Who would have thought that a world like Halloween Town had a cafe. Then again it was such an interesting thought that had pulled smiles to it in the first place. What sort of food and drink would such a place serve? Such interesting questions with so many possible answers. And if there was one thing that Smiles favored it was the unique and particular.
He was a teenager at the prime of his teens. Eighteen years old and not too bad looking either. With black shaggy hair and bangs that drop down the side of his face naturally, his bright blues eyes were naturally wide.
Currently he donned an open black suit coat with a stripped white and blue fleece shirt underneath. In addition he wore black dress pants and black shoes. He looked professional yet casual at the same time.
He sipped at the strangest drink he ever heard. It was green and bubbled like some sort of mad scientists potion. Yet it had a sweet taste to it. Apparently it was all the rage. Smiles didn't really understand why, but it didn't really matter.
Besides himself there were a couple of others in odd outfits. None seemed to care too much that he was a very normal looking person. The bartender was a mummy. Which was odd as well seeing as his head was wrapped yet somehow he could see. It was all very interesting.
Smiles turned to the bartender. He had several reasons for coming here today. "I've heard that there will be a festival in a couple of days." Smiles said casually with a smile.
The bartender gave a nod of the head. He spoke through the cloth, and although his voice was muffled, it still came through loud enough to hear. "Yep. Tonight is all Hallows Eve. Tomorrow we shall have a parade and party like you've never seen. Jacks planning it all."
Ah. So the skeleton was planning said party. "Do you get a lot of outsiders?" He asked casually.
The mummy nodded again. "They come from all over. Most will be arriving tonight. The others tomorrow morning. The Inns here will be full to the brim."
Smiles nodded at that. He had secured a place at one of the many "haunted" inns, as the natives called it. Smiles was counting on people coming here. "And what about the heartless? How do you deal with them and all the visitors?"
The mummy smiled at that. It was odd to see a smile through a bandaged head. "Well normally Jack takes care of those creatures. But don't you worry sir. There's a certain man who excels in defeating just those pests. He'll be arriving tonight as well."
Smiles smiled. Oh he was counting on that. He was counting on that fact very very much. "And what inn does he normally stay in?" Smiles asked the mummy.
"Why he's got reservations here of course. He stays here every year."
Nodding, Smiles reached into his pocket and pulled out a small green envelope. "Well when he arrives be sure to give him this envelope. Just a token of my thanks to a hero." The mummy took the envelope and placed it under the bar.
Finishing his drink, Smiles handed the skeleton chalice back to the bartender. "Thank you sir...?" The mummy asked.
Smiles gave him a simple tip of the hat gesture, which seemed a bit odd since he didn't really have a hat. "Smiles." The mummy nodded once more and Smiles left the building.

Ivory Quentin looked around at where she found herself. Since their Gummi Ship had malfunctioned, Ivory woke up in this strange world. Having split up with her twin brother, Darius, she had become rather lost. The thought of not being able to find her way disturbed her greatly. Without her older twin brother around, she was at a loss. It gave her anxiety to think that she might not see him for a while yet.
Walking around, she didn't at all like the setting she had come upon. The woods here were all foreboding and the place was rather glum. 'What have I gotten myself into?' she wondered, walking around aimlessly.
Having not set a foot in Halloweentown before, it was no wonder that Ivory wouldn't know her way around. After what seemed like an hour of wandering with no lead, she finally came across something that she assumed would lead her to somewhere. Looking at a cobbled path that lead past wrought iron gates, she spotted the strangest looking curved hill amongst what appeared to be tombstones. 'Looks like I'm near some sort of cemetery!' she thought.
Assuming the cemetery would eventually lead to a town or city, Ivory followed the path right past the gates to a set of old and worn stone steps. Biting her lip a bit, Ivory looked at the exit before her. On top of the stone walls appeared to be the most sinister looking gargoyles she had ever seen. This place really gave her the creeps as she pulled on the latch to an old wooden door.
As it creaked open, she couldn't help but feel her heart beat quicken. It was too eerie here and she didn't think she liked the look of things. Stepping through the pathway, she found herself at what appeared to be a small town square. Looking around, she wasn't so sure if she liked the looks of it either. It wasn't anymore welcoming than the woods she had been wandering in. The guillotine in the center sent an unpleasant chill up her spine.
Since she wasn't a local, it wouldn't be hard to spot her considering she wasn't in costume. All she had was casual clothing that resembled a student somewhat. Her hair was midnight black and her bright blue eyes stood out more than ever because of her dark hair. 'Where the heck am I?' she wondered, tentatively walking over to the guillotine and peering upward at a signpost. Upon it read 'Halloweentown'.
"Halloweentown?" she muttered to herself. Why would a place be called such a name used for a holiday? As she stared upward at it, an unwelcome sound reached her ears. It was the sound of things popping into existence all around her. Turning, she found that she was outnumbered six to one with Heartless of the strangest sort. They were lanky and thin and seemed to be wrapped up in bandages. Apparently, the Heartless looked as though they were in costume pretending to be mummies.
Frowning, Ivory pulled out the black dragon miniature statuette. Clasping her hand about it firmly, she was engulfed in a bright purple light. When the light faded, she was still seen standing there but this time she was adorned in pitch black armor. The armor, although metallic, resembled a dragon because of the way it had wings, a tail and the helmet even had horns fashioned out from the side of it near the temporal regions. It made her seem like a living mecha or Gundam to those who had seen them before. In her hands, two katanas had appeared as she prepared for battle.
Two came right for her and she reacted. Using two sideways slashes, she managed to cut them in two. As they dispersed, she turned to face the remaining four, determination in her icy blue eyes. Her focus on the enemies were so great that she didn't see if any passersby or townies came out of any of the nearby buildings.

They had really dressed the place up. Everything was in tip top shape for the upcoming festival. In fact Smiles noted some of the floating pumpkins and even the streams that hung from the lamp posts. Give it to the people of Halloween Town to not know how to dress the town up festive style. There attempts had only made the place look even creepier then it normally was.
The cafe Smiles had exited out of was located right off the Main Square. Seeing as the Main Square was the center of the town, there would be no getting to his inn without going through it. The heartless tended to gather there more so then almost anywhere else.
There weren't many people awake at such a time of the day, so it was no wonder that Smiles did not encounter a single passerby before entering the Main Square. When he did, the first thing he noticed was the festivities. They had set up the large platform where the mayor would doubtlessly be making his speech later that day.
And of course there were the random pumpkins covering the area as well. "You would think there would be something more festive then floating pumpkins..."[/i] Smiles thought. He of course was very aware that there were heartless. Not that they were all that interesting. Such creatures were simple fools and annoyances.
They came in various forms, which sometimes interested him, but usually for not long. And he never got to really study them anyway. They'd try to kill him, and so of course he was forced to kill them right back. Killing heartless was boring. No challenge at all! And how could something be interesting if it wasn't even a challenge?
Smiles hung around in the background as he watched a newcomer appear on the scene. Now this was interesting! Apparently Smiles wasn't the only foreigner in this town. How odd to see such a girl arrive who was so obviously clueless to her surroundings. Not only that but she seemed to not even know where in the world she was.
Turning his head slightly Smiles watched the heartless come from the background. Oh it seemed the heartless were going to take another heart. It didn't matter much to Smiles. If someone wasn't smart enough to be aware of her surroundings how could she ever hope to carry any interest.
When the creatures popped from the ground, Smiles was a bit surprised to see the girl call forth strange black armor and withdraw two kantanas. "How.... interesting an ability." Smiles thought to himself, watching the girl attack two of the heartless with her blades.
Smiles couldn't let such an opportunity pass him up. His interest had been perked. And woe to those who stood in his way! Bringing his hands together, Smiles fused dark and light energy to create a single pistol in his hand. It was black and white both with one side being black, the other white. With such casualty, he raised his weapon and the sound of gunshots rung through the air.
Four energy bullets flew through the air to collide with the remaining four heartless. They were no match for such an attack and so dispersed.

Ivory's nerves were on edge. She had seen what atrocities the Heartless had done. Where they were weaker individually for the most part, they were quite a nuisance when they were in groups. Even small groups could pose a problem to someone. Having once fought her way out of a world infested with them, her own homeworld, Ivory had learned a thing or two on how to take care of them. These ones were different but they all perished just the same. Her swords were quite sharp and had eliminated two cleanly.
Now, there were just four left for her to deal with. The Heartless, seeing two of their number defeated, starting to close in intending to possibly attack her all at once. Bracing herself, Ivory considered what options she would use next. Should she resort to one of the magical abilities her armor contained or should she just get out of their range and resume with her swords?
Another acting force answered that very question for her. Instead of her having to continue on fighting, several gunshots ran through the air. Instinctively, Ivory dropped to the ground with her swords held at the ready. Uncertain where the gunshots came from or who their intended target was, Ivory looked warily about. When she saw the Heartless disperse, all four of them, she stood straight up again and looked around in confusion. "Huh?" she exclaimed.
As she turned, the metal wings and tail seemed to move as if they were actually attached to her and alive. When she spotted the figure whom had aided her with his gun, she couldn't help but look back at him curiously. Was he a local? She wasn't sure but she knew a fellow human being when she saw one. At least that is what he appeared to be.
Unlike Darius, her twin, she wasn't as outgoing as he was. Looking back at Smiles, she wasn't exactly sure how to react. Right now, she was a bit worried if he intended to shoot her now that the other targets were gone. 'If he wanted to kill me though, he probably would have done it by now!' she thought. After all, she had no idea how strong her armor was against bullets. Who was to say if he wouldn't shoot though in a spot that was open enough though?
Figuring this figure didn't mean her any immediate harm, Ivory spoke. "Um...th-thank you." Unintentionally, she already revealed somewhat of what sort of personality she had. She was the more passive sort. The type that were easier to manipulate and hold under one's control. Ivory wasn't at all the assertive type and it showed in her eyes as she looked back at Smiles uncertainly. It was clear she wasn't sure what to make of him.
She would tread carefully here. Being in a strange world, she was only wary of him because of the fact this place was creepy. Otherwise, she wouldn't have found him all that unsettling. After all, he seemed to be normal in appearance. Probably the sort women would dote over just because of his looks. The coloring of his gun was different. Maybe it was custom made? It was black and white, two toned.

Smiles could see the uncertainty on her face. It made him smile in thought. "Interesting personality it seems too." He thought to himself. Walking over to her casually, Smiles put both of his hands on his gun. Then he as he separated them the light and dark energy he had used to create them retracted. This made the gun disappear as the energy disappeared back into his hands.
Once he had reached over to where she stood he gave her a look up and down. She had yet to retract her armor and it was obvious that Smiles was studying it. "Interesting..." He said aloud as he examined her wings. Not every armor he knew of had wings.
"You obviously don't belong here." He told her upright. There was no way she was a native of this town. Not that it mattered to him to much. He wanted to touch the armor and see how hard it was and how much it weighed. Only the fact that the girl would take it as an offense made him stay back.
He finally pulled away from the armor and looked at the girl who wore it. "So what are you doing here then?"

Ivory watched as the unknown youth approached her casually. Seeing him grab his gun, it made her wary even though she didn't show it except for maybe her eyes. When he simply split it in two right before her very eyes, she saw it disperse. 'Whew! Guess he doesn't really mean me harm right now then!' she thought, her nerves calming down somewhat. Since he was more normal looking than their current vicinity, she was able to find slight comfort knowing she had encountered someone who might know where they were.
She blinked over at him when he stopped before her and looked at her up and down. Such a thing always made someone else wary. Maybe it was because of the armor she was wearing? Not many were used to seeing it, after all. Even on Meadows, she and her brother had to conceal their armor from the public eye just because of the unwanted attention it would spark up. 'I should have been more careful!' she thought, scolding herself.
She raised an eyebrow slightly when the boy uttered only one word 'interesting'. Even as he studied her wings, they moved, flapping only slightly so that she did not get propelled into the air. Her armor's tail swayed to and fro behind her. Wings and tail acting as if they were an actual attachment to Ivory.
"Pardon?" she replied to his single uttered word. It didn't take him long to mention up front that she wasn't a native of this world. Well, of course she wasn't. If she were, she wouldn't be scared of this place. That and with him so close, inspecting her armor made her feel sort of weird.
She nodded at what he said. "You're right...I'm not."
Ivory watched as he pulled away from the armor to finally ask her what she was doing here. Well, honestly, she wasn't sure how she ended up here. Her brother was obviously not around. "I got lost. I'm looking for my twin brother, have you seen anyone with black hair, blue eyes around my age too?" she questioned him.

A twin? Even more interesting. A twin separated from each other. It had a sort of poetic feel to it. Glancing back at her he couldn't help but smile. "There is no one here by that description. If you were looking for a skeleton man, or perhaps an undead zombie, and even a laughing ghost wouldn't be too hard to find. But someone like you and I? Never under the normal circumstances."
Of course there were other things that Smiles wasn't mentioning. The first being that there would be a lot of humans here come tonight and tomorrow. Also the circumstances weren't normal. How could they be when it was Hallows Eve? The line between the dead and the living were weakest tomorrow night. And many of the dead would be joining the living for the festival tomorrow.
Of course the heartless would be more active as well tonight and tomorrow. When there were a lot of people there were bound to be a lot of heartless. It would be best not to venture around the town when night came. But Smiles said nothing of that either.
"I would watch yourself. Perhaps your brother might appear tonight? Or perhaps he won't appear at all? How to tell?" Smiles seemed to ponder the question, even though it was said mostly to himself.
Giving a shrug he gave her his regular tip of the hat. "I would find a place to stay though. They will be arriving in vast amounts later tonight. And a room won't be able to be found then."
Finished giving his advice he turned to leave. If she wanted to ask him anything she would have to follow him.

Ivory was dismayed when she heard that he hadn't seen anyone fitting that description. Her shoulders drooped a little but she soon regained her composure. Her weapons were lowered so that he didn't think she would be attacking him. There was no reason for her to attack this individual. She tilted her head to the side and furrowed an eyebrow in confusion when he went on to describe how finding a mummy, undead zombie or a ghost would be easier. Maybe he meant the locals? This sure didn't look like a normal place, that was for sure.
"...Oh." She didn't know what else to say to that. Looked like she was one of the minorities in this strange world. All the more reason for her to be more careful now that she was here. There was no telling how the locals treated people that weren't from this world.
She looked back over at the strange young man as he spoke to her again. This time, he was warning her to watch out and trying to tell her there was still a chance her brother might show up here. Looking around, she wondered if he would ever come to a place like this. Darius was much braver than she was so it wouldn't surprise her if he did. Then again, how would he know of this world if he wasn't in the same one? She didn't even know if he ended up here too. "W-Well...I hope he does come here..." she half spoke to him and to herself.
If Darius never showed up, where would she go next? She didn't know as she looked around uncertainly. She was lost, that much was certain. Still, she wasn't stupid. She might be milder than Darius but she wasn't a fool. If she had to, she would be able to figure things out if left to her own devices and not influenced by others. Besides, no matter what happened, she had enough faith in her heart to know her brother would eventually pull her out of something she couldn't get out of. If she just let that go, she'd lose what drive she had.
Ivory looked back at him as he went on to give her advice on what she should do. According to him, 'they' will be coming in vast numbers later tonight and by then there would be no rooms left. Did he mean the Heartless? She cast an unsure glance over her shoulder as if half expecting to see the sinister things. None were there but it was an unsettling thing to think.
Hearing footsteps, she turned to see the only normal looking being in the whole place was now leaving. How am I suppose to even find a place in a creepy place like this?' she wondered. Well, he seemed to know his way around, maybe she could ask him? He didn't seem all that bad.
Figuring it was now pointless to clunk around with her armor still on, Ivory extended a hand to the side with her hand parallel to the stony, cobbled ground. As she did so, the armor blew away with a wind that came from nowhere. In that very hand, the miniature black dragon statuette appeared in her hand again and she pocketed it.
'Hope he doesn't find me annoying!' she thought as she decided there was no other choice but to follow him.
"E-Excuse me!" she said, hurrying to catch up to him.
"I hate to bother you but...where would I even find a place in a place like...this?"

Smiles didn't wait for her to catch up. He just kept on walking. As he strolled out of the Main Square and into a more building and street area, he answered her question. "Well that depends on a lot of things. Places it seems is your problem."
Not bothering to expand, Smiles turned a corner and came to a stop at what looked like a dark and scary castle. "A place like this can provide excellent lodging. There is a kind old man in a wheel chair and his... fortunate creation. An excellent place for someone missing an arm or wants to donate one."
Passing by, Smiles came to a stop in front of a gate. It led to a cemetery with an odd dog house in the corner. It was large enough for a large dog to sleep. "Take this for example. An excellent place for those who need no bed and prefer a night under the stars. They do have trouble with the pets though."
By pets, Smiles spoke of heartless of course. They were highly populated in that cemetery. Leaving that he came at last to the inn he was staying at. "But of course you will most likely want to stay here."
With that he began to head inside. It would be up to her if she wished to go inside or not. He had shown her a place to stay. And given her a small part of the place as well.

Ivory didn't take long to catch up since all she had to do was move at a swifter pace to do so. However, he hadn't slowed down to make it any easier for her. Not that she was going to complain since she was intruding on his time. When she caught up, she waited for an answer, if any. The pair of them came into an area with more buildings around compared to the Main Square. As he spoke, mentioning how places are a problem for her, she wondered what he meant by that.
As they turned a corner, her eyes fell upon a large, dark and eerie looking castle. When he spoke, mentioning how there was an old man that lived here with a creation of some sort, she couldn't help but feel reminded about Frankenstein. At the mention of people being welcome to stay if they were missing a limb or thinking of donating one, Ivory sweat dropped. 'Definitely not staying there, I don't want to end up an experiment!' she thought uneasily.
Next, they wandered up to an iron gate. As he stopped before it, she wandered over near him to look out into where the gate lead. There, she saw what looked to be a cemetery and a large doghouse. According to him, those who didn't mind the stars would be able to rest there except they had a pet problem. Looking at it, she knew that she wouldn't want to end up a meal for some kind of gigantic dog if there was one that lived around here. That and it looked like the kind of place Heartless would love to reside.
At this point, she was wondering if this guy understood what she meant by what she said. 'Maybe I should've been a bit more specific?' she wondered sheepishly.
Leaving behind the doghouse and cemetery, they came upon another building. Ivory could only wonder about this one, thinking she might be shown all sorts of random places at this point. When she saw it though, her mind was put at ease. It looked like some sort of Inn. When he spoke, she nodded in agreement. Yes, this is exactly where she originally intended to go.
"Thank you again!" she said, taking a step inside along after him. Was this maybe the only inn? She wasn't sure since he had gone inside as well. When she took a look at what lay inside, it seemed like an old, dusty inn. Well, she wasn't sure how to describe its condition since the place seemed as if it were deliberately decorated to look this way.
She paused and couldn't help but look at the figure behind the service desk though. Standing there was a figure one would expect to come from a horror movie or something someone would wear on Halloween. It looked like some kind of person wearing an old, ragged sack over their head. At where the eyes should be, there were holes cut into the sack and the physical eyelids appeared to be sown shut. It made the hairs on the back of her neck raise a little. Ivory certainly didn't like this world one bit. It was way too creepy! Were all the locals like this one?
'When I find Darius, I'm going to slap him on the back of the head for this even if it is an accident!' she thought.

Smiles saw the innkeeper and simply gave him a friendly hello. No doubt most of the rooms would be filled up if they hadn't already. While this wasn't the only inn in town, it was the only one exclusively for humans. The Inn Keeper was used to working with them, having been one some time ago.
Turning to Ivory, Smiles gave her his usual tip of the hat farewell. "The Inn Keeper will be able to take care of all your.... needs. Good day miss." With that Smiles left the scene before Ivory could even introduce herself. Not that he worried too much about her. While her armor was interesting, there was something even more so interesting coming into town later this evening.
Retiring to his room, a single complex with a bed and dresser, Smiles closed the hanging metal drapes. Which was an odd thing. Crossing over to the door, he pushed the small round lock in locking the door. Kicking off his shoes and taking off his coat then shirt he laid them neatly on the dresser.
Ready for a nap, Smiles laid on the bed and placed his hands behind his head. When he awoke again it would be time for business. It was going to be a night without sleep. Then again those were the best kind of nights. This thought lulled Smiles into sleep.

Ivory glanced between the eerie looking innkeeper and the guy who had helped her. Judging by the way he greeted him, the innkeeper might not be as bad as he appeared. She looked back toward the only other human she had seen while she had come to this world as he spoke. "Thank you-?!" she replied.
The other didn't even wait for her to thank him as he simply walked off. Ivory didn't even catch the other's name. 'Probably not that social!' she thought with a shrug. She didn't think anything of it really before turning toward the creepy Inn Keeper again.
Swallowing, preparing herself, Ivory walked up to the desk. Better to get it over and done with while she could. "E-Excuse me but...do you have any rooms available?" she asked him, trying hard not to stare. It was difficult to do though, especially trying to not look as if she saw a ghost.
"You're lucky, we've only three rooms left in the whole place. Most of the rooms have already been booked for tomorrow's event!" the Inn Keeper said. Ivory looked at him questioningly. There was an event taking place? What sort of event?
"An...event?" she inquired, momentarily forgetting his appearance.
"Yes, Hallow's Eve! Off worlders from all around come here to celebrate with us. It's a big event!" he replied. Ivory blinked as she wondered what event that was. Then, it hit her. Hallow's Eve was another name for Halloween! Well, no surprise there, this place was called Halloweentown.
"Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!" she replied. The Inn Keeper nodded before pulling out three keys with tags attached. On the tags read different room numbers and floors.
"Here's all there is, they've each got a single bed, bureau and bathroom. Only two are window rooms and one's an inner, windowless room. All the same price range of 100 munny a night." Ivory wondered if she wanted a windowless room or one with a window.
If she went with a windowless, she thought it might spook her out worse than one with a window. "I'll take one with a window, please." The Inn Keeper nodded and handed her one of the three keys before putting away the others. As he did so, Ivory fished through her pockets and just barely made the 100 munny the Inn Keeper had asked for. 'Just barely scraped this one through!' she thought.
Placing the munny on the table, the Inn Keeper scooped it toward him and walked out from behind the desk. "This way, please!" he said and lead the way to Ivory's room. They went up to the second floor before coming to a stop. Room 232 was where they stopped. "Your room. Should you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask! Have a good night!" With that, the Inn Keeper left.
"He wasn't as bad as he looked!" she muttered to herself before turning toward her door and pulling out her key. Putting it in the lock and turning the key, she opened the door and stepped inside. When she turned the light on, she was surprised to see how cleaner it looked. Shabby compared to what she was used too but not so bad.
"What a day!" she said to herself, closing the door behind her as she wandered toward the window and opened it. Boy had she regretted doing that. The moment she did, she saw a gigantic eyeball peering right back at her. Eyes widening, Ivory slowly closed the drapes and stepped away. Her face white than a ghost's as she slowly sat on the bed. She really didn't like this world. If she could, she'd find a way off of it as soon as possible. The issue was that she needed to get some munny to pay her way if there were ways that she had to pay for in order to get off.
Her heart's beat becoming normal again, Ivory sighed and flopped onto the bed. Not having locked the door, she had forgotten about it as her eyes became heavy with sleep from all the excitement she went through today. Before long, she drifted off into sleep.

It was night when Smiles awoke. The teen was used to waking when he wanted too. One moment he was asleep the next both eyes flashed open and he was wide awake. Standing up and off the bed, he did a few stretches before walking over to the dresser. Placing each item on carefully, he swept his hands down his pants.
Taking a look in the bathroom mirror, he fixed his hair and gave himself one more look over. Judging himself just fine, he exited the room. It was no surprise to find the common area full of people. They varied in age and some even wore haunting costumes. They sat together at round tables as many enjoyed some sort of refreshment or snack.
Even as Smiles passed the front desk he noticed the Inn keeper politely telling some that the rooms were booked, while giving sets of keys to other newcomers. Leaving the inn, Smiles was greeted by group loads of people. Night was the time to be out and alive in Halloween Town. After all it was during the night that the most interesting happening happened.
Folding his hands into his pockets, Smiles seemingly blended in with the crowd. He passed through the street area and into the main center. People were arriving by the dozens in gummi ships and walking through the main center. Smiles knew that the place would be thrice as crowded as it was currently on the morrow.
Leaving the central district, Smiles once again found himself in front of the cafe. "Time for work."[/i] He thought to himself.

For the most part, Ivory had slept soundly. Nothing of what was going on, for the moment, had woken her up just yet. Not many people had started going to the inn at first. That was why she had been able to sleep a good few hours.
It wasn't until a loud creak was heard did she wake up finally. Rubbing at her eyes, blinking blearily at the room around her, she saw someone standing in the doorway. "E-Excuse me!" she protested. The figure, slowly coming into focus, was rubbing their head sheepishly.
"Whoops, sorry ma'am! Wrong room!" With that, they left the room. Sighing to herself, Ivory stood up and stretched. This world wasn't one she agreed with. Everywhere something creepy or scary took place here. As she wandered toward the door, she thought of how she had foolishly left it unlocked.
'I need to watch that!' she thought with a sigh. It wasn't until she looked at the hallway outside when she noticed the influx of people. There were so many of them that she couldn't help but stare out in amazement. Were there really that many people coming for Hallow's Eve? She almost couldn't believe it.
What was a downside of being here was the loud noise. All the chitter chattering amongst excited people made it hard for her to try and sleep again. She had tried to close the door and locked it but the noise was far too loud presently. 'I guess I can go outside for now at least until the commotion dies down!' she thought with a sigh as she opened her door again and headed out after locking it. With the key in her pocket, she set off down the hall and stairs.
As she did so, she noted how normal people like her were wearing costumes. They were all quite festive and in the spirit of Halloween. Ivory didn't get to enjoy the holiday much when she was a kid. Darius and her always felt left out because kids at the orphanage didn't get to go out during that night. They had no parents to take them and the orphanage didn't have enough workers that could supervise the kids individually.
Walking outside, Ivory took a look at the street before her. There were many many people all congregated outside. Some in costume, others not. 'Didn't know the festivities would start so soon or be this big!' she thought as she walked.
Hearing a growl, she turned about. People looked scared, giving a four legged creature a wide berth. The only one that didn't look scared was Ivory as she settled her eyes' on the creature and smiled.
It was a large dog sized black scaled dragon. Walking up to her, it arched its head in a friendly manner as it looked up at her. "Hello, Anubis!" she greeted it, patting it on the head. People all around just stared wondering how she met such a creature. Honestly, the only thing Ivory could think of was that Anubis came with the armor. He acted like a sort of pet, sometimes wandering with her like one.
"I'm glad to see you, this place is so weird! I just want to go home but I can't even find Darius or Sirius!" she poke to him. Anubis tilted his head and crooned. "Yeah, I've gotta keep going...but where and how?" she said to him.

Work.... Such a simple concept, but the word had very different meanings depending on what sort of job one had. And Smiles's job.... Well it was one of, if not the, most difficult jobs of all. It required days of planning, patience that would normally drive someone nuts, and courage of steel. Smiles took it all with an easy smile.
He absolutely loved his job. If he didn't he wouldn't do it. The planning had been executed to perfection. Now it was just the patience. And it was so that Smiles found himself waiting patiently in the Cafe. He was sipping the same drink he had before, at the bar. The bartender had given him a smile when he first entered.
"I'd given your letter already. The man went out though, should be back sometime tonight." Smiles had told the bartender that it was absolutely fine. He was just a messenger anyways, not the originator of the letter. Which was true, oddly enough. And so he would wait.
--------------------------
The festivals were well on their way. And so it was with a warm smile that one Kyle Silver made his way into the main square. Dressed like a vampire with fake blood going down the side of his mouth and a black cape hanging from his shoulders he looked every bit the real vampire.
He was a man of thirty years with a bald head besides a single black braid going down the top of his head. His blue eyes and muscled figure spoke of him being a warrior. Of course he was more then that! He was a hero! Upon entering the area he was not at all surprised to see a group of locals wave him hello.
"Mr. Silver. How kind of you to return. I know I can rest easy now that you're here." One of the locals said. Kyle gave the short witch a genuine smile.
He told her, "Always my pleasure mam. I best be getting to checking in though. Don't want Lou to give my room away before I even check in." The witch laughed along with him.
Continuing on he suddenly came to a stop when he noticed a large creature. Taking it as an enemy he summoned his weapon. A keyblade silver in color looking more halberd then key. When he watched it walk over to a girl though his tight shoulders let loose. He walked over to the girl, who was probably scared out of her wits from him.
"Sorry mam. Took your pet for an enemy." Letting his keyblade disperse he waited for her to accept his apology.

It was a great relief to Ivory when she saw Anubis. Knowing her small dragon companion was here made her feel less vulnerable, less afraid and not lonely anymore. At least with Anubis, she had the companionship for now, until the dragon decided to wander off again and disappear. She wasn't sure how he seemed to show up when he did or when he left but the dragon always seemed to be able to find her.
As she pat the dragon's head, she saw movement in the corner of her eye. Anubis turned his head toward the source and bared his teeth in warning, letting out a low, rumbling growl. Ivory peered back uncertainly at the man with a strange looking weapon in his hand. He looked like some sort of vampire.
'Oh grand, this is something I don't need! Getting bitten by a vampire!' she thought worriedly. Was he reacting to Anubis, maybe? Not everyone seemed to be calm and collected with him standing there next to her, growling.
Once the man sent his weapon away, Anubis settled down. Sitting on his haunches, he remained by Ivory's side as he peered toward the man when he spoke. Seeing that Anubis obviously meant no one harm, except to those that might do Ivory or him harm, the man approached them. Where she was initially afraid of him, she didn't turn and run. Her eyes, though frightened, were clearly ready if she needed to fight.
Hearing his words, she calmed down. It was apparently a misunderstanding and he knew it. Well, that was a huge relief. She didn't feel much like fighting someone who most likely had years more experience than she did.
Looking back at him, as he apologized to her, Ivory inclined her head once as she calmed down. "It's alright...he isn't exactly your typical pet. It's to be expected."

Kyle agreed with that statement. "Well as long as he isn't off terrorizing the town, it's no problem." He told her with seriousness. He was going to have his own problems enough with the heartless. Another enemy would just be a nuisance.
Extending his arms in a stretch he gave a nod to a passerby who recognized him. Turning back to the girl he noticed that she seemed slightly out of character for the festival and for the town in general. "I hope you've been enjoying your stay here. I've been coming here every year for five years now. You should check out the cafe on the other side of the square. They have some of the best food and drinks you'll find here."
Taking a look at the watch on his wrist he gave a small yawn. It had been a long ride to this world. "Well I best be off. I hope you enjoy your stay mam." And with that he turned away and began to head towards the other side of the district.
-------------------------------
Smiles took a sip of his drink and pretended to pay attention to the conversation going on around him. He seemed every bit the normal customer. Since the place was packed with all sorts of individuals, from humans to ghostly ghouls, no one even seemed to notice another person at the bar.

As she stood there, Ivory was certain that the man wasn't about to do her harm. If he did, Anubis would be guarding her. The dragon could sense trouble in an instant because of his keen senses. Animals could pick up on the feelings of others and know when danger was afoot. That was another reason why Ivory was relieved that Anubis was here. He would help keep her safe for now.
When the man spoke, she nodded. "Anubis wouldn't do any such thing. He's tame." She didn't know why but for a second there he sounded as if he were talking in a condescending way, warning her to not let Anubis run rampant or something. For now, Ivory let it go. She was never the confronting type, unlike Darius. Therefore, she would let things pass if it meant peace.
Ivory looked back at the man as he spoke to her. Enjoying her stay here? He was kidding, right? Ivory was more so eager to get off of this world rather than stay on it. It was too creepy for her liking and she just didn't understand the things she found here well. It was definitely a bizarre world, that was for sure! As for enjoying it, she didn't think she could ever find herself liking this place. It made her skin crawl just being out here.
She blinked when the guy went on to tell her that on the opposite side of the square here that she would be able to find a cafe. There, she'd find a good spot for drinks and the like. 'If I had munny, I probably could but I don't have any left!' she thought.
'That and I'm sure I wouldn't want to see what kind of drinks or food they have here knowing how...odd this place is! I'd probably get soup with eyeballs in them if I'm not careful!' she thought cynically. As for him visiting here for five years, she couldn't see why someone would keep coming here. Well, to each their own it seemed.
"Um...thanks. I'll try." With that, he turned and headed for the opposite end. It looked like the same end he had described. Having no munny, she figured she could at least see what the cafe looked like. Was it like a regular cafe or would she once again feel like she were about to run for it? Curiosity compelling her to, Ivory began to walk down that way with Anubis trailing closely behind her.

Smiles watched his target enter. He was taller then Smiles had imagined, and larger as well. His eyes scanned the crowd, almost as if he were looking for some sort of unknown danger. But that look ended the moment some of the dwellers recognized one Kyle Silver.
Watching the man greet his friends he gave a shake at the introduction of others. Smiles watched him nod and politely inform them that they had to check in. Coming up to the bartender, Smiles watched from his seat at one of the tables. He was not too far away that he couldn't hear them.
"I was wondering when your sorry face would show up." The bartender said.
Kyle gave the man a smile. "Is that anyway to treat your best customer and bouncer?" They both had a laugh at that notion.
"The only bouncing you do is the kind when you've had one to many. And half the time you end up starting the fights." The bartender said accusingly.
Kyle only crossed his arms. "Ya well that ain't my fault. So you got my key?"
The bartender snickered. "You have quite a large one already. Why need another?" Kyle couldn't help but laugh at that one. The bartender reached under the bar and pulled out a key along with the small envelope that Smiles had given him.
Kyle didn't even seem to notice it, simply taking both items. "I'm goin to go check the room out. Then I'll be down for a glass of your best draft and a one of your worm sandwiches. Without the worms of course."
Nodding the bartender turned to another customer that came over to order a drink. Smiles stood and silently headed towards the stair case. It was time.

(OOC: Sorry in advance if this ends up a small post. ^_^; Walking through the crowd, Ivory was somewhat relieved to see more humans. It had felt rather uncomfortable to be one of the only humans in this world previously. As she walked, she wondered how she was going to get off this world. She had no munny and she really didn't want to just walk up and ask someone. The only thing to get munny, if she was lucky, was to go Heartless hunting. That, in of itself, was a dangerous forte.
"What do you think I should do, Anubis? I haven't any munny having spent it all on that Inn room to spend for one night! How do I get off this world?" she spoke to the dragon that was now plodding along beside her.
Anubis could understand every word she was saying, the only problem was that he couldn't really communicate back to her. The only way he could at times was if he brought things she asked for to her or what have you. Ivory knew nothing of the full extent of the dragon's intelligence but she knew he was smarter than what she'd think for a beast. All he did in response to her words was croon like he had earlier. Since he couldn't talk, she wouldn't know that the dragon was trying to tell her that she could figure something out.
As they went, Ivory looked around. With more people here, she felt a bit more at ease. With Hallow's Eve around the corner, people seemed to be ecstatic. 'At least there are people here!' she thought.
Coming upon what looked to be a cafe, Ivory looked from afar. She hadn't munny so she had no intentions of purchasing anything. All she was interested in was seeing more locals. Yes, even now she could see the locals that worked there. It was almost bizarre to see them interacting with regular people unaffected by their appearances. 'Guess the saying is true about never judging books by their covers!' she thought.
Ivory scanned the crowd for a familiar face but saw no one that she knew. Lowering her head, she sighed in exasperation. "Darius, where are you?" she spoke to herself.
