Mink actually did get the reference, laughing along with Éirín as they neared the Marketplace. "Nah, I just know better than to screw with the timeline too much is all. Last time anyone tried that ended up really bad." They were fairly certain that they caught a glimpse of themselves heading into an alley, but paid it no mind as they continued.
Éirín's questions made Rand's thoughts race, not out of panic but simple nervousness. If Mink was truly from the future then they would know what their relationship would be like, but did he trust that so soon after meeting them? Did it even matter to him?
After a moment to collect his thoughts properly, he gave his answer. "While I'm aware that it has only been two days, I would like to consider you my girlfriend at this point. Mink seems to know what we will become, but I prefer to trust my own feelings rather than knowledge of the future. I am looking forward to meeting your brother however, as well as these others."
He squeezed her hand gently as Mink snorted ahead of them. "Yeah, you're in for a culture shock likely. Oh, you and Mom told me the story about the whole thing between you and Uncle Conrí, Aunt Éi, so if you don't tell him the whole thing I'd be happy to."

Éirín was happy to share a laugh with Mink. She nodded at the teen's comment about the timeline. As she strolled down the streets with Rand, she found herself humming a little. She let the sounds of the city goers fill the silence, but, she could feel the shift in Rand's aura and bit her lip. Clearly, he had pieced a few things together, and she wondered how much of it was on her to explain.
The wolf girl nearly opened her mouth to explain it all. She might as well, but, then Rand spoke and made her heart race. "Girlfriend," she whispered softly, before a grin broke out on her face. She elbowed Rand playfully in the ribs and smirked. "Well, at least it will be easier to explain to them." When his hand squeezed hers, she instinctively leaned into Rand. "I love you, boyfriend."
The priestess eyed Mink carefully. They carried themselves more confidently, and something about that made them more unnerving. But, Éirín could only see her snarky nibling. "I will deal with that sheepdog on my own. He has to know the truth. And, while I'm not necessarily thrilled to likely be talking to his mate as well, I am Tir Tairngirian. We do not back down from fights or challenges or hardships easily." As she finished saying this, she shot Rand a bit of a look that indicated she wanted him to try her in this regard. "That's doubly true for boyfriends. Or...husbands, but, I suppose that might be a spoiler," she whispered and winked at Rand.

As Éirín recovered from Rand calling her his girlfriend and promptly threat-told both of them not to interfere with telling Uncle Conrí anything, Mink finally saw the edge of town, and with it the base. Immediately they floated towards the hangar, speeding up and waving them on. "Come on, we're here!"
Rand's first impression was that the building was fairly unassuming, particularly given the height and regularity of the ones they had already passed. His second impression as they approached the large door and could see within the concrete shell was much more favorable. Clearly it had been built to withstand considerable forces, with foot think concrete on either side of what appeared to be at least a hands-breadth of steel. The entirety of the building was nearly fifty paces counting the large room they were headed toward, and something about it hinted at multiple floors, likely underground.
It was an impressive sight for anyone who cared to take more than a glance at it, and he couldn't help but wonder out loud as they caught up with Mink. "If this is where they live, just who are these people?"

"They're the kind of people that my brother thinks he can trust. And, given the company we have been keeping, it might be best that we see if we can extend the same courtesy to them, boyfriend." The word slipped out of her mouth easily enough, but something about it still made her hesitant. Nervousness gripped her, especially when it came to telling her brother. First, she would have to see if they could actually talk without fighting, and then, she had a lot of explaining to do.
"I just want him to be okay with everything...and, I'm afraid that our traditional ways might still be stuck in his fool brain. If that's the case, we will have to fight." The wolf girl looked at Rand, tears in her eyes. "Custom says I should have died, so, if he chooses to fight me, it will be to the death, and, this is something I must face alone. Though, something tells me he's too confused to want to stick to the old ways right now."
The priestess looked at Mink. "Nibling, I know that you know the outcome, but, I do not wish to know, so, no spoilers, okay? Rand, my sweet boyfriend, I must face him on my own at first." Nodding, she stepped forward to enter the base. She could be brave. She had to be, because she had no choice. Not when everything was on the line.
