OOC: Apologies for the wait. Muse has been a b****.
IC:
I never thought about retiring anytime soon. But I guess one day I'll have to. Everyone reaches a point where they slow down. When I reach that point I think there will be someone else who will be able to take my place. I don't think I'll hang onto my keyblade until I'm sure there's no need for it anymore, and when I do I will be with those I love. As for training other keybladers I think if someone else comes along planning to use kingdom hearts I guess I'll have to. If they want me to I will.
Kenji nodded as he listened to Sora's words. Indeed, it seems rather far in the future, so of course Sora didn't have any definite plans yet. Fair enough. Kenji knew what he wanted to retire to and what he wanted to do now... but his problem was in the middle: The fulfillment of his goals and his ideals. He had come up with so many ways to do so. First it was fighting by himself as a hero to the innocents, upholding justice. Then he created Yami, an organization of like-minded individuals to help enforce it. And finally, this empire. Justice and protection was always a fleeting thing, and he had to protect it however he could.
So far, the success of his goals were debatable. Very debatable.
"That's reasonable enough," Kenji said. He fell silent and looked outside through the windows. He pondered his retired life. He always imagined himself with his wife and children, far away from the insanity, from the war, and especially from the ideals that he once so cherished highly that had turned into his ball and chain. He would live somewhere quiet and somewhat isolated, resuming his pursuit of knowledge, of magic that he had discovered and was developing. He did not care for luxury nor war nor fame. He had enough of that for a lifetime. He just wanted to go to a simple life and discard all of... this. Of course, that wasn't happening anytime soon.
