A dark filled room, even though it was mid day. A pair of red eyes appeared in the abyss, shuffling about the room. Now dressed, the light switch flicked on, illuminating a large room. Amongst the clothes stood Lynn, the 19 year old daughter of Katie Dawn. Sheathing her blade on her hip, Lynn made her way down some stairs to the bright sunlight. Arm above her brow, Lynn walked into the town square of the place she had called home since birth. Disney Town. Going to a vendor, she bought a red Popsicle, eating it with a slightly happier look than normal. She had a good feeling about today. She didn't get that feeling often.

In a dark section of the square, a dark portal manifested against the wall of a large building, and two individuals emerged from the darkness. The cloaked figure, turned and watched the dark doorway vanish, sighing in relief. Until he saw that his swords had become nothing but mere handles. "...Terrific...Guess I'll have to learn how to turn those two on and off as well..." *Alright, we're safe from the monsters, now what can I do about getting rid of these weird clothes?" "Just remove the cloak, the magic will do the rest."
Slowly removing the cloak, he noticed that his clothes had slowly transitioned to look just like the clothes he had on before, only now he had an dark ring fused to the cable on his left arm accessory, which was slowly absorbing the vanishing cloak in a mist of light "Should you ever be in a world infested by darkness, this ring will manifest the protective garment I've made for you." Arin raised an eyebrow and stared at the ring oddly "Kind of dark, don't you think? Makes me think you're trying to trick me into accepting the darkness and let it consume me again..." "There are better alternatives, but until you can find me, this is all I can provide. When the time comes, I will speak with you again, find your bearings until then, and see what you can do on your own."
Sighing, Arin looked over at Locust, to check the state he was in "How are you holding up Locust?"

"Peachy." Locust sarcastically confirmed. The twinges of pain had subsided for feelings of a strange emptiness. He guessed it was a side effect of losing as many insects at once like that. Once he realized that the area they emerged in was far more populated, he asked his new friend a favor.
"I don't fit in here. Can you bu me a little privacy for a moment?"
Without really waiting for an answer, the gestalt dodged down an alley and leaned against a wall. Concentrate. You've done this before. The told himself as he calmed his mind. He focused on the image of a human. A little shorter than he was now, but every bit at believable as his new friend was. During his visualization, the top layer of insects began to change. Their pigments became brighter; matching the colors of flesh and clothes. 'Hair' began to appear on his head, neatly combed back out of the way. His old hooded coat draped over his shoulders was moved aside to reveal the trim figure of a young man, only a few years older than Arin. With the transformation complete, he emerged, smiled, and patted his ally on the shoulder with a gloved hand.
"Thanks." His voice was clearer than before. No longer was he accompanied by a chorus of tiny bugs chirping and hissing. If it wasn't for his eyes' coloration, some might have thought him a completely different entity.

With a Yawn, Lynn closed her eyes while lying down on the bench adjacent to the fountain. In her mind, Lynn started to have visions of random things. Before long, a vision of a few things that seemed like very dark spots of energy nearby appeared in her mind for a brief second, quickly being pushed aside by random other thoughts. Smiling, Lynn kept her eyes closed, twirling her blade above her head. She really had no plans for the day. What was Rubbi up to? Probably destroying yet another battalion of heartless. As usual. Lynn never got those fun assignments, probably because she couldn't use any magic.

"Uh...Sure..." Arin leaned against the wall near the alleyway, looking around to try and spot something or someone that would help them in the new world. So far, the town looked fairly peaceful, nothing threatening about it. There were a few people wandering the streets, and one girl having a popsicle. It was then that Arin realized, he hadn't had anything to eat all day, and his stomach was growling loud enough for him to hear. Locust was able to hear the faint echo of Arin's stomach as he came back from his little 'adjustment' "...Don't mention it...I don't suppose any of your insects are carrying munny? I haven't had anything to eat since waking up from the darkness..."

"Munny?" The look on his face betrayed his confusion. Up until now, The insects that formed his body had scavenged their own food among themselves and his surroundings. Since he had gotten here, Locust had received zero human interactions before Arin. He was oblivious to the economics of this place. His world had many currencies, but none of them were called 'Munny.' In an attempt to not seem stupid, he gave the simple answer.
"Not really. Haven't had the need for it." He shrugged and gave his friend a sheepish look. "Sorry." A fragment of memory returned to him at the situation. For a time while he was in his first year at the university, he lived off of a meager sum. There were weeks where he either didn't have enough money for food, or just plain forgot. Ironically, he still managed to gain the Freshman 15. It was a nice, nostalgic memory, but didn't really offer any solutions to his friend's problem.

"I see...Thanks anyway..." Arin looked around and tried to figure out what they should do, now that they were in this strange new place. Wandering aimlessly would be a foolish idea, since it could possibly get them in trouble, best to find someone that can help them out. "Well, no point standing around like a pair of statues, might as well see if anyone here is willing to show us around." Gesturing for Locust to follow, Arin started walking through the town square, where the girl on the bench just seemed to be resting "Hang back for a sec, Locust, I'll ask her where we are. Maybe she can even help show us around."
Arin walked over to the bench, where the girl was lying down and resting "Excuse me miss?" When he finally got her attention, he continued "Can you tell me where I am? My friend and I just got here, and we have no idea what this place is."

Lynn sighed as someone began to talk to her. She tilted her head his way as she opened her bright red eyes. Once he was done talking, Lynn managed to push jump over him, unsheathing her blade that was on the back of her waist. She then let the point fall to the ground, sighing again. "My senses must be off today. I felt a large amount of darkness in your direction. It can't be." Sheathing her blade, Lynn added "You are in Disney Town, my home. And that is Disney castle, where my sister works." Friend? Lynn didn't see any "friend" of his. Guess that means this guy is kinda...loopy? Meh, doesn't matter to me if he has an imaginary friend. Lynn asked "What are you looking for? I'm bored, so I guess I'll help."

"Gee, you're so generous..." Arin replied, oh so condescendingly. He scratched his head while curiously inspecting Lynn and the town some more. This girl was pretty good at sensing darkness, lucky for him his wasn't running loose. But his body did feel heavy for some reason, as if something was weighing him down. Doing his best to keep his composure, despite the burden of his darkness growing, he signaled Locust to come over and join them "Well, that's the thing, Locust and I have never been to this place...Or, I haven't at least, I can't really say for sure about him. Maybe you could show us around? We could use a guide around t-"
A sudden wrenching pain was constricting Arin's heart, and Arin quickly brought his hand to his chest, groaning in pain. "Not again!" He knew he was vulnerable to the darkness, but he didn't think it progressed this far *I have to focus, channel the light, drive out the darkness.* Arin's body started shuddering as a mixture of black and white wisps began to emit from his body *I won't let it consume my heart again, I CANT!* Stumbling onto the bench, Arin put all of his focus on expunging the darkness from his heart, while muttering to himself "Get...out...of my heart..."

Locust had followed Arin to the girl, but he wasn't very interested in talking. They needed Munny and their bearings in this world. He was sure he could provide the latter with a little time. A wasp crawled out from his coat and onto his hand. The gestalt and the insect stared at each other for a moment before the winged things turned and flew off. Its mission was twofold. First, find and dominate new insects for Locust's body and, second, learn the area. It would probably take a day or two, but he would gain this knowledge soon.
His attentions were grabbed by Arin motioning for him to join the conversation. He would slowly walk up next to his friend and the girl with her weapon drawn. He nodded in agreement with Arin while he talked, but never once would he make eye contact with the girl. His blazing orange eyes would study her form briefly before wandering away to look at his surroundings more. At least until his friend abruptly stopped talking. He attention was fixed on him now. He looked on slightly worriedly as the flares of light and darkness swirled around.
"Arin! What's going on?" He voiced his concern openly and looked at him and then to the girl, keeping on guard for her reaction. If she made some sort of threatening move towards his suffering friend, Locust would not hesitate to defend.

Lynn nodded to Locust, seeing that Arin wasn't crazy. Maybe, maybe not. As Arin sat on the bench with wisps of light and darkness leaving him, Lynn fished something out of her pocket. "Say, do you have heart burn? Have some of these Pepto Bismol pills. The label reads Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset stomach....the last one is drawn over..." Lynn did not have a clue what was going on, but she had an idea, "I can call my sister, If you want. She would surely know what to do."

Great, the girl was cracking jokes now. That, or she was talking about something he wasn't around for "I don't even...know what that is..." Arin winced as he felt darkness flooding back in through the opening in his heart, trying to force it back out with as much light as he could muster. "My heart...is in a 'partially sealed state'...I don't know how...But I do know that I could become consumed by the darkness that keeps worming its way inside...Unless I maintain a balance by channeling light to drive it out..." Arin was struggling still, but seemed to have stabilized for now, only minor wisps of light and darkness escaping from his body. He looked up at the girl and nodded "...If your sister knows a way to keep the darkness from finding a way in...Then call her..." A few shadows sprouted up, creeping their way over to where the ambient darkness was attracting them. Arin saw this and froze in place, staring at the shadows approaching Lynn and Locust from behind. "...Because...I think...I might also be attracting them..."

Jokes. Really? Locust thought in disbelief. He was anticipating fear or confusion or something that could induce a violent reaction for the mysterious stimulant. Humans were much more unpredictable than he remembered. But that could also just apply to this one girl. Either way, it didn't matter. As Arin explained his precarious situation in life, shadows crept into the corners of the gestalt's vision. Even while hidden beneath his disguise, his insect components began to chitter and hiss as a vain threat to the rising darkness around them.
Locust put his back to his ally and assumed a more defensive stance. He wouldn't drop his 'human' form just yet, as he didn't have any reason to trust the girl to not attack him as well once he changed. "Get it together, Arin. We can cover you for now." He did his best to assure the man he could handle it, but Locust was also injured and didn't have time to agglomerate new bugs into his swarm. Hopefully, Arin could force his darkness to subside long enough for them to escape or at least stem the tide of shadows.

"Tsk tsk tsk. Rubbi will be here in a sec. I'll cover you till she's done." Lynn said as she pressed the "Help" button on her tracker. Before they could blink, Rubbi (Lynn's sister) landed in the square from a jump. Rubbi's brownish hair shined with the armor she was wearing. "You rang, Lynn?" Lynn just pointed at Arin. "Can you help this guy? He needs his heart unlocked then relocked to let out some darkness." Lynn shuffled over to Locust. "Lynn Dawn is the name. I doubt I'll be much help, just sayin'." Rubbi walked over to Arin, pressing her index and middle finger over his heart. (If this isn't okay, just say so). Rubbi then turned her fingers like a key, unlocking his heart. The darkness would be expelled from his heart, releasing all of his hearts limits giving him temporary unbelievable power. If it isn't re-locked (1/3 Posts), he will nearly pass out and be even more vulnerable to darkness.

Arin writhed on the bench as he felt the darkness being forced from his heart by the strange new technique, hearing a familiar voice echoing in his mind "The darkness has grown further than expected. At the rate it was progressing, you wouldn't have found your way to me in time. I shall help you regain balance one final time, but never again. I need your inner strength just as much as you need mine."
Arin slowly rose to his feet, rubbing the dark ring on the cable of his glove. In a bright flash of light with black electrical sparks (how's that for logic xD), the hooded coat materialized around Arin's body, better shielding him from the influences of darkness outside of the coat. Unfortunately, The sudden outburst of darkness summoned forth a dark creature far larger than any he had ever seen, standing on two folded, paper thin feet. The monster was massive, and looked like it was built like a linebacker...whatever that was.
The monster lifted up its' fist and punched the ground, summoning forth some more shadow creatures. This was a huge threat on their hands. *This is bad! If we don't dispose of that larger one, the entire town square could become infested with these things!* Arin grabbed hold of his sword handles and rushed forward, the blades manifesting and starting to take on different hues in accordance to the element it was going to wield; an onyx black for his dark sword that emphasized the blue runes on the sides of the blade, and a bluish silver for his light sword. *Remember what that voice said. Channel the opposing forces. I have to form a balance within the inner chaos of my heart, and unleash its raw power in a concentrated form.*
As Arin charged forth swatting shadows out of his path, his body began to glow, a swirling ring of darkness encompassing his feet, and rising upward. The effects seem to be happening faster than the first time, maybe because he was less concerned with the outcome. Unlike before, however, the darkness seemed to be molding around his body as he moved, possibly an adaptability to him moving now, the power still felt the same.
There was no pillar of light this time, it was too bright out. But when Arin leapt up onto the giant monster's arm, the light and darkness surrounding his body exploded outward, the light and dark fragments surrounding the blades of his swords again. As Arin ran up to reach the monster's head, his light sword dug into and dragged along the length of its arm, leaving a shining gash in its black flesh that would go all the way from its wrist to its shoulder.
(That's right, I just summoned up a Darkside =3)

"We weren't referring to you." Blunt, and a little rude, but Locust was more worried about the monster forming than his manners. He was so focused that he had forgotten to suppress the sound of his body. The insectoid choir made his voice sound much different. It bounced with an ethereal sound as some of the voices were early and others were late.
Locust stared at the surging shadows before him. His fingers drummed his palm in anticipation of the creature's form or forms. With a graceful arc, the largest monster he'd ever seen emerged. Its brilliant golden eyes brought forth a feeling Locust thought he had diligently defended against: fear. Something about this creature struck more fear in him than anything else he had encountered. Was it just its size? Was there something about it that tugged at the chains of a marred past buried in his heart?
Before he could move- before he could even shake away the fear- Arin recovered and immediately started his assault. A massive slash from the younger man's sword also cut at the inexplicable terror that had gripped the gestalt. He shook himself out of fear while physically shaking away his disguise. He would need his full power to help defeat the behemoth.
Once again his form filled out the tattered dark coat. His orange eyes blazed like lanterns through the otherwise featureless face of his true shape. The insects hissed and chittered and writhed with life. They were anger and ready to fight once more.
"This demon will die today." He uttered as he charged the massive foe. Other than appearing a bit leaner, there was nothing that could determine the condition of Locust. It did not matter anyway. There was more than enough power around now to defeat this creature as well as its minions. It was time for Locust to get to work. He would start with a little crowd control.
"We have the small fries. You can get the big one." He started smashing the heads of the shadows around him. The bites and stings of hundreds of insects did their best to help, adding to the effectiveness of his hits.
