As the last of the windmanes were defeated above and below deck the storm slowly drifted away. The rocking of the ship slowly came to a steady smooth sail and all seemed right. Except for the fact that tons of people had been hurt in the storm. One of the sails had been torn by the wind and cracked.
Red of course had no knowledge of this just yet as he was still below deck. But he didn't have to wait too long to find out. Pirates came in carrying their beaten comrads in their arms. Red didn't know what to do. He stepped out of the way as Lakari and another man came. He was a bit younger then the old healer, but his eyes were focused.
He took charge imediately. "Lay them on the cotts over there. Go fetch me some burning coal, we need to start boiling some water fast! Lakari can you handle the majors? I'm going have enough trouble just trying to ease some of their comforts after today."
Lakari nodded and set about to going over to some of the worse of the crew. Jeb pulled Red and the others from staring. "Let's get above deck. We'd be only in the way here." Red nodded and hurried along as Jeb led the way above deck.
Red was surprised to see Artemis standing in the fray of things. The storm had done a nasty job to above the ship. There were splashes of puddles all over the ship along with debris of various sorts scattered across the ship. "Storm is over...." Turning to Jean and everyone else he asked, "Is everyone alright?"
------------------------
Captain White was exhausted. He had done it though. They had survived the storm. Captain White reached to grab ahold of the pendent he wore around his neck. His eyes though covered in confusion when he felt nothing. The pendent was gone. Which meant.... that he no longer controlled the creatures.

It was a while yet before the windmanes started dying down in number. When that happened, the sailing with the ship started to smooth over. People were finally able to keep their balance above and below deck. Annalese, who had started to turn a nasty shade of green, began to gradually return to her normal pale coloring.
"I no likie ships!" she said aloud to herself, sounding a bit queasy despite her coloring turning normal again.
Jean no longer had to use someone for support as she stood carefully. "Is it...over?" she wondered. No sooner had she said it when pirates started coming below decks carrying their wounded. It wasn't clear if any of them were dead but it looked like many received nasty wounds. It made her wince at the thought of how many pirates were probably left after that.
Seeing as Lakari and the other person were going to need help below decks, Sain remained. "You guys go on ahead, I'll help these guys out down here with what I can."
With that, Ryu, Dyne, Jean, Annalese and Rowen followed Red and Jeb up the stairs. When Red spoke, everyone had been taking in the state of the ship. A sail had clearly been torn during the storm.
"Yes, I'm fine." Jean nodded her head to confirm this.
"I'll live." It had been Ryu who said that. Annalese and Dyne didn't speak. Dyne, because he couldn't speak and Annalese because she was still a bit sick. Rowen seemed fine, just looking around, gaping.
"Talk about fix yer uppa."

Jeb nodded to Ryu's comment. He folded his arms together as the one armed first mate walked over to the group of them. "Bet your regretting the decision to help us now huh?" The man said with a laugh.
Red shook his head. He did not regret helping the pirates. They needed it. "We'll be working long shifts till we get that sail fixed. Were sitting ducks until then. Where is that bloody Jimmy. He needs to get these guys workin."
The first mate did not seem to know the fate of Jimmy. Red in fact had no idea who Jimmy was either. Jean and Rowen were the one's who had worked with him. It would be up to them to inform the first mate as to the fate of Jimmy.
Red on the other head didn't feel right just sitting around. Jeb had signaled for him to come over. Doing so the small boy told Red, "Let's start getting some of these small scraps off the ship. I'd ask the girl too, but she looks like she'll puke. I was like that too first couple of days. Nothing to feel bad about." He gestured to Annalese.
Not really wanting to correct the younger boy, Red just nodded. There was no point in trying to describe why she was feeling sick. It most likely had nothing to do with the ship.
Red began mindlessly picking up small specs of wood from the ship and began throwing it overboard. It was to small to use again to help patch the broken sail. Picking up a group of small pieces of wood he walked over to the edge of the ship. With his head cast down, he did not spot the moving fishmen in front of him.
Because of his lack of looking he ran right into the creature. Red gazed up and apologized. He wasn't intemidated by the creatures like the pirates. But he was a bit cautcious. One could never be to careful around creatures you did not know or understand.
Still Red did not expect the reaction that the fishman gave. The creature's arm shot forward and Red found himself flying backwards and landing on his but ten feet away.

Jean and the others looked back at the one armed first mate. Surprisingly, he managed to survive the ordeal with the storm. At least they saw one familiar face. Jimmy, on the other hand, wasn't so fortunate. The first windmane they saw had incapacitated him and killed him right on the spot. There hadn't been any hopes of saving him. "We've been through worse." Jean meant that too. She, personally, had been through a lot worse. Monsters were far uglier than the windmanes an just as violent. The only difference was the windmanes had some intelligence to them.
When the first mate mentioned Jimmy, Jean and Rowen exchanged looks. Jimmy had been the guy that had been watching them sew earlier and gored right before their eyes. Rowen slowly looked to the first mate, his face grim. "Jimmy didn't make it, sir." Confirming what Rowen said, Jean nodded slowly, her expression just as grim.
Ryu and Dyne looked around, remaining where they were as Jean and Rowen gave the first mate the bad news. Where should they work? Rowing again?
Annalese didn't realize her reason for getting ill was because she hadn't fed yet. It had been a bit since Lakari had taken her hunger away. She didn't realize that it would make her so queasy. "...Ugh!" she stated, wandering over to the edge of the ship's railing only to see Red go flying by. Blinking, Annalese turned toward the source and put two and two together.
Her nose scrunched up irritably. "No one hits my friends!" she hissed, her pupils becoming slitted like a feline's to show her anger.

Red shot up in anger. Why the hell did that creature just hit him? With a single stretch of the hand his keyblade formed in his hand. The sea creature just turned to Annalese and regarded her with a stare. His head tilted slightly to the left exposing its neck in what seemed like a stretch. It seemed to almost expect something.
Red just stared at the creature with angry eyes. If this was going to end in a fight then Red was ready. Captain White appeared on the scene not long after. "What's going on?" He demanded.
The creature slowly turned to Captain White. "Shut up human." Captain White seemed stunned by the words.
The one armed first mate walked over, a hand on the saber at his belt. "What's up, Captain?"
Captain White recovered quite quickly. "Nothing. Just a creature forgetting whose in charge." Although Captain White spoke with absolute certainty, Red noticed that his eyes looked away when he said it. Red had no proof, but he somehow knew that the man was not telling the truth.
The sea creature merely gave the captain a smile. "Right..." With that the creature walked away.
Captain White watched the creature go. After the creature disappeared below deck, Captain White spun. "Well let's get that sail fixed. Were relying on drifting till we get that sail up." The first mate nodded as Captain White walked away.
The first mate turned to the lot of them. "Let's get going. Rowen and Jean you two were workin on the other sail, you can help on the mast. Dyne and Ryu please go and help with the rowing again. Jeb you can handle the littleins?"
Jeb nodded. Red was going to say something about being called a littlein, but he let it slide.

Annalese glared at the creature from where she stood. Even though her anger was strong enough to make her not think about her stomach ache, she could still feel it. Her purple eyes narrowed as the sea creature extended its neck to the side. The way it was looking at her made her wonder. It seemed to be egging her to bite it. It were as if it expected her to bite it. That just made Annalese frown more at it. It was tempting but she refrained. Her usual food preference came from humans.
The commotion had been enough to attract the others, especially when the captain was involved. The way the sea critter told the captain to shut up suggested something was wrong.
As the others wandered over, the sea being eventually went below deck. 'I don't like those things...just what was that all about?' she wondered. She exchanged looks with her mercenary friends before looking back over at the first mate when he spoke. "Right."
With their orders, Jean and Rowen headed toward where the mast was. "We're here to help out with the mast?" Jean said uncertainly. Rowen looked around the given area. The sooner they got this over with, the better.
"Man this sucks, especially after we were nearly done with the previous sail." Jean nodded at that one in agreement. "Hm...I think I need a break...can I lean on you for a second?" Rowen said with a slight smirk on his face. Jean, knowing fully well Rowen wasn't tired, gave him a flat look.
"Nice try, Rowen!" she stated. Rowen just chuckled at her response.
"You're always fun to annoy."
------------------------------------------------
Annalese was once again put in the youngster group. "I'm not that young!" she grumbled. However, the sickly feeling she had from earlier soon revealed itself to be that of hunger pains again. 'I thought they'd stay away for a bit longer!' she thought uncertainly.
Right now, putting her with Red and Jeb wasn't a brilliant idea. Their blood smelled way too tempting. So much so, she found herself folding her arms and keeping her fists balled up, clenching them. It wasn't too obvious but there was some noticeable inner struggling going on.

Red had been swabbing the deck when he noticed Annalese's predicament. Perhaps he was right about her hunger after all. Red couldn't help but feel a drop of sweat travel down his neck. What if she wanted to feed from him again? Red's reaction too that thought was contradicting. While he was felt nervious about such a thought he felt thrill as well.
Still Red should at least inquire about what was wrong. "You alright?" It was a simple question. But depending on how Annalese answered there might be something had to consider.
-----------------------------
Captain White did his best to wear a blank expression. In all reality he was absolutely terrified. He had no control over the sea creatures. It couldn't be much longer until they noticed that as well. White was surprised before when the critter had actually done what he said.
He had to get them off the ship. That was the only way he could make sure that his crew was safe. But how was he going to do that? He couldn't just order them to leave. Not without a sound reason or a task to accomplish. That was what he needed. Some sort of task!
Captain White thought and thought hard. What could he order the sea creatures to do that would not only require all of them, but would send them a safe distance away until they reached the next island.
As he considered his posibilites a single idea came to him. It sounded absoultely stupid, but it might just work.
Captain White shouted from the wheel down to the first mate below. "Round the Sea Creatures. I got a task for them!" The first mate responded with a nod and rushed off.
--------------------------------------
Artemis found himself with not much to do. Part of him wanted to go back to the cell. After all standing here and doing nothing made him feel foolish. But the jailor had let him free. So what was he to do?
Glancing about the boat, his eyes fell on Jean and Rowen. It seemed they and some of the crew had been asked to help repair the sail. While Artemis was no sailor, he was useful when it came to phsyical labor.
Making his way over to the group of them he took a seat next to Jean. It seemed they needed to sew the holes in the sail first before they tried to fix the pole it was attached too. Taking a hold of a needle he quickly began working it through one of the holes. Of course he had no idea what he was doing, simply copying Jean and Rowen. And because of it he had picked up a needle without any thread in it. As a result he was simply making more holes in the sail.

Annalese shut her eyes and shook her head to try and clear her mind of the temptations that were standing nearby. She didn't expect her hunger to hit her so fast. At this rate, she might end up biting someone. Thankfully, she still had some will power. She would be able to stop herself if she did end up biting someone. The problem with that was the fact that people would freak out if they saw what she did. It was very hard for her to resist the blood running through Red's and Jeb's veins. Red's being more ripe and appealing in smell than Jeb's just because he was the age she drank from.
"This is torture!" she groaned to herself, turning her back to Red and Jeb and clutching her head between her hands. It was getting really troubling for her.
She sensed Red coming over and recoiled. If he got too close, she was scared of biting him. He was a friend, not something to eat even though she drank from his kind to survive. "N-No! Stay...back!" she said, obvious strain in her voice as she did.
She could smell fear in him but even a sense of thrill. That just only made it worse because it made him all the more tempting. She resorted to lightly beating herself over the head when she made to stand straight again because she had almost given in to her hunger.
-------------------------------------------------------
Jean was surprised to see the assassin out of the jail cell. "So, decided to join us outside, finally?" Rowen questioned him, trying to start friendly conversation. Jean looked over at the kid. He had to be no older than Red.
"Good to see you are well...as is expected." Which was true. She didn't think a simple attack like that would've killed him off so easily. He was as stubborn as she was when it came to survival it seemed, if not more so.
Quietly, she watched as he took a needle without a thread and tried to stitch the sail. He wasn't getting anywhere with it and it looked like if that kept up, he would only get frustrated that way. Gently, Jean placed a hand on his to try and stop him from continuing. "Hold on, you've forgotten something." Her tone of voice was gentle as she took out a thread roll and handed it to him.
"You need the thread to close the tear or you won't be able to." She smiled a little before showing him how to place the thread in the needle and how to proceed from there. "Like this, see?" she questioned him. If he needed more help, she was willing to teach him.
Rowen just raised a slight eyebrow at this but didn't say anything. Once again, he got to enjoy the sight of seeing Jean acting tender compared to her usual rough exterior.

Artemis eyed Jean. He watched her steady hand pushed the thread through the needle. Seemed easy enough. Taking a roll of thread and a needle he lined the needle with the thread and tried to push it through. Even for somoene with excelent eye cordination as himself, Artemis had a hard time getting that stupid little thread into the tiny hole in the needle.
But Artemis was not one to give up. It was that sort of attitude that had sent him chasing after Red for years now. The only reason he had stopped was because the game had changed. Well he had no idea what was going to happen now. People were after him as surely as they were after Red as well.
Eventually he succedded in the simple task. Then Artemis set to sewing along with the rest of them. He was not one who talked more then he needed to either. Artemis didn't show emotion all that often. Being trained as an assassin you learned to lock your emotions in a place where no one can see them. Made killing people alot easier.
Still Artemis gave Jean a genuine smile. He wasn't good at this showing emotion thing, but he was going to try and change that. He wasn't an assassin anymore. Now he was just a man on the run. A man whose life could end very quickly.
--------------------
Captain White looked down at the creatures. He had his best poker face on, and he hoped that the fear he was feeling right now was not being shown. These creatures could kill him at any moment. How much longer before the realized that?
Clearing his throat, White took a breath to steady himself. "I have a task for all of you. I require a mermaid. And I need one alive." The creatures just stared right back at him.
Was this it then? Did they already know? God had he just doomed his entire crew? Sweat dripped down the back of his neck and it took everything in him to not show his fear. After waht seemed like was forever, even though it was only a few seconds, the creatures nodded and one after another jumped over the ship and into the sea.
As the Captain watched the last of them jump, he let go of the breath he held. That would stall them for perhaps a few days, but no longer. They needed to get moving and by the end of the day. Captain White walked over to the edge of the railing. He called down to the group below sewing the sail. "Get that thing repaired. I want to start sailing by nightfall."
-----------------------
Red was unaware of the events of the ship. At the moment his concern was only for Annalese. He held his hands up in a sign of no harm. "Annalese.... Listen to me. Your in pain. You need to feed."
Then Red did something that was probably very stupid of him. He began to close the distance between them. He never moved his hands from out of the open though. "You fed on me before... Just feed on me again. It'll be fine. You need to eat or your going to start attacking other people on the ship."

Even though the assassin did nothing at first, just simply watched her, she knew showing him some kindness was a big step to trying to befriend him. She would rather they be on the same side rather than fighting each other again. He was a warrior to be respected for one so young. He was able to keep up with her. A level not many could reach, especially at his age. Maybe, with time, they would all be friends and there would be no more worries about him trying to kill any of them?
She watched him attempt to thread a needle. At first, he didn't get it right the first time but he was determined enough. Eventually, he was able to work like she was.
Jean returned the smile he gave her before resuming work on the sail at the beckoning of the captain.
----------------------------------------------------
Annalese just kept her head between her hands, holding it tightly as Red spoke to her. How that she was causing herself pain and that she just needed to feed. She knew that but she didn't want to feed off of a friend or the crew. If she did, she'd sever what friendship she had or the crew would end up killing her friends because of her. She didn't want either of those things happening. Not to mention the fact how freaked out the crew would get once they saw her biting someone.
"I can't!" she said, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. The last thing she wanted was to bite a friend. As he closed the distance between them, Annalese shrunk away in a vain attempt to keep herself at bay. She was huddled like a cornered animal at this point as she shook her head.
"No!" she said, fighting hard to keep herself from doing him harm.

((OOC: Sorry for the short post.))
Red didn't stop. He was going to have to take the initiative, just like the last time. Red didn't hesitate. Well if Annalese wasn't going to do anything he would. Taking his wrist, Red cut into it with his fingers. It hurt and didn't make a big cut, but it did draw blood.
Blood trickled down his arm. It was a few drops, but it should be enough for Annalese. "Stop bieng stubborn and trust me. If you drink too much I'll stop you!" Red was raising his voice now. This was getting ridiculious. Red was willing to share his blood. Annalese needed to trust him to tell him to stop.
At this point Red didn't care what everyone was thinking. Things were more important then others. He was a little glad that Jean was busy with the sail. She would most likely think this was a ridiculious / completely stupid idea.

Annalese was on edge as Red continued to approach her. Anything could result in her biting him if he wasn't careful. She knew it too, that was why she kept fighting the urge to bite him. Whenever a vampire got really hungry, it was dangerous. Annalese could accidentally drain him of all his blood and kill him. That and it could jeopardize their stay on the ship. No one would want a vampire amongst them.
Hearing Red's words about her being stubborn, she glared up at him despite her distress. "I could kill you!" she snarled. However, all protestations were abruptly ceased when the smell of blood filled the air.
Her hunger was so great, instincts kicked in instead. Now, she completely lost herself. She couldn't control her hunger anymore. If Jean were here, she would've probably smacked Red over the head for doing something she would see as foolish. A tear ran down Annalese's face as she looked at the injury with blood flowing from Red's arm.
Unable to control herself anymore, Annalese stood right up. Grabbing the arm Red had injured, she brought it up to her mouth and began to suck at the area where he made the wound. If he were paying attention, he would've probably felt a light prick where her fangs punctured the skin. Hopefully, nothing would happen to Red.
-----------------------------------------
Unaware of what Red was doing, Jean continued to work on the sail. As she did so, she would have to occasionally give Rowen an unhappy look now and then. His remarks were beginning to annoy her.

The feeling of Annalese drinking his blood was the same as before. It drove him very close into esctasy. There was little to no pain invovled. That was not good. Vaguly Red recognized this as he was almost drawn into a hypnotic state. He felt weaker and weaker by the second that really didn't matter.
Red didn't know how long Annalese drank his blood, but he vaugely found himself slowly falling to his knees. Annalese must have fell with him cause he still felt blood being drained. Something inside him tried to tell him that he should stop. But it was so faint he didn't even recognize it.
As more blood flowed it became slightly stronger. Still Red was in ecstasy. Having his blood drained felt good. Why? He didn't know. But it sure of hell did.
"I can last a little longer."[/i] He thought to himself. Once Annalese stopped the feeling would be stopped. If anyone was watching they would notice that Red was very quickly growing more and more pale.
That voice was now loud enough in his head to tell him that he needed to tell Annalese to stop. Opening his lips he found himself only being able to very softly whisper Annalese's name. It wasn't loud enough to hear. And even though part of Red wanted to panic, the other part was to busy enjoying himself.
Red was practically white as Annalese now. He continued to try to call her name, but his voice was weaker and weaker. "I'm going to die..."[/i] The thought was vague in the mix of emotions.
All of a sudden though a force slammed in-between Annalese and Red. It was like someone had slammed an invisible wall into them and threw them apart from each other. Red found Lakari standing between them, facing Annalese.
While Red could not see Lakari, Annalese could. His face was murderous. Gone was the face of the kind and gentle man. In its place was such a look that it spoke volumes itself. It said "I will kill you". It was a voice that did not fit the doctor's personality. It was the look of a very different man. But the look lasted only a second. Back was the kind old man.
"Annalese, Red you two should know better. Are both of you alright?" The "kind" old man asked.

Annalese, due to the hunger, had no idea that she was getting a bit over board. Right now, all her mind thought about was self nourishment. She needed the blood to live, after all. If Red hadn't given her blood, she would've been under the threat of dying off. Vampires died when they didn't sustain themselves. It wasn't pretty either, they would shrivel up and die. Some even turned into dust and blew away with the wind.
Red's blood tasted really good. It was hard for her not to savor the taste. With each drink she took, her consciousness and train of thought was briefly returning to her. Soon, she would have enough self control to stop herself.
When she started to feel better, she opened her eyes to look at Red's condition. What she saw horrified her. Just like she had told him, Red seemed like he was close to dying. Realizing that she was doing him harm, Annalese began to release her hold on him in preparations to stop. However, another force saw to it that she had stopped altogether.
As if some sort of wall came between them and sent them flying back from one another, Annalese shook her head as if she had just been punched. Blinking, she looked around to see what had happened just then. Looking over, she found Red, still weakened from what she had done, on one side and Lakari right smack in the middle of them. The look on his face was nothing of the gentle old man she had seen last time.
Instead, it looked accusing and as if he would do her harm. Already, Annalese felt a deep sense of shame. Even still, she couldn't help being what she was. It was that sense of shame that made her an outcast to her own brother. He always picked on her for her sense of remorse for their 'food' as he would call the human species. Maybe it was wrong of her to think making friends with a human would work?
Knowing that what she did had almost killed her only friend, Annalese cast down her gaze from Lakari in shame. Maybe she shouldn't have come? "...No. Please give Red more attention."
After what happened, it really made her wonder if Lakari would actually consider killing her now after that even though he asked whether she and Red were alright. Had he just been angry over what happened or because of what happened, would he do her harm now? If so, Annalese couldn't really blame him. She had almost drained Red of all his blood. Now that she thought about it, sitting up, she could help Red's predicament. Since he had given her blood, she could give him some of her's to make him feel better. The benefits that came to a mortal from a vampire of her rank could do wonders. It wouldn't turn him either.
"I...I was...hungry and...tried to stop myself but he...he made me. He was trying to help me." Tears fell from her face as she admitted this. No matter how she looked at it, she was a monster trying to live in a world of normal beings. There seemed like there was no way of trying to be like them since it all came down to being what she was. Even still, she wanted to repent for what she did. Unlike turned vampires, full blooded ones had a special gift about them.
"L-Lakari...I can...I can make him better if you'll just let me give him some of my blood." She hoped the old man would at least listen to her even if he denied her of trying. She had almost killed him, after all. It would be understandable if he didn't trust her after that.

Red was to dazed to say anything. But Lakari was not. He turned to Annalese. "Yes, your blood might help." Lakari seemed to be acting as if he hadn't shown Annalese the look at all. "It wasn't your fault child. You can't help what you are."
Lakari seemed to let out a held in breath. He turned over to Red. Feeling his pulse, he nodded. "Vitals seem alright. You just need to rest. Annalese's blood will help. I need to return to the other patients." Without waiting for another second he walked away.
Red noticed Annalese. He gave her a small smile. It was the most he could manage. She was alright now. That was all that really mattered to him. He didn't care much about himself. As long as his friends were safe thats all that really mattered. He didn't blame her. This had been his idea and it was his responsibility.
------------------------
As Lakari made his way down the steps that lead to the sleeping quarters he paused in the middle of the stare case. Now that no one was around he finally unclenched his tightened fists. That foolish vampire! If Red died now she would ruin everything! All of their hard planning would be for nothing!
Lakari's fist suddenly exploded into motion and banged against the wall. With the force of the punch one would have thought that Lakari would break his hand. But instead he made a small crator in the wall. Letting go a sigh of his anger Lakari once again put on the mask of the kind and gentle man.
He only had to venture with this idiots for a little while longer. Then he could shed off this mask for good. Lakari was very much enjoying the thoughts of what he would do to their little group of friends. He would torture them till they begged him to let them die.
Red, he would like to see die most of all! The boy was arrogant and annoying and constantly almost getting himself killed. Sadly Lakari could not touch the boy. He belonged to the Master.

Annalese was cautious with the elderly human. Any wrong move could result in him attacking her. Cautiously, she kept her distance as she suggested injecting some of her own blood into him to help Red. Surprisingly, the elderly man agreed to let her do it. So, he didn't think she would try to kill Red. That was good, Annalese wasn't intentionally trying to kill Red. After drinking his blood, Annalese was sane again and wasn't hungry anymore.
Her uneasiness about the human put her mind to some ease although she found herself still wary around Lakari. Something just didn't seem right with that look he had given her but then again, almost anyone would have reacted in that fashion.
When Lakari took his leave of them, Annalese wandered over to Red and knelt beside him. Seeing his small smile, as if trying to reassure her, Annalese gave him a sad look. "I'm sorry, Red."
Gently, lifting him up and exposing his neck, Annalese cracked her own neck from side to side and concentrated on her fangs. One would think she was trying to drain Red again but in reality, this is what she had to do in order to inject some of her blood into him to restore his strength. "This might hurt a bit, please don't be scared. I won't kill you, Red."
After that, Annalese bared her fangs, the tips dripping with a darkened liquid different from that of human's blood. Sinking her fangs into his neck, Red would soon begin to feel, after the initial prick, energy coming back to him and then some. After all, Annalese's blood was vampire's blood. Vampire's were naturally stronger than humans and injecting him with it would make him stronger.
When she was sure she had injected him with enough, Annalese licked the puncture wounds on his neck making them seal up before pulling her face away and letting him go. "Do you feel better?" she questioned him. Her blood alone would make Red's human senses as sensitive as her own, it would make him stronger and he'd have some of her abilities to boot. What was even better about it all was that he wouldn't burn from the sunlight either or be blinded by the light or bothered by anything vampires would be since he was still human, just infused with vampire's blood.
------------------------------------------------
Below deck, Sain heard a curious sound. It sounded as if something had just been bashed. Frowning to himself, turning away from the blond pirate whose arm he was tending to, Sain wandered toward the edge of the stairway leading down. There, he saw Lakari standing with his fist implanted into the wall. There was a small crater there!
"...Everything...alright, Lakari?" Sain asked him curiously. It looked like he was stressed over something but he didn't know what. Since the man had healing powers of a caliber Sain didn't, he was eager to learn something from him in hopes of restoring Rowen's eye's sight.
-------------------------------------------------
By the time all that had ended, Jean looked at the work they had done finally. The sail appeared to be finished or close to it. During that time, she had pulled Rowen's eye patch and released it to snap into his face to correct him a few times for his embarrassing comments he kept tossing her way. Oddly enough, she seemed to like it and didn't understand why.
'I think I'm losing it.' She glanced over at the assassin. Had he found a name for himself to go by?
"Not trying to be nosy or anything but...have you ever called yourself as anything? Have you been thinking of a name for yourself?" she questioned him. It was sad that he didn't seem to live with a name to him. If it came down to it, she wouldn't mind trying to help him find a name he'd like and suite him too. After all, everyone deserved to have a name.

Lakari gazed up. He had thought he was out of ear shot. Gazing at the man he suddenly found himself forced with having to act. This much display of power was not something Sain should have seen. Lakari had purposely tried to make himself seem powerless and weak. Understanding the human mind, Lakari knew just what learning different would do.
He had spent years studying the human mind and healing people. That part of his history was true. But with Sain knowing different it gave reason for the man to doubt him. Lakari was forced to act. So act he did.
He practically flew down the stairs. He managed to grab a hold of his forehead. Upon contact Lakari attempted to enter the man's mind. He was hoping surprise would help him. If Sain reacted this would turn into a fight. If not, then Lakari could erase what just happened in his mind.
-----------------------
Red glanced up. He was surprise to find himself staring at Annalese. She had given him her blood. He still tasted it in his mouth. "Um... yes." He said slightly off balance. He was feeling better though.
Slowly he rose. He felt still a bit weak, but he was no where near fainting thankfully. Just very very tired. Red turned to Annalese. "Could you help me down below... I'm feeling tired, I think I better lay down."
-------------------------
Artemis looked up. He actually smiled. For once he was happy about something. "I actually found out my real name. It was one of the things I did manage to find out. It's Loki. Artemis Loki."

Sain hadn't suspected the old man of anything. However, he was admittedly amazed by the fact that the old man had that much strength in him. Looking at him, one wouldn't think he had it in him. It just goes to show even the elderly could surprise you. How he had that much reserve in him, Sain could only wonder. Maybe there was something more to this Lakari than they knew?
Just as this ran through his mind, Lakari suddenly shot down toward him at an alarming rate. The old man was so fast, it certainly startled Sain. "What the-?!" he exclaimed. Sain hardly even had time to make that out.
Before he could react, some sort of mental probe entered his mind.
-------------------------------------------------------
Annalese examined Red as he seemed to wake up more thanks to her blood. Right now, he would be feeling tired but once the blood coursed through his veins some more, he would surely start to notice the effects it had on his body. She hadn't changed him but he would soon understand some parts of being a vampire. Parts he probably wouldn't want to notice.
"I am glad. Just so you know, the blood will cause....affects to your body. I didn't change you, so they won't be permanent but...you will sense things like I do and see things like I do as well as feel. You will technically be like a vampire without the thirst or weakness of the sun burning your flesh." She had to explain it because...well, to a human it might be a bit overwhelming what he'd be able to sense or feel.
When he said he was alright, she sighed with relief. Hearing what he said next, she nodded. "Alright, let us go then." With that, she stood up, supporting Red's weight as if he didn't have any weight to him. With that, she started for below decks.
---------------------------------------------------------
Rowen listened as the assassin spoke, finally saying what his real name was. Artemis Loki. That name didn't sound familiar to Rowen but it certainly did to Jean. Not the first name but the surname sounded rather familiar. Where had she heard it before?
"Huh, Artemis Loki, eh? Glad you found out your name...strange though, I could've sworn I heard Loki somewhere else before..." she trailed off into thought. Where had she heard it? Of course, the answer was quite obvious but since she didn't normally call a certain someone by his last name often, she wouldn't know.
"Well, good to know, Artemis. You can call me, Rowen!" Rowen greeted him finally, offering a hand to shake Artemis's. Might as well get friendly if they could. There was no reason right now for them to fight. All Rowen tried to do, back when they did fight, was protect Jean from death and that had been from Red's accidental attack.

Lakari smiled in success. Good! He had moved in enough time to enter the lad's mind. Now it was a very simple process. Entering Sain's mind, Lakari followed the flows of thought. It seemed the man was a bit shocked yet at the same time scared as well. After all at the moment Sain would be able to tell very easily that there was someone else in his mind.
The first thing Lakari did was block the man's mind from the rest of his body. It was like putting a blockade around the brain. Any thought that tried to make the body move was blocked. With that set in place, Sain would not be able to physically stop Lakari.
Next was to dive deeper into his mind. It didn't take long for Lakari to find Sain's memorys. It was like watching a computer screen. Watching them all pass one after another. There was no way for Lakari too destroy a memory. But he could alter it. Which was percisely what had to happen.
Lakari decided it would be best to replace himself with a pirate Sain had been working on earlier. Of course by doing this he had to alter the pirate with a random passerby from deeper within Sain's memorys. After all he couldn't just move one figure from one memory without replacing it. Especially since the memory was so recent.
By pulling up a figure from the distant past, it would be more likely for him to not see an iregularity. However the moment that Sain did, things would start snapping back into place. And this memory would resurface as it originally was. Feeling confident that this was enough, Lakari quickly exited.
-------------------
Red slowly walked down the steps with Annalese. He was surprised to see Sain and Lakari at the bottom of the stairs. Lakari was standing very close to Sain, but Red didn't pay much attention to it. He was a bit worried about the side effects that Annalese had just spoken of, but since they had yet to surface he wasn't too worried.
Taking a seat on one of the empty beds he gave Annalese a small smile. "I think I'm going to sleep for a little bit. I'll worry about those side effects later." He told her.
-----------------------
Artemis nodded to Rowen. He had not known the man's name before. Continuing his work, Artemis gave Jean a smile. Things were going better then he hoped. Hopefully it wouldn't be much more longer before they started moving again.

Of course, Sain was scared. Who wouldn't be at the sudden touch of someone else's mind in their own? When he started to get over the shock, he made to move but Lakari had already gotten to that point of Sain's brain to separate commands going to the body for that. He was now quite helpless as Lakari searched through his memories.
Mentally, when he knew his thoughts were being invaded, Sain tried to struggle with the force in his mind but it was to no avail. After his initial surprise, it had given the old man an advantage over him.
Before he knew what happened, his memory of the crater in the wall caused by Lakari was replaced by a pirate in the old man's place. Blinking, Sain could no longer remember why Lakari had his hand on his head.
"Wh-What?"
---------------------------------------------------------
As Annalese supported Red, she stiffened at the sight of Lakari. She had remembered the look he had given her previously. Even if it seemed like he had forgiven her, she was still wary around him. It wasn't that she could sense anything was wrong with him since her senses only went so far. However, she was cautious because she was afraid he'd react to her like that again.
"E-Excuse us!" she said as she and Red passed by them.
When they got to a bed for Red to rest on, Annalese settled him down and peered at him curiously when he spoke. "I think your kind would consider them as benefits rather than side effects. Rest well, Red."
---------------------------------------------------------
Continuing her work, along with Rowen and Artemis, Jean couldn't help but wonder about the last name. She was certain she knew it from somewhere. 'Who could it be?'
