Smiles yawned as he checked the time. The day was already beginning to pass. Ivory had been in the ring for a good amount of time already. She had perhaps a day more, since she spent half a full day in there already. Smiles never actually thought of what might happen if she wasn't finished with the trial in time. He had always supposed she'd be done by the time they left.
He wasn't too worried though. He had faith in Ivory. Smiles had returned to his books after Skull had left, searching for any information about the fissures. He had found none of course. He had searched through these books time and time again. Seeing as he was tired he had a couple of decisions. He could return to his room, but that might also mean he might miss Ivory's return in the night. He wanted to be here when she awoke.
So instead, Smiles went ahead and fetched a blanket and a pillow and returned to the large room. Placing his head on the pillow he drifted off to sleep.

Things went on like this for several more minutes. There were times when Ivory got far enough away from the Minotaur that she had some time to actually choose which direction to go in. However, it never lasted for very long. The Minotaur was constantly on her tail, following her stubbornly. It seemed to have some sort of vendetta against her, that was for sure or some kind of want for her blood. Her dark beams never seemed to keep it down for long. In fact, it were as if the damn thing were nearly impenetrable.
There wasn't enough room in the maze presently for her to do a straight lunge at the thing with her swords with dark energy pillars trailing behind her similar to Darius's attack on the skeleton dog. There were too many twists and turns now that it was difficult to remember which way she had already gone and whether or not she was going in a circle. All the while, the constant clicking of hooves behind her was ever present. At times it was faint and at times, it was close. The thing just never knew when to give up. Apparently, it wouldn't until it died or she was dead. Ivory made sure she was one step ahead of the thing.
As she ran, Ivory hadn't noticed the subtle signs that she was running into a death trap. If she were to pause, she might've noticed the faint traces of cob webs as she ran down a long, twisted path. Unfortunately, she didn't notice anything was up until the path became rather difficult to traverse through. It was gloomier in this part of the maze and for good reason. Above and in front of her was nothing but sticky threads. Ivory scrunched her nose in disgust at the smell. Just what the heck did this? If she tried moving the threads by hand, they stuck to it like glue and it was a pain to shake it off. Whatever it was, it was really sticky.
There wasn't much time for her to ponder this, instead, she took out her two katanas and started hacking away at the threads to cut herself a path through them. Behind her, she could hear the gradual clacking of the Minotaur's hooves getting louder with every passing second. Time was definitely of the essence here. Knowing this, Ivory moved faster at hacking away the threads. A roar behind her announced the Minotaur's finally spotting her. He had a habit of roaring every time he did to the point where Ivory wondered if he ever got tired of doing that. At least it warned her of his arrival and his spotting her.
Not even looking in front of her, she ran past a gigantic hairy leg as she suddenly came into a wide opening. Turning to face the Minotaur, she did not at all know what was towering over the two of them as the Minotaur slowed down, holding its axe as he faced Ivory. Neither of them were aware of the present danger that looked down upon them with surprise that was quickly going away. Food had quite literally walked right into the midst of its nest. The spider could not believe what luck it had today. Which tasty morsel should it try first?

Smiles never dreamed. He always slept in a state that was slightly awake where he could act if something ever came at him. That was how he always was. This was the reason how he would also know if Ivory was coming out of the ring. He would wake up at the sound of the ring going off or her footsteps as he came out. But now was not the time. Instead Smiles remained asleep, unaware of what was going on in the castle or in the ring.
-----------------------
Ivory's competition was actually on the other side of the maze. He had entered via the other entrance and had his own sorts of problems. What exactly those problems were... Well they were things very similar to what Ivory was facing. Though unlike Ivory, he did not just run away from the minotaur that charged him. He faced it head on, as he did with every enemy.
It was a tricky battle, but one that he was able to succeed in. It was strange to be someplace other then where he was a custom to being. Heck it was strange to even be alive in such a place! His memories at first had been fuzzy, but slowly he was regaining them. Now all he needed to do was get to the center of the maze. If he got to that dragon statue then he could fulfill the reason he was sent here. But first he had to get rid of a giant spider of his own.

Ivory, unaware of what troubles her opponent was facing, was preoccupied at the given moment. At first, it was the Minotaur. Then something completely unexpected happened as it usually did in this forsaken place. Ivory thought she was going to end up fighting the Minotaur herself. Well, something else decided that this was not going to happen.
Before Ivory or the Minotaur knew what happened, the spider already had the Minotaur in its massive Fangs. Realizing it was in the maw of a massive spider, the Minotaur let out a painful cry. The spider reacted with a menacing screech as it continued to drain the life from the struggling Minotaur.
Ivory couldn't believe what she was seeing. It had to be the worst thing she had ever seen since the fissures. It was a gigantic, hairy spider the size of a two story building. Under the abdomen, it had a red hourglass symbol. Now, Ivory wasn't sure if this was true but it looked to her like this could be a sign that the spider was poisonous. If that were the case then that would also explain the painful cries that had come from the Minotaur.
All she could do was gape with amazement. Never before had she seen something so terrible in her life. Already, she knew exactly what she would fear now for the rest of her life. She had fears, of course, but this one certainly took the cake. Until the day she died, Ivory knew she was going to be afraid of spiders. Even the tiny ones were going to scare the living daylights out of her. How that would effect her during the times when she would be out of here, if she survived here that is, Ivory wasn't sure but no doubt it might give those associated with her a hard time if a spider were to appear.
Anyways, Ivory was so terrified, she had frozen up as the spider did away with the Minotaur problem. Now, Ivory wound up with a far bigger problem than what she had started with. Things always seemed to go bad here in the maze. If one thing went wrong, another thing quickly came up to replace that problem. Would she get a break here? Well, that answer was obvious. Definitely no.
"Oh...my...god!" she exclaimed, backing away as the spider split the remains of the Minotaur in half before chewing on it. All eight of its black, shiny eyes seemed to focus then on Ivory's tiny figure. Compared to it, she had to be nothing more than a fun sized snack. No doubt, its hunger would not be quenched by just the Minotaur. Now, it was focusing on Ivory. At least here in the general area, there were no webs but the paths branching off from where it stood were thickly encased with them. Ivory would have to hack frantically at the threading to get out of here and run.
However, there was no time for that. The spider was already beginning to advance on Ivory, it's maw clicking as it hobbled towards her. The way it moved was so alien to Ivory. She had never seen a spider's movements so in detail before as she did with the normal sized ones. It was a true thing to fear as it approached her, long legs lightly hitting the hard, cobbled stone of the ground. As it came, the spider hissed down at her in a menacing manner.
It was then that Ivory resolved to not run anymore. Instead, she got into a battle ready stance. How she was going to survive this, she didn't know but she was tired of running. The Minotaur's stubborn chase made her tired of running from everything. She was definitely scared out of her wits here but she had to do something about it or she would be dead. Seeing as she was in a large enough area, she could do what she knew to do. Dark energy surging around her armored body, Ivory slashed at the legs of the spider. Having cut one, only merely scratching it, Ivory heard the painful yell of the spider before it experienced what else Ivory's attack had in store for it. Behind her, trailed pillars of dark energy bursting upward from the ground.
Not expecting its prey to lash back at it in such a way, the spider was taken off guard and got a full blast in the face by the energy. The spider stumbled backwards, screaming in pain but not dead as it flailed about. Ivory was forced to dodge massive hairy legs while the spider flailed around in pain. Once it recovered, it resolved to not let her do that again. Angry, judging by the now upright position of its front four legs, it gave her quite a menacing display. It was usually a position most spiders took to warn an enemy that it was being aggressive. Ivory could clearly understand that position and already, she was shivering with uncertainty.

Smiles awoke to find that Skull had returned. It was quite surprising to see him return once again, starring at the three rings. What was even more surprising was that Smiles had not heard him enter in his light sleep. Glancing over to the man, Smiles wondered if Fissures had need for sleep. What exactly were there limitations if they wore the body of a human.
"There is something just marvelous about these rings. Some sort of power... I can feel it radiating even from here." Skull must have noticed that Smiles had awoken because he spoke.
Standing, Smiles ignored his messy hair and walked over to stand next to the fissure. He still didn't trust the creature, but he couldn't help but feel curious and interested about it. Perhaps if he provided the fissure with some information, the fissure would do so in return. "This castle used to belong to keybladers. I believe these rings were links to pocket dimensions that were used to test their younger members. There is another said dimension in the basement."
Skull nodded. "Yes I have seen what you speak of. That is nothing but a simulator. These however... The magic held in these are much more powerful then those below this castle. When this castle becomes mine I shall spend some time finding out just what they are." Skull spoke in a way as if the castle was already his, or soon about to be. From what Smiles had heard from Snake there were only six fissures, and that included Skull. On the other hand there were eight members of the committee.
"So I plan you are going to kill us all at some point then?" Smiles was cautious around Skull, but that did not mean he feared the creature. His question was a bold one that many would be afraid to ask.
Smiles expected one of two reactions. He expected that either Skull would lie, and say that was not part of his plan at all. Or he would attack him. After all Smiles could possibly pose a threat by revealing his suspicions.
"When man goes about his daily business he does not worry about the ants that he steps on throughout the day. Even though they outnumber him, he pays no mind to them for they are nothing but little creatures who could never hope to pose a threat. Perhaps if they all stood together they might retaliate at the killing of their own, but ants will never do this. They have too much pride to work together even under their queen. You are nothing more then ants. We do not worry about your deaths. They will occur soon enough."
Skull had apparently had enough of Smiles, as he turned around and walked away. Smiles was not smiling.

Ivory hadn't been aware of the things Smiles and Skull had conversed. In fact, she was far too busy worrying about her life right now. After all, she had a giant spider that looked rather hungry and was now rather ticked off by her previous performance. No doubt, it was keen to not let her try that again but that didn't mean she could surprise it. Despite what damage she had done, it was merely a scratch. The dark pillars barely even penetrated the spider's hairy hide.
Still, it had done enough to cause the spider to stagger back. Unfortunately that tactic was one of the only two that she knew. She didn't really know her other abilities with her armor just yet. So, right now, she had thought she was pretty much screwed as the spider advanced on her.
The towering brute came down at her fast, Ivory only just had time to throw up her arms in defense. She really didn't know how else to defend herself from the gigantic maw of the spider except dodge, which she didn't have time to do. She waited to feel the deadly grip of the fangs of the spider but it never came. Blinking, Ivory was certain the thing had just lunged at her. Slowly, she removed her arms from her face. As she did so, Ivory found that dark spheres were rotating around her body, protecting her from harm.
Nothing happened to the spider but it really looked confused as the spheres seemed to block its every attempt at trying to bite her. It snapped at her a few more times with frustration building before hissing in its annoyance. Ivory was surprised that she had managed such a thing. It had to be her because the spheres were centered around her being. No doubt, this was a new ability that was produced from the armor. Honestly, Ivory was relieved that she managed such a thing. From now on, she could use this. Whenever a new ability presented itself with the armor, all Ivory had to do was think about it to use it.
So, she hadn't found all there was to this armor. Well, she figured that much anyway but still, it was rather exhilarating to know that there was more to it and probably even more than she could imagine. Maybe there was some hope for her left? Even if the spheres blocked the attacks from the spider, she knew that with time that she'd have to depend on something stronger than what she had earlier to attack with but with what?
As she debated this, the sudden idea about creating a spider the same size as the one fighting her popped into her mind. No sooner had that happened and a shade version of the same spider appeared, hissing and acting very much like the spider trying to eat her. Unlike the real spider though, this one was defending Ivory. The only thing with this one though is that it lacked any real poison to it and could do nothing more than scratch. She found that out when her shade spider attacked the big one, making it go backward.

Smiles had no clue as to where exactly Skull would be going once he left. He knew that the fissure was here early for some reason. No doubt from Snake's request. He had not liked Skull's answer at all. Smiles really needed to learn more about the fissure. He planned to use this upcoming mission then to really study him. Smiles knew that he would see just how powerful the creature was. He'd just have to tell Ivory to not lift a hand to help it. Could Skull really defeat a keyblade master? Especially as one as old as they one they were going to face.
Master Jasper was considered the oldest remaining keyblade masters alive. He did not have his youth any longer, but his wisdom was superior to the other three. Fang had sent three different people to kill him before, one of them being Fang himself. And not even he was able to kill the old man. Smiles wondered just how Skull planned to succeed where they had failed.
A few more hours passed as Smiles spent more time thinking about the fissures and their upcoming mission. A full day had now passed since Ivory had entered the third trial. She had till tonight before they left on their mission. The mission itself would not take long. From the folder Fang had given Smiles, Skull planned to simply walk right to the front door. Not very assassin like at all!
Thinking ahead, Smiles went ahead and returned to his room to freshen up. He needed nothing for the mission besides his own hands to summon his energy. He returned his books back to their shelves, then left the room. He then went ahead and made his way toward the main lobby. He would eat there and get another tray of food for Ivory for when she exited the final trial.

Ivory was surprised with the thing that took place. It were as if the armor was waking up or something after a long sleep. In a sense, it was alive. No,not like how people or animals or plants lived but this armor had a certain magic to it that it was alive. It reacted to her thoughts but only those that it could use to defend her or attack an enemy with. Granted, it couldn't do one hundred percent of what Darius's could do but their attacks were mostly similar. If anything, they varied in what type of energy they used. Darius's used light where Ivory's used darkness. They were two armors to one set.
As Ivory watched the shade spider fighting it out with the real spider, she could only wonder how long that would last. No doubt, having a big spider on your side was a good means of helping herself. In fact, seeing a shade spider that looked like it seemed to freak the real spider out a bit. When it bit the shade spider, it was pretty much surprised that it got no reaction from it. It really couldn't comprehend that the shade spider wasn't real which explained the lack of reaction to the bite the real spider just gave the shade spider.
The shade spider managed to make the real spider back off from Ivory, giving her room finally. As she watched the shade and real spider, she wondered what she could do to quicken this battle. No doubt, time here ran differently as opposed to the outside world. That and she wasn't even sure how her opponent was doing. Whoever they were, no doubt they weren't anywhere near their goal. If they had been, she would've been dead by now. If she didn't get moving soon, there was a high chance that they would reach the statue before she did.
Just like anyone that would end up here, Ivory didn't plan on dying anytime soon. Now that she thought about it, it was good to not know who her opponent was. If she did know who it was, it probably would just make it harder for her to do what she had to do here in order to survive. Just like the two trials before this one, she was relying on herself. Smiles' training helped a considerable deal, of course but when it came down to it, she was the one that had to do all of this herself. Smiles prepared her for what he could and, thought it had tired her out a lot and made her think it was harsh, it was because of how harsh he trained her that she managed to get this far. She probably would've died a lot sooner if it weren't for his training her.
Focusing on the spider, thinking of a means to quicken this battle, Ivory got an idea. Maybe there was a way to utilize the pillars of darkness somehow? They always seemed to come from the ground but what if that was changed up a bit? The problem with that was that she had to get to where the real spider was while the shade spider was attacking it. Well, she'd best get a move on. Time will not wait for her and if she kept dilly dallying, she could end up losing her life over it.
Hopefully, she wouldn't end up squashed in the process. Somehow, she knew the spheres that were protecting her would be dying out soon. The shade spider wouldn't last much longer than that either. Or so, that was a feeling she was getting from all of this. Ivory made way for the spider and hoped this wouldn't be the last thing she ever did. With thunderous footfalls all around her from real and shade spider alike, Ivory had to weave in and out of legs before finally coming to a stop under the real one. She had to act fast or she'd lose this chance.
Thinking she had to to something skyward, Ivory lifted both of her arms to the sky under the real spider's bulk. As she did this, four small pillars of darkness flew downwards from the heavens. They circulated in a small diameter around her. Well, they would have been around her if not for the fact that the spider was in the way.

Smiles found himself sitting on the couches of the main lobby with a tray on his lap. The chef had prepared some good food for him to eat and he was enjoying it as much as anyone could enjoy food. For the most part things were uneventful. Until he noticed people coming through the main lobby. And to his surprise none of them were members of the committee.
He could tell right away by the yellow of their eyes that these were fissures. No doubt they were Skull's companions. Snake had said that they would be accompanying all of their missions. Smiles wondered just how much thought went on behind those faces that they wore. Skull seemed different from the other fissures he had met. The one that they had accompanied to Destiny Island hadn't spoken a word. Yet these, five he counted, chatted with one another as if they were humans.
They didn't bother to take notice of him though. It was all very interesting. Perhaps some of the fissures were more evolved then others. But what caused this? How were they even born to begin with. Obviously it had something to do with the death of a keyblader. But what about a keyblader exactly created these creatures? There were just more questions, and not enough answers.
Finishing his meal, Smiles went over to the bar tender. "Thanks for the meal." He told the man, handing him the tray. The man responded with a nod, and then handed Smiles the other tray he had asked the chef to prepare for Ivory. Holding it with both hands he made his way back to the three rings.

Ivory could, in her peripheral vision while she stood under the real spider, see the spheres slowly fade away. No doubt, their time was spent. Even still, she couldn't move. Ivory, once she had executed this attack, couldn't move from where she was. Pretty much, she was a sitting duck. Even the shade spider she had created eventually started dimming away though it remained where she had it stand last, just fading away gradually with time.
As the five pillars of darkness she summoned from the sky circled on the body of the spider above, they eventually merged into a larger pillar that reached twelve feet in length. The beam was so powerful that is actually went right through the spider to converge around Ivory's body harmlessly.
All Ivory could do was just simply stand there, her arms still raised in the air while the darkness pillar continued to blast down. The real spider had let out a great cry during this attack. It reacted as anything would when hit by something so piercing and painful. Flailing in place, not really able to move because of the paralyzing pain, the spider was barely clinging to life at this point.
Gigantic hairy legs were moving all around Ivory but none would be able to hit her. The twelve foot pillar of darkness protected her from harm with its deadly beam being the very thing protecting her from harm.

Smiles returned to the room to find another person standing in the room. What was with everyone's sudden interest today? At first Smiles thought that Skull had returned, no doubt for another little chat. But Smiles was surprised to see it was not Skull. It was Snake. This was odd because for the most part, Snake never left past the main lobby. Smiles hadn't seen him out of really the top floors in years. What was he doing down here?
Strolling over with the plate of food, Smiles set it on the ground. The sound alerted Snake to his return, for the man turned to face him. "I thought I might come down and see these rings once more." He said to Smiles.
Walking over so that he was standing next to him, Smiles nodded. "Ivory is in the third." Indicating the third ring with a nod in its direction, Smiles wondered just what Snake wanted.
"I see. I guess if anyone could get through these rings it would be your prodigy." Snake said nothing more after that, which irritated Smiles. What did the old man want?
"Is there something you need?" Smiles asked, making it clear he was wondering just why Snake was here.
Snake glanced back over the rings instead of looking at Smiles when he spoke. "Do you think I'm doing the right thing? These fissures... should we trust them?"
Well that was different. Smiles didn't expect Snake to come and ask him his opinion on his proclamations. Not only that, Smiles wondered why Snake even cared. Smiles was not really the kind of person who often voiced his opinion. Instead he merely just acted on it. There was no friendship between Smiles and Snake. It was a mutual business partnership at most.
"I don't know. But I can tell you one thing. They are interesting." That was about as honest as an answer that Smiles could give.
His reward was a chuckled from Snake. "Ah yes. They are indeed. Fang's words... just have me second guessing. I shouldn't let him get to me. You know he wants to take over my chair. He wants to be the leader."
Yes, Smiles already knew this. But Smiles was a good at lying. "Oh does he?"
Snake nodded. "I have known for years that he has been trying to stab me in the back. His warnings are nothing more then an attempt to usurp me. But I won't let him. I'll die before I let that man become the leader of this organization!"
Finally glancing over at Smiles, Snake gave him a smile. It was an odd thing to see on the very stubborn man. "Thanks Smiles. Good luck with your mission, and I hope your girlfriend returns soon." Smiles said nothing as he left.

With her spheres and shade spider gone, Ivory knew that she'd be helpless once this attack was done and over with should it prove a failure. The attack itself took a while but she was glad that it didn't allow her to be harmed. The blasting energy around her was enough to protect her body at its center. Even the spider's body couldn't prevent it from getting through to her.
As the large pillar of darkness began to subside, Ivory looked up at the spider. Just how much damage had been done to it? Was this enough? Could the thing still move even with a giant hole in it? As she pondered this, Ivory watched as the pillar went away altogether, leaving her and the spider behind.
For a moment, neither of them had moved. It were as if time had suddenly stopped for the briefest of moments. Then, slowly but surely, the spider moved but not in a lively fashion. In fact, it simply tilted to the left and crashed into the ground, its great body causing the ground to quake. Ivory was forced to stumble, catching her balance then as the spider didn't get back up. Instead, it simply curled in its legs and that was it. It no longer moved and the thing pretty much appeared to be dead as Ivory cautiously wandered over to it.
It was true that spiders curled their legs in when they were dead but sometimes, that wasn't true. Ivory had to be sure the thing was dead as she walked right up to the thing's massive head. It wasn't clear how to tell if the spider was really looking back at her or not. Regardless, it unnerved Ivory. The size alone was enough to make her fear spider kind forever. Summoning her weapons again, she was surprised to see what had happened. Instead of the katanas, she had summoned a naginata. With her newfound power, so she had gotten a new weapon.
Blinking at it as she examined it for a moment, Ivory poked the spider in the center of the head. The thing didn't even react as she drove it into the spider's head. "Finally, you weren't an easy one!" With that, she turned and continued towards a thread strewn path. Hacking away at the threads, Ivory made her way down into the maze in search of the dragon statue.

Smiles glanced down at the cell phone in his hand. Two hours... That was the amount of time Ivory had to finish the event. If she did not, Smiles would have to leave without her. He had no clue as to what she was facing, or where she was even. He couldn't help but wonder if perhaps he had been wrong. Was Ivory ready? Had he sent her in too soon. There was a real chance for death in the third trial. Smiles remembered it well.
Glancing over to the tray he had brought down, Smiles wondered if Ivory would even have a chance to eat it. For once in his life, Smiles felt regret. He was not one to ever worry or second his decisions. Ivory's livelihood was making him do so. Turning back to the third ring, Smiles waited.
----------------------------
He glanced down to the dead spider he had just defeated. It had taken a bit more out of him then he had thought. There were cuts on his arms and even on his chest as well. He had defeated the opponent by using his small size as an advantage. The spider had been huge, but it stood no chance against his weapons, skills, and speeds.
It was odd to be able to use them again. He hadn't been able to do much of anything in what felt like hundreds of years. And now he was back, and with a purpose. He would not stop. He would get to that dragon statue.

Ivory had no idea that she only had two hours left to return before she would be left behind in the castle. In fact, she didn't even think so much time had passed since she left the present to enter this strange and twisted dimension. She knew nothing of the fact that she worried Smiles on the other side as she continued to run along the path she had cut her way through. As she got farther away from the area where the spider had been, the threads gradually grew weaker and thinner. Eventually, they waned and then they were gone entirely.
All she knew now was a wide open passage with twists and turns that she took. Sometimes, she had to backtrack down a pass and then she'd carry on another minute or so. Where this dragon statue was, she didn't know but hoped she'd reach the area it was in soon. Ivory wanted to get out of this maze and return to whence she came. The sooner, the better. She was tired of all the creatures she kept coming across and obstacles.
None of them had been easy and some were a bit time consuming but nowhere near as time consuming as that giant spider. Before Ivory knew it, there was suddenly a fog or mist that enshrouded the passages before her. Blinking, Ivory squinted to try and see further than five feet into the pass but it was too thick to get much detail out of it. 'How am I going to wander around in that?' she wondered. There was no use going all the way back and backtracking at this point. Figuring she had no other choice, Ivory stepped into the thick fog and hoped that she wouldn't lose her way in the process or end up killed because of a hidden enemy.

Ivory's opponent strolled around the corner to come in contact with what looked like a white wall. At first he thought it was just that. However upon closer inspection he realized that it was not a white wall, but that he had encountered what could only be a thick fog. Flexing his neck and arms, he had no choice but to move forward.
Keeping his senses open, he let his other senses rule him. He had no idea if there were enemies in this place, but he was ready for them if they were. He was not going to give up the chance fate had given him. Venturing further into the fog, he continued to go through the maze. He had no idea as to what was the correct pathways to take. And more then once he was force to turn back, but his sense of center allowed him to keep heading in what he felt was the right direction.
As he came around the bend he came to a stop. He could see the outline of what could only be a pedestal that held a two foot dragon statue. However even closer was the girl he could see coming to it. She would no doubt see his jet black hair spiked up, sharp green eyes, and the black cloak he wore around his body. He was no more then about eighteen years of age and strapped to his back was what could only be a sword with a skeleton handle.
---------------
Smiles glanced down to his phone once more. Ivory had less then an hour now.

It wasn't easy to see where she was going. As soon as she had stepped into the fog, Ivory had to turn back several times. Sometimes, she'd run into a stone wall or trip over something. It wasn't until she just let her other senses take over that she was finally able to stop stumbling so much. The fog here was pretty thick. Did this mean she had reached the center? She knew she had come pretty far into the maze but not to a point where she had over shot it.
If she didn't know any better, she could easily cut the fog with the blade of her naginata it was so thick. How anyone was suppose to find their way, she could only guess. Smell wouldn't get her very far unless an enemy that wreaked were to happen upon her. After going through a few bends and twists, she finally came out into some sort of opening. Giving pause, she blinked around. There seemed to be something somewhere in front of her that looked as if it were raised in the air. It looked almost like what the angel statue had stood upon. Barely she could see the silhouette of something.
However, her senses picked up on the fact that she wasn't the only one here. In the corner of her eye, she could see a dark patch in the thick fog. There, she found a figure. Due to the dark coloring of their attire and their hair, it was not too difficult to see them though their features were obscured from the fog. It looked as though she had found the opponent here. Who else could it be? Unlike everything else, the figure here looked pretty human or as close to a human as one could get. It wasn't easy to see and know for sure.
No doubt, that handle, or at least she thought she saw a handle, meant the opponent carried a weapon of sorts. 'Uh oh!' she thought. Compared to the other, she seemed to be closer to whatever the thing on the pedestal was. It looked like a statue of some sort. Since she was closer, as she glanced over at the opponent, she figured that he might want to fight her to get to it. Either that or the two of them were going to make a mad dash for it. It wasn't easy to tell but Ivory became cautious, watching him as best she could in what little she could see of him.

Ivory's opponent knew that the statue was right in front of him. But his opponent was closer to it. The question was, would his speed come in handy. The thing though, was that he wasn't here to touch the statue. Sure he had his chance of what was promised. But in the end the ancient magic would do as it always did. It wanted things done a certain way, and nothing would stop it. Especially since they were in its grasp.
He ran towards the pedestal. All he needed was to lay a hand on it to win. But the ancient magic had second thoughts as to his winning. It seemed so unfair, after giving him this chance. The ancient magic slowed him down, making the fog around him thick as water. This lowered his speed tremendously. He could only watch as his opponent no doubted made a dash towards the pedestal. She was much faster then he had expected.
He cried out, but his call came to late. "Don't touch it!" There fate was sealed. The ancient magic no doubt had won.

Ivory had been facing her opponent, not really sure what to do here and was trying to anticipate what he was going to do. For some reason, something was nagging at the back of her mind to run. Ivory didn't obey it at first as she watched the opponent, trying to decipher his movements. It wasn't easy to tell if he were a real person or not in this dimension. So, she had thought he had been a figment conjured by the dimension she was in. He wasn't real...was he? Honestly, Ivory hoped she didn't see her opponent. Now that she had, it made her apprehensive.
Then, without warning, the sudden compulsion to run overcame her. Before Ivory even realized what she was doing, she was suddenly being forced to run towards the pedestal. Eyes widening, wondering what forces were behind this, Ivory could see her opponent. For some strange reason, it seemed like it was holding him back on purpose. What kind of test was this? No matter, she wasn't in control of her actions and before long, she was placed right before the pedestal, so close that she could touch it if she moved.
Hearing the other's shout, it had been a little too late. Somehow, the dimension here compelled her to move without her consent or will. It wasn't giving her opponent a fair try, it seemed. "S-STOP IT!" she shouted at whatever was making her move. "Y-You're cheating!" she told it. It was taking every fiber to try and stop herself from being pushed forward by whatever force was compelling her, so much so that she was tipping onto her toes, her nose very close to the statue itself. What the hell was going on?

Sadly for the two of them it didn't matter that Ivory had not directly touched it. The angel had made it clear. The first person to find the dragon statue was the winner. Being this close to it, the magic could act. Overhead the sound of wings flapping brought about the appearance of the angel from before. However as it descended from the sky, it flapped away the remainder of the fog. As it did, it revealed that both Ivory and her opponent were standing on what was a golden ring on the ground.
A sudden light flashed from the edges in a yellow force field, preventing form their escape. Ivory's opponent slammed his weapon against the force field around them, but it did nothing but cause his weapon to bounce off. The angel spoke from above them. "Two may enter, but only one may leave."
The angel form above held out both hands and yellow energy, matching the wall, poured out of his hands. There was no blocking it for Ivory's opponent. It struck him straight on, and when it did it left nothing in its wake. Ivory's opponent was gone.
A moment later a ring, the same that Ivory had entered in her other trials, appeared before her. She had completed the trial, the way was open to leave.

Ivory, try as she might, couldn't get herself to stop teetering on the spot. She refused to win on such pretenses. If there was a fair and square battle or something, she would've accepted it more. Unfortunately, the magic here only allowed the first figure that either got close to it or saw it to go flying towards the pedestal where the dragon statue was and would impede the other from reaching it. It wasn't a fair trial. Granted, the others weren't exactly easy but they had seemed to abide by their own laws and didn't do something like this.
The sound of wings from on high reached her. Blinking, Ivory tried to turn her head but if she moved, she risked falling into the statue face first. So thus, she was forced to keep her eyes on the statue before her. As the sound of wings continued, the fog around her, she noticed, went away. Then, all of a sudden, a golden force field around them went up. Instead of touching the statue, Ivory fell back on her butt in her surprise, having found enough momentum to send her backward to keep her from touching the statue.
Looking around, she saw that she and her opponent were entrapped in some sort of magical field. She watched as her opponent hit the force field with his weapon but made no dent in it. Neither of them could escape if they had wanted to. It wasn't long before the stone angel above them had spoken once again. Two were allowed to enter but only one was allowed to leave. She remembered these words well but it bothered her on how she had been suddenly forced to go near the statue against her will.
The stone angel held out his hands, energy forming in them resembling the force field they were in. Ivory ducked as the energy came spewing out at them but the energy was never meant to hit her. Instead, it hit her opponent. Ivory had discovered that when she recovered, looking toward where he had been standing last. Whatever energy had been issued, it had disintegrated her opponent. Like it or not, she had completed the trial.
As Ivory looked towards the angel, she narrowed her eyes. This was not what she had in mind in completing the trial at all. It wasn't a fair ending. Suddenly, a ring just like her previous trials, appeared before her leading the way out. Pushing herself up off the ground, Ivory glanced back at where her opponent had been last. No doubt, he had just been killed. At least, that's what it looked like. Glancing over at the angel, Ivory sighed before shaking her head. There was no use arguing the point now. The other guy had just been killed off. Even now, she could feel the ancient magic working on her, nagging at her to leave.
"I thought one was to touch the statue, not actually see it first. I thought, fair and square, one of us was suppose to touch it! But...fine, this is your domain." It shocked her, to say the least and no doubt, it left a bad impression on her. Ivory would have a hard time forgetting this one as she made her way to the ring and stepped out of it.
