Conrí groaned and opened his eyes. The hard mattress of the bed he managed to find for the night after spending what he could earn running mail through the weird twilit town on a strange wheeled contraption on clothes and food for the day. He shifted his body into a sitting position and stretched. The people here seem nice enough, I guess. He stood and tugged on his shoes, remembering that the post master had told him, a complete stranger to come back to the store if he ever needed more munny.
Yes, for a human, he wasn't so bad. I suggest we go out there and earn some munny and then see if we can find you someone to ask your questions to.
Right. I guess off I go, then. Running mail throughout the town was a good way to get to know it. Conrí buckled Claíomh Solais to his waist, as the feeling of having its weight on his hip was the most familiar thing he felt, other than Fenrir's voice. He wore his druid robe more like a jacket and headed out the door of the old mansion. He walked through the woods easily enough and began walking toward the town centre, just to see if the post master had work for him today.
"What on earth happened to my home?" he muttered. The peace of tranquility crashed against the waves of uncertainty.

This town, it was lively. Reminiscent of his own home, Traverse Town. Kiri walked down the avenue, a quiet smile on his face as he approached the nearby store clerk, a taller man with blond hair. "Excuse me, I know this is an odd question, but has anything peculiar been happening in this town?" he asked the classic NPC. Not receiving an obvious response, Kiri thanked the man and moved on. The town didn't seem to need his help, so why did Juno ping him here? With a shrug, Kiri walked into a nearby alley.
"There's no particular reason for me to be here, I guess..." Kiri said to himself as he raised an arm. "Come! Juno! Onto the next!" A beacon of light escaped Kiri's hand, and directly in front of him, from the light, the glorious silver motorcycle with an encapsulated human head appeared. Kiri sat on Juno's comfortable seat and sighed, taking another look around. "Why was I brought here?"

Conrí walked down sidewalks, as he'd seen other people do. A few children zoomed past him on the strange wheeled board contraption. He asked one of them what the thing was called, and received a puzzled look before getting "Don't you know what a skateboard is? Humph." Conrí smiled and thanked the boy.
He committed the name to memory, and decided to hop on the one that was near him. Riding one was easy enough, and, he reasoned, it was better to show up with the means to do the work ahead of him. Conrí soon reached the post office, but saw that it was closed. He frowned slightly, and then decided to leave a note, saying that he'd be back, in case it re-opened. What to do now, Fenrir?
I'm not sure. You could probably use more practice with your skateboard. Or, perhaps, we should be doing studies on your spells.
Conrí chuckled a bit. His companion was always trying to get work done efficiently. Fenrir reminded him briefly of his dad, and that caused a bit of pain to spread through him. A fierce beam of light split the sky and caused Conrí to react. He rode his skateboard to where it had come from, and was shocked to see another bigger wheeled contraption with a strange looking head on it.
Careful. There's another one of you, it seems. Hopefully, you two humans don't get into anything too foolish.
Conrí nodded, and then cleared his throat, fighting the urge to draw Claíomh Solais from its sheath. Fenrir just told him to be careful, after all, not to start a huge fight. "Hi. I noticed the beam of light. My name is Conrí." Saying his name without his former title still felt strange to him, but, he didn't want this person glaring at him for 'thinking himself a king when he was dressed in rags' or something like that.

Blinking, Tori found herself in an unfamiliar scenery. Just now, she was looking over at the shore back home, and the second she blinked, it was as if she'd been transported to some other place.
"...Huh? Where is this" she asked, looking around, "Looks like a town..."
She began walking around, trying to find anything familiar to her, yet it wasn't easy to do so. After all, that was certainly not her home world. Knowing this, she grew a bit uneasy.
"Hey, cheer up!" A voice spoke nearby Tori. "Huh?" Tori turned to the voice, seeing a black creature wearing a white bellflower walk towards her, "...Chiseko" she said with a smile. "Yeah, long time no see, huh?" the bellflower-wearing creature spoke, "Why are you so uneasy all of the sudden? If you're worried about Sakura Island, don't worry. It's safe and sound, and the Heartless are barely doing any problems!" it said, proudly. "I'm glad..." Tori replied, kneeling down so that Chiseko could get up her shoulder, "Then that means I can take my time, right?"
Chiseko nodded, and the two began to look around the town, seeing people all over in a town lit by a neverending twilight.

Conrí stared at the strange bike, but, the rider just didn't seem to notice him. He simply started to walk past the vehicle. "I guess I'd better get back to the postmaster," he whispered, more to Fenrir than to himself, though, something in the town suddenly entered Conrí like a chill, and, he saw her, briefly. She was tall and thin, and something was on her shoulder.
The town seemed to disappear in the deep focused breaths he took. Conrí could see Fenrir slightly, and the wolf appeared to be watching his surroundings closely. "Young one," the wolf said quite clearly, "How many times do I have to tell you to not try to activate this when you're intending to move?!"
"But...I need to...go." I snapped back into reality, and started to walk after the person who'd caught my attention. I walked over toward her and said, simply, "Hi, excuse me, are you lost, too?"
What a strange town this was turning out to be.

Tori turned back, hearing someone talk to her, and finding a man standing there, looking at her. Chiseko grew wary, just in case he tried something funny with Tori.
"Uhh... No, not really" Tori replied at the man's question, "While I don't know this place, I don't mind being lost. Although..." she smirked a bit, "Looks like you're nervous about it, huh?" she asked, chuckling a bit. "Tori, I don't like this guy one bit" Chiseko said, a bit uneasy, "He's making me nervous..." "Hey, chill, Chiseko" Tori looked at the bellflower creature, "I can fend by myself, remember?"
As Tori and Chiseko talked, only Tori's voice was able to be understood. Whenever Chiseko spoke, her words would be replaced by the chime of a tinkerbell, making Tori look a bit... off.
"In any case..." Tori looked back at the man, "What's your name? I'm Tori, and she's Chiseko" she pointed at the bellflower creature.

Conrí smiled slightly. Maybe she wasn't similar to him after all. As to her comment about his being nervous, Conrí replied, "Oh, I was hoping it wasn't so...obvious."
What did you expect? You just woke up here after...whatever that was...all of a day ago.
"Fenrir," Conrí hissed under his breath. He turned his attention to the chiming creature on her shoulder. He wondered for a moment which one of them looked more insane.
"My name is Conrí. Conrí Niall." The wolf-boy bowed slightly as he spoke. "It's nice to meet you, Tori. And you, Chiseko." Conrí waved politely at the creature.
"I kind of just woke up in this place, which is why I'm nervous. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do any more." He grinned sheepishly and scratched the back of his head.

"Hmmm..." Tori thought a bit, "Nice to meet you two, I guess" she said, unconsciously, "Well... I dunno what I'm supposed to say about that... But what I did get is that you're from another world, and you ended up in this one, right?" she asked, "Huh... Well, that's kinda cool, actually." "So... You trust him that easily?" Chiseko asked, still a bit uneasy, "Well, you're the one leading, so..." "Geesh, you're so paranoid..." Tori sighed.
Tori took a good look at Conrí, from head to toe. Although his figure was human-like, something caught Tori's attention, yet she wasn't able to pinpoint what it was. Yet thinking it'd be rude to ask, she kept it to herself, maybe to ask at a later point.

Conrí's hand dropped to his side, and he relaxed a little. Cool? I mean, I guess I never thought of it as a blessing before.
Conrí, I don't know that I trust her.
More chiming entered his ears, which made Conrí chuckle a little. He wasn't sure if his theory was correct or not, and, he didn't want to be rude, so, he rested his hand on his stomach. I think that Chiseko might think like you, Fenrir. The wolf-boy felt a bit uneasy when Tori scanned him from head to toe so earnestly. It seemed as though she was trying to look through him. He felt a warmth spread through his cheeks.
"I think there's a café near here, if you're hungry, too." He patted his stomach slightly, forgetting that he should have probably arranged to run the mail around town first. "Did you come from another world, too, Tori?" Conrí's honest curiosity caused his sense of politeness to disappear a bit.

"A café, huh..." Tori thought aloud, and then smiled, "Sure. If you're inviting, why should I refuse?" she asked, amused.
Chiseko sighed, relaxing a bit seeing that Tori was happy and calm, while still keeping her guard up. In the end, Chiseko had nothing to worry about.
"Come on, let's go!" Tori said, grabbing Conrí's hand and pulling, "Or are you backing of, wolf-boy?" she asked, teasing.

Conrí started a bit when Tori grabbed his hand, but, he didn't pull away, either. He walked with her, noting that the creature on her shoulder gave out a softer chime right around the time that Fenrir made some comment in Conrí's head about making sure he had enough munny with a disgruntled huff.
The wolf-boy blushed completely as he heard her teasing tone. "Was it that obvious? I mean...uh...I hope that doesn't bother you. I wasn't trying to hide it," he said in a hushed tone.
The café they stopped at was small and not all that busy. Conrí wondered if this was due to the time of day, and then found himself thinking about how people could tell what time of day it was. The sky just looked the same to him at all times.
"How many?"
The waiter startled him out of his thoughts. "Two, please...er...Chiseko, do you drink or eat?" Conrí looked at the creature with compassion. He hoped Tori wouldn't mind translating for him.

Tori chuckled, still smiling sheepishly.
"Nope, not really" she replied, "It's not that obvious, but I just noticed your ears. They camouflage pretty well with that hair of yours, really" she teased, "Nope, I noticed the moment I saw you." "In other words, you saw his memories?" Chiseko asked, giggling a bit. "Hey, it was unintentional!" Tori defended herself, "I didn't mean to take a peek!"
Chiseko looked Conrí's way, and shook her head at his question. Being a Spirit, and especially in that form, she was unable to actually interact with many things. In fact, it was probable that the waiter himself didn't notice her. Tori, on the other hand, pulled him to a table for two, not even waiting for the waiter's reply, and sat down. She looked at Conrí with a smirk, and rested her head against one of her hands.
"So, mister wolf king..." she stared, "Where's that friend of yours? Is he unable to leave your head?"

Conrí's hand went toward his ear, but as Tori said she could tell right when she saw him, his hand dropped back to his side. He chuckled a little, but then he cocked his head slightly when Tori mentioned peeking accidentally. Chiseko was chiming at her before the girl spoke.
Conrí cleared his throat and nodded at Chiseko. "Okay. Thanks, Chiseko." He looked at the waiter and chuckled slightly at the server's expression as Tori led them to a table. Conrí eased himself into the chair across from Tori. He found himself staring at her, and looked away, not wanting to be rude. The waiter brought them water, but the wolf boy noticed that the server tsked his tongue as he did so, and wasn't too gentle when he placed the menus down on the table.
Conrí sighed when the waiter left, and picked up the water glass, only to see that Tori was staring at him. He touched the glass to his lips when he heard her words. He forced himself to drink with a level of composure. How would she know about that?
I told you to be careful. Are all humans this stupid?
Conrí shook his head slightly, both as an answer to Tori and Fenrir. "I'm not...exactly a king. I'm not sure how you know that, but, I suppose it doesn't matter. My kingdom fell due to my incompetence." He lowered the glass and picked up the menu. He probably had enough munny after all, and, he could always do a double shift after this to make up for it. "As for Fenrir, he exists in a different realm, and I can summon him out if I wanted, but, he's not like Chiseko, who's cute, so, I didn't want to scare the people here."
He smiled at Tori over the menu, before deciding on a simple coffee and soup and a sandwich. "What about you?" Conrí thought about bringing Fenrir out for a little while.
Not cute, you say? I'll remember that.
Sorry. Most humans scare easily. Do you think--
I'd advise against it.
Conrí clasped his hands together in front of him on the table. "Oh, right. Don't worry about the cost. I'll cover it."
Aw...look at you acting all kingly.
Shut up, Fenrir! Conrí took another drink of water, wondering how Tori would react to his stretches of silence.

Tori smirked, and leaned back a bit, while Chiseko jumped to the table, and began to play around, for Tori and Conrí's amusement.
"He said I'm cute... Tee hee!" Chiseko said, twirling around one of her chubby legs. "Heh... Don't get used to it..." Tori replied at Chiseko's happiness, "So far, he's the only one who's said it, right?" "Well, still means a lot!"
Tori looked back at Conrí, and chuckled a bit before explaining a few things to him.
"Well... I'm just a regular girl, really" she replied to his question, "At least, for what I know. Chiseko here always says otherwise..." she glanced at the bellflower creature, and then looked at Conrí back, "But, since I don't remember much, I can't say. Also..." she looked at the menú, "Pay for your things, and I'll pay for mine. I ain't a Hunter for nothing."

Conrí watched Chiseko dance a little and clapped softly for her when she had stopped. He chuckled slightly at the seemingly good natured back and forth between Chiseko and Tori, although he could only understand what Tori had said. He thought about bringing out Fenrir again, but, just as he seriously almost started, he caught the waiter glaring in their direction and decided against it.
He thought for a while about how to reply to her comment. "Well, for a regular girl, you intrigue me."
Are you seriously trying to get smacked, or water in your face? Has no one taught you how to...it's almost like you were raised--
Think about that carefully, Fenrir. Conrí hoped his smirk to his wolf friend wasn't too noticeable. The waiter had started making his way to their table again. The wolf boy thought about insisting he also pay for her meal, but, he simply nodded, "Fair enough, then. So it shall be." The prospect of being a Hunter interested him, but he figured he'd ask after they had ordered.
"What are we having today?"
Conrí noticed a glint in the waiter's eyes. How he was this resentful still over not picking their table astounded the would be wolf king. "The coffee, soup and sandwich special, please, sir." The boy hoped that bowing slightly would cause the waiter to soften up a bit.
"And for the lady?" The waiter bowed slightly toward Tori.

Tori smirked at Conrí's remark, and relaxed herself a bit. She then glared at the waiter, seeing that his attitude wasn't exactly... Acceptable for either of them.
"If you're gonna give a gal preferential treatment, keep it" she threatened the waiter, "I'm telling ya, it'll bring trouble later. And you don't want me in the middle of it." "Geesh, Tori, you're the one who needs to chill now..." Chiseko chuckled, sitting down. "Yeah, well... I'm not in the mood for injustice." "Just ask for something, okay?"
Tori sighed, and handed over the menú to the waiter, ordering a vanilla and strawberry parfait, and then dismissed him by waving her hand back and forth, uninterested.

The waiter openly displayed his shock at Tori's treatment of him, before bowing and sputtering. He took the menu and practically sprinted back to the back area. Conrí burst out laughing slightly louder than he meant to. Wow, she kind of holds herself like a queen.
Ughhh...how about you keep your thoughts to yourself for once? What are you doing anyway, experiencing a bout of puppy love or something? Even my brethren have more sense than you dull creatures.
Fenrir, what is your problem? Do you want me to just outright summon you, then? Conrí stopped laughing.
No, I am fine in my own realm.
Fine, then... Conrí cleared his throat and tapped a finger on the table absentmindedly. "So, the way you took care of him was amusing. What's it's like being a Hunter?" He asked, unsure of what else to talk about. "I mean, if you don't feel like answering, you can always ask me more questions if you'd rather."

Tori glanced back at Conrí, and chuckled a bit seeing the waiter leave rushing after her comment. She'd been used to better treatment, even from non-cultured people back home.
"What's it like being a Hunter, huh...?" Tori asked after Conrí directed himself towards him, "Well... Basically that. You hunt Marks, make money, and earn fame and a living. Not too hard to know, right?"
She glanced at Chiseko, who was still happily dancing around after Conrí's compliment, and chuckled a bit more. She'd been listening a bit of Conrí and Fenrir's conversation, but she didn't want to touch on that until something caught her attention.
"So, I'm holding myself like a queen, huh?" she asked, teasing, "Quite a compliment, coming from a would-be king, Conrí." "Tori, you're doing it again..." Chiseko warned her calmly, "I think it's best if you keep it... Actually, nevermind" she shook her head, "I think I know why you're doing this... You think he's worth a try, right? "Hell yeah I do" Tori replied, calmly, "Who knows? Maybe I'll remember something myself. It's worth the shot, right?" "Yep. The more you remember, the more power you'll get. So it'll be easy for you to get your memories back!"
Tori nodded, and stood up, leaning towards Conrí with a huge smile. If she wanted, she'd probably be right in his face, but, in order to keep things to a normal degree, she didn't go more than at the middle of the table.
"There's something I wanna ask you, Conrí..." Tori began to say, "You keep asking me stuff, but I really don't know much about you. So... Why don't you and that friend of yours start explaining some things?" she asked, "Like... I dunno, how your world's like, what you did there... Things like that. Easy to ask, right?"

Conrí nodded in interest as Tori summed up being a Hunter. Something about the job description seemed more fitting to him than Mail Boy. However, he didn't press the issue much, and simply watched Chiseko dance around on the table. He smiled as Tori chuckled. The wolf boy suddenly stopped watching the creature when Tori mentioned the compliment he'd thought to Fenrir. Tori and Chiseko had a bit of a back and forth, which confused him slightly, but, he assumed that he could find out more about that later.
He felt heat come to his cheeks, and, this time, he couldn't hide behind a menu or his water. He blinked for a moment, more out of fear that he'd somehow managed to upset her. "I...um..." he fell silent for a moment, but could feel the heat on his cheeks deepening. He cleared his throat and tried to compose himself. "I hope it didn't upset you, Tori. More importantly, you can read my thoughts?" Conrí asked more out of curiosity than repulsion. After all, his time training as a druid taught him that some people had such gifts. "I'm not upset," he said, extending his hand out to her for some reason.
As she leaned closer to him, Conrí found himself studying her face. Her smile glowed, and her eyes kept his attention to the point where he nearly missed what she had asked.
Conrí, one usually pays attention when they are being asked something.
Huh? I...uh...right. The wolf boy mimicked Tori's actions and also leaned closer to her. He did this so he could talk a bit more softly, since his world was still a bit of a sensitive topic for him.
Don't divulge too many secrets. Fenrir told Conrí with a half-growl half-snort.
She's worth a try. There's something about her, so, I can talk about our world a little bit. Conrí sighed a little. "Well, my world is an island. It's really green and lush there. It rains a lot. I'm next in line for the throne, but, my da's probably still mad at me." He propped his head up with his hand. "I chose a slightly different path than he intended. I still intend to be a king, but, the realm of the mystic is intriguing. We had druids," he began to explain, and then touched his cloak, "basically, people who were in tune with the magic and spirits in the realm. It was their job to protect the world no matter the cost. I trained with them."
Conrí heard the waiter clear his throat politely, "Your meals, kind guests." He set the soup and sandwich down in front of Conrí and placed the coffee next to him.
The wolf boy looked at the meal in amazement. "Thank you."
He forgot what he had been saying rather purposefully. "It looks delicious!" Conrí eagerly picked up his soup spoon, but then remembered to wait for Tori to start eating.
At least you still know how to act like a half-way decent human.
Conrí chuckled slightly.

Tori laughed, and leaned back, amused.
"I wish I could read your thoughts" she replied, "It'd make things ten times quicker. But, no. I'm not reading your thoughts, but rather... Your memories" she explained, and began to think a bit, "I dunno why or how I do it, but... I guess I just do." "You should also explain him about that, Tori" Chiseko said, stopping her little dance, "I'd make things easier to understand, right?" "Right" Tori nodded, and looked at Conrí, "So... You should know what memories are, right? I mean, it's pretty basic."
As she began explaining, the waiter left her parfait there, and she began to take slow bites every now and then as a break to grab her breath.
"Well... Creating a memory takes about... A fraction of a second. And, since, in this case, it was a fairly recent one, that memory was vivid in your heart, meaning I'd be able to see if with ease. However... With the difference of mind-reading and the like..." Tori took a bite before proceeding, "My ability doesn't allow me to see things instantly. So, for example, let's say you're thinking about something, right now" she said, "It'd take me a few seconds to know about that thought, since you'd be memorizing it in your heart. But... A few seconds is enough to throw me off-guard in, say, a fight. Meaning that, while I was trying to see that memory, you'd have an opening to attack me, if only for a few seconds" she chuckled, closing her eyes, "And a few seconds is enough to make a mistake." "Wow, that was quite the explanation... You sure he'll be able to understand it?" Chiseko asked, chuckling. "Hey, I explained it how I could" Tori replied, a bit bitter, "It's not like I can do better." "You technically could..." "What's that supposed to mean?!" "In any case... Did you pick up what he said? About his world?"
As Tori began to grow irritated by Chiseko's remarks, she missed half of Conrí's explanation, but still caught up on something. Something she found particularly useful.
"Wait... So... You're a druid?" Tori asked, confused, "And what's this about... Spirits? Can you explain a bit better? I'm not sure I follow..."
