"Where am I?" Pendragon was surrounded by darkness and stars. He stood on some sort of glass platform. As he gazed at it he noticed the multiple colors of green, yellow, orange, pink, red, and purple. In the center of this circular platform was a light blue heart. Something wasn't right. How had he gotten here? Where was here exactly? This wasn't where he should be. Last thing he remembered was that he had been chasing Whi after he had turned him into a...
Having forgotten, Pen looked down and once again saw that his once scaled arms and legs were now long and pale. That's right! Whi had turned him into a human! After he had killed... Pen couldn't even finish the thought. Just thinking of them: old man Shin, Kor, and Ming, it brought a lump to his throat. "Can't think of that now! Have to find Whi! Have to get an answer!" He told himself.
Pen had run after Whi, charging down the mountain. But then he had slipped. He remembered hitting his head on something and then it was dark. But this was surely not the mountain! Glancing around, Pen's eyes locked on a large item in the center of the platform. He had never seen a mirror before, having only ever seen his reflection in water. Approaching the mirror, he came to a stop as he noticed there was a human standing in it! "Another one of those cursed creatures!" He thought as he stepped back. The human in the mirror repeated his movements.
That made him stop. Pen glanced at the mirror, and as he held up his pale arm the human did so as well! Was that him?! The figure in the mirror was nude. He had pale skin, long blondish blue hair, sapphire eyes, and pale lips. That didn't seem right. Was that really him?! Pen approached the mirror, the figure growing larger the closer he came. What had he become?! He had turned into one of those things that old man Shin had said to stay away from. "In times of trial you must protect them, but never get close! For if you do they will corrupt you!" Was this what Shin had meant? Was that what had happened to Whi?
Coming to a stop about a yard from the mirror, he watched as the image of himself it portrayed suddenly swirled and became a simple combination of colors. Stepping back in alarm, Pen watched as the image he was accustom to seeing appear in the mirror. His body appeared! His real one! The dragon he always knew himself as matched his movements. "I want it back..." He said quietly to himself. Stepping forward, Pen stretched out his hand as did the dragon. When his hand touched the mirror the dragon suddenly came racing out of the mirror. It took the form of a spirit and it charged right into Pen, throwing him back and onto his arse!
As he felt a sharp pain in his backside, Pen forced himself back up. When he did he realized his appearance had changed. He no longer was naked. His body was now covered in a small amount of plated blue armor: a breast plate, leg guards, and lower arm guards. Black leather armor covered the rest of his body. A red scarf was wrapped around his neck, and a helm fashioned like a dragon on his head. Strapped to his back was a javelin of the likes Pen had never seen before.
Suddenly the sound of breaking glass from behind him made Pen turn about. The platform was falling to pieces! Pen suddenly took off towards the other end to try and get away from the fast shattering glass. But he was not fast enough! He began to fall backwards into the surrounding darkness. As Pen looked up he saw the heart shaped moon in the sky! He needed his wings! If he had his wings he could fly! Pen tried to flex his back, hoping that his former dragon wings would just appear...
And then he opened his eyes. Glancing about Pen found himself laying on the ground. First thing he realized was that he had a tail again. He felt the wings connected to his back! He was back! But Pen also became aware of something else. Something deep inside him that seemed to be calling. It was like a door! And Pen knew that if he opened it he would transform back into that thing! Like hell he was going to do that again!
Rising up from the ground, Pen realized that something wasn't right. The first thing was that the ground was flat. That shouldn't be true on a mountain. He was in some sort of woods. There were trees surrounding him. But the trees smelled different. They did not smell like the woods he was used too. "Now where am I?" He said aloud. Pen was a small dragon. Only eleven feet tall in total he was quite young, only sixteen. He would most likely grow twice his size by the time he finished growing. But for now that was as tall as he was going to be.
Pen needed to see where he was. He needed to get back to the mountain. He needed to barre them... Then he would find Whi and get some answers. But first he had to realize where he was, so that he could get home. Pen spread his wings and took into the air. He flew into the air above the forest. What he saw those surprised him. He was on the edge of some giant city that was next to a vast ocean! In the center of that town was a large tower. The buildings though were things he had never seen before! Looking south he saw there were more woods! He could not see what lay beyond that! Not too far into the woods from where he was was another building. No doubt humans lived there too! This wasn't good! Just how had he come to a place that was surrounded by people.
He couldn't move now. He had to remain unseen! He would have to remain in the woods until nightfall. Then he could see more of where he was. Maybe then he could figure out how to get to the mountain. Landing back in the woods he curled up and waited. He had no clue that the humans sometimes ventured into these woods too.
