Amaya and Peter looked into the cave's interior. It was gloomy, as per usual in any cavern. Cautiously, the pair of them stepped further into Skull Rock. Where was Tiger Lily? Also, what else might be guarding her other than those torrential winds that whipped about outside? Why did Reiko, if she cared to keep her alive, bother to keep her alive anyway? Many questions whirred through Amaya's head, as she was sure must have been running through the other youth's mind before they finally came out to where the rock really opened up.
At the center, below, they were on some rock outcropping that enabled them to see the cavern floor below. There was water inside here. Amaya wasn't surprised given the fact that the rock was located right in the midst of the sea and hadn't been that far for the water to not creep into it now and then.
There was a lone figure that just simply lay there. Reiko, it seemed, didn't care to add any type of guards to watch over the seemingly unconscious or dead Tiger Lily. Peter, without looking at Amaya, had already flew down to where the Indian Princess was. Amaya furrowed her brow, shaking her head at the kid's recklessness. She checked for anything, since Rieko was good at hiding things in plain sight. Nothing seemed to be happening so despite Peter's recklessness, it looked safe. Amaya, too, flew downward.
"We should get her out of here." Peter nodded as he lifted Tiger Lily up. The two flew out of the cavern and fought their way up through the center of the twisting winds.
Reiko, meanwhile, was focused on Arin. She would have gotten him if he hadn't used her own ability against her. Having charged for him, like an idiot, the twisters she had used before had hit her. Reiko grunted as she was sent flying a few feet. When she recovered, Arin had taken flight. It wasn't over though. Reiko gritted her teeth. Inside, the real one was reeling from all the pain and stupidity. The dark entity that controlled her wasn't as bright when it came to fighting. The real Reiko wouldn't have fallen for such a thing. On top of it, Reiko didn't want to die but it looked like that would be the only way for her to get out of this situation. The thing had too good of a grip on her. She sensed something though. Maybe the end was coming faster than she hoped?
The mind controlled Reiko, as soon as she had recovered, took flight to give chase. She didn't sense what the real Reiko did, however.

As Reiko took flight, an Armored Knight Heartless leapt up and, using its Rising Star ability, stabbed Reiko in the root of her wing, forcing her to plummet to the ground. As she rose to her feet, the Heartless leapt off of her and joined ranks with a Samurai Nobody, and a man resembling Arin, and all too familiar to Reiko with his white and black clothes and the bandage over his glowing yellow eyes. The voice, while sounding like that of Arin's, was also as familiar to Reiko as it was emotionless.
"...Trying to kill my prey?...I should have killed you when I first met you...You broken piece of trash..."
Nirax summoned his keyblade to his hand, splitting it in half and wielding the two halves in a casual fashion, almost apathetically. He looked over as he watched Arin flying away, becoming no more than a spec in the distance.
*His heart is still not yet ready to confront me...No matter...His time will come eventually, it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens...*
He slowly began to advance, the Heartless and Nobody following close behind as he gradually closed the distance between himself, and the gray armored female.
"...This time...I'm going to finish what we started in Hollow Bastion...I won't let you get away this time..."

Eventually, Amaya and Peter had made it out of the cyclone and back to where the Raccoon boys were waiting. Peter hovered a few feet over the ground whilst Amaya simply landed. "We found her. Let's get back to the Hideout." Amaya looked around uncertainly.
"You go on ahead, I've got to find Arin and make sure that he's alright." Peter nodded and headed off with the two Lost Boys. Amaya set off in search for Arin.
Reiko didn't expect an attack to come from out of nowhere. Her attention had been so focused on Arin's fleeting form that she hadn't seen the other's arrival or even noticed it. As a result, the attack took her by surprise and she ended up crash landing on the ground in a heap. When she recovered, she heard a familiar voice. It was that thing again.
Nirax was advancing toward her along with his minion. He was stating that he wasn't going to let her get away this time and that he was going to finish what had been started in Hollow Bastion. "It took you this long to reach us here? You are mighty slow."
Reiko got back to her feet, getting into a battle ready stance, ready to battle.

The armored knight and the samurai both began to space themselves from Nirax, starting to circle around Reiko from different sides. Nirax was the only one who kept his original path, completely dismissing Reiko's jab at how long it took for him to find the same world Arin was in.
To further prove he wasn't interested in responding to her mind games and stabs at egos, he threw half of his keyblade at Reiko's neck, merely replaying the tactics he used beforehand, but studying his opponent to see exactly what to do. His next strike was aimed at an arm.

Amaya took to flight, searching for Arin as she went. She wasn't sure why but she got a suddenly bad feeling. Her thoughts had instantly gone to Arin and how he was doing. She hoped that she wasn't about to find him dead somewhere. Reiko, she knew, wasn't dead yet since those winds hadn't stopped.
Reiko could see that Nirax wasn't playing around. He didn't care for anything that she had said. Those jabs didn't even seem to phase him. Instead, he just kept advancing toward her. His minions circled her as he approached.
Without hesitation, Nirax threw his keyblade half at her neck. It was a tactic he had tried once before but Reiko was expecting this. She had experienced it when they first met. She brought up her blade to parry it this time. His next strike got her arm. A limb was severed, making Reiko reel backward. In retaliation, she sent a blade spinning through the air toward Nirax.

Nirax watched Reiko's arm become severed after the first blade was parried, the corrupted woman was able to learn and expect tactics at least. Clearly this one was a fighter that took action with strategy and planning, rather than instinct and reflexes, like most fighters were like. She also didn't seem to take well to losing body parts. When Reiko threw her blade at him, Nirax simply parried it like it was nothing, continuing to advance on her slowly, methodically, like a lion preparing to go for the throat of its prey.
"...You look tense...Is this the first time someone's actually caused physical pain to you?"
The samurai drew its blades, while the armored knight leapt up and began to prepare its jump rush aerial attack, diving forward at Reiko from behind and aiming its bladed arm at her back. The samurai then began to slowly align its body to attack with its Zantetsukan strike, ready to immediately attack Reiko should the armored knight be repelled or dodged.

Amaya searched for Arin, flying around, unable to find him. Up ahead, she was sure the village was but she dreaded to go there. What would she do if she found Arin dead? No, he couldn't be dead. She would know if he was dead...right? Despite this thought, she still worried that something had happened to him and she circled around the Indian village to try and find Arin.
Reiko didn't like the loss of a limb. That had hurt immensely. Even now, her face had paled. Where she was possessed by an entity, it could heal wounds but not...really prevent severance. It was the head that cut all power though from whatever controlled her if it were cut off. Did Nirax know this? It didn't matter. He'd likely be intending to do such a thing anyway given the way he was acting.
What he said to her next made Reiko furrow her brows at him. "Hmph! You wish!" she stated. Using her illusions, Reiko narrowly avoided getting attacked in the air as she stepped to the side and blended in with her surroundings. She had to clutch her injured arm to prevent the blood from dripping so that she could remain undetected.
She would try to come up from behind Nirax to slice at his turned back.

Nirax watched as Reiko used her illusions to blend in with her surroundings. His lip twitched slightly in response, typical of a strategic fighter to use tricks to gain the upper hand in a fight. Nirax simply willed the knight and samurai to scan the perimeter, both looking in directions that would give hints to Reiko's location should one react.
But neither one was quick enough to react in time for Reiko's sneak attack, Nirax staggering forward without a word as her blade managed to hit its mark, black blood-like ooze seeping from the wound. Reiko was sure to feel some confidence in this...Until Nirax slowly stood upright again, and spinning to swing with his keyblade as swiftly as if she hadn't hit him at all. The black half of his blade aimed for her stomach, the gold half poised to impale Reiko directly in the heart as he made a thrusting stab at her chest.

Reiko, at first, thought she had done some damage when she had managed to land a hit on Nirax from behind. The dark liquid that had escaped him looked very much like blood or what was, at least, what had to be blood for such a creature.
Of course, she had expected that Nirax would be wounded at this point making it harder on the fellow creature of darkness...but she was wrong. Instead of being slowed down, Nirax simply stood upright again as if there hadn't been any attack. Without warning, he spun around swinging his keyblade weapon. He moved so fast that it were as if there hadn't been any injury. It, admittedly, caught Reiko off guard as her eyes widened. Leaping back, she narrowly avoided her body getting cut in half if it had been that strong of an attack. Instead, it grazed her stomach, drawing blood for a short moment before that cloudy, dark stuff appeared and sealed her injury again. It did so with the severed hand she had. Where she now had a stub where that hand had been, she was still able to fight without it.
However, she knew that if things kept up like this, fighting in her current state wouldn't be wise if it went on for much longer. Thus, she blended back into her surroundings, dodging the creatures Nirax controlled. This time, she made several copies of herself that took form in front of him all around. Which one was the real Reiko? A good question as they all dived at him and his creatures at once. Only one was the real Reiko but was it one of the three near Nirax or was it one of the ones after his minions?
Meanwhile, Amaya continued to look for Arin. She hadn't been able to find him and shouting didn't seem like a wise idea. She was worried about him and began to near the village more, trying hard to see if she might be able to catch a glimpse at what might be happening within.

Nirax narrowed his eyes when Reiko once again dove into the woods. Nirax simply called his creations to him, which obediently leapt to his side, forcing all of the Reikos to converge on him. When they all drew close enough, he dispelled the Heartless and the Nobody as his body started to emit small heat waves.
"...Burn..."
Just as all of the Reikos were about to strike, Nirax erupted in a large radial explosion of black fire, the intense heat of the flames extending outward at a great distance, and hitting anything near him when the eruption happened. The eruption of flame dispelled all of the illusions, leaving only one left, Reiko. And that was when he went on the offensive, charging at Reiko and aiming for her legs, to keep the girl grounded and in one place.
"...Pathetic...Using illusions and cowardly tactics to win a battle...At least my prey runs away until he is ready to face me head on..."

As Amaya neared the village, she was finally able to see what was happening within the center. There, she could see the familiar glint of Reiko's armor. What she saw, Amaya had never seen before. It looked like Arin but something was very different. It didn't seem like Arin yet it looked like him. Had something happened while she had been away? Before she could get closer though, she felt suddenly like she needed to stop.
As Amaya had done so, there was a massive blast of energy. Dark flames had suddenly erupted from the center of the village blowing away all of the village. Anything that had been lucky enough to be left still standing was immediately engulfed in flames and eaten away by them.
Amaya couldn't believe her luck, having fallen when she had abruptly stopped herself. The explosion hadn't reached her fully so all she got was a knock back that had caused her to fall out of the air and land on her rear. Wincing a bit, Amaya pushed herself up to look at the now destroyed village. Only one thought came to mind amidst all the destruction, what became of Arin? She had thought she had seen him. She wasn't aware that it was actually Nirax she had seen and not Arin as she rushed in.
"Arin!"
Reiko, whom had been closer at the time, realized Nirax's ploy a little too late and before long, got the full brunt of the blast. It had knocked her down, her armor smoking from the flames. A portion of her where the armor didn't protect had gotten burnt and then her legs were injured as well. All Reiko could do now was wince in pain. Well, indirectly, it seemed like the job Amaya and Arin came here to do would get done by the hand of someone else. Hopefully, Nirax knew enough to cut the head off and didn't leave Reiko there.

Nirax advanced as Reiko was defenseless. Brandishing both halves of his keyblade before fusing them together again and towering over the injured dragoon warrior. He knew he had won, he didn't need to brag about it, and he was going to make sure that Reiko stayed dead this time.
Noticing a very faint scar around Reiko's neck, Nirax remembered how she could heal any wound on her body. But looking at her arm, he noticed that she couldn't grow back limbs. So then, that was what needed to be done.
*...A medieval method of exterminating the possessed...But it will do...Still, best to make sure she doesn't try anything...*
He poised his arm to strike, aiming his swing for a decapitation, but what Reiko didn't see coming was that an armored knight and Samurai were both behind her, and had pinned her body down in a beheading position with their blades, unable to break free and at Nirax's nonexistent mercy.
"...Whatever it is you are, dark creature, understand this...The next time you try to kill those whom I have chosen to destroy personally, I will eliminate any opposition of your possessed hosts...This one is no exception...Stay in the darkness, where you belong..."
Nirax brought his keyblade down like an axe, and lopped Reiko's head right off of her shoulders, letting it roll away without even bothering to chase after it to return it to her body for burial. With nothing but a lifeless body left, the Samurai and Armored Knight removed their blades and let Reiko's corpse fall to the ground with a thud.
Then, Nirax could hear footsteps running hastily towards him, and he turned to face Amaya as she rushed over to him, his pale yellow eyes glowing brightly past the black bandage covering his slightly paler face, giving the appearance of a Shadow's eyes. He didn't hear what she had said before, but given this one also had dragoon armor on, he figured she was just as corrupt as the one he had just disposed of. Nirax aimed his keyblade at Amaya, his facial expressions hard to determine given his emotionless nature
"...Come to continue this fight with another of your puppets, dark creature?..."
Nirax's vice was identical in pitch and tone to Arin's, but Amaya could clearly tell by the emotionlessness, that this couldn't be Arin. And if this was Arin, something strange had happened to him in the very short time that they had been separated.

Reiko couldn't do anything at this point, her puppeteer knew of this and even the real Reiko knew this. So, this was the end for her. As the dark creature controlled every motion of her body, Reiko could do nothing but look on to the outside world from within the depths of her own head. A prisoner that could do nothing but watch as she was about to be killed off. Honestly, she didn't think there would have been any way for her to escape the grip that the dark creature had on herself. No, death seemed like the only option. Maybe, if things had turned out differently and Amaya had been able to figure something out sooner, she would have probably been able to save them. Now, however, it was too late and Reiko knew it as she stared death in the eyes. Well, bandaged eyes. Whomever this being was, he wasn't one that took any nonsense.
As Reiko was forced into what had to be inevitably a beheading position, the dark creature glared out at Nirax as he threatened it. "Say what you will. In the end, you're essentially doing my dirty work for me anyway! I was just having fun in the long run!" Where the dark creature used the possessed Dragoon Warriors to wreak havoc, it revealed its true motive. That very motive was to eliminate the Dragoon Warriors. The only one that had been able to escape its grasp was the black Dragoon Warrior, Amaya.
Of course, despite losing, the thing caused Reiko's mouth to smirk during the final moments. Just as the keyblade fell to cleave off her head one final time, Reiko's final thoughts hadn't been her best friend but her boyfriend, Jason. Knowing that she was inevitably dying during that final moment, Reiko hoped that he would be able to move on without her and live a good life. She regretted not being able to be there with him and see it to the end together. With that, her thoughts and life were abruptly cut as her head had been severed and Reiko was no more.
As Amaya ran over, she saw what had happened to Reiko. Arin had beheaded her. "...I thought you might do that without me..." Amaya stated as she got closer to Arin. At least, it looked like Arin from this angle. A...different version of him. She had seen him change into two different versions, this one was...new. Had something happened? As she got closer, the Arin she thought she was seeing had turned on her. His keyblade was aimed at her! Amaya, confused, came to an abrupt halt.
What Arin said, his tone emotionless, made her take great pause. "Dark creature?!" she repeated, confusedly. Continue the fight? Amaya's eyes widened as she waved her arms in front of her. "Whoa! Nononono! I'm not here to fight!" Amaya exclaimed. Why wasn't he recognizing her? Clearly, something was very wrong here. Amaya furrowed her brows as she took a step back uncertainly.
"Come on, Arin, don't you recognize me? It's me, Amaya!" Amaya stated but there didn't seem to be anything changing. She had even let her armor disperse to try and help him recognize her better if he could see her face. Yet, it didn't seem to be ringing any bells. Just what was going on? Then, it began to hit her. This wasn't Arin. The realization hit her hard. She had run into someone that looked like him but wasn't him. Could it be...? Was it the thing that Arin had been running from?
"...Wait...you're not Arin...so if you're not Arin...then you must be..." Amaya backed away hurriedly. Oh boy, she had run into a ton of trouble just now! Amaya had summoned her armor but not to attack, to defend herself with as she continued to back off swiftly.

Nirax cared little about what the dark creature had to say. It didn't matter if he was doing the creature's work, but he did swing a little harder than necessary when it basically claimed to have used him, not pleased with hearing that from the creature.
He tilted his head when Amaya started trying to appeal to 'Arin's' common sense, not caring whether or not she had armor and not once lowering his blade. When she realized who she had stumbled upon, and the fact that she knew who Arin was, Nirax realized that Arin apparently has found a traveling companion.
"...So...He's told you about me..." He lowered his blade, his glowing yellow eyes shifting left and right as the Heartless and Nobody vanished into darkness "...I suggest you don't get too close to him..."
A dark portal appeared behind Nirax, the dark mass overshadowing him in size as he dismissed his keyblade "...Spare yourself the pain...Because I will kill him...So enjoy what time you have with him now and move on, or end up like your headless friend here...That is your only warning, woman..."
Nirax turned and walked into the dark corridor, giving Amaya a brief glimpse of the scar on his back, and the slash mark that was left behind by Reiko, a wound that's already stopped bleeding. Before Amaya could even retort, Nirax was gone.

Amaya wasn't sure what to do. Her thoughts were to run from this encounter. After all, if this was what was after Arin, it might come after her. Of course, she didn't know what it's...his...methods were. He remained poised, weapon not once lowered. This was what had made Amaya back away and realization had dawned on her that this wasn't Arin. There was just too much of an imposing vibe that was coming off of this figure.
Then, finally, he spoke. The monotone voice, just as before, realized that Arin had told her about him. Now, there was no question in her mind. This had to be that thing following Arin around. Once he realized who she was, Amaya half expected him to try and attack her. Instead, this figure merely told her to not get close to Arin. Amaya couldn't help but look back at him uncertainly and confusedly. Why was he doing this? She was, honestly, surprised that he hadn't chosen to attack her.
A portal appeared behind Nirax as he continued, telling Amaya that she should spare herself the pain claiming that he would kill Arin. Amaya watched as this dark being sent away his keyblade, telling her to enjoy what time she had with Arin and then move on. Otherwise, this guy was claiming that he would remove her head like her friend, reminding Amaya about Reiko's dead body. So, this thing had killed Reiko. If he killed Reiko, then where was Arin? Arin was alive from what this guy said. Amaya watched as the dark being left, informing her that what he had said was her only warning.
As the creature went, Amaya saw what looked to be a nasty scar on this creature as well as what appeared to be another, more fresh slash mark. She had no idea of his healing capability from just seeing that but it looked like he was durable. No doubt, he wouldn't be an easy opponent. Before she could say anything, honestly she couldn't anyway since she was so dumfounded and frightened at the time, he had gone. Amaya was left alone. Her only company was Reiko's dead body with no Arin in sight.
"...Arin...where the hell are you?" Amaya murmured as she looked around. No doubt, he likely went as far away from here as much as possible if he had spotted Nirax. Where could he have gone though?

Arin had been flying all over the island, trying desperately to find Amaya and get out of this world before Nirax or Reiko could catch them. As things were, considering Reiko's illusions and Nirax's ability to simon the creatures that spawned from his defeat to the darkness, they were greatly outnumbered and outmatched. No matter how far he flew, he could still feel the darkness of Nirax's presence looming over him, and he flew as quickly as he could, his mind focused solely on Amaya, the only thing keeping him afloat.
Then, as if it had never happened, the darkness weighing on his heart had stopped. Did Nirax actually stop pursuing him? No, that was impossible, that...thing was obsessed with him, wanted him dead at all costs. Did something force him off of the world before he could catch up to Arin? Regardless, things were alright now. At least, for the moment. Best to head back and try and confront Reiko before she could cause any more harm or find Amaya.
The first thing he did was fly back to the village, hoping to whatever higher power there was that Nirax wouldn't return, or had found some miraculous way to mask his presence. What he did find, however, he did not expect. Amaya was here, looking around for who he could only assume was himself, and a short distance away, Reiko's headless body lay motionless several feet from her head. Arin landed some distance away from Amaya, giving her a bit of space but staying in her field of view. His assumption was that Amaya had finished off Reiko, so he kept silent about that topic, at least until she was ready to talk about it.

Amaya's immediate reaction was to find Arin right now. She knew that Reiko was dead and Nirax was gone. So, what immediate threats there had been were gone. Now, panic was settling in because she had no idea where Arin even was. Had something bad happened to him? She couldn't worry about her own losses until she found out what happened to Arin. She was just starting to lose her cool when she saw movement in the corner of her eye.
Slowly, Amaya turned to face whomever else had appeared. As she caught sight of who it was, her heart calmed. Arin had arrived and he looked alright. Nothing seemed to be out of place other than the fact he looked tired and had endured a battle moments prior. Amaya let out a silent sigh of relief. As that sense of relief overcame her, the realization of what had transpired had begun to finally creep up on her. It was all so sudden and strong that it had brought her to her knees. Stella and Dante were gone. Now, her best friend, Reiko was gone.
Tears spilled from her eyes and down her face. "Oh, Reiko...I'm so sorry!" Amaya sobbed. How she wished things were different. How she wished that this had all never happened. That her sister and friends were fine. That there wasn't such an evil presence in the worlds. She wished, even, that maybe she had also been possessed so that she would have never had to be the last one left to take care of things as they are now. She hated herself. Why had she survived and not ended up possessed while all of the others had? Even Asami, whom was their leader and their strongest warrior, had fallen to such a thing. Yet, unlike them, Amaya hadn't. She had somehow survived and didn't end up possessed.
"H-How can I...keep going...like this? First Stella...then Dante...now Reiko. How am I suppose to stop Asami? How can...how can I kill my own sister? At least with Reiko, I was spared from doing it myself."

Arin was silent as Amaya grieved for her best friend. What could he possibly say that could ever hope to heal the pain she held inside. But when she questioned whether or not she could handle killing her own sister, after reflecting on the deaths of the others, he approached her and pulled her close.
"...There's nothing I could say that could help with this...But if you don't think you can go on, then let me take your place...I have a natural resistance to the darkness, and its stronger effects from emotional stress...I won't risk having this tear you up inside, being forced to do this to yourself..." He closed his eyes and tried to mentally prepare himself for what he was going to offer.
"...Bring me to the world she's in...And go home...I won't have anything to lose if you aren't in danger, and I can finish what the darkness that possessed them started..."

Amaya just couldn't stop the tears. This wasn't an easy journey or mission. Yet, it all fell onto her to get the job done. Well, at least she wasn't alone...but she personally knew them all. Arin, unlike her, never got to know Dante, Stella, Reiko or Asami. He was a stranger in all of this. He wouldn't feel as emotionally pained as she would. He could understand it, yes, but only to a certain extent. On top of it, the final member they had to defeat and kill now was her sister, Asami. Asami was her flesh and blood and a friend she had all of her life. Asami and she did many things together. How was she going to do this?
While Amaya wallowed in her misery, she hated herself for being so weak. Try as she might, she couldn't stop herself from losing to her emotions. She felt ashamed for crying. She was humiliated. All she wanted to do right now was hide somewhere so she could get a hold of herself and let it all out. However, she couldn't bring herself to do that. The emotions that overtook her were too strong.
Then, Arin had come over and pulled her close to him in an embrace. Even though she was sobbing, it was comforting to know that he was there. Amaya buried her face in his chest as he comforted her. As she struggled to get a hold of herself, she heard Arin speak to her. As she tried to listen, she heard him telling her that if she didn't think she could go on to allow him to take her place. He didn't want this to end up tearing her up. He didn't want her to be forced to do this to herself.
Arin said that if she couldn't go on to bring him to the world that Asami was in and to go home. With her not being there, Arin wouldn't have anything to lose if she wasn't in danger and that he could finish it all. How could she live with herself doing anything like that though? Amaya wasn't a coward! Her grandmother wouldn't hear of it either since Asami was Amaya's own sister! Amaya had to be the one to do it.
"That's kind of you, Arin...but you know that I can't do that..." Amaya final said, trailing off as she removed her face from his chest to peer up at him. "Asami's my sister...it will be difficult...but how can I live with myself leaving you to do it all by yourself? No, I have to do this. I have to go."

Arin looked down at Amaya as she turned down his offer. Explaining that Asami was her sister, how she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she left him to do everything by herself, and that this was something that she had to do. Understanding her resolve, he nodded softly.
"Well if you're not going to quit, I'm not going to let you do this alone. I'll carry this burden just as much as you will if I have to."
Suddenly, Reiko's body started glowing brightly, before it, and her decapitated head disappeared in a flash of light, only specks of light flickering where the body and head were before dissipating completely.
