(OOC: I was supposed to type this up like 3 hours ago -_-. Damn Pokemans and it's life stealing ways. So if I am ever late for a post, which shouldn't really happen, I just wanted you to know there's no valid excuse lol. If you do have it it, do yourself a favor and watch the character roller skate to the Bee Gees. It's amazing 0_0. Oh and the post for Tuesday may be delayed as well. I swear, it has nothing to do with a certain blue-hedgehog having a game released on that day.)
So far, Kress was really enjoying talking to another person. Well, one without fur at least. He wasn't exactly sure if Kendra was just really kind or if the people of other worlds than his were accepting. Maybe both, but he pretty much assumed it was the former rather than the latter. Upon hearing the answer to his first question, the boy couldn't help but let a small chuckle. He just found it hilarious how his weasel companion talked down to Kendra, but was so obviously inferior when it came to the water element. Unfortunately for Kendra, Wes's water magic could only dampen at best, so the boy and his weasel wouldn't of be in much use in that sense. Scratching the back of his head, Kress gave his friend a nervous smile. "Ummm... Yeah.. about that. I don't think Wes's magic can really help you out that much. Some of Wes's elemental abilities are weaker than other's, water happens to be a weaker one of his."
Words couldn't describe how lame the boy felt. Here he was asking so much of his new ally while he could barely even help her out. Seeing a mage that was strong in one element was really humbling, as if he wasn't humble enough. When it came to physical ability, the one ounce of confidence Kress even had in himself was that he could use multiple elements. Kendra was proving to him that trying to master one could be just as, if not more efficient. It genuinely interested him, but his mind was begining to wonder off topic. In all reality, the only thing that snapped him out of his trance was Kendra answering his second question.
Well, although it wasn't the exact answer he was looking for, he understood. It was a tad ridiculous that Kress expect her to be able to manipulate the sea, more than once at that. The thing that really broke Kress was hearing his friend apologise. Did she really feel sorry for not being able to move the sea? He certainly hoped not. "Hey, It's not a big deal Kendra. We'll find another way to take out those ships. We're two smart people, right? Well, two smart people and a half counting Wes. That's being generous towards Wes." Kress smiled at the water witch before grabing his heavily-scribbled on paper. It appear the elf-eared boy would once again have to add or tweak his plan, but it was for the best. He'd much rather go through a little more hassle than have Kendra strain herself trying to manpulate the sea.
Before Kress could even could think of anything, his third question was answered. The boy was a bit surprised to hear Kendra's answer, but in a different way. Unlike the previous answer, he was pretty sure Kendra wouldn't have any sort of extra gadgets or gear. After all, she didn't seem to need any. Being able to cast spells on her own was a luxury that Kress didn't know. The thing that really caught him off guard was the fact she referred to his gadgets as 'cool stuff.' Really? There was something that was cool on this nerdy guy? He was estatic. "These things? Well, the small circular thingy's are my smokebombs. You saw those earlier. Not too useful. The tiny ear pieces are mini tranceviers. I made them just in case me and Wes ever get seperated. Kinda lost their usefulness when we figured out we were connected telepathically." Kress paused about to move on with the conversation, but then saw his medi-bots.
"Oh, right. The miniature robot-gizmo's with the helicopter-blades, those are my medi-bots. They're alright I guess. They just tend to small wounds." Although Kress was talking about his gadget's, his eyes never left Kendra's staff. How could a wooden staff magnify her magic? He really wanted to examine it closer, but decided not to do so. In his younger years, he'd of yanked it from her as soon as he was even just a tad curious. It seemed it'd be better if he just didn't do anything too weird, he'd just started to get comfortable with Kendra.
Thinking back to the plan, Kress couldn't seem to get his brain moving like it normally did. Sure, he was able to think up plenty of ideas about boarding the ships, but sinking them was a different story. The would sit there puzzled until his weasel muttered something in his sleep. "All hands on deck... Fire all the cannons men.." At first, Kress simply shook his head, wondering why in the hell Wes was dreaming about pirates. It took a few moments for the boy to realise his sidekick had a moment of accidental genuis. While he was asleep too. That was slightly impressive. "Cannons! Of course. If we use the cannons on the port or even on the ships, we could easily take them out. Well, granted they're loaded." Looking over at Kendra, Kress wasn't sure how she felt on this matter. Being so caught up in his planning, he hadn't even considered her input. "What do you think Kendra? Got anything better?"

[OOC: Pokemon!? My life has been taken over by the same thing! Don't worry about lateness it's fine. We should battle sometime! Or, at least add each other for safaris~ 0774-4575-7900. Pokemon is essentially all I do anymore =P but I can't during class so I'm posting instead. Send me a PM~ Also, wooden staff? =P] Despite the conversation being nothing out of the ordinary, the topic was so exciting to the girl and she was so enthralled with how the boy presented himself, even if he did seem a bit awkward at times. There was a variety of things that went through the girl's mind, regarding feeling good about how her magic could be regarded as so strong, wanting to assure him that not being able to help her out in terms of wetness wasn't an issue, and most of all, receiving a compliment. Being called smart. That was her most favorite compliment she could ever receive. This made her smile. She got distracted though when the boy started to describe his various gadgets and tools, occasionally talking down on his own toys. She took that and compared it her talking down her own spells, which despite lacking the ability to associate with people one thing she couldn't stand was her magic being called a joke. She wouldn't ever do anything about it or stand up for herself much but she still hated it. She wanted to see him happier about his inventions. "Well, I think they're neat! You shouldn't be so hard on yourself." She said, trying to inspire him more to appreciate what he's capable of. Of course, she's never actually seen any of these works besides the smoke bomb, but that smoke bomb was a really cool device that imposed a very necessary niche in the scuffle they had with pirates before, and if that was impressive she could only imagine what other cool things he could be capable of with other devices. IT made her think about her own magic - he didn't seem to disappointed when she explained the slowness of manipulating the seas and instead treated it as no big deal. Were his expectations low? Well, she definitely wanted to blow him away though and try her best. It made her pumped. After the little sleeping weasel spoke up in a bit of sleep talk, Kress had an amazing idea to suggest that they use the cannons to take out the ships. They just had to puncture the hulls to make them sink right? To what extent did that have to be destroyed? Probably a good question to ask. "No, that would probably work, but we can split up! There is two of us after all, right?" she said, indicating she had something else up her sleeve. "I'm pretty sure I can pierce the ships with ice missiles, I mean, it would take a while for them to start sinking since they're not terribly big, but it is something, right? Just what extent do we need to destroy these?" She said, getting everything out in mostly one breath. This way she managed to ask her question while providing the key suggestion that she could also assist in sinking ships, albeit slowly. She felt really comfortable to speak as well, which was a big surprise. No one was ever this nice to her, and to think if she was never sent here she never would've met this boy or devise these plans or anything. If she could just be with Kress and do stuff with him from now on and never have to deal with others again, she felt she could be much happier. A pit formed in her stomach when she remembered her mentor wanted her to find a total of five people to be nice to. That wasn't going to happen anymore.

Kress tilted his head a bit after hearing that Kendra found his many trinket's 'neat.' Really? Someone genuinely thought that his inventions were good? Although he was pretty sure she was sincere, he found it hard to believe. These were the same invention's that got him ridiculed and teased about during his school days and now he was being told that they weren't all crappy. Believable or not, Kress was grateful to hear a compliment. It made him feel less like the awkward dorky nerd he was and a little more like an average person.
As Kendra suggested that they spilt up and take on the ships, Kress slapped himself on the forehead. Of course. Why hadn't he thought of something so simple and effective? The only thing that worried him about the idea was the fact that he couldn't watch her back and have her watch his. But she was right. The fastest way to rid the pirates of their ships would be to take them on separately. If Kress wasn't impressed by Kendra already, he would have to be after she told him she could sink the ships with ice missiles. She really was making this a lot easier on the boy. Planning on his own always stressed him out, but now he had two minds working on the plan.
"Yeah, ice missiles would most likely sink those things. Let's just be careful when we're split up Kendra. You saw what kind of trouble I got into when I was on my own." Kress let out a small chuckle before sliding the mini transceiver down to her. "We can use these when we're sinking the ships.... Y'know, communicate to each other and make sure everything is going to plan." The transceivers made having to split up a little less stressful to the boy. He knew Kendra could handle herself, but the pirates did have the bigger numbers on both of them. At the very least, the transceivers could at least let Kress have someone besides Wes to talk to.
Kress was pretty content with this set up of the plan, it seemed to be the most full-proof one of the few he had made. The only thing they needed to account for was how to board the captain's ship when the other ships were destroyed, but Kress figured they'd cross that bridge when they got there. "Yeah, I like that plan. Splitting up is a great idea, but I'd recommend we regroup as soon as we take those ships out. The less time they have to gang up on us when we're alone, the better." The boy was feeling a combination of excitement and nervousness as he folded up the plan-paper and stuffed it into his pocket.
Unfortunately, finishing the plan also meant that Kress would have to wake up his weasel when they were all set to go. A moment Kress was dreading. It was nice talking to Kendra while the weasel was asleep,, but Kress was fairly certain he be able to have a normal with the girl again. Even if Wes made it hard to communicate with Kendra, she would most likely just ignore the little rascal eventually. That's how Kress was able to deal with him. "Hey, whenever you're all set, just let me know. I assume you probably wanna finish up there pal." Kress shed a smile, taking a sip from his coffee.

Going over the idea of splitting up made Kendra more confident that he was willing to go with it. Divide and conquer, as it was called. She nodded as he reiterated the usefulness of their strategy, however remained perfectly still as he noted the potential danger - specifically of being overwhelmed. Well, she was sure a bunch of measly old pirates wouldn't be able to get close if she used her long range to keep them at bay before they could get close. She would be sure to verbalize this thought of hers once he was finished musing over his own thoughts in respect to a certain politeness she was taught.
Though, he seemed to have a great addition to their new plan; the receivers. This way, they could keep in direct contact at all times and whenever one needed help the other could jump right in and offer the assistance necessary. She was liking this more and more, her excitement slowly building as everything became realized and all that would be left is mobilizing and execution of everything they discussed. Had it not been for Kendra being actively engaged in Kress's speech she may have not been able to contain herself.
When he gave the ready nod, the mage could only smile. She was more than ready. "Let's do this!" she said, clapping her hands together in front of her chin to let some of the excess enthusiasm flow. She seemed to be having a great time, as it felt great to actually make a friend. She was far from cured from her social ineptness, as any new person she would meet would still get her awkward stance however Kress was just now an exception to her rule.
Everything they planned seemed flawless. Hitting ships with magic and cannonballs seemed simple enough, dealing with ordinary humans such as the pirates didn't seem too difficult as well due to their distinct disadvantage, and she was sure her friend would be fine on his own. Technically, he had a companion who would probably support him, as she couldn't imagine the weasel risking his own safety to play a mean joke in sacrifice of Kress's safety.
The girl took one final bite of her nearly finished second apple and a final sip of her chocolate milk and despite her excitement still gently placed the cup back on the table. "I am totally ready right now." She said, burning with a certain passion.

Kress was not expecting the girl to seem slightly anxious about attacking the pirates. He was as well of course, but he wasn't exactly considered normal. But then again, who couldn't be anxious to take on pirates? Even Kress was excited and the boy despised any type of confrontation. "Alright then, just let me wake up Wes and pay the bill. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes." Letting out a sigh, Kress tapped his weasel on it's head, causing the critter to jolt up. "Aghh! Dammit Kress, your hands are freaking freezing!" The boy let out a small chuckle as he handed his weasel his munny pouch, feeling a bit smug. It wasn't very Often that Kress was able to bother or upset Wes, so he always felt a small sense of accomplishment in doing so.
"I treated pal, why don't you go up and pay for me? You know I hate that part." With a bit of a grumble, Wes scurried off towards the counter of the pub. In all actuality, Kress didn't mind paying in the slightest, it was just a way for him to keep Wes away a little longer. Even if he didn't say anything to Kendra while Wes was gone, he could at least finish the last of his coffee in peace. Taking the final sip of his coffee, Kress looked over at the bar section of the pub. He had never seen so many grungy people in one place at a time. It made him wince a little. Could everyone in this place be a pirate? Seemed pretty unlikely, but even if they were, they looked nothing like the ones he had seen earlier. Being so focused on the bar, he hadn't realised he had been silent for a few moment's. Kress figured he may as well not waste an opprotunity to speak to Kendra without Wes present.
"Hey Kendra, how much food do you think is stuck in these guy's beards? Like collectively? I'm thinking enough to feed a small town. I doubt they'd wanna eat it though." As soon as the dumb joke left Kress's mouth, covered his face with his hand a bit. Out of all the things he could of said or asked, he made a stupid joke. It only seemed fitting that the boy's mind would've thought up everything he wanted to ask about Kendra after he had already spoke up. He was so nervous about his comment, hearing his partner's voice was a moment of relief. With Wes back, his comment would probably be over looked. He hoped.
"Alright kiddies, we're all set. What's the plan again?" Shooting Wes a slight glare, Kress shook his head. "Here's the plan Wes, just sit on my shoulder." The weasel simply shrugged, climbing up to Kress's shoulder. As he stood up, Kress could only feel anxious and nervous. He couldn't believe that he was really about to have a battle with pirates. Sure, he had been planning it out, but now it was about to actually happen. The pushed in his chair, motioning for Kendra to follow him. "C'mon partner, let's go kick some pirate booty.... Pun toatally not intended."
Kress made his through the pub, finally reaching the door knob after walking through the crowded building. If there was one thing that really irked the boy, it was having to walk through a crowd. Luckily for Kress, he was able to get through the mass of people rather quickly and without too much physical contact from strangers. Pulling the door open as fast as he could, Kress walked out of the pub and onto the street. "Alright, my transceiver is on Kendra, how's yours working?"

The water enchantress couldn't help but attempt to stifle laughter at the Weasel's reaction to finally being woken up. She wasn't so much pleased with his misfortune as she was amused by his uncanny response. Hopefully that involuntary laugh wouldn't come back to bite her in the ass. In any case, the little wiggler was sent up to pay for their meal which left the two of them alone once more. Well-played, she had to admit.
Once there was some empty space, Kendra was very happy once the boy started to fill it with some more entertaining banter about how silly pirates could be. She smiled, and readied her own witty response. "Maybe a small town of other pirates, since they'd probably eat anything. Hairy or otherwise." She said, trying hard not to laugh at her own lame joke. She liked the idea of a more casual conversation to lighten the mood before they ran off an conquered an entire population of ne'er-do-wells, proud of herself for finding someone that was actually worth being friends with.
The weasel returned and the gang made their way out and separated as intended. Fiddling with the transceiver for a bit, she finally managed to slide it into her right ear and it seemed to fit, which felt weird but she guessed she would get used to it. Suddenly it buzzed a little bit and she heard the boy's voice as if he were leaning directly next to her ear. Cool! "Oh, wow! It's like telepathy!" She said, completely forgetting that the boy already knew what that was like. She liked this a lot, she had received mental messages from professors before but never been able to send them. This would be cool. "And you can hear me?" She asked.
This was super exciting. She could talk to her friend without being right there, she had a clear cause and purpose to do something epic, and best of all she was free to use her magic as she saw fit. For now, she paced over to the docks and try to scout for vantage points to take good shots and how many ships they were sinking exactly. It had seemed they put a lot of food on their plate, since ship sinking isn't going to be their only problem once they start. She wondered how she could handle herself around real enemies; simulations could only show you so much.

(OOC: Sorry if the posts are getting up at weird times. Freaking work keeps scheduling me night shifts -_-. I'm pretty sure that it's not legal for me to be doing them while also having day shift's on the same week, but I digress. I also think there's some age limit I'm mostly likely under, but I'm just rambling on at this point. See what happens when sane people are forced to work over night? My brains turning to mush XD.)
As the girl's voice came in through the transceiver, Wes's ear twitched violently. "That voice.... Kress?! You gave that stranger one of our freaking transceivers?" Crossing his arms, Wes looked away from the boy. "That's totally bogus. You better have not given KenKen my transceiver. She'd just get it all wet." Kress couldn't exactly say that he missed Wes, but hearing the weasel's bickering did have some sort of sense of normality to it. Besides, Wes's complaint's could at least keep his mind off of of screwing his part of the up. "Yeah KenK- Kendra. I can hear you loud and clear. Unfortunately, Wes can as well." Shooting his partner a glare, the boy began to wander off towards the cannons. Well, at least where he had remembered seeing them.
Even after the time Kress had spent in the small port, he couldn't get used to the area. Everything about the place just seemed off, especially the town layout. But then again, what could Kress really expect from a town of pirates and savages? It wasn't something Kress needed to bother himself with. As Kress spotted the cannons on the ledge above him, he cracked a slight smile. It took everything the boy had to not be smiling ear to ear, jumping up and down like a giddy school girl. He was about to be operating a cannon and actually firing at people. It was a bit of a psychotic dream come true, but a dream of Kress's none the less. Kress would only have to take a small jog before the plan could finally begin.
Reaching the top of the staircase, Kress was able to see the docks from a safer vantage point. More importantly, Kress could see the pirate ships from this ledge. The sight of seven pirate ships was a bit unsettling for Kress. He wasn't exactly sure just how many he was expecting there to be, but talking about the number of ships was much different than actually seeing them. Even if he was to exclude the captains ship, there was still six the trio would have to take down. "I can see the ship's Kendra, there's seven of them. Well, six, one of 'em is the captains ship. We're going to have take out the lesser six as fast as possible. The longer we take, the more time they have to swarm us."
Kress got into position on his cannon, analysing the situation one last time. The risk of an ambush was a factor that had to be accounted for and Kress had brought the transceivers for that reason alone. But were the transceivers enough? The pirates would most likely try to stop his or Kendra's cries for help. Such thinking led Kress to the conclusion of a codeword for help.
"If either of us gets into a pinch, use the codeword... Uh.."
"Chestnut! Chestnut means 'help.'"
"Sure.... Say chestnut if you're in trouble. I'll do the same." Despite the silliness of it, Kress felt 'chestnut' was a good word choice. It'd probably be the last thing anyone would expect 'help' to mean, which was in their favor. Taking a deep breath, Kress tightened his grip on the canon's handle. Aside from feeling a bit nervous, he was as ready as he'd ever be. "Whenever you're ready, make the first shot. Me and Wes got your back."

[OOC: You apologize for these things as if I'm paying enough attention to even notice =P I simply see that it's my turn when it comes and post accordingly! Otherwise I work on other stuff 0.o Seriously it's fine, life comes first =) ]
And of course, the first thing Kendra's sensitive ears picks up is Wes throwing a whiny little fit over her possession of a transceiver. The girl simply narrowed her eyes. What was his problem, anyway!? She couldn't stay annoyed for long as she instead defaulted to sadness, of course she wasn't accepted enough to gain any privileges. That little monster was impossible. She wondered if her friendship with Kress could really work out, as the weasel certainly cast a heavy shroud of negativity for the girl. He seemed to try his hardest to reject her presence or get her to leave rather than just outright asking.
She wouldn't get too long to dwell on the fact as the boy would perk her back up with the mere sound of his voice. His 'unfortunately' clause at the end of his statement would sullen her just a little bit anyway, as she hung her head. "Yeah, I noticed..." She said softly, not sure if the boy would be able to hear that. A second after she realized what she said, there was suddenly a desire that he didn't actually hear that and her face turned completely red as a result. The air would fall silent as she looked back up and pretended to look at the ships again, but her mind wasn't really on the task.
Another interruption of voice would cause the girl to jump and frantically look around to see if anyone noticed, but no one seemed to care. She reached behind her and unhooked her staff and held it as she walked along, actively looking at the ships with them actually in mind this time. A brief count would confirm his initial statement. "Yeah. I see them too." She said, a tad more monotone than before from being knocked out of it emotionally for a sec. It wouldn't take too much more to get her back into the game however. "Got it. Chestnut." She said, acknowledging his statement for a help command. Wait a minute...
What kind of a word for help was chestnut, anyway? This was the switch that would flip her switch to get her mind more focused. "Interesting choice but I won't judge." She said, her normal voice returning to the transceiver. Giving the ships another look... she devised a quick plan. "Alright, I'll aim for the second ship. Aim for the first, and then aim for the third, and fifth... just like that. This way, you can cover me as I take out the sixth ship and we make our way back out." She said, feeling pretty good about this idea. She would go ahead with it anyone, and once she got the okay that Kress was locked and loaded, she would lead her own procedure.
First, she twisted her staff in a bit of a circular motion and pretended to stir an invisible stew in a large invisible kettle, but with one hand. The water off the bay began to behave oddly, attracting the attention of just one onlooker which chain-reacted as they commanded more people to observe what was going on. Perfect, now that everyone's attention was diverted, she could make her mark. She formed an ice spike below the visual threshold of the water and then thrust her staff and free arm up, sending a massive ice missile at the hull of the second ship floating along the water. The hull was punctured and the ice splintered to shred the ship around where the impact hole was made. Kendra, as a final memento, pushed her arms slowly forward to command the water to flush into the new gaping hole and prioritize the sinking process. "Haha! Yes..." she said under her breath.
Her first objective is clear, and the girl ran along the dock to get into position for the next impact, once whenever the next ship was sunk by her partner. As far the pirate threat was considered, it seemed she hadn't been noticed in terms of her direct view, as she made her way over she didn't notice anyone who both looked hostile and focused on her. She even looked over her shoulder once or twice to make sure she wasn't attracting any nasties behind her, and to her knowledge, nothing stuck out. Perfect. She was getting in position to strike the fourth ship as the first and third were most likely going down.

(OOC: I figured as much, that was just me playing it safe. You'd be surprised with some of the individuals I've had the misfortune of rping with on other sites. They really would compare my posting times XD. That was basically just force of habit, so please just ignore me if I'm over apologetic friend.)
Waiting for Kendra to strike, Kress's palms were itching. He wasn't quite sure if it was the excitement of possibly firing the cannon or his worries of not being able to take out his assigned ships, but he couldn't ease himself. The boy watched his ally closely as she appeared to be taking action, causing Kress to line his sights on the first of his assigned ships one last time. The situation really was quite exhilarating. He would have never in his lifetime guessed he'd be about to fire a cannon at a pirate ship. A hostile pirate ship at that. The sound of Kendra's icicle piercing the wooden ship was enough to snap Kress out of his thoughts, even leaving the boy a bit alarmed. "What the hell are you doing elf-ears?! Shoot the damn ship!"
Under normal circumstances, Kress probably would've been a bit steamed about his weasels comment, but this time his furry companion seemed to be in the right. He really did need to stay on edge in this situation, knowing it wasn't his just his safety on the line this time. "Alright! taking aim at the first ship. Watch your back first mate Kendra!" Hearing Wes's chuckle made the boy realise what he said, leaving him read-faced. Trying his hardest to stay focused, Kress pulled the the cannon's drawstring as hard as he could. The force from the cannon was enough to knock him on his behind and was accompanied by an even more forceful boom. Kress found himself being too enticed with the sight of the sight of the cannonball slowly arching down towards the ship.
As the cannonball came down, the boy couldn't help but make a cartoon-like whistle sound effect as it crashed down onto to the ship. The cannons shot really did a lot more damage to the ship than Kress had expected, bending the wood rather violently in a 'V' sort of shape. "Hey Wes, look at that." Extending his arm out over the ledge and held out two fingers over the ship. "That ship just about make's a perfect 'v.' Maybe it's for... Victory?" Kress looked over at Wes, giving him a bit of a smirk, only to see the weasel shaking his head. "There's so much wrong with you Kressy. I'm not even gonna dignify that with a response. Just stay focused." The weasels comment's would take the smirk off of his face, but Wes was right. Well, about the focusing part anyway. Kress thought it was neat.
Placing Wes on the cannon, Kress jogged to the end of the ledge he was stationed on and grabbed another cannonball. As Wes waited for his partner to return, he decided to scan the area. Knowing how weak Kress was, the weasel figured he'd most likely have sometime to kill before Kress would be able to get the cannonball to the cannon. With the ship that Kress had shot sinking at a fast rate, there wasn't really anything that Wes would define as entertaining. Letting out a sigh and a groan, Wes fixed his attention to Kendra. He'd never say it to her face, but KenKen wasn't doing to bad for herself. Dare he say he was a bit impressed? Nah, Wes wasn't one that was easily impressed. The only that surprised him was the fact she hadn't gotten herself into trouble. That said, he only had slightly more faith in Kress than her.
Before the critter could look away from her, he saw some movement near the girl. Did she really draw attention to herself already? It seemed unlikely, even for KenKen. As Wes thought about the events prior to the girl being approached, he realised that the cannon the duo had fire most likely got the pirate's attention. "Dammit! Stupid KenKen getting seen by pirates! Kress! We need t-." Looking back at his partner, Wes could see that Kress was still struggling with the cannonball and wouldn't be much use. Even if Kress dropped everything to cover Kendra, the cannon would remain un-loaded. Wes gritted his teeth and let out a sigh, feeling a state of utter disbelief. Wes hopped off of the cannon and trotted over to his partner, his teeth still gritted. He began to climb up Kress, reaching up to his shoulder and placing his ear on the transciever.
"Let's not make this any more awkward than it has to be, KenKen. I'm doing this mostly out of pity anyhow. There are some pirates sneaking up on you to your left. I couldn't see how many, but if you need back up.... I'm... Dammit! I'll be ready!" Wes slid down Kress's body, grabbing one of his energy pistols on his way down.
"Wes? What're yo-."
"Believe me elf-ears, if we could switch posts, I would in a heartbeat. I just highly doubt I can lift those things. Not that you can, scrawny arms."
The weasel placed the pistol in his mouth as he trotted down the stairs, racing towards his 'friend.'

Just as she was passing the third ship, another quick peripheral check would raise a red flag for the water-endowed woman. This bit of a peek was immediately complimented with a strange transceiver message, from Wes himself! How kind of him. It her smile that he was at least selfless enough to look out for her, even if she managed to catch this sight (just barely) on her own hand. She was quite observant and keen on the senses. Not to mention, despite having the social skills of a brick, she was an intelligent tactician and had excellent control of her own magic.
She didn't need to knock out the pirates in order to take out ships, and knocking them out would take effort and magical energy. Using too much magic was always exhausting after all, therefore the less expensive disable strategy would be optimal. To which, she knew just the trick since the pirates were rather throttled for this approach she could just pour rain on them and freeze them. Slowing her steps for balance, she turned toward the direction the pirates were coming from.
A full vertical twirl of her staff, as she continued to move, and a large black storm cloud formed over where they poured out from. Anyone who passed under this cloud would get absolutely soaked from how hard the dense, unrelenting, and centralized storm cloud rained upon them. This didn't have any immediate effects in terms of damage or anything, but now that they were all wet they were in for a treat. Looking back occasionally as she kept running, she had to make sure every single one of the pirates would get affected.
Confirming this aforementioned situation, she turned and stopped for only a moment, raising her staff and saying "Permafrost!", a distinct blasting sound rang as the pirates crystallized. A couple fell over, but most of them just continued to trudge as if they were marching through quicksand. They were far too frozen to move fast any time soon, but the effect wouldn't last forever thus she turned again and began moving once more to the next objective. However, she had some more company. Great.
Two pirates came down the outer dock directly head-on to cut her off. A quick assessment determined they were unarmed, probably just goons who were goofing off not quite expecting an entire take-over. Being unarmed would be their downfall. Kendra leapt into the air into a quick front flip to land on a spray of water that carried her along like a miniature surf. She picked up some speed and held out her staff horizontally with both hands, now rapidly approaching the two goons. They had horrified looks on their ugly faces as they realized what was going to happen next, too frozen by fear to even react.
They were swept off their face as Kendra sideswiped the two of them by surfing through the middle, clocking them both right in the face (as if their teeth weren't already bad enough). Her surf slowed and she caught herself with a quick strut to slow herself down, turned and looked at her most recent accomplishment to smile, only to run once more toward her object to which she only lacked about forty more paces until she was in front of the fourth ship.
In order to escape the thought of interacting with people while engaging this fiends, she pictured them more as monsters than as humans - and it worked. It was a little trick her mentor taught her, when fighting people, picture them as not people. It definitely worked. And of course, the little buggers may as well be monsters at this point. Though Kendra kept focus as there was a job to do. She might as well ask if she was out of danger first before assuming she's completely taken care of things on her end. "Am I clear now, Wes?" She asked, specifically addressing the one who addressed her without even thinking about the possible repercussions (or the fact that the Weasel was nowhere near the transceiver anymore).

Wes sprinted around corner, panting like he had just ran a marathon. The weasel hadn't even ran that far, but Wes wasn't someone that could be called 'active.' Most of the time, he was either perched on Kress's shoulder or standing beside Kress. Either way, it never required much movement from the little guy himself. When Wes was finally able to see Kendra, he was a bit disheartened. The girl seemed to be handling herself quite well, meaning he had wasted the energy racing down towards her from the ledge above. Watching his forced-ally fight, he was a bit surprised how she used her water based abilities, but simply shrugged it off. As she finished off the last of the pirates, Wes figured KenKen at least deserved to know if she was clear or not. Taking the pistol out of his mouth, he began to speak. "Yeah, you're clear KenKen. Took a little longer than I would have, but you got got them none the less. Stay outta trouble, 'buddy.'" The weasel said in a slightly sarcastic tone. Taking a deep breath, Wes began to jog back towards Kress, biting down on the gun handle once more.
Back with Kress, the boy had finally managed to load the cannon. The task really shouldn't have taken as long as it did, but the only one to blame for that was Kress. He hadn't really thought of the physical strength it was going to take to load the cannon when he was planning it, but there was no backing out of it now. Aiming his sights at the third ship, as the plan Kendra had made called for, he gripped the drawstring. Before proceeding, it had occurred to the boy that he had never even checked up on either of his teammates. Pretty inconsiderate of him. "Kendra? Wes? Everything cool down ther-." Kress wasn't even able to finish his sentence before his sidekick came dashing up the stairs, yammering on with a shortage of breath. "She's fine, okay? Me and KenKen are great, peachy even. Just fire the Damn cannon before either of us attract more attention!"
A look of shock and uneasiness appeared on Kress's face. In all the years the boy had known his partner, he had never seen Wes do anything that wasn't self-centered. The weasel had rarely even tried to keep Kress out of trouble, someone Wes considered to be his best friend, and here he was going out of his way to help Kendra. Or 'KenKen,' as he called her. Did Wes... Actually like Kendra? The thought of Wes liking anyone was a joke on it's own, but it seemed to be a logical assumption. Never the less, Wes was once again in the right, making this day one of the strangest in Kress's life. Pulling back the drawstring, Kress was once again blown back on his behind, Watching again as the cannonball came flying down towards the pirate ship. This shot didn't seem to be as nicely placed as the last, as it it was only able to hit the left side of the ship.
The shot wasn't exactly where Kress wanted it to land, but it seemed to at least do the trick. The cannonball managed to open a pretty large hole on the ship, it just wouldn't sink it as fast as the first ship did. The only thing that bothered him about the slowly sink ship is that it gave the the pirates more time to attack either him or Kendra. But at the same time, a fast sinking ship didn't seem to slow them down earlier, so Kress didn't have as much guilt about his misplaced shot. "Uh... Third ship is kinda down. I mean it's sinking, just kinda at a grampa's pace. Sorry..." Lowering his head, Wes rubbed his temples. "Ugh. Great job Kress. Load the freaking thing up and let's just take out the fifth ship." Kress nodded in agreement, turning back to load the cannon. As the boy bent down to grab a cannonball, he could hear footsteps heading towards him from the ground below. Perfect.
Kress began to carry the cannonball to the cannon as fast as he possibly could, hearing the footsteps get closer every second. As the pirates were climbing up the stairs, he plopped the ball into the cannon, adjusting it's sights to the fifth ship. "C'mon Kress! shoot it now! We don't have time for you to try to be precise, man." Kress could hear the pirates getting closer and knew he'd have little to no time to take a shot, but decided on a different approach. Kress cracked a bit of a demented smile and turned the cannon towards the stairs, motioning Wes to get out of the line of fire. "You're a mad man Kress.... And I'm kind of into it. Blast these suckers to the moon buddy-boy!" The first pirate reached the of the staircase and began to frantically motion for the other's to turn back, but it was too late. Letting out a strange giggle, Kress pulled the drawstring of the cannon, sending the cannon ball hurtling towards the group of four pirates.
The boy covered his eyes and place a hand over his weasel's, much to the critter's dismay. Although he couldn't see anything, he was able to her a few painful shrieks, followed the sound of bricks crumbling. Opening one eye and removing his hand from Wes's face, Kress looked at Wes and the duo shared a good laugh. "Gods, that sounded brutal as hell. You mind checking how many cannon balls we got, Wes?" Wes grumbled as walked over to the cannonball pile. Well, at least where they used to be. "Um, We don't have any left. Nada, zilch, zero! Way to waste our last one elf-ears." Hearing the response his partner had, Kress could tell the moment of fun he had just had with the weasel was already over. More importantly, it made him realise they were in fact out of cannonballs.
Kress had to think and he had to think fast. There was no way he could let the plan fail due to problems on his end. Especially a problem where Wes wasn't the cause. Placing his hands on the back on his hips, Kress began to analyse the situation. He thought of everything he and Wes could possibly do, finding that he had nothing that could replicate a cannonballs properties. He was almost at his limit, until he heard his weasel once again give him an unintended idea. "What? You got nothing, do you? Perfect! Juuust typical. You're always so smart when no one needs ya to be, but when anyone needs you to be, your as dumb a sack of potatoes. I am so angry, I really feel like I could burst into flames. Stupid stinky litt-." Wasting no time, Kress picked up Wes and shoved him into the cannon.
"Wes, give me some fire, right now!"
"Are you freaking kidding me? There's no way in hell I-."
"Just do it!"
Within a matter of seconds, Kress could see smoke coming out of the cannons nozzle. As much as he wanted to thank Wes for being cooperative, he figured Wes wouldn't even want to hear it in the position he was in. Aiming the cannon for the fifth ship once more, Kress placed his hand on the drawstring and pulled on it for the final time. He couldn't say he felt entirely good with himself as he watched his long-time partner soaring through the sky in a blaze, but it was at least a pretty view. Well, if he ignored Wes's shrieking in the air, it was. He watched as his friend made contact with the ship, as Wes pierced through the wood and set the ship on fire. In a way, Wes actually may have worked better than a cannonball, just with more guilt after being fired. Kress began to sprint down the stairs, in an attempt to retrieve his weasel and also met up with Kendra.

Impact! The third ship began sinking and there was a bit of chatter on the transceiver, but nothing struck the mage's ears as anything to worry about quite yet. Her mind was focused, as she needed to move quick before she was spotted again. There were good chances that someone would be aware of the current carnage going on, the ships sinking and the unconscious or frozen bodies were bound to draw far more attention... eventually. For now, she silently waved her staff forming another ice missile within the water, which allows her to make it slightly bigger than if she formed it in the air, and threw her arms into the air to pierce yet another haul.
While typically one could use the phrase 'that ship has sailed' for the completion of a task that would be wrong in more ways than one if referred to accomplishment Kendra just achieved. It was far on the opposite spectrum of sailing actually, and never would that ship sail again! The girl pumped her free arm and cheered to herself for a job well done. It was only at this point that she remembered what Kress said and thought it would be appropriate to address it. "Considering how I highly doubt they'll have any chance at all to fix it... how slow it sinks isn't so much an issue." she said, smiling. Time to move on.
Though the girl spoke just as there was an eerie silence before Wes started his rant after they ran out of cannonballs, which Kendra did not actually hear. "...Kress? Something the matter up there?" She asked. Almost in position for ship six, there was some more chatter and then another explosion from the cannon firing, and then some sort of... noise? Just as she was approaching the last ship to hit, a flaming mass passed overhead with the noise getting louder, with it being more appropriate described as a screaming. "...Wes?" She asked, the pitch of the scream seeming vaguely familiar especially since cannonballs usually aren't upset about being fired. Maybe she was imagining things.
Looking back to the objective, she couldn't help but notice another blockade of pirates, one of them holding a pistol. Uh oh. Seems they were going to have another complication and just when they were going to finish too. Little did she know, Kress was already on his way down as well despite their original plan of him covering her from above for the final ship. "Hey, I have a little trouble here... I can probably handle it but just be aware." She said over the communication device. By her count... there were five enemies. Not too bad.
Knowing minimally about guns, she only assumed that the one with the pistol was deadly and dangerous - what she wouldn't know is the flintlock variant was only capable of one shot before having to be vigorously reloaded, making it extremely inefficient to what she's been taught. She knew what reloading looked like, and devised a plan to draw shots until she saw that process knowing they would be vulnerable. She locked eyes and held her staff vigilantly.
A trigger squeeze and a familiar explosion, then a staff raise and a strong magical current of water. "Wonderwall!" she yelled as the defensive barrier of water went up. The bullet hit the current to which it was thrown high into the air from the wall's strong push. She waited diligently for additional shots and to wait to see him visually reload. They just stood there however, in an awkward stare, wondering what exactly happened. Maybe they were smarter than she thought?

(OOC: And I live again! *insert gargoyles music here.* No but seriously, sorry about that. Working in retail during the holiday season is BRUTAL on my free time. Especially when you sell electronics -_-. Don't even get me started on having to working thanksgiving night for black Friday. It's not even Friday, that shift is like grey Thursday or something. Anyway, I should be back on my normal posting schedule now.)
As Kress raced towards his allies, the only thought that kept popping up in his head was how angry his weasel was going to be with him. Sure, Kress had done some things that have aggravated his furry friend, but nothing as dastardly as shooting him out of a cannon. He could already hear Wes's nagging in his head, it was almost enough to make Kress not even want to retrieve his partner. On top of all of his weasel-related worries, the boy had just received word his other partner was being attacked by pirates once more. It was at this point that Kress realized that the pirates considered Kendra more of a threat than he was. A rather smart conclusion, leaving Kress actually a bit impressed. He hadn't foreseen the pirates actually fighting back with strategy, but now wasn't the time to commend the enemy.
After a bit of a jog, The winded-out boy was actually able to see his friend a little further down the dock. Kress almost held up his arm, as if to wave, but quickly yanked it down and threw himself behind a pile of crates. Although he did want to wave, the boy assumed it'd be better if he helped her get rid of the pirates before waving hello and exposing his position to the enemy. Staying behind his shoddy cover, Kress took a peek at just what Kendra was dealing with here. He hadn't expected to see as many as he did, even if it wasn't a huge amount. He couldn't help but feel a bit sour. Five pirates against one person? Hows that fair? Granted, pirates weren't exactly known for being fair, it just seemed a little cowardly. Upon closer examination, he was able to spot one of the brutes holding a pistol towards Kendra. An odd looking pistol at that.
As much as he wanted to examine the pistol a little longer, seeing a gun pointed at his friend made him really want to get going. Grabbing hold of one of his energy pistols, Kress lined a shot straight for the gun-wielding pirates torso. "That's right, just stay still buddy." Shedding a bit of a sinister smirk, the boy pulled the trigger, only to hear a loud and equally disappointing 'click.' How could he had been so stupid?! Kress had been so caught up in trying to back up Kendra, the idiot had forgotten to retrieve his weasel. Unfortunately for Kress, it appeared he wouldn't have time to do so either. Before Kress returned back to his cover, he saw the last ship appear to be... Moving? It couldn't be. With another peak, he was able to confirm what was happening.
"Retreating?! Dammit! Where's Wes when you need him?" Kress gripped the sides of his hat, tugging it down over his ears. He knew that he had to do something, but what? Without Wes, his options were quite limited. The only choice Kress really had was to charge in with brute force, but then he would just be an easy target for the gun wielder (oblivious to the fact it was already unloaded.) Unable to sit around and do nothing any longer, Kress leaped out from behind the crates and unsheathed his sword. Without a second thought, the boy charged towards the pirates, still holding one of his pistols.
Before the gun wielding pirate could even look towards Kress's direction, he was hit right between the eyes with Kress's energy pistol, causing him to drop his own gun. Skidding to a stop at Kendra's side, Kress brushed the dropped flintlock away from the pirate and into the water. "Kendra! Your ship is leaving without you pal. I'll handle these goons, you just focus on sinking that ship. You can help me out with the clean up later." Kress gave his friend a smile, motioning her to move forward. His reassuring words aside, he deeply hoped he'd be able to fend off the pirates without any of his elemental abilities.
Pointing his sword towards the pirates, Kress tapped the ground with his blade, gaining the attention of his foes. Just as Kress had hoped, the five pirates that were once crowding Kendra were now focusing on the him. Perhaps it worked a little too well. Not only did Kress get the attention of his enemies, he also got a few instant swings towards him. The boy jumped back, landing flat on his back, successfully dodging his attackers. Still on the ground, Kress kicked the shin of one of the pirates, causing the pirate to fall face first on the ground. Fortunately for Kress, the fallen pirate fell right in the way of a downwards swing from another pirate, finishing him off. Kress quickly stood up, looking at the four remaining pirates with a bit of a frown. "One down... Four to go... Gods that took way too much effort." Gripping his sword handle, Kress braced himself for the next attack.

"Kress!" She exclaimed. She had never been so happy to see him but at the same time he feared for his safety, since that one pirate had a gun! Except... that wasn't a problem anymore, since that pirate got smacked right in the face causing him to drop his weapon and fall over. Gosh, that looked like it hurt! Well, without any projectile weapons to worry about, the rest of this fight would be easy; she had magic and they didn't. Well, Kress was there too, but.. wait!?
There was one distinct lack of noise now that Kress was here. "...Where's Wes?" She asked hesitantly. Truly he wasn't the screaming ball of fire that whizzed by her not too long ago? Well, apparently she wouldn't have time to hear an explanation anyway as the boy pointed out that their last mark was leaving. Not on her watch! ...But wait again! "Will you be fine without, you know, your magic?" She asked, distinctly remembered that the two of them needed to be together to cast spells. He had a sword in his hand, so it seemed... he would be fine? She couldn't dawdle. "Sorry! uh, just hold 'em off for a sec, I got a plan..." She said.
Indeed Kress was not the only genius here, as Kendra was rather intelligent by her own bounds too. Being scared of people didn't prevent her from being quick on her feet, figuring out solutions to problems just as fast. It seemed with both of them combined, as long as there was a certain Weasel involved at least, they were unstoppable! Well, almost. Kendra had to get to that ship! As Kress stood at her front dealing with the ugly mugs, she raised her staff into the air along with her other arm and made very wide circles twirling her staff and rotated her wrist with her free arm. The currents in the water beside them began to stir, until Kendra made a large pushing motion.
There was not a streamlined rapid running along the water thanks to her ebbing techniques, heading straight in a straight line to intersect the ships path. "Be back in a jiff!" she said, stepping back then getting a running start before leaping off the walkway and into the ocean, landing gracefully and picked up a massive boost of speed as she used her surfing technique to staff above the water, with the artificial rapids she created increasing her speed by an incredible amount. She took off like a Jet ski.
Moving across the water at this speed wasn't the easiest, she had to focus her surf rather intensely to keep above water since gliding along a solid surface was super easy but this time she had to keep the water skipping like a flat stone but much faster. Not only that, she still had to remain upright, holding on tight to her staff horizontally with both hands as a balance pole. However, not long into her journey she noticed a little fur ball trotting along making a bit of a splash in the water. Was that... Wes? So he really was that little ball of fire! Well, Kendra to the rescue! How fortunate for the little guy~
She only had to swerve a slight distance to scoop him up, but Wes would suddenly see Kendra speeding toward him and be caressed into an outstretched him as she flung him up and threw him onto her shoulder and swerved back into the course. "Hang on tight, This ship's going down and then we have to get back to shore!" she said, planning her trajectories. She was in range to fire but needed a return path first. Similarly to when she created the first rapid, Kendra swung her staff in circles and spun her other hand the other way, and the currents shifted again only at the end of her current rapid another rapid formed at a sharp angle back to shore. It was still quite far ahead, far enough that Kendra could form an ice missile under the water and fling it at the escape ship and preemptively end it's long voyage. Success!
And now for the fun part. Somehow, going at tremendous speeds Kendra had to make a hairpin turn to flow from one artificial rapid to the next while not losing balance or anything. This is where her ebbing ability could get really creative and cool, since she had this planned out from the start. Of course, there was one calculation she didn't account for at the start she'd have to factor in, and that was an easy variable in the equation. "Remember when I said hang on tight? You might want to really make sure you won't fall for this next part!" She said.
Waving her staff left and then arcing it up over her head, a jet of water slid out from the ocean and made a bit of a semicircle. Lowering her center of gravity, Kendra bent down low as they approached this strange ramp of water. Just as she slid up the stream, she shouted in joy as her and Wes were flipped upside down by this ordeal, but a simple tuck and roll mid-air would right them again, orienting them properly before smacking into the new rapid and surfing across, down back toward the docks. She held her staff horizontally once again to help balance. She would be back soon, and if there were still pirates around Kress, she would attempt to help with a few water missile casts and of course Wes would be there now. Otherwise, it was a simple regroup and they could make their way toward the main target.

The soaked weasel wasn't quite sure how he felt seeing his 'friend' Kendra speeding towards him. On the positive side of things, Wes wouldn't have to tread water any longer, but was that really any better than being saved by Kendra? With how idiotic Wes could be, he'd most likely rather stay stranded in the water. Much to his disliking, Kendra took matters into her own hands, scooping him up and throwing him on her shoulder in one swift movement. If Wes wasn't so flustered about being on another persons shoulder, he may of actually been slightly impressed by the coordination it must have took on Kendra's side. Of course, the only thing the weasel could do was listen to Kendra and hang on, as painful as it was for him. The poor weasel hung on for dear life as the girl maneuvered through the water, finally loosening his grip once landed from her stylish flip.
Turning towards the girl, Wes let out a bit of a grumble. "KenKen, you're lucky that I'm so angry at Kress right now, otherwise I would be giving you SUCH an ear-full." The weasel turn away from the girl, sighing a bit. "Although your shoulder is uncomfortable and your not exactly the most leisurely boat, I suppose I owe you a thank you... So y'know, Thank yourself for me." Readjusting himself on Kendra's uncomfortable shoulder, Wes leaned forward, feeling a bit anxious to get back to the docks. He wasn't sure if he was more excited to get back on solid ground or to yell at his partner. Maybe it was a bit of both.
Back with Kress, his fight with the pirate was still on going. The four pirates left seemed to be trying a new strategy this time around. Instead of the brute force they were initially using against the out numbered boy, they were now timing their blows, hoping to catch Kress off guard with one good hit. Poor Kress had been forced to play defensive in this battle for quite sometime and the fatigue was starting to get to him. Just as Kress was sure his foes would get the best of him, the pirate nearest to him was showing an opening in his swings. With the brutes next swing, Kress parried it, making an upwards diagonal slash on the pirates torso. As the foe fell, the sound of the pirates sword being dropped onto the ground was music to the boy's ears. It may have only been of the four pirates, but Kress was at severe disadvantage. Not only in sheer numbers, but also in the fact he could not use any of the magic he was accustomed to.
Upon seeing another ally fall, the pirates seemed to be changing their strategy once again. Now it seemed the pirates were trying surround Kress, rather than simply trying to break his guard like before. Kress was once again impressed with how organized his enemies seemed to be. Though, he didn't have much time to gawk at their intelligence levels, the jerks were closing in on him. As the three remaining pirates positioned themselves around him, the boy simply looked behind the pirate directly in front of him, seeing a rusty gutter pipe attached to a run-down shack. Kress aimed his his grappling hook wristband at the pipe, not wasting a second. Launching it straight into the pipe, Kress was rewarded with rather loud 'cling' sound, causing him to smirk a bit. It was a hit! there was hope for the boy yet, but now it was time for the hard part.
Performing a quick turn towards the two pirates behind him, Kress tugged on the pipe hard while blocking the two pirates attacks. Before the third pirate could get a swing in, he was drilled by the pipe in the back of the head, knocking him unconscious. He couldn't help but smile. Not only did the boy take out another pirate, the pipe was still stuck on the grappling hook, making a make-shift weapon for Kress. Even better, the new weapon seemed to have some range on it, making it a lot safer to use than the sword. Well, at least when he was facing multiple pirates. Before one of the two remaining pirates could even comprehend what had just happened, Kress swung the grappling pipe at the pirates feet, knocking the foe flat on his back.
Kress took a downward strike at the fallen pirate, leaving only one of the menaces left. If he was feeling tired back when he was simply blocking attacks, Kress was now feeling exhausted. For his last couple of attacks, the boy was running on pure adrenaline and even that was running out. Kress couldn't even attempt to throw an attack before the final pirate began to swing rapidly at him. All he could do was block, falling down on one knee. He was fairly certain he could at least last until one of his partners would be able to assist him. As fate would have it, he was slightly right.
Hearing the sound of rushing water, Kress's attention turned out towards the sea. Seeing Kendra on her way back was a sight for sore eyes, allowing Kress to let out a huge sigh of relief. But it seemed it wasn't just Kendra, she had a brown smudge-like object on her shoulder. Could it be?! He couldn't imagine Wes being on anyone else's shoulder, but what else could it be? He could only assume it was his furry partner, which only added to his relief.

[OOC: Ech. Dropped the ball on this one. I have no excuses ^_^; Sorry about that. I'll try to be more responsible in the future.]
That poor weasel... Kendra may be socially inept, but she started to get a clue about this particular sentient being in particular. He was often a harsh critic, exaggerated with brutal honesty and often bashed as much pride as he could whenever he felt like it, but it was because he cared in his own weird way. At first she was really intimidated by him, and believed that he didn't like her and would convince Kress to abandon her the first chance he got. That's why she didn't like to get involved with people in the first place, part of what made her afraid, is that people were so mean. Even though Wes wasn't a 'person', he definitely counted the way he spoke. But...
Maybe this one she could make an exception. For some reason, his excuse about being so angry at Kress... It seemed an excuse for the sake of one. Of course, just figuring out one particular weasel wouldn't cure her of her social ineptness, but this was definitely a step in the right direction. She impulsively wanted to thank him for not being so mean this time, but ended up feeling too scared to make such a bold statement. She just grunted her face, feeling disappointed in herself for being unable to speak. Oh well. Another time maybe...
As they returned, Kendra quickly assessed the situation - Kress seemed to handle things wonderfully but was still struggling with one last visible enemy. Well, it was about time to turn the tides. "Wes, when I jump you jump! You'll make it back to Kress that way!" She called out to the Weasel. As they rapidly approached shore, she hunched over a bit as she prepared to leap up. Sure enough, the water suddenly ramped upwards and with the extra angle along with some spring in the girl's knees, they were launched up pretty high. She yelled out, waving her staff back and forth twice, shooting too minor bolts to make her opponent stagger before pointing the staff forward and ramming the pirate rather strongly with all the force from gravity raining down. With that... he was out!
With a tumble once she hi the ground, Kendra sprung right back to her feet and straightened herself out, sighing. "Whew... what a ride." she said. She looked over at her friend, a bit embarrassed at first, but eventually smiled and lowered her eyes while her cheeks turned red. She scratched the back of her head with her free hand to distract herself. "Well, uh... Um..." She said, a bit unable to speak at first. All that was on her mind was being unable to address Wes. It was hopeless. Hopefully the boy would knock some sense into her with whatever he managed to reply with.

(OOC: Not a problem, I've been battling a flu over the past week now so I probably would have been late myself. Besides, I don't think you really need a valid excuse lol. I used a freaking Sonic game as a excuse once. Just post when it's convenient for you .) What a relieving sight. As Kress was on one knee, feeling as if he was about to pass out, he saw a rather impressive feat from his water-controlling partner. In one swift maneuver Kendra was able to leap out of the water and knock out the remaining pirate from his battle. She didn't exactly stick the landing, but Kress was just too happy that he could finally sheath his sword to nitpick. Adding to the girls assist, she was also able to fetch Wes for the boy. Although, Kress wasn't really sure if that was a good thing or not at this point. On a positive note, he was happy to see that she and Wes appeared to tolerate each other, but he was sure Wes would deny it. Before Kress could even attempt to say a word to Kendra, he felt a bit of pressure on his left shoulder. Kress didn't have to even look to know what had landed on his shoulder, nor did he really want to. All he could do was wince as he prepared himself for the onslaught that was about to attack his ears. "You...You dunder-headed-stinky-ass-wizzletit! I should bite your freaking ear off and stick it up your a-." Looking down at the last pirates body, Wes only got even angrier. "Oh, look at this. You couldn't even beat five pirates on your own. Man, you suck. I should be on KenKen's shoulder." Hearing every thing his partner had to say, Kress simply cracked a smile and shook his head. In his own way, Wes had basically said 'I'm glad you're safe and how could even think about fight those pirates on your own.' Looking back at Kendra, Kress gave her a nod. "You might want to rethink that Wes. Kendra here has working ears, I'm sure she'd have the sense to get rid of in an instant." In a weird way, The duo's insulting of each other felt like their own kind of warm-hearted reunion, leaving both of them with a smile on their face. Placing a hand on Kendra's shoulder, Kress gave his friend a thumbs up. "Thanks for the save Kendra. I owe you an apple or two." For the first time, Kress really did feel like the three-way friendship between Wes, Kendra and himself could work. He always knew that He and Kendra could be friends, but Kendra and Wes? Not so much. But Kress didn't have time to keep thinking about his friends getting along, they still had to deal with the captain. As his thoughts moved to the subject of the captain, he found it odd that his ship was still in the docks. After witnessing his entire crew and their ships get shut down, Kress could only expect the captain to retreat or at the very least get out of range of his attackers. Suspicious indeed. The captain had to have been planning something, leaving a heavy feeling in Kress's gut. There were no visible weapons or crew. Could he of possibly abandoned ship? Kress wouldn't get his hopes up. "Hey Kendra, what do you make of this?" He said, pointing towards the ship. He figured she may have saw something while she was skiing across the waters surface. Even if she didn't, he was sure she'd at least be able to add some insight, definitely more than Wes ever could. The whole situation was very unsettling. Any ideas Kress had been planning to use now all had a layer of uncertainty with them. Of course, Kress would never be able to think straight with his pestering weasel on his shoulder and sure enough, Wes used his innate talent. The annoying voice of Wes broke through the boys thoughts like a baseball through a window. Kress obliviously knew it was coming and was ready to respond to the weasels whine. "Why the butts did you ask her and not me? Jerk.""Because I wanted actual input, my good sir."

Without the slightest clue of what was going to happen next once she spoke, Kendra realized she shouldn't have been the least bit surprised and in fact should've completely expected what broke the silence. Wes went nuts all over Kress giving him quite the earful all while threatening to even rip off said ears. Despite this ordeal being the expectable one she still raised her free hand to cover her mouth in stare in shock. It wasn't so much the majority of the insults, those may have caused bit of a crooked eyebrow, but Wes claimed he should be sitting on her shoulder instead!?
"Ehhhh!?" She gasped in surprise from behind her hand. After all the verbal abuse that Wes spit out in a merciless onslaught, the only thing he had to say was a witty remark on how he knew that wasn't true. The girl didn't know whether to laugh or cry hysterically at this point, though her indecisiveness was interrupted by a hand gently landing on her shoulder which snapped her out of her short trance. An apple or two!? That sounded... Delicious! She blushed at the sound of being rewarded for something so simple to her, lowing her hand and scrunching her limbs together.
Well, she would just have to take him up on her offer at some point! "I, uh... um, thanks! I would... love that, really! It's, uh, no big deal!" She said. Oh gosh, that was embarrassing! She had been able to speak to him just fine earlier, what the heck was her problem now? Why was her vocal box locking up now? The wonders of socializing... Kendra would never be able to fully realize how this system worked. IT would be beyond her for all of her days, for as long as she lived. How she became comfortable with Kress and even to a slight degree Wes (though that was going to need a lot more work still) was beyond her, but if she had made this much progress... what was going on now?
Another trance broken up by the young man's inquiry of the captain's ship, asking her what she made of the situation. "Um..." She began, signaling her thought process was starting but she wouldn't get too far before the weasel interrupted due to his lack of screen time. But that comeback... Kendra had to admit, that was pretty slick. She giggled slightly, realized what she did and slammed her hand on her mouth again. Only for a second though, there was a question she had to answer here!
"Eh, sorry... I don't uh... never mind. As for the ship... I'm not sure. It's impossible that they didn't notice what's been going on... Wanna just go and drown everyone out?" The girl said, smiling. Of course, she didn't mean to kill anyone though. "...I'm being dramatic, of course" She said, adding a bit of nervous laughter at the end and scratching the back of her head, a bit embarrassed by her remark of exaggeration. Gosh, she was just a handful today. She hoped the boy wouldn't get too weirded out!

Kress couldn't quite wrap his head around his new friend. He could easily relate to her, he also had the social skills of a wet noodle, but even he didn't regress after making enough progress to form a sentence. It definitely was a bit off. He could only assume her time with Wes alone must have had an affect on her. Time alone with that little rascal could make anyone have a bit of trouble speaking. The poor boy it all too well. Kress couldn't help but smile as he watched how animated the girl was. She was like a cartoon character, clapping her hand over her mouth when she made noises and turning a bright red when embarrassed. It definitely added to her charm. All Speculation aside, Kendra was eventually able to open her mouth and spurt something out, even if it was a simple joke.
Hearing Kendra's comment, Wes initially nodded his head in agreement, followed by a scowl and a grunt. "What?! Why would you take that idea back? That was a good plan. Bury them under the sea. Y'know, like their treasure." Any laugh Kress would have spent on Kendra's comment was now being over shadowed by the sheer amount of annoyance Wes had caused. Slapping his hand on his forehead and keeping it there, Kress sighed and shook his head. "Wes, how many times do I have to tell you? If we kill them we're no better than they are. We'll have to think of a plan that will just keep them out of business." Even though Kress shot him down, he did have to admit that plan seemed like a lot less hassle. But Being a hero, Kress had to take the high road and think up another plan that didn't involve killing the captain with his ship.
Placing his hands on the back of his head, Kress began to conduct a plan. As various thoughts filled his head, the plausible theory about the ship and it's captain was one he really didn't like. "Like you said Kendra, There's no one that the glutton of a captain didn't hear all the ruckus going on out here. The only conclusion that I can come to is that they beat us to the punch. I think he and his crew are in his ship, equipped with the better equipment and waiting for us to come aboard." The stood there, feeling a bit irritated. Even after all the planning and preparation he and Kendra went through, the pirates still seemed to have a bit of an upper hand. Sinking the ship would mean losing all the rare cargo that was in the captains chambers, but taking on the pirates with all there better gear would also be a dangerous task. It was quite the conundrum.
"Well... I have one idea... It's pretty crappy, but it might just work." Crouching down on one knee, Kress pulled the piece of paper he scribbled on earlier out of his pocket and began to scribble a new plan. "See that blue dot?" He said, pointing to a blue dot that was on the paper towards the back of the ship. ""That's you. The yellow dot is me and Wes. Okay, here's what I got so far. Wes and I charge in through the front, making sure we attract the attention of the pirates and lure them out of their positions. While all this is going on, you sneak up to the back of the ship, setting the ship towards the docks. We get the ship back to the docks, anchor it, then find a way to deal with the remaining pirates." Taking a deep breath, Kress stood back up and rested his hands on his hips.
He knew it wasn't the best plan, or even a good one, but he thought it wasn't that bad considering how fast he thought of it. Of course, the boy would never dare begin to act on a plan without some form of consent from his partners (at least one of them anyway.) Taking a look back at Kendra, Kress readjusted his goggles. "Anyone got anything to add? Questions? Concerns?" Seeing Wes's hand lift up, Kress lowered his eyes and shook his head. He could only give the weasel a nod, not wanting to waste the energy to ask him what his problem with the plan was. "Why are you and me the yellow dot? I don't even wear yellow! Only you do. Can't I get my own dot? Or at least put a smaller brown dot on the yellow dot. Is tha-." feeling a hand cover his mouth, Wes was silenced. "I meant any real questions, Wes. That was more of a nitpick or gripe than a question."

Remaining silent for most of the ordeal, Kendra couldn't bring herself to speak until she was one hundred percent certain the boy was done talking and she didn't feel like she would be interrupting him at all. She nodded at times to show her being able to grasp a basic understanding of what he was saying, fully absorbing the points he was making with a plan he made on the fly. It wasn't bad, really, and once everything was laid out she had an idea.
She went to speak, but it seemed the weasel had a few lame remarks to make basically complaining about nonessential details. Kendra frowned, while slightly annoyed she couldn't stay made due to how well Kress handled his partner. She appreciated his bravery to legitimately shut him up. The girl cleared her throat to begin voicing her opinion. "Well... I haven't exactly seen you two fight too much yet... but I think it would be better if we switched positions. My spells have a lot of wide-spread effects, so I could deal with groups pretty easily, plus you have an agile partner to check corners and help move around better for the whole 'sneaking' part..." She said. Oh gosh, hopefully she didn't insult him or anything!
"I mean, uh, well. I'm not saying you can't fight or anything, I just think it would... make more sense? I don't know." She continued, continuing her train wreck of bad assumptions. When will it end! Not yet apparently, as the girl continued to run her mouth nervously. "You can just uh... signal me when you find the controls... and I can manipulate the water from the upper deck whenever... and stuff..." she said, looking down. Hopefully that would be everything, and hopefully she wouldn't get laughed at or hated. That, of or Wes runs his mouth some more that Kress would be eager to shut him up before he verbally scarred the timid girl even more.
