Character Basics
Character Name: Cody Black
Character Age: 17 years
Character Race: Shapeshifter
Character Gender: Male
About the Character
Character Personality: Cody is best described as an energetic ball of chaos. He can
go from one thing to the next without missing a best. He’s a skilled improviser
and in generally friendly with others. Cody’s creativity knows no bounds; and
can pull off the wackiest schemes with only a few minor setbacks. At the drop
of a hat he can come up with hundreds of different ways to put a smile on
someone’s face. Cody is a bit selfish and working towards his own goals rather
than others. He’s not exactly skilled with social cues. Cody is rarely angered
or sad. He has a soft spot for any he might call a friend and will do his best
to try to help. Despite the chaotic nature, he’s a reasonable fellow and can
negotiate if necessary. Cody has an unhealthy habit of enjoying potato chips
and bacon for inexplicable reasons.
Character Appearance: Cody varies in appearance however he favors being 5’7” tall
with a slightly muscular build, and fair skin with a mess of dark brown hair
worse than Harry Potter. Cody’s eyes have consistently retained their metallic
silver color as a result of a genetic disorder which locks his eye color.
Cody’s attire is usually a plain white t-shirt with a crew neckline, black
pants, and black sneakers. He also sports a black duster coat with a few
pockets on the inside. He never takes off a pink quartz pendant that has been
roughly carved into a heart due to it being the one thing he always remembers
having.

Character Relationships:
George and Martha Black – Cody’s adoptive parents who’ve cared for Cody since he was a
small boy. They don’t always approve of his antics, but love him anyway. Cody
knows they aren’t his real parents, but he’s close to them as if they were his
real parents.
Ella Black – Cody’s younger adoptive sister. She’s a year younger than he is, and has been
slightly influenced by Cody’s less-than-model example. She tends to tease him
and he returns the favor.
Ronnie Jay – Cody’s best pal from the other side of town. Ronnie sometimes gets involved
with Cody’s antics and helps cause trouble of his own.
Character History: Cody has never met his parents, but got by with his adoptive parents
from Twilight Town. According to them, Cody was found at the doorstep of their
home sleeping under the awning after a night’s rain as a two year old. He was
raised in the community, though he couldn’t really get into the Struggle
tournaments since he was frequently distracted during the preliminaries. It was
easy for anyone to tell Cody had the ability to change appearance since he was
a youth with his frequent hair color change. He managed to take control of his
powers and ensured to try to grow as if it were natural, unless he couldn’t go
somewhere unless he was older. Cody had a quirk of getting into all sorts of
shenanigans, and had multiple run-ins with the disciplinary committee from the
incidents. Cody’s step-parents insisted that Cody find a constructive hobby as
he’d been causing far too much trouble after an incident on the train going to
the other side of town. Cody chose to learn archery, though at first most of
the townspeople thought he was going to be more of a menace. He still possesses
his first oak bow that he trained with as a youth. By the time he was fourteen,
Cody had managed to become decent with a bow and used it for odd jobs that
required the use of his weapon. Cody wanted to enhance his battle skill after
hearing of the existence of other worlds and strange creatures that sometimes
appeared in the town, and took a trip to the mansion just outside town. There
he picked up on the ice-based abilities that he puts to use in combat.
Eventually, Cody took an interest in mechanics and was less of a menace in the
town as he began figuring out how to make plans and build a gummi ship of his
own preference. He finished it at sixteen after a year of work and took the Fuchsia Storm out on her maiden
voyage where Cody landed at the Deep Jungle and discovered flamingo feathers
worked better for his fletching and returned home in order to get the custom
arrows and compound bow he uses more frequently. It took time to get used to
the compound bow, but now that he has, Cody is preparing to make another long
journey to explore other worlds, and cause a few incidents.
Writing Portion
Sample Post: It wouldn’t be easy to tell what time it was if there wasn’t a
clocktower in the usually peaceful Twilight Town. But it was late afternoon,
the sun lazily hung in the horizon like it always had, Cody was making a few
adjustments to the Storm in preparation for the day of departure. He
wouldn’t want to get himself stranded on a world by accident, it would take the
fun out of the journey. Ella was out shopping with some friends of hers,
probably telling them about Cody’s coming departure. He knew the town would
probably be partially relieved, partially sad to see him leave. Cody knew he
was going to come back, just to keep his fellow townspeople on their toes. Cody
finished the last adjustment and returned the toolbox aboard his ship. George
had made Cody get his own set of tools for the journey instead of borrowing the
ones from home.

companion replied.
“Nope! Never do!” Cody called. The pair was startled and briskly continued on their way asCody exited the garage. He tried using the remote, but the door didn’t move. He
jumped up and caught the handles to bring down the garage door. Cody slowly
descended until his feet touched the ground. Cody pulled the door down with a
grunt and slid the remote under before finishing the job. He slapped his hands
together and began to stroll down the street in the opposite direction the
gossiping pair went.
the shops.
“Ronnie, hey!” Cody replied as Ronnie joined Cody on his walk.“So, I hear you’re heading out for the big trip. That’s pretty wild.” Said Ronnie.
"Yep. I’m gonna check out the world and have some fun. Though this time I
shouldn’t get caught since my parents won’t be able to bail me out.” Cody
answered. The pair laughed and they reached the ice creams shop.
purchase and handed one off to Ronnie. Along the way they ate the salty-sweet
desserts, talking about some of the schemes they pulled as they passed the
sites until they reached the sandlot, where other town kids were practicing for
the struggle tournament.
“I’ll let you know if I win this time. I probably won’t, but I’ll give it my
best.” Said Ronnie.
“You’ve stepped up since the last tournament, heck, I bet you’ll beat the
champion this time.” Cody suggested.
“You’re just buttering me up.” Ronnie said and shoved Cody off the bench just
as Cody started chewing on the stick. Cody yelped in surprise as he landed on
his rump. Ronnie laughed hysterically.
“You yelped just like a puppy!” Ronnie said through his laugh. Cody threw the stick
at Ronnie and it hit him in the nose. Ronnie pouted and rubbed it. Cody
followed with kicking Ronnie off the bench as well and laughed back at him.
“That’s what you get!” Cody said tauntingly. Ronnie rolled his eyes and the
pair went into a fit of laughter. Cody had always enjoyed these moments, and
he’d have countless more when he returned.
