Law crossed his arms, grinning at Charlotte as she agreed hastily to the battle plans. It seemed she was anxious to get the task over with—not that Law could blame her. He himself was excited to get on with his new immortal life of crime and luxury, after all. Ah…the first place I’ll go— Suddenly, Mei’s voice caught the pirate out of his daydreaming. ”You…Want me to go along?” It seemed the girl was confused for some reason about his battle plan. Hm…I guess they’re both a bit younger…did I explain it well enough? It couldn’t be that—whatever the case was with Neku, Law pegged Mei as a smart one.
As the two younger friends bantered back and forth, Law rolled his eyes a bit as he turned to look towards the direction they were heading in. The skies were growing darker, the swirling clouds now simply a mass of grey, swelling with potential downpour. Law grimaced. He hated rainy storms. Maybe it was because of that one night—but they just didn’t sit well with him. Before he could think much more on the matter, Neku had pulled him in, surprising the spaced out pirate, who shouted out and swatted his hand away. Upon hearing Neku’s threats, Law barked out a laugh, straightening himself as he rubbed his finger beneath his nose, almost as though he were about to tear up.
”Ah~ I get it, I get it~ Don’t worry so much, Neku! You're underestimating her! Show some respect~” Law winked at Neku, definitely taking the wrong idea from the exchange, most likely. Ah…young love. Even a pirate can find it heart-warming. Er—did he still have a heart? How did that work? Well—best not to dwell on it! One step in front of the other, and all that. Raising a finger to continue his teasing of Neku and Mei, a sudden gust of darkness filled the air. A familiar whoosh sound broke the coming storm as the Heartless emerged. The clouds above had stagnated, forming one mass of black that seemed to shout of impending doom.
There were countless Air Pirate’s and Rapid Thruster’s now surrounding The Harpy, Cannon Gun’s and Tornado Step’s littering the deck. Immediately Law’s gun blade was in his hand as his face twisted in fury. ”GET OFF MY SHIP!” He hated the Heartless. They always just popped up at the worst of times. Firing off a couple shots at the nearest air enemies, Law ran towards the raised platform of the Pilot’s Deck. ”Neku, Mei, cover the deck! Charlotte, you know what to do!” They had all fought enough Heartless together to know their usual formation. Even if Mei was a newer member to the team, Neku and her had battled together many times, as Law had seen with his own eyes at the shore.
While Neku and Mei covered the deck, Charlotte would take to the skies, Law supporting her with his magic and gunfire. Releasing a Thundara spell upon the Heartless nearest the stairs, rushing forward with all his might. Though the spell sent some of the smaller Heartless back into the abyss, it only stunned the larger ones. The pirate hoped he would make it to the steering wheel before them! Wait—can they even drive this thing? They had hands…but should he really be concerned about it? For a moment, his running slowed. No! Wait! It’s about the principal of the thing, damn it—! That’s right! A Captain couldn’t let filthy Heartless touch his ship!
Law's pace picked back up as he reached the foot of the stairs, hoping his spell had given Charlotte enough cover until he reached the Pilot's Deck. The Cannon Gun's on deck began to locate the nearest targets, two aiming for Neku while one aimed for Charlotte. The last two aimed for Mei, the large targets flying across the wooden deck beneath all three party members feet. While the Cannon Gun's worked, the Tornado Steps came forward, spinning their strong arms in powerful twirls while the Air Pirate's swooped down to begin their assault on the four. It seemed for the most part, Law's spell only hurt the Air Pirate's, though all of the Rapid Thrusters were momentarily stunned.

Charlotte would also watch the exchange between Neku and Mei with interest. She smirked and likewise getting the wrong idea if anything. This would be an interesting story to write, a thought that hadn't entered her mind for awhile now since she found herself someplace different. On that note, she'd mentally consider a book about her own situation and how a dashing pirate captain would take her out on his adventures- maybe she'd leave out the part about turning into a ghoul. That still wasn't a visual she enjoyed- simply because she liked her men with skin and muscle.
And then the entire mood was murdered by the sudden sense of sudden doom they were approaching.Well, so much for indulging her creative muse. Now it was time to indulge the less civilized nature of her heritage, and of sentient life in general. She REALLY hated having to deal with heartless, she thought with a sigh as she sprouted her wings and took to the air. Shadelings had already flittered away and were already flying toward their next meals.
Stunned Rapid Thrusters were englufed in a cloud of Shadelings hungry for their essence while Charlotte concentrated on dealing with the Air Pirates for the moment. Conjuring up her hellish fireballs and lobbing them at them before they got too close to the ship, taking out some before diving down and luring the others away from the others- and completely keeping out of range of the cannons as a ribbon of white/blue light erupted from... she couldn't tell which of the ship's guns that was. But she wouldn't complain as it lanced through the remaining Air Pirates chasing her. Flying back up to the deck, she cast one of her water spells, infusing it with her own darnkness, and swooped down to swipe at as many of the tornado steps as she could with a blackened liquid whip.

Neku froze in place, red as a tomato. Law had just said all of it aloud. Was he an idiot? Mei's chuckle only worsened his mood, flustered to no end.
"Dammit you're not s'pposed to SAY it!" Neku yelled.
Although the Heartless were rather quick to ruin the mood, Neku was still red like never before, flustered after the mess Law had made. With all that anger inside, Neku just wanted to vent a bit. He guessed that, in that sense, Heartless had the perfect timing.
Mei was quick to grab her rapier, readying herself for yet another fight. She'd managed to hold on until then, so her guess was that another battle wouldn't hurt whatsoever. Hearing Law's orders just made it easier for them to coordinate their moves. Neku just went all out with the grounded enemies, focusing primarily on the Tornado Steps, while Mei readied herself to help everyone out with her support.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Law’s boots pounded against the wooden deck of the airship, matching in rhythm with his heartbeat (did he have a heart? How did that work, again?). Once the steering wheel to the ship was in sight, no Heartless having touched it yet, Law gave a sigh of relief. Glancing over his shoulder, the pirate felt a surge of pride and admiration as Charlotte soared through the air, shredding through the Heartless with her powerful magic—per usual. ”You really are an incredible woman—Charlotte!” He encouraged her. Seeing her fight like that just motivated him. She truly showed herself reliable when it came down to it.
”Dammit, you’re not s’pposed to SAY it!” Neku’s yell rang over the sound of Charlotte’s attacks and the shadelings swooping down upon the Heartless as the young mercenary began to take care of the other grounded enemies. ”Ha ha ha! It’s not like you to be bashful, lad!” His tone full of merry and camaraderie, Law released another spray of bullets upon some of the Rapid Thrusters that had started to regain themselves. BRRRRRAAAAAAT! What few remained from Charlotte’s assault were weakened and pitiful at best. While the hellish woman began to dive around The Harpy, luring away the Air Pirates, loud BANGS! cracked through the night, booming like thunder.
The 5 Cannon Gun Heartless had released their attack. Powerful dark infused cannon fire launched through the sky, illuminating the flying ship in a spray of sparks as they honed in on their targets. Soaring through the air, Charlotte managed to avoid the two blasts intended for her. Mei and Neku, fighting in the middle of the ship deck, were caught up in an explosion of three consecutive shots. Having just managed to reach the steering wheel, Law’s blue eyes widened as he witnessed the attack. ”You chumps better not die on me!” Was that a hint of panic in his voice?
Since when did he care about a couple of brats? Weren’t they just free labor? It seemed his ‘heart’ was having a conflict of morals, but that wouldn’t do at the moment. Those Cannons won’t do—! There was a fury in his movements as the undead pinpointed the location of the Cannon Gun Heartless. ”I can’t believe I’m about to use this—!” On pitiful guys like these? Pathetic. Unleashing the hidden ‘auto’ feature of his gun blade, Law brandished the long pistol weapon, a loud BRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAPPPPP filling the air, almost as though fireworks were erupting. Using his Barrage ability, an impossible amount of bullets fired from the weapon. Spraying the countless Shadelings and Heartless surrounding the air and deck, Law’s face twisted into one of frustration.
He hadn’t intended to reveal such a trick against mere Heartless. The Cannon Gun’s power had surprised him. Though many of the Rapid Thrusters were destroyed, only three of the cannon Heartless were killed. While the remaining ground Heartless leapt towards Neku and Mei, supported by the Rapid Thrusters that remained, the few Air Soldiers left continued to swoop and dive at Charlotte. The Cannon Gun's seemed to have moved closer towards the Pilot’s Deck. That was when Law’s eyes fell on the small marks flying towards him across the wooden planks of The Harpy. T-those bastards—! They were gonna blow up the whole deck?! He had to get off of the platform, quick! Without really thinking about what he was doing, Law quickly leapt from the steering wheel, after flicking a few switches to determine the autopilot feature was still functioning, stepping onto the raised railing that lined the ship.
Swaying only slightly, Law had both hands out at his sides, his gunblade steady in his right hand as he began to quickly run on the ship's railing toward the bow. There was a mischievous grin on his lips as a jovial laugh escaped him. He truly felt alive during moments like these! Already, the marks of the Cannon Guns were moving across the deck, down from the stairs of the Pilot's Deck to the main one. Swooping across the floorboards, they began making their way towards Neku and Mei, darting around the floor at random. It seemed they hadn't found targets—yet.

Charlotte would stay on the move to avoid becoming an easy target for the airborne heartless, using as much of the area around her to her as much time as she needed before casting another barrage of fireballs at her pursuers. Shadelings briefly scattered once Law started shooting them and some of the heartless they were munching on. But they'd regroup and continue going after tasty morsels as more seemed to be emerging from somewhere. Something was definitely not right about this, Charlotte was sure that cursed or not, the odds that Shadelings would just "appear" off world was just too strange.
Unfortunately she couldn't entertain this thought much because she was flying around for her life whilst removing pesky Heartless. And she would be grateful that any help against the heartless at this point- less chances of her ruining her clothes or something.

Neku was too slow to move after taking care of most Tornado Steps. He couldn't make his move back to Mei as the Cannon Steps shot away. The young girl was caught off-guard, unable to block most of the incoming cannon balls. Thankfully she was still there, albeit badly injured.
"MEI!" Neku shouted as loud as he could. "Guh..." Mei winced, shaking her head, "They're..." "Don't give up..."
Mei froze in place. A voice so familiar to her, one she had wanted to hear for so long... Tori. But why? How? And where? It was a mere echo, but it sounded so close...
"Tori...?" "Mei!" Neku shouted, running to her side, "You alright?! Are you hurt?!" "..." "Come on! Are you okay?!" "...I'm fine. I can keep going" Mei nodded, "I'm sorry to worry you..."
Mei stood up, as Neku decided to guard her from any new attacks, holding his blade firmly. A swirl of grey mist gathered around Mei, waking up to her power. She chanted a Curaja spell to everyone, making sure they were all good to go.
"Let's keep up!" she shouted, trying to keep morale high.

While Charlotte continued to keep the majority of the air Heartless busy, swooping through the air while unleashing her magic, Law had finally almost reached Mei and Neku. Though Neku had seemed to avoid the cannon fire from before, Mei had received a direct hit. The mere sight had caused a cold fury to take over him as he ran along the side railing of The Harpy, planning to heal the girl with a spell. Before he could manage, Mei healed not only herself but everyone on the ship with her magic. As the green light surrounded Law, petals of magic fluttering through the air as flowers bloomed above him, the pirate’s steps had halted. His blue eyes fell on the girl, his mouth slightly agape as his face revealed an expression of baffled awe. J-just what i-is…this girl—? Though she had taken a powerful hit, she had thought of not only herself but the team’s health in a moment of crisis.
It was commendable. No. Admirable. No! Awe-Inspiring! How the youth shine—! A new fervor in his steps, Law leapt from the side railing onto the main deck, flipping his weapon to cause it to unfold, brandishing a long curved one sided blade. Twirling his sword menacingly, Law’s voice rang over the raging winds and the swirling clouds above. ”YES, Mei! You have the qualities of a budding Captain!” After a hearty laugh and smile towards the girl, Law’s face suddenly twisted into one of fury and bloodlust as he gazed at the Heartless. ”—!” He was too angry for words as he lunged forward, using his Slapshot ability on the remaining Tornado Steps that leapt around the two younger fighters, vanquishing them with his furious combo.
While Charlotte soared through the air, the remaining Air Pirates and Rapid Thrusters were quickly dwindling down, unable to keep up with the woman’s speed and power. Soon, all the flying Heartless were vanquished, leaving Charlotte in peace in the sky. Perhaps she would notice the clouds above massing together even more, the winds raging and thunder began to boom in the sky ahead. On the deck of the ship, while Law vanquished the Tornado Steps, the Cannon Guns had finally found their target. One mark had pinpointed the pirate himself, the other pinpointing Neku. BANG! BANG! The two Heartless fired. Having just finished attacking, Law shouted out in surprise as he realized he was left wide open as his blue eyes caught the cannon hurling at him.
”AERORA!” A sudden gale of wind surrounded Neku, pushing him back into Mei and away from the area as the attack exploded into the deck of the ship. The Aerora spell wouldn’t only move the two out of harms way, but also provide a barrier around Neku, the main target. BANG! CRASH! Wood splintered as Law disappeared, engulfed in the flaming explosion as the ship rocked in the sky. The two remaining Heartless were already leaping towards the bow of the ship, their markings beginning to fly across the floorboards of the airship once more, searching for more targets.
If Neku and Mei didn’t collect themselves and respond, they wound soon find themselves on the receiving end of the same attack that had just gotten Law.

Charlotte was not a fan of this "game" of tag she was playing with The Heartless. It wasn't like they had any minds to mess with so there wasn't any satisfaction. It was just required to keep from getting hit until she eventually outlasted them and could enjoy a moment of peace. She was watching the battle back on the ship before casting her gaze at her surroundings before noticing the dark clouds massing together. There better not be a heartless dragon about to shoot through those clouds or she was really going to let someone have a piece of her mind.
Speaking of giving someone a piece, as another shot rang off with a ribbon of light shooting up from part of the ship and snapping itself toward the last 2 heartless on the ship. Like all the other times, the ribbon went about piercing it's way through the pair before dissipating back into the ether from whence it came.

Both teens were caught off guard by Law's Aerora, tossing them out of harm's way and avoiding the cannonballs altogether. While it was a somewhat comical scenery -Neku had fallen on top of Mei, and the two were on the ground recovering their better judgement- there was no time for laughter. Neku was quick to stand back up, a bit flustered because of the scene, his eyes scanning for the captain of the Harpy, but he was nowhere in sight. Where had he gone?!
"Oi, Law!" Neku called for him. "Neku!"
Mei's shout brought the boy back to his senses. Two Cannon Guns remained. Frustrated and bitter, Neku held his sword firmly, and leapt with the help of a fairly large jump, his sword hoisted to his shoulder. With brute strength, he slammed the sword to the ground in between the two Cannon Guns, his expression cold and merciless. His Downstrike aimed to either defeat the Cannon Balls altogether, or at least separate them and daze them, leaving Mei an opportunity to finish them off, as she readied her Eternal Light ability by the end of her rapier.
After the battle was over, the two were going to see if Law was alright or not. They weren't going to leave without knowing what had happened to him.
...Even if the curse had indeed affected him, but that was already not their concern.

Charlotte’s ribbon sliced through the air, piercing the two Cannon Gun Heartless in place on the deck as they squirmed and writhed in futile attempts at freedom. While pinned, they were defenseless against Neku’s crushing attack, pummeling them into oblivion. It seemed all the enemies had been defeated, as smoke and dust cleared from the billowing winds from the deck of the airship. ”Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha!” A loud guffaw filled the night sky, slightly odd against the foreboding swirling clouds above and the gathering winds hollowing over the now smoldering and damaged ship. ”I can’t believe it!” With most of the smoke and debris cleared from view, a single silhouette could be seen standing amidst the remains of battle.
”This curse f&%$ing RULES!” Law emerged from the smoke, horrid wounds littering his bodies already beginning to heal and reform as his flesh and clothing were restored good as new. Running a ringed hand through his dirty blonde hair, the pirate lifted his chin to feel the rushing breeze passing through him. He was alive. Despite having taken that direct hit, shredding away parts of his body. Sure—perhaps the wounds hadn’t been fatal, as Cure magic was astounding—but the pirate hadn’t even required the spell to begin with. Looking down at his hands, his overall appearance normal and human, he almost forgot about the downsides of this ‘Aztec Curse’.
Shrugging a bit, dusting himself off, Law grinned at his crew with an earnest look in his eyes. ”Oh—sorry, were you worried?” With a playful grin he pointed out at Neku, winking at the young merc. ”Seems like you got a heart of gold after all!” He laughed at his own joke, clearly in high spirits before glancing around the airship. A small scowl formed on his face as the pirate kicked at the deck with his boot. ”Damned Heartless! Just look at my ship!” There were a few holes that littered the deck, splintered wood and floorboards swept about chaotically across the ship.
One of the side railing’s had a chunk missing, too. Grabbing at his hair, the pirate hung his head and shook it as he groaned. ”Argh! Just how am I supposed to fight the Captain with my ship like this?!” He’d have to make sure the cannons were still fully functional. Hopefully it was just surface damage. Still, his pride as a pilot was hurt. Any wounds to his ship were wounds to himself—and The Harpy’s wounds didn’t magically heal themselves. With a look of dejection on his face, Law waved a hand absently at his team. ”Sigh—I guess for now, I’ll make sure our weapons are okay.” He glanced dismally towards the deck. ”Tch—no fixing that anytime soon.”
Why did this have to happen on the way to the freaking boss fight? Law’s good mood had immediately turned sour. Walking across the ship, the pirate went below to inspect the status of the cannons and other equipment they would need for the fight ahead. The Harpy, still on autopilot, continued its course towards the island. Still, nothing remained in the distance. Below them was the raging sea, hungry for any unseasoned travelers, with nothing but the flat horizon on the distance.
The clouds continued to mass together as thunder boomed closer in the distance. The faint light of it could be seen from the deck of the airship.

Things seemed to be calming down, as Mei and Neku finished off the last ones on the deck while Law just seemingly exploded out of nowhere. Curse be damned, if he had somehow died after dragging her out all this way- she was gonna kill him. Charlotte hurriedly flew back down to the ship, hearing Law laugh as he emerged from the smoke. Her irritation was very evident as he nonchalantly brushed off their collective concern. She was fuming now! First he ropes her into this whole mess from the very start. Then he triggers the bloody end of the world or something where it rains and storms constantly with Heartless appearing like a horde of Orcs- she had NEVER had to fight for such a long period of time before in her life. Then he becomes a bloody ghoul from the aforementioned end o the world. AND NOW HE WAS TREATING THIS AS AN EVERYDAY OCCURENCE?
Charlotte had by the time of finishing this line of thinking walked right up to Law, and to the surprise (or perhaps TO the surprise) of everyone just smacked him across the face. This was followed by vigorous shaking. "Don't you act like nothing just happened you! Just because you think you're some damned immortal doesn't mean you actually are! We WERE worried you... you!" Charlotte either had run out of things to yell at him or had realized that she was totally embarressing herself. So she just growled something and turne don her heels, heading below deck to cool off with her tail swishing angrily behind her.

Silence.
Both Neku and Mei were somewhat slow to notice what had happened. Law was... Fine. Sure, it wasn't exactly a pleasant view, but he was alive, and that was the important part. Although the reaction from said truth was...
"..." Neku blinked a few times, slowly but surely starting to boil up, "You... You...!" he groaned, with a bitter smile. "You know, Law... Even if you are immortal, you're not exactly able to predict when you'll be vulnerable again..." Mei sighed with worry, "Had it been clear during the fight, what would've happened?" "Oh, trust me, I'll see to it sooner than later, Mei" Neku finished in a bitter thought, "He ain't gettin' unscathed. Not on my watch, he won't."
Neku then made his way towards Law, and then, taking a small leap to stay above him, he smacked him. Or, rather, tried to.
Even if he didn't hit, Neku was going to stick to his word: if Law kept making reckless stunts like that, then the young man would make sure he knew what came with it.

Before he was able to make his way to the repairs, Charlotte had suddenly come across the deck—SLAP! For a moment, the pirate blinked, dumbstruck as his face reddened with the woman’s handprint. ”Don’t you act like nothing just happened you!” As she began, he had only just registered what happened. C-Charlotte? It seemed his stunt earlier caused her some grief, leaving Law with a bitter taste in his mouth. As she stormed off, quick as she arrived, the pirate simply rubbed his cheek, looking after her. ”Damn…” Well, that dampened his mood even more. It seemed his recklessness had really not gone over well. Tch! It’s not like I was thinking of the curse—! When he had seen Mei and Neku about to take another cannon attack, his body just moved, it had only been afterwards that he had realized the power he now held. If that's what she was mad about, he couldn't help it. He was a pirate, after all, he was bound to be reckless, right?
”You…you…!” Neku’s groan caused the pirate to lose his train of thought. Glancing over at his two younger companions, Law lifted his brows at Neku as Mei chimed in. ”You know, Law…even if you are immortal, you’re not exactly able to predict when you’ll be vulnerable again…” It was a slightly humiliating moment, being chastised by a girl seemingly much younger than him. Law glanced away, looking towards the sky—rumbling with heavy dark clouds, almost pitch black above them, the pirate heard the faintest sound of rumbling thunder. She’s right…the moon is my true enemy now— Though Neku and Mei were still talking, Law couldn’t pull his gaze from the sky. I’m immortal so long as the moon doesn’t shine on me… The hell was with that? Weren’t most immortal creatures supposed to live under the moonlight? Wasn’t the Sun iconically the trope for being the ‘enemy’ of immortal creatures? Zombies, Vampires, Undead, all of them perished in sunlight—why was he perishing in the moonlight?
SMACK! A swift cuff brought Law out of his thoughts—the other side of his face now reddening as well. Shouting out in surprise, the pirate took a step back from Neku. When did he get so close?! The look in the kid’s eyes surprised Law. There was genuine concern in them—y’know, past the blazing anger of a fiery youth. W-was he really that worried…? For a moment, Law actually felt kind of bad. He hadn’t expected Neku of all people to really get worked up over his safety. Glancing back at Mei, the pirate coughed a bit awkwardly before rubbing the back of his neck. ”Er—sorry…” He looked at Neku with a bit of contempt. ”…to both of ya.” Luckily the hits were small prices to pay—the curse had already made the pain and possible bruise a thing of the past. Life really was better when the moon wasn’t out for him now. With a sigh, the pirate rested his hands on his hips, giving Mei a serious look.
”You’re right, lass—I did actually forget about this curse’s weakness.” His blue eyes fell back up towards the sky, the faint rumbling thunder now a temperate growl. Faint light flashed far past the heavy dark clouds, merely outlining them rather than shining through. ”We’re close.” It was time to move. Looking around at the repairs he had to do, Law felt a bit faint of heart. Whatever. Did he even have a heart anymore? How did that work? He had to of, since he saw other cursed pirate’s lose their hearts to the demons. ”I gotta fix The Harpy—“ Glancing back at Neku and Mei, Law pointed to where Charlotte had exited the deck, leading to the hull below which provided safe lodging. ”You two go downstairs. Sleep, eat—do whatever you need to before we get to that damned island.” He ended his suggestion with a growl, turning to begin his work.
It seemed he wasn’t excited to be nearing their goal.

Charlotte had returned to where "her" room was, pacing around restlessly. He had that coming, really. It wasn't like her to get so worked up over men- much less someone she hadn't spent very much time with either. It wasn't cold so much as rational, the world had it's fair share of good and bad. Multiply that on what may be an infinite scale, and anyone would get a headache. Did she actually care? Well clearly she did to some degree based on how she blew up and slapped Law but that sentiment may have been shared among the others. So maybe it was just a normal response, and totally not anything else. Because as she had already mused, she liked her men with skin- unless she just totally ruled out moonlit dinners. Wait, that was a leap to be making right now!
Shadelings would once again find their little perches, keeping out of the way as they waited for their next meals to fly in...

The teens heeded Law's suggestion. Both of them were tired and needed a break. No matter how well trained they were, they still had human bodies. Unlike a certain someone.
Neku was quick to toss himself to his bunk bed, letting out a long sigh. Mei simply sat by in the floor, looking at him with caring eyes.
"Man, that was one hell of a workout!" Neku shouted, looking at the ceiling, "Never have I fought like that!" "That so...?" Mei asked, giggling, "Well, being honest... It was a different sort of battle..." "...And I'm glad you're here with me..."
Mei noticeably flinched, and Neku smiled sheepishly. After all, if there was one thing he was happy for, was to see Mei again, after having missed her for so long. Even if that body of hers was an Illusion, it was still the real her. That alone was enough.
"N-Neku..." "What?" Neku chuckled, "Sorry if what I said sounded cheesy, but... Had to say it. ...Now we're just missing Tori, and we're good to go back home! There's gotta be a way to get back!" "..." Mei looked sullen, "But... I'm not..." "I know -this isn't your real body, right? ...I'm sure that we'll figure it out together" Neku said, confident, "And even if we don't find anything of the sort, Tori surely knows something. Heck, even Miss Sakura's research could help, right?! You two were helping her with it, weren't you?" "You're... You might be onto something..." Mei looked shocked, but then smiled, "Sheesh... Sometimes, you get too optimistic." "Can't exactly be all dark 'n' gloomy, though."

Beginning to howl, the wind raged on as finally the storm seemed to surround The Harpy. Massive black clouds turned and twisted in the sky, rumbling with the spark of thunder as faint echoes sliced through the darkness. There was no moonlight, no stars. Everything was black, save for the momentary light of the thunder. Thud! Thud! Thud! Rain had begun to pour down, soaking the wooden deck as it did its best to shield its patrons and inventory below. Bang! Bang! Bang! A faint hammering could be heard over the din of the weather as Law worked beneath the rain, finishing up some minor repairs. He hadn’t been given much time before the weather turned sour.
We’re getting close… Despite the shaking and lurching of the airship, fighting against the raging winds and heavy rain tirelessly, Law had managed to board up all of the holes in the deck. Now thoroughly soaked to the bone, though he didn’t feel the chill whatsoever, Law had managed to finish roping off the gaps in the railings on deck—creating a temporary border so his crew wouldn’t fall overboard. ”Damned storm!” Wiping the dirty blonde hair from his eyes, the pirate grumbled to himself as he hauled the remaining scrap wood and metal down with him below deck.
Bang! Crash! Thump! Arranging the assorted parts in a heap beneath the stairs leading down, Law removed his soaking wet pilot’s jacket—though it did little good, as his shirt and pants were still wet all the way through. Splash! Splish! The pirate grimaced as he felt the water squish in his boots. ”I f*&$ing hate the rain…” Hanging the jacket up on the railing of the stairs, the pirate clutched his tools as he staggered over towards the cannons. He still had to make sure they were operable—they couldn’t be without any firepower for the fight ahead. Grimacing as he continued his work, allowing the airship’s autopilot to continue their course, Law began to inspect and repair the cannons.
He’d be unaware of the gathering Shadelings that now perched above, despite the raging weather, or the swirling mass of darkness far off in the distance—a faint outline among the clouds, shimmering in a faint purple light.

"You've caused problems for everyone," a familiar, icy voice would state more than scold Law. The shadelings nudging against one another in an attempt at finding room, watching Law work with... curiosity? Hunger? He WAS cursed after all, and if their ability to feed on the heartless were any indication, they'd probably be able to make a meal of him. "I suspect you'll keep on going as you are after they leave- regardless of how Charlotte might feel- do you believe she will stay after this?" The voice continued.
Charlotte by this time would've finally made it to try and sleep. Albeit, she was even in her dreams restless as... there was something tugging at her attention. It was a familiar presence but whenever she tried to focus on it, it would quickly slip away and hide from her as if it was trying to avoid being detected.

After a bit of a talk, Mei fell asleep, although one could only guess why. Neku then decided to take a walk, and maybe keep Law some company. The sound of rain was awfully strong outside, making him wonder just how bad things had become. However... The prospect of a fight certainly appealed. A rematch, really.
"Sorry if ya expected me to fall asleep" he greeted the pirate as he walked on deck, "Can't exactly cope, with all the expectation runnin' loose."
Yep, the rain was rampant. Groaning a bit, Neku pulled over his hood, although not really lessening the damage, as he was already half-way soaked. Smirking with glee, he approached Law calmly, despite the somewhat annoyance he had a few minutes ago. It wasn't as if he'd forgotten, though -he was just in a good mood.
"Damn... It's hella rainy... More than before, for sure..." he mentioned, somewhat bitter. He then noticed what Law had been doing, a bit caught aback, "Uhh... You need help, or anythin'?"
Neku walked a bit closer towards him, without any sort of second intentions, in case Law himself got suspicious. ALthough... He was a pirate. Wasn't that stated pretty strongly already?

Drip. Drip. Drip.
A small puddle had formed around the sitting pirate, hunched over one of the two cannons resting below deck. Perched on one knee, Law had managed to repair one of the weapons, beginning his work on the second. ”You’ve caused problems for everyone,” A sudden voice caused Law to lurch, losing focus of what he was doing. Clang! His tools fell to the floor. ”I suspect you’ll keep on going as you are after they leave—regardless of how Charlotte might feel—do you believe she will stay after this?“ Despite being cursed and unable to feel temperature, a chill lurched down Law’s spine, causing him to jolt upright to his feet.
Spinning around, Law blinked in surprise, his hand hovering over his holstered gunblade. In front of him was Neku, giving him a peculiar look as he asked ”Uhh…you need help, or anythin’?” There was a slight pause to Law’s manner as his hand fell away from the weapon on his thigh. ”N-Neku?!” Taking a step forward, the pirate swooped the tools from the floor, waving them in front of him as though wagging a finger. ”I'll blow yer freakin' head off! Sneakin' up on me like that!” For a second, recognition flashed across the pirate’s face. Wait… He had heard that same voice somewhere…it hadn't been Neku’s.
Drawing his gun, Law immediately reached a hand out to pull Neku down behind the cannon with him. ”Oi! Did ya see anyone else down here?!” Law kept his voice low as his finger rested on his weapons trigger. ”There was a voice, just a second ago…” Glancing around the hull, Law peered around the cannon he had crouched behind. Shit…where have I heard that voice before?! Despite how certain he was he had heard someone, other than Neku and himself the hull was empty. The voice no longer was heard, either. Strax and Charlotte rested in the small rooms beyond the direct room—there was no where else down here.
”The hell’s going on…?” Muttering mostly to himself, there was a paranoid look in the pirates eyes as he wracked his brain to remember.

"The hell is going on is right" Strax spoke, stepping into the room with Law and Neku. "What have I missed? How long was I out? Where are we?" Strax stepped into the dim lighting, in his human form, still wearing his bandages and holding his side. Despite the incredible amount of time he had to heal, he was still sore. "What happened to the Heartless Captain? Did you kill it? Is everyone safe from harm? Where is Charlotte?" Strax's eyes glowed dimly as the urgency and worry was apparent in his voice. As he stepped closer he leaned heavily on the nearest object, to take some strain off of himself.
