The night's were passing, and the dress seemed to haunt me. I shivered everytime I passed it. It haunted me, I didn't leavemy room that day though. I was nervous about everything and my stomach ached. I couldn't try it on. The one thing I feared most at the moment.
It was quite early in the morning, maybe six or so, yet Amyln stood in her room wondering about the day. She didn't know if this would be the day she headed out of Port Royal. The ship she had been on had left late last night, and she almost felt herself well up when she watched the sails fill and leave. She figured they had all been reassured she was fine. Aim had decided to tell none of them she was leaving, although some may have found out.
Aim stood in a hotel room, with a wonderful view of the docks. It was perfect for her taste. It was good, but the dress that lay on her bed did haunt her. Her first step for getting off the ship was to get herself fitted for a dress. She knew if she wished to go into the world she would need to be more presentable, she couldn't live her whoe life among men, could she?
Aim looked at that dress once more from the window. She sighed, fearing to even touch it as it lay perfectly on her bed. She had placed it there for just that reason. Aim bit at one of her short nails, she wore but a long undershirt.
She shook her head, how could she? Aim wanted to yell, she began to walk tot he bathroom, but looked back. She cursed at herself and lifted the dress. Aim ran into the bathroom and slammed the door behind her. Aim, of course, being paid on a sailors wage didn't have enough to buy the bet attire. She bought but a simple womans dress.
Aim placed it on, taking much effort as it had been years since hse had even touched a dress. She looked at herself in the mirror, trying to make herself look like a beautiful reprsentable woman. Aim knew she couldn't be one though, she didn't have the face, or the arms, or legs, she looked so manly. She placed her hands on her chest and wondered why she even bothered. No wonder she was fine with men.
Aim looked at the ruffles of the dress, it was simple, browns, quite loose, but it would do for a little bit. Aim let her hair fall before her face, it's curly waves finally able to show after keeping it up for so long. Would this all be bad?
Aim wore her old rugged bots, placed all clothing in her seabag. And then, headed for the door, locking it as she left, and was heading down to the docks to see when next ship to England sailed. Wanted to see if they'd even take her on it.
Aim walked into the market, only about a block off, and headed down, feeling quite self consious in it all.
