Darius listened to what White was saying. "Not much, I was asking about my sister. He doesn't remember anyone by that description so far. I also asked about the other stuff so just waiting on that." With that, Darius returned his attention to the inn keeper whom had been busy filling someone else's drink.
As the inn keeper turned back to him to speak, Darius gave him his full attention. Well, that was obvious. Dragons weren't often seen in most places Darius knew of. If they were able to find anyone with that information, Darius would have some kind of lead. The problem was finding out who. Next, the inn keeper mentioned that they should try to speak to Gerard whom was a keyblade wielder and had gone missing since the first day he checked in.
"Alright, it's worth a shot. Thank you!" he said before White piped in. Looking over at White, Darius wondered about this mansion as well. If things were going on there, there was a chance they could find a trail on this committee. However, the inn keeper tried to dissuade them about it. According to him, Jack had a dog guarding the place.
He exchanged looks with White. Like White, Darius was seriously considering going there. Besides, if there was a chance his sister was here, maybe he could find her there? No use in not going to see at the very least. Looking back up at the inn keeper, he nodded. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Thank you for your help!" With that, Darius walked away from the service desk.
When they were out of earshot, he spoke to White. "It's worth a shot going there, I'm sure that's the look you gave me, right?" he inquired. "Still, we should look into where this Gerard is and if anyone's seen a girl wandering around with a dragon at all. Not sure if those would connect to what's going on at that mansion."

White wanted to rush to that mansion right this moment. He didn't have much faith in getting answers about the dragon or this Gerard person. White was glad that they were out of earshot of the inn keeper. He was strongly against them going to the mansion.
Still Darius did have a point. As much as White wanted to dash there right away, it was still day light. If someone saw them they could possibly get in trouble. And what about that "dog". Maybe if they waited till night came around they would be able to sneak past it. "Your right. Let's wait until tonight to head to the mansion. There will be less people."
At least they had two new questions to ask around town though. The inn keeper had pointed out two particular things they should ask about. The dragon that Darius's sister had. And this hero. Had anyone seen him since that last morning?
White lead Darius out of the Sleeping Ghost. They had a few more hours until sundown. "Why don't we split up? You continue to ask about your sister and her dragon, and I will ask about this Gerard person. We should meet at sundown back here. What do you think?"

Where Darius believed it may be more difficult to get information on his sister and this Gerard person, they really didn't have a choice. Darius wasn't going to go rushing over to a mansion in broad daylight. It was easier to be spotted during the day with so many others bustling about in this world as it is. As for the dog situation, Darius didn't know what this world called 'dog' and it wasn't at all a settling thought to think it could be some kind of monster.
Since he didn't want to find out that soon about this 'dog', Darius thought a good side distraction would be the other things to look into. White, at the very least, seemed to agree. That relieved Darius, he didn't want to have to deal with drama too soon.
Following White outside of the Sleeping Ghost, he listened to White's suggestion. It was a good idea. They would be able to cover more ground and locate information faster that way. What could go wrong? "Sounds like a good plan to me!" he replied.
Meeting back here at sundown would be enough time. Darius just hoped he could find some kind of lead. "Erm, sorry if searching for my sister is getting in the way of what you want to find out, White."
"Anyways, I'll see you here by sundown!" With that, he turned and headed off in one direction, looking for people to question.

White search for this Gerard person was very informal. For one almost every local in town had heard of the hero. They spoke of his brave acts against something called an "Oggy Boogie", whatever that was. He learned a lot about how strong he was and how he fought against the heartless. But no one knew where he was.
He meet a single person who had seen him here when he arrived. But beyond that he got nothing. Looking up at the sky he noticed the sun was setting. He would have to meet up with Darius pretty soon. He wanted to wait till dusk before they headed out to the mansion. He didn't know what they were going to find there, but he was ready for it.
So far this place was a let down. Maybe that girl had been lying to them this entire time. Maybe it was just a ploy to keep them off track. Sighing, White turned to one more person. It was an elder looking lady that actually look human. She had a crooked nose and her skin was green colored.
"Come to get your fortune told son? Only cost ya fifty munny." White glanced at the small old woman. He hadn't come here to get his fortune told.
He tried to explain that to her. "Sorry I'm just looking for that keyblade hero that comes here all the time. He goes by Gerard I heard. Have you seen him?"
The fortune teller gave him a smile that showed crooked teeth. "Maybe I have... Maybe I haven't. My crystal shows many things. Come sit! All of my fortunes come true. Pay and maybe I can see this hero in your future."
White really didn't have a choice. If she had information on Gerard he really needed it. Reaching for the munny he paid the old lady. "Sit, sit." Obliging he took a seat across from her small table.
She waved her hand across her crystal ball and starred into it. White watched her face grow curious as she spoke of what she saw. "I see... a mansion. My, my it looks like the one here in town. I see you facing..... an odd girl."
White's face lit up. A girl! Could he mean the same girl that lead him here! She was an odd one! Who else could it be? "What about the hero? Is there a man with her?"
The old woman nodded. "Yes... This man is angry at the odd one. His face holds fury." That was all White needed to hear! They must be there! He had to tell Darius right away. White stood to leave but before he could the woman grabbed his hand.
Turning back the woman said, "Wait! I see something else.... I see....." And then her face changed and all of a sudden her eyes rolled back into her head revealing only pure white. When she spoke the voice was deep and masculine. Nothing like the old woman's voice at all.
"Darkness shall you face. Darkness shall consume you. Devastation, destruction, death of all! Run! Better for you to die alone and in the darkness then to return to the fate awaiting you in the light! Remember the darkness! Light is found in every darkness!" And then the old woman was back to normal.
White just starred at her stunned. "Wha... What did you say?" The old woman looked at him oddly.
"I just told you. Mansion... girl... man... armor... Now go on boy! Shop's closing." White didn't know what to think about what he just heard. But as he looked at the sky he realized the sun was practically gone. Time to find Darius!

Darius's search was rather bleak. Everyone he stopped to ask if whether they had seen Ivory weren't getting him much of anything. However, where Ivory wasn't seen, the dragon definitely had been. Knowing how he too had a dragon that wandered with him at times, Darius couldn't help but feel he had at least found something out. The black dragon people had seen, there was no doubt in his mind that it was Anubis. Anubis was the dragon that followed Ivory around.
'Either she was here before or still is!' he thought. The idea of finally finding Ivory made his spirits rise. However, figuring out where they saw it was another thing entirely. People gave him mixed information. One person saw the dragon in the middle of the town just before the inn. Another person saw it wandering off toward some cafe but that was it. When he asked how long ago it had been, people would say close to a week or more.
'Well...it's a start. A trace, at least, but an old one...' he thought, his spirits sinking a bit.
After that, nothing else was fruitful. He held out a bit longer before noticing the time finally. Glancing up at the sky and then at a nearby clock, Darius knew it was time for him to head back. 'Well, I know at the very least that Anubis had been seen here in this world. So, Ivory should have been here as well. Where they went or if they're even here, I don't know!' he thought, making his way through the crowd.
Compared to White's adventure, Darius didn't encounter anything all that weird other than the occasional local's appearance. By the time he got back, White was nowhere to be seen. 'Probably running a bit late...' he thought, waiting at the spot where they agreed to meet up. Maybe White found something more interesting than he did? Darius didn't have much high hopes in that one though.
As he stood there, he glanced over at a young girl whom trotted alongside her father. It was clear they were human but like many of the people here, they were in costume. Darius remembered the times when Ivory and himself would go with their parents to the park. Old memories of a time that was peaceful. 'Now you're all I have left, Ivory. If it takes me years, I'll find you!' he said in his mind.

White found Darius waiting for him. "Sorry about making you wait. I got held up by a crazy fortune teller. Let's head over onto the mansion, we can exchange information on the way." White took the lead and began to walk to the main district. If he was correct, they needed to head back to where they had first landed.
As they entered the main district, White was not at all surprised to find it starting to slowly empty. Seemed like people were returning to their lodgings for the night. This place seemed even creepier at night. As the sun set and dusk began to mellow the land, the shadows became bigger.
"This place really gives you the hebe gibes." He said, rubbing his arm as if uncomfortable. Walking through the main district he headed off to the lane they had come from originally.
As he did, White took the time to inform Darius on what he learned. "Most people have heard of this "hero" but like the inn keeper, no one has seen him since early in the week. Only piece of evidence I got was that we would meet a lady and a man at the mansion. The way she described it made it seem like we would meet the girl from before and the hero. I hope she was right."
Coming to a stop at the dog house, which they would without a doubt have to crawl through, he turned to Darius. "Any luck with your sister?"

Darius stood there for a moment before he heard footsteps. Looking over, he found White making his way over to him. Hearing his apology and something about a fortune teller, Darius couldn't help but give him an odd look before they set out. Just what would a fortune teller have to say? As he followed White, they began heading in the direction from whence they previously arrived on this world. The mansion was apparently somewhere this way.
Like White, Darius noticed how eerily quiet it was. With it void of people on the streets, it definitely made the hairs on the back of his neck rise. Hearing what White said, Darius nodded in agreement. "It does."
While they stood there, White began to fill Darius in on what he had learned. People knew of Gerard but like before, knew nothing of where he had gone. Yet, he was telling him that the fortune teller told White that they would be meeting a girl and a man here at the mansion. The way it had sounded to White, it could be the girl they met before and the hero mentioned. "Hopefully."
They continued on their way for a moment before stopping before the large dog house. They would need to crawl through it judging by the looks of it. When White asked Darius about his sister, he sighed. "No one had actually seen Ivory but I know they saw her dragon, Anubis! If he's seen anywhere, chances are she had been here as well. I'm not sure if she'd still be here though since the dragon was spotted over a week ago. Still, it's a trace, an old one but a trace none the less finally."

White could see that his friend was dissuaded by the fact that the trail was more then a week old. White could understand how a week old trail could do such a thing. Everything they found from this world was old. But any news was better news. He gave Darius a smile. "We'll find her!" He said, trying to sound positive.
Going through the dog house first, White got on all fours and crawled right through the hole on the other side. On the other end he found himself in an odd looking graveyard. There was an odd shaped hill that rose in the center and curved at the end. It looked as oddly placed as this entire world did.
"Where do we go from here?" White asked himself aloud. "Guess we go through this graveyard. Get ready to call your armor." White on the other hand, had his hand on the handle of his weapon. He had a bad feeling about this place.
As White began to walk through the graveyard he came to a sudden stop. Squinting his eyes he saw a hooded figure walking through the edge of the graveyard. "Whose that?" White asked pointing to the hooded figure.
Almost as if the figure could hear him, the figure suddenly turned to face White and Darius. White couldn't see what was behind that hood but he had a feeling it was no ally. The figure raised a gloved hand and pointed at them. Heartless flew out of the ground.
White counted six of them. There were two blue rhapsody, two ice cannons, and two icy cubes. The blue rhapsody White was accustomed too. The two ice cannons and icy cubes though, he was not. The Ice Cannons looked exactly like they sounded like. They were blue cannon looking heartless. The Icy Cubes were heartless enclosed in ice that had the ability to freeze an opponent upon touching it.
Drawing his weapon, White commented on it. "For as weird as this world is.... those ice type heartless seem out of place."

Darius sighed to himself. He was happy to find a trail but it was old. There was no telling where Ivory could have gone and what had happened to her since then. He might as well still be on a wild goose chase. As if sensing his low spirits, White spoke. Looking over at him, he saw the smile on his new friend's face as he spoke words of encouragement. Even if he wasn't sure himself, Darius couldn't help but feel a bit better and a little more optimistic.
Nodding, he replied "You're right." After that, White crawled through the dog house first. Watching him go, Darius glanced about to make sure no one was watching them. The last thing they needed was for someone to come after them and try to keep them from going where they wanted to.
Once White made it to the other side, Darius crouched down and crawled through the dog house as well. When he got to the other side, just as he was standing up, he heard White talking to himself. Looking around, Darius wondered the same thing. It looked like they came out into a field with a strange curl tipped hill before them. There were tombstones all around as well as pumpkins.
"I could ask the same thing."
He glanced at White when he stated that he guessed they should head through the graveyard and for him to be ready to call out his armor. Darius nodded his head in response. "Right!"
With that, Darius rummaged through his pockets and pulled out the miniature statuette of the white dragon. Carrying it in one hand, he was ready to summon the armor at any given moment. He followed White's lead into the graveyard. The pair of them no sooner had started out when White stopped suddenly. Darius had to weave to the side before he collided into his back. Looking at where White was pointing, Darius's eyebrows raised at the sight of the cloaked figure. "Now who do you suppose-?" he began to say but didn't get to finish.
The cloaked figure had turned to face them at that instant, as if he or she had heard them and pointed at them. As they did so, Heartless appeared! "I couldn't agree more!" Darius responded as he clutched the little dragon in his hand. As he did so, a white light engulfed Darius.
When it went away, he was adorned in his armor and holding his broadsword, ready to fight. "After you, White, I insist!" he stated.

White pulled out his kantana about the same time Darius called for his armor. When he looked over to his friend he found him ready for battle. It was good he took heartless serious. They were deadly creatures, even the weak ones. Darius's comment to White made him smile.
"Of course you insist!" He said with a laugh. Kantana in hand he rushed towards the heartless. He raced past the original cannons and ice blocks, who were a bit on the slower side, and rushed towards the rhapsody. In his experience those creatures were always more dangerous.
They had a tendency to stay out of reach and bombard you with whatever element they controlled. In this case that would be ice. White leaped into the air, his white kantana swinging in an arc, and just missing one of the two enemies.
White fell back to the ground and found himself reacting to a pulse of blue energy shot by the other rhapsody. Where White had fallen, the floor was covered in a small layer of ice. They would have to do better then that if they hoped to freeze him!
Running after them again, White leaped into the air! This time his blade met the enemy, slicing it across. But the enemy's momentum prevented it from being a death blow. Still he had wounded it. White fell to the floor, but this time did not roll. He knew another pulse of ice energy would be shot at him, but he instead pushed back up into the air coming above the energy.
Appearing before a stunned rhapsody, White slashed vertically and destroyed the enemy in one swing. As White landed he knew he had only one wounded enemy left. Hopefully Darius was doing alright with the others. He didn't have time to check. He would have to just trust his new friend.

Darius couldn't help but laugh a little too despite the danger they were faced with. It had been a while since he had been able to hang around someone his own age other than his twin sister. The friends he made at school were gone. When their world had been destroyed, the only survivors had been Ivory and himself. Since their time together, Darius found himself enjoying the reckless side of things like any typical teenage boy.
So, there he was, rushing toward the enemy after White with broadsword in hands. White went right for the rhapsodies. While White seemed to be busy with them, Darius decided that he would take care of the others.
Setting his sight upon what looked to be an ice cubed Heartless, Darius aimed a hand at it and fired a ray of light at it. In doing so, Darius managed to hit it into one of the Ice Cannon Heartless. The ice cube broke completely and dispersed, leaving behind a wounded Ice Cannon. Now, there was just one more Icy Cube and two Cannon Heartless left. Since he hadn't quite focused on them all, the other Cannon got a shot in. If it hadn't been for his armor, it would've hurt more.
"Ergh!" he growled, turning toward it. Surging up energy, he charged right for it. As he did so, a trail of light erupted behind him, taking out the previously wounded Ice Cannon and knocking aside the Icy Cube as he went right for the remaining Ice Cannon. Upon reaching it, Darius swung at it diagonally and vertically.

Just because their was only one rhapsody left, that did not mean they weren't dangerous. In fact, White barley raised his weapon in time to stop a pulse of energy from striking his body. Clinging to his weapon though it expanded and formed a layer of frozen ice around his kantana. White found himself grabbing it with both hands and having to use more energy just to lift the dang thing up.
The thing slowed him down! White knew the ice wouldn't do any permanent damage to his weapon, but it left him with a difficult choice. Continue to use the weapon and have his movements slowed, or try and take on the enemy without the kantana. The first was hard, but the second seemed almost impossible.
Making his decision, White forced himself to move forward with the weapon. The enemy saw this and shot up in the air. "Not fair!" He called to it. White forced himself to move faster and close the distance between himself and the enemy.
The heartless was already summoning up another ball of blue energy. White had no choice. With all his might he lugged the weapon up and threw it right at the blue heartless! It collided with the enemy with a thump. The ice around the weapon cracked and forced the enemy to fall to the floor.
With it being already wounded it was only a matter of scooping up his fallen weapon and slashing at the enemy. With a puff it vanished. That took care of the two troublesome enemies. Turning around he wondered if Darius had taken care of the rest of the enemy.

After bombarding the Ice Cannon with slashes, the thing finally was felled. Turning, he searched for the last enemy, an Icy Cube. It were as if it had disappeared! Confused, Darius lowered his weapon and glanced around. All he saw was nothing but White in the distance having his skirmish with his own enemies. 'Where did it go?' he wondered.
It didn't take long for him to find out. In attempts to freeze him, the Icy Cube shot out from him without warning on his left side. If Darius hadn't turned his head at the exact moment he had, he would've been a human Popsicle!
Turning just in time, he was able to bring his broadsword up. As he did so, the weapon took the full brunt of the freezing attack the creature made. Seeing his weapon turn into an icy spike, Darius's eyebrows raised. "Whoa!" he exclaimed. The Icy Cube bounced off it, tumbling a few paces before regaining its composure. Looking back at him, it was mildly surprised he managed to avoid being frozen.
"Now that wasn't nice!" he told it. With that, Darius charged it and made a diagonal slash. As he did so, he felt the ice give way on his sword. All he managed to do was just clobber the thing. At least now his sword was free of the ice.
Making a vertical slash at the Icy Cube, he finally managed to split it in half. Now, there were no more enemies. As he turned, White had already finished before him. "Whew! That was a quick warm up, eh?"

Quite a warm up indeed! White slugged his kantana back into the sheath and turned towards where the hooded figure had been. There was no sign of him now. "Wonder who that was?" The person had escaped during their fight. That was probably the whole point of it anyway.
Well they had two choices now. They could look around this graveyard some more or continue on the way to the mansion. White didn't like the look of this graveyard at all! "Come on, let's get going."
Walking through the graveyard his eyes couldn't help but drift to the shadows that hung around the graves. This place was all too spooky. Raising his hand, he drew his kantana. He felt much safer carrying it around then keeping it in the sheath. The only exit out of the graveyard was an open gate.
Upon approaching it, White noticed that a section of it was layered with ice in the shape of a hand print. "You think this was that hooded figure's doing?" He asked Darius.

Darius kept his armor on for the time being as he lowered his broadsword. Looking over at White, he shrugged at the question. "Beats me, I've no clue who that guy or girl was!" he answered truthfully. All he knew was, whomever they were they certainly had something to hide. "Not a friendly sort, that's for sure."
He nodded in agreement when White suggested they head onward. Following his lead toward the end where they saw the hooded figure, Darius gave pause. Looking at the icy hand print, Darius wondered if the figure left that behind. Who else could? The figure seemed to have a thing for ice.
"Could be. I mean, he did send ice Heartless after us anyway...so maybe it is?" he replied.
Darius looked at the gate. The hooded figure could be right behind it, waiting for them. "Well...they're in there now, aren't they? Should we go after them?" he inquired.

White nodded. They had come this far, it would be a shame to go back now! Besides what that fortune teller had told him sent his mind wondering what was at that mansion. "Through the graveyard, down the path, and before the forest." That was what he had been told when he had asked on how to get to the mansion.
Most people though all warned him of the guard dog. Being careful when opening the gate he walked first out of the graveyard. Just as they said there was a path that seemed to lead off into the forest. Part of the path though split and went to the right. That was the way they had to take.
White saw no signs of the hooded figure or where they might have gone. "Let's just follow the path. The haunted mansion is this way." White still had his kantana in hand as he made his way down the path.
Who knew what might attack them along this path. For the most part thought it did seem vacant. Continuing down the path with Darius it didn't take long until they came to the split. White didn't even pause when he began to follow it.
Sure enough the path started going down hill and it wasn't long before they came to an old run down building surrounded by a square fence. The only entrance was an open gate where two statue gargoyles rested on the posts.
Stopping before it, White could help but ask, "Where's this guard dog?" Cause as far as he could tell with his own eyes, this place was empty!

Darius watched wordlessly as White opened the gate out of the graveyard first. Seeing and hearing nothing, White walked out of the graveyard into the area outside. Silently, Darius followed his lead, casting a careful glance around as he went. There wasn't a trace of any danger yet but he still held his broadsword carefully. He didn't hold it with both hands since for now, he didn't have to wield it and it would just be a chore walking around holding it with both hands at all times.
The hooded figure from before was gone. Looking over at White as he spoke, Darius nodded in agreement. "Right."
As they wandered down the path, Darius couldn't help but wonder where this fabled dog was. After all, people had made it very clear to watch out for it but Darius wasn't seeing anything like a dog anywhere. Was it just a hoax? He wasn't sure as he looked toward the run down building they came upon. There was a small square fence before it and two gargoyle statues rested upon posts on either side of the gate leading in.
When White questioned about where the guard dog was, Darius shrugged. "Not sure, I don't see one anywhere...I hope you didn't just jinx us though!" he stated, looking around carefully after that.

White snickered. "Come on now! Who really believes in jinxes?" He asked Darius. Even though he played the manner off as nothing, he still kept his kantana in hand. He wasn't about to put it away like an idiot. If he was wrong, he'd rather have his weapon in hand then to prove his courage by putting it away.
"Let's go. Keep your eyes out for this guard dog though." White stepped up the closed gate. There was no lock on the gate, and White knew it was only a matter of pushing the gate open to enter. He was slightly afraid that it might call this guard dog... Where ever the thing was.
Climbing up the fence wasn't a good idea in his opinion. White placed both hands on the gate and pushed it open. The old piece of metal opened with a squeak. It cause White to cringe as he pushed it open enough for them to enter. He kept his ears open for the sound of approach, but he didn't hear anything.
Gathering his courage, White slipped through the open gate and faced the empty mansion. From the inside, White really got a good look at it. He stood on a sidewalk that led to two double doors. There were windows on every floor, the majority of them old and dusted. The yard was filled with dying grass and dirt. White even spotted a section where a single gravestone rested.
"I don't know what all these locals are talking about! I don't see any guard dogs. Come on let's head inside!"
As White said this, one of the curtains of the second floor windows moved. White didn't notice it, but something had been watching them from that window a second ago.

Darius glanced over at White and raised an eyebrow at what he just said. "Sorry, I can't help but think that way since when I tend to say things like that, bad things happen!" he replied. Still, despite what White said, it was clear that he still held some caution by holding his weapon at his side. Good, Darius didn't plan on letting his armor and broadsword leave any time soon. Knowing his luck, they'd walk right into another fight of some kind.
As White spoke next, about keeping an eye out for the guard dog in case, Darius nodded his head. He had been watching out for it since they set foot into the given area anyway. Last thing he needed was for a monster sized dog creature chasing them, thirsty for blood.
Following White's lead through the fence, Darius couldn't help but feel more antsy. The guard dog would, no doubt, be showing up at some point in time. Unless, of course, luck was on their side but he wasn't going to put his bets on that. Luck never seemed to be on their side. Hearing White's words, Darius shrugged. "Maybe it was just a rumor to scare the locals from coming here?" he replied. That's the only other idea he could come up with.
When they faced the mansion, Darius took a double take. For a second there, he had thought he had seen something move. Blinking, seeing nothing, he wondered if he had been imagining things. Shrugging it off, Darius followed White into the mansion. "Let's just try to find what we need to and get out!" he stated, not liking the place at all.

It should have come to no surprise to either of them that the front door was unlocked. After all aren't all haunted mansions? White took the lead standing in a pretty much empty room. It was a greeting room and quite large at that! White noticed a broken chandler hanging from the cealing above.
White expected to see more then he saw. There were a set of doors at the end of the room as well as two stair cases on the edges of the room. They lead to a balcony that led to probably upper rooms. "Well... I think we should stick together. Getting separated in a haunted mansion is just asking for trouble."
Besides this place was damn creepy. The question was, did they explore the top floors or this floor. Maybe it would be best to take this floor first then go from there. "Let's head for that door."
