Picking at the cement wall she was sitting on with her finger, Kay could feel the dirt get stuck beneath her finger nail. Squinting her eyes as she wiped her hands on her white skirt, she noticed the ever hot sun that was positioned high above Twilight Town. It appeared to be stuck in the position it was in. The sun above Twilight Town always appeared to be setting, but in reality it never moved from its comfortable position in the sky.
Kay swung her legs back and forth, away from the cement wall and towards it once more. She couldn't help but think that she had nothing to do with her life. She wasn't a nobody, but she constantly felt as if she was just there; Just like a spec on the radar that no one paid attention to. No one had a need to notice her, and Kay kept herself unnoticed. She was just a face in a passing crowd.
Looking down away from the setting sun, Kay's eyes softened once more. She was tempted to find some shade, but the sun felt warm against her body. After being in the World that Never Was, it had been a wonderful relief.
Looking up, Kay saw the train station entrance. There was no one on the platform and that seemed weird. There was always someone for Kay to bump into white up here. Most of the time there were people boarding trains that led to the opposite side of Twilight Town. Kay had never been there, but she had always thought about going. She had no reason not to; perhaps just pure laziness. Kay thought to herself that perhaps the train station was closed, but there was no sign. Maybe there was a bigger event within Twilight Town that was drawing people there instead of the train station.
A level below was the Market Plaza. No doubt there would be people there. Kay had seen them all when she had headed up to the station. It was strange that there had been no people here, but Kay's guess was as good as any others as to why there were no people.
Still sitting on the cement wall, Kay looked about the area, waiting for anything to show up and lighten her dull life.
