Finding out that the temple wasn't as nearly as old on the inside as the outside was a relief to Red. This whole place reminded him of the picture books back in Big Mama's study. He had spent a lot of time in that study. He loved looking at the pictures in the books especially the history books.
Now that he thought about it, had there been a temple similar to this one in one of those books. Red was sure of it. It probably wasn't the same temple as this one, but it was very similar. Closing his eyes, Red tried to visualize the picture he had seen when he was younger.
Every time he thought he had the whole picture it faded from his mind. Sighing to himself aloud, Red eyed the man sitting Indian Style in the middle of the room. Having a scar himself, Red recognized the one on the man's neck immediately. He had an eye for those kinds of things.
Watching Jean, Rowin, Dyne, and Sain react with each other brought sadness on Red. He could tell they truly cared for one another. Rowin had that sort of personality that made him seem like the annoying pervert. Sain was the smart one of the bunch. It seemed like he was the natural born leader.
Dyne... Red couldn't tell Dyne's personality right off the back. He seemed kind enough the way he reacted to Rowin and talked to Jean with his hands. Listening to Sain's description of him being a mute only confirmed Red's suspicion of the scar.
He had a scar of his own that held its own story. One day perhaps he would tell that story. He didn't know if it was as interesting as the one Dyne probably had, but it was a part of Red's life. It was important to him.
When Dyne came over to shake hands, Red found himself smiling. The man seemed like the genuine sorts. Stretching out his hand in turn, Red shook it. Maybe one day he would have the kind of relationship these guys had.
Looking over to Annalese Red found his anger he held at her slowly fade away. He didn't know what it was about the vampire, but it was hard to be mad at her. Maybe it was her childish personality? Red honestly didn't know.
Red noticed that Captain Kira said nothing about anyone. He simply regarded the happenings with a blank face. It was only when Sain went to fetch Rye, did he seem interested. "Well the faster we get the questioning done with, the faster he can leave." Red thought.
------------------
Unknowingly to the party in the temple, tragedy was occurring at the mountain base. Commander Xhao could do nothing. He was the only person left alive in his entire military camp. He stood in the center of the burning camp, his hands tied behind his back.
He could do nothing but watch as Huns threw body after body into a growling fire. The Commander was still having a hard time with accepting the fact that the Huns had returned. Had they not defeated them years ago. How had they arrived in China unseen.
Commander Xhao was on his knees as a voice commanded him to look up. Gazing upward the Commander looked into the eyes of the man responsible for the death of all his men. "Why?" It was the only thing the Commander wanted to know.
The man who called himself Ellac simply laughed. "Why?!" He shouted the question back at the Commander. "After your Emperor killed my father! After everything your country has done to mine. Your death will be nothing compared to what I have planned for China! I will not stop until every person in China falls down before the mighty Ellac! King of the Huns!"
The last thing the Commander saw was Ellac's swinging sword. As it came towards his neck, the Commander only had one thought. "Kira... I'm sorry to leave this all to you my friend." With that his vision went black.

Once everyone was seated, Dyne took the cushion he had been in earlier and sat down in it again. His eyes looked from one person to the other out of curiosity. He had only just met Red, Annalese and Captain Kira. It was no wonder that he would be so curious of them. Looking at the younger members of the group, he knew Rowen would soon be questioning Jean about them. Rowen was annoying like that and would question it in the most embarrassing way possible.
Watching his purple armored friend sit in the cushion nearby him...and of course Jean, Dyne could already tell what Rowen was up to. Giving Rowen a disapproving look, he went ignored by Rowen. "So...Jean, are these kids your's?" he questioned with a smirk. "Need a hand raising them?" he inquired.
Before Jean could turn and smack him over the head, Dyne beat her to it in shoving Rowen into the cushion face first. Rowen was always hitting on women his age. It wasn't a wonder he would hit on Jean, he always did back in the day, much to everyone's chagrin in the group. Despite that, Rowen was a nice guy...just annoying in that field. Dyne, for added measure, sat on his friend's back to keep him on the cushion as he looked at the others and rolled his eyes to show his annoyance with Rowen.
"Thank you, Dyne." Jean was very relieved Dyne got a hold of him first. Jean didn't know what she would've done but it wouldn't have been as nice as what Dyne did. After a good few minutes, Dyne eventually let Rowen up. Keeping a careful eye on him, the two served their guests with green tea. Dyne had forced Rowen to make it to keep him from doing anything else annoying. Where Rowen was a womanizer, he wasn't the sort to slip anything into anyone's drinks or anything like that. If anything, he was just a 'flirt' to put it in nicer terms.
By the time Sain had returned, he was accompanied by another figure in red armor. Both had their helmets off revealing their hair color. Sain's was blond and the bangs somewhat threatened to cover his eyes, making them look more fierce than they really were. Ryu's was black in color but had blue-ish highlights in the lighting as he approached the group with a smile on his face. The way he carried himself, it was clear that instead of Sain, it was actually Ryu that was the true leader of the four. Bright green eyes looked out at the company before him as he sat himself down in a cushion and looked right over at Captain Kira.
"Hello and welcome, my name's Ryu." He had addressed the whole party before settling his eyes then on Jean, he smiled. "Good seeing you again, General Jean." Focusing on Captain Kira again, he spoke. "I hear you've some questions to ask us?" he inquired as Sain placed himself in a cushion on his right so that he was between Ryu and Rowen. All four had removed their helmets and placed it before them as they peered over at the captain. In their code, Jean knew, it was a sign of showing respect for them to remove their helmets. Like Rowen's hair had indicated upon peeking out from his helmet earlier, his hair was indeed a light blue in color but dulled to a sort of robin egg color. It was obvious Sain must've spoken to Ryu about the situation before they got here. Otherwise, Ryu would've spent more time enjoying the reunion.
Jean looked over at Captain Kira too as Annalese merely played with the contents of her tea with the stirring utensil she had been given. If it weren't for the fact that she were a vampire, she would've been thought of as no threat. The discussion the adults were about to have meant nothing to her as she merely entertained herself with the stirring utensil and watching the tea swirl about in the cup. She had drunk any of it, tea wasn't something a vampire needed to sustain themselves with. It was blood that she only ate and drank. Anything else would just make her sick.

Red had been enjoying the tea when Ryu finally appeared. The tea itself was quite good. Taking it sip by sip so as to not burn his lips, Red tried to let himself let loose. These people were Jean's friends. He wanted to be open to getting to know them.
One thing that Red didn't like was the fact that Jean was so busy with her old friends. It wasn't that she shouldn't be... He just felt left out of the conversation. Jean had been his first friend since his departure from his home.
It was just hard for him to sit in the corner and not try to steal some of her attention back. He felt like his older sister brought all of her friends over. He was that little brother who wanted to play along and be the center of attention. But no older sister would ever want to be bothered by her little brother. Especially not in front of her friends.
That was how Red felt. For as independent as he seemed he looked up to Jean. He wanted her attention to be on him and not her friends. Red was not the type to act on those feelings though. So he calmly sipped his tea.
When Ryu arrived, Red's suspicion that Sain was the warrior was proven wrong. From the moment he laid his eyes on Ryu he knew that this man was the true leader of their party. The way he walked the way he even talked as he addressed Captain Kira, spoke volumes. He was a true leader.
Captain Kira, bowed to Ryu respectively. "Ronin Ryu, I am Captain Kira. I have come by the request of Commander Xhao. We have been stationed at the base of the mountain for a good three months now. We have not known of your presence until the appearance of these three in our camp."
Pausing, Captain Kira gestured to Annalese, Red, and Jean. "My Commander instructed me to see what you might know of the occurrences on this mountain. We have had sentries placed all over the mountain since our arrival. Not a single one of them has ever returned." Captain Kira's eyes looked accusingly at Ryu. Ryu's answer perhaps might judge Kira's behavior and actions for the remaining time they were with him.

Jean hadn't forgotten about Red during the time they were there. She was just waiting for the opportune moment for when they could all just mingle and take a break for the time being. Then, she could get Red more introduced to the others. It would be nice for them to all get along. After all, Ryu, Sain, Rowen, and Dyne were going to be helping them for the time being. They needed a place to stay for a bit. It would be good if they could stay here for a little while until Red was decided.
Glancing over at Red, she gave him a smile before looking at Captain Kira as he spoke to Ryu. Annalese just entertained herself with the tea, contently quiet for the time being as the humans talked.
Rowen had to refrain from propping a hand under his chin to keep himself from growing bored. He didn't want Sain to get angry at him for the disrespect. Ryu wouldn't find it funny either so he behaved for now. Everyone's eyes, save Annalese's, were on Captain Kira as he spoke. Ryu's friendly demeanor hadn't wavered as he listened intently to all that was being said. His expression didn't falter at the look Kira was giving him as he questioned them about the goings on here in the mountain.
"Hm, that is a problem..." Ryu trailed off, looking over at the others in turn. Dyne shrugged and shook his head when Ryu looked over at him. Indicating he didn't know that anyone else had been wandering around the mountains. Rowen bit the side of his lip as he went into thought. "I think I might've seen someone the other day...a sentry right?" he questioned Captain Kira before looking over at Ryu. "Remember that armored guy the other day? We saw him a little ways off near that peak?" Ryu looked thoughtful as he held his chin and thought about it.
"Yeah...yeah, you're right, Rowen. The guy we saw the other day but...I don't think he was one of Captain Kira's people. His armor was different." Rowen looked at Captain Kira and then looked at Ryu waiting for him to speak directly to Kira.
"What do your men wear normally, Captain Kira?" Ryu asked him. Dyne, where he had been rather content having company around, looked like he was uneasy with the way this had sounded. There was an army at the summit and because they lived here, it looked like they were somehow involved in the capture of men that came up this way. Still, he couldn't blame the captain. Ryu, Sain, Rowen and himself were very skilled people. Capturing a small group, one at a time, would not be out of their skill to do.
Rowen thought more on the subject. Sain seemed to have gone into thought as well. "The mountain has become rather hostile lately. Where I've not seen your people, I have had to evade some men trying to take hold of myself and Dyne here." It was Sain whom had spoken. "I don't know who they were but they were big, burly looking people. In fact, they almost looked like barbarians-!" he was cut off by Dyne whom had snapped his fingers and nodded knowingly before gesturing at Rowen and Ryu to Sain.
"Yeah, you're right, Dyne! That's like the guy we saw too!" Rowen responded. Jean just looked between Captain Kira and Ryu quietly. She was relieved to know they hadn't anything to do with it but she was worried the captain wouldn't believe them.
"We haven't dared to venture out from here for a while. Last time Dyne was out, he was followed but no one has been able to find us in here. I'm not sure where your men are but it could be because of these sightings of these people we saw." It was Ryu who spoke finally.

Red noticed that Captain Kira seemed to be troubled by Ryu's words. "Our sentries wear green and black armor." Now that he mentioned it, the only color armor he saw at the camp was the red that the Commander wore. Captain Kira wore green armor himself.
"This is not good news." Captain Kira responded in thought. "If there is another army here in the mountains, how have we not seen them? Our men have disappeared without even a trace of them even being there." Rising Captain Kira began to pace.
Red felt sorry for the men. It was clear he was discomforted by his thoughts. "These men were bulky you say..." A sudden realization crossed Kira's face. "I need to get back to my camp. I can only pray that I will reach it in time." That was the last thing he said before Captain Kira took off the way they came.
Watching him go, Red didn't know what to think. Obviously he had come to realization. In his haste he had not shared that realization with them. "Well at least we don't have to worry about him anymore." Red said under his breath. Of course he had no clue as to what had happened at the camp below.
Crossing his arms, Red wondered what was going to happen next. Maybe now they could relax finally and get to know eachother. Still... the fact that there was an army somewhere on this mountain troubled Red as much as it did the Captain. Most likely before their time here was done they would run into that army.
Now that he thought about it, the firecracker from before made sense. Someone really had been trying to kill them. That brought a frown on Red's face. Why was everyone always trying to kill him? He was really starting to get tired of it.

The party sat there and waited as Captain Kira went into thought. Ryu, unlike Dyne, was calm and collected. In fact, he just seemed to ooze confidence that they would be believed. It wasn't like they made the story up. There wasn't a reason to lie if they had never been involved with what took place to begin with.
Annalese seemed to pick up on the tension in the air finally as she looked from Red, Jean and her friends toward Captain Kira with a confused expression upon her face. She hadn't been listening in on the whole thing, so it was no wonder that she would be confused by what was taking place. Jean just sat there as the captain sifted through the information he had been given. When he heard the burly men description, some sort of realization passed over his face. Watching him get up and pace around, it was clear he was at unease.
Dyne looked over at Sain then as Captain Kira took off. Rowen looked over at Ryu for any indication of what to do. Ryu glanced over at Sain. Out of them all, Sain was quite intelligent. Dyne was no idiot either but out of the four, Sain had more skill than Dyne and could communicate. "Sain, follow Captain Kira and make sure he'll be okay. I don't like the idea of him running off alone when he could end up in danger." Sain nodded and got to his feet.
"I'll see you all in a moment then." With that, Sain put on his helmet and left. Only then did he reveal on his waist that he carried a long, broadsword sheathed at his side. Once Sain was gone, Dyne looked over at Ryu and Rowen. When Red spoke up, Rowen nodded. "Hopefully, we won't have to do anything. Sain was just sent to make sure he'd be okay."
Jean looked over at Red and smiled. "Well, glad that's cleared up." Ryu finally looked over at Red and Annalese. He hadn't seen them before so he was curious about them.
"So, Jean. Who are your friends?" he asked her. Jean pointed at Annalese, whom looked up at him when she heard her and Red being addressed.
"That girl is Annalese...and this boy here..." she trailed off, setting a hand on Red's shoulder next to her. "This is a good friend of mine, Red. I'm helping the kid out. He's been through a lot and we need your help." Dyne smiled and nodded his head to show that he would be happy to help as he took the ends of each of his knuckles from either hand and bumped them together.
"What do you need help with, Jean?" Ryu asked. Jean looked from Annalese to Red wondering how to answer that question. She had concealed the fact Annalese was a vampire. Sure, she knew the girl could be dangerous but she would keep an eye on her. Right now, she seemed perfectly fine. Red, well Red's story was complicated.
"We need a place to stay for the moment, at least until Red can decide where he wants to go. I'm helping him deal with a problem of sorts." She left it open ended. It was up to Red if he would want to say what he wanted on the subject and leave it as that. Rowen seemed delighted at the idea, as did Dyne. Dyne, unlike Rowen though, had nothing perverted in mind at the idea of their company. Both looked over at Ryu like little happy kids. All of them, because of the fact they were close to Jean in age, were still somewhat immature mentality wise. Something like this excited them.
"Sure, you can stay with us any time. We'll just have to set up rooms for you!" replied Ryu. Dyne and Rowen both shot up on foot. Rowen, who noticed how eager Dyne was, simply returned the glare Dyne was giving him. Ryu just sighed as the two headed off to go and get the rooms prepared. "Sorry about them. Rowen's...Rowen and Dyne's just really happy that we have company."

When the subject turned to Red he felt... uncomfortable. That was one way he would put it. He had a bit of shyness about him and it often came about when everyone's attention was turned on him. Because of this when Jean turned to introduce Annalese and himself he turned a slight red.
He was glad that Jean introduced Annalese first. However her explanation was simple compared to Red's. Face going redder, the words "a good friend of mine"echoed in his head. "I have a friend again." He thought holding back a tear.
Red couldn't help but feel special when Jean introduced him. She really did care for him. It gave him hope that one day he might find the sort of friends Jean had in the four ronin here. There would always be some doubts in Red's mind, but he knew now that Jean was his friend.
However his happiness soon turned into worry when Jean went into the explanation for their coming here. Red had no clue on how much she was going to reveal. In reality Red didn't even know how much he wanted to reveal himself. He still didn't trust Annalese a hundred percent.
In the end Jean seemed to understand his worry. She kept the explanation simple. He smiled in response. Red didn't want to directly involve these guys unless he absolutely had too. There was still a deadly assassin out there....
Figuring now was the time he could relax, Red stood up. It was time he said something. Turning to Ryu he bowed respectively. "Thank you for offering us your hospitality."
------------------
Running down the mountain was much easier then climbing up it. Captain Kira had only one thought on his mind. "Huns." The word repeated over and over in his mind. He had no idea that Ryu had sent Sain to follow him.
For the most part thing seemed alright. However as he came within sight of the camp below he noticed the smoke rising in the air from it. "Oh no!" He proclaimed as he increased his speed.
Coming to the foot of the mountain he only slowed when he reached the border of the camp. He could smell the stench of burning bodies in the air. Kira could tell that a massacre had taken place.
Kira's worst fear had been imagined! The Huns had attacked! Kira couldn't just stop at the border of the camp though. He had to see if Commander Xhao was still alive. It was thanks to this alone that Kira was able to continue on.
Walking through the burning camp, Kira noticed swords as if they were never drawn. Blood was spilled everywhere. However there was not a single body. Covering his mouth with his hand, Kira continued to run through the camp.
At last he came to the tall fire where the bodies burned. And there laying in front of it was Commander Xhao. His body had been beaten to a pulp before a sword had taken his head clean off. The sight was too much for Kira to handle.
He fell to his knees consumed in sorrow. Tears flew freely now as he crawled over to his best friend. Commander Xhao had done everything for Kira. He had saved him countless times in battle. Kira had sworn his life away in order to protect his friend. In the end he had failed.
"Such tragedy has befallen this land." The sudden voice to Kira's right sent him turning. He had not seen anyone before. Drawing his blade he prepared to slay the Hun.
To his surprise the voice did not belong to a Hun. The person before him was robbed in black cloak with a hood pulled over his head. However there was no darkness inside. Kira could clearly see the person inside and there was no way the person was a Hun.
"I... I have... failed...." Kira could barley get the words out of his mouth. Suddenly Kira turned his blade and pointed it at his chest. What point was there in life. His best friend was dead!
"So you will fail once more?" The person was right. If he took his life now he would just be failing. But what else could he do?
As if the person could read Kira's mind they spoke again, "Revenge... it is something that can bring about greatness in an individual. Use that hurt. Let it consume your being. Then turn it on those who have killed the ones you loved."
Captain Kira was transfixed by the person's words. The robed figure was absolutely correct. That hurt he felt turned to raging anger. The robed figure pointed a gloved hand in the direction of the capital city. With darkness controlling his heart he began to run again.
-----------------
Master Issac watched Captain Kira go. Unlike Kira, he knew that Sain had followed him to this camp. The probability of him hearing the entire conversation was high. However now was not the time for Issac to reveal his face to anyone. The time for his appearance was soon.
Taking a single step backwards, not turning so that Sain could see him, Issac seemed to fall through the earth. In reality he dropped into his own shadow, teleporting out of this place. He had business elsewhere.

Ryu, still seated in the cushion, looked over at Annalese and then Red. As usual, his face was quite calm and friendly. It almost seemed like nothing could really bother him as he smiled at the lot. "Pleased to meet you." Jean looked over at Red with a reassuring glance. It were as if she were telling him it was alright to be himself now that they were here in her friends' temple.
When Red got up and respectfully bowed to Ryu, the warrior couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "You don't ever have to bow to me, Red." Getting up, Ryu stretched a little. "I probably shouldn't spend so much time meditating. I'm beginning to get stiff and sore!" Ryu mused. Clearly, he was showing signs of acting his age now that the ordeal where he had to be serious was done and over with. At least, that's what it seemed like for now. He had no idea what was taking place at the summit but they were all soon bound to find out.
It didn't take long before Jean too was on her feet. "Thank you, Ryu. It means a lot to us." Ryu just looked back after he stopped stretching and waved it off with a smirk.
"C'mon, Jean! You helped us out a lot too. It's the least we could do for you and your new pals." The way he spoke, it was clear that where his armor looked ronin, he held no accent like a real one probably would have. His speech was more like Jean's and Red's. Annalese had hopped to her feet too as they stood around. Her cup of tea untouched.
"We're happy to have company anyway. Don't get it all that often anymore. So, it's no wonder the guys are so energetic. Rowen especially." Ryu let out a sigh before looking at them. "So, where have you been, Jean? It's been a long time."
Jean looked over at Red when Ryu asked her that question. "Red and I met up in Midgar's slums. I had been on a mission at the time but forget about that now...we became fast friends since a lot of occurrences caused us to band together. Annalese over there, we only just met." Annalese felt a little out of place then when Jean said that but stood her ground. She knew Jean had purposely said nothing about her being a vampire. It was for the sake of covering it up and preventing her from getting into trouble with these humans.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sain had followed the Captain silently. He had no ill will on the man, he was just watching out for his own safety. Unfortunately, when they got to the summit, Sain's eyes were met with a grizzly sight. Smoke trailed up from a pile of bodies. Blood littered the ground all around with swords here and there.
Despite that, he did the best he could to stay out of sight, his broadsword at the ready. Suddenly, as Captain Kira despaired, a hooded figure came out from seemingly nowhere. 'The hell?!' he wondered as the two exchanged words. It was difficult to hear from what they were saying all the way where he was standing from. However, he did distinctly hear the hooded figure tell Kira to embrace the lust for revenge. The words were unnerving as Kira listened to the man.
Seeing him point in the direction of the capital city, Sain watched as Captain Kira took off. Where the look on the captain's face was unsettling, it was nothing like the figure's disappearing that made things more nerve wracking. Standing there for a moment, Sain looked around guardedly. He was sure he was in dangerous territory. Backing away, he soon turned and took off back to the temple. Ryu and the others must hear about this!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't long before Rowen and Dyne returned. Rowen, during the time he had ran off with Dyne, seemed to have accumulated an obvious bruise over his right cheek. Dyne, on the other hand, looked perfectly fine. Obviously, at some point, the two had fought over one thing or another. No doubt, probably because of Rowen and his ways.
Dyne gestured toward the hallway they were coming from, beckoning forth the three to follow him and Rowen. "Your rooms are ready!" Rowen stated, smirking despite the fact he had a nice bruise on his face.
Leading the way down the halls, Dyne pointed at Annalese and Jean once they reached a room. "This is your room, ladies!" Rowen announced with a wink. Jean lightly frowned at Rowen's cheekiness before heading in after Annalese whom had simply skipped inside. Now, it was just the three with Red by himself. Dyne gently grasped Red's shoulder with a smile on his face and gestured to head down the hallway.
Ryu followed too as he walked along with the others who were leading Red along. "How old are you, Red?" Rowen asked out of curiosity. For once, he wasn't acting all that annoying. In fact, he was acting normal now that it was just the four of them. Maybe it was the fact that there was women around that made him act so...annoying? Whatever the case, Rowen seemed to be acting a bit more normal now.
"Any girlfriends?" he questioned teasingly. Ryu lightly fist bumped Rowen's arm. It wasn't painful but it was firm enough to make Rowen get the point Ryu was making.
"Don't corrupt him, Rowen. Jean will have your head for it if you do!" he stated. Rowen sighed as they resumed walking down the hallway. Dyne, looking over at Rowen, looked down at Red and rolled his eyes to show how he found Rowen's attitude such a bother.
"Just so you know, our home is your home for the time being. Do whatever you like, just don't head out of the temple without any of us knowing so you will know any new code names." Ryu had said that to Red before finally, they all stopped. Dyne pointed at Red before opening the door and motioning for him to head in. Inside, Red would find a very large bedroom.

After Ryu's response, Red felt a bit foolish. Maybe he was overdoing it a bit with the bow.... Straightening he walked over to where he had sat before. Picking up the weapon he had tossed off upon his arrival, Red listened to Jean's explanation of her travels.
He had hoped to hear more about what had happened before he had met her. After all he already knew all about the trouble he had gotten her in since the very beginning. Thinking about Midgar, Red found himself wondering just when Jean planned on telling her friends about Silver.
It wasn't his place to say anything about that ordeal, but he thought that they would be the ones who could probably help her. Maybe they could do some snooping into that island that Silver came from. Just thinking about his snake like body sent chills up Red's spine.
When Dyne and Rowin returned, Red was happy to go with them. A few hours of rest would do him good. Following behind Jean, Red watched the two disappear in their own room. Secretly, he hoped he wouldn't be too far away from them. The idea of Jean being close by to help him was always a comfort.
Leaving the girls behind, Red found himself being asked all sorts of ridiculous questions. 'G...g...girlfriend?!" He exclaimed. It was obvious that he had not expected the question. Red's blush was going to have to be answer enough for Rowin.
In all honesty Red never had such a thing. The closest relationship he ever had with a girl was with Big Mama. There really hadn't been much time to have a girlfriend.
"I'm only sixteen. I have plenty of time for a girlfriend." He explained. Hopefully it would be a good enough answer.
At long last they arrived at the room Red was staying in. Entering, he found himself faced with a bed, an overhead pole to hang his clothes, and a small lamp that lit the room. Seeing the bed brought a smile to Red's face.
-----------------------
Captain Kira was a man on a mission. The more he ran, the more angry he became. Images after images from back at the ruined camp only feed his anger. He followed the footsteps that a moving army left behind. It was quite clear that the Huns were on the move.
The thing about an army is that they cannot move as fast. There wasn't that much of a head start. It wouldn't take too long before Kira came upon the moving army. They would not reach the city by night. They would be forced to make camp. When they did, he would strike.
He would go straight for the leader himself, whomever it might be. And if it meant his own death then so be it. At least he could be satisfied with the fact that the person who was responsible for the death of his best friend would be dead as well.
Captain Kira was so caught up in his thoughts, in his anger, that he failed to see the random hooded stranger in the shadows. He followed him through the movement of shadows. All the while the man held a wicked smile.

Jean didn't mention anything on Silver because she wasn't sure how to tell her friends. It would sound crazy telling them her father got possessed by some strange creature from Goblin Island. Maybe she also didn't want to be reminded of that? After all, she only had a year for that damn thing to come out of her father for her to try and remove it permanently from him. As she and Annalese went into their own room, there was two beds in a large room.
It was quite modern than one would expect. Annalese immediately skipped over to one of the beds and leapt onto it. She giggled cheerfully when it lightly bounced her back up a few times. For someone much older than anyone in the temple, Annalese sure acted like a typical teenager...the immature sort.
Both just managed to settle down into their own individual bed. Sleep came to Jean very easily where Annalese didn't need the sleep but closed her eyes anyway.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Rowen chuckled a little seeing the coloring on Red's face. "Look, Red's turning red!" he joked. Dyne just scowled at Rowen for the remark. Ryu just chuckled at that. "Only kidding, Red. You're right...plenty of time!" Rowen mused.
"Well, see you tomorrow, Red. Good night!" Ryu said in farewell before heading off. Dyne bowed once to Red in sign of respect before setting off too.
"Yeah, see ya tomorrow, kid. Night, Red!" Rowen said with a wink before heading off. Boy, did he catch poor Red off guard. As the three walked away, Sain was already half way back to the temple.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Having run most of the way back, in and out of the shadows back to the temple, Sain wondered what had transpired. Some unknown being was encouraging the darkness in one's heart. Who he was, he didn't know. The voice had been obviously male. Where he probably should have tried to stop Captain Kira, it would've been impossible for Sain to catch him at the rate he took off at. That and it probably would've caused Captain Kira to attack him in a blind rage. There was no telling what someone would do when they let the darkness in their heart run free.
By the time the temple came into view, night had fallen. Out of breath, Sain clambered up the snowy slope to the temple. When he was asked for the code name, Sain frowned at Rowen's voice. Reluctantly uttering the same word he had Jean say, Sain entered the temple.
"Remind me to have Ryu make you change that!" Sain grumbled before entering the main lounge room. "B-Bad news!" Sain breathed, plopping into a free cushion. "Captain Kira's men were all killed and some guy just caused him to embrace the darkness!" Sain announced to the other three. Rowen looked at Dyne and Ryu.
"Great, now what are we going to do? Jean might want to try and help him or something!" Rowen stated. They were talking among themselves while the others supposedly slept, unaware if anyone were to come upon them discussing this.

While Red slept soundly, Captain Kira had no time to sleep. He traveled along through the night. It didn't matter how much energy he was using. He needed to reach that army. Watching it he finally came upon the camped army. He had almost blindly charged in sword raised. However Captain Kira wasn't that stupid. He couldn't reach the center of the camp that way. He would have to use stealth. Bent down, he searched for a spot where he might better see the layout of the camp. Noticing a hill not that far off, Captain Kira took the long way around. The climb of the hill was nothing when his mind was filled with rage. All he could think about was his sword plunging into the gut of the man responsible for the death of his best friend.
As he reached the top of the hill he laid down. From this far up he could see the entire camp. "Risking one's life is pretty foolish." The sudden voice made Captain Kira roll to the left. Pushing himself up onto his knees he had sword in hand. Eyes searching, Kira found himself facing the hooded stranger from before.
Kira slowly lowered his sword. He had no idea how the hooded stranger suddenly appeared on the top of the hill. He sat Indian Style with black cloak blending in with the dark of night. His hood was pulled up to hide his face from anyone who might look to the hill. Still not fully trusting this stranger, his inviting demeanor helped Kira to resume the position from before.
"What choice do I have. They need to pay! I am the only one who can do that." Even though Kira's words were kept low there was obvious rage in them.
"Yet you would not get far. Notice the sentries. They cross paths every two minutes. They march around the perimeter. Even if you did get past them, not all of the Huns are asleep. If even a single one sees you its over. But let's say you do. You manage to get to the large tent in the center. You sneak in through the back. It only takes one shout and your dead. Though you probably wouldn't even reach the tent."
Captain Kira eyed the camp below as he listened to the strangers words. As much as he didn't like what he was saying he knew he was right. What could he do? Getting past the border alone would be very difficult. He would have to time it exactly right. Glancing further in the camp Kira made out some Huns still sitting at the fires. While alot seemed to be asleep it was obvious some were awake.
The darkness Kira had let loose caused him to get even angrier. His hands shook in anger. He couldn't just sit here and do nothing! "What can I do then?!" He snapped at the stranger. The stranger slowly turned to face Kira.
"There is no way you could get there the way you are now. However..." The stranger's voice trailed off. He rested his hand on the ground below. As it rested there Kira watched in horror as a heartless came up from the hill.
Kira reacted as most people would. He rolled back and drew his sword. The stranger though did not act that way. His hand moved up and down the heartless's back as if he were petting a pet. "You created that heartless?!" Kira asked worried and accusingly.
The stranger seemed taken back by the words. "Never. For me to create a heartless I would have to be a heartless." The words weren't true, but Kira did not know that. "But you see... This heartless has the answers you seek. Heartless are as misunderstood as the forces that drives these worlds. We see heartless and claim them evil. Yet here is perfect example that they are not. Any stray dog will harm someone if they get to close. However if properly trained... they become man's best friend."
The words were strange. The logic filled with holes. Yet Kira could not say that he was not correct. He brought up points that were easily seen. The demeanor of the heartless itself proved that. "What... what must I do then."
The cloaked stranger turned his head to the camp. "If you wish to get your revenge my friend. You must become like this heartless. You must be able to travel through this camp unnoticed. But to do that... you must become one with the heartless."
If there was a red light in Kira's mind it would have gone off now. Those words themselves would have been enough to show this man's true intentions. However that red light had been made impossible to see because the darkness clouded that vision. All Kira could think about was what he saw back at camp. All the bodies. His best friend beaten to a pulp and head beheaded.
"They need to die." That was his answer. If Kira could see inside of the man's turned hood, he would have seen a smile cross the stranger's lips. "You will not feel a thing." That was the last thing he heard. The last thing Kira saw was the heartless at the stranger's side turn its head. Its yellow beady eyes turned on Kira.
Captain Kira did not scream. Even when the heartless devoured its heart he did not scream. After all by this time he had become a heartless himself.

Annalese only opened her eyes as she heard voices down the hall. They weren't loud enough for human ears, the voices but loud enough for a vampire like her to hear. Rolling over silently in her bed, she looked over at Jean at the mention of her. Confused, she listened a bit further. Something had gone wrong, judging by the voices but no one was in immediate danger right now.
Jean, on the other hand, was oblivious to what Annalese was hearing as she slept. She was having a strange dream too. In it, she saw her father and was reminded of that creature thing that called itself Silver. Scrunching her nose in disgust at the memory and yelling at it in her dream, Jean's dream turned to another thing.
Red and her four friends were all in it. The dream made no sense at all. From being involved in a random confrontation with Silver, she was now involved in another random battle. In it, she was fighting alongside Red and her ronin pals. Annalese, on the other hand, was nowhere to be seen. One by one, her friends were being killed. A nightmare is more so what Jean found herself stuck in, not a regular dream.
The remaining two standing, other than herself, had been Red and Ryu. Everyone else had been killed off. Diving in front of Red and Jean, Ryu died from stopping a blow that would've hit them. Jean didn't wake though until Red was killed next. Hearing that monk's voice from their time in Gaia, it made Jean sit up. Looking around, realizing where she was, she breathed a sigh of relief. "You alright?" came Annalese's voice.
Jean looked over at her and nodded before drifting off into sleep again.
-------------------------------------
"We can't do anything until the morning. Only then will we tell them. It's not like we can help Kira now with everyone tired." It had been Ryu who made the final decision. Sain and Dyne nodded at that and got up. Ryu looked back over at Rowen, whom had remained seated in the cushion. Ryu raised a curious eyebrow at him. Rowen just shrugged at him in response. Getting up, Ryu patted his friend on the shoulder before heading off.
"Rest up, buddy. We're going to need your strength for whatever we might be dealing with tomorrow and the days to come. You wouldn't want to disappoint Jean, would you?" Rowen sighed in exasperation before getting up and following the other three. Each went into their own rooms and went to sleep.
--------------------------------------
The next day, Jean woke up during the early morning hours. Quietly, since Annalese appeared to be sleeping, Jean left the room. Straightening her faint blue hair, she tied it back up into a ponytail before heading into the dining room. No one else seemed to be awake just yet. So, in the peace and quiet, Jean breathed with relief. She had only just a nightmare. No one was dead.
"What a dream." Her voice had been low and hard to hear. Seating herself on a cushion, Jean briefly enjoyed the silence as she waited for others to show signs of waking. She didn't have long to wait before someone made their appearance.
It was Ryu whom had come out of the hall and entered the dining room next. Unlike last night, he wasn't adorned in his armor right now. Just wearing casual clothing, much like that of Jean in a sense showing how foreign of this world he and his comrades were, Ryu sat down in a cushion next to her. "You're up early."
Looking up at her long time friend, Jean sighed. "Yeah, had a rough sleep...I'm good now though." Ryu's expression changed to somewhat concerned.
"Had a bad dream?" he inquired, his tone of voice gentle and low so as to not disturb anyone else still sleeping. Jean hated to admit it but she nodded. Since she gave no further indication of how bad it was, Ryu placed a hand on Jean's shoulder. "If it's about us dying again, you know we won't abandon you like that, Jean." Hearing that, Jean couldn't help but look up at Ryu in amazement. How the heck did he know that? Then again, she forgot how much Ryu understood her compared to the others. She had trained them all and it was because of her that they were at the level they were at, probably even more so now. Ryu had been the strongest of the four and trained with her the most. It wouldn't be a surprise to her if he was her level now.
"Thanks, Ryu." With that, she had placed a hand on his and held it firm. It was mainly for reassurance that she did that. Ryu just smiled over at her as they locked eyes. It faded though once the memory of last night came to mind.
"There's something we need to tell you. When everyone's awake, I'll let you know...until then, lets get something to eat." Getting to his feet, Ryu headed over to the kitchen with Jean in tow.

Red was experiencing a dream. It was a dream he had never had before. In the dream, Red was a baby. He was wrapped tightly in a blanket and someone was holding him. He could not see the face of his holder, but he could feel her sorrow. She was crying, holding him tightly against her. Her voice spoke in the air, but he could not understand what she was saying.
“Can't we protect him? Why must we give him up?” They were words that Red could not yet fathom their meaning. His holder spoke to another man. This man Red could see. He was a blur of brown and white with no hair on his head. His colors shuffled through the room as if he were searching for something.
Not pausing the man responded. “You know that answer. We don't have a choice. Big Mama made it very clear.” The words were lost in Red's ears as a hand appeared within his grasp. Taking a finger in his grasp, his attention was fixed solely on the finger.
Before he knew it, the brisk air of outside weather struck his face. His little cheeks began to redden. It was the dark of night and the only sound Red heard were the tap tap tap of their footsteps. They turned this way and that, and it was obvious from their footsteps and the feelings Red received from his holder that trouble was about.
It wasn't long before their movement came to a stop. “Hurry up. We need to leave.” The voice belonged to the man. There was hesitancy in his holder. Red could tell. Yet that hesitancy was only for a second. Red was lowered onto a porch.
Looking up at last Red saw the face of his holder. It was a woman, with blond hair, plump cheeks, and odd yellow colored eyes. Red's small arms raised in sign that he wanted the woman to pick him up. Tears swelled in the woman's eyes, and Red's confusion soon turned to sadness and fear as the woman turned and walked away.
Waking up suddenly, Red remembered every bit of the dream. It was a very odd thing to experience, that was for sure. In all honesty Red didn't know what to make of it. Figuring that even though it was still a bit early, some people had to be up, Red left the room.
Still sleepy, Red made his way through the hall until at last he came upon Jean and Ryu sitting side by side talking. Without a thought of hesitation, he walked right over to Jean and leaned on Jean's shoulder. After a yawn escape his lips he said, ”Morning.”

As Ryu headed into the kitchen after speaking to Jean, he grabbed hold of the food to prepare for their breakfast. The others would surely wake up soon. If Red had been up earlier, he would've noticed that Ryu wasn't using the oven to cook the food. In fact, the cooking didn't really last that long. It was abnormally fast. Why was that? Well, Ryu just used his hands instead of pans. When he had to use something that required a pot, he merely held it in his hand. His hands glowed a red color like that of embers in a fireplace. Whatever he was doing, his hands must've been hot enough since the food had cooked in a very very short amount of time. It was surprising none of it got burnt.
Jean had followed Ryu into the kitchen for a moment to watch what he was doing. "I see you've gotten more skilled with your fire." Yes, she could clearly see that with the way he was cooking breakfast in the blink of an eye practically. He was pretty skilled in this. The last time she knew him, he had been unable to cook food like this. In fact, she remembered how often he would burn things, making Sain and Rowen protect the food from him because they had gotten tired of food supplies getting burnt.
Smiling in response, Ryu spoke. "I learned from the best, after all. True, you never used fire powers except for that special one of your's but it's because of you that I was able to better myself." Jean was happy to hear that. The improvement could really benefit her and Red's case. They would need all the help they could get. Ryu had been one of Jean's strongest allies. She knew she could rely on him if things got way too hectic.
"I'm happy to hear you've gotten better at it. I'm not one to claim full responsibility though." Ryu just shrugged at what she said. In his opinion, it was because of her that they all had advanced, he and the other three here. Each of the four's motivation was different though. Yet, it was because of that, they were able to advance in skill ever since and made a great team. With Jean added into the mix, they were almost unstoppable.
Jean wondered what Ryu meant about what it was they needed to talk to her about. She would've questioned him further but he hadn't left her any room to press on the matter. Ryu had deliberately gone and busied himself with breakfast. The way he did it, none of the other guys could possibly do so. After all, Ryu was the only one whose powers were solely based on flames. There was a technique only he knew though that also set him a level above the other three. The process complicated and very taxing on him which was why it was only used in situations where all else was impossible.
By the time Red came upon them, the two had returned to the dining room with plates all around. Ryu suspected the scent alone would attract the others from bed. He probably was right because Jean's young friend, Red had arrived on the scene. Jean almost leapt out of her skin when Red suddenly appeared, greeting her and Ryu. None the less, she got over it quickly as she grinned up at him. She didn't mind the fact that he had leaned on her shoulder.
"Morning, Red! Have a good sleep?" she questioned him.
"Nice to see you, Red. Help yourself to some breakfast!" Ryu greeted him as he indicated the plates of food on the table. There was a plate for each guest. Apparently, Ryu knew his other three friends enough to know they would arrive on the scene soon enough. Already, they were beginning to trickle in. Slowly but surely.
It was Dyne whom had woken up other than Ryu, Jean and Red. Like Ryu, he too was dressed in casual clothing. However, his dark brown hair was messed up on one side, indicating that he hadn't bothered fixing his hair just yet. Stretching and giving a soundless yawn, Dyne plopped himself across from the other three. Looking blearily over at them for a moment, he gave them a sleepy smile before giving them a friendly wave in greeting. Once he did that, he started eating. He hadn't really bothered to rub his eyes clear of the sleep as he merely ate.

Breakfast looked..... delicious... that was the right word. Red hadn't waken up in time to see Ryu cook it, but it really didn't matter much to him. Taking the fork next to his plate he didn't wait any longer to dig in.
Responding to the question Jean posted earlier between bites Red said, "I slept alright. Had a strange dream but this meal makes up for it." Looking up at Ryu, Red couldn't help but give him a smile in appreciation. The food after all was really good.
If Red hadn't known any better he would have guessed that Ryu had been a chief. If this was what he and Jean got to eat everyday, staying here wasn't going to be that bad at all. Hardly even hearing Dyne enter the room, Red's eyes perked up upon noticing his bed hair. Seeing it made Red wonder about his own hair. Did he have bed hair too?
Hands going to his head, he couldn't help but stroke his hair in attempt to make it all straight. It wasn't long before the rest of their party entered. Waiting until everyone had taken their seats and begun eating, Red turned to Jean. "What's on the agenda for today?" Of course he had no clue as to what news Ryu had to tell them about their friend Captain Kira.

Ryu was far from being a chef. If Red knew him back when Jean did, he would actually find this surprising. Ryu wasn't the best chef in the past. More often than not, he burnt the food. Sain used to be the cook for them all much to his chagrin. Now that Ryu had become more skilled, the others preferred Ryu's cooking over anyone else.
Dyne, in the middle of eating, paused after a moment and blinked. Wiping away at his sleepy eyes, he looked at Red as the youth raised his hand to his own hair. Like Red, Dyne was now wondering about his own hair. Lifting a hand to see what state his hair was in, Dyne's face reddened a little with embarrassment. He had come to the breakfast table with bed hair in front of their guests.
Hurriedly, he straightened out his hair but it was all for naught. Why was that? Well, Rowen had shown up and when he did, he gave Red AND Dyne a playful ruffling of their hair. "Hey guys, morning!" Rowen greeted, all smiles. Dyne just gave him a very flat look. His hair, like Red's, all in a tizzy and sticking up in odd angles thanks to Rowen. Rowen, on the other hand, just smiled innocently back despite knowing what he had done.
Sain had shown up soon after and now everyone but Annalese was there. It wasn't until after Red asked Jean what was on the agenda when she finally came skipping into the room. She didn't look the least bit tired. Ryu finally looked up from his own bowl of food.
"We've got something to discuss before we decide on anything else...now that everyone's here, we can get down to it." Ryu no sooner said this when all eyes turned to Sain. Sain sighed as he stopped eating for a moment. Looking at Red and Jean, he breathed.
"I followed Captain Kira last night. Apparently, someone had caused him to embrace the darkness, after the discovery his men were all slaughtered. Kira embraced it and now is running off to the capital...he might already be there now. I'm not sure exactly how far in the darkness he is now but...it's not looking good." Dyne didn't do anything except look down at his plate of food. It looked like he was pitying Kira's situation. Rowen's usual cheerful mood had seemed to vanish, his face serious.
"...That's...that's horrible." Jean remembered the general they had dealt with not but a day ago. He and the entire army they met was dead! Her bright green eyes went from Sain and Ryu to Red and Annalese. Annalese looked mildly surprised. Apparently, blood baths were nothing new to her, it seemed.
"Maybe there's still time. Maybe we can stop Kira before he completely loses himself to the darkness?" she suggested, looking at Red as if questioning him as to what he thought about the matter. Rowen sighed in response.
"Your guess is as good as our's. It's unlikely that he isn't taken over by the darkness now. You, of all people, should know that, Jean." It had been Sain that spoke. Rowen looked over at Sain and frowned at him. It hadn't exactly been a nice way of saying things, especially to their long time friend.
"Even still, I would feel better knowing I at least tried to help." Her gaze was firmly locked with Sain's bright blue eyes. It wasn't long before Sain looked back down at the table and nodded, muttering an apology. "It's alright, I see where you're coming from but we've got to try."
"You humans enjoy getting yourselves into trouble, don't you?" Annalese inquired. Rowen and Dyne looked at the girl in wonder then. Wasn't she a human too?

Damn Rowen and his ruining of hair! Once Rowen had finished his task of rubbing Red's hair everywhere and had taken his seat, Red attempted to fix it again. Trying to straighten it by running his hand through it, Red's attention was pulled from his hair when Sain began his discussion.
Apparently everyone in Captain Kira's army was dead... How could that be? It was hard for Red to imagine such things happening after having been there yesterday. There had been no signs of any worry in the camp beyond the point that the sentries had gone missing. For an army of that size to be destroyed.... Red didn't even want to finish the thought. Whoever had defeated the army had alot of troops.
Listening further, Red wondered who this stranger that Sain spoke of. "How does one even embrace the darkness?" Red said to himself aloud. He didn't know such a thing was possible. He just figured that people who were truly evil were born that way. He had no clue as to what happened to someone when they submitted to the darkness. It was a new subject for him.
Listening to Jean's response, Red felt the same way. He couldn't just sit by and do nothing. As much as Captain Kira hindered their party, he was someone worth rescuing. Every person had a right to life and Kira had no one to save him from what was happening. Red stood from the table.
Gone was the sleepy young teen. Red was all the bit of an adult as he acted at this moment. "I agree with Jean. We can't just sit by and do nothing. How long will it take us to reach the capital. Is there anyway we can get there faster then just walking."
-----------------------
The man in the hooded cloak watched the burning tents. The scene paved before him looked similar to the camp back at the foot of the mountain. The only difference was that there was no pyre with burning bodies. The bodies of the Huns laid throughout the camp. All of them seemed to have been torn apart as if some beast had torn their limbs off.
Standing to his side was the heartless that was once known as Captain Kira. It remained some of its humanoid figure but beyond that it was nothing more then a beast. It had long sharp claws for hands and talons for feet. Its mouth was the mix of a human and a heartless with glowing yellow eyes. Black spikes ripped down its back and it could not stand straight. It hovered on all fours like a dog.
"Continue your revenge. Take the lives of those who put your friends into danger." That was the only thing that had to be said for the heartless to turn and sprint on all fours towards the capital city. Chaos had only just begun.

Rowen inwardly chuckled after having messed Dyne's and Red's hair. He had done it purposely just to get on their nerves a little. It was all in good fun though. He didn't mean any real harm in doing that.
Now that they were all on the subject of what happened to Captain Kira, it looked like everyone was set on helping the guy out. It was because of Jean's and Red's words that they would put in the effort. Ryu stood up and nodded toward the others. Rowen reluctantly got off the cushion after finishing his meal and set off to go and get dressed in his armor like the other two.
"Alright, if that's what you want to do...then we're with you all the way." Ryu looked serious when he said it. There wasn't a doubt in Jean's mind that they would come along. They weren't going to let them do this on their own. Annalese just rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"I guess that answers my question!" she stated with a sigh after hearing it all. Jean looked over at her and then back at Red.
"Well, I'm not sure how we can get there faster other than walking..." she trailed off, looking over at Ryu questioningly. Ryu just smirked back at her.
"No need to worry about that, Rowen could move us from here to there. His stellar powers could levitate us from here to there." With that, Ryu turned and headed off. "I'll be back with the rest of the guys, gotta get my armor on or I'm useless."
Jean got up and stood next to Red. "Out of the pan and into the fire, huh?" she stated with a sigh. Things just never seemed to go right for them, did it? "As for embracing the darkness, it means opening your heart to the darkness. Letting rotten emotions like anger or greed take over you and fill your heart."

Battle.... in all honesty Red didn't find much joy in it. He was thrown into it only because he had to, never because he wanted to. However living a life where you were constantly on the run, battles seemed to come hand in hand with it. For that reason Red trained with his weapon. He made sure that if it came down to a battle, he would have the strength to pull through.
Listening to Jean's explanation of how one embraced the darkness caused him to feel uneasy. Red had let some of his darker emotions get control of his heart before. But maybe that was just part of being human. Maybe everyone had a little bit of darkness in their hearts. It must be when one embraces that darkness that things become troublesome.
"I'm going to go fetch my blade." Turning about, Red headed back to his room. As he threw his sheath over his shoulder, he couldn't help but sigh. They had just gotten here and once again they were rushing into danger. Was this what was to become of his life? Constantly running only to rush in at the last second.
It was a troublesome thought, but one that Red pushed away for now. Making his way back to the common room, Red was not surprised to find that everyone was ready for battle. "I hope were not to late." He said to Jean upon returning. Turning to Rowen he waited for him to take them to the capital city. It was time once again to fight.
-----------------------
Captain Kira.... No..... Beast.... The man who had once been known as Captain Kira was no more. All that was left was an animal driven only by pure emotion. It rushed through the city gates, jumping over them with a single jump. As it landed on the other side the two guards that were stationed on the front gate looked up in surprise.
There was not time for them to even raise their weapons. Kira's claws ripped through their skulls crushing their exposed heads. Falling to all fours, Kira ran across the court yard. For the most part he did not head towards any single person. The courtyard was not fully filled, but their were enough people to notice the odd running creature.
Anyone who managed to get in Kira's way though found themselves victims to its sharp claws. Continuing on, Kira was forced to do combat with two guards who had spears ready in front of the gate. They were the guards stationed in front of the Emperor's palace. The battle didn't last long. The soldiers were no match for Kira's chaotic style of fighting.
The last thing the bleeding soldiers heard were the running footsteps of Kira as he made his way through the palace. Nothing would stop the heartless from its prey... The Emperor.

Annalese just remained put as everyone else scurried off to get their things. She hadn't any problems with the idea of going off to fight somewhere. Fighting had been her life for the most part being what she was. She had to defend herself many times because people assumed she was pure evil being a vampire. Sometimes she just wished she was just human instead of a pure blood vampire. It would save her the hassle when meeting new people.
Jean waited as everyone got ready. She didn't have to go and get her swords because she always carried them wherever she went. It would be folly to not keep them almost always at her side. She had learned from the times when she didn't bring her weapons along. All situations then weren't pretty and she had been lucky to get out of them when she did. Ever since then, Jean made it a habit of keeping them nearby.
By the time Red returned, she nodded in agreement to what he said. "I hope so too...if we are...things will be much harder than it would be if we were on time." It didn't take long for the others to arrive on the scene. Once they did, Annalese got off her cushion and walked up to them.
"I'm coming along...my brother might be around." She had almost said when there was bloodshed but she remembered that slipping up would result in her being scrutinized again being what she was. Not wanting to go through that trouble, Annalese held her tongue.
Rowen looked around after tightening his gloves. Seeing that everyone was gathered, he smirked. This was his element. Where Ryu was the leader, none of the others could do what Rowen could. It was his own specialty. "Alright guys and gals, it's time we head out. Hang on!" he stated. Raising his palms in front of him, an invisible sphere surrounded them all. Gently a force underneath them picked them up and slowly headed outside the temple. Once they were out, they shot forth toward the capital like a bullet.
It didn't take them long to get where they wanted to go. In the blink of an eye, they were in the capital's walls. Rowen faced his hands onto the ground and the sphere lowered them down gently. Releasing them, Rowen rubbed his hands together. "Here we are!" he stated smugly. It wasn't until then that he noticed the state of things. "Whoa! There's been some kind of fight going on here...ew."
Sain looked at the corpses laying nearby. "More like a slaughter than a fight. It looks like there wasn't much of a fight before these guys were killed." Dyne gripped his weapon carefully. Unlike Sain's broadsword, Dyne had a staff sword. Jean looked around uneasily. Did Kira do this?
"Lets all stay close and head for the palace...fast!" she stated before leading the way, Ryu right behind her.
