There was the shrill shriek of a firework as it raced up into the sky, going off above the imperial city. Startling awake someone who was as far from home as he could be. And he was also someone who stuck out like a sore thumb... that was glowing brighter than the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. Perhaps that was an exaggeration. In any case Ruz was startled awake, forcing him into a defensive stance as all of his senses were overwhelmed. Every time a fire work went off, he'd duck down and also recoil, only to immediately recoil from the building he bumped into. Had there been modern conveniences like trash cans, he'd have made a total mess of those like a panicked wild animal. Quickly dismissing his immediate surroundings as safe, he could turn his attention to the sky which periodically exploded with fire. What was this? Attack? Magic? The end of the world The Shaman was warning them about? Where was he? What happened to the green? Ruz' mind was going faster than a Lizardman would be given credit for with questions and little answers. The ground was hard and unyielding stone, paved. Not natural, artificial. MAN made. Buildings whose design was completely alien to him surrounded him. He was in a city. But how did he end up so far from Jungle? Ruz had also in his panic, triggered his Lurk on reflex. Sky exploding aside, he was not in immediate danger. Dismissing his axes, he looked up at the buildings around him. Seemed easy enough for him to climb up, so he did. Once he was on the roof, still obscured from sight with his Lurk, Ruz surveyed a big and open square. It was FULL of soft-skins dressed funny. Before you ask, he doesn't have a name for them apart from what his people refer anything not a lizardman as- meat. He started to move across the rooftops, Lurking his way down for a closer look of what was going on. It appeared to be... some kind of... feast? He smelled food in the air, and saw soft skins handing out plates or bowls from wooden constructions. The sky exploding... still baffled him. But he did see that they seemed to be coming from different parts of the city before going off in the sky above. Were the soft skins attacking the sky? They really WERE as stupid as they looked. But the smell of food was making him salivate, rousing his primal instincts. He didn't recognize most of the smells. But his sudden hunger made it impossible for him to think further on that as he scurried down and charged toward the stalls. Because he was still Lurking, it would look to a casual observer as people were suddenly being pushed or knocked aside by... something. But a sharp eye would notice that there was a translucent something plowing it's way through. And then he revealed himself! Immediately attacking one of the stalls in a feeding frenzy, grabbing whatever he could and shoveling it in to his maw as people all around him started to scream. Panic quickly spread as an alarm went off and people screamed "MONSTER!" Ruz didn't care. None of the soft skins were armed- and were all inferior to him. So he saw no reason to concern himself with what they did as he quickly cleaned out the wares of the stall. Then he moved onto the next one before Imperial Soldiers finally started flooding the main square. Ruz paused mid slurp, surrounded on all sides as he stared down the soft skins in front of him. He considered them for a moment, and then quickly started to shovel food back in his maw as the soldiers charged him! This was probably not going to end well- for them. The first one stabbed with a pole-arm, to which Ruz sidestepped and quickly broke with his jaws crunching the shaft. And then he spun around and thwacked the soldier back into his friends with his tail, turning his sights on the next soldier. This one had a bladed pole-arm. He pulled back slightly and then lounged forward, headbutting the soldier before taking his weapon and spinning wildly around with it. This gave the soldiers a moment of pause before he let it go flying into the crowd, quickly drawing his weapons with a reptilian roar. Some of the soldiers froze, and they were the first ones he went after. Throwing one of his axes into one, he suddenly reappeared- seemingly blinking to it as he ripped the ax out and kicked off from the soldier. Diving into the back lines, he lounged forward with a series of corkscrews to plow through to the other side of them. Despite what you may have been thinking, Ruz had no intention of fighting an entire army head on. But he also had no intention of running with his tail between his legs. He threw his ax, aiming for the closest soldier with it before it spun back around and returned to him.The soldiers moved in, more cautiously now as MORE soldiers started to flood the street. Ones on horse back, and archers. Those would be problematic at this range. Then he seemingly faded from sight, leaping back as some of the soldiers started to jab or swing at the area where he was. Ruz scurried by, one soldier spotting a shape move and calling it out. But Ruz had enough time to pull a soldier on horse back from his horse, taking it as his own. But The Horse wasn't having any of it and started to buck wildly. Stupid meat! An arrow catches him in the shoulder, forcing a reptilian hiss from him as he hops off and... throws the horse at the soldiers trying to circle around him. Ruz went back on the move, trying to slip into the city where the archers couldn't see him. It was kind of funny, seeing the brightly colored "feathers" of the arrow seemingly floating quickly away as arrows rained down and pelted Ruz a few more times.

Law had just finished camouflaging his airship, The Harpy, in many of this worlds lush and distinct green flora. Nighttime had fallen by the time he had finished. He had landed in a deep bamboo thicket where a nearby encampment was visible. Past the encampment was a large city of sorts, walled off with tall concrete in a gigantic square. From the clearing he had anchored in, Law could see the smoke rising from the city as he was sure many feasted and danced, as fireworks were erupting into the sky as though there were a celebration. "Perfect timing, I suppose." It wasn't a bad way to arrive, in the middle of revelry.
Wandering through the bamboo thickets and across a vast plain that led to the city, Law finally arrived with a freshly earned appetite. The gates weren't guarded at all, the only sentry on watch having already slumped against the wall asleep in a drunken stupor. The pirate was thankful for the boon as he swiped the guards munny purse as he entered the large city. The lanterns shone brightly in the night as many citizens danced throughout the entire city on its floor paved in smooth stone. The entire city was paved, it seemed like, though other technologies weren't apparent. There were no cars, no planes, the sky pirate hadn't even seen lights yet. Hm... it seems this world is a bit behind on the times in terms of the tech department... It wasn't necessarily true, but Law had a hunch based on his prior ventures that most worlds that were lacking in terms of technological advances typically were more prone to hosting buried treasure.
There was a new excitement in the pirates step as he sauntered throughout the festival. Surrounded by stalls, dancing people and many drunkards, the pilot felt right at home as he made his way through the bustling crowd. A sudden smell gripped his nose just as he was passing one plaza, a strong scent of meat sizzling over fire. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr His hand suddenly clenched his empty stomach which erupted in a fit of growls. Luckily, he had just nabbed the gate guard's pouch, so the meat wouldn't cost him a single munny. Pleased with his decision, the pirate made his way over to one of the many stalls... just as a gigantic alligator crashed through the crowd across the plaza, devouring most of the stalls wares instantly. Panic and chaos erupted throughout the small city in the mountains, Law watched with his mouth agape.
"Woah..." He had never seen an alligator stand on its hind legs, or push through an entire crowd of people for food. The Lizardman was tall, about the same size as Law. His dark scales certainly gave him a monstrous appearance, though what really caused the beast to look alarming were its jaws. The way they unhinged and clenched and tore through whatever they could find was rather grotesque, to be honest, it made him feel a bit uneasy. Before the pirate realized what was happening, the alligator had made its way over to the stall he was standing near, destroying it utterly in his gluttonous rampage. Law himself had just been preparing to purchase a fresh skewer, instantly feeling a white hot fury grip him as the pang in his stomach created another loud growl.
"Hey...you...fricken...alligator..." The pirate's teeth were clenched, his lips unmoving as he uttered the sentence almost absently, his voice soft and quiet. Just as his finger touched the hilt of the gun at his side, there was a loud commotion as many Imperial soldiers began to storm through the plaza, many armed with pole-arms. Within an instant, Law witnessed the Lizardman not only dodge and intercept many different attacks, but also pushed back the soldiers and backed them into a corner. He's tough...! The pilot watched in modest awe as the lizard man spun and twirled through the plaza, making easy work of any guard that was unfortunate enough to go toe-to-toe with him. Law was impressed.
Not nearly as impressed as he was when he witnessed the alligator literally throw a horse at the crowd of guards cornering him. The hoofed beast whinnied in surprise and pain as it landed on many of the soldiers, mingling with the surprised shouts of the crowd. Suddenly, the lizard man vanished before Law's very eyes, causing the pirate to turn his head wildly, scanning the crowd. There was a yell as one of the guards spotted something, causing Law to whip his head around and catch the glimpse of a few bright feathers weaving their way through the narrow streets of the city.
Forgetting about the rage that had consumed him a moment ago, as well as the hunger gnawing at his stomach, Law eagerly began to run after the commotion. It was easy to tell where the lizard man was headed, as most of the guards still capable of fighting ran after them. This is crazy! He had never seen a Lizardman before and he had to say, he was impressed. "I knew this was a good choice!" The pirate shouted with a gleeful laugh a he sprinted after the guards that were chasing the Lizardman. He certainly was happy he had chosen to treasure hunt on this world!

Where to go where to go? His baser survival instincts were yelling at him to get as far from this place as possible, he had no pride that was injured. In his lizard brain it would have just been too inconvenient to fight these soft skins. He also had no further reason to stay here, he had his fill of tasty food... for now. But the soft skins with bows and arrows were a perceptive bunch, more so than he originally gave them credit for as he climbed up a building to the rooftop. He was about to tend to the arrows making him look like a porcupine when he saw some guards in a nearby tower. More archers. Wait- why were they aiming metal sticks at him? Ruz quickly got his answer as they fired, suddenly feeling a hot searing pain as he went tumbling over backward from the roof.
Crashing on some crates, Ruz thrashed and got back to his feet- lounging at the closest thing in a panic, which happened to be a guard. Ruz's jaws clamped down around his head as he threw his head to the side, sending the still alive but definitely unconscious guard flying into the path of some horsemen. Ruz opened his mouth and launched his tongue out, grabbing one and with alittle muscle, he managed to tip the rider and his horse into the one next to him. Ruz went back on the move, quickly leaping over them and making a sharp turn. All he had to do was keep going in one direction and he'd get out right?
He was half-right. The guards anticipated that such a wild creature would try to flee, and had soundly closed and reinforced the gates. He lingered in front of a firing squad for only a moment, quickly darting off before he was shot by their magic fire sticks! Walls were too flat to scale, tall to jump over, and too far from buildings to jump to. Could he ram through it? Ruz crashed into it before finishing his train of thought. Nope! Despite the silly construction of the other buildings, the walls were quite study. New plan! He'd burn his way through the gate.
He started to double back, rounding back the corner much to the surprise and shock of the soldiers chasing after him. Ruz trampled over them and ducked under the swords of a horseman or two as he saw what he assumed to be the gate. He started to breathe in deeply, and he stopped in front of the firing squad from before while they were reloading. And then he opened wide and let loose blueish flames like a modern day flamethrower, catching anyone that didn't jump out of the way, torching the reinforced wooden gate. But it wasn't quite... gone yet. It'd take a moment to burn.
Which meant it all he had to do was not die for a moment or two. Easy enough right? Ruz ran over to one of the magic fire sticks and... randomly pointed it at one of the surviving guardsmen. Confused as to how it worked before just clubbing one of them over the head with it as soldiers started to catch up to him. Door was almost done, just needed some time. Summoning his axes, Ruz prepared to defend himself!

The large alligator was certainly the cause of commotion, trampling through the festival as most of the city's guards began to chase it. Law was impressed at the creatures mobility, watching it scale an entire lookout tower right before getting shot off of it. Hm... so they at least have gunpowder on this world... This world was somewhere in between when it came to the tech department, so the pirate didn't think the old fashioned weapons would do much harm, making him doubly surprised when he watched the large Lizardman fall from said tower after getting shot, crashing into a multitude of crates and goods in the town plaza.
Having made it to the gate, the large Lizardman had belched flames from his own gullet, erupting the city gate into a fit of flames. Law watched all of this from where he stood in the plaza, witnessing most of the remaining guards finally catch up to the creature, circling and surrounding them around the gate. Horns were still blowing around the town, the Emperor most likely dispatching even more guards. Law had just arrived on this world, so he didn't know about Emperor's or Imperial Army's or anything like that, but he did know what it was like to be chased down and threatened to have your freedom taken from you. As he stood there in the plaza, the pirate gazed at the Lizardman with a conflicted look. Think about how handy his strength would be...
Law remembered seeing the Lizardman throw a horse earlier, imagining what it would be like to pillage the skies and seas with that kind of strength backing you. Hm... maybe he could be useful... He didn't want to charge in, cutting or shooting down the guards however. Mainly because he wasn't sure if this creature would listen to his proposal or not. Because of this, an idea came into Law's head. The pirate looked around the plaza, noticing a crate of fireworks yet to be used for the festival. Rushing through the chaotic and panicking crowd, Law shouldered his way over to the crate. Kicking the crate over, the pirate grabbed a nearby paper lantern that hung from a thin wire snaking across the plaza. Ripping the beautiful display down without a second thought, the pirate yanked out the small candle that lit the paper lantern up.
Using the flame from the candle, the pirate tossed the fire into the crate and kicked it towards where the commotion with the guards was. The crate knocked over, spilling the fireworks out from within, most of which were beginning to catch. "No one even has said what they're celebrating!" Law was upset, he had wanted to make a funny joke or pun before his idea flourished into fruition. The fireworks began to shake and rattle as their wicks were set off, the sky pirate waving his arms wildly over his head as he yelled over to the guards. "Yoooooohooooo~ Y'all might wanna scram, fast!"
Suddenly the plaza was an eruption of sound and light. Multiple fireworks were set off, launching out of the crate directly towards the crowd of guards. The explosions from the fireworks were blinding, erupting the night into multitudes of different colors and flashes. Law used this opportunity to rush through the guards, grabbing the Lizardman by the shoulder as he hollered over the noise: "Hey, scaly, let's move!" Law quickly rushed past the Lizardman, leaping through the now mostly dissolved city gates and out into the open terrain.
His hope was that the fireworks would distract the guards long enough for him and the alligator to flee the scene. His heart was heavy with hope as he bolted out through the gates, into the open night. There were bamboo forests in the distance towards the left, large imposing mountains looming towards the right. Towards the ship! The bamboo thicket he had arrived at seemed like the perfect place to lay low and hide for a while. Law turned his head to make sure the Lizardman was following him before booking it in that direction.

Ruz would focus his attention to the enemy approaching him from all sides, muttering something in his native tongue. His body gave off a clearly magic green glow for a moment, steam rising from his body as his injuries- for the most part, were taken care of. His body was still going to ache and hurt once the adrenaline wore off. But that was a concern for later as a swordsman was the first to engage him. Ruz blocked and tried to parry, barely missing as the soldier moved back as a couple more lounged forward with spears. Ruz ducked low, real low and hooked the spiked point behind one of his axes to pull the foot out from under one of them.
Then he spun wildly around when rising to his feet, trying to ward off attackers from the other side. Another clash of swords, this time he countered. And things got weird, he heard something which was then followed by blinding flashes of light and deafening noises. He did not react favorably to overwhelming stimuli, taking it out on a few guards closest to him as a soft-skin grabbed him. But he was off before Ruz could strike him, seeing him run through the gate. Ruz had no illusion that the meat was helping him. But the gate was burned enough to where he could barrel through it and make his escape.
The soft skin a moment ago was ahead of him, and looked to be trying to beckon him to follow. Was he helping? Leading him into a trap? In any case Ruz was in an unfamiliar land and he could easily handle one soft skin. So for now he'd follow. But he'd be Lurking while doing so. Where was he? What were these plants? He was getting more questions than answers, and it was actually starting to irritate him slightly. This soft skin would be useful... either for information or a snack. Or both! Ruz would naturally not follow directly behind Law, following off to the side slightly and at a short distance. Ruz would be able to keep after his scent.

Years of fleeing from authority aided Law as he sped through the tall grassy plains that surrounded the city. He could hear the shouting of guards and arrows sailing through the air after them as they fled. Luckily the fireworks had kept many distracted for a moment, giving the pirate and the lizard a good head start. Law had only glanced back a moment to make sure the creature was following him, initially seeing him barrel his way through the gate. Geez... this guy's wild! The sheer strength of the Lizardman impressed him. It wasn't every day that someone saw a creature take on a whole squadron of guards by themselves.
Law managed to avoid the nearby Imperial encampment, not wanting to lead the two into more soldiers, instead taking them around it and into the bamboo forest. The pirate zig-zagged through the thin trees, the sounds of the guards growing dimmer and dimmer. It seemed the night time was their ally, as the darkness in the forest helped shroud him as he rushed through towards the thicket he had originally landed in.
Erupting into the clearing with the shaking of trees and bushes, Law emerged int the bamboo thicket with the small path and the tall stone rock. Panting, the pirate collapsed near the campfire he had made earlier here, currently a dull pile of ash. His breathing was heavy due to the distance he had run, it had been a while since he had had to flee like that. There was a heavy rose flush on his cheeks from the adrenaline, he felt alive! Sitting up in the clearing, the pirate wiped his brow of the sweat that had formed, running a hand through his dirty blonde hair.
Standing up and brushing himself off, he looked around, wondering if the Lizardman had followed him. "Pssssst! Alligator! Are you around here?" He didn't want to shout, but couldn't whisper or else the Lizardman most likely wouldn't hear him, instead doing a mixture of both. He waited to see if the creature had followed him or not.

This world was strange to him. It was not home. Soft skins and their city aside, it was too quiet. He couldn't feel the presence of the elemental spirits here. It was just... quiet. Ruz would get his answers, one way or another. So he would follow this soft skin, slowing down when he saw a small clearing with the faint smell of ash up ahead. Ruz kept low, moving slowly and purposely around the little camp site as Law paused to catch his breath. Ruz also needed to catch his breath with the adrenaline starting to wane, and his body ached. Still, one soft skin wouldn't give him any problems if he turned out to be less than useful. But it wasn't easy to keep his breathing quiet.
And then the soft skin called him an alligator. That wasn't completely untrue, just inaccurate. But it wasn't important to Ruz as he was trying to decide how to go about this. To say his interactions with soft skins was limited to... well- eating them, you can imagine how awkward this was. He wasn't armed that he could see- though noted that there was something holstered. Hand-crossbow? No, wasn't the right shape. And he didn't see any bolts or arrows any where on his person. Ruz would slowly sneak up toward Law, still Lurking low to the ground. He'd come back into view once he was close to Law, where he'd snort at Law. This was followed by a low, and definitely alligator sounding growl as he watched Law expectantly.

Night was heavy as the dark consumed the bamboo thicket. There was no fire, thus Law couldn't see perfectly well. This is when he wished he had learned a fire spell of some sort. Unfortunately his affinity with the sky hadn't brought him around that route, and so he was forced to kindle flames on his own. Once the large Lizardman emerged from the thicket, Law could really only make out a large tailed mass with glinting eyes. It growled lowly as it seemed to look at him, unsure. He held both of his hands up a little at his hips, showing he wasn't armed or meaning harm towards the creature.
The size of him...! The large reptilian was the size of the pirate himself. Though his gun blade rested in its holster, Law being rather quick on the draw, he didn't intend on using it. In his opinion, it was much wiser to try and recruit the monster that could take out an entire world's guard system. Heartless are probably no problem for this guy. Anticipation gripped him with a sudden inspiration, he kept his hands still and empty. "You really gave it to those guards good." He realized that there was a chance that the creature might not speak or understand his language. "I'm not a fan of them either, the guards, that is. They represent the very thing I stand against." Hoping the creature could understand him, Law gave a smile as he remained motionless, not wanting to give the wrong impression.
"I'm impressed by your strength. You're incredibly powerful." Most sentient beings were susceptible to praise, he hope the reptilian was no different. "Those guys seemed to not like the way you tore through the stalls. Me on the other hand, I think you should be free to feast as you please." There was a truth to what he said, the way Law saw it it was either allow the beast to feed on the stall goods or have him eat the citizens. What was obviously the smarter option? He didn't have much other than his items and weapons on him, though he had wished now he had brought some sort of peace offering with him.
"The name's Law~ I'm seeking treasure, enough to buy thousands of meat stalls. If you help me, I promise to give you as much feed as you'd like." Food truthfully wasn't that expensive on a pirate's budget, as well as many enemies most likely being edible for the creature. A mischievous smirk emerged on the mans face as he thought of having this gigantic alligator at his back, devouring all who opposed him in his treasure seeking. What a dynamic duo... There was a childlike giddiness in his hopes.
Who could imagine fighting side by side along a dinosaur-like creature! (Yes, there were dinosaurs where he was from, albeit not many.)

Ruz was paying an unusual amount of attention to Law. He was wary, listening, and also looking at a possible meal- all at the same time. Contrary to what Law may have believed, he did actually understand what he was saying than he was given credit for. But he only shifted his head at certain words. Feast, meat, and feed being the obvious ones. Unfortunately, Law's sweet talking was doing little. Meat would try honeyed words before being eaten, if he hadn't already caught them off guard anyway. Whatever he was saying was also already treated as fact. He knew they didn't like him, and he knew he was strong- compared to soft skins.
"Hunt, plenty food here," Ruz spoke briefly, followed by a low reptilian... purr? His jaws curled slightly in what could only be described as a grin at what he was referring to. He was referring to both that he could just get food here on this world, and from literally RIGHT there. He had little interest in being used to bring this soft skin shiny coin. But the fact he had not yet acted on that meant he had not made up his mind about it. He was simply waiting to see what Law could offer him next. But starting with food was a good choice.

He waited, wondering what went through the mind of a beast like this. I wonder if it’s more instinctual, or cognizant? It didn’t make much in the realms of conversation, though Law was surprised when it uttered language. Woah! It understands me!? There were a few other races he had met in his lifetime, including anthropomorphic beings, but never one quite like this. Most weren't... well, to be honest, most weren't reptiles.
Law wondered what being a reptile was like, his icy eyes finally adjusting in the dark. The creature had hand axes, as well as the ability to breath flame. He wondered if its species was native to this world. He had never been here before, so he honestly had no idea what to expect. Hm... Law crosses his arms and looked at the Lizardman quizzically.
”How did you get here? Is this your home?” Law had seen the tall mountains that cracked the sky on this world when he had flown in. Despite the snow, he wondered if perhaps this dragon-like creature lived near those. ”Do you have a name?”
He wasn’t sure much language the reptilian knew, but he was curious if it could answer any of his questions.

((think that's the shortest post I've seen you make xD))
The soft skin seemed surprised that he understood him. Not a very important fact for Ruz. He didn't follow him to answer inane questions either though. He glanced around briefly, keeping Law within his peripheral before finally saying, "Woke up from shrieking," Ruz said simply, referring to the fireworks. He otherwise didn't have an answer as to how he got here. So he couldn't say how. "Meat talks too much," he added with mild irritation. He still had questions that weren't being answered. Might help if he actually asked some wouldn't it?
"What use is soft skin to Ruz?" He continued, his posture changing to a slightly more aggressive looking stance. Which wasn't at all hard for a walking lizard. On the bright side, he said his name.

Does he actually understand me? Law was growing slightly skeptical at this creatures understanding of Language, seeing as how he hardly acknowledged most of his questions. The first retort the Lizardman had didn't make much sense to the pirate, as he wondered what "shrieking" meant. As to the comment on him talking too much, Law scowled a bit, spitting towards the ground. Pointing a finger at the creature, Law raised his voice a bit in irritation as a vein on his forehead began to throb.
"Listen here, you oversized handbag." Law took a few steps towards the creature, seemingly annoyed at the lizard mans attitude. Ruz, was it? "The name isn't 'Meat', it's 'Law'." For a moment he took a deep breath, thinking how aggravating this lizards personality was. Is his strength worth the trouble? Sure the Lizardman was powerful, but was he able to be cooperative at all? Scratching his head a bit, Law raised an eyebrow at the alligator before him named Ruz.
"For starters, I can help keep the guards off your back. I can also help get you home, if you want." He smiled at the reptile as he held out his arms at his sides, imitating wings. "I'm the captain of the skies around these parts, I can get you anywhere you need to go, fast!" He still had no idea if this 'Ruz' was from this world originally or not. If he happened to be a local, then bringing him home would be much easier. If not, well, he'd have to deal with that as it came to him.
His blue eyes stayed on the reptilian, scanning him with a thoughtful gaze.

It was... very unusual for a man to approach a wild beast. It was another to approach a Lizardman whilst yelling at it. He wasn't a coward, Ruz would give The Meat that. But he was still pretty stupid. Ruz was starting to lose interest again, his gaze wandering but again, Law was kept in his peripheral. He was unaffected by his name calling- what was a hand bag? A bag for storing hands? What was the point of having a bag exclusive to that one body part? Sacks were better! Stupid soft skin.
Law regained his attention at mentioning being able to get him home, skies- trying to flap like a bird. What? Was he saying he physically flew around? This was probably why his kind just ate soft skins when finding them. They were just too weird. "This not home. Soft skin useful after all," Ruz remarked in a frustratingly simple tone. He wasn't trying to be smug or arrogant, he was just stating what he viewed as fact. Ego didn't enter into it at all.

Ah, he was getting somewhere. Ruz admitted that this world was not his home world, despite Law thinking the Lizardman seemed to fit right in on this world. The beast seemed to be rather 'matter-of-fact', not having much nuance in the means of conversation or demeanor. Law wondered exactly how this creature, Ruz, had even managed to make it to this world. Is his world lost to darkness, too? Law had met a few world travelers upon his journey's, having noticed that many came from worlds that had fallen to the Heartless.
Unfortunately, the airship he had flown here needed more fuel. Running on mythril, an item Law was grateful seemed to be on pretty much any world he traveled to, the ship typically needed some time to refuel and takeoff. Being a stone, the pirate knew that mythril tended to either be inside of caves, on mountains, near volcanoes or other large rocky formations, as well as sometimes in Jungles. He had seen rather large mountains erupting from the ground in the distance, past the encampment in the opposite direction of the city they had fled from.
Law looked at the Lizardman, happy that the two had come to some sort of agreement, kind of. "I'll take you home, then!" The sky pirate beamed at the large dinosaur, still dreaming of its crushing jaws devouring any who opposed him. Resting his hands on his hips, the pirate turned a bit, pointing through the bamboo thickets towards where the mountain loomed, shrouded by clouds and fog as it jutted into the sky. "My ship needs fuel, first. We need to go to the mountain." It seemed Ruz understood most of what he said, though he wasn't sure exactly how much the lizard understood.
Would he understand what a 'ship' was? Or what needing 'fuel' meant?

Ruz did for now make up his mind not to eat Law... for now. If Law suddenly was mauled to death by wild animals or the like, that was a different story. But for now he'd be able to ignore his weirdness. Ship? What was a ship? Being that his village was more inland than coastal, he had no idea what one was. Boats were another matter but he didn't know the two were related. And fuel? Ruz blinked and looked in the direction of the mountain, only moderately displeased. He had no idea what the white stuff on the mountain was, and also had no idea that it'd be super cold up there... yet.
"Then we go to mountains," he said flatly. Ruz had no idea what Law had been talking about other than they needed to go to mountains. That was all he needed to know. He'd probably figure out the rest once they were there and he watched Law. Besides, he had never been up a mountain before- just really big trees.

Okay... it seems like he's on board... Law was still unsure how much of what he said was getting through to the reptile, his doubts heavier with the Lizards short and seemingly distracted replies. Ah well, doesn't really matter. This guy's hella strong. Truthfully, the Lizardman hardly needed to know much. Law had seen first hand the destruction this large beast could rain and was excited to see it in action again. With a grin, the man held up a finger and pointed at himself. "Law." The pirate normally had much flashier introductions, but it seemed that this Ruz hardly understood him and so he thought it best to keep it short.
Not knowing exactly what awaited them, Law looked up at the night sky and wondered how likely their chances were of navigating an unknown mountain with unknown enemies in the middle of the night. Having done his fair share of plundering in the dark, Law's eyes were adjusted well to the night time, but he was still a human. His vision wasn't reptilian. Unfortunately the introduction the two had made on the city guards was still fresh. A campfire would show the guards where they were. Crossing his arms, the pirate thought of what the best course of action would be. Well... I suppose we could always sleep in the ship...
The Harpy was still camouflaged in the thicket, anchored off to the edge of the forest. Law knew the way there was easy enough and figured that the two would have better luck on their excursion in the morning. "Ruz, follow me." The pirate walked off to the side of the clearing, using his long legs to navigate over the bushes and thicket clumps. Weaving between the thing bamboo trees, the Pirate made it to the edge of a small cliff, where his airship awaited them, hovering in place. The air rotors were able to suspend the craft in an idled state without burning any fuel, making anchoring possible both for land and sea. Truly it was a cause of pride to the man.
The ship was crafted from fine steel, orichalcum and wood, though its deck was small, most likely only hosting six people comfortably. The hull was sturdy and mirrored, lined with orichalcum in order to deflect oncoming projectiles. A small two cannon ship, The Harpy was one of the swiftest in the skies, with a few trick up its sleeves to boot. Colored in a deep mahogany color, the ship flew a single sail marked with the sigil of a flying Harpy. It mimicked the statuette at the bow, a large Harpy woman armed with wings and talons.
Hopping onto the rope ladder that hung from the side of the ship, Law turned, hoping to see Ruz below (if he follows). "Come aboard!" The pirate hoisted himself onto the ship deck, awaiting his odd reptilian comrade.

The Alexander was rather aptly named. Once, in the legends of a world long lost, a mighty fortress came to life to defend its homeland in a most dire hour, and thus was given the name. As a fortress to the Army of Light...it could not do so, but it was overflowing with life within. Hundreds of people without home or hearth to call their own, who had taken up the call to arms to defend the realms against the tyranny of Darkness, now lived within the aircraft carrier sized Gummi Ship... And at the heart of said Gummi Ship...was a golden clad warrior staring through the window of their personal chambers at the tiny realm below. Their eyes looked at snowy mountain peeks, lush bamboo forests, and quaint villages, reminded somewhat of the home they'd known before the Heartless had shown their faces. There were more than a few nights where they would close their eyes...and still see the hellish glow of golden spheres, leering hungrily at them from within the pitch-black abyss.
Taking the Grand Imperial Golden Key in hand, the Zealous Warrior took to the halls, walking down the metal interior of their floating fortress. As they passed, people making their way to their business stood aside, regarding their leader with looks of half interest, half respect, before returning to their previous tasks. The Warrior's steps echoed through the hallways, until they reached the doors of the Gummi Ship bay...they could already hear the whirring of drills and smell the blowtorches as they went hard at work repairing the slow and bulky transport ships that had seen some harsh conflict the other day...another world swallowed by shadows, and countless lives drowned in them. They'd managed to save as many as they were able...but some slipped through the cracks. Likely, the refugees they'd managed to house here in the Alexander would be dropped off in one of the more stable worlds...where they might find some semblance of normality until their world was restored once again.
"Your Grace!" A voice shouted from beneath one of the transports, before a wiry-looking boy pulled himself from its underbelly. "What a pleasure. Might I serve you?" "I am only here for The Thordan," they replied, with a curt nod. "I trust it was properly repaired, Nero?" Nero's face turned somewhat flushed, before nodding. "Of course. He waits for you in hangar 4. I trust you're going for a walk?" "I am." "Then let me not be the one to stop you!" Nero returned, shoving his torso back beneath the Dhamel-Class Gummis. "Enjoy yourself!"
The golden-tinted Thordan was a small ship...but quick. As Hangar 4 opened, the single-man vessel screamed out of the bay, zipping towards the ground of the Land of Dragons, shrieking overhead as it broke through the atmosphere...and began its descent towards the earth.

Social conventions were not completely lost on Ruz. He heard him say what his name was already, as inaccurate a name as it was. "Uh-huh," Ruz replied simply, just wanting to move this along. Trinkets or baubles seemed to be more apt a name for him, Ruz just hadn't decided which one to settle on yet while he followed after Law. Weird Guy? That was growing on him.
During the trek, Ruz became aware of a sound up ahead that he couldn't quite place. The soft skin seemed to be heading towards it which meant that the odds of it being a trap were increased just slightly. Seemed like a lot of trouble to help him and then trap him later though, so Ruz didn't put much thought into it. And then he saw what he was being led to. A... big boat? That was Ruz' first thought. So that was a "ship?" It was just a really big boat... that... flew? Ruz stiffened and sniffed the air cautiously, and was not sure what to make of the smell.
Before actually climbing up after Trinkets, he noted that there was something in the distance coming from the sky. Must have been a shooting star or something, nothing to concern himself with. Ruz climbed up easily, his head darting one way and another as if memorizing the layout of the deck aswell as trying to figure what was this magic? Big flying boats were weird!

Law laughed as he watched Ruz bolt around the deck of the airship, seeming to take in all of it. Glad to see even reptiles can appreciate good craftsmanship. Law had put many painstaking hours into fixing up and customizing his airship and was always pleased when anyone took notice of it. Looking up at the night sky, the pirate was brimming with excitement at the possibilities of new adventure. As he took in the scene, something caught his eye. It almost looked like a shooting star, though seemed... brighter? It was too dark to really make out much, just a bright blur streaking across the sky. Hm... There was a weird nagging feeling, something he felt he was forgetting. Something about the colors it emitted looked familiar...
Shaking the thought off and chalking it up to his being tired, Law called for Ruz to follow him as he led the reptile down the stairs beneath the raised hull at the stern of the ship. Reaching into the doorway of the staircase, Law flipped a switch, small lanterns turning on to light the way down into the hull of the ship. "Come on, Ruz! Beds are down here~" His own quarters was built into the raised platform of the steering station, but The Harpy had guest rooms down inside of the hull. Two, to be exact.
Leading the large reptile through the cannon room and into a short hallway with two doors, one on each side, Law opened the door on the left, revealing a plain room with a bunk bed and a single twin mattress, a small desk and chair in the corner. "Ruz, you can sleep in here." Law pointed at the room with a ringed finger, his smile shining with a few of the exposed gold teeth. "We set out for the mountain in the morning, so rest up!" Having figured the reptile had their fill of food in the city from their previous meeting, Law figured he wouldn't need to prepare any food for the reptile until the morning.
With a wave of his hand, Law was off to the Captains Quarters upstairs on the deck of the ship, where he would rest for the night.

The Thordan settled to the ground with a gentle thud, the creaking of bamboo in the wind all that seemed to greet them as they noted the time. Night. In the night, the Heartless thrived...and fed. A prime time to begin hunting their quarry. As the cockpit opened with a soft, hissing woosh, the Zealous Warrior grunted, heaving themselves out of within, landing on their feet. They would not draw their weapon...yet. Who knew what manner of local was out so stupidly at these late bells...startling them might compromise their position, and thus draw their foe around them in an ambush...a common tactic for the gutless, mindless creatures, to be sure.
The Warrior moved wordlessly through the jungle of tall, thin flora around them, little sound but the faint rustling of leaves against armor. They had to be out here somewhere...the most they killed, the ever-closer they were to summoning the great Kingdom Hearts...the closer they would become to finally ridding the realms of the Heartless, the Nobodies, and the Darkness itself for all time. The worlds would become whole...become right once more... At the base of a mountain, where the treeline at last ended, the golden-clad warrior elected to take a moment to observe their surroundings...There seemed to be no sign of Heartless anywhere. Odd. Perhaps their recent victory at Shailang Pass had deterred them from further activity for now? Doubtful. Heartless were never so tactical. Even with their supposed masters no longer being in the picture... But the Zealous Warrior knew all too well--Heartless had no true masters. There were only the pawns in this game, this cruel, bloody game of war...at least on their side.
A higher point of view might serve better to find their way around, perhaps? Nodding at their own mental suggestion, the silent steward began their trek up the side of the lofty peaks...unaware, at the moment, of the eyes on their position, the glint of gold still visible in the moonlight. A collection of silver-bodied foes began snaking their way over...it would be some time still before they reached them...and the warrior themselves had yet to notice the familiar-looking ship perched not too far from where they were beginning to walk...
((Don't worry about waiting on me to post btw.))
