About the Character
Character Personality :
Ryo tends to keep a more rational head on her shoulders than other people her age. She'll observe a situation first and make her decision based on what she has learned. It will take some time and probably a lot of hard work to earn her trust; but if someone does then they have earned a very loyal friend as well. She has a competitive nature that gets her into trouble and sometimes and even into fights she knows she can not win.
Character Appearance : The young girl stands at just under 5'5". Having a body that is slender yet sturdy with developing muscle, she weighs about 1
10 lbs. Her hair is a dark shade of lavender that is usually tied into a low ponytail that reaches the small of her back. her bangs cover her dark blue eyes at times and frame her youthfully round face. The girl's normal attire is a dark blue tunic with thick, black trim. A leather belt of a more vibrant blue hugs her slim waistline and has two matching pouches at each side. Her pants are black and a bit form fitting to allow for the maximum amount of movement. The pants disappear into black leather boots that reach just under her calf muscles. The boots are trimmed with blue in a similar fashion as her top.

Character History :
Ryo is the result of a union between a mighty warrior and a once evil sorceress. Her father was ordered by his kingdom to vanquish the dragon mage of the mountains who had been terrorizing them. But after realizing she was only acting in defense of her beloved dragons, the warrior and the sorceress grew an understanding that lead to friendship and then love. Now an outcast of the kingdom, the warrior and sorceress settled in was was named "The Bad Lands" among other misunderstood peoples once loyal to the kingdom. Ryo was born here and showed great promise in becoming a magi like her mother. But when she was 7, heartless came into her world and took it. Both of her parents fought valiantly to save everyone but both fell in battle, leaving only their weapons left to protect their only child.
Ryo and the other survivors found themselves in a strange new world. Where they were accustomed to the lifestyle of a medieval, European village right out of the pages of a fairytale; they now found themselves in a vast city with bright, tall buildings and technology far advanced from their comfort. This world was known as Crescent City. Magic was new to the city and once the officials found out about Ryo's abilities, they became weary. With no one to teach her how to master her powers, the officials appointed their leading scientists to discover a way to seal her magic from herself- and so they did. Ryo's magic was locked away within her, leaving her feeling cut off from the memory of her mother. She has hated the scientific team ever since and has focused her energy on mastering her swordsmanship until she either figures out how to break the seal on her own- or force the scientists to do it.
Writing Portion
Sample Post :
Of all the days for the rolling black outs to hit the orphanage, this time of day was the worst. It was early evening on a hot summer day and without any power the building was left hot and sticky with many cranky children upset over the loss of the majority of their entertainment. Ryo, along with the other older kids, were in charge of finding all the candles and placing them where needed. The younger children were sent to bed and the young teens and preteens were left hunched over the tables in the common room. the candlelight flickered across the bored faces and left them to resemble something more akin to the undead.
As Ryo sat at a table she took a moment to look around. She never realized how dependent her peers had become on such things like the television and the public computer. A boy near her age sat across from her. His freckled face was held in her hand as he kept his arm propped up with his elbow on the table. The candle between them brought out the subtle and natural red highlights in his curly brown hair. Ryo's deep, blue eyes watched the flame of the tall candle waver and dance before them as she tried not to think about how her black T-shirt was clinging to her sweat-dotted body.
A thought came to her suddenly and her thin lips curled into a smirk. She eyes the boy who was drawing shapes into the tabletop with his fingernail. Ryo licked the fingers on her right hand and waved them before the boy to get his attention. With a somewhat disgusted look he arched a thick brow at her. The girl hovered her saliva-coated fingers over the flame and waved them into a dance. The fingers then waved through the fire a few times and left not a single mark on them.
The boy perked his head up and watched with growing interest.
"Woah- that was cool, kinda gross but cool. Can you do it again?"
Ryo smiled and wet her fingers once more before repeating the trick. The boy mimicked her actions and waved his fingers through the fire as well.
"Hey, I betcha won't copy this," he said and held up his other hand. he licked only the index finger and hovered his hand near the candle. Making sure the wet finger was first, he waved his hand through the fire and back as quickly as he could. He tried not to wince afterward as he wrapped his hand in the bottom of his green tank top. "Heh, I dare you to beat that."
Ryo's eyes narrowed somewhat as she studied his covered hand. She held up her left hand and showed every finger was dry before hovering it next to the flame. The boy's mouth fell open as he watched in disbelief and also hoping she would chicken out. As the girl eyed the flame she prayed that if there was ever a time for her to reconnect with her magic- now would be great.
With a dramatic flare, Ryo waved her fingers through the flame not once but three times. Each time made her wince and bite her bottom lip. Red marks were left on her fingers and she was certain there would be a boil or two to come. The boy just stared at her while also leaning away from the table. "Dude, you're crazy! No way that didn't hurt!"
Ryo smirked as she looked up at him, sweat crowning her forehead as she cradled her stinging hand to her stomach. Although she was disappointed that her magic did not return, she could keep herself from enjoying this victory.
"I dare you to beat that."
