They were told to be prepared for anything. Evia always thought something like that always went without saying, or if there was a crowd of those lesser-trained then they would need a reminder every now and again to be on the safe side, but this was definitely no lesser crowd. In order for Damien to make such an explicit request in this situation, something must be truly amiss about what's going on. That, or Vampires really are much scarier than she remembers hearing about, still assuming that they're real. They probably were at this point, but she was prepared for anything.
Without another word, she entered the portal, waited patiently at the next door, got invited in and waited patiently again for further instruction. Evia gazed absent-mindedly around the palace, admiring it's architecture and decor, not having ever been to a place like this before. A few of her martial arts sensei's houses had similar styles sometimes, but in reality were much more modern. Before she knew it though it was time to go again, into the next portal. She nodded, and without another word advanced to their next destination, bracing for whatever may be on the other side. Well, until she found out she was just outside the palace again. Hmm. Seems they were going to need further briefing.

David followed the others through the palace until they met an official of some sort in the throne room. He barely needed to glance at the man’s aura to know he wouldn't like him, especially combined with his body language. General Damien’s aura flared in irritation at the sight of him, though he hid it well, clearly marking some bad blood between the two. David kept his head straight as he half listened to the short conversation, but he took full advantage of his visor to glance from person to person.
Near the end of the conversation everyone grew tense as the General made his vow, making David concentrate on the guards enough that he instinctively started releasing small amounts of Light and Darkness into the air around him. Thankfully nothing happened as General Damien ripped open another of those interesting portals and walked through. David quickly followed before releasing a relieved sigh, cut short by his eyes finally noticing the faint swirls of white and black surrounding him. He immediately pulled the Elements back into his body, hoping nobody had noticed his slip-up.

As soon as they were outside the palace, Damien gazed out at the place around them. People paid them some curious glances before going about their business. They, unlike their world leader, knew very little about the Knights of Heart. Damien hoped that they could keep it that way. Where their organization, The Knights of Heart, was a good thing for the worlds it also meant that a lot of bad was happening here if they ended up frequently visiting this place.
Damien's thoughts were broken by those that had exited the portal he had left open for his comrades. Bringing his attention over to none other than Siris, Damien heard his questions. They were viable questions considering that scene back there.
"Taking into consideration that vampires have a tendency to prey on humans, where there are large amounts of blood, they would likely be within the city but have a place set up some distance away to make things difficult on anyone trying to find them. I'm well aware that we've hardly any leads but there's also a village on the mountain pass up ahead as well. There's a known cave down that way. Maybe there's something there too if we can't find any leads here. That means we may need to split up so that we can cover both grounds easier." Damien, already was taking into consideration who would go with whom.
"As for who that was, that...two face's name is Sanan. He wouldn't have given us any other information even if he did have it. His eyes are on the throne. They always have been. Unfortunately for the king, there hasn't been anyone encountered yet that would surpass him. Otherwise, he'd not be in the position he's in right now. Such is the way with things." Damien didn't sound the least bit happy about it either. He hated Sanan. If he could kill the man, he would. However, Damien was aware that he couldn't resort to his old ways. If he did, there would likely be the accusation that Damien was working for the Dark God again. Even if it was certain that the Dark God could no longer bother the worlds after what Damien and the others had done.
"As for the king...well, his name is Aiden Wilder. He was the sole remaining royal heir back when Land of Dragons was attacked during the Dark God war. He inherited the Wilder throne when his uncle and heirs were killed. He has dark blue, short hair and bright green eyes. He wields twin swords in battle and is essentially, blood wise, a dragoon. So, his ears are pointed, eyes turn into slits when he's angry, and his teeth are a tad sharper than normal. He's a good kid though...er, well, he's not a kid anymore...Anyway, he's an old friend...and still the reckless kid that I've known him to be. I don't think he'd be the sort to be kidnapped but we shall see."
Damien looked around at everyone finally. "Alright, we're to search these settlements and try to find anyone suspicious that may look like a vampire. Once we find them, we are to follow them in secret to see where their lair is. Once we do, the ones who find them are to report back. Do not go in by yourself. There's no guarantee what danger you might find yourself in should you try that." Damien tore open a portal that would lead to the village on the mountain pass.
"We're going to split into two groups. One other will accompany Claire and the others will accompany myself. I plan to head out to that village seeing as Sanan will likely have people looking for me by now to try and spy on me after that remark. It would be safer that I am not immediately seen. I am well aware that there are five of us. David, you go with Claire. Siris and Evia, you come with me." Damien figured it would give him some time to also let Siris get more training in and a better means for Damien to keep an eye on Siris's condition.
"Are we in agreement?" Damien asked the others at large.

Siris nodded as the General answered his questions, and spoke out his battle plan. He gave Evia a leery look for a moment, though inwardly excited to see if she could properly handle herself. He looked back to the commander, shaking his head. "I've no complaints, sir." He say the use in the strategy. He was probably stronger than Claire, and that gap would be able to compensate for Siris' and Evia's skill level, where as David and Claire were strong enough to hold their own. He turned to David, nodding. "Stay safe, friend. Try not to get bit, out there." He winks at him, before turning his attention back to the General. "Ready when you are, sir."

David glanced around as General Damien explained the situation further, but relaxed when he failed to mention his mistake. He nodded in agreement at the mention of the two teams, secretly relieved to hear that he was going with Claire. Out of all the members here, other than Siris obviously, he thought that Claire would be the least judgmental about his abilities. He chuckled at Siris' comment. "If they can bite through this armor I'll be surprised. Watch yourself out there." With that, he turned to Claire and nodded respectfully. "I'm ready as well, Commander."

(OOC: Since there was more than enough time for a response, I am going to continue this.)
Damien watched in silence as David and Siris spoke to one another. The two were obviously good friends, if not best friends. That was good. Everyone needed someone that they could trust. It reminded Damien of the times when he had discovered the meaning of friends. Despite the fact there had been dark times in the mix then, Damien had a lot of fond memories of that time. Aiden and Orion, those two had been the closest. Orion, of course, had originally been an enemy but it was Aiden that had eventually caused them to become friends. Aiden had been like a little brother to Damien. If anything had happened to him, Damien would make sure those responsible paid dearly for it.
Now that their groups had been decided, Damien allowed the members a brief moment to bid farewell to the other group. Claire would take good care of David. Honestly, a larger group going into the city would have been much wiser. Such a place didn't require a large amount of strength for such a setting. Next time, Damien would put a larger group in a city-like setting.
As he focused his attention on Siris and Evia, Damien merely nodded. "Alright, follow me." Once again, Damien tore open a portal. This time, when they stepped out, the three of them would find themselves standing before a small village. Here, it was dramatically colder and there was snow on the ground. Out here, no one would suspect a vampire group to be hanging about but there was always that chance. It seemed more likely that a group would seek refuge out here, away from the prying eyes of the imperial city. Things could go unnoticed out here.
"Alright, stick close. If you see anything suspicious, let me know. Don't go running off to see what it is alone." With that, Damien lead the way into the tiny village. As they entered, people took pause and looked at them curiously. After all, they were adorned in armor. They were varied in appearance but they were dressed in armor. It was enough to make passersby take pause to look at them with curiosity.
Damien simply ignored them as he looked around for anything that looked suspicious.
