About the Character
Character Personality
Helms usually acts calm in any situation, although he does have his moments when he has a temper problem. It isn't as bad as it use to be when he was younger, but the problem is still there. When he is acting out of rage, he acts before he thinks. He doesn't listen to other people around him, which can cause problems.
However, Helms usually tries to be respectful towards others at first, even if they are rude. Of course, that respect can quickly turn on a dime. If he is calm though, he acts some-what different. He's a little more sheepish, not really sure what to say to another person. But his shyness quickly disappears by the time a person introduces themselves to him.
In rare moments, Helms acts nervous and stutters. So far, only one person has seen this side of him. He usually tries to protect the person to the best of his ability and he constantly make sure that they are alright. If he over-step his bounds on his protection, then Helms will back off.
Character Appearance
Helms does have an appearance of a little above 'average' person. He has a lean body from the training he has done over the past, although he keeps most of his body under-neath a cape. He has an average height for someone his age being at 5'9". His skin is slightly tan.
He has dark brown eyes and hair that is a mix of light and dark brown: The lower part of his hair is darker, while the upper half is lighter. His hair reaches barely past his shoulders.
Helms covers most of his body underneath a cape, which is similar to his hair color. Underneath his cape, he has a brown, slightly baggy t-shirt that 'puffs' up around his waist. His shirt has a zig-zag design that goes vertical on both sides of his shoulders. He wears two wrist bands on both of his wrists, which is also brown.
Helms wear blue jeans that has 'pockets' around the knees. On the outer sides of his jeans, he has cross hatches that are a mix of black and brown. He wears dark brown shoes that doesn't have any laces on them.

Character History:
Helms was born in Traverse Town, although his parents came from a different world; After the heartless had taken over their old world, Helm's parents were 'forced' to move into Traverse Town. He lived in the Second District, which was considered to be one of the danger zones at the time, so he was never without an escort.
His father was a mercenary in his old world, and after the heartless incident, he decided to find a 'way' to get rid of the heartless. He joined a small band of other mercenaries, most of them being from Traverse Town, and set out into different worlds. Helms grew up in his early age not seeing his father as much.
Helms' mother was responsible for taking care of him, and making sure he was protected. Because of this, his mother learned a few magic skills that were simple to learn and some-what effective against heartless. However, one day, his mother suddenly 'disappeared' and she never came back. Helms' father realized what had happened and decided to give up his 'mercenary' job until he was old enough to take care of himself.
Helms was taught to fight at the age of 8, although he already had 'experience'; Even before his mother's disappearance, Helms grew up watching the mercenaries fight against the heartless whenever they were around. He grew up to admire what they did, considering them heroes. A few other kids also had the same admiration and they would 'pretend' to be those mercenaries.
His father first taught him how to hold a 'sword', starting with a simple pipe that he found around Traverse Town. After getting slightly better at holding it, his father decided to teach him the few spells that his mother learned, although he had no idea how to use it himself. It took longer for Helms to learn magic than it did with the sword.
Helms eventually learned the basics of both skills, so his father thought he was 'good' enough to protect himself. Helms' father took him to his mercenary jobs a few times, just to learn what it was like to be one. It was only one of the few times when Helms was able to escape Traverse Town. Traveling to other worlds fascinated him; Helms never thought of seeing a different world before. He soon came to love going to other worlds, wither it was just to explore or anything else.
When Helms was 15, his father went to another world and didn't return. A week later, two of the mercenaries came back, although they had been wounded severely. As it turned out, the mercenaries were ambush by a group of heartless and never had time to fight them; Many of them had their hearts taken away, one of them being Helms' father.
Upon hearing the news, Helms quickly learned to hate everything there was about the heartless. He made a pledge to carry on what his father had started; to destroy all the heartless. At this point his life, Helms was decent enough to be considered a fighter, although he was no where near the previous mercenary group. This didn't stop him, though, as he took one of his father's gummi ships and went off to different worlds.
Helms came back to Traverse Town a year later, at the age of 16. He was realizing at this point, his father's 'goal' was some-what close to impossible. He came back, seeing the First District being destroyed. Helms was shocked to see what happened to the place and assumed it was one of the heartless' doing. Upon searching for the culprit, Helms came across a girl named Toya.
Apparently, she was here when the whole incident had happened, and she told him who did it. She followed him, despite Helms' disagreement. Eventually, they caught up with the person responsible for the attack. To Helms, it was a shock; it was the first time that he met someone 'evil' enough to be considered a heartless.
The man had introduced himself as Ren, and he was not alone. He was accompanied by his brother, Red. Helms, out of blind rage, went after Ren, although it was a foolish mistake. Ren was far too strong for him; even with the help of Toya, Helms couldn't defeat him. Ren and Red left, leavng behind both of them.
Helms felt ashamed for not defeating the two of them; he promised to 'destroy' the heartless, yet he couldn't even defeat one person on his own. He was injured during the battle, so Toya had suggested to go into the hotel. The two arrived at the hotel, and luckly enough; the people were kind enough to leave their rooms open, despite the attack.
Helms' head wasn't probably in the right spot, but he soon found himself...'caring' for this stranger in a short time. His mind was some-what derilous, but he couldn't tell. Helms managed to get separate rooms for themselves, but before they went inside their rooms, Toya revealed a secret.
As it turned out, she was a 'heartless' herself...in a way. She lost half of her heart to a heartless, so she still had a heart; just not a full one. Still, it confused Helms. He had always thought of heartless being evil, not...well, the way Toya was. His mind was about to explode, but he managed to keep his emotion intact. He eventually said good night to Toya and they went into their separate room.
Helms still thought about what Toya said about herself, and he started to second-guess himself. Maybe...not all of the heartless were 'evil'. They were the innocent ones that had the unfortune of turning into one after they had their hearts taken away. In truth, Helms didn't even know how heartless were created. It was because of this, Helms started to give up his 'promise' that he made to himself a year ago.
He heard Toya scream in the other room, and he quickly went to her door....yet, he couldn't go into her room. Finally, he summed up the courage to go inside and he saw that Toya was crying. He tried his best to comfort Toya, although nothing had seem to be working. Finally, he did something that he considered to be 'rash'; he gave a kiss to Toya.
It seem to have worked, seeing that it stunned Toya for a moment. Even Helms was shock; his face was completely red, not sure what he had done. It shocked him even more that Toya gave him a kiss back. He had no idea what he had just done, but he decided to just go with it.
Their moment came to adrupt end, though, as heartless came near the hotel. Helms tried to fight them off, but he wasn't able to. Oddly, none of them were interested with his heart; instead they were after Toya. He tried to save her, but wasn't able to. It was blow to his self-esteem; first he couldn't defeat Ren, and now this...
There was a note, explaining that if he wanted to save her, Helms had to go to the End of the World. He got onto his gummi ship and set off to the 'world'.
When he arrived, he met up with Toya. Although, they were now in a completely different place, with no sign of the gummi ship. The two travelled across The End of the World, revisiting old worlds, including Toya's own world. Some-how the two managed to escape the world, and the two were together for a while, until they had decided to go their separate ways.
The following months, Helms traveled to other worlds, but he no longer had the same 'goal' as he did almost two years ago. Instead, he was travelling just for the fun of it. Then, he went into Land of the Dragons, where he had met Toya once more. But, to his disappointment: Toya didn't even remember about him. Helms travelled with her for a little bit, until he decided to go their separate ways again.
Now, Helms travels to different worlds, not really sure what to do next. He is a lot more calmer than he was before, no longer having the same hatred towards heartless. He realized that he could no longer 'destroy' the heartless. He concluded that they will always be around, even after he died. Although, he did have one, small goal; to become stronger. During his travels now, Helms tries to find time to practice, continueing his father's training.
