Ivory didn't expect Smiles to know for sure. She jut figured by observation alone that if anyone lost a part of themselves that they wouldn't be quite right. As she stood there, she heard Artemis speak to her. Apparently, Master Isaac was an unpredictable person. According to Artemis, Isaac seemed to be mentally off as if something might've been missing. Well, that pretty much answered it for her then. "Yeah, I would think so."
While she watched Master Isaac just standing there, she felt a sudden wave of unhappiness. It was so sudden that Ivory couldn't explain it. Why was she sad? It wasn't too strong but she was certain she felt sorrow coming from somewhere. Much like the emotions she had felt before, this one she couldn't find a source to. Could it possibly be Artemis feeling these kind of emotions? She didn't pry, doing her best to focus on Isaac.
It was starting to get boring, standing there and just watching Isaac stare out into the crowd. What could this keyblade master be doing? He had made it sound to Lakari like he had some urgent things to do. However, once the elf had left, he didn't appear to be in any sort of hurry. 'Maybe he got sick of the elf?' she wondered to herself although Artemis could probably hear every single thought of her's anyway. It seemed even if she directed her thoughts to him or not that he could tell what she was thinking. No real sense of privacy and what an awkward case this was. They would have to figure out how to fix their situation somehow. If there really was a solution to their situation. If so, it was only going to get all the more awkward depending on how long Ivory lived for and what relationships she developed over the years. After all, how do you explain to a significant other that you have a person in your head too? That was a sure trip to the insane asylum. Ivory and Artemis did not need to end up somewhere like that.
A woman's voice came from the shadows, making Ivory turn to the source. When she spotted the woman and how she was dressed, Ivory rose her eyebrows. 'I'm pretty sure I don't need to tell you this but from someone that wears armor, I'm fairly certain her's is just for show!' she said. Apparently, whoever this woman was, she didn't like the elf. She had been watching the entire time. Dismissing it, Master Isaac asked her what she had to report. So, he already had a spy? What for? Ivory listened intently as they spoke.
Smiles got closer and Ivory silently followed. She said nothing as she listened to the conversation about "long bear" and "mouse". No doubt, she was referring to the king and possibly the elderly wizard or one of the keyblade masters other than Isaac. Either way, she knew who the woman was talking about. One of them, like Master Isaac, had apparently gone rogue but Isaac wasn't going to ally with him. According to Isaac, the man would only fail. How did he know this though? Apparently, Isaac had knowledge the other lacked. Probably from the powers he had gained when he had killed Thomas and produced Skull.
The woman gave a sigh at this and then asked what she should do now. Master Isaac just told her to continue to watch them and report to him. The woman sounded rather bored but agreed to it. As she left, Master Isaac apparently finished his business here and opened up a portal and left.

Smiles had an idea of just what they were talking about. The return of Master Xehanort was recorded in history books. Anyone with an access to a library could read about the battle between the heroes of light and the seventeen darknesses. It was an exciting tale, one that was shared with many children as they grew up.
But that was a time some four hundred years ago. From what it sounded like this was even before that. Something had happened on this day to create a shadow copy of the world. Smiles though was a bit confused still. Before when the fissure had been born, the world had automatically reset. As far as they had seen so far, the world had not reset.
He was wrong. Master Issac, though he had visited this world this day, was not the reason the world reset. "This wasn't it... I thought that the keyblader was the reason this world was reset. I was wrong. It must have been something else." He told Ivory.
There was no point in waiting around here anymore. "Let's get out of this place." Leading the way, he went back the way he came. He remained quiet, preferring to think over everything he knew.
The birth of the fissure occurred the same time the world reset. Was this reason or simply coalition? Smiles had first thought that it was reason, now he wasn't too sure. A fissure had been born in this world again, but it was destroyed. Coming to the end of theater, Smiles opened the door and exited the building.
What greeted him when he left was chaos. Dark clouds loomed overhead and lightning flashed across the earth. People screamed in pure terror and ran this way and that. And at the center of the commotion was the fissure. He was attacking the people here.

Ivory glanced over at Smiles when he said that this hadn't been it. Raising an eyebrow as she looked over at him curiously, Ivory heard him say that the keyblade master hadn't been the reason why this world reset like Timeless River did. "So this place resets like Timeless River too? Interesting." So, what was the something else that would cause this world to reset? What memory did this world contain as a secret for them to see?
With that, Smiles stated that they should get out of this theater, with a nod, Ivory followed his lead out of the theater. Her mind mulled over the things she had witnessed while they had been here. It was interesting. They knew more about the fissures now and the keyblade master's involvement with them.
By the time they got outside, there was utter chaos. Ivory looked around in wonder. "What the-?" she exclaimed before spotting the source of the commotion. There, in the center of it all, was a fissure. Since Skull had been the first of his kind and the second one had been killed before its time, it was no doubt that this fissure here would be Skull. Dark clouds loomed from on high and lightning flashed as the fissure attacked people.
"I guess this explains where Skull went?" she thought. She didn't think this was a different one. It had to be Skull.

Smiles nodded. "Yes. I have never seen this before in this world." This was only the second time Smiles had visited the world. And during the first, he had not stayed in town. Instead he had taken a caravan out into the country. That was why he had missed it.
The fissure attacked people as they came, throwing them if they got to close, or chasing after them. Smiles made his way through the running crowd, knowing that they could not get hurt. At least... not by the humans. This made Smiles pause. The fissure could see them could it not? If so then it might be able to attack them as well.
Standing about twenty feet away, Smiles summoned his guns. He looked over to Ivory and was glad to see she had not dispersed her armor. "If Skull was correct that he could see you then, then the fissure can see you now. Be careful." Artemis told Ivory.
However there was no reason to be afraid. A woman appeared keyblade in hand. She was about seventeen years old. She paused in front of the fissure, her keyblade held up and ready. Smiles watched her charge and the two do battle. She was young, but she was already more experienced then many older warriors. Thus was the strength of a keyblader.
The fissure, though frightening, was taking some good hits. Though in the end it was the fissure who was the stronger. The keyblader slashed down, going for an opening in the fissure's stance. The opening was a feint. The fissure slipped into a shadow and jumped out behind her. His claw hand reached from behind and tore into her neck. Hitting such a vital artery there was no chance of survival. The keyblader dropped.
And like so many other times that they had witnessed, a fissure was born from her wake. However unlike the ones from Master Issac and the elf, the fissure looked exactly like the one Skull had shown them in the meeting room. It was weaker and smaller. Skull glanced down at the newborn fissure. It held out its hand and the fissure became one with Skull. As the fissure combined with Skull, Skull grew bigger and Smiles guessed stronger as well. Skull let out an inhuman screech and its eyes turned on the only remaining people still in the square. That would be Smiles and Ivory. Of course as its eyes locked on them, the world around them suddenly faded away into a white nothingness. Then it came back as it had in Timeless River. Smiles and Ivory were now standing among a group of moving people as crowded as when they entered.

Ivory looked over at Smiles when he replied to what she had said. This was apparently a new discovery for him in this world. Looking at the chaos, Ivory did not remove her armor out of habit by now. She wasn't sure if the people here or even the fissure could hurt them or not. So, it was best to keep it on until she did know for sure. If the fissure could see them as Skull had claimed, no doubt this meant that it could potentially attack them. She heard Artemis's warning and gave a nod. 'I'll be wary.'
No matter what people did, the fissure would toss people if they got too close or chase after them. Amidst the commotion, a girl arrive don the scene carrying a keyblade. She was younger than Master Isaac and the other keybladers that Ivory had seen in Timeless River. She had to be maybe, if lucky, close to Thomas's age.
As the two saw each other, immediately they went into a battle. It was clear that Skull was hit a good number of times but despite that, Ivory knew he'd survive. If he didn't, he wouldn't be in their present time, after all. Sure enough, after what seemed like forever, Skull leapt into a shadow and appeared right behind her. He had been lucky, striking a vital area of the neck. Without further to do, the girl collapsed, dead.
Ivory watched as a new fissure was born from her body. Having been a keyblader, of course she would produce a fissure. Why these things sprung up from a dead keyblader made no sense. With the way Master Isaac had created the first one, it didn't make sense how just keybladers produced them this way. Unlike Master Isaac, the dead keybladers did not kill someone else and open the door to the Heart of Darkness. They just died and somehow created fissures. How was that possible? What had Master Isaac done that made it that way? Fissures didn't seem to exist until after Master Isaac did what he did.
As he had done to the other fissures, Skull had extended an arm towards the newborn fissure. Like they did numbers of times before, the newborn fissure traveled up Skull's arm and into Skull himself! So, they didn't just conjoin inside the host's body but also seemed to become a part of Skull. In doing so, it looked as if he had gotten larger, stronger. As the past Skull looked over at them, Ivory stood still. Before something could happen, the scene reset on them right then and there.
"So, in order to be as strong as he is, Skull has a number of fissures inside of him. We only know of maybe five of them so far but there could be even more than that!" she stated. She glanced around as the scene popped up again, this time people just walking around like the last time they had been.
"Still...how is it that fissures can also be born from keybladers that have died? They didn't exist until after Master Isaac did what he did with Thomas, right? So...how come this is happening? It's just keybladers for the most part too. Granted, Lakari made one but he did what Isaac did pretty much. No one else has been sprouting up fissures, right? So why just keybladers?"

Artemis watched everything as it happened. He was not comfortable with these creatures one bit. "I can tell you that while I was alive I've never heard of these creatures. I've visited several worlds, yet no one I know has run into them."
As the world around them reset, Smiles was just confused as Ivory. It was good to have someone else though point out the inconsistencies that he was seeing as well. "Not only that but why can that fissure join with Skull? The only way that can happen is if these fissures are all connected somehow. To be able to join with something, it would stand to reason that you have to share something that allows it so. But perhaps these creatures are simply something we as humans cannot explain. I have a feeling they do not follow the same sort of rules that humans do."
There was nothing more they could learn here. But that was not to say that Smiles was giving up. He knew of one more place to go. The only problem was, he had never found the means of getting there. If only he had found that book! But no matter how hard he tried, he could not find it. He found many references to the said book, but never once had he found the actual name of it. Or where to find it even.
Smiles was silent in thought. The book belonged to a keyblade master. Smiles was sure that the book would be found in where the master was from, Disney Castle. However neither Disney Castle or Timeless River showed him where the book was. Stretching out his hand, Smiles summoned a portal of darkness. "Let's return to base, there is something I need to check."

Ivory listened to Artemis when he spoke. According to him, they hadn't been heard of when he was alive. As she looked back over at Smiles, she listened to what he was saying. It was good to know that she wasn't on the wrong page. At least she had a sharp mind. Maybe nothing as sharp compared to Smiles but she was understanding the situation presented to them to a degree. It seemed where they had found answers, they also found many more questions to be figured out.
Now that Smiles had pointed that out, she thought of an organism that could merge with others. It sounded like they were a gamete. The cells that created what they were but fissures were larger in that extent. "Hm...sounds like a gamete cell! Er...I mean, kinda but...er...m-m-more like prokaryotic cells! Yes, those! You know, the ancient cells that were said to form eukaryotic cells which eventually produce an organism such as ourselves through symbiosis? The merging reminds me of symbiosis." She really hoped she didn't turn too red at the fact she mentioned a very...different kind of cell that was somewhat similar but definitely nothing like what the other one she mentioned was considering Skull wasn't...doing that. 'Bad first thought!' she thought with embarrassment.
"A-Anyways...if that's what it is...what will the fissures merge into eventually form wise? Could that be what Skull means by them being whole?" Probably not but it seemed it. Ivory had paid attention a lot in science class. All the while, Smiles was silent. After a moment, he tore open a portal and suggested they returned to base since there was something that he needed to check. Giving a nod, Ivory followed his lead.
"Alright."

Smiles considered what Ivory said. The way she did describe it, it did make sense. A symbiote potentially could have the power to take over another being. The cell would have to be of such strength that it could take over a being in a matter of moments. If Skull was a simple cellular orgainsm, then it had sure evolved way past what they were. Either way, they were not going to get the answer here.
Artemis, who had heard everything inside of Ivory's head, snickered. "I don't think your thoughts are going to answer back." He teased with a soft chuckle.
Smiles had opened a portal directly to his room. There was no point in going through the castle when the place he needed to check was his bookshelf. Stepping in, Smiles room was the same as it was before. He had not bothered to pack anything as of yet. What he was looking for was found on his tall bookshelf filled with different books.
Pulling out one with a green cover, he brought it over to his bed. The title read, "A History of Masters: A Complete Guide To The Masters". It was a book on keyblade masters. The author had published the book a few years ago, going to the many keyblade masters themselves and finding out all he could about the history of the keyblade masters. The result was this book. It wasn't a well respected book. It was regarded as having more fiction then fact. However Smiles knew that even among fiction a little bit of truth could be found.
It was this book that had first sent him on his search in Timeless River. He had the page already marked that he had been looking for. "He looked down upon the river that was now flooding his room, and he knew instantly the cause of the distortion. The book that he had read from had caused this mess." Smiles read aloud. "From the chapter Master Yen Sid."
This is where Smiles became confused. "It says right here that Master Yen Sid made Disney Castle his home during the training of his apprentice. But I've checked both Disney Castle in the past and present and the book wasn't there."
Smiles flipped to the next page going to a different chapter. It had all the keyblade masters in here. He came to a pause at the biggest chapter. Of course it was the chapter of Sora. After all he was the most known Keyblade Master of all time. The story of Sora was widely known in every history book. And the author had spent several chapters telling of some "hidden" stories that had not been shared in the history book. Smiles had read those chapters and had regarded them as fiction for the most part. There was no way that half of the things that "Sora" supposedly had done, could actually happen.
Flipping through the chapter though he came to a pause at Twilight Town. "There he met the great Master Yen Sid..." This made Smiles pause. Smiles had thought that Master Yen Sid had been in Disney Castle. What was he doing in Twilight Town. Reading through the chapter himself now, Smiles suddenly smiled. He had found it! "The Sorcerer's Loft. That's where it is."
Smiles summoned a dark portal. "One more trip to the past Ivory."

Ivory felt like slapping her forehead just now after accidentally uttering the wrong one. Where she was close with her first thought, the fact she uttered that was just embarrassing. The mention of the symbiosis and prokaryotic cells was fine, it's the other cells she accidentally uttered first that were the problem. Thankfully, Smiles didn't look at her odd for the wrong cells she mentioned before she brought up the other cell type. Her mind, after all, wasn't in the gutter and neither had it gone there intentionally. She was searching for a cell comparison since it had reminded her of such when it came to the way Skull merged with the other fissure and the first cells she did mention did merge...just not in the way she was looking for until she came to prokaryotics instead.
After she had said that and mentally scolded herself, she heard Artemis snickering and chuckling at her. Hearing his words, she gave a flat look. 'I know that! I was just mentally scolding myself for the wrong thought! ...The very wrong thought!' she replied. Thankfully, her face managed to calm down. How embarrassing!
Taking her mind off of what she had said, Ivory turned and followed Smiles's lead. As they stepped through, Ivory glanced around the area they were in. No doubt, this was his room. She recalled the first and only time she had come here. It hadn't really changed compared to the last time she remembered it. He didn't seem to have started packing just yet. After what they went through, Ivory wasn't even sure if she wanted to go waltzing right into the midst of the fissures. Skull said he hadn't cared if they explored further into his past but he had made it clear that their use was dwindling. Of course, he could've meant Smiles since he had been speaking to him specifically but Ivory doubted that it was just Smiles he had meant.
She watched as Smiles plucked a book from his bookshelf and went over to his bed with it. On the side, she read the title "A History of Masters: A Complete Guide to the Masters". Ivory let him read through it, idly glancing at the screen that she had thought was a large television screen when she first came to this organization. Now, she knew it was a screen used to communicate to the other members of the committee. Ivory half considered getting out of Smiles's business but he hadn't dismissed her. So, she waited patiently.
After a moment, Smiles read aloud an excerpt. Curious, she looked back over at him, listening. He was talking about the chapter "Master Yen Sid." She watched as a look of confusion came upon Smiles's face before he continued. Walking over a little, she listened closely as he went on to say that the Master had made Disney Castle his home as he trained his apprentice. The book he was searching for though hadn't been there. She had recalled Smiles having her help him search through the small library in Timeless River. They didn't find a trace of the book they searched for.
Once again, there was a moment of silence as Smiles continued to read through the chapter he was in. Ivory remained patient and quiet. Not really sure of what to do, she sort of just wandered back into her thoughts about Skull and what they saw and learned. Whole. What did Skull mean by whole? Smiles started talking again, Ivory glancing over at him as he mentioned someone meeting someone at Twilight Town. Most likely he meant Yen Sid. Then, Smiles mentioned the Sorcerer's Loft. Confusion on Smiles's face had lifted and once again, he was smiling. Sometimes, she had to wonder if his cheeks ever got exhausted from smiling so much.
With that, SMiles summoned a dark portal. Looking over at him as he spoke, Ivory gave a nod. "Sounds good to me!" With that, she followed his lead again through the new portal he opened up.
