'Remembrance of my fault is indeterminate, though as it represents a bond prohibiting my humanity's visual structure I remain dispassionate.' Cornelius crept his knees against his chest as arms wrapped around his bent legs to form a ball. His head remained idle above the knees due to himself hunching a bit. A tome, restless against his side within a pouch, awoke. It glew a faint emerald, from the thin layer of coat surrounding each page and the corners of the hard cover.
"You're a demoralized child," its glow radiated a bit upon speaking verbally before reverting. In ease and swiftness, it levitated into the air in front of Cornelius and flew pages until reaching a certain page. It lay against his feet, angled upward in favor Cornelius' view. His eyes fixated onto the speaking tome, and read what it offered.
Cornelius and the animate tome were in a sphere that kept only darkness and without a speck of light. Crafted in forged titanium to house a single occupant and enhanced by unknown magick to assure that tamper was rid of, it was located in an ocean's deepest depth. It was held by five chains tightly secured to a nearby rock foundation naturally formed.
"You refer to me as an atrocious book?" It laughed maniacally, curving its pages to ripple the effect. The sphere tickled a vibration, before becoming dull as before.
"Cornelius, this is your fault. If only you accepted my offer, all those that oppose you would have been obliterated." It continued, devious as always. Cornelius stared at the only source of 'light' kept from him for decades. His posture straightened, and legs spread to allow the tome to be his priority.
"I am your only method of releasing yourself from captivity." It levitated into the air, closing itself with a latch to secure its secrets. A few minutes passed, and Cornelius and this book kept themselves within close proximity. His eyes were entirely focused on the conjured platinum face it conjured. Eventually, his left hand grasped the face, and trouble began.
From the outside, the sphere shook violently. The chains crackled and swerved, devoted into standing unchallenged. This rippled through the water near them, and it became more aggressive and accompanied by an eerie emerald, faint glow.
