Arkyron just looked at her, his breath taken by that shocking knowledge. His jaw had dropped somewhat, and he couldn't find much of anything to say. That had to be horrible... Losing someone you cared about, just to gain some powers... Yet... In an odd sense, that was his story with the Keyblade.
"You know... It's funny... We're not that different... When my home was destroyed, the only survivors where myself, my brother, and my sister... My brother was enveloped in the darkness, while my sister became a keybarer. I was neutral... for a time. I eventually surrendered to the dark for a time... I shook it off, and soon after... Hikari, my girlfriend, entered my life... Not long after that, my sister was murdered, and I took off... A man then found me, and showed me that I was meant to be a keyblade master... And now, here we are..." At that, his voice trailed off, as he couldn't find more to say.

"Wow... That's something you might wanna keep under raps... If someone found out about that, they could use it against you... Be careful who you say that around... I'm speaking from personal experience..." Arkyron warned, looking away gloomily for a moment. Then, he turned back to Shoku. "So, when you transform, does it affect your instincts, reactions, or anything like that?"

"Wow..." Arkyron said. He couldn't think of anything else to say at that moment, but was sure that it got his reaction across. "That's amazing..." Trying to regain some sense of logic, he thought for a moment, but nothing came. 'I feel... Stupid now...' he thought, looking away for a moment.

"Whaddaya mean by that?" Arkyron asked, confused. They would travel like a pack? She would've given out an invitation to him? He turned back to her, a confused look on his face.

"Oh, I see," Arkyron responded, smiling now. "I... You're one of the few kind people I've met lately... But I don't know if I can accept that offer... You see... I'm looking for someone... Someone who may or may not be dangerous... I don't want you involved in something like that... I couldn't bear for you to be hurt at my expense," he said, smiling with a bit of sadness.

"Well..." Arkyron responded, turning away. "Don't say I didn't warn you... Thing's may get very... I repeat, VERY unpleasant..."

Arkyron was shocked. Not only was he not expecting that, but he had underestimated her strength and speed in the first place. She atleast helped him back up though. "Fine then," he said, smiling.

Arkyron thanked the waitor and began to eat as well. Yet, he couldn't help but flashback. Everything that had happened that had brought him to this very moment in time... Many good things, and many bad... Yet... All of it was meant to be in his eyes. To him, coincidence didn't exist, and everything had a reason. Yet... What were his past memories? Points in time at which he'd enjoyed or suffered? Or... Was there something more... It perplexed even his own complex mind... Then, he snapped back into reality, realizing he'd finished his food. He hadn't even realized he was eating while he was thinking...

"Yeah, it's very good," Arkyron responded, though still not making eye contact. Lately, everything he remembered from before he met Hikari had seemed... Almost unreal. He couldn't get it out of his head. Was it possible... That maybe... just maybe... He wasn't even partially responsible for the death of his people?

"Oh, it's just something that's been bugging me for a while... Don't worry about it. I appreciate the concern though," Arkyron responded, trying to end the subject. It was weird though... Why was he having these thoughts just now? Why not before? It was somewhat disturbing...

"It's just... Lately... I've been thinking in a way that's very complex, even for me..." Arkyron said. "Like... Hm... Well... It's best to start from the beginning... You see, I came from a world where dragons still roamed, and people honored them... Then, a man, Martieve, came and turned them and the people into heartless... I and my brother willingly served him, though seperately, as I wanted to eliminate my brother for the death of our parents..." He stopped for a moment, looking away. He began to flashback.
It was that night. He awoke to the smell of something burning. He stepped outside to see his village on fire. His father approached him. "Arkyron, leave, now! Find your brother and stop him!" he shouted.
"Rukayron...? He did this? But... Why...?" Arkyron had asked. Then, he turned back to his father, who had now dropped dead. Arkyron couldn't say anything. He just panicked and ran.
Then, he found Rukayron, at the edge of town. He fought his brother, but to no avail. His brother had the darkness. Then, in a final attempt to save himself, Arkyron used the darkness, forcing Rukayron to flee. Then, Martieve came...
Then, Arkyron's flashback ended. "But... Was it real...?" he asked himself, almost whispering.

"Oh, I said all that outloud?" Arkyron asked, letting out a nervous chuckle and scratching the back of his head. "Anyway, your story sounds interesting so far. Please, go on," he insisted, listening intently.

"I'm sorry to hear that... But... I'm sure someone else survived. I mean... You did, so what are the chances that atleast one other person didn't?" Arkyron asked, reassuringly.

(Wow... I coulda sworn I posted already... Maybe I changed back to the home page before I clicked post... ) "I'm sorry to hear that..." Arkyron responded with a regretful look on his face. "In a way, I guess we're in similar circumstances I guess... Two other people survived from my homeworld... My brother and sister. My sister's dead now, and my brother wants to kill me..."

Arkyron's jaw dropped. He didn't think Shoku, slender as she was, would have such an appetite. Then again, he just met her, so anything would have surprised him. "So... what brought you here today?" he asked, curiuosly. "I mean... I don't believe in coincidence... I only believe in choice and destiny... So I don't think it was by chance we met..."

Arkyron laughed at the whale comment. "I travel by dark portal, so I've never had the misfortune to end up there... It sounds rather unpleasant though... I do have to say I agree though... Right place at the right time. Yet... I still think even if not now, we would have ended up meeting later... It's just something about my heart... I almost think it knows who it's supposed to meet..."

"Maybe..." Arkyron responded to Shoku's comment on hearts. Then when she mentioned why she ate so much, he just smiled. "It's understandable. Everyone's different." (Ack... Shortness...)

At that, Arkyron couldn't even find a response. That was somewhat... gruesome compared to what he would've pictured Shoku eating. "Well... On my homeworld, we rarely ate meat... We mostly ate fruits... The only meat we really ate was deer... And they weren't very common either..."

Arkyron gagged at the thought, though not audibly. "I've never considered eating snake before... I mean, I think they're just too interesting to kill and eat... They actually often had strange personalities on my home world... I say that, as many reptilian animals could and would talk often," he said.

Arkyron just listend intently. "It seems like you came from a pretty brutal place... I mean... It sounds nice, but it sounds like food sources and lifestlyle would have been really rough..." he said, smiling slightly. Then, he looked back on everything that had happened since he met Shoku. She'd actually stuck around to risk her life for him, and kicked serious tail doing it... It was definitely a by-product of her young life style. It wasn't hard to tell.
