Arin nodded, sheathing and picking Prythian up again, and sprinting toward the castle once more "Stick close! No telling when the big guy is gonna strike!" With the new soul fragment's help, Arin had an easier time making his way up the hill toward the keyblade master castle.
He could see the gates leading into the castle and thought that his luck might just get them out of this "We're almost out! Just a little bit-"
His hope was shattered as he and Prythian were crashed into by a large mass of darkness concealed body, only a pair of red eyes visible to the untrained eye. Arin was sent hurtling away from the door, while Prythian was mere feet from the entrance to the castle. The sudden impact forced his body to tumble until he landed on his back. Before he could get up, the large, shadowy creature was above him, and Arin used every ounce of magical power left in him to conjure his protective shield "Guard!"
A dome surrounded his body, but it was pierced in places by dark claw like protrusions, the claws reached far enough into the barrier that it began to dig into the flesh of Arin's chest, causing him to scream out in agony. Was this really it? Were the nightmares of his past really what were going to destroy him, and plunge him back into everlasting darkness?

The berserker grit his teeth and let out a wailing cry. It echoed through the area as he hunched over, the animal pelt he wore on his body seeming to attach itself to his skin. With a crazed look on his face, he charged at the monster, sword held at the ready. And then, he leaped through the air towards it, attempting to use his mighty strength to tackle it off of Arin. His sword danced in flashing patterns as he did so, a deadly dance of light and blade.

Arin could feel darkness being forced into his body by the claws, and his swords were slowly beginning to materialize, until There was only a fragment of his sword left, and it disappeared, along with the empty scabbard. With only one sword left, he knew that once that sword was gone, this creature had won.
But then an almost human-like animal cry echoed in the area, and he could feel the flow of darkness being cut off as the soul fragment forced the Dark Hunter off of his wounded body. He knew the soul fragment was giving him one final chance to exit this place, and he couldn't waste it/ Forcing himself to his feet he forced his body into a run, grabbed underneath Prythian's arms, and dragged him by his underarms through the slowly opening gateway, leading to the next joining point of the castle floors.
"…I can't…Can't take...another one...of these rooms…I need…to rest first…" He continued to drag Prythian's body until they made it to the bottom of the stairs leaking to the next floor, that was when he felt his body give out on him. His body slumped onto the white staircase, his body slowly becoming enveloped by a black coat ensemble, his clothes changing to jet black as well. The hood of his coat was pulled back to reveal only his head, but his appearance had slightly changed. His hair, which was once a sleek, golden hue, was now pitch black. And as his eyes slowly drifted between open and shut, his green irises had become as yellow as his hair once was, before closing completely.
"Just…A few…Minutes…" He was silent after this, unconscious after the ordeal that he had to endure from reliving his past. After a few minutes of resting, his body would be healed enough to continue, but the pain from the claws would still linger, and the cold, burning darkness inside of him was a painful reminder of what had happened. He now had only one sword left, but how much longer was that sword going to remain with him?

[OOC: Da da da da-daaa! Puppy power!]
A large wisp of white and gray appeared, like a large egg that expanded in size until it was roughly as big as your average human, to which wings appeared to have unfolded and burst into light particles shaped like feathers, fluttering for only moments before vanishing into the air, having fell straight down slightly due to the lack of wind. When the wisp faded, a girl with long blonde hair and radiant bluish/greenish eyes stood just to the side of a staircase along with two younger gentleman, one in rough shape and the other completely passed out on the ground. Just... what?
The girl looked down at the wind instrument in her hands, silently cursing its ways in her head and decided that she check on these two before she goes off exploring this... where even was she? Inside someone's house? It looked very pretty. It even seemed... just a little familiar to a certain degree. There's no way she'd recognize it though. Her instinct was that she didn't want to be here and that she should just play another song and try another random location, but if she could help even just a little bit before doing so then she would be inclined to do so.
Although, random appearances of young women who literally formed out of nowhere were normally a bit jarring, JessY desperately hoped she wouldn't get bombarded with the usual malarkey of questions and just once could it be considered plausible that she had very good teleportation skills. The truth is, she didn't, her instrument teleported her at will, and where she would go, no one could possibly guess. She missed having access to JeY's Chaos tunnels, but she would have to be truly desperate to call for his help again. Granted, she was smack dab in the middle of Castle Oblivion, a very unlikely place to teleport, even randomly, not that she would know of course.
Approaching the two boys, she cleared her throat and made her existence known. "Hi there! My uh... transporter thingy--" probably wasn't the best way to put things but it would have to do for now, to minimize possible questions, "seems to be malfunctioning, but while I'm here, what's uh... going on exactly? Can I be of any help?" she asked. Her 'transporter thingy' was most surely not malfunctioning but it would be the only explanation she would be willing to give whenever she ended up inside an actual building. From here, well... who knew what she was in for.

Prythian looked up from where he was, unable to do much. He made himself a promise right there. Don't ask about the 'transporter thingy' as long as she didn't necessarily ask about the countless cracks in his body or the holes or the rainbow light coming from them. "Yeah, I think you might be able to help." He said finally, gathering his strength. "Can you check to see if he's okay? I can't really... move at the moment. Not enough." He sighed. "And if you could stick with us... the next few memories we go through might be dangerous, so... your choice." His head sagged again, brief amount of strength exhausted.

Holy cow, these dudes were in rough shape. Their appearances didn't really scare her at all, she had been exposed to the wondrous possibilities of pretty much anything that could possibly occur ever, now actually being in a world where almost anything was possible on the grand scale she imagined, she wasn't about to question any appearance of whatever was happening on the account of 'there's an explanation for anything'. Still, she lacked any healing prowess, and while her first instinct was to contact someone who could do way more than she could, she resisted the urge. The less she had to see him the better.
JessY nodded toward the conscious boy, leaning over the one who was unconscious and listened for breathing while checking his pulse. It was faint, but there were certainly signs of life. Good, she wouldn't have to execute any of her CPR training on some random stranger. "He'll be okay. I don't have any real... healing capabilities, so you two are just gonna have to stick it however the way you would," she reassured the other boy, albeit with some bittersweet news. Hopefully the boy with cracks wasn't fatally wounded, but she was sure he would've spoke much different if that were the case. Especially since he asked her to stick with them. However, there was odd about that request.
"Also, did I hear you right? You two are going through... memories? May I ask?" she said, ignoring the part about danger. She was already well-equipped to take on perils, danger didn't really concern her (although maybe she was underestimating the situation as she tends to do) but the fact that they were going through memories really didn't make sense. She did actually end up in someone's head, and all of this was being imagined by them? That seemed impossible, but she would have to keep it open as a possibility. Of course, she would be able to recognize the terms 'Castle Oblivion', but until that detail was made obvious, she wouldn't be able to piece together her surroundings.

"I don't know what this place is called... but it brings memories back to life..." Prythian said softly. "At least, for normal people... it reacts a bit differently with me... due to what I am." He managed enough strength to shake his head a bit. "Don't ask about that... anyway, I'm looking for... a very specific bit of information. And I can only learn it... from the people we meet here, in these memories. He was... taking me through. You may have noticed... I'm not in any shape to even walk." Prythian gave her a wry grimace. "By the way... name's Prythian... yours?"

It seemed that speaking wasn't the easiest thing for this guy. Gosh, what did he go through to deserve this? What was she about to embark on that could do this to her? Well, she was confident in her own abilities to defend herself, she honestly had no clue what proficiency and strength these two had, but whatever they were going through it didn't seem to be enough. Perhaps a third by their side would be all they needed. One change in number could change the entire fight drastically. Well, considering they were able to get up and be fit for duty once again, if at all.
Being this banged up, it was unlikely they were going to be a full-strength party of three, and the girl would have to carry them through the majority of whatever was to follow. Though, based on the boy's description and her knowledge of this universe... it finally clicked where she was. How the actual fire truck did her ocarina take her to a place like this? The girl sighed at this realization. "Oh great, Castle Oblivion. Well, I'm not going to abandon you guys here, that's for sure. I'm JessY." Her voice became more distinct and refined, as if she became suddenly more proper and focused. A masculine sense of an 'edge' also showed in her facial expression. This was going to get serious.
JessY let out her hand, causing a small line of her Ability Energy to go toward the boy's right arm and formed a handle he could grab, and another branched out forming a sash of energy around his waist. The energy was semi-transparent and glowing with a rainbowy light energy, made mostly of a yellow hue with shadows of reds and greens as the secondary, not so much blue or purple however (it could be even argued that there was none). "Would it be painful to stand or walk? I can brace you upright without needing to use any of my own strength to support your weight, if all you lacked was the strength to stand." She tried to be helpful with this suggestion despite his comment about not being able to walk (which she assumed was based on merely using his own efforts), if people needed to go places she just simply had to cart them around. She had a plan for the unconscious one too.
She didn't pull on the energy she wrapped around him yet, and only would on his cue. She would simply shrink the line that connected her hand and the parts connected to him to act like a winch pulling him up. It would take zero effort on her part as the energy would do all of the work, and the sash would be able to stabilizing him and he could keep holding the handle until he got his balance. If he declined, she would simply dissipate the energy and ask what she could do to help then, feeling a bit lost in the situation where no one could walk but needed to move.

Prythian used what strength he could to grasp the energy. "No, it shouldn't be painful. I just... have no strength." He said, sighing. "Please, that... would probably help a lot. The stability of my body... is gone, as you may have noticed. So... there's very little strength I have to move." He sighed. "That said... I can't just leave him here. Is there a way you... can wake him up?" As if he wasn't asking her, and was asking something else... something else responded. Or, rather, it seemed like a seizure of some sort grabbed Prythian. Bursts of rainbow light burst from the cracks in his skin, and fountained outwards from the two holes in his body. His muscles tensed as he groaned...
...and out of the bursts of light, some of it fell down towards Arin, entering his body.
((There, Raph, now you have a deus ex machina to stabilize the aura and wake up. :V))

Lol, thanks Pryth)
Arin groaned softly as he felt some of the light from Prythian's body enter him, restoring a balance that still wasn't quite there yet. His eyes slowly opened to reveal yellow irises on black sclera, resembling a golden ring inside of a black void. His hair hadn't changed at all, but the light was enough to wake him from his near comatose state
"Nnnngh…Okay…That beast is officially part of my top ten least favorite memories…" His gaze shifted to look at a strange girl standing nearby himself and Prythian, who was surprisingly on his feet, but looked more like a puppet than standing willingly. Pushing himself to his feet, he reached for his sword "Who are y-gah!"
He was instantly cut off by a sudden pain in his chest, the claw marks in his body still remaining from the Heartless that had attacked him from the last floor. Clutching his chest while being forced to one knee from the pain, he looked up at the girl, his blackened gold eyes staring at her suspiciously "Should I even ask who this is, Prythian? Or is she a friend now?"
His attitude was a bit on the aggressive side, most likely because his body was emanating darkness at an almost uncontrollable rate, making him somewhat hostile as a dark aura emanated from the hand not clutching his chest.

[OOC: Sorry this took so long ^_^; ]
With ease, the girl managed to pull the strange, injured boy to his feet. He seemed to be able to stand with her support, and since it barely required any effort on her part, they would be able to move. Unfortunately, if she ever had to engage into combat she would have to set the boy down again in most scenarios. She could imagine some minimalistic strategies where she could keep the boy upright and fight, but it was not recommended. "There, nice and easy. Just hang on and you'll be fine! And, uh, I might have a plan for-- wait, what?"
She tried assuring the boy there was nothing to worry about, when suddenly light began to pour into the room. It seemed there was more to these two than what she could determine from the surface. She was about to express how she had a plan to carry him a similar fashion, but the light that suddenly burst into the room seem to bring him to a stir, having him regain consciousness and call out to the girl's presence. "Whoa there, definitely a friendly." Hopefully he wasn't a 'shoot first ask later' type of guy. It seemed whatever ailed his body was too apparent to really allow the boy to focus at all.
So distracted in fact, he had to address his friend about the girl's presence rather than the girl herself. Talk about rude. She narrowed her eyes, but wouldn't budge since she was knew they were in rough shape, but if he was going to get cranky and annoying she might just put him out of his misery. Well, if she were capable of something like that. She wasn't quite the killer her counterpart was. Not even close. "Are you okay to walk? I can support you like Prythian now, if need be. Oh, and the name's JessY," she tried to sound as friendly as possible, ignoring his sudden alarming aggression. Maybe it would wear off once he became appreciative of the girl's assistance.

Prythian slumped, held up almost entirely by JessY's energy. The light ceased to pour out of his skin, returning to a semi-stable state of merely being contained underneath his skin. "It's... okay. She's... gonna help us. If... we run into more problems... it'd be good to... have someone else around." His stamina had clearly been reduced by the sudden light-seizure he'd had. He tiredly lifted his head towards JessY. "Fair warning... my body... and soul... are not entirely stable... at the moment. I'm searching for... information here that might... help. I think... my time is short... now." His head slumped back downwards.

Arin was still wary of JessY's presence, but she didn't seem hostile…for now at least. Still, he had to hold onto his cautions. Forcing himself to his feet again, he waved off JessY's offer to support him "…I'll be fine…It's just a scratch…If you're really here to help, keep him safe until we can guarantee his body won't fall apart anymore…The worst of my past is over, we hold be moving into his memories again..."
Forcing himself to the stairs, he took every step the best that he could. But given his injured and unbalanced state, he was little worse for wear. It was clear he was being stubborn, for who's sake, however, remained unknown. "Let's get moving…The more time we waste in one place, the less time we have to make sure Prythian stays alive…" His voice was rough, as if struggling to speak from a hidden pain. The Dark Hunter had definitely done its job, he could feel his darkness trying to corrupt his heart again, now he had to fight his darkness until he could regain balance in his heart once more. If his memories served him well, it should be two floors from now.
He had to hurry, for his sake just as much as Prythian's now.

Upon seeing his condition and hearing the boy's reaction, JessY couldn't help but sigh. One of those stubborn macho types, then? Annoying, but workable. Having used to have been a guy, she knew exactly how this worked. Keeping the reins on Prythian, supporting him was no effort at all but walking around with another body braced to you is a bit awkward but she could manage. They would struggle up the stairs, to the point where Prythian would slump completely. "Don't make me drag you," she said, sounding concerned and as if she didn't actually want to drag him, like she was telling a dog not to pee on the rug as it was already doing it.
So much work. she would have to extend the brace down his legs, a slight wrap below the knees and plat a small insert for under his foot, making it so she could almost force him to walk. He would have to relax a bit and it would be very tricky to control but it could work. Maybe. It was worth a shot. "Don't give up yet, though!" she tried to stay positive, as these lug heads definitely weren't. She turned to the other boy, however. "So, we're just going through memories? How certain are you that we'll have to be fighting in the next part?" she asked, trying to get an idea so she could make plans. For now, the hard part: getting up these damn stairs!
[OOC: Hard to work with almost zero progress, especially since I have no idea where we're heading... move things along now yeah?]

As they moved up the stairs, Prythian pursed his lips. It was difficult to walk, yes, but with the support JessY was providing he could manage it, which was more than he could say ever since his Keyblade had been broken. "He's going through memories... I'm special, as I... mentioned before. For me... it lets me talk with... I suppose you'd call them... soul fragments. My soul... is made up of pieces... from other people... due to something that happened... long before I came into existence." He sighed.
This damned strength drain! He sounded completely idiotic with the constant gaps in his speech. "I need to talk to... one of the fragments in particular. But... there's another one that... tried to kill me last time... I came here. A fragment we talked to earlier... warned me to look out for him. So... it depends on which fragment... is next." He had no clue whether it would be the old man who created the sword which had eventually become him, or the young mage who had destroyed it.
Either way, as they reached the next floor, the large doors ahead were already glowing white as they reacted to Prythian's presence, attuning to him.
((When they go through the doors, they'll find themselves in a round room with strange things scattered about. An old man with white hair and black robes will seem to be meditating in the center, surrounded by a circle of strange symbols.))

Arin opened the door leading to the room, looking around until he laid eyes on an old man. He could tell just from a first glance, this wasn't one of his memories. Hopefully the next floor would give him what he needed, but right now he was more worried about what room this might be, given one of Prythian's souls was hostile towards him. "This the one who can help you…Or is this the one who wants you dead?"

[OOC: apologies for my wonky post schedule lately. Lot of stress with real life; etc etc hopefully the next time it's my turn it won't take a week and a half, but I won't abandon you guys that's for sure.]
They walked up slowly and carefully, as the girl had to adjust to moving herself and puppetting another live being in a similar fashion. Her energy was flexible, that's for sure, so whatever it took to get these guys moving she would be willing to partake for now. She liked to think that she wasn't here by accident, that there was some mysterious force guiding her 'random' placements whenever she played the ocarina. At least, if they were attacked again while neither of them were in any shape to fight, she was most certainly capable of defending them.
Finally getting through the door, even though JessY had no idea what to expect precisely, she was still raising her eyebrow. An old man seemed to be their next encounter, strange clutter everywhere... So this guy was made up of several souls? Some more hostile than others? The girl was inclined to believe that an older gentleman would be less inclined to inflict injury, so she hoped that her instincts were right on and that they found somewhere more peaceful to rest for a minute or even someone else who could actually help. JessY still had little idea what exactly was going on, so some educated insight would be nice.
Of course, she wouldn't be able to engage the man first, the hot-headed guy burst through and decided to make an initial ruckus. Well, so much for letting JessY ask the man for assistance. She didn't drop her guard quite yet, but she had to think of a way to drop Prythian quick without hurting him so she had access to all of her energy if he decided to attack. The question Arin brought up was more directed toward Prythian, so the girl would have to remain silent for now until a proper exchange happened. She wouldn't be shy to voice her input though if she had a thought she thought she would want to interject with.

The old man opened up his eyes. "'This' would be the one that created him, in a sense." He corrected Arin, his tone soft and gentle. "At least, the sword that eventually reincarnated in who we now call Prythian." His eyes turned to JessY. "Welcome, both of you. It is good to meet those who aid others with no promise of repayment. There are... so few that 'we'..." Here he gestured at Prythian, making it clear that the 'we' was him. "...have met."
He looked at Prythian. "I know what you're looking for. I don't have the name. Much like my own, it was lost to me upon my death. However, there is a strong chance that she herself still has it." Prythian had looked despairing at the first part, but perked up. "However, you will not reach her as things currently are. There aren't enough floors for you to reach so deep into your soul." Here he turned back to JessY and Arin. "If you two are willing... I know Prythian is... then I can perform a ritual to make sure Prythian gets to where he needs to go, as long as you continue through the floors. But I need your aid to do so."
He cleared his throat, and stood up slowly. "Do you, freely and willingly, offer your aid?" The question had all the sound of a formal exchange.

Arin listened to the old man speak, apparently he didn't have the means to give Prythian what he needed to return to full health again. But offered a ritual to give him enough time to reach the destination that he needed to find a 'name' of some sort. But it required the assistance of both himself, and the newcomer. Arin's darkness made him more of an aggressor, when his blood was pumping with adrenaline, but he remembered why he came here.
"Yeah, I'm in. If it'll keep him from dying too soon, I'll help out."

No fights yet, thank goodness. If JessY learned anything from cartoons it was that the old-looking dudes were honestly the deadliest and capable of ripping you apart with their bare hands before you even knew what was going on. but for now, they seemed ot have someone on their side. A ritual, some preparations, and a specific redirection... What was going on here, exactly? Of course she didn't expect repayment for any of this, she wasn't about to let these guys go without any help when she was perfectly capable of giving some.
"Question; you seem to contradict yourself. There are not enough floors, so you can redirect us where he needs to go, but we still need to go through the floors? I'm willing to help this guy but I'm no sucker. Be frank, how are you going to help us; or rather, him--" she began, gesturing to Prythian, "in terms of what needs to be done?" After she finished speaking, she met the man with a glare. There was a strange way he spoke, a very key inconsistency that made her wary. She was about two seconds from laying Prythian down and drawing her blades (from the same energy holding the boy), showing her own form of sincerity.
"I'm late to the party though, I may not have the precise details but I saw people in need of help so I'm not gonna turn that down. You're his creator, but that doesn't make you inherently good." Of course, this all could've easily been avoided if there wasn't so much concern from Prythian himself earlier. There's something out to kill him, even some things at this point it seemed, and JessY had zero context. If this man was straightforward she would've been perfectly fine, but his roundabout explanation and multiple self-contradictions... that just wasn't natural. Unless, he truly was a senile old man, but she doubted it.
