Red did not hear the creatures over the rush of the water. Ogre had slipped past the camp as well and had now entered the jungle. However Red was not aware of that either. He was to busy looking for that rock. He knew it had to be here somewhere! All he had to do was find it.
Apparently finding moss was harder then he thought. Red looked left and right. The further he walked the more he began to wonder if he was lost. Hadn't he passed that tree before? It was so hard to tell the way he was going in all of this!
A sudden sound behind him made him stop. Had he run into some sort of creature in the forest? Turning around, Red found himself faced to face with a real monkey! It was a strange thing to see in the woods. It hung from a tree, its small shape and black beedy eyes starring at Red in curiosity.
Red smiled. Monkeys! He had heard about the creatures from books, but this was his first time seeing one. Red reached into his pocket and pulled out a small cracker he had saved from dinner. He held out his hand. "Here you are." He told it.
The creature hissed at first. It didn't trust him. Yet Red kept his hand outstretched doing his best to give him a smile. The creature moved slowly taking cautious steps before it snatched the cracker out of Red's fingers.
It retreated to the tree before it ate the cracker. Red watched it in silence. When it finished it hissed once more before disappearing in the tree. What an odd monkey."[/i] Red thought to himself.
He set out once again. He didn't know that by stopping he had cost himself precious time. The sea creatures were only yards behind him. And behind them, Ogre was not far behind.

Annalese was surprised by the strength of the sea creature she just attacked. Having grabbed hold of her whip, it tugged on it with all its might. The force was so strong, it yanked Annalese out of the tree and onto the ground in a heap. Coughing up dirt, she got to her feet again, hissing at the creatures.
Sensing Red nowhere, she guessed that he hadn't noticed the commotion he left behind him. Well, at least he wasn't here to get hurt then.
"Why are you doing this?" she growled at them, facing them with her whip in hand.
----------------------------------------------
Jean, Rowen and Sain faced off one side of the camp of sea creatures while Ryu and Dyne the other. Red would surely return to chaos if he were to start heading back soon.

The creatures that Annalese fought did not answer back. Well they did, but not with words. Instead the lot of them all charged at her at once. It was either take them all on or run! The creatures didn't care. They weren't like heartless. They were smart. They attacked in unison, yet kept in formation. They had no need to run over one another in attempts to get to her. They covered each others flank. It was almost as if they were human.
------------------
Back at camp, Captain White was awoken to the sound of a call to arms. It was the voice of the FIrst Mate of course. But why would he be calling a call to arms? They were on land. The island wasn't habitied as far as he had known. Nor would their be a reason to come here either. The treasure was a lie.
He had only told it so that he could convince the pirates to get on land. They had to if they were going to be safe from the....
Captain White had just enough time to draw his sword as a scaled hand pulled back the tent of his flap. He didn't waste a second. His arm leaped forward, stabbing into the creatures chest. Pushing the enemy off his blade, Captain White entered the night. It was complete chaos. The sea creatures had returned! With twice their numbers!
Pirates he had called friends were dying left and right because of him. Even as he stepped forward he watched the jailor fall as three of the creatures ganged up on him. He went down fighting, but he did not rise back up. "Awake you fools! Were being attacked!"
It was not Captain White's voice. It was the first mate. Captain White was too stunned to do anything.
-------------------
Red found it! The moss covered rock! He found it in the end of the forest, and the foot of the mountains. He must have come a long way to reach all the way here! "Well guess I can head back now that I found it." He said to himself.
Turning around Red froze in place. Three of the sea creatures stepped from the forest, shown by the moonlight. "What are you guys doing all the way out here?" He asked them. Their answer was to show their teeth. Red had a feeling that wasn't a friendly answer.

It was practically pure mayhem in the camp. Everywhere, people were fighting sea creatures. The things weren't easy to fell either. Jean might have caught some unaware but these things were no pushovers. What was worse was that she had to fight in the situation she was in. If only she could have had time to do something about her problem.
She managed to keep it unnoticed so far though, save for the only people who did know of it. None of them said anything about it though, thankfully. So, her pride was safe for the most part.
---------------------------------------------------
Annalese bared her fangs at them threateningly. Despite her strength, their power was close to her's. The only thing was they were mortal compared to her. She didn't die by normal means so slashing her wouldn't do her much harm. Even still, there were quite a number of them.
Whipping one that came to close with her whip, Annalese leapt backwards to avoid the others and try to make it so that only a few were coming at her at a time. There was no way she could handle twenty altogether.

There was battles being raged everywhere. Back at camp, Captain White, was going all out. His saber moved as fast as his arm would allow it. Slashing right and left. The creatures were tough, but steel slashed them as well as it might any human.
He fought back to back with the first mate. Even with one arm, the man was a formidable opponent. He did not wield a saber like most pirates. Instead he used a chain around his fist like a whip. It seemed to bite into the enemy as it knocked them from one after another.
They fended off the enemies well enough, but there were alot of the creatures. And they had attacked during the middle of the night. By now half of their crew was most likely dead or dying. The rest were out of their tents fighting to the bitter end.
Captain White's hand curved and slashed across the creature's torso twice. It was the last of the creatures around them. Taking a short break, White glanced around. They had fell ten of the creatures between the two of them.
"Is that it then?" The first mate asked, breathing hard. Captain White couldn't see any more of the creatures at the moment.
"For now." he answered.
--------------------
Artemis had witnessed the exchange between Ogre and Jean. He had been awoken when Ogre's portal had appeared right outside his tent. He had followed him in the darkness where the battle between Ogre and Jean had taken place. When the creatures arrived, Artemis was too forced into a choice. He could either follow Ogre, or fight with Jean against the creatures.
He had enough faith in the pirates and Jean to be alright. So he followed Ogre. He followed him through the forest with a matter of ease. He decided to take a similar route that Annalese had taken. Hopping from one tree to the next, he watched Ogre make his way through the stream.
When they came to the stream, Artemis was a bit surprised to see Annalese in combat with the sea creatures. "So they had attacked here as well."[/i] He thought.
Ogre managed to get by unnoticed, surrounding himself in a cloak of darkness again. He made it across the water way fairly easily. It was at about that time that Annalese jumped back in order to dodge the coming onslaught. There were about twenty of the creatures. Even a vampire would have a hard time with that many enemies. Especially since their strength was fairly equal.
Red would just have to manage Ogre himself. Artemis had to help Annalese. He leaped from the trees just as one of the creatures circled around her. At the same time three of the creatures were attacking from the front. Drawing his dagger, Artemis fell from the sky just as the creature went to attack Annalese's back. His dagger collided with the creature's skull. Artemis felt the life of creature suck right out of it as it was absorbed into his own blood stream, making him stronger.
------------------------------------
Red knew that this was danger. Something was wrong with the creatures. They were going to attack him. Somehow he just knew it! Holding out his hand, Red called for his keyblade.... and nothing happened! "Wha...what?" Stunned Red could only back up as the creatures closed in.
Unlucky for him his back hit a tree. Just as a creature ran at him, its claws ripping to tear his throat out, Red ducked and rolled behind the tree. Red heard the sound of impact as the creatures claws tore into the tree itself.
Stretching out his hand, Red tried to call for his keyblade again. "Why isn't it coming?!"[/i] The three creatures walked from behind the tree. Red had just gotten to his feet again. Seeing that their opponent did not have their guard up, the creatures leaped all at once. Red could only watch as their claws and sharp teeth came closer and closer.

Jean didn't stop until she started seeing less and less sea creatures in the area. When there wasn't anymore, she was able to finally sheath her swords. 'Finally, they've gone down!' she thought. She didn't think that had been all of them though. There certainly had to be more. Were they waiting for a second wave of them already? The thought was unsettling. Why weren't they obeying the pirates anymore? Had something gone wrong?
She turned to the others. The only ones in the camp appeared to be that of Rowen, Dyne, Sain, Ryu and Lakari other than herself. Artemis, Red and Annalese were all missing! Forgetting about her shirt problem again, she walked over to the guys. "Has anyone seen Artemis, Red or Annalese?" she asked them.
"Uh...h-here!" stated Sain, handing her a shirt. "T-To cover up!" he said. Jean's face turned red again. She really needed to watch out for that as she pulled on the new temporary shirt. Of course, she had only a tear but it was an awkward tear in the previous shirt that she wore under it. With that problem solved, they were able to focus on where the others might have gone. "I don't see Red anywhere but last I knew, he had gone into the forest before this all started!" she stated. "Ogre had come too!"
"...Ogre?" questioned Ryu.
"A former friend of Red's who showed his true colors back on Red's homeworld. We need to find Red quickly!" she stated before heading into the forest. Compared to Artemis, Annalese and Ogre, they were further behind them all.
---------------------------------------------------------
Annalese knew when she was outnumbered but she wasn't afraid. If she got wounded, she would be wounded. She wouldn't die by normal means if these things believed killing her with their teeth and claws would be enough. Even when one scratched her, the wound sealed up. It was because of Red's blood that her condition for a vampire was normal again. Wounds immediately sealed up that weren't doused with holy water.
She managed to take down one sea creature but there were so many, that didn't do much. Jumping back, so that only a few would come at her at once, she lashed her whip at those that came too close. She gave a start when something from on high came crashing down onto a sea creature.
"Human who loves the shadows?" she exclaimed, a bit surprised. He had gotten one of the things behind her. Hissing, Annalese wrapped her whip about one and threw it back into three of its friends.

Red's death was prevented. But it was no hero that had come to his rescue. One moment the creatures were seconds away, the next they were cut by a keyblade striking from the darkness. At first Red was confused. He saw no one. Just a keyblade slashing one sea creature after the other. They dropped to the floor like flies, long gashes oozing blood.
Only when the last of the creatures were dead, did he rise back to his feet. The keyblade looked similar, which was odd because the only keyblades he'd seen were his own, that evil man's, and Alder's. Yet Red could have sworn he'd seen it before. Whoever was wielding the keyblade was surrounded in darkness. The weapon slowly raised until it was pointed at Red's chest.
Taking a deep breath he waited to see what would happen. Slowly the darkness faded until it revealed.... Ogre! Red hadn't recognized him at first. He was older now. But there was no mistaking those eyes. Red half expected a smile from Ogre, but he knew he would not receive one. Not after what had happened.
"Why are you here?" It was a simple question. One that even a one year old could answer. Yet Ogre could not. He said nothing. His face showed nothing but sorrow.
Then he exploded into action. Darkness cloaked Ogre once again and the keyblade came flying across the area, slashing at Red.
-----------------------
Between the vampire and the assassin, the sea creatures did not stand a chance. The few that tried to circle around them, met Artemis's cruel dagger. From the moment it touched their skin, they started to try and escape. After the third enemy fell, they were not too eager to attack him held on.
They did form a circle around the two of them though. There was enough space between trees to do so. They had stopped attacking Annalese as well. Artemis counted ten of them left. His eyes never left the enemy, but he spoke to Annalese. "Can you handle five?" He was sure that Annalese could, but he wanted to make sure she was good with going on the offense.

Jean lead the way into the forest. She wasn't sure of where to go but they had to do something! Last she knew, Red had gone in this general direction. He couldn't have gone too far without them. Letting her instincts guide her, Jean prayed the kid would be alright by the time they reached him. Maybe Artemis and Annalese were with him? It was a slim chance but one she was hoping would prove true.
It were almost as if she were in the military branch again. Running, she knew she had to move it since time wasn't waiting for them. She could hear Rowen, Sain, Dyne and Ryu following her closely. All of them had their weapons out and ran like there was no tomorrow. Would they make it in time?
-----------------------------------------------
Annalese and Artemis held their own quite well. Where the sea creatures were equal in strength, they couldn't take Artemis and Annalese. Eventually, it came all down to just ten sea creatures. Annalese bared her fangs as she hissed at the ones she faced, her back turned to Artemis. In the fight, she had accepted the fact that they were allies here and she didn't have to worry about him hurting her anymore.
When he asked her if she could handle five, Annalese snorted. "If I had to, I would've fought them all by myself! Five isn't anything!" she stated, lashing her whip out at two, causing them to stumble into their companions next to them.

Artemis attacked the same time Annalese did. His dagger was all that he needed. He charged the first creature, slashing at the opponent's face. As two other sought to attack him from the side, he fell to a crouch. Kicking out, his feet swept one of the attackers.
Dagger stabbing, it collided with the downed creature's face just as he tried to rise. Still their were four more to go. One tried to attack while he was still on the ground. That enemy found a dagger stabbing its heart as he rose. Leaving three left, Artemis downed two more with quick jabs.
That left only one. Oddly enough it was the one had had cut before. Artemis waited for the enemy to attack. But it seemed to realize that none of its allies were left. Artemis and Annalese had downed them all. With no reenforces the creature knew it was fighting a loosing battle. It turned tail and ran.
-------------------
Red held out his hand once more. This time the keyblade came! He brought it up just as the opponent's descended in a slash. Red would not attack Ogre. He still viewed him as a friend. And despite everything that had happened, he forgave him. So he only defended.
Ogre came at him with powerful strikes. He attacked one right after another forcing him to step back. They were not easy attacks to defend. However Ogre had learned, he was being taught by a master. Red did not have that sort of training. He did though have more field experience. Because of that he was able to use the best of his situation. While he could not see Ogre, he was sure that the man was focused on attacking.
If Red lead the attack where he could get something between himself and the opponent, perhaps he could make Ogre stopped. That opportunity came when Red found his back to a tree. He couldn't move any further back. But as Ogre's attack came he ducked instead of blocking. Pivoting behind the tree, he turned about.
"Ogre! Stop this!"

Annalese proceeded to take advantage of the situation she had caused when she knocked those into their comrades. Lashing the whip more powerfully, she aimed at the heads of the things. The lashes sent nasty scars down some of the five's faces. Darting at one, she snapped its neck with a twist from clasping the head in both of her hands.
Others, she would kick into a tree or rock and their spines would crunch in half, killing them. Eventually, they were down to just one. The remaining sea creature seemed to realize this and turned away and fled for its life.
"You'd better run!" she snarled after it before turning to Artemis.
"Thanks for your help...Red is somewhere ahead!" she stated. Somehow, she was able to remember the fact Red had gone on ahead. He had unknowingly left her behind to deal with the large number of sea creatures, both of whom he hadn't a clue had been there in the first place.

Ogre walked from behind the tree. Red had his arm blade sitting next to him. Ogre simply continued to walk towards him. Either Ogre was not capable of responding. Or he wouldn't. Either way it didn't matter. His actions spoke words all their own.
He didn't bother with a cloud of darkness this time. He attacked head on with even more strength then before. Red studied his face as each swing was packed with more and more anger. It didn't take long before he was attacking in blind rage.
Red just didn't understand. Why was he so angry? Where was this anger coming form? The Ogre he knew was a joker. He made them all laugh! Where was that Ogre? He had to be in there somewhere.
The thing about attacking in blind rage was that Ogre's attacks became predictable. Red somehow knew that his next strike would be a horizontal slash. Red stepped to the right and brought his own keyblade in a vertical attack. The blade slammed into Ogre throwing him off his feet and cutting into his skin. It was Red's lack of strength that prevented the blade from slicing right through.
Ogre was thrown to the ground. "Stop this! Why do you keep attacking me? What happened to you? Why are you trying to kill me?"
Ogre's response was laughter. It was the laughter of a sad sad man. "What happened! What happened! You left us! It's all your fault! When you left everything went to chaos! You threw us away for your new family. Well this is what happens when you leave your friends to their deaths!"
Darkness surrounded Ogre once again, Red was too stunned to even answer. The keyblade flew forward as he charged again. Red's arms felt like they weighed a hundred pounds. He barley got them up in time to defend the next attack.
------------------------
Artemis was about to speak when the sound of footsteps could be heard behind them. They were running footsteps. Yet Artemis knew whose they belonged too. Not a moment later Jean, Ryu, Dyne, Sain, and Rowen appeared.
"I assume your looking for Red?" He asked them.

Annalese turned at the sound of hurried footsteps. At first, she wondered if the sea creature had been foolish enough to come back. Instead, and to her relief, it was just the other humans of their group. "You humans are slow!" she stated as they came out of the forest to meet up with them.
Artemis just went on to ask them if they were searching for Red.
"We were actually looking for all three of you. Since Red's not with you, where is he?" Jean questioned the two. Annalese pointed toward where she saw him head off last.
"He went that way last I saw him."
Jean exchanged looks with the others briefly before heading down the path Annalese had pointed out, running as fast as she could. Both swords were in her hands now as she darted through the foliage. Would they make it in time? She certainly hoped so but they were rather late. Was there still hope? Hopefully!

Ogre slammed attack after attack. Red barley blocked the attacks. His mind was numb. It was his fault. He had left them. But he had never meant too. He was too busy running away. He thought he was protecting them by taking the danger away from the slums. If he had stayed there surely they would have all been dragged into it.
And he had left them again too with Jean. But not before throwing the land into chaos because of Artemis. Still... What was he supposed to do? He was sorry for what had happened. But if he had to do it again he would. "I'm sorry!" He exclaimed when they were in a lock of blades. Both were pushing against eachother.
"The only sorry I need from you is your blood all over these woods!" Ogre won then and Red was pushed back. His keyblade was thrown out of his hands. Ogre took advantage and leaped. His blade came swinging down, aimed to slice right into Red.
Calling his keyblade it came and he once again barley blocked the attack. But Ogre did not let up. He attacked again and again. It was all Red could do to stop himself from getting killed. He couldn't even go on the offense. And from this vantage point it was only a matter of time before he disarmed him again. It would mean Red's life. He just knew it.
However there was one thing that Ogre didn't know. Red heard footsteps right behind them.

It took some brainstorming as to where Red might've gone next. Pausing briefly, Jean looked this way and that. Where should they go next? She could hear in the distance the sound of clashing metal. Her eyebrows furrowing, determined, Jean ran toward the source.
It didn't take long for her to happen upon Ogre and Red fighting. Well, Ogre mostly lashing down on Red and Red doing nothing but just barely defending himself. Bright green eyes narrowing, Jean sped up. She would not allow Ogre to kill Red if she could help it!
In the blink of an eye, she was in between Red and Ogre, her swords clashing with Ogre's keyblade as she parried his attack that would have disarmed Red a final time had she not stepped in. Her eyes were almost blazing as she looked back at Ogre firmly. "Didn't think you lost me for long, did you?" she questioned him then. As she said this, the others arrived on the scene.
"Hey, Red! You okay?" [/color] Rowen questioned him, pulling out his bow and arrow just in case and held it at the ready should he need to use it. "You've a bad habit of getting into trouble, Red."[/size][/blockquote]

Help had come right in the nick of time. Red had been losing grip of his blade when Jean had blocked the attack. They had stopped the attack and had driven even Ogre off of him. Ogre took a step back as Red got to his feet and the others appeared. Annalese's comment was not entirely true.
"I don't find trouble. Trouble finds me." Red watched as Artemis, Dyne, Sain, and Rowen appeared on the scene as well. "I'm fine." He told Rowen. He stepped next to Jean, who was between him and Ogre.
Ogre's grip was tight around his weapon. Red could see the anger behind his face. "How long do you think you can keep hiding behind your friends? We will finish this." Suddenly a portal appeared behind Ogre. Red watched as his former best friend walked backwards into it. However his eyes never left Red. They held anger in them.
When the teen was finally gone. Red turned to all of them. "I'm sorry guys. I was trying to find the rock for tomorrows hunt."

Jean held her ground as she kept herself firmly planted between the two teenagers. She wouldn't let Ogre past if he kept trying to do Red harm. Ogre seemed to realize he was at the disadvantage here, backing off when Jean had arrived. All he did was glare at Red after asking him how long he could hide behind his new friends for.
"Don't let him get to you, Red."
Jean watched carefully as Ogre left through a portal, the kid's eyes never leaving Red before disappearing.
Rowen looked relieved when Red said he was fine. "That's good, glad we made it in time!" he stated. Annalese just looked at Red puzzled for a moment before nodding.
"A little bit of both!" she mused.
"...So that's why you left?" Jean sighed hearing that. Of all the things, he ran out to go and look for a rock for the hunt. Speaking of the treasure hunt, after what happened, she wasn't so sure if that was what they had come here to do.
"I'm not sure if they'll be doing the hunt tomorrow, Red. A lot of the pirates were killed back at camp. Ogre killed one man, the sea creatures came and killed many." She was careful to not go into detail about her story on the subject. The last thing she needed was to further humiliate herself. Rowen and Sain, of course, said nothing.

After everything happened perhaps not having a treasure hunt wouldn't be such a bad thing. He gave them all a small smile. "I understand. Let's just get back to camp then. It shouldn't be to hard to figure out."
Red was silent on the way back to camp. He was busy thinking about everything that Ogre had said. He did hide behind his friends. But he couldn't help it. His friends were the family that he never had. He'd do anything for them, just like they'd do anything for him.
Yet why did he feel so miserable? Why did he still feel like this was all his fault. He just wanted all of this to be over already. He wished Ogre would come back. The one he knew. Not the Ogre that was here now. There had to be someway to get him back.
As they exited the jungle, Red vowed to himself right then. "I'll get him back. I'll get the real Ogre back." It was the least he could do for his friend. If he could bring his old friend back he could die happy.
Jean had spoken true. As the sun came up Red saw the state of the camp. More then half of the pirates were dead. Red noticed a fire where the remaining pirates were throwing their former comrades onto the fires. It was a typical funeral for a pirate.
Red turned to Jean. "What do we do know?" Red thought that perhaps they should take their leave of this world. Perhaps it was time to move on.

Jean merely smiled a little and nodded her head in agreement when Red suggested they head back to camp. She was glad that he had survived long enough for them to get to him. If he hadn't, she didn't want to think what might've happened. The thought of losing a friend bothered her greatly. Even the thought of one being possessed bothered her. Looking at those around her, she was certain that neither held a snake-like thing within them. If they had, Silver probably would've killed them like he had done to Jade's.
There was a long bit of silence as they all walked through the forest, heading back to camp. It seemed after what happened that they all didn't have much to say. Most likely they were tired or just shocked from the night's events.
When they happened upon the camp, it was a much more grim silence. "Sad, only half made it out alive." Sain and Ryu nodded in agreement to that before heading over to help with the burial...more like cremations.
Jean stood back, letting the others move ahead and mingle where they wanted. She looked over at Red when he asked what they should do next. Rowen, who had been within earshot of them, looked over at Red. "I guess we could move on to the next world...any ideas of where you want to go?" he questioned him.

Red looked around. Why was he always the one who had to suggest where they had to go. He turned to Artemis first. "Are you going to accompany us?" The question was sort of random, but the assassin hadn't said he'd travel with them as far as their paths went the same way. He was trying to see if the assassin would be making a more permanent member of the party.
Artemis's eyebrows rose at Red. "I believe getting off this world is a good idea. So for now... yes." Artemis had no real destination as of yet. He was a free loader for now. He would accompany them. He owed them his help.
Red nodded. He was glad Artemis would be enjoying them. He turned to Annalese. I have no idea where we should go. What about you Annalese?" He was tired of trying to pick the places to go. He just didn't know anymore.

[blockqote]Jean and the mercenaries waited for Red to make a decision. As they stood there, when Red turned to speak to Artemis, she was reminded of the last name again. Artemis and Red somewhat resembled one another. Yes, now that she thought about it, they looked alike in certain ways although Artemis was the older of the two.
She was searching her brain for where she had heard the last name 'Loki' before. As she did so, the others were deciding on where to go to next.
Annalese blinked when Red had turned to her, asking where they should go next. Honestly, she didn't know where to go that would put them as far away from her brother as possible. He was already on their trail and he would find them no matter what they did. Maybe a jungle would be harder for him to find them?
"Uh...maybe a jungle world? Deep Jungle?" she said with a shrug. As the vampire girl said this Jean finally figured out where the last name 'Loki' had come from. It was Red's last name too! Artemis and Red were related, most likely brothers or cousins because of how old they both were. 'Ironic that a sibling or cousin once tried to kill their own family!' she thought.[/blockquote]
