Ryujin just let this moment come. He felt the warm brush of her lips against his, and felt more at ease than he had in a long time. Then, as she leaned in and kissed him back, he had to hold back his newly strengthened instincts. No, she deserves more than that... he thought, as he gained control over the instinct. As he pulled back, he just looked back at her. He didn't realize it, but was blushing just as much as her.
He wondered how it had come to this... What was it about her that made her different to him from all the other girls he'd met? What was it about her that captivated his heart so? He didn't understand... Then he supposed he wasn't meant to. "Mika... I know all you want to do is help... But... I think this is bigger than just you and me against that man..." he said. "And if something happened... I wouldn't... I won't let you get hurt on my behalf... I've already put you through enough emotionally..."
What had changed in him? He wasn't that same, snobby kid from Twilight Town... Now... Now he was something... More... The people he'd met... They'd changed him for the better... Now he was a far better person, not just thanks to Mika, but thanks to all of his new friends... Yet, he was afraid now it would be harder... Becoming a vampire had only strengthened the impulse of his instinct. He'd have to watch himself... Yet, he'd definitely developed morals... Unlike the old Ryujin, who would have jumped at a chance with a girl, he was truly different...

Ryujin smiled. He was indeed learning how stubborn she was, very quickly. He liked that about her though. He never had been one for the girls that just let people use them as a doormat, or kept their opinions in. He didn't regret kissing Mika, but he wondered instead if he hadn't made a mistake... He didn't want to draw her so close, only to push her away in trying to overcome the obstacles set before him...
He finally smiled and let out a small chuckle. "Fine, you can help. But just know that if something happens to you, the guilt I'll feel will by almost impossible to imagine... Honestly, the old me wouldn't be able to care for anyone or anything... I don't quite understand it... But ever since I met that Arkyron guy's girlfriend, I changed alot... She just insulted me alot because I was really rude, but I think I kinda needed it.." he said, half-joking while laughing a little.
He couldn't help but smile when Mika said she wanted revenge on the man for what he'd done. Afterall, she felt like there was something she could've done to prevent this, though there wasn't... "Don't worry... You'll get your revenge on him," he said, showing an obviously teasing grin. Then, his expression turned more kind and genuine. "But we'll take him on together," he finished, showing a cheesy grin as he closed his eyes for a moment, thinking, that same silly expression remaining on his face.

Ryujin smiled. He was glad to have Mika around. She made him feel like he actually had a reason to be around... yet, he couldn't help but wonder... how did she feel about him? He wondered if it was really okay to ask... He decided to wait for now. He wasn't about to pry into her mind.
Then, snapping back into reality again, he noticed something seemed to be bugging her... But what was it? Out of care he put his hand on her shoulder again and looked her in the eyes again. "What's bothering you?" he asked. "Don't try to tell me it's nothing either... I can see a change in your eyes..." He hoped it had nothing to do with him...

Ryujin nodded in understanding. Yet, it seemed it was more than that... What else could be possibly bothering her...? He tried to look into her eyes for answers, but she looked away. He didn't know what to say or do. She atleast told him she was hungry... Not sure what to do, he just embraced her for a moment. "I don't know what else is going through your head aside from the hunger, and I don't know what you think of me... but... I think I'm in love with you Mika..." he said.

(Somehow we keep missing each other, lol.)
Ryujin tilted his head in confusion as well as embarrassment, blushing slightly. He thought for a moment, wondering if he'd done the right thing in saying that. He believed he had... his heart wouldn't let him deny the truth of how he felt. "I wouldn't lie to you," he replied, trying to look into her eyes so she would see he was being honest, but at this point wasn't sure she'd let him... She seemed confused now on top of the hunger... Great Ryujin, just what you need... confusing and hurting just one more frigg'n person you care about! WAY TO GO NIMROD! he thought to himself.
Her reaction confused him a bit too... but he had expected that. "Not on am I not lying to you... I couldn't lie to you... my heart wouldn't let me..." he said, a mixture of modest happiness and confusion written all over his face. "And if we can't find anything to help you with my hunger, I know you don't want to... but... you could feed on me..." he said. She'd already gone out of her way for him... he felt he should atleast find a way to return the favor.

Ryujin was taken aback by the sudden display of emotion. As she kissed him, he kissed back not just out of instinct, but out of his own affection. He was also surprised when she pulled back, but the display surprised him nonetheless, and communicated how she felt. He wondered why she pulled back, but he supposed it didn't matter. She looked as though she wanted to say something, but had been cut off by her stomach growling. He tilted his head in confusion, as she was dead silent.
"What's wrong Mika?" Ryujin asked, great concern showing in his eyes. He stared into her eyes, hoping to find the answers. None really showed. Her eyes were clouded with hunger and bloodlust. "If you're hungry, and don't want to feed on me, then I'm sure we can find some animals nearby... fish, perhaps?" he suggested.

Ryujin tried not to stare at Mika, but he found it very hard, especially after her skin glistened with water droplets. His new form wasn't making handling lust any easier. Then his mind shifted, he then wondered when he would hunger for blood... and if it would get severe at all. He shook his head, clearing the thought, and returned his attention to Mika, smiling.
Ryujin then watched as she caught a fish with her bare hands and drank from it. She seemed to have multiple skills. That only made him more impressed. He laughed a bit, and just continued to smile. "Having fun are we?" he teased. He wasn't sure how or why this day had come... but it had, and he wouldn't let her nor himself regret it.

Ryujin just smiled and laughed, then again sat down on the beach just watching. Then he heard her witty remark. "Maybe some other time when the bloodlust actually exists," he replied, but towards the end quieted his answer, for fear of raising guilt in her again. That was the last thing he wanted for her. She'd saved his life, and done the right thing. He didn't want her to regret it.
Ryujin was becoming bored with sitting around though. He quickly took off his light jacket and shirt, and jumped into the water, diving below the waves. The rush of the warm water currents was invigorating. He just smiled, as he saw a fish. It tried to swim away from him, but he pursued it, and caught it in his mouth, as he came up for air. True he wasn't hungry, but Mika was. He supposed the least he could do was help.
He rose from the water, holding it in one hand, as it flopped around a bit. He had a scar from where he'd been imapled earlier. It was small, but it was on both his back and his chest. He didn't pay attention to anything but the fish though, as he tried to hold it, but it flopped to much, and cut his hand, forcing him to drop it. "Nasty little creatures..." he said, examining it.

"It probably thinks worse of me, eh?" Ryujin repeated smiling, the water reflecting the small amount of sunlight, especially around his new scar. "Well, what does it know? It's just a fish. Besides, right now all that matters to me is what you think of me," he said, a genuine tone in his voice. Then he returned his attention to the fish, as one rubbed against his leg, cutting him.
"OW!" Ryujin exclaimed in pain. "See what I mean? Nasty little things..." he repeated, a small trace of a teasing tone in his voice. Then he sighed, looking up at the sunrise. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Then he thought. "Mika... I'm going to have to fear the sun now, aren't I?" he asked, a sad tone in his voice. The sunrise was one of his favorite times. He dreaded the thought of having to give it up.
Ryujin then began to think about his new form. With it came great strength, speed, and agility... but also great lust, overpowering instinct, and cravings for blood.... He was afraid of letting the latter three come to rule him. He couldn't let that happen... He wouldn't let Mika see that as all that was left of him...

Ryujin sighed, listening to what she said. She made some interesting points, as well as some revelations. So, he didn't have to fear the sun that he'd come to love so much? That was a relief... The problem was performing any of the methods she'd suggested. So, he'd have to give up on it. For now...
Then Ryujin noticed she broke the eye contact, and then wouldn't look at him. Did she really think so poorly of what he'd become? Was she afraid he couldn't handle it? Or was it that she couldn't handle it? Maybe it was even a mixture of all of those thoughts... He hated not being able to comfort her in this. He wanted her to stop blaming herself, but he knew that wasn't realistic.
"Mika... are you still blaming yourself for what happened?" Ryujin asked, concern in his eyes and expression. It wasn't her fault. Martieve had forced this life on him, not her. He couldn't bare to let her keep feeling so guilty about it. "Please, just talk to me about what's going through your head... I want to help..." he pleaded.

Ryujin let Mika lead, and allowed her to hold his hand as he walked beside her, smiling brightly. A place where he could still watch the sunrise... that sounded great... He couldn't wait. He couldn't help but wonder though... What exactly was it about this place...? It seemed to directly impact the fates of those who set foot on it. Ryujin sighed, shruggin the thought off.
As they walked, he noticed several beautiful plants, and a small pond. "This place is almost as beautiful as you," he said teasingly, as he let out a small laugh. "How did you find this little cave you're talking about, if you don't mind me asking?" he asked, tilting his head in curiosity.

(You think this post sux? O.o Did you see my last one? XD)
Ryujin stopped, looking back at the sun and sky for a moment. The beautiful colors mixed like a palet of paint beneath the stroke of an artist's brush. His jaw dropped as he smiled, accidentally displaying his young fangs. It held an almost magical appeal for him, as if it were lighting a fire deap within his soul. Yet, this didn't stop him from paying attention to Mika. No, quite the contrary. He noticed that the lights and colors were making details that he hadn't noticed about her seemingly come to life.
Ryujin raised an eyebrow in surprise that she'd been chased into the cave. She didn't seem like the type that would be chased by anything... she seemed too gentle. "That surprises me, to be honest... You seem like the type that wouldn't bother anyone or anything unless it bothered you... or atleast not intentionally," he said, winking. He sighed with relief, as he rested his head on her shoulder for a moment. He quickly pulled it up though, returning his gaze to the sky.

(You're doing better than me...)
Ryujin sighed, not sure how to respond at first. Then, he thought about it. It was a very good question... One he'd always wondered himself. And considering that he was human, or atleast originally, he felt somewhat stupid. "I'm not sure how to explain it... but I'll try my best," he said, smiling. He glanced away from her for a moment to gaze at the sun and all its beauty. He was sad to know that this would likely be one of the few sunrises he'd see for a while.
Ryujin thought for a second longer, making sure he'd found the proper words, then began. "I guess... it's kind of like the metaphorical light in the darkness. Just when you're lost in the dark, and you can't find your way... the sun comes up, and guides you. It's hope to the lost, and a gorgeous sight to those who are found..." he replied, not realizing how deep he sounded. "I guess... it symbolizes to many people that no matter how things get, if you can just hold on for a little longer, then the light will shine through," he finished. He'd noticed she actually seemed somewhat dissappointed when he moved his head, but he was going to try and take things slowly since he hadn't yet learned control of his new instincts.

(Woo! Finally back from multiple successive vacations?)
Ah, the feel of the soft earth beneath his feet... It only added to the magic Ryujin felt as he gazed at the sun. Yet, a small trace of sorrow flowed through his heart. The young man doubted he'd see the sunrise again any time soon. As Ryujin stepped inside the cave, he continued to peer out. Yet, he turned around, hearing an odd creaking noise. "Di-?" he started to ask, but then shook his head. "Nevermind," he finished with a smile. "I'm sure it was nothi-" he began to add, but cut himself off as he saw the darkness start to sprout beneath him. "MIKA! RUN!" he shouted, struggling to escape from the shroud of darkness that was quickly enshrouding him. The young man knew that it was trying to drag him away, but he feared where to...

(O.o Someone smote me...)
Ryujin continued to struggle, but it was in vain. The dark energy continued to latch onto him, trying to drag him away. Then, the young vampire yelled, as he enshrouded himself in his unique green flames, burning away at the darkness with his very essence. If this didn't work, it would kill him. It was a risk he had to take though. Then, just when he'd lost all hope, the darkness dissapated, leaving Ryujin on his knees, gasping for breath. Is... is this how greatly I've allowed the darkness to affect my heart? Or was it something else...? he wondered, still gasping for breath.

Still panting, Ryujin attempted to regain his composure. The worst of it was over. Now he only had to reassure Mika. She had a point though... if the darkness was trying to get to him here, they'd best leave... Ryujin still couldn't say anything, but tightly hugged Mika, letting her know he was alright, and glad the vampiress was there.
As the young vampire did so however, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye... It was a door of some sort. Where had it come from? And more importantly... what did it lead to? With a sigh, Ryujin's labored breathing ceased, and he calmed down. "I'm going to be alright... You're right though, we might need to leave..." he stated, concern in his tone. Though the young man didn't what to think about the door, he said nothing about it.
(It's alright, lol. I mine was kinda short too... *headdesk*)
