Usually in her line of work, there's no immediate attention needed on a mercenary posting, but apparently the sighting of a humanoid bug-eyed jet-black stranger was crawling around caused a big enough spook that the need to look into its appearance and course of actions was posted immediately. Kalaraine just happened to be around in her quarters when there was a buzz about a new posting.
It was a sighting just earlier that day. There was no immediate need to kill or capture what was lurking around, but just to get more info. Bounty was low, but the task was fascinating. It sounded like a Heartless! But at the same time... here's no way it could be? Unless humans can turn into bug-eyed jet-black weirdos. Highly doubtful in her opinion, but if it was innocent she didn't really trust anyone to take this one and not just shoot on sight and claim it was dangerous for a potential higher pay.
Even in the most unlikely or smallest of worlds, there was always a guild headquarters for freelancers like Kalaraine, and if you were a regular part of the business you always knew where to find them. Even some haughty-taughty place like Disney Town had an underground place for the mercs to lay low and catch their breath, maybe even take a little job or two that the royal miff couldn't be bothered to take on, or even didn't know about.
Anyway, first things first: have a simple look around, see if the target can be spotted. If it can, follow it. A bug-eyed weirdo should be easy to spot from the crowds. In fact, if there were crowds, it would probably cause screaming and flailing due to the resemblance of Heartless. There was none of that yet, so no dead giveaways. In the meantime, she watched around her like a hawk, walking in no particular pattern, drifting from corner to corner in lower population areas.
'I sure hope this isn't some wild goose chase...' Kalaraine thought to herself, checking all of the open and obvious places first, getting the easy stuff out of the way without seeming too suspicious.

Imagine yourself....back in the Realm of Darkness...do not be afraid of your inner hatred....come back....embrace it....cast aside all you hold dear....become one with the void....Holding in a scream, the being of darkness named Sin stumbled through an alleyway, bumping into some crates. It kept bumping into things, falling over a few times, before it emerged into the central plaza. At that moment, Sin's emergence had caused quite a stir in the crowded plaza, clearing most of the people out almost instantly.
Feeling a little bit of remembrance directly at the center of the plaza, Sin curled up into the fetal position sideways, trying to remember what it was. What...what....what am...You are nothing....nothing but a fleeting emotion....of confusion.... Sin continued to be curled up, shuttering in...fear? A dark wind brushed Sin's back, leaving the silhouette of a great sword behind. But Sin just remained curled up, leaving the silhouette alone.

It was just like the girl to curse her luck, only to have it turn around dramatically like a slap in the face. "It's like I need to hate life in order to move forward with these things..." she said out loud, but softly to herself. A loud directed source of people fleeing the scene in a hurried panic was a clear indication of something going wrong. It was a win-win really, either she helped out with the situation and was rewarded accordingly, or it was just simply the target she was looking for. Kalaraine wasted no time breaking into a dash toward the scene, where most others were fleeing from.
After getting to a deserted plaza, she wondered what the commotion was. Maybe it was a little ways up? She kept running when she couldn't help but come to a screeching halt after making out what was in the middle. What... what was that? There was... a being... a very unnatural being just laying there. In its shadow was a large sword. She couldn't comprehend the situation fast enough for her liking.
Instinctively she flipped backwards through the air while brandishing two knives standing at a defensive pose. It didn't move or speak right away, but the moment it tried to come at her she would be ready.
It would come after her... right?

More noises....more...voices You feel it, can't you...? The feeling of humanity....of life.....it has come to take you back to me... No...no...no one is making me go back Sin thought to itself. Standing up to a battle-ready crouch, Sin seemed to flicker for only a moment becoming ethereal, causing the blade to fall to the ground where it left a small sword shaped crater.
Sin picked up the large blade and rest it on it's right shoulder with ease. Appearing to try to speak, no words escaped it's mouth. Don't hurt me....I'm never getting lost in that abyss, again..... Appearing to scream again, sound actually escaped this time. An ear-attacking sound, shattering various windows in the Disney Town plaza.
Sin kept jumping around the area, smashing the blade in to the ground, then jumping again. It was looking for any reaction, any way to defend it's being. The only place it would stop itself from smashing was the area it laid in when it felt a memory.

[OOC: How about a song to set the mood? www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGueIzEqMUM ] Alright, this situation went from freaky to straight up unreal. What in the world was going on? Where did that sword come from? This... whatever it was seemed to be completely unique to anything the girl has encountered, and Kalaraine has encountered quite a lot of things in her line of work. This was indescribable - a jet-black Heartless-esque boy that could materialize giant swords and appear to a ghost all at the same time. How could this get worse? The thing could open its mouth and render the girl defenseless with a gut-wrenching scream, that's how. The oddly-robed girl had to drop her knives to cover her ears as an instinctual response. Definitely took her by surprise, but not for long. "Hey, uh, no need, I won't hurt you if you--" she began saying, fallen on deaf ears unfortunately. 'I'm going to have to calm it down... I don't think he wants to hurt anyone' she thought to herself as Sin made the first leap. It was easy to tell from his posture that he was going to slam the sword, and even after a landing that he was going to jump; if he was going to jump he probably would've done it again. He missed though, he seemed to be attacking aimlessly. Kalaraine had to dodge some of the splash of rubble flying, but she moved in rapid circles around him reaching into her robes and pulling out knives and dropping or scattering them everywhere. The idea was similar to caltrops, he could stub his toe or hand from an impact and react to the pain... if it ever felt any. So how would she pin this guy? Well... probably wait for the right moment between a jump slash and tackle him with a fierce bull rush, the idea being to knock him away from his own sword. Maybe. But could she hit him while he was... she didn't know, a ghost? Worth a shot at least! She kept running until she saw a moment where he barely misses with the sword, and then charged in, hoping to dive-tackle him down! If she missed, she would roll to the side and continue the evasion game until she had a new plan.

Pain...Pain and...Fear, the emotions Sin had would be apparent in it's attack pattern. The Pain was certainly coming from the blades left on the ground by Kalaraine, which poked Sin in the foot with every smash. The Fear....that was something else entirely. Darkness seemed to drip out of it's mouth like water droplets, was it trying to expel the Darkness around it? While smashing the ground, debris kept crashing against it's face, doing little to stop the... Ground War. (Ba Dum Tss) In between one of it's smashes, Kalaraine tackled Sin into submission, causing the Sword to fly out of it's grip and become a dark mist once it touched the ground. This feeling...this was...a person, not Darkness with humanity. Remembering who it was and what it could do, Sin put a hand over it's heart, causing light to climb up from it's feet. In the wake of the light, it showed boots. Then pants. While the light continues to dissolve the Darkness, let me tell you a story. A few years ago, there was a Hero from this world. This exact Town. The Heroes sibling fled the world, Becoming a criminal. This evil sibling found it's Father, getting training from him. This child destroyed an entire planet after being taught the highest tier of magic that world knew, which was Teleportation. The good sibling found the bad one many times, trying to convince them to stop, but it never seemed to work. Eventually, the Hero had two children, one good, one evil. While their powers remained 'mostly' parallel, the Philosophy completely switched. The Good child had the same power and looked just like the evil sibling. This changed the evil sibling , which came the aid of the Heroes daughter during it's fall into the Dark Chasm (A Place). The evil daughter kept the Switched Sister in the Dark Chasm, sending a copy of them to mascaraed that everything was ok. Back to the present. Grinning as the last of the light went over it, Sin looked down and said "Man, that was not a fun place at all. Thank you very much.". Wanting a more dramatic introduction, some words started appearing in lightning over Sin's head. They cut right to the chase and spelled a short name. - Van Dawn- Van, the criminal whose copy, made by the evil daughter(Niece) Rubbi, had recently been incarcerated in this town's prison. (Black sleveless, black pants with a black short skirt(ish) on her waist. black shoes ad a red scarf. White, not Blue eyes) Van made her red scarf into a hood (The scarf was made from a piece of her Sister's old fireproof military coat), trying not to draw attention to herself. "So tell me. What's your story? Do you just tackle heartless to death? Also....how long were you planning on staying on top of me?" A good thing to say would have been how she could actually see. You know, because her Sister's attack a few years ago burned out her eyesight and she was clearly blind right now..

The opening held true, Kalaraine's tackle disabled and disarmed the target at the same time. Now she could get a clear look at the 'monster' terrorizing the castle town and get some answers to-- or, it could just start glowing for no reason at all! Quick on her reflexes, the girl sprang backwards and maintained a defensive stance with two knives in each of her hands. The being's shimmer began to reveal more human clothing and even more surprisingly a human wearing it.
Out of curiosity, she drew closer while fixated on the materialization taking place in front of her. Being in such a deep trance, she stepped unexpectedly on a knife and lost her footing, falling back onto what was now 'the girl'. As Kalaraine tried to pick herself up, he girl spoke, and lettering appeared above her head. She read the name softly under her breath. Then a curt remark about her tackling Heartless and invading her privacy. She sprang back up again and dusted herself off, and held out a hand to the girl to help her up.
"Umm... What's my story? I'll be glad to tell you if you explain why you looked like a Heartless and went on a rampage. And--" Kalaraine's expression suddenly turned to shock. This girl was... familiar. She knew her. Why? She suddenly closed her eyes and her head twitched a little. Now wasn't the time for silly games. She was technically on a mission and it was far from over. "And..." Crap. She forgot what she was going to say. "Let's just start there" she said after an awkward pause, looking away to the left and blushing slightly.

Taking Kalaraine's hand, Van rose to her feet, pondering the question. "Well, let's see. Where do I start...Who am I...Well, as my Electric Name Tag said, my name is Van Dawn. I used to live on this world years ago with my sister, Katie Dawn, before I went rogue. I was convinced to leave by my Father, and I begun training under him. I followed him to his supposed goal of unifying all the worlds by force. My sister, who was then a Colonel in the military, chased after me, always trying to bring me back, no matter how many times I had tried to kill her. She really wanted me to come home and meet my two nieces in the last time. One time, she caught me for good, technically. We were trapped in stone together by a spell she made.".
Pausing, Van took an inhale of air between her story. "After sometime, my sister's 'key' for the spell had unlocked the stone spell. When we were trapped in stone, I had lost my eyesight due to the blinding light and sun she had sealed us with. I kidnapped the niece that didn't look like me due to my sight, but it turned out to be the right move. Or so I thought. The neice that I kidnapped was named Rubbi. The one I had wanted to take was named Lynn. Lynn could only use electric magic, you know, the kind I use. And Rubbi only used fire magic. As it turns out, Rubbi learned how to make artificial electricity, much like her mother did, but on a much larger scale.".
Pausing for more air, Van finished her story. "In the end, Rubbi nearly killed me in the battle between her mother, My Brother in Law, and my other niece. Before she could destroy everyone, Lynn tackled Rubbi off a cliff into a dark abyss. My Brother in Law dived off the cliff after them, which is were we get to almost present day. I jumped in after him knowing that this darkness would destroy him. As I reached him, I was attacked and had my voice silenced by the darkness. This abyss made a clone of me which saved him "blind" and everything, and I assume it went to jail in my place. But, that seems to far out for a dark clone.".
Van made a side note. "Oh, I forgot. My Father made me attack an entire world of people. He might have had an hidden motive, I don't know. I've done some BAD things in my life, that's what I do know.".

There was probably a little more detail int hat story than the girl had asked for, but hey she wasn't about to stop the juicy gossip coming from the crazy heartless-turned-girl that just manifested in front of her. She wanted to know everything she could, even if it did fall off the scope of her question. She listened intently, nodding occasionally to indicate she was paying attention, waiting for the perfect opportunity to reply.
Seems this girl is no ordinary... human? She was a human right? She never quite figured that one out, but let's assume so for now. Actually, hold the phone. Did any of this had to do with the fact that the girl was a Heartless just now? Or at least... in the shape of one? Actually, maybe it wasn't a good idea to hash everything out in the middle of this... battleground. Kalaraine snapped her fingers and the kunai began to vanish into the ground.
"Didn't quite answer my question but that's one hell of a story! I'll be honest, the bits about clones or whatever... that's probably why you seem so familiar." Kalaraine wasn't actually recalling the posters or the person detained, but knew she'd seen them. "Let's take you some place safe first; here is no good, and hash out the rest of things." And well, on the way, the strangely-robed girl owed an explanation of her own.
So, as They walked toward a safe spot to lay low, which would be a room she had in a guest suite building not too far off from the palace square, she would explain her side of things a little bit. "As for me, I'm just a fighter who likes to do some good in the world. I'm not a terribly huge fan of the law or any heavily regulated system, so I do things by my own time on my own terms. Makes the saving job... well, job-related stuff, easier. Someone saw your freaky form rolling around town and I wanted to be the first to find you - I wanted your story and I might've been afraid another person in the line of work that I am would kill you on sight." Oops, perhaps she rambled too much. "That's just my side of things though." Probably should give the other girl another fair shot to ask questions.
Kalaraine just hoped they would be easy to answer and not too intrusive about her line of work, or worse, use a certain 'M' word...

After following Kalaraine into the guest suite, Van intently listened to her sort-of backstory. "Hmm...interesting. It kind of sounds like you are a free-lance hero? Normally by default, I would accept your battle because that much effort would be used to take me back in, but I guess the fact that you helped me see and talk again changed my go to response about being tackled. So I guess... " Van paused, going over to the window while gazing out out of it. Her face turned slightly red. "Well....thank you. I rarely say that, so take it to heart."
Van tapped her forehead, trying not to forget Kalaraine's last question. As she was about to answer, she saw a couple of guards make a stop infront of the building. "Hmm...there's some guards outside. It looks like they are just patrolling, but I'll take a precautionary measure just incase." Van took her pointer and middle fingers and lightly pressed them on her throat, tiny visible bolts of electricity could be seen from her two fingers as she let go. Turning around, Van spoke directly to Kalarine in a much different voice.
Her voice was now deep and powerful. More importantly, it didn't sound feminine, just like she planned. "As I was saying, I was in the darkness for awhile, blind, mute, and deaf. I aimlessly wandered around, occasionally swinging that big sword into the ground a few times. My guess is that I managed to find a tear in space or something and was brought here. When you first called to me, I couldn't hear it, but I could feel it. It felt to me like the presence of something big and strong, so I automatically assumed it was a Behemoth Heartless. I was wandering for so long and I didn't want my path to end like that."

[OOC: I'm just... going to leave this here. It wouldn't be right to move onto other RPs without giving this one another chance, especially if I'm still interested in it.]
This just got... weirder and weirder. Now she could manipulate her voice, but she had never heard of someone struggling with an imaginary journey before while being trapped in darkness. She's seen some pretty crazy stuff in her life but this is taking the cake! Good thing she was already past a threshold of 'hey anything's possible' or this might be much harder to soak in. The fact that an actual human emerged from the body of a Heartless rather set the stage for Kalaraine to believe anything however.
Being called a hero? That was also a little tough. She honestly enjoyed the sound of it, but hardly believed she deserved that title or that kind of recognition. Of course the ninja-girl does what she thinks is right, but that's not what everyone thinks is right. It's hard to take in when you save someone and then they blame you for the trouble they're part of in the first place. Luckily Van was more forgiving for that, but now wasn't the time to dwell on insecurities.
"You're not fighting anymore, believe me. I couldn't even imagi-- like how do you-- this is just!" Man, words were hard. If only she were more capable of socializing. Kalaraine took a deep breath and sighed. "Let's just relax for a bit, and figure out a way to say the rampaging Heartless was defeated? If people are going to assume it vanished they can also assume it could come back. And uh..." There was another delicate matter she wanted to discuss, but didn't know if she had to heart to let her on to be suspicious.
No, she couldn't. Well, now she needed to say something. "...we're here!" Kalaraine opened the door to a room revealing a queen-sized bed, a trunk, a table and three chairs, and notes posted all over the walls. It was simple, clearly whoever was spending time here didn't really need to be here for long periods of time.
