David had the idea that the horseman was the good king that was killed. " That would explain why the prince would be upset about him being around the castle," Zero said. If it truly was the good king, that meant one less person they had to worry about. He was still worried about the keyblader though. " There's still that keyblader," he said. " We don't know how much experience they have. Both you and Riley had your keyblades for only two years. For all we know they could be a master with many years under their belt."
Soon the city of the dead was in front of them. It was nearly completely destroyed. There were no tall towers or large buildings. The few buildings that were still standing were broken up. The streets were empty, and almost everything was covered in moss. There were signs that this place was once on fire, there were burn marks everywhere. There were piles of rubble around the place. The key must of been hidden somewhere in this city.

David glanced over at Zero as they neared the city. "True, but I've been training with swords since I was eight. I think I'll be alright if it comes down to a duel." The city itself was nearly gone, replaced by rubble and ruin as far as the eye could see. "Even Central, back home, didn't look this bad. This isn't an abandoned city. It's an old warzone."
The very air seemed heavy here, as if the world itself was holding its breath for what was to come. David muttered a quick prayer for the dead as the group entered the City of the Dead.
It was aptly named.

The only sign of life in the city were the sound of birds that were flying over the city. Soon the sun was setting, It was becoming night time again. When the sun was finally gone the moon shined on the city. The light from the full moon triggered something. There was the sound of ghost howling in the night sky. Ghosts started appearing in the city.
The ghosts were flying all about. Then something started shining. Out from a broken building a silver key started glowing. It was the next key to the sword! The moonlight started shining on the key, causing it to glow brighter. The ghosts started going towards the key. They started to form into something around the key. Soon the key was hidden inside them. They took the form of a golem, standing at nearly ten feet tall. It had heavy battle armor on and electricity started sparking around it. It turned blue and yellow, and a helmet formed on its head.
Elizabeth was in Riley's arms, growling at the golem. Riley went off and sat her down hidden behind a bush. " Elizabeth, daddy needs you to stay here," he told her. " Don't draw attention to yourself and don't move from this spot. Don't come out until I tell you too, ok?" She noded to him. Riley appeared back with the others, his keyblade in hand.

David searched the city for hours, hoping to find the key without a fight, but it wasn't anywhere to be found. As the sun was setting, he found himself meeting up with the others near one of the ruined buildings. He was on the verge of suggesting the group move on. Perhaps the prince had already gotten this one?
Then the moon rose, and all hell broke loose.
Now staring down the ten foot tall monstrosity, Shattered Sunset appeared in his hand nearly without conscious thought. David quickly summed up the thing's appearance. It seemed heavily armored, but probably not all that fast. With that in mind, he charged past it, about three feet from it's left foot. Right as he passed the foot he tapped the ground and launched a Crystal Genesis toward it. If the creature didn't move, both feet would be impaled by the spikes.

The others wer ready for the ghist golem. They all had their weapons out and were ready to follow up David's attack. The crystal genesis hit the golem in its legs, impaling both of them. The golem seemed nearly unaffected, only leaning to the left when it was hit. It was indeed, a wall that was hard to move. The golem didn't move other than that, it just stood there waiting for the next attack.
Zero was the first one to attack it next. It seemed like it was going to take a bigger attack to get this monster's attention. Zero charged his sword with lightning magic. Once it was completely covered in it he threw it at the golem. It was then the golem made its first move. It didn't move from where it was standing though. Instead it started spinning it's arms around like a windmill. Zero's sword went right through it, going pasted it. The sword then came back to Zero, hitting the golem again.
The golem had two scratches on it, but something was different about it. The lightning magic from Zero's attack was now going around th3 golem's body. It's arms were now spinning extremely fast, nearly causing a whirlwind. Soon it's arms stopped, now both them and it's body covered covered in a lightning aura. Then the golem disappeared, along with the spikes that were stuck in its leg.
The golem then appeared right in front of David. It swang one of its arms hopping to hit him dpright in the stomach. It then disappeared again. It was teleporting very fast for something that big. It then appeared above Zero, slamming both arms on top of his head before disappearing again. Next it hit Kai on his left side. Then it took Seamus by surprise from behind. Finally it nailed Riley right in his belly, throwing him into the remains of a building. When the golem landed back on the ground with a loud boom it stood still again. It was now making a hand motion, taunting them.

David barely had time to blink before the golem's fist struck. The next thing he knew, he was on the ground ten feet away with the wind knocked out of him. He struggled to get up, and finally succeeded after a few tense moments. He was fairly sure that he had bruised at least one rib, but nothing seemed to be broken. He'd have been paste if his armor wasn't imbued with Twilight.
David glanced at the others in horror as they were knocked around by the thing. In an instant, their entire group had been thrown around like rag dolls. His eyes flashed for a moment as he channeled into his keyblade, once more triggering his Lightblade ability. With a wordless roar, he charged straight for the creature, intending to strike its right knee with everything he had.

The golem did quite a number on them. David was the lucky one taking thr least amount of damage because of his armor. The others however weren't so lucky. Seamus was better off than most of the others, since he was the only one wearing armor besides David. His back was in pain, but he had felt worse before. He slowly got up, panting as he looked at the golem. " What the hell..... was that?" He asked himself. It seemed as soon as Zero hit him with that attack everything went down hill. Did the golem... us the lightning magic to boost its speed? If that was the case, they had to avoid lightning attacks at all cost. If something as powerful as the golem can boost its speed, it was not going to be a fun time. He saw David go at the golem, with a non elemental attack. This was good, they didn't know if it coukd boost its other stats with different elements. His shurikens reappeared in his hands. With the energy he had left he threw both of them at the golem. One of them was going for its right arm, the other its left.
Zero wasn't as lucky as Seamus was. He took a hit from both arms right on top of his head. He slowly pushed his face off the ground, looking up. He saw that everyone else had took some damage from that monster. This wasn't good, if things kept going like this, they were in trouble. Before that very effective counterattack the golem made Zero did notice something. It had a lightning aura around it before it started teleporting. Was it able to use different elements to help it? Zero felt his head, his hand was covered in blood. He was too drained to think of a plan right now. For now he just watched Seamus and David attack thr golem while casting curaga on himself.
Kai was a little bit better off than Zero, but not by much. The golem had knocked him into a pile of rubble. He was now stuck under it, weakly pushing some rubble off of him. If he could just get free, he could summon his dragon. At the rate this battle was going they were gonna need all the help you can get. He was making some progress, but it would be some time before he got free.
Riley took the biggest blow of all. He was hit right in his exposed belly. He was knocked into a broken building, into pointed stones. He had a pointed stone coming out of his bleeding belly, he was stuck. He was losing a lot of energy fast. He used what little energy he had to put his hands on the walls, and push himself off the wall, falling to the ground. His vision was blurry, but he could make out what was going on.
The golem stood there as David had cut its knee. It tried to swing at him but it was too slow to even come near to hitting him. Clearly it had used up all the lightning magical in its first attack. Seamus' shurikens struck its arms, making deep cuts in both of them. Both shurikens landed in the ground in front of the golem. The golem nearly lost its balance, being cut in the knee. Slowly the golem turned around to where Seamus and David were. It slowly brought its arms back, then it clapped really loud. It created a sonic clap that was heading for both of them.

David saw the sonic clap coming and did the only thing he could against it. He jumped between Seamus and the golem to block it. The force knocked him back again, but he managed to deflect the wave into the sky and away from Seamus. Getting up allowed him time to check on everyone else, and it didn't look good. At this point, he didn't have a choice but to use IT. "Seamus, get the others and move back a bit. Heal up once you do."
David took a few steps toward the golem, then stopped and started drawing in huge amounts Light and Darkness from the surrounding area. A violently swirling purple, white, and black mass of energy began to form around him, until he was completely hidden from view. A moment later, David's voice rang out from within the maelstrom. "Elemental Aspect!" Suddenly the energy dissipated, revealing his new form.
David's blonde hair was now purple, and had grown to waist length. The whites of his eyes were now black, while the irises were the purest white. Shattered Sunset was nowhere to be found, replaced by a blade crafted from pure Twilight. His voice rang out with an otherworldly power as he named his new form, "Aspect of Duality!" Raw power radiated from him at levels six times greater than his normal form, and his very aura now contained traces of a God-like energy. In all meanings of the word, he had ascended.
David charged forward far faster than a mortal eye could see, slashing at the beast's left arm with enough force to reduce a building to dust. He stopped again on the opposite side, standing atop the rubble of a destroyed building. With a smirk, he repeated the golem's earlier hand gesture.

Seamus put his shurikens in front of him, bracing for the impact of tne sonic clap. There was no need, David got in between them and blocked it. David then told him to get the others and heal up. By the sound of his voice Seamus knew he had a plan. He remembered David saying something a while back about not wanting to use a move the heartless could copy. There was no doubt in his mind he was about to use that move.
Seamus did not fight, David was better off then the rest of them. " Ok, just try not tomuse elemental attacks," he said. " We don't want what happened with tne lightning to happen again." His shurikens disappeared as he went off to get the others. He helped Zero up onto his feet. He helped him over to were Kai was still trying to get free. He set Zero up against the rubble. " David's got a plan. He told us to be at a safe distance and heal up. I have a feeling he won't need us."
Seamus then went to go get Riley. He picked him up off the ground and carried him over to the others. Tiley was in pretty bad shape, even when compared to everyone else. Seamus placed him against the wall as Kai got his arms free. Kai held his arm up and casted curaga. Everyone was healed, but still hurt. Riley's wound was now no longer bleeding, and neither was Zero's head.
Seamus started helping Kai move the rubble. He looked to where David was just in time to see him transform. " So that's what he didn't want copyed," he said. When David slashed the left arm it exploded into dust. The spirits that made it up vanished. Part of the golem's body was also blasted off. Little chips of it started to fall off where it was hit. The beast turned around to see David copy its taunt. It started cranking its one arm up like before. It was covered in a fire aura. The golem then charged at David with its arm ready to swing in what would be the final clash.

David could tell that the golem was almost beaten, but still was going to take no chances. As the beast charged, he held his ground until the last possible moment. Once again, he vanished from view as he moved at a blinding speed to the right of the lumbering creature and lashed out with his energy blade at the shoulder of its remaining arm. Immediately after he jumped high into the air and came down blade first, cutting the golem cleanly in half from head to hips.
As the beast vanished, David reached into its torso and retrieved the silver key. He started walking back to the others as he was briefly covered by a purple mist. When the mist dissipated he had reverted to his normal appearance, but every wound on his body was gone, healed by his Dawn's Grace ability as he left the Aspect. "Is everyone else alright over here? We should probably get back to the forest and rest for a little while till everyone can be fully healed."

When the golem swung David was nowhere to be seen. It turned around but it was far too late. When it tur ed around David slashed it's shoulder and then disappeared again. He cit the thing in half, right before getting the foirth key. When the golem was cut in half it started glowing with a white light. The light kept getting brighter until the golem exploded. When the light faded, there was no trace of the beast. The spirits that made up the golem vanished just like before. With the golem gone, the night was silent once more.
When David came back to the others they were doing much better, but still needed some time to recover. Seamus had finally freed Kai and Riley was able to stand again. When David suggested that they take refuge back in the forest while they heal they all agreed. " That is the best thing to do," Zero said. " While we're resting we could probably come up with a plan for the tower of chaos, since it is next."
They all started going back into the forest until Riley stopped. " Elizabeth!" He called out. Elizabeth came out of the bush she was in and came to Riley. She got back up on nis shoulders. They started walking again. They stopped when they found a nice spot under a tree for them all to rest. Riley put Elizabeth down and sat under the tree. She sat next to his side. Riley was still slowly recovering from the blow he took from the golem.
" That golem was worst then the dragon warrior," Seamus said. " These guardians just keep getting worse and worse."
" Don't worry Seamus," Kai said. " There's onky two more keys left. We'll get through this."
" What we need to worry about is the tower of chaos," Zero said. " From the very name of it I can tell it won't be fun. Plus with the amount of time we wasted trying to look for that key the Knights might have figured out we're not dead. The prince could be on his way to one of thise last two keys. He almost got his hands on the last one if Riley didn't come up with that plan."

David sat against another nearby tree as the others slowly regained their energy. He had been really worried about them, especially Riley, during the fight. If he had hit the rock just a little higher... David really didn't want to think about it. And it seemed like the fights were only getting harder and harder. He sighed and rested his head against the rough bark.
"I'm not gonna be able to do that again for at least another two hours, so we've got two choices. We can rest up here until we are completely healed, I think about an hour would do it, or heal one more time right now and get going. We have four of the keys, so I doubt anything is going to happen without us knowing about it." He sighed again and looked at the rest of the group. "I doubt the prince is anywhere near the other two keys right now. It took us most of the day to get to the castle right? It's only been a few hours since we left, and the prince hadn't gotten there yet. I'd wager we still have at least three hours before he can get to another key."

It seemed that they had two options. They could either rest here for a while or they could heal once more before setting off again. David had a good point, it would be quite some time before the prince would be anywhere near the other keys. Judging by the amount of damage they took, it would be better for them to heal completely before going. " Let's stay here and rest up," Zero said. " We'll want to be fully healed when we get into that tower. Besides it looks like Riley still needs more time, and Elizabeth seems like she knows something about the prince. Maybe she knows just what we're up against, maube something about that other keyblader too."
Riley was doing better, but he was still slowly recovering. He flet where the stone had went through him. There was now mark where he was impaled. He then looked at his daughter, who was curled up and sleeping like a cat next to him. He remembered her saying he was the only one still alive they took dna from. He looked at her horns and tail, just who else or what else did they take dna from? He felt like there was a lot she wasn't telling them. He looked at her side and noticed something, there was a large scar along her side. It looked like it from from some sort of blade. She also had many differnet scars and marks all over her body.

David nodded and settled back against the tree in a more comfortable position. Well, he tried anyhow. His armor was making it difficult to do much of anything. He grumbled for a moment, then started taking it off piece by piece.
He had nothing on his feet, but underneath the rest was revealed to be a maroon T-shirt and dark blue jeans with a black leather belt. The belt's buckle was a silver and onyx yin yang symbol, as was the pendant on the silver necklace he wore. Both shirt and jeans were soaked with sweat. He sighed as a light breeze cooled his now exposed body. "Man that stuff gets hot sometimes. At least it doesn't weigh much since I infused it."
He glanced over at Riley and Elizabeth as Zero mentioned them. A small smile appeared when his gaze fell on the sleeping child, seemingly innocent and pure. "I'd let her sleep for a little while. We can always ask her about all that when we're moving. By the way..." He turned his head to look at each person for a short while. "We don't really know all that much about each other, do we? We should trade introductions."
He jerked his thumb at himself. "I'm David Talec, but most people know me as Mizan. I'm 23, and have lived on Radiant Garden since my home world, Celderat, fell to the Heartless 2 years ago."

David had a very good point. It was better for them to ask Elizabeth later, she would be wide awake then. Plus maybe she would warm up to them and not just trust Riley. They couldn't blame her, she was tortured and Rikey was the only one she knew. It was then David said they didn't kniw that much about each other. After David went it was Zero's turn. " Well the four of us all came from the same world," he said. " And we grew up together for the most part. My name is Zero Iuyo, I'm sixteen and was born on Yuio like the others. I grew up learning that a true hero protects those in need and never turns their back on them. You see I come from a family of heroes. I met Kai one day and then I met Seamus then finally Riley. After our home world was destroyed by Ren we all got separated from each other. But we're all here now."
Kai laughed a bit. It was nice they could take a break from all the work they had been doing. " Kai Shien, seventeen," he said. " We all grew up doing times of nonstop war on Yuio. You see the dictator there had heartless destroy nearly everything. That's why we were all trained to fight at a young age. Had things be different we wouldn't have the abilities we have now. Especially Seamus here."
Seamus sighed. He'd hate to admit it but what Kai said was true. If it wasn't for the dictator he wouldn't have any of the abilities he had. He wouldn't have the great amount of darkness inside him. " The names Cray, Seamus Cray fifteen. What Kai says is true for me. You see when the dictator was in power people were captured and taken in for experiments. I was one of those people. I was filled with a great amount of darkness and other abilities. That's why I have my dark form. At first I was ashamed of what I did with my darkness, but then Riley here taught me that just because you use darkness doesn't mean you can't be good. I've known Riley the longest and we've been on the most adventures together."
Rileyrubbed Elizabeth's horn as he listened to what everyone was saying. After Seamus was done he was the only one left. " Riley O'Malley, fifteen. My village was invaded by heartless. My mother and father died and me and Ren were the only ones left. That's when my master took me in, after a while we couldn't find Ren so we thought he was dead. After many adventures we came back to Yuio and I fell in love with my first wife Maple. She is an elf that loves fighting and killing gaint monsters. She may be small but she has great power. After a battle one day I lost my memory. I somehow ended up in a forgotten part of Yuio. That's where I met my second wife Winda. She is a fllow Gale. After I saved her from the dictator's son we got married. Soon after that my master and first wife found me and I got my memory back. That's how I ended up with two wives. After tne first battle with Ren our world was destroyed. I still haven't been able to find my wives and master though. But I kniw they're still out there."

David cracked a grin as he listened to the others tell their stories. "Well, aren't we just a little band of misfits then. I was considered odd from birth, since I was what we call a 'Duality'. Everyone on Celderat was born with the ability to control an element, but I was born with two, Light and Darkness. The element is linked to our life force, so if we run out, we die. Naturally, since Light and Darkness cancel each other out, most of my concentration every day was spent keeping them apart so I didn't die. Most Dualities die before their 10th birthday, and I'm actually the first ever achieve Aspect." He shut his eyes as the memories started coming back.
"To be considered an adult in our society, you had to be able to control your element to the point that you could Ascend, like I did earlier. Most Celderatians can do it by 18, after four years of training. My sister did it at 17, and she was considered quite talented. I couldn't even start the usual training until I was 17 and was taught how to use Chi energy by an off-worlder. Now I'm considered a prodigy since I achieved Aspect only two years later." He chuckled softly, but there was a bitterness to the tone. "Too bad the world fell about six months later."

As David explained a bit about his past life and his home world Zero couldn't help but notice their worlds were very different. " Wow that's nothing like Yuio was," he said. " You see there were many different races on Yuio. Yuioans, like me and Kai, humans, Gales, like Seamus and Riley, elves, dragons, goddesses, and many differnt others. They all mostly lived with their own races but there was a lot mixed race breeding on Yuio. As you can see you are considered an adult at a much younger age than most worlds, as you can tell by Riley already being married." He gave Riley a funny look and Riley just laughed a little. " Most of the races lived for a very long time, but no one besides humans ever aged in appearance really. There was a lot of magic in our world, mostly elemental magic. The most powerful was chaos, which is similar to twilight. Riley here a prodigy because he was one of the few people who could use chaos."
" It's because of my master," Riley said. It was somewhat true. Riley didn't know it but it was mostly because his mother was a chaos goddess, who happened to be his master in disguise. " She was already a legend through out all of Yuio ans many different worlds. If she never took me in I wouldn't be abke to use chaos. I wouldn't even be here right now. Well David at keast your world wasn't destroyed a week after you got married, a second time..." Elizabeth started to wake up. Riley got uo and stretched before picking her up. He was feeling a lot better. " I think it's about time we got going."

David nodded as Zero explained Yuio's history. He was used to other worlds being quite different from his. The only world that was somewhat close that he knew of was the Land of Dragons, which resembled Celderat before the Council was formed. Not many clan based societies ended up becoming republics, as far as he could tell. As the others stood and stretched, he quickly got back into his armor, the speed and ease showing just how many times he had done so in the past. "True, but it was only a month after I was invited to join the ruling council of my world, and it was on my birthday." His voice grew softer as he remembered what else happened that day. "And at least you didn't see your parents getting killed by the Heartless just before it happened."
David was silent for a moment as he revisited the old grief, then shook his head with a sigh. There wasn't anything he could do to change the past, he could only try his best to ensure a better future for everyone. That was why he had his keyblade after all. The fragments of crystal represented his former hopes and dreams shattered, then reforged into his current goals. He glanced around at the others before shaking his head again. "Sorry, I actually didn't mean to say that. Just like my keyblade shows, I have to take the fragments of my past and forge them into a new future. It just gets... difficult sometimes, especially when I'm away from Jennifer for a long time. She and Jason are the only other survivors from our world, the only links to my past that still exist. I usually try to be strong around them, since I know how much it hurt them too, so I tend to bury it deep and forget about it."

After David stated his world was destroyed on his birthday and he watched his parents die the same day, Riley couldn't help but be sorry for him. " I'm sorry, I had no idea." He said. Then David explained that he tried to stay strong around his sister and Jason, he knew what that was like. " I know how that feels. I have tomstay strong around my wives, around everyone. I used to blame myself for our world being destroyed, I felt like I wasn't strong enough to stop Ren, to protect those I loved. But after my past few adventures, I now know I'm not the only one fighting. I fight for my wives and my friends just as they fight for me. Heck now I have a daughter to fight for, and I know when she gets older she'll do the same." Elizabeth smiled at him as he rubbed one of her horns.
Zero smiled at everyone. " Well one things for sure," he said. " All of us have been through a lot, even Elizabeth here. We all know that we learn from the past, so we don't repeat the same mistakes in the future. If anything failures just make us stronger, maybe even more than success. Maybe that's why we all ended up in this world, because it needed people who have been through what we have. People that know what it's like to lose, just as this world is losing itself. We all learned to move on and keep fighting, so we will keep fighting for this world."

David smiled again as Riley and Zero's words comforted him a little. "Thanks guys. As we used to say on my world, 'though the circumstance differs, the emotion remains constant.' While what happened to me was really bad, I'm sure you all felt the same about your events." The light in his eyes returned little by little as he spoke. "As for why we're here, Zero's right. We already know what it's like to lose everything, so we're going to fight that much harder to keep it from happening to someone else."
By this point his determination was overflowing once more, and his eyes literally glowed to reflect it. "This world is on the brink of destruction, but when has that stopped us? It certainly didn't stop me, and I've lived better knowing just how precious each moment can be. Let's go show these people what that means."
