Like always Thomas didn't know how he got to this place or for that matter what he was doing here. It was a dark and loud night. Not that darkness was a problem, he could see well enough, it was the noise. His large hears began throbbing painfully whenever he got near a bar. However, the shinies made it all better. These bars were full of sleeping or drunk men who weren't using their shinies. All he had to do was sneak up behind them quietly cut their purses with a claw.
Even with his great luck Tom knew he would have to stop soon or risk a horrible back ache in the morning. His sack was getting so heavy from all the things he collected. It was a miracle that it didn't break before now. He wandered around a bit more back straining to the last bar he planned on visiting that night. Before entering he hid his large sack behind a barrel; glaring menacingly at any who dared look at it. No way they would steal his shinies.
Inside he gathered more coins, spoons, and any other thing that caught his eye before slipping out the door to put the stuff with the rest of his beloved loot. However, it wasn't there. With a shocked and unbelieving expression the Nay-Kobold quickly searched all nearby places he may have put it before seeing a shape in the distance.
It was far away put he could still notice one thing about it. Hanging over its shoulder was his sack. Tom began angrily swishing his tail back and forth before taking off after the figure.

Tom could have purred when he got his sack back. He was beginning to think he wouldn't have caught the man. Even if he did could he have gotten it back?"I guess I should take them back and I would, but I can't remember all the places I got them from." he sadly. He would like to do what Kat said since she helped him and because the sack was getting very heavy.
Tom pulled out a fish from the sack and began gnawing on it while he thought. No matter how hard he tried to remember he just couldn't. Even if a memory of a place came up it was quickly squashed down by the wonderful and distracting taste in his mouth.Have to say something. Maybe she can help. This is a good fish. he thought before deciding to speak."My name's Tom and I don't usually steal, things just seem to end up in my sack somehow. You don't know where everything I collected tonight belongs do you?" he asked hopefully.

"Thank you." he said delightedly as he received more fish not bothering to wonder why he was being followed. It didn't matter though as it seemed he had met a very nice person. The Nay-Kobold followed with his hand in her's.
His eyes widened in slight surprise as all the large men he had stolen from earlier straighten up to attention as Kat walked. "She must be famous." he thought in wonder. Oh she was a captain. Maybe he should become one too. His day dreaming shattered as almost half of the men in the bar came to crowd around a table in front of them.
Thomas began looking through his sack which was a journey itself. Inside were countless items that glowed faintly as light fell upon them. Gold, silver, brass, crystal, and many other shinies of all shapes and sizes filled the sack. The Nay-Kobold stuffed his furry head into the sack and began tenderly pulling out different objects he had gotten that night.
Rings, necklaces, earrings, purses, buckles, compasses, spoons, and a few other objects even he didn't know of. The men began hesitantly get their own items out of the large pile that developed. Tom was afraid they may take what wasn't theirs but they seemed to be behaving around his friend.
After a while the people began to step away in small groups back to where they were;waiting until finally everyone stepped away. A large pile was left but a good deal of it was back in its respective owner's hands. When the last group of men left the Nay-Kobold gathered what was left into his bag and hefted it over his shoulder with a slight grunt. It was a bit lighter but still heavy.

Tom was really starting to like this woman. Fish everywhere he went. All was going his way. A lighter sack and a heavier stomach. "Nice to meet ya Shiro." he said as he peered into the sack and began pulling out the loot until it was a pile like the previous ones.
While the men and the occasional woman came to get their things the Nay-Kobold peered at Kat and Shiro intently while eating a fish. They both oddly looked a lot alike. Besides the hair and eye color that is. "I wonder how that happened." he thought to himself. What did the rest of their family look like? Maybe her mother had red hair and red eyes and her father sapphire hair and eyes. Perhaps the opposite. They were almost like his friends and their family. One had spots just like his mother.
Back to the loot his inner voice told him. It rarely came unless he had to do something and was one of the only things that got him back on track. Where did it come from he would often think. He didn't but sometimes wished he didn't have it. How could he get rid of it though? "Pay attention!" it came back sounding slightly annoyed.
His limited attention span came back as the last man got his things and went. Thomas once more gathered the items and put him in his sack. It looked like they wouldn't have to go to too many more bars thankfully. The sack was beginning to hurt his shoulder.

"Hello, sir. " he said to their father while unconsciously looking him over for shinies. Luckily he caught himself before accidently causing a problem. "So thats where they get their hair and eye colors from." he thought transfixed by the two colors. It sort of reminded him of his aunt. Her hair was many different colors as well as her eyes.
"I'll be able to carry it. It just takes a bit of time to get used to after I go to a new place." he said to Kat. For reasons unknown to him it always seemed to get heavier. Someone must be following him around and putting things in there while he took a nap. If only he wasn't so sleepy sometimes.
He backed away slightly worried when Kat seemed to lose control of herself for a few moments. Luckily it seemed to pass in a few moments. The Nay-Kobold began glaring in an unblinking stare at the men as his own anger grew. How dare they annoy the giver of gifts and helper. "They do have nice shinies on them though." he thought considering stealing from them. However, his plan was foiled by that cursed inner voice telling him not to do it and that he should have learned his lesson. Why did he even listen to it?
"Guess we should keep going. Got to return a few more items. Want to come along?" he asked Koryuma.

Tom began emptying the rest of the loot (with Kat's help) onto the table after the usual introduction and eating of a fish. It wasn't much compared to what was there before and most of it was soon taken by its previous owners. Heck, the main thing that was left were a few candlestick. Not your average candlestick mind you but a shiny brass candlestick. Some looked as if they had been polished often for some special occasion. No doubt they would get more than a few gold pieces from an honest shop owner. If they could find one that is.
"Looting? Yay! he cried out happily. It was hard to resist stealing from the people while they were getting their things, but now he would be allowed to steal from harmless unsuspecting villagers. What fun this would be!
The Nay-Kobold pretty much began bouncing with excitement. He would be able to steal uncontrollably and become a pirate to boot. All he needed was a pirate hat. "Maybe one of the men has one they don't need." he thought while glancing around the room with slitted eyes.
"No, better wait til I get there." he thought deciding it was a bad idea to steal from those he just gave back to. Thomas waited ready to follow Kat pretty much anywhere.

"How much fish could there be in one place?" he asked himself while almost drooling. They were huge too. Some were even used as decorations. Could life be any better. Fish everywhere, being a pirate, and getting told that he could steal. Plus the men were sleeping that would make it much easier to steal from them. "Those are your friend's men." his inner voice told him when he thought of stealing. Whoops better not steal from them.
Tom covered his large ears the best he could but the whistle still left his ears ringing. It didn't bother him though. How could it with everything the way it was. He would even get to go with Kat. Soon when he thought he couldn't contain his excitement any longer they reached a quiet place full of decent looking houses. Not like the other place at all.
After a quick climb with Kat he was atop a building. His friend didn't waste time at all but dove straight into the chimney and when she signaled him he dove straight in head first. Unfortunately he didn't land on his hands but on his head. The blow hurt but the the fur on his head and his bandanna muffled both pain and noise. It would have been bad if had his sack with him but luckily he left it on the ship.
Tom was on his feet and into the room in an instant with an embarrassed look on his face. He shouldn't have went in head first. It didn't matter though as long as he didn't make noise. Thats what he liked his padded feet for. No noise at all while he walked. First he looked around the room. Plenty of shinies that gleamed softly in the moonlight. His goal was upstairs though. Thats where they kept the good shinies in boxes.
Tom climbed the stairs without a noise and quietly went straight into the room with two sleeping people. He found what he was looking for quickly right on wooden table. It was a similar to all the others he took before just the right size to hold all forms of shiny gold and jewels. The thing that made it a bit different than most was a lock. Fortunately Tom could also pick those, just not now. The Nay-Kobold took it from its resting place and brought the prize back downstairs to Kat, who would have hopefully found a bunch of shinies.

Tom climbed quickly up the chimney using his claws for help. Normally it would make noise but he had practice after all. Once he got out he ran quickly following Kat across the roof. He was smarter this time instead of diving head first he jumped in feet first.
Like a cat he landed on his feet and ducked out into the room. It was similar to the other one except that it was a one story house instead of a two story. That would mean he would have to be even quieter. Besides being a one story the furniture looked a bit used. Still Tom once more went to retrieve a few jewels.
These people seemed a bit poorer than the ones next door. No jewels in sight and everyone seemed crowded together. "Maybe I should leave them a fish." he thought feeling a bit sorry for them. He pulled the said fish out from under his bandanna and put it near the bed. It wasn't the only thing in there though. His pity became enough to even leave a shiny coin. Tom actually felt better about leaving one of his loved shinies to the seemingly poor people. Perhaps not poor but hard workers." he thought to himself as he left the room.
Sneaking back the Nay-Kobold went to see what Kat found. "I wonder how the others are doing?" he whispered to her when he found her.

(Lmao.)
Tom took a brief moment to consider if he wanted to be an angel. He was just fine as a Nay-Kobold but if she wanted to be one he guessed he was fine with it too. The next house was completely different than the last. They were very very rich. Everything being coated with jewels and gold. Even the cups were golden. How the heck had they not been robbed before?
While Kat went about her own business Tom looked around for something to do. It was then that he saw it. A small white dog, one of the ones that have an annoying bark. It must have cost a lot of money. Maybe the family next door would like it. The Nay-Kobold walked quietly over to the sleeping animal.
If he had his bag it would have been much easier but as it was he didn't. Luckily Tom thought to cover its mouth before snatching it up. He held the struggling dog up and franticly looked around for a gag. There it was in the form of a shiny silk napkin sitting on the dining table.
Thomas quickly balled up the material and stuffed it in the dogs mouth and grabbed another to tie its mouth together. "Perfect, now to take it next door." A quick scramble up the chimney, dog struggling, took him to the roof. Next a run and dive led him to the poor family's living room. He looked around knowing he was forgetting something. Oh yes food and a bed.
He had to run up and down chimneys again to the other house. Thomas used another few handkerchiefs tied together to hold stolen turkey, chicken, ham, fish, and cheese. Now for the bed. There it was in a corner. Several sheets each one better than the one the family shared. The Nay-Kobold gathered the sheets together in a bundle and placed it on his head. After climbing the chimneys again ,almost dropping everything several times, he made it back to the other house. The bundle was soon placed in a corner and the food in the kitchen.
A quick pat on the dogs head and he was gone, back to wait in the other house for Kat.

Tom followed Kat around as she went into the next house, which was also poor. He wondered how the one rich house made their money. The Nay-Kobold watched as his friend left one golden candlestick and fish to help the family. Pretty good for a pirate.
After a quick climb up the chimney he followed her to the ship where eager men were waiting. The ship itself always impressed Tom even if he hadn't seen it much. Large fish everywhere and now a pile of shinies surrounded by the crew. Time to dump the stuff he had.
Out of his deep pockets came a necklace, bracelet,a few rings, an earring, a pocket watch, and what was perhaps a signet ring. Maybe they wouldn't need those. He was about to leave the pile until he realized his bandanna felt heavy for some reason. Maybe something was in it too.
From his bandanna diamonds appeared. Tom himself didn't know where they came from but he added them to the pile anyway. Things kept getting better too. Now it was a party and he got to be in it. He rarely was invited to other people's homes and parties for some reason. The Nay-Kobold began drinking out of the mug he was given and thought that it tasted a bit odd but if everyone else enjoyed it he should too. Some of the men were even seeing who could drink the most while other watched and yelled at it each other. Maybe he should join in the game sometime.

Tom eyed the shiny give to him with glee. "Thanks." he said to her. Now he would certainly join in the games even if his friend hadn't encouraged him. This would be fun and he would have to win now.
The Nay-Kobold went to sit on a long wooden table filled with pirates waiting for the game to start. On the opposite him was a large pirate and behind him keg upon keg of rum. At each end of the table sat a somewhat honorable pirate to watch for cheaters. After a few minutes when everyone was half-way settled down the game began.
Tom's only plan was to drink as much as possible as quickly as possible while others paced themselves. After twenty or so glasses he began to fill weird and a bit dizzy. Still he carried on though until it was only him and the fat man in front of him. The men behind them watched in awe or cheered as they drank keg after keg. However, eventually the man began to slow while Tom kept drinking as if he hadn't had a drink in days.
In the end the Nay-Kobold one and the fat pirate passed out. After thanking Kat for cheering him on and being cheered for Tom drunkenly got up off the stool and staggered dangerously over to his prize. A shiny gold candlestick, which he put in his sack just before falling to the ground. He barely managed to stand up before being knocked down again this time by Kat. It seemed she wasn't herself too as she challenged anyone or everyone on the ship.
Pretty much every pirate rushed to fight her one on one, including a drunk Tom waving a stolen cutlass around in his hand. They wouldn't normally try to hurt her (or stupidly challenge her) but they were all drunk.

Tom went backwards with his sword when he was blocked. He began to swing a wild stroke once more before the darn inner voice kicked in. "Why are you fighting your friend? I am? Yes, you are. Now stop it and help her out. Yes, sir or ma'am." thought Tom talking to the inner voice. You couldn't disobey the wise inner voice, where ever it came from.
The Nay-Kobold immediately stopped his swing and turned to face the pirate behind him. It was the fat man he went against in the game before. He may have been three or so times his size but Tom was sure he could beat him.
He began by slapping the surprised man with the flat of his blade. It wouldn't be fair to cut him in the beginning. The man quickly lost his surprise and swung back at Tom's head. The Nay-Kobold ducked down and then made a deep cut on his left leg. It caused the pirate to stumble; knocking down the ones behind him.
Thomas went back to Kat and stood behind her. "I'm with you. The inner voice told me to help." he said while blocking a strike.

It was so far so good as Tom wounded another man. Kat herself also seemed to be doing well. All that stood before her were soon cut down almost viciously and grossly. If he wasn't fighting he would have vomited as bits of blood flew on him as his friend killed another. "She is acting odd. Killing her own crew members?" thought the voice. It was right. Why was she killing them? All he did was maim them.
After examining Kat with all of his small attention span he noticed her eyes were different. Instead of being a sapphire color they were red. "I wonder if I do that. What color would match my fur the most? Maybe a orange or a blue. Focus!" he thought before paying attention again; still listening to whatever odd person lived inside him. What could he do, though she seemed really angry?
Fish that was it. The food always made him happy and luckily it was everywhere. Which would she like? The largest of course and there it was over a doorway. Tom agilely leaped on top of it and began jumping up and down until it hit the deck beneath his feet. Using his strengthened muscles he picked up the large thing; swaying dangerously. A quick shuffling walk took him to his friend's back.
"Catch." he called while giving it a hefty toss to her before nimbly climbing up the mast in case she was still mad.

"She sure is talking weird." he thought while staring down at her from his now higher vantage point. The only bad thing was that it was getting a bit hard to breath. Why was she mad though? Who wouldn't want a giant fish thrown at them?
He thought through the situation before answering "This one thought that one would like a fish. That one looks like it tastes pretty good." he said pointing at the fish and squirmed a bit. The Nay-Kobold would have to find a way out of her grip soon. Even with thick fur, being held up by your throat was no fun.
"This one apologize for tossing you a fish." he continued; trying to talk in first person too. It was a bit awkward at first but he soon got used to it. Maybe he should talk that way more often.
(Darn writers block)

(Unfortunately. I think its back =].) Tom began a little victory dance as Kat turned back to her usual self. After a bit he calmed himself down and answered his friend. "Nope, she didn't hurt me. I think the fish helped." he said happily as he pointed to the fallen fish. He didn't have to do anything thing thankfully. Kat's brother and father sure could fight.
Tom peered around the ship that was now red with the blood of the fallen. Poor pirates. Kuryo could fight well too. It took three people to beat her and even then it wasn't in a fair way. "I wonder if I can do that." he thought to himself. Becoming a crazy angry person and talking funny might be fun. Of course there was the downside of hurting others. Maybe it wouldn't be a good idea.
In a corner he spotted a mop. Maybe he should help clean up the mess. He quickly dashed towards object and began rapidly running along the deck with the mop in front of him. It wasn't the most effective way of cleaning but it sure was fun. He finally stopped near Kat; panting slightly from his mad dash. "Want to try?" he asked her. There was nothing than running around a bloody deck.
"Wait I know." he thought having an idea. Tom began running again this time in the previously mopped part of the ship. A quick fall and he was sliding away. It was great fun until he hit a wall. However, that didn't slow him down and he was up in a flash. "That was fun!" he called out to his friend.

Tom nodded in agreement with Kat; now back at her side. He eyed pills that were given to her curiously. What could they be? "They must be vitamins." he thought. That was how she was so strong. The Nay-Kobold himself once took vitamins and would have still took them while his mother hung over him. Another good thing about leaving the island. However, maybe he should start taking them again.
Now he had a choice to make. Leave with his friend or stay in a world full of loot. It was a tough decision to make. One one hand was the joy of being with a kind fish giving friend and on the other shinies were everywhere. He moved tilted his head from side to side while he thought , considering what to do.
After a few moments he just gave up and followed Kat. Indecision often plagued the poor boy. "Thanks for everything!" he called out to the crew before doing a cartwheel after his friend into the unknown. What would they do now? Who cared? As long as they were having fun it didn't matter. His thoughts and questions randomly appeared and disappeared in his head while he followed.

Tom followed Kat into the strange vehicle. All around him were shiny buttons and such. He stared in wonder as it lifted itself off the ground and into space. The Nay-Kobold scanned the area around him happily through the cockpit. All around him were shinies. Each one brighter than most of his cache. He sat back in an extra seat while the ship took off in the sea of stars.
(Don't worry mine was short too. I don't care, just where ever you care to go to.)
