A quiet a dull place, a central area for meditation and a perpetual cycle of new inhabitants. There was just one room in the inn here that was never rented out to anyone else at this point, as a frequent flier had made a deal with the owner at this point from being so familiar and generous at the same time. It was quite odd, the entity that never slept using an inn more often than anyone else who is recurring that the owner has seen. Well, it could be argued that it's simply a temporary residence and people who scope a more permanent option get an actual house or something... though that wasn't important to JeY. He just wanted to sit down and focus.
There had been a lot on this sleepless being's mind, so many questions and very few answers. How was he to cross dimensional space that wasn't suppose dot be cross and repair a friendship that he himself crushed so deeply beyond any point of possibly returning? And what should the man even make of any of this? His primary and only goal in life was to restore his former power, and every day he seemed to be getting closer. He felt like a key answer lie in his memories that he inherited, but he was so focused on this... trivial matter he never explored that solution.
What he knew so far? These memories were from copies of himself... But how was that possible? More questions, just what he needed. He had wanted to become a human again for whatever reason, remembering cherishing this body once, but since that choice he's only been unhappy. Human bodies are frail, and humans have to deal with emotions - something he was numb of for an uncountable length of time in his previous form. But, anything would be better than what he was cursed with prior so he never was disappointed with his situation too long. But it definitely took a toll on him...
Even though he was not truly and fully human again, but merely acquired a new body shape and set of internal rules for himself, it seemed that one human element had also started to come back. He was still pretty numb on the inside, but there were vague hints creeping around his demeanor that he could actually feel, or have empathy at least. The thought of feelings coming back was troublesome, as when JeY was first running around this universe with his new form he felt free but ultimately nothing else. He simply didn't care. Emotions were a foreign concept - he knew what they were and how to recognize them, even how to manipulate and toy with them, but he didn't feel them. Well, back then he didn't. Now, he didn't have any better explanation for his current dilemma.
Due to the severity of his own internal structure, sitting down and meditating for his norm just wouldn't work. He would need movement, and air due to being far too antsy. So, he took this session outside and decided to delve into his thoughts with his eyes open and wandering around the various streets and sidewalks of this eternally-in-night town. 'What I need is some sort of angel. A real one.' he thought unironically to himself, having fond memories of a girl named Angel whom eventually... he didn't want to delve down that path in memory lane anyway. However, what would await him shortly after making such a baseless comment to himself would be too good to be true.

Down an alley, a sudden flash of bright light emitted in the middle of it lighting up the alley for just a few seconds before it dimmed and died out. Where the light had suddenly appeared, now stood a woman that looked no older than somewhere in her twenties. Of course, to any naked eye, she would look nothing more than a young woman that appeared to be adept in the magical arts, maybe even healing. Her garments certainly made her look that way and the staff she had at her side clearly proved that point. She wore a robe-like top that seemed to flow out, covering her upper body. No one would know that underneath, aside from the tank top she wore, that she had a pair of red wings underneath that were folded quite close to her back so no one would immediately take notice of them.
As far as anyone knew, as Aiko Matsuda walked out into the street, Aiko was a normal young lady adorned in light blue clothing. As she stepped out, Aiko looked at her general surroundings. It looked like she had stumbled upon a world covered in nightfall. She wasn't aware that this was this world's usual time. That it was a world covered in nightfall all times of the day and night. Curious as to why she had suddenly arrived here, Aiko decided her best bet would be to wander the streets for a time. Eventually, she would figure out why she had come to such a world. After all, where she was sent out on missions, she was never told exactly what they were. She always had to go by a certain notion what she was meant to do in each area she appeared in.
"Hm, what a charming place..." Aiko murmured to herself as she walked out to what appeared to be some kind of center square. There were a number of shops lying all around and in the very center, there was a fountain of sorts. It didn't appear to be active right now. As she stood there, Aiko frowned a little. Here, she could sense a significant amount of darkness. However, that darkness seemed to be hiding away from her for the time being. It knew enough to stay well enough away from something like herself. After all, her light was quite overwhelming to those that could sense it. The very staff she carried was her limiter. It kept her Seraph energy from burning out the mortal shell she was in and killing it. Her Seraph energy could literally burn the shell she wore if not for the limiter. If it every came to a point where she had to go full Seraph, Aiko's mortal shell would die and she would be sent back to whence she came. She would adorn a new mortal shell but her appearance wouldn't be the same if that were to happen. That was why, if she could, she would rather not risk losing her present mortal shell. It took too long to find a replacement.
Even though it looked to be nightfall, Aiko spotted someone on the street who appeared to be just going for a walk. Maybe they could tell her where it is that she was? "Excuse me...sir? Could you please tell me where it is that I am?" Aiko questioned the man in a soft but gentle and polite tone. Where his attire might make people question him, maybe even intimidate people, Aiko held no judgement over it. In fact, where she believed she was sensing something about this person, she felt no immediate danger coming from this particular individual. Of course, she could not tell what he was. It was just she could sense something off but not in a dangerous sort of way. Maybe this was the reason why she was here? She could be wrong though. Never the less, she was optimistic. Maybe this person could be a new friend? Aiko wasn't beyond making new friends, after all. It had been a long time since she traversed the living plane. So, making new friends was very welcome.

A normal therapeutic and casual stroll would be interrupted by a sudden burst of... something. JeY was very sensitive to energy, and with such a rapid change in a concentrated area so closely nearby caused his eyes to jolt open and glance in the direction it came from. It was a strong enough signal to jolt him out of even his deepest thoughts. It wasn't immediately nearby, and from what he could feel he guessed it came from behind some buildings closer to the center of town. There was no rush, he sensed the energy belonged to a living being and could tell exactly where it was going. that was the extent of what he could tell without actually seeing this entity for himself however.
Adjusting the route of his nonchalant walk, he made his way over to the direction the being would eventually end up and inevitably crossed paths should it not make any random strays in its own course. What piqued his curiosity so much was the affinity of the energy; it was light-based, half of the very essence that comprised him. Well, technically a half, it would only be a third overall with the combination element thrown into the factor. Both of his Light and Darkness were equally prevalent at all times, though his Light worked more behind the scenes and his Darkness was more an active and outwardly energy. The perfect combination of these two, which normally went undetected due to lacking an affinity entirely, was his Chaos energy, which worked both ways. It's what fuels his blood instead of food and oxygen, keeps his brain awake with limitless potential to eliminate the need for sleep, and is his very life-force.
It wouldn't be too long before JeY managed to be in range. his eyes were closed, his thoughts were clearer this way as his human sense of sight merely divided his power of sense further and to him, sight was an inferior sense though entirely necessary in this physical realm and part of being a human. Even with his eyes closed though, he could see shapes and the world was mapped in energy instead of colors and textures. This was a person, but definitely no ordinary person. He made it his goal to investigate further, but then the woman spoke to him first instead. His skin crawled slightly, not quite expecting that. He wondered what she was capable of briefly before opening his eyes and replying.
Standing in front of his different-colored irises of purple and yellow was a beautiful girl, though his ability to feel attraction had long been dulled and the adjective rolled around in his head as a mere observation than something he was glad for. Apparently she didn't know where she was. Well, this wouldn't be the first time he's shown someone new to Traverse town around, but at least this person wouldn't try to kill him first. That poor guy... he was funny, and fun to mess with. What Joy the Chaotic man felt when confronting an ordinary human while being as powerful as he is. Oh well, this time was entirely the opposite.
"Traverse Town. How did you get here? If that question is too invasive you don't have to answer." He said. It had a little bit of a curtness to it, but that's just how JeY was. He expressed little emotion in his socializing, and spoke straight and to the point. Though, he phrased that question in a particular way on purpose. If this girl had nothing to hide, further questioning would be so much simpler and he could extract and pick apart the origins of her affinity to the Light. This was routine for him at this point; in an attempt to further the recovery of his own powers he sought sources of light and darkness to harness them, but after receiving those memories without actually sorting them all first, he had a distinct feeling that continuing to do so was actually a waste of time. He'd ignore that feeling for now, instead carry out the motions of what he's known for a while now.

What she looked like never really crossed Aiko's mind as she approached this individual. He seemed in thought from the look of things. Hopefully, she wasn't interrupting anything? Honestly, she found him interesting. Actually, she found just about any mortal interesting. Heck, she even came across fellow immortals and would find them interesting. She had not been in the living plane for some time now so it was like a new experience stepping onto it once more. Aiko knew she had her duties to uphold but she was allowed the liberties of doing mortal things from time to time if only to relax. Of course, she could not afford herself luxuries or becoming lax. If she did, it could mean the fate of the worlds and those that lived within them.
It was to Aiko's inner relief that she hadn't offended the person when asking him a question as to where she was. So, she was in a place named "Traverse Town". When he had said this, she couldn't help but glance around from where she was standing once more. It certainly looked like a town of sorts. Bringing her attention back over to the youth she had come across, she heard him questioning her about how she got here. Well, that was a question she could answer.
"I came here through portals or pathways of light, as you would call them. I use them to traverse between worlds. Mind you, I cannot simply travel immediately here and there physically in one world. These pathways of light are meant to traverse from one world to the next."
Why did this individual wish to know how she got here? That was something that she had to wonder. Maybe it was simply just curiosity? "Why would you like to know?" she questioned him. "Do you live in this world?" she asked out of curiosity and to just enjoy some conversation for the time being. A way for her to ease herself into this world that she wasn't familiar with. If she was lucky, she might be able to learn more about this world from this individual.
"Oh! Pardon my manners! My name is Aiko Matsuda, what's your's?"

[Pronounciation {this will come in handy later}: Kel-fon-j Yay-gir Cal-see-air Cah-tran]
Well, this being was particularly interesting. She can use portals to travel, but not intermediately within a world. JeY was unsure why she had to add that last deal in, but perhaps she was one of those meticulous people who felt the need to go above and beyond explanations, possibly anticipate questions that could arise. He didn't really care about the fine print in all honesty, a general statement would have sufficed. He wouldn't say anything, it was unnecessary to bring it up, he figured might as well let her be who she is.
Speaking of honesty, the girl asked a very interesting question in return. Of course, in all of his cold calculations he never thought of a reason he would be so inclined to ask. Well, he valued blatant honesty more than other traits, though he felt an interesting idea pass through his brain for a bit of a bluff. It wasn't an utter lie, there wasn't anything that happened in Traverse Town without him knowing really having spent most of his time here, but the idea of a formal title wasn't completely accurate. Self-proclaimed is definitely a thing, but he would simply leave that detail out. So... Truth, but not the entirety of one.
"I'm an overseer. It's rare that something happens in this town without me knowing." He said. Which was also mostly true, except for when he wasn't on the world. Maybe he should include that bit so it sounds at least a little believable. "...Except when I'm travelling. I also use portals, but they're probably unlike anything you've seen." He said. What an egotist, boasting whatever chance he got. Though he wasn't here to measure the size of what lies between crotches, nor to gain flattery. This girl had a purpose and he was going to find that out in order to get closer to her origins, that being his ultimate goal of this meeting.
Yes, this encounter definitely seemed worthy of his time. She was also respectable, only giving up her own name first before actually asking. The conveyance of names was always a bigger formality for him than it should have been. Neither of them have earned each other's names yet, however this would be an appropriate timing for such an exchange even if it wasn't their business yet. He saw no harm in introducing himself, especially when he wanted to learn something very personal and specific about her. Maybe he could lower her guard with his own full name, one he never spoke except for special occasions. A quick painful memory of the sentient entity of Order made his right eye wince just slightly as he spoke, but he thought why not have some fun with this.
"KelfonJe-Yeiger Kalsiar Katran. Everyone calls me JeY, though. I implore you do as well." He said. It felt oddly relieving to give out his real full name for once rather than obscuring some of it under his nickname first. Wait a minute, was that a hint of emotion? If he wasn't in the presence of a strange he would shake his head and sigh, however his composure remained solid. Plus, he never truly finished answering that girl's question. "And yes, I 'live' here, but that would imply I am a living being." He said, in retrospect was probably a bad idea. He was a living human, but the lack of a need to breathe, eat, sleep... He still had lungs to talk and to take breaths to calm himself down at times, but whenever he was still they were dormant. When he spoke of not being a living being however, he was referencing an encounter with a strange suit of armor where he claimed a lack of humanity which he thoroughly still believes, but simply accentuated in this scenario. Hopefully she wouldn't react too harshly.

Aiko wasn't sure what Jey was thinking as she waited for him to answer her questions. She wasn't demanding them, simply asking them out of curiosity. As he answered her question he made it sound like he was some sort of person that watched over this world. Aiko, of course, didn't know the truth of the situation but she wasn't one to question it. She was, after all, new to this world. If he was what he claimed to be, he would know more of this world than she had anticipated. It sounded like she had a good stroke of luck running into this individual.
"An overseer, you say? Interesting. Just what does an overseer do? Forgive my asking so many questions, I'm rather curious since this is my first time coming here."
When the young man introduced himself, Aiko couldn't help but blink back at him. His true name was quite a mouthful to say. In fact, she didn't think she would be able to say it right without messing up in the process. Thankfully, he gave her a name he seemed to go by when dealing with others. That was a good thing because she wasn't sure if she would be able to say his true name right. It was a lot to say in one go. JeY was a name he preferred she call him by anyway. Maybe he encountered a number of others unable to say his name appropriately too?
"Well met, JeY." Aiko gave him a polite nod of her head to acknowledge she had heard what he preferred she call him as. She wasn't sure what it was that he wanted to know about her. There might be questions she might not answer according to her code of conduct or depending on the type of questions they were. After all, she could not tell others up front what she was to them. They had to find that out for themselves.
Aiko could not help but look back at JeY curiously as he went on to state that he did live here but he wasn't exactly alive. Honestly, Aiko couldn't help but blink at him. She was certain he wasn't what she was. If he were, she would have sensed it. Granted, there appeared to be something in him from another plane like the one she came from but there were other parts to his aura that were clearly not of the plane she had come from. He also did not give off a demonic aura. Just what was he?
"Not...living? You...seem alive to me...?" Aiko said looking at him more closely. How could he be dead? He didn't look dead.

Oh, how fun. the girl seemed enthralled with his self-proclaimed title, and it did truly fit him after all. He liked this position he was getting into, as getting what he wanted from the girl in a non-violent way without any threats, black-mail or the like was his preference. He was going through far too many personal troubles to add yet another to his long list of-- er, Well, it wasn't that long anymore since he started over in this universe, after arriving in the Land of Dragons some time ago.
He could almost smile slightly at his own thought derived from early memories of regaining a human body. Being incapable of expressing much emotion if any in a casual sense, there would be no change in the boy's face as these things crossed his mind briefly after the girl spoke. Oh, and JeY guessed it was kind of cute that she was self conscious of asking questions, but more like in a 'aww look at the cute puppy' way than a 'ooh you're cute and attractive' way. Probably for the better as well. If his emotions weren't sprung with Van, Angel, heck even his alternate self (which honestly would've been super weird by society's standards) and even a possible hope of re-kindling with Raven... Well they weren't going to start now. Probably.
"I don't really do much. I know about things. I'm actually kind of selfish, I do it for my own personal goals rather than the benefit of anyone else." He admitted. Well, no holds barred, everything was going to pour out. It's not like he cared about his appearance to others, and if he was going to need to threaten her for her information at some point it may as well be sooner rather than later. He didn't think that his little statement alone could possibly scare her away so easily. "But more often than not, I end up helping newcomers. Like you. So... You're not the first." He said. Nice recovery. Wait, recovery? Didn't he just not care about his honesty just two seconds ago? Sheesh.
Moving on, the girl understood the name thing without hitches and he nodded his head in return out of habit. He was confident that it wouldn't be an issue since the girl was very polite and respectful, an assumption that she'd make a decent effort to get something as important (at least, to JeY) as a name correct. However, what settled less with her was his bit about not being alive. He would've laughed, but again, only if he were capable. At first, it was a bit of a joke, playing off the notion that he was a soulless being. But, the idea grew in his head to play this one out. It would be fun, it seemed. Nothing dishonest about a hearty, harmless joke. Unless... she was afraid of ghosts. Probably not.
"The key word is seem. Please, stand perfectly still. Observe." He replied, uncrossing his arms and then taking a couple steps forward, he held his hand up as if he were going to grab the girl on the shoulder, though instead pushed his hand directly forward. It looked like an aggressive poke, but when his hand phased straight through the girl's body as if it didn't exist, it was obvious that something was amiss. He moved his hand from the girl's right shoulder to her left, danced it around and then involved his other arm and crossed them both back and forth twice, all the while he moved completely through her. At the same time, she wouldn't feel anything physically; if she had a tingling or chilly sensation that would be as a result of her own brain playing tricks on her since it perceives this entity moving through her but nothing actually happening.
Dropping his arms and taking another step back to give Aiko back her space, he stood on one foot with his other toe to the ground (he was fairly precise for not being able to take contact with it physically). "...Any other questions? I'm willing to answer anything. Maybe we can sit down for a drink; some tea, or coffee?" He said. Without ever really... inviting anyone out to food since he didn't eat himself, this was a bit strange but he imagined if the girl wanted to ask so much more they could do so in a more comforting environment than randomly in the middle of the street. Plus, the concept of a conversation would allow him to easily ask his own questions without seeming out of place. If Aiko was relaxed... well, the scenario was only more in his favor. He would probably tell her that he wasn't really a ghost sometime afterward though.

Aiko did not expect anyone to think of her physically as cute anyway. She didn't have such thoughts in her mind like mortals tended to. While JeY spoke, Aiko listened to him. He didn't do much, just knew things. Such knowledge wasn't for others but for his own gain. He had even admitted that he was selfish. Well, at least he was...honest about it? That was one good way of redeeming one's self, admitting things rather than lying about them. Then, he went on to state that, more often than not, he ended up helping newcomers such as she. She hadn't been the only newcomer he had helped.
"I see. I thank you for your help," Aiko replied.
When the subject had turned onto whether JeY was alive or not, he told her that the keyword was seemed. After instructing her to stand still for a minute, he told her to observe. Wondering what he was about to do, Aiko did as she was told. Sure enough, JeY showed her what he had meant. It was...startling, to say the least. She hadn't sensed anything to this extent about this JeY. His hands, it were as if he were ethereal, unable to actually push her or anything. Instead, his hands just phased right through her without causing her any harm. In fact, all she felt was a tingling feeling only because her mind knew it should feel something but it wasn't actually.
"How...do you do that?" Aiko questioned him curiously. It wasn't something she saw every day. When she was in the other plane, yes, but in this plane it was...not so common. So yes, she was curious. How was he even standing on the ground without phasing through it? It was a curious thing.
It didn't take long before he asked her if they should go somewhere to have a drink of coffee or tea while they talked. Well, it was better than just standing around out in the middle of this square. It left them open to attack if anything should show up that was strong enough to think it could contend with them.
"That sounds like a good idea. Sure, we can talk, thank you." She accompanied that with a cheerful, warm smile. It seemed like she had made a new friend...that was somehow ethereal.

"Absolutely." JeY replied in his usual monotone to Aiko thanking him. Of course he was sincere, but his innate inability to express emotion in general parameters probably made that difficult to believe. There was plenty of articulation in his voice and he was well-spoken, but the voice itself was just... dull. Hauntingly so at times. It seems he hadn't scared away this girl... yet.
She was certainly spooked with his trick however, phasing out of time-space seems to be quite an amusing way to get people's attention. When she asked how he did that, well the answer was simply. didn't he already tell her that he wasn't 'alive'? It would seem he was already answering that question, but she would be regarded with a verbal response as well. It was only natural. "I am ethereal; transcended. I exist, but don't really live. Yet, I am as powerful as they come. No need to be alarmed, we are comrades." He spoke, his eyes closed for the latter half of his little speech.
And of course, the matter of sitting down to talk. "Ah, very well. This way." He said, leading her to the inn which he occupied most of the time. The staff knew him well, once sat down with his guest one of the serving girls made her way over, greeting JeY by name and inquiring as to if the girl would like anything to drink. Once an order was filled, she would make her way to the back.
It was funny though, how someone who didn't exist in a physical realm could still walk on top of the land and be accommodated by the geometry. Come to think of it, he did open the door to this place, pull his chair out on his own and even sat down. He was phased back in by now, not fearing the girl possibly trying to touch him to re-assess his plight, however while phased out he was suspended by his own energy to make his stance look realistic - in a way he floated on the land to prevent from phasing through it. He was quite smart about how he worked it really.
With a lack of a smile, his expression still seemed oddly friendly. His face didn't bear any happiness but it lacked any hostility to compromise that feeling, and with his openness and honesty it seemed impossible that he wasn't friendly at this point. Or, at least he hoped, regarding the girl. Although he invited her to be the one asking questions, he would be the one to start this conversation off on the chance that she wasn't fully prepared with her own topics yet plus being curious in his own right. "In all honesty, you don't seem like a typical human yourself. Your aura suggests there is more that meets the eye. You don't have to go into detail, I'm merely curious as to my speculations, since you know I'm also not ordinary now." He said. Getting the information he desired to obtain from the start would be easier than he ever imagined if she answered this question with anything more than 'yes' or 'no', but that's a big if.

(OOC: Apologies for the wait.)
Aiko ha to admit it was interesting in how JeY spoke. He sounded monotone, lacking emotion. True, he may sound dull to most in tone but it piqued Aiko's curiosity. She didn't come across many that were like JeY. When he had phased through her as if she were nothing, Aiko inwardly recoiled. Where she was in a mortal shell, she worried if those that could transfuse through other solid beings would be able to notice the spirit within. She even had almost worried if he would have accidentally knocked her soul out of the shell she was using. Thankfully, it hadn't happened. Instead, she was left to question what JeY was.
Aiko listened as JeY further explained that he was what one would call ethereal. He existed but didn't really live. He was a confusing one, that was for sure. Aiko guessed there were more mysteries for her to encounter along her journey like this one. There was a high chance that she'd never solve any of them either. Life was surely an adventure.
Once Aiko agreed to sit and have a conversation with JeY, he lead the way back to what looked to be an inn. Aiko followed him all the way to what looked to be a table of sorts. As he sat down, Aiko took the seat opposite of him. It only just occurred to her that he had just opened the door and even moved the chair to take a seat. It made Aiko wonder how he was able to do that when he seemed to just faze through things. Could there be more to this JeY than he was letting her know? Well, they were strangers. She guessed it might be a form of protection even if JeY claimed that they weren't enemies but comrades.
A waitress had come over to their table soon after the pair of them had taken a seat. She seemed to know JeY by referring to him by name. It looked like the staff here appeared to know JeY. When the woman had asked Aiko if she'd like anything to drink, Aiko wasn't sure what they had. She took the safe route in ordering a glass of...milk. Yes, a glass of milk. The waitress took the order and walked off. When she did, JeY sprung into conversation. Somehow, he sensed that she was more than what the eye suggested. Quietly, Aiko surveyed JeY for a moment. He could sense there was something about her but wasn't sure exactly what she was.
"You are right in thinking I am more than what I appear to be. I know that you are not what you had appeared to be at first as well." Aiko had given a nod at that to acknowledge the fact. Unless he saw her red wings under her robe-like top she couldn't tell him what she was exactly.
"I am not trying to conceal information from you but know that there is a reason why I am not telling you in detail." Aiko had her strict code of conduct being what she was. She couldn't just simply run around blabbing to the worlds who and what she was. Even though her aura gave off that vibe, Aiko had to look inconspicuous to her foes. JeY was not a foe. Aiko didn't consider him as one at the moment. No, Aiko's foes were those that lived in the other plane of darkness.

Alright, so she would admit he was correct but wouldn't go any further. No matter, it was not his business to pry but he more or less got what he wanted anyway. There was only one more thing he really wanted to know, but it would seem strange to bounce off this sensitive question with another that could also be sensitive. He would have to appeal to her more maybe, as to not think something was up. He would start by being a bit dismissive of his own intentions. JeY nodded once Aiko finished her reply. "I was simply curious. I won't press further." He said.
That statement of respecting her privacy alone would be appealing enough, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he wanted to discuss something that was on his mind and maybe ask for help. What a sincerely awful impulse, even more unsettling was the fact was how much of a human characteristic it was of the need he felt. He cleared his throat to steady his mind and distract himself from the thought that occurred. His mind was indeed troubled but it was none of this stranger's business, just like this stranger's origin was none of his business (but he sought that information anyway).
"I'm always interested in the unusual, even more in particular those who have an affinity toward light or darkness. My own powers consist of a balance between both actually, thus I'm sensitive whenever anyone bearing their own internal source of light or darkness is around." He said, taking a slight pause to let that thought sink in. He hadn't finished speaking though of course. "It's how I came about finding you. No need to worry, it's all curiosity." He said, not technically lying. He had a goal to fulfill in this situation but that was to be satisfied by asking questions and obtaining information, which indeed he was curious about.
Of course, to ease any tensions he might as well make this more fun somehow. "You could say that I was attracted to you, in a sense." He said, his articulation expressing just a slight bit more expression than a bland monotone, his lips curving ever so slightly into a gentle smile. The girl hadn't felt threatened so far, so JeY wasn't worried of inducing any threat.
Meanwhile the waitress came back around with the glass of milk and gently set it on the table in front of Aiko. She nodded quickly before disappearing again. She would be back momentarily to check for any possible food requests. JeY would give the girl a moment do whatever she may initially decide upon receiving her beverage, once she looked comfortable again JeY would continue. "Though I'm also curious as to how you managed to travel into a world you've never been to nor knew the name of." He stated. There was more than one way to skin a cat, after all. This seemed like fair question to ask which could point more in the direction he was aiming for without alerting the girl any need to feel caution.

Aiko just nodded to acknowledge that she had heard JeY's statement about not questioning her further. Even if she did, she couldn't answer him. People had to discover what she was in their own way. Usually, she was forced into situations where she would have to resort to flight. When that happened was generally how she got discovered. Sometimes, a complete accident caused her to be discovered what she was. Those times, she could finally explain then what she was. It wasn't easy though to explain how she walked the mortal plane and why her angelic form didn't burn her mortal shell she wore to do so.
According to JeY, the reason why he knew she was more than what she was had been because being what he was permitted him to sense others of certain affinities. So, needless to say, he could tell that she had a strong affinity for light within although it was drastically limited. Heartless could sense the power within but only its limited form. If she were a full blown Seraph right now, there would be no question as to what she really was. Thankfully, her limiter was her staff that prevented the fully blown Seraph side to come forth. If she released that, she would have to wait a while before she could obtain another mortal shell to replace the one her Seraph powers had burned. Unfortunately, that took a hundred years or so.
"You mean, like a moth to a light bulb?" Aiko questioned him innocently. Aiko didn't see it as anything more than him just sensing what she was. She never thought she was beautiful or anything of the sort since her needs weren't mortal. She didn't need sleep and the like. Thus, no thoughts of flattery crossed her mind and she was innocent of mind.
The waitress had returned with the milk that Aiko had asked, when she placed it before her, Aiko looked over at her and smiled. "Thank you," she had said before the waitress left momentarily. Gratefully, Aiko took a sip of her drink. She really missed the taste of milk. It tasted just as good as it had those thousands of years ago when she had been alive. Setting the drink down, comfortable, Aiko heard JeY speak once more. His curiosity extended to how she managed to come across a world that she had never been to before nor knew the name of. A light smile appeared on her face then. She wouldn't lie to him about how she managed to get here.
"I am guided by an unknown force that takes me to where I need to go. It brought me here while I was traversing the pathways of light. There is a reason why I am here that I need to discover on my own. I am unsure of the reason but I am sure that it'll all come clear soon. Unfortunately, when I traverse the pathways of light, my travel isn't always of my own choice."

Through the girl's initial clarification, JeY simply nodded at first but decided to address it with a verbal confirmation as well. "You could say that." He said, while he wasn't as oblivious as a moth and didn't throw caution to the wind when approaching individuals, the concept of the analogy could still hold true with detailed and specific nitpicks around JeY's ego aside.
Moreover, the girl was a bit dense to his subtle and nonchalant expression which he merely stated to gauge reactions, and this reaction definitely shared a lot about the girl which he mentally noted. In all honesty, being a bit dense made his goal of obtaining certain blocks of information much easier as without that 'gutter' that could be defaulted to, nothing he said could be so involuntarily misunderstood that it would lead to an unintentional lockdown. He was thankful for that lack of possibility at least, and decided to let the rest of the conversation carry itself.
In any case, the girl relayed an information bit about her methods of travel. She was sent here on a mission, which made her an agent of some sorts. She works for a superior who seems to have a twisted method of work of sending units to deal with problems with absolutely zero background knowledge sans the fact that they know they're sent for a reason. How odd. This was quite an interesting reveal considering what JeY has thought about recently, and if perhaps she could answer another one of his strange questions she might know just her purpose. Otherwise he wouldn't mind taking some time off and helping her find it, as it would take his mind off a matter that's been plaguing him for an uncomfortable amount of time now.
But... an unknown force? So maybe she wasn't conceived by the higher-up she 'answers' to since apparently there's no face involved in what strives her to go to these locations. That little factoid about her being here without knowing why just seemed to raise more questions than it could've possibly have answered. Plus, it wasn't always her choice... So she gets to choose occasionally. JeY mentally shook his head - this was just too much. He'd better focus on right was in front of him or he'd never be able to get where he wanted to go.
"Hm. So like an angel then;" JeY began, totally using the term as an example without knowing exactly how much relevance it actually had in this situation, "Though I imagine you're a bit different. Right. I just have... one more strange question then before I make a simple proposition." He said. what kind of proposition he made would all depend on her answer, as well. "How well acquainted are you with the possibility of ripping open dimensional tears, specifically those used to travel to and from complete alternate universes?" He said, his face remaining completely bland though his articulation only slightly adjusting the pitch to indicate that he added a question mark to the end of his sentence.
From this point, this conversation would decide whether or not he'd rope the girl into a plan he may be forming and decide whether or not he would actually go through with it, or simply volunteer his time to assist the girl in finding her task sooner so she may receive... well, did she get paid for completing tasks, or was there any benefit to completing tasks sooner rather than later? Well regardless, helping her would help him waste time and take his mind off the original subject which plagued him even as he sat now.

Aiko meant no insult to JeY when she had referred to his situation like that of a moth. JeY was easily more intelligent than a moth. If anything, she had meant how the light attracted the moth. It wasn't an insult, at least not an intentional one. As for dense, it was understandable in Aiko's case. She hadn't been in the living realm for quite some time. Also, add on her innocence being what she was and that explained her.
When the subject had changed to how she got here, Aiko blinked when JeY referred to her situation like that of an angel. Of course, since he had said it, she believed that he might have caught on to what she was. "Yes," she agreed. When he went on to state that she seemed different, Aiko had given a nod. She wouldn't lie to him. She had to wonder just how much he knew though about her from simple guesses. Right now, she had thought that she was found out. It didn't matter to her now if the truth got out if he had. She wouldn't be breaking her code that she had to follow if that were the case.
"There is...a big difference."
Then, JeY stated that he had one more question to ask of her. It was a proposition of sorts. Before presenting the proposition to her, he asked her how familiar she had been to tearing open dimensional tears to travel to and from alternate universes. She thought of it for a moment. Had she been through alternate universes? Unfortunately, there was no definite answer for her to give. She arrived at places at random and at whim. Where she could voluntarily travel, she only dared to travel between worlds in the current universe. She wasn't sure if she could risk traveling between dimensions in her mortal shell. Her Seraph self, however, likely could but she'd have to return to the plane of the dead.
"I may have...it is not easy to know at best what times I have arrived in and the like. Why do you ask?" She could see there was something in JeY's eyes that might suggest that he wished to do something pertaining to that.
"Of course, I cannot tell for certain. I arrive in places at random."

[OOC: Let me know if... any of this gets confusing 0.o]
The response wasn't the most pleasing to the chaotic man's ears, but all things considered it really wasn't the worst. He doubted he would get any further in his own personal gains however because there was any possibility albeit slim, he would have to at least try, no matter how fruitless it may seem. Worst case scenario, he spent another two or so minutes chatting with a fine young lady and then he could quit wasting his time... but about that.
What time was there to waste? Was he really in any rush? The short answer was no, since he wasn't even decided on what he truly wanted. This being devoid of emotion still found it somewhat hard to completely disregard the struggle of wanting to make amends with a dear friend he had, which he has a distinct memory of said friend perishing to the hands of an evil counterpart. A death he had no control over, but desperately wanted to reverse. Technically, he already met an alternate copy of this friend but has long since lost contact. The travels JeY had with his own alternate counterpart reminded the man that when the two parted ways he had no idea where the friend went. So, this was like yet another chance.
But was it a chance he was truly motivated to make? Just like his current process now, what time did he have to waste? What was there to lose and how did that weigh in versus what there was to gain? It was all a very troubling issue, but sitting here and wondering about it didn't help in the slightest. He would pursue this slim opportunity. "I may... require some assistance, making a portal to a universe. Even a ghost has friends, and sometimes friends end up no longer being friends..." He said, recounting the memories of his dead alternate self, about how he tortured him and the boy's girlfriend in order to manipulate them, coming up fruitless, sacrificing himself and leaving it up to the JeY standing before Aiko now to repair the relationship he messed up so badly. But, what did JeY care? Apparently it was worth something, or this conversation wouldn't even be happening.
"I have a trip in mind but it might be a bit out of scale even for my abilities. But, if you don't know of a way you can help, since I need to make a very strong portal, I'll simply figure it out on my own time. I'm positive I can." He said, seemingly ending the proposition before he could even make it. He didn't want to rope the girl into feeling obligated to help him with a matter she knew she couldn't help just to try and make him feel better, so instead he would simply distract his mind from the issue further. "I appreciate you hearing me out. Though, I have spare time and you said you're here on a mission... Perhaps I can assist you in finding where you are needed, then?" He said.
Despite his very rational thoughts, his coy strategy to only implore the girl's help if she could actually help, it never occurred to them that maybe... maybe if she was capable of helping him produce such a strong portal, that perhaps her higher powers were alerted to this struggle and had sent her just for his case. He was never the person who needed help; he conducted his life independently and making entirely his own choices and never relying on a single ounce of help since there was never anything he couldn't do himself. While he may thought that making this portal himself might be possible, he didn't see any harm in perhaps making his life easier with t he assistance of another individual acquainted with the art of dimensional travel, but that's if they were acquainted. Still, he never believed nor would it even begin to cross his mind that the possibility of Aiko being sent for his sake was there, regardless if it was true or not.

Aiko wondered what this ethereal being could be thinking. She was not permitted to read the minds of those around her. Aiko knew that the mind was the sanctuary of the mortals but…was he even mortal? Even still, she would not try to read one’s mind. She couldn’t anyway if she wanted to. That gift was taken from her amongst some other things when she was placed into a temporary mortal shell to disguise herself as a mere mortal.
As JeY explained he may require assistance in portals to make it into another dimension so that he could find a friend of his…that wasn’t a friend anymore. Did he intend to apologize to them? Surely, there was a reason behind his wish to meet them again? Aiko permitted him to continue as she listened to what JeY was saying. She knew that she could travel between worlds. The times changed each time. Could it be possible for her to travel between dimensions?
When JeY had finished, it sounded like he was dismissing the idea. For one that appeared to be emotionless, he seemed to want to make it known to her that she didn’t have to help him if she felt that she couldn’t. Still, Aiko wanted to try. Maybe this was the reason why she was brought here? It seemed odd though for her to find herself here to help such a being like JeY. Regardless, she would do her job. She could, at the very least, try. However, she needed to know his motives for going to another dimension.
”You speak of this dimension...and wanting to go there…but what is your purpose for going there? Do you wish to apologize to this other dimensional friend of your’s or is it for revenge or of spite?”
It was a viable question. Depending on JeY’s response would decide whether or not Aiko tried to help him. ”I can try…I just need to know why you’ll be trying to reach this dimension.”
When he mentioned her mission, she just slowly shook her head. ”I believe I have already found it. Even if not, no harm in trying, right?”

Seems this girl was really curious now. So much so Aiko hinted at the fact that her mission could possibly be helping this chaotic man achieve what seemed to be an impossible goal of his. JeY was ultimately amused, and he would accept this girl's involvement since he predicted she was sure to agree once he revealed his motive was to apologize on his behalf of his corrupted counterpart. Granted, that would probably be impossible but he still wanted to try.
"My motives contain no malicious intent. I want him to be aware that my friend simply encountered a more twisted copy of me, that a being of my image is still dependable. Ultimately, I hope to seek forgiveness." He said. At this point, JeY had a bit of cognitive dissonance; his mind wandered toward his practiced tendency of 'how does this value me' pointing out that there's no gain, though part of this conflict originated from witnessing the loss of this particular friend twice over. This would be the only situation he would put any 'feelings' toward a particular matter over pure logic.
It's true that JeY had become a very cold individual since being trapped, losing his ability to express emotion and losing the very core of what made him human long ago in the past, but having so many interesting encounters upon escaping... slowly, his humanity has been returning. Wanting to week out this friend through an impossible feat would be his ultimate resolution. Should he manage to succeed, perhaps JeY would finally regain that part of him he lost when he gained his new power. "...Alright." JeY began to say once he made a decision. He would try.
Maybe there was a point to this all. "We'll go to my sanctum. There's plenty of energy in the air and it lies between dimensions; the instability will be useful for bridging the gap." JeY said, assuming the girl would agree to assist. JeY stood up, motioned for the girl to follow along, and walked toward his room on the first floor. Once the two were there, JeY would open a Chaos tunnel to his Plane of Shadowbeings, which when crossed Aiko would find herself in a land of a clear blue sky, no visible sun, and an endless uneven meadow of grass and erratic yet infrequent patterns of flowers.

Aiko sat there as she waited to hear what JeY's intentions were for going to a parallel timeline. According to him, he only wished to seek forgiveness and let his friend know that he could still be relied upon. Well, at least he didn't plan on doing anything evil. Aiko decided that she would help him.
"Also know that even if you cannot get forgiveness from that friend that you can give yourself forgiveness by knowing that you had tried."
Ultimately, JeY decided that they would try. As JeY got up after stating that they would go to his sanctum, Aiko got up and followed him as he gestured to her to follow. The pair of them made their way to the first floor where JeY's room would be. As they got there, JeY ripped open a tunnel. Glancing in it as JeY entered it first, she looked around uncertainly. Aiko was a being of pure light. Anything that could corrupt her could make her go insane. When that happened, look out. Not only that but the shell she was in right now would die and she'd have to start all over with a new mortal shell. It could take a long time to materialize for her to be able to return to the mortal realm.
As Aiko crossed into it, she blinked at the change of surroundings. Instead of what she thought would be darkness, she found herself in a strange field of flowers. For a split second, she had thought that she had been summoned back to the other plane but she hadn't. There was something about this place that she could just sense wasn't the other plane.
"Wow...what a place!"

Upon entering however, Aiko would feel unsettled, ultimately unwelcome on the ground she tread on. It wouldn't be inherit, but nature of this place rebelled against her existence in the only way it knew how: vague, subtle mental cues that could be easily dismissed as not real. Regardless, here they were. As for what to do next, well... JeY wasn't really sure. There was a bit of a pause between Aiko arriving and what he would say next.
"I'm always grateful of having access to this. Though, if I must be honest, I have little idea of what to pursue next--" he would say, being cut off by a sudden notable build-up of shadow energy nearby. Fuzzy jet-black particles flew about in the air and collected at a focal point, forming themselves into the translucent see-through figure of a silhouette. It glared at Aiko with beady red eyes. IT was hardly visible but certainly there. The spirit of JeY's old advisor had managed to materialized symbolizing the entire realm's revolt against Aiko's presence.
"What in the world is she doing here!?" it spoke, a raspy and deep voice that could chill a person right to the core. However, the shadow wasn't particularly a strong spirit and wasn't capable of much more than being barely visible and speaking. JeY took a step forward, as if he was coming to Aiko's defense. "My business is none of your concerns. I may bring whomever I want to my land," JeY replied in a cold, rebellious voice. He clearly wasn't happy with the materialization of his old advisor's spirit.
"A being a light? A representative of the kind we solely existed to destroy!? Have you no respect for our ideals?" the spirit spoke. JeY narrowed his eyes. "Respect for a people that sought to destroy me? Don't forget, I was once affiliated solely with light. Your kind still brought me here. To lead you, no less," he said. The spirit didn't seemed to be taken aback by his curt statement. "You were different. You were the result of our hard work," it said, cherry-picking an argument. JeY wouldn't let that slide.
"Would you respect a race that betrayed you in its entirety? You never know what you all really wanted and the decay of this world represents that. Be gone, I will have no more of your interference!" JeY roared, materializing one of his massive Zweihandlers, a sword almost as big of himself comprised entirely of light energy, and cut the specter in half, diagonally. It faded into the nothingness of which it originated. JeY had the sword vanish within a moment and turned back to Aiko rather slowly, then gently bowed his head before looking her back in the eyes.
"I sincerely apologize for the interruption. I was afraid something like that would happen... Sometimes even ghosts are haunted by spirits." He seemed a bit more lost than before - his level of emotional expression was always distant and lacking, however now he seemed to recede deeper into his own pain. In the end, he hoped the girl would remain willing to help out his selfish request. He would assure that such an interruption would not happen again.

The moment of awe that Aiko had felt suddenly melted away. As she stood there, the feeling of unease swept over her. It were as if something were telling her that she didn't belong here while JeY spoke to her. Blinking, Aiko looked all around her. From what she could tell, it was just herself and JeY out here in this dimension of his. Maybe it was the Chaotic energy that she was picking up on? Of course, she wasn't all powerful and could sense every little thing. However, there was something here that made her see that something was amiss. There was a vibe telling her that she wasn't welcome here.
Then, dark particles had formed and seemed to consolidate into one being. It wasn't anything strong entity wise. However, Aiko did look at it with raised brows. The red eyes that had manifested in the entity glared right at her. Yes, she clearly wasn't welcome here by the look of things. Was it a demon? Somehow, she didn't feel like it was. No, this was something else. As she stood there, the entity spoke. Aiko found herself rather surprised by this fact. After all, all she could see were the eyes. It didn't look capable of speaking. However, when it spoke, where it had glared at her it didn't direct what it was saying toward her. Instead, it was directed toward JeY.
Whilst Aiko stood there, perplexed but standing her ground, JeY conversed with the entity stating that he could bring whomever he wanted to. Judging by what was being said, JeY had once been solely affiliated with light and yet had been brought here by beings that were bent on destroying light. The reason why JeY was no longer associated with this entity was because of the fact that JeY felt betrayed by the race itself. JeY had enough of the entity and then proceeded to cleave it in two. When the entity went away, JeY returned his attention on Aiko. Aiko watched as he turned to her and then bowed.
"You have no need to apologize for what happened. Where a warning might have been in order, I was not afraid of that...whatever that was. I have encountered worse on my travels." She gave JeY a bow in return. "Is there a specific area that we need to go to in order to try what you want to?" Aiko questioned him. Where the area didn't feel dangerous, she didn't want to overstay her welcome and cause this world to somehow get riled up and figure out a means of getting rid of her if it could.
