Ty blinked once. Twice. But the searing bolt of glowing death never came. Ty blinked one more time to make sure he wasn't dead. The Creep Hunter had disappeared. Maybe it had something to do with the crash and the loud curses and a scream of pain. The Semi Heartless glanced towards the back of the tram and saw the hunter still holding on. Its helmet had shattered and was now gasping worse than a fish out of water. It shot him a look of pure hatred before losing its grip and fell into the dark tunnel. A shiver ran down the teenager's spine. Never before had he seen such hatred directed at him.
Am I really that much of an abomination that someone hates me that much? Am I a monster?
Ty pushed the thought to the back of his mind, there were more important things to worry about. Like the Wretchsnipe and his wounds from his fight. He turned his attention to the front of the tram and saw Navitas' giant metal frame huddled over one of the teenagers. Ty could not get a good look at who was injured since the metal giant stood between them.
If Navitas is there, who's holding back the...
The teenager's head snapped to the door to the engineering room. The door stood open and the room behind it was empty. Ty's brow knit together in concentration as he tried to think of what happened to both the Wretchsnipe and the creepy hunter guy? He sat in silence for another minute before it dawned on him that Navitas had pitted the two creatures against each other and saved his sorry shadowy butt. He glanced at the man and briefly made eye contact. Ty nodded his thanks.
"I was fine. I could have won." His pride was getting the best of him again. "But...thanks"
The Semi Heartless could now see what Navitas was attending some dark creature. Possibly the true target of the other creatures. She must have been shot when the Wretchsnipe attacked. Seeing her wounds caused Ty to flinch as he remembered his own light inflicted wounds. They burned like the unholy fires of someplace nasty. Luckily the blade was hot enough that it had somewhat cauterized the wounds so he probably wouldn't bleed out.
By now Koggles had found his way back into the tram. bobbing along in the air before landing next to the metal man. After a short conversation the small moogle came and sat next to the teenager. Ty smiled and said that he was fine, trying to not let on that his wounds were still burning. He reassuringly patted the moogle's head. He flinched after making contact as a small amount of mana crossed the gap between his hand and Koggle's head. The moogle probably didn't notice. He was too busy playing with his new crystal that the old moogle had given him in Traverse Town. Quite a bit of magic was flying around now, and a lot of mana was in play. Part of Ty stared hungrily at his tiny white friend and the power he possessed. Realizing what he was thinking, the Semi Heartless pushed the beast back. By now Koggles had healed the woman and leaned up against Ty in exhaustion.
The woman started to laugh and drew up to her full height. She had to duck slightly as she was too big for the tram car. By the look of her clothes the dark woman seemed to be important, maybe even regal. This might have been the true target of the tram attack. The lights flickered as she wrapped herself in darkness, building up some sort of shield.
"Finally!" She cried as she stretched her arms, as if she had been cooped up for a very long time. "Finally I have enough power to break free of that wretched form. This world seems far enough into the twilight that I can easily make it a new dark home." She cackled. Ty shakily got to his feet. Enough had happened on this vacation. He wasn't going to let her ruin it anymore.
"N..no you w-won't. I wanted a vacation and I will get it." His temper was starting to flare. He was in no condition to fight. His wounds were burning like the surface of the sun and he had a very small portion of mana stored. That barrier of hers probably wouldn't let him hit her. Nightsbane lay on the floor a few feet away. If he went for it, she would probably blast him. Ty's options were slim. Momentarily, the Semi Heartless' attention was drawn to outside the car. The walls of the tunnel flickered for a moment, then stabilized. A second later they were in the twilight. The woman saw his hesitation and hit him with some sort of shadow magic. Ty was knocked onto his butt. it stung, but no major damage seemed to be done. This vacation was getting to be more trouble than it was worth.

The woman was indeed healed, and Navitas took a step back as she seemingly recovered. With that done, Navitas sighed and murmured to himself, "3,2,1." Boom, the woman began laughing menacingly. Navitas sighed. Of course she was evil, why wouldn't she be? Someone would have to be pretty screwed up if they had these many dangerous assassin type creatures after her. Which meant there was money to be had. All Navitas has to do now is kill her himself and he can go claim the reward! Genius! Foolproof! No way it can go wrong!
The woman attacked Ty, which made Navitas grunt. That attack was nothing to scoff at, he'll have to be cautious. And by cautious I mean cheat! Navitas floated over to the conductor's quarters while the regal darkling mouthed off about having a new dark home. Navitas looked to the front window and saw a wall of light rapidly coming toward the tram. Just as he expected, with the death of the Creep Hunter, so also died the time loop. He looked to the lever on his right, the brake no doubt. Nope, shall take too long. Navitas looked upward. There was a bright red metal handled connected to a wire rope. The emergency brake, much better. As the tram emerged onto the tunnel and the interior was consumed by twilight, Navitas pulled down on the red handle.
The tram lurched as the brakes kicked in. A terrible sound would radiate across the cabin as the wheels dug into the rails and did its best to kill the momentum of the fast moving tram. The vehicle screeched along a few miles more, violently shaking its interior, before coming to a clean and complete stop a mile or so away from the beach station. Navitas casually stepped back into the cabin, looking intently toward the dark woman. Her height had worked against her, the braking of the tram had toppled her over, and she was now struggling to get up while fighting off a bit of dizziness. Navitas stepped forward to help her. He grabbed her by the collar of her dress and politely requesting, "Please come with me madame."
He flew back toward the conductor's chamber at high speeds, dragging the dazed dark woman behind him. As he approached the chamber, he would shift his weight and in a single fluid motion would throw the woman forward. The strength of the Wopplestinker still rested within him, and the toss would land the woman right where Navitas wanted her: against the window. Before she could realize what had happened, Navitas would fly forward and slam the witch right in the gut with his steel fist. The window would shatter and the two would fly out onto the suspended track. Navitas landed cleanly while the woman flailed forward several feet, landing on her back. Navitas took note of his surroundings. A seemingly endless chasm surrounded the track all the way up to the station. He must stay vigilant in this coming battle. Not to fall in, no he can just fly out. If she fell in though there would be no way for him to get proof that he killed her. After a quick roll of his neck, Navitas would put up his dukes before pondering, "If you wouldn't mind, I would much like to know who wanted you killed so I know where to deliver your he-" The woman let out a spell faster than Navitas's eyes could process. It was of the dark element, so Navitas wasn't affected in the slightest...but that force! He was slammed backward by the woman's beam, which was strong enough to throw him into the front of the tram and even push it a foot backward. Trying to shake the birds out from within his line of sight, Navitas would reluctantly whimper out to him comrades, "Assistance would be appreciated."

Everything seemed hunky dory for a few moments when Koggles had healed the woman... thing. That all ended quickly with her shrill laughter and the blasting of dark energies and the fighting and the kids these days. Koggles was an ornament for a few seconds as Ty got blasted and Navitas had taken the festering battle into the front of the tram. The moogle hastily made his way over to Ty, who seemed as if he could barely stand. Koggles placed both of his furry paws on Ty's shins, checking to make sure there were no serious wounds. He had a nasty burn from that fish bowl earlier, and the moogle had used up the mana inside of the water crystal... so no fast healing could be done here.
"Dammit kupo..." Koggles grunted, stroking his furry chin for a moment before clapping his paws together. "Wait, Ty! You can drain mana right? I've felt it a few times here and there when you've patted me before. I've hardly used any, I'm pretty energized to say the least, take some of mine, kupo! At least enough to feel like you can power through that wound kupopo!" The moogle already anticipated the boy to be wary of such an action but he didn't have time for Ty's indecisiveness. Navitas was doing a good job at holding off this creature alone, but he couldn't go on forever. Trying to force the issue, the moogle made a leap for the boy's exposed palm. He wasn't sure if Ty had control over the ability or not but either way he had to make it clear he was 100% sure of this idea.
Regardless the outcome, if Ty moved back or if he had drained some of Koggle's mana, the moogle spun around quickly and began flying towards Navitas. Wait... Where did Navitas go? As the moogle went soaring into the conductors room, he failed to notice the broken window and clipped a hanging leaver with his wing, causing him to lose his balance and go bouncing right out into the tracks. The woman.. the wretched, dark creature.. thing, was charging up another spell. Her voice bellowed out into the odd tunnel, with an annoyingly piercing chortle. Her teeth gleamed as she reared back to launch out another dark wave of energy before a white puff ball landed right on her face, causing her to throw the magic right into air.
Koggles squirmed around a bit trying to find something to grip and he did find various things, some were a bit unpleasant. He was a little unsure of where he was and the witch was a little unsure of what was flailing on her face. Finally, she put both hands on the creature and tossed him aside, as he went bouncing away again. This time, however, it was a little worse as he almost fell right into the unstable rift that surrounded the trio. He barely got a claw onto the tracks and hung steadily in one position, with uncertainty below.
The moogle tried to flap his wings but his right wing hurt too much, he might have bruised it or something. Then, the moogle tried to lift himself up, but his claws gave just a tad every time he tried to put weight on the track. No good, no good... he looked around, and saw that the witch focused her attention on him now. He looked over to Navitas, he didn't seem all that damaged. "Don't worry about me, kupo!" Koggles yelled out, trying to swing his little legs to get himself some momentum. "Just uh... Worry about that thing!"

The blast looked worse than it felt. For once Ty was grateful that he had his Heartless half, since that mitigated the damage from the witch's blast. Still, the spell was quite powerful and knocked him flat on his butt. It stung, and his rear was a little sore now, but for the most part Ty was fine. The metal had taken action soon after Ty found himself on his rear. The car screeched to a halt. Ty fell back and the witch fell flat on her face. Navitas had her by the collar in an instant and had thrown her effortlessly into the conductor's cabin.
While his metal companion was doing this, the moogle had toddled over to the teen and patted his shins. Ty managed to sit up and force a smile at the moogle, even though he was in a fair amount of pain. He tried to hide the burns on his arm and abdomen, though he was sure that Koggles had seen it. Ty saw the look of worry and frustration on his little friend's face.
"I'm fine, really. Don't worry about me." Koggles remained silent for a second before bringing up Ty's affinity for draining mana. "I don't know, Koggles. I feel bad taking it form people other than Heartless and enemies. And I'm sorry for taking your mana, I can't help it. It's like my hands are cursed. I can't he..." Before the Semi-Heartless could finish, the moogle lunged at his hand and rubbed it around his fuzzy head. Ty felt mana flow between the moogle and slowly fill the emptiness inside of him. Ty pulled away and the moogle rushed out to help Navitas. Ty whispered an old Dalmarkan swear that would have gotten his mouth washed out with soap for a week if his mom even knew that he knew it, much less said it. After a moment of anger he returned his mind to the issue at hand.
They both are fighting so hard. And what have I done? Nothing really. I have been beaten, incapacitated and babied for too long this trip. I need to help them..." Ty shakily got to his feet. He picked up Nightsbane and glanced at the teenagers in the corner. They were cowering in fear. Their relaxing day at the beach had been so rudely interrupted by the dark attack and that one of their friends was not as they seemed. Realizing that he might get some information about the witch, he barked,
"What do you know about her. Tell me. Now."
The teenagers cowered even more. Frustrated, Ty raised Nightsbane in their direction. A small ball of mana formed on the point.
"I won't ask again."
"Her name is Liss. She moved here a few years ago. She never said where from." one of the girls said, her voice shaking. "We knew she had some sort of telekinesis or something, but never imagined this. Other than that, I d-don't know"
Ty simply nodded his thanks and went into the conductor's cabin. His two companions were nowhere to be seen. Noticing the broken window, Ty concluded that the fight had gone outside. Peering into the twilight, Ty could not see Navitas, but he did see Koggles hanging off the side of the track, the dark witch loomed over him, lips moving in preparation to blast the furry moogle into oblivion. Hoping to save his friend, Ty leaped from the window and unceremoniously launched himself off of Navitas' head towards the woman.
"Koggles!"
Ty caught the woman off guard and her spell dissipated. Ty slashed, barely damaging her dark shield. He spun around hitting her with a two-handed strike. This pushed the woman back a step or two. He kept up his assault for a moment or two more before he stabbed forward. Nightsbane didn't fully penetrate the woman's shield, but it did make it about 3/4 of the way the barrier. Silently he thanked whatever deities he could think of that magicite was in the blade. With a grunt he pushed on the sword a little harder and sent a surge of mana through the blade.
"Shatter!" he screamed. The mana fragmented from the blade's tip, shredding through the woman's barrier. It did not do much damage to the woman, but he did open up a sizable hole in her defenses. The force of the blast knocked the teenager a few feet back and knocked him on his butt. "Someone, anyone, now!" he yelled, hoping that someone would take up the fact that he had opened up a momentary hole in the witch's defenses.

While Navitas shook the birds out of his eyes, Koggles had appeared to back him up. Apparently it didn't go so well as by the time he was able to see clearly once more, the first thing his eyes rested on was Koggles hanging over the abyss. The dark woman was looming over him. Navitas gasped and was about to get up and fly to Koggles' aid when an unseen force pushed down on his head and kept him in place.
He shook his metal cranium with surprise and looked out to see Ty running into the fray...did he just use his head as a platform? Navitas will have to scold him about that, for now though it was time to get serious! Navitas stood and watched Ty's brief grapple with the witch, only to be hindered by a dark force field of hers. Navitas clenched his fists. he was about to fly into the fray when Ty suddenly shifted the tables.
The dark boy burst a hole into the woman's shield. It was time to strike. Ty called for action, and Navitas would be the one to take said action. Kicking off into the air, Navitas pushed off the tram and flew toward the dark woman at a terrible speed. His right fist was pulled back behind him, charging with a strange cosmic energy. As he neared his target, Navitas would let out a high pitched cackle before slamming his fist into the open spot in the force field and connecting an ultra punch into the dazed witch's gut.
There was a small explosion of force as the punch met its target. Unfortunately for said target, the force explosion was contained inside her force field and thus she was the only one to feel the consequences. Her shield shattered, and the woman was thrown backward ten feet before skidding along the tram track. Navitas pounced on the woman and grabbed her by the collar once more. Heaving her up, Navitas threw the witch toward the tram. It was her turn to slam into the vehicle's front side. "Get Koggles." Navitas commanded flatly as he summoned his signature scimitar to his hands. He flew toward the woman, raising his sword to slash her head off. She was quick to recover, quickly summoning her own dark great-sword before firing off beams of shadow at the mercenary king. Navitas flew around the beam as he closed in on the witch, eventually coming close enough to attempt a slash. The woman parried his hit and the two would proceeded to duel in front of the tram.
Navitas was surprised how effectively the dark lady countered his strikes. The skeletal oddball was stronger than she looked. She would go on to fire an orb of shadowy force upon Navitas, who would be thrown to his back. The sudden impact would cause him to lose his grip on his sword and fling it toward the abyss. Navitas cooed as he sat up, only for the dark woman to pounce on him, stabbing her dark blade through his left shoulder.
Navitas yelled out like a little child. He was pushed back down by the impact and began to continuously gasp in surprise. How did she stab him? His armor was impenetrable, no weapon should be able to pierce it! This sword...it was not natural. Navitas spouted out this pondering, "Where did you get this sword!?" The woman did not respond. She simply cackled and raised it over her head for the final strike. As she was going to bring down the hurt however, a deep growl could be heard from atop the tram.
The woman swung her gaze behind her and Navitas tiled his head in an attempt to see. What he found made him whimper like a punished puppy. "I should have known..." The Wopplestinker stood proudly on the tip of the tram's top, its terrible eyes fixated on the woman. It had survived its tumble off the tram, and with the tram incapacitated it was a wonder it didn't catch up to them sooner. The woman gasped in horror and attempted to run. Navitas would turn over as the woman clambered over him and grab her right leg with his right hand. The woman would trip, giving the Wopplestinker a perfect shot. As she tried to get up, the dark beast leaped onto her back and began to madly claw at the woman's hunched form. The dark woman screamed, swinging her sword blindly in a desperate attempt to free herself. Navitas hastily crawled backward to stay clear of the fray and rested by the destroyed front of the tram. The two would struggle a while more before tumbling toward the left side of the tracks. Navitas groaned with disappointment and turned away his greedy gaze as the Wopplestinker and his would-be bounty flung themselves over the edge. The dark woman's screeches of anger echoed across the abyss before fading away. The fight was over.
Navitas wearily stood up and flexed his arms. His left shoulder tugged with a sharp pain. He looked to it and realized that a blue vapor was escaping from the slice. His essence. Navitas covered the wound with his right hand and let out a mixed sigh of relief and strain. He flexed his left hand, his sword appeared within it. After giving an assured nod he dismissed his blade and looked to his companions. "Are the two of you quite alright?"

For a moment, Koggles truly believed he had finally met his end. The witch loomed over him, either riding him through her own powers or the ones below. The moogle deciding he had no other options, closed his eyes tightly awaiting a fury of magic. After a few moments, nothing had happened, and when he opened his eyes he saw a familiar presence that was becoming all too common. Ty!
He about cried when he saw his buddy fight off the witch and inevitably help in her demise. This gave Koggles a surge of strength and willingness to pull himself up from the tracks and slowly wiggle his body back onto solid ground. He let out a giant sigh, letting his tiny form ease back into a comfortable setting. When he looked up, he saw Navitas take on the witch, and then the creature from before took care of the rest. He was shocked that such creatures existed, now that he had time to contemplate things without going on adrenaline alone. He was happy that snake thing wasn't coming back, he shivered a little thinking about the gaping mouth.
When all was done, the tin man came over to the two, making sure everything was alright. Koggles now had enough energy to get himself up onto his little paws and before he even had time to stabilize himself, he flew right into Ty and Navitas. He nuzzled furiously into both of them, on the verge of joyous crying. "Ty! Navitas! Thank you!" It might have seemed a little odd, but the moogle knew only how to show appreciation when deserved. Ty had already experienced this -- perhaps just something the other two would have to get used to if continuously traveling with Koggles.
On the inside, the moogle felt a little guilty. He wasn't able to provide much help himself, and he was skeptical about companionship in the first place. Oh how coy it all seemed now. With his prolonged thanks, he eventually stopped or was stopped, wiping his eyes clean. The moogle floated back over to the tram, seeing the kids peering through the conductors glass. They were spooked ever so slightly and ran back to their seats. Koggles smiled and looked back at the other two. "So who's ready for the beach, kupo?!"

TY hoped someone would take advantage of the opening he had created. If they didn't it would be curtains for the teenager. Luckily, someone had acted. Navitas flew over him, clipping the back of Ty's head with his foot, supposedly payback for using him as a launch point earlier. Ty watched in amazement as the two titans fought. The battle came dangerously close and the Semi-Heartless had to roll out of the way to avoid getting stepped on or stabbed. The pair had gotten dangerously close to the tram when Navitas was knocked over and the dark woman stabbed his shoulder.
"No!" Ty yelled, getting to his feet. He was too far to keep her from striking a killing blow. He cursed himself for not having any range whatsoever. But before the lady could end the metal man's life, the wretchsnipe appeared on the top of the tram. It looked quite smug that it had been able to catch up to them.
W-what? How did it survive that fall? How did it catch up? Why is the stupid wretchsnipe even here.
The dark creature locked eyes with Ty for a moment. In that pause, his heart stopped. The creature coiled up, preparing to lunge. Ty prepared for the attack, bracing for the hurdling mass of monster. It never came. The creature lunged onto the woman, knocking her off of Navitas. The two dark things struggled, rolling back and forth across the track in a flurry of arms and legs. The pair teetered close to the edge. Ty nonchalantly nudged them with his foot and sent them into the abyss. As they disappeared out of sight, Ty was half expecting to see them do the comical thing and fall out of the sky in an infinite loop. Sadly, that was not the case.
Ty turned his attention the metal man. He had gotten back to his feet, but some blue vapor was flowing out of the cut in his armor. Ty pointed to it and asked,
Are you ok? You're kinda...leaking"
Navitas waived it off as nothing. It was then that the pair was blindsided by a flying ball of fur, nearly knocking Ty into the abyss.
"Well look who decided to finally show up now that all the heavy lifting has been done!" Ty teased, glad to see that Koggles was safe and not dangling to his doom. Without thinking, he patted the moogle on the head, trying to ignore the small flow of power as he did so. When the moogle had let go, he inquired about the beach. Oh yes, the beach. Ty had almost forgotten why they had come to this world in the first place. He glanced at the tram. It was in bad shaped, all smashed up and broken.
"The beach sounds fun, but we may have to walk from here." He pointed out the state of the tram. It didn't look like it was going anywhere anytime soon. He was surprised that the tram had made it this far to begin with. "So, are we hoofing it? Or is one of you tech savvy enough to get this hunk of junk moving again?

Navitas indeed evaded Ty's concern. He still felt the sizzle of his escaping essence; his mind wandered back to the dark woman's black blade. Only one being could forge such a weapon, but surely he cannot still be alive. Indeed, it was certainly a relic from his time. The woman was simply lucky with her heirlooms. Navitas nodded his head toward Ty, "Nothing to worry about young sir."
Then there was Koggles, who was right as rain thankfully. Navitas let out a cheerful coo as Koggles got all cozy and grateful. That was all he could express, the mercenary king was never good at taking thank yous and the like. Just fishy payments. Almost felt nice. Almost. Koggles brought up the beach shortly after, a thought Navitas huffed too. He was surprised that he still wanted to go to the beach after all that has happened, but then again a little relaxation couldn't hurt after an afternoon of rough-housing. Ty pondered if they should walk or start up the tram again. Navitas had a quicker idea.
"Hop back on you too!" He said, pointing to the tram with his free hand. "Trust me now, I have an idea!" Navitas would adamantly wait until the duo would board before taking any action. He would first raise his hand off of his wound to see how it was doing. His skin had already sealed it up, though a scratch still lingered where it once sat. Navitas flexed his arms and began to stretch. He could feel the Wopplestinker's strength slowly fading from him, but he still had enough power to put his plan into action. He faced the tram and took a hold of the wrecked front. "I hope you're sitting!" He called to the tram's interior. With a mighty bellow, Navitas pulled his arms back. His legs pushed off of the ground and let Navitas float lightly in the air. The tram shrieked and bellowed before giving way to Navitas's pulling. Navitas prompted himself to float backward, and he did so...dragging the tram with him.
The tram creaked and bumped along the track as Navitas dragged it along. He hoped the ride wasn't too bumpy; he would hate to arrive at the station only to find a bunch of smashed-pumpkin-passengers. Navitas dragged and dragged for a good minute or two; the station was not a great distance from their position. They were in fact just about to enter it at the two minutes and fifty seconds mark when Navitas's strength failed him and his pulling ceased. No more super strength for him. Feeling winded for the first time in ages, Navitas let go of the tram and called out to the passengers, "Alright *heave* we've arrived! Oh jeez...come on out *wheeze*!" Navitas turned and walked into the station proper to find a hand full of people gawking at him awkwardly. They've probably been waiting for a tram to take them home...they might have to wait a while longer. Navitas found an empty bench near the track and quietly took a seat to wait for his companions, ignoring the confused eyes leering at him.

Koggles was full on ready to do exactly what Navitas began to do. He did oblige to getting into the tram, along with Ty, watching as the big metal man showcased a brilliant amount of strength and began moving the train. The moogle was impressed, gawking over the front window and giggling some at the random noises Navitas made. Sure enough, they did make it to their exit. It wasn't a terrible distance, and really they definitely could have just walked, but it was a great show nevertheless.
The moogle floated out of the tram, with the teens bouncing out right after him. The people in the station were eying them suspiciously and Koggles took it upon himself to do crowd control. He past Navitas on his way towards the people, giving him a reassuring pat and a smile. The moogle chatted with the bystanders, explaining in a short and concise way as to what happened. Just a little fib with how the engine had failed and the conductor had gone off for maintenance on something unrelated. No worries, no panic, just a bit of waiting.
Station control began speaking with the moogle now, and he made them aware of a failing tram. They didn't seem all that surprised, perhaps this sort of thing happened a lot? Either way, they reassured him they were on it and that was the end of that. Koggles was almost bewildered at how easy it was to throw out any doubts of something extremely odd happening. Perhaps this place was quite used to oddities. Either way, the moogle made his way back to his comrades, the only thing really on his mind at this point was the beach. Hopefully Navitas would be able to muster up enough strength for a good fun in the sun... er, twilight type of day... afternoon... thing.
"Well the people here are pretty nice, kupo!" He began, floating around Navitas to make sure he was okay. "So does anyone know where the beach is? I can find it... I just don't know what it looks like popo.."

Ty obliged when the metal man told them to get back into the tram. As he stepped up, he looked back over his shoulder and thought he saw the two dark creatures fall out of the sky and back into the pit in some sort of sick cosmic joke. It was probably just his mind playing tricks on him. He plopped down onto one of the tram seats, exhausted and in pain. His wounds still burned slightly but he pushed the pain out of his mind. He closed his eyes for a moment, preparing to nap for the rest of the trip.
All of a sudden the tram lurched forward, almost knocking the unsuspecting teenager to the floor. His hand shot to Nightsbane before he realized that Navitas was pulling the tram. The man's brute strength impressed Ty. He was warming up to this walking tin can, and thought he wasn't too bad to be around. The teenagers' giggles and awkwardness drew Ty from his thoughts and to the fact that sitting in silence while Navitas dragged the tram along was quite uncomfortable. A few awkward minutes later, they came to an abrupt stop in the station. Navitas slowly climbed off the tracks and over to a bench, oblivious to the stares people were giving him. The moogle flew out of the tram after the teenagers and began explaining away what happened. Ty thought it was a stretch that there was engine trouble when the windshield was gone and the front of the tram was smashed.
The Semi Heartless crept out of the tram, unnoticed by the crowd. He walked over to the entrance and stared out over the twilit city. It was pretty, if one was so inclined to call that. Lots of stone buildings and cobbled streets. It was quite rustic and urban at the same time. Ty was so absorbed in the view he didn't hear his companions sneak up on him, albeit the moogle was floating and didn't make any noise anyways. He jumped when the moogle asked about the beach.
"Don't sneak up on me like that!" He tried to regain his lost composure, but it was all for naught. He braced for any ridicule that his companions would dish out by scanning the horizon. His gaze locked onto a small band of azure blue. "All joking aside, it's that. " He pointed. The beach is that way." He felt the stirring of joy in his heart and started down the stairs. Without really thinking Ty took off at a jog down the street, heading towards where he thought the beach was.
The beach! I can almost smell the salt. Maybe, maybe she's there and safe and...
Ty started sprinting, ignoring the cries of his friends behind. He had a sister to try and find.

At least Navitas didn't have to wait too long. His companions would be hopping off the tram with little delay, the first seen being Koggles. Navitas stood as Koggles flew to him and began flying around his head. He would chuckle at the floating fluff-ball's excitement if he wasn't still kind of worn out.
Ty came next, and Koggles would go on and spook the poor lad. Must have been a tad jumpy from the day's previous events. Or he was spooked easily...Navitas noted that possibility for later. Koggles would then bring up a rather good point; where was this beach they were seeking? Navitas looked around for a moment, his eyes resting on the horizon behind him. There, just under the skyline, lay a thin line of wavering blue. He was about to announce his discovery but it seemed Ty had one upped him. The boy declared the beach's close existence before running on ahead. Navitas, taken slightly aback by the boy's speed, looked to Koggles before running off after the boy.
Ty ran on down the street and Navitas was sure to keep up pace. He didn't worry about Koggles keeping up, what with him being the most efficiently mobile of the group. They would have to run for a good couple of minutes before the street would finally lead up to the beach. Or more accurately a hill path that lead to the beach's start. Navitas stopped at the hill's top and looked out onto the horizon. From under the sunset the ocean looked beautiful! From up close it didn't look blue at all, but rather a mass of orange and yellow that flowed across the ground. An upside-down sunrise.
Navitas took a moment to imagine how many aspiring artists spent their day painting this image over and over again before realizing how boring that was and deciding to take a closer look at the shoreline. He kicked off of the ground and floated alllllll the waaaaay over to the shore. Floating a few feet over the rolling waves of the orange sea, Navitas pondered on hos far this ocean might go. Was there another town on its other side? Did they know about this one? Was it always night time? Or perhaps always day? These thoughts were so intriguing that Navitas barely noticed that the beach was abandoned. Up and down, no people could be seen. Of course Navitas could care less about that (thus why he didn't notice) but that might be more noticeable by a certain someone else...

Koggles was slightly taken a back when his comrades instantly burst towards the exit of the tram station. Thankfully he was the most mobile of the group, as they probably knew anyway, and he caught up to them in no time. He stopped abruptly in the air, not even noticing they were already at the shore. The sight was something the little moogle had never seen.. had never imagined before. It was absolutely stunning, the radiating light bounced perfectly off the calm waters, giving off colors and glows Koggles had never even dreamt of.
His awestruck paralysis was cured when he saw Ty running down the coast in his peripheral. "Navitas!" Koggles yelled out, flying down towards the shoreline. He past the metal man and instantly went after Ty. "Come on, we can't get separated kupo!" The moogle was becoming wise to a certain something. He knew Ty had unusual energies inside of him, those energies attracted unwanted guests. Koggles tried picking up the pace but he wasn't making any progress on his friend. He knew Ty was anxious to find his sister but... "Ty! Ty wait up!" ... But why wouldn't he listen?!
Koggles was becoming increasingly agitated, especially at the fact that Ty was ignoring his calls. Mumbling under his breath, the moogle pulled out a green crystal, a little bit of energy flew through the air and then he disappeared from view, Navitas' especially if he was following. Without warning, Koggles appeared in front of Ty, hopefully forcing him to stop his frantic running.
"Ty! Ty would you hold up for a sec, kupo?!" Koggles kept a paw in the air, breathing rather heavily, staring the boy dead in the face. "You can't just go running off okay? We need to stick together kupo.." The moogle nodded and then sighed. He was really admiring the whole view too, and even at that point, his mind pressed against him to look at the ocean. His brain really couldn't wrap around the fact at how beautiful it was.

The beach was so close. Ty could taste he salt in the air. Memories of his previous excursions to beaches flooded his head. He stopped for a second in warm reverie and took in the expansive coastline. He was so wrapped up in the view that when he took a step forward, his foot missed the stairs and he stepped out into nothing. Arms flailing and wheeling himself around to try and regain balance, Ty went tumbling down the stairs. His fall was broken by his face hitting the sand and sliding for about a foot, his feet arching up by his head, like a scorpion stinging its prey. The teen's feet slumped back down to the ground as he spat the sand out of his mouth.
Finally! he thought, slowly getting to his feet./ His back hurt, but that was only a minor thing now. The beach. I can almost feel the ocean's power. Almost. And it's actually warm! Ty pulled off his boots, rolled his pants up to his knees and waded into the golden water. It was deliciously cool, but not too cold that it would discourage frolicking and swimming. He took a moment to take it all in before a single thought broke his bliss. Where is everyone? No one is here. Lucy? Where is she? Ty began to panic and scan the beach. Maybe people were farther down, and that this was a little used part of the beach. He took off running parallel to the water's edge, hoping that just down the beach there would be people. And hopefully people who could tell him about his sister.
The Semi-Heartless heart his companions call to him. He didn't listen. He pushed onwards.
They'll catch up later. I really need to find her. Where is everyone? This beach can't be entirely deserted. They have to be he- He was taken off guard as suddenly something appeared right in front of his face. Most likely due to his previous inattentiveness, the adrenaline that was still trying to work his way out of his system, and the fact that today had made him jumpy in general, Ty let out a cry, raised his hand, and discharged the small amount of mana he had stored, robably knocking it to the beach. When Ty saw what his target was, he took a step back. Apparently Koggles had teleported, trying to stop him from running off, but instead had only surprised the boy and received a weak, but stinging attack.
"I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" Tears welled up in his eyes. Maybe the Geckor on the train was right. Maybe he truly was a monster. Here he was attacking a friend who was just trying to help him. How? Why? His mind was reeling as he kept stepping back. He flinched as his foot touched water, but continued stepping away from his friend's form lying on the sand. By now Navitas had probably caught up with them. "stay away!" Ty yelled at the metal man, still backing himself into the ocean. the metal man probably wouldn't and would attack him for hurting Koggles. He was a monster after all. Fear and guilt continued to drive. A dark aura surrounded him. Ty was oblivious to it, but it was most likely the moogle and the mercenary were well aware of it. As they tried to approach him, Ty screamed, "STAY BACK!" The dark aura flared up higher. "I AM A MONSTER! LEAVE ME ALONE!" Tears streamed down his face as he was now thigh deep into the ocean. His jeans were absorbing water, making things uncomfortable, but the teenager really didn't care.
Though through the pain, he could feel more darkness approaching. Several puddles of darkness appeared on the beach. Shadows, drawn to the large increase of dark energy, were using Ty as a catalyst to enter this world. They started crawling towards the water. Ty ignored them. He should probably just let them have what they wanted. He was already a monster, this would just make it official. Ty felt something bump into his leg as that thought crossed his mind. He looked down to see a jellyfish with the Heartless marking in its head. Ty had never seen a Heartless like this before. Soon, several more appeared and latched onto the teen. He didn't struggle much as they pulled him beneath the surf. He felt like he deserved it anyways.

Navitas kind of just stared out into the distance for a bit. It was just so preeetttyyyyy. SOOOOOOOOOO PREEEEEETTYYYYYY. The horizon was so beautiful that he would probably vomit if he had any internal organs. Navitas was only pulled away from his gazing when the sound of shouting formed nearby. Seems like Ty was getting ahead of himself, and Koggles looked like he was going to burst a pipe chasing him. Navitas sighed to himself and floated off after the two.
"Ty you should probably slow down. You're gonna give Koggles a hernia." The teen did not heed his words though, and in all honesty Navitas was a bit annoyed by it. He was not aware of Ty's motivations, so he just saw this charging forth as his young blood making him rambunctious. Why couldn't young people just hobble for a bit? Y'know, just shuffle along instead of running so that people could keep up with them and ram some sense into their heads! Well if he wanted a chase Navitas would surely provide. It shall be a short chase but a chase nonethe-oh.
Koggles beat Navitas to it with teleportation, the rascal. However the action would ultimately backfire, as Ty would attack the poor moogle out of shock. Navitas gasped as he witnessed this, "G'ah-oh! K-oggles!" Navitas sped up his hovering to catch up with them, but upon his arrival Ty would attempt to verbally keep him back. Navitas stood his ground (or more of floated his ground) and attempted to talk some sense into the boy, "N-now Tyler, just calm down. I'm sure Koggles is fine! You're just a bit spooked is all. You're no monster, you're just a boy...a half...heartless...boy b-but still! Oh dear..."
Navitas's final sentence could probably refer to his nervous ranting but was in fact a reaction to Ty's sudden dark aura. The hell was that supposed to be? Bah it didn't matter, Ty was sprouting weirdness and had to be calmed down before something bad happened! "Stay put Koggles." He said to the downed moogle before hovering toward Ty. He was about to spout out more "words of comfort" but wouldn't ya know it, heartless showed up. Well that was juuuuuuust spiffy. Shadows popping up around Ty, and in no time the little buggers would be clambering all over him. "Oh no you don't!" Navitas growled as he grabbed the heartless heap by the sides. It was mildly heavy, but Navitas's basic strength was just well enough to toss the heap closer to the shore. Eh it wasn't much progress but at least he wouldn't drown...yet. Not wanting to hurt the boy, Navitas would run up to the heap and begin gingerly ripping Shadows away from Ty. When more would approach, Navitas would kick them back viciously. This worked for a bit, but soon enough the amount of Shadows appearing proved to greatly hinder Navitas's progress with Ty. Navitas reluctantly summoned his sword just as a wave began to slowly carry the heartless mass away. As Navitas swiped at oncoming heartless he would shout out to koggles, "Dear Koggles, I-I know this is probably a bad time but I could really use your help!"

The initial distraction of the shoreline kept the moogle from seeing Ty strike back out of shock. The moogle hit the sand with an audible thud, leaving a small imprint. He lifted his head up rather quickly however, shaking a bit. At first, Koggles was clearly ticked off, but when he saw the panic flooding through Ty's eyes, he immediately withdrew his own angry.
Navitas had entered, trying to calm the boy down, which wasn't working at all. The moogle tried getting himself off the ground but found it rather difficult. The prior engagement with those oogly beasts took more out of him than he had thought. What a pain...
Ty was now waist deep in the ocean, a sickly looking dark aura swirling around his body. Koggles was beginning to fear for his friend. He knew how much he struggled with that inner darkness and it looked as if he was giving up that fight. Navitas was already in the middle of it all, trying to rip Ty from the now apparent heartless, whilst keeping new ones off of him. He was having trouble, save the assistance he asked of the moogle.
Koggles placed both paws on the sand, clenching them up and squeezing it with frustration. He wasn't so much angry at Ty than he was at himself for not keeping the darkness away. All of Ty's bad thoughts and hopeless demeanor he carried made the moogle hate the heartless even more. He was a cheerful lad... everything that consumed him had no right to fester in his heart.
"TY!" Koggles finally yelled out, flying up from the sand and helping Navitas with the heartless. He readied Sider and began slashing at the creatures. "So you're just giving up?! What have you been fighting for this entire time kupo?!" He slashed a few more times, then made a leap at Ty, throwing himself right into the swirling black surrounding the boy. The moogle grabbed the boy's face as the dark tendrils began engulfing them both. "You're just gonna give up on your sister?!"

The sheer weight of the Heartless piling on top of him. Their combined shadows created an oppressive darkness that normally would have struck fear into Ty's heart. At this point, he really didn't care. He had hurt his friend for no reason, and was probably hated for it. He felt like he truly was a monster. The Heartless mass started to plunge beneath the surface. He would probably drown before the swarm of Heartless could finish him off. However, a watery death did not come. Ty and the mass of Shadows were picked up and tossed, presumably into shallower waters so he wouldn't drown.
Why are they trying to save me? Ty wondered, wincing from the Shadows' claws. Who would really want to save a monster from what they deserve?
Ty could hear shouting but it was faint enough that he disregarded whatever comforting words they were trying to say. He felt himself slip deeper into the dark mass. He was slightly relieved from the constant contact of the Heartless. All the jostling and bumping had transferred enough mana that the teenager couldn't hold anymore. That slightly uncomfortable feeling of the transfer was gone, and at least he could now go feeling like a normal person: full of mana and not a total freak.
It was about this time that Koggles had broken through and was frantically yelling at the boy, slapping him once or twice across the face. Ty stared back with glazed over eyes. He hadn't heard a word the moogle had said. He started to feel the all too familiar embrace of the Darkness, one he had fought for days on end to try and live. It had come for him. It was at this border of Light and Dark that he heard something. It was faint at first, as if he was hearing it from underwater. The second time, it was loud and clear, echoing about the Semi-Heartless' head.
"TY!"
The teenagers eyes cleared. The voice did not belong to Navitas nor Koggles, it was too feminine. No, only one person possessed such a voice...Lucy.
"L...Lucy?" he said, starting to groggily fight against the Shadows weighing him down. They were being carried out from the shore, and Ty was starting to be forced underwater. He did not hear Lucy's voice again. "LUCY!" he screamed, fearing the worst. What if the Heartless on the beach had her? What if they were trying to hurt her, his precious little sister? Ty's depression and fear were quickly replaced by something much stronger, rage. How dare they. They could do what they wanted with him, but to hurt his little sister, the Heartless had another thing coming. "Let her go!" he screamed.
Mana rose up from whatever depths he hid it in and materialized in his hands. The Shadows seemed to ignore what was ever going on, still focused on his heart. Ty gritted his teeth and tried to throw himself into a roll. It didn't work. He tried two more times without much success. He cursed profusely and tried again, throwing all his strength into it. It worked. He started to rotate. Pushing his hands out he barked a single command,
"Shred!"
The mana crystallized, following the path of Ty's hands, slicing through the Heartless like a hot knife through butter. While Ty's normal mana blade was a dark blue, these were a brilliant sky blue, being fueled by full stacks and his negative emotions. Ty got through one or two complete rotations before The blade stopped materializing and the mana began to dissipate. There were considerably fewer Heartless now and Ty began to fight his way back to shore. Once there, it seemed that the Heartless were much fewer, probably due to the fact that his friends had already fought so many off. Ty scanned the beach. She had to be here. He had heard her call out, right? To his left, he caught a glimpse of a figure. A girl to be exact, with long black hair.
"Lucy!"
He took off running towards the girl, only casting a quick glance over his shoulder to make sure his friends were still okay. When He looked back, however, the girl had vanished. Ty reached the spot where she stood and looked around. She was nowhere to be seen. Distraught, he fell to his knees. He sat there a moment in sorrow until something shiny caught his eye. Gently picking it up out of the sand he realized that it was a heart shaped locket with the letters "L.M.D." carved into the front. Could it be? Ty wondered in amazement as he turned it over in his hand. There was no visible lock mechanism, but if this was what he thought it was, then he could open it.
He studied the back for a moment before tapping three different spots with his finger. Nothing happened. He turned the locket back over and pressed his thumb against the point and ran it along the right side of the heart. About 3/4 of the way up he stopped and pressed his thumb against the side hard, then pushed downwards like it had a latch. The locket sprang open. Inside were two photographs.
The one on the left was in true Dalmarkian fashion: stoic, faded colors, and people dressed up to the nines. The photograph was a portrait of a man and a woman. They wore a stern expression and they seemed a little intimidating. The woman was seated, her hands folded gently in her lap, with the man behind her, his hand on her shoulder. Both wore full regalia. The woman a long flowing dress with ruffled sleeves and a high collar. Around her neck she wore a necklace with a single, polished jewel, most likely magicite. The man wore a suit with a very stiff collar. His somber expression only seemed intensified by the wire rim glasses he wore. Ty could almost see the chain of the man's pocket watch glimmer in the twilight.
The other picture was much different than the first. One connoisseur of Dalmarkian photography would have regarded it as a mistake and would have ordered it destroyed. Somehow this picture avoided that. The photo showed two teenagers, laughing. One would guess that something particularly funny had happened the moment the photo was being captured. The girl's smile seemed to light up the picture. Her dress was a little less flashy than the woman's in the other picture. She seemed to be ruffleless, and the dress was a little lower cut. Her black hair was tied back and adorned with a simple ebony comb. She was almost doubled over from the laughter. The boy behind her had only cracked a smile, his own smile, trying to keep composed, but was visibly losing that war.
Ty recognized both photographs and slumped down farther into the sand, tears welling up in his eyes. He gently touched the first photo.
"Mom...Dad..." he said. He looked at the other photo again an really lost it. Lucy had been here. She was safe. The chain of the locket was intact so he figured she had lost it, and that she was still somewhere out there. A feeling of relief washed over him, cleansing him of the dark aura. THis was the first news of her he had heard in months. The fact that she could still be alive gave him hope. Warily, he got to his feet and wiped his eyes. Ty tucked the locket into his pocket and avoided eye contact with his friends.
"I-I', sorry for any trouble I've caused you. If you wish to leave, I would understand. I have caused both of you so much grief and have done little to pay you back for it. I can find her on my own...I'll be okay." Ty waited for their response. Part of him wished that they would brush his words aside and stay with him. He really did care for the furball and the hunk of junk. They were the only ones who had really been nice to him since his world was destroyed. But after all this, he was more than certain that they would abandon him on the beach.

((So uhhh, before I get to the post I just think that it is worth noting that this thread is a year old today...soooooooooo: Seriously though guys, we should probably think about wrapping this up.)) The waves seemed never ending. N-not the ocean waves, though I am sure they will go on for eternity, the heartless waves. For every shadow Navitas destroyed, ten more took their terrible, easily opened places. Worse yet, some shadows realized that restraining the metal man standing between them and their target would probably be a good idea and began leaping onto Navitas.
Navitas found that disposing of these pests was becoming quite the hassle. Not only were they bursting out of the ocean like spring poppies on a Texan prairie, but they were so hellbent on getting to their meal that soon enough Navitas wouldn't be able to keep up. It was pointless, they were swarming! How could one adolescent attract this many eldritch creatures at once!? Eventually it became too much for Navitas; the smarter shadows were really piling on him by now. He began to slump forward, eventually falling into the sea. The shadows probably thought they had won, but Navitas had one last trick up his...arms.
The metal warrior let out a long sight before swaying his body back and forth. "Silly heartless." He said as he swayed. "I'm not edible!" Having gained enough momentum, Navitas used his weight to roll through the water and crush the heartless hanging onto him with his metal body. With most of them gone, Navitas stood up and flung the other heartless off with ease. He was about to appreciate aloud how amazing it was to be able to talk underwater, when a grand magical explosion took place nearby. The blast spooked Navitas, and the oaf ended up back in the water. The heavy fool was eventually able to emerge from the water, and the first thing he saw was Ty standing heartless free! Navitas let out a triumphant cry, and began slicing apart the nor visibly nervous shadows. Apparently Ty wasn't so appetizing, as the heartless that were not destroyed began to rapidly flee the scene.
With the heartless crisis over, Navitas took a moment to stand and rest his weary arms. He probably would have went on to sit down if Ty's yelling didn't catch his attention. The boy was running off again, and Navitas was not please. "Oh for the pity's sake Tyler, give us a second to recover before you have another breakdown!" Navitas shook his head in an exasperated fashion before taking to the air and following Ty. He took a split second to locate Koggles and after locating his proper...loca-tion, he focused his attention on Ty. Ty thankfully stopped his running and Navitas would stop his flying right behind him. Navitas looked down at Ty but didn't see anything very interesting. What caused him to stop running about? What caused him to start for that matter...hm. Ty went on to suggest that he could go off on his own, and Navitas had some choice (and rather confused) words to say about that. "I must admit, I am not yet aware who this 'her' is but if she's important enough to make you go temporarily mad I suppose she must be found posthaste. I would hate for you to suddenly summon a hoard of heartless in the middle of an amusement park or something. What say you Koggles?"
