It was like someone had taken a bucket of white paint and threw it up at the ceiling; clouds splattered here and there across the endless blue sky. But if one stared up at the sky long enough, they would see a thin line of white link clouds together, sometimes the line fading until it ran into another cloud and trailed the white ink after it again. Something was flying up there. It was evident the ways the cloud seemed to darken just a little as the flyer passed through before lightening again. Like someone was subtly influencing the potential of rain in each cloud with their mere presence.
After a while, the line in the clouds ended as an almost silvery black dot started to come into view. A bird, perhaps, but with such big wings and a long tail, it couldn't possibly be. People in the land of dragons would hardly notice the winged speck as it flew overhead silently and towards the mountains, slowly descending until the creature, a man it appeared except for wings, a bulb-ended tail, silvery skin with black markings, and animal like legs landed in the forest, aiming for some peace and to find more items of value to add to his horde.
In the minutes after landing, the man was still, his pale teal eyes closed as he took in deep breaths before his wings slowly sheathed themselves into his back. It was painful and there was the so often crackle of bone and muscle and tendon before everything was back in place. Sighing, he started walking. At first peaceful and quiet, the scenery of bamboo and elegant trees was everything he needed to relax in. His shoulders rolled, neck jerking in such a way, and his skin shuddered before silver scales morphed to human toned skin, his tail disappeared, and his legs morphed to something human. Tugging on his jacket, he kept moving, the now human like man, aside from pointed ears and eyes with slitted pupils, towards an area where he could hear people.

"Neat trick."
The harsh-sounding voice might stop the man in his tracks, before someone else walked out of the woods. He wore a white robe with strange patterns in a bright red adorning it, but that was only noticeable compared to the figure's menacing appearance.
He had a skin so black it actually shone in the light like a gemstone, with deep-red eyes staring out of his face. His midlength, messy hair was the exact same shade of red as his eyes; what that revealed was impossible to guess. From slits in his robe on his back, large black bat-like wings were mantled, giving the appearance of having some sort of large shadow behind the man. He was also fairly tall and strong-built, and the fingernails on his hands curled down into claws.
All in all, a rather imposing figure under normal circumstances.
"If I could do that, I would have a much easier time on certain worlds." Xero continued. "Including this one."

The individual almost seemed a little slow in responding to his new company, a few paces after he heard him and he stopped, turning to look to him. As a demon he was not bothered by the appearances of others. "It has it's moments of fair use." he said slowly, sampling each word on his tongue before it escaped his lips as an equally slow smile crossed his lips.
"I was not expecting company." he commented. "To whom or what do I owe the pleasure?"
By now, Abraxas had turned fully to face his company, his fingers lightly dealing with the buttons of his jacket so that they covered him modestly. Bare areas of skin could be seen here and there, lingering with thin, pale scars every now and then. He was unbothered by the presence, unbothered by the disruption in his journey to the village. He didn't care enough to be bothered. This demon had no rush. None at all.

"The name is Xero. I was in the neighborhood and happened to... feel your presence." Xero turned his eyes up towards the sky. "The air and water welcomes you. I hear them, crying out in pleasure. But you are not of them." His eyes turned towards Abraxas. "You've riled up the clouds. I can hear them, wanting to storm. But the world doesn't want a storm at the moment." It was a statement, not a question. Something subtle shifted behind Xero's face as he laid down his words. It wasn't as if he was expecting a challenge, but rather as if something else besides Xero was telling him what to say.
"Enlighten my curiosity. Who are you, that stirs up the elements and excites the storms?"

Abraxas's lips curled upward as he turned his gaze skyward to look up at the clouds. Ah, he could still feel the wind against his scales and the wetness of the clouds as he passed through each one, exciting each with the positive and negative charge of electricity within himself. He wanted to storm too, to raise havock, but at the same time he didn't care to. To storm or not to storm? This place was peaceful and he wanted to relax more than he wanted to work.
"I am from the clouds below. A lightning beast from the land of those who no longer live. Electricity lives within me and I relish that the children of the living sky enjoy my presence. I am Abraxas, an electrical demon." he responded, his voice a low purr of enjoyment as he blinked lazily up at the clouds.

"From the land of those who no longer live..." Xero repeated, a smile on his face. "An interesting way of phrasing that, given what I know about such things. Then again, perhaps not. Death seems different for each world." His wings rustled almost instinctively. It seemed mentioning the 'children of the living sky' had perhaps excited Xero himself. Flying... Flying was one of the pleasures of Xero's life that he couldn't believe he had been granted. Before he had gained his wings, he had flown with magic at times, but nothing compared to wind on wings.
Which brought him back to this self-proclaimed demon. Xero studied him for a moment. He seemed nice enough, but... the world sat uneasy here. There was some danger Xero couldn't find.

Abraxas closed his eyes and turned to Xero before his eyes opened again, his lips still forming that smile. "Hell is as much of a place as this land is. Individuals can be born there or brought there." he mentioned and a small arc of electricity moved from his hairline down one of his locks of hair before disappearing at his back. It was when a second one did the same that Abraxas's smile disappeared and he gazed about at a lazy pace.
Something was causing his little arcs, meaning that there was a charge around in the opposite of what his body had the majority of. Hm. "Perhaps we should find ourself some comfort closer to the village." he suggested, not mentioning what had him mildly concerned.

Xero studied Abraxas for a moment more, before nodding. "Perhaps closer would be better." He agreed. "Some of the people of this world haven't seen me, but some have, and I imagine it's spread that I'm not necessarily something to be afraid of. At the same time..." He shrugged. "Perhaps not. We shall see what happens as it happens." And I can keep an eye on you until I figure out whether or not you're a threat to this world or any other. Xero thought.
He stretched his wings a bit before mantling them again. "Lead the way." He said, extending his hand in a gesture that indicated he would let Abraxas start out first.

Abraxas's smile returned, thin though. "Perhaps if any ask and do not know, you were at a celebration that required costume?" he suggested lightly in good humor. He gave a slight nod from the request to lead and he turned so that they could walk towards town. His pace was slow and lazy, barely could he bother himself to lift one foot more than an inch or two off the ground but his stride was long and he seemed to have an odd kind of grace to him.
Even as they arrived to town, Abraxas had to resist any electrical arcing in the presence of humans. He wanted to relax, not cause someone to go into cardiac arrest upon brushing him. Occasionally, Abraxas looked back to Xero, his expression thoughtful, but other times he was looking around, trying to find the causes of his arcs.

There were many stares and loud murmurings, but this much Xero was used to. As long as there were no attempts to harm him, he was fine with however people reacted to his appearance. All the while, Xero was studying Abraxas. Was he the cause of the world's unease? It seemed likely, given the reaction of the clouds to his mere presence; as Xero had said, the world didn't want storms in this place at the moment. But at the same time, it could always be something else. The only way to find out was to stick with this electrical demon.
Fortunately, the fact that he was with Abraxas seemed almost to paradoxically calm the villagers down. The human-appearance Abraxas could take on was making it obvious that he was with someone presumably normal; or at least, mostly normal. It could, however, throw some of the fear sent towards Xero towards Abraxas instead.

Abraxas's expression was lazy and comfortable, not giving away his feeling of concern in his body's desire to release little arcs of electricity. In a couple minutes, he felt it again and he had to stop off to the side, casting out his senses in order to try to feel out his surrounding. Was there an electrical charge out there waiting for him? Was it that?
No. The sky had its taste of him and wanted to storm, but he just promoted the rain that would come in a day or two. A light shower at the very most. After a moment longer, he opened his eyes and looked back to Xero. "Would you like to get anything to eat?" he offered. Abraxas, a demon who enjoyed luxury in all various forms like food and items of great price, he wanted to actually take part in his goal for this location.

Xero considered. It had been a while since he had eaten. After all, he didn't necessarily have to anymore. The worlds supplied the energy he needed to keep going, as part of his heritage. That said, it still could be a pleasure... "Sure." He replied, shrugging his wings in a peculiar motion. "Why not?" He was on edge because the world was on edge; he was doing his best to hide this, though. You didn't become a great warrior like he was without learning how to hide signs of that sort of thing.
((I'm running out of things to say ahhhh :C I'm bad at this pure interaction stuff. Xero's a lot more battle-based normally.))

Smiling lazily, he inhaled slow and deeply before he caught the scent of food and he followed it. Noodles and tea. Yum. An arc of electricity skipped over his skin before disappearing back into his skin when he swatted the electricity. Stop that. Sighing, he began to truly wonder what was causing his arcing, it was unusual and irritating. Arriving to the noodles place, he entered with Xero and they took their seats, Abraxas ordering two bowls of noodles for them and some tea.
Abraxas is a lazy SOB who's more likely to electrocute someone when he feels threatened than to get into an actual fist fight, he's very casual and interactiony. Sorry ono )

((No, I'm not blaming you, just... if possible, you're going to need to guide this thread a bit more. Like I said, I'm bad at this pure interaction stuff, and you did request to RP with Xero specifically. ^^ It's why I haven't necessarily added much in the thread besides reactions at this point, I figured you might have some idea of what you want in the thread.))
Xero raised an eye at Abraxas for a moment. "You're sparking." His voice was deliberately kept level and neutral. "Is something the matter?" It wasn't always easy determining whether someone was a threat to the worlds or not. Sometimes it meant getting close and discovering what you could. Other times it was easy to tell as whether or not it was raining. This... was definitely one of the first ones. Was the world uneasy solely because this demon didn't belong to it? Or was it something more? Only time would tell.
In the meantime, Xero would wait for his noodles.

I requested him because I preferred his personality the most. It wouldn't clash with Abraxas's too much. I made the thread so we could roleplay and have our characters interact but if you want to add something to the rp, I don't mind. I'm just trying to feel out Abraxas right now, it's been two years since I've actually rped with the sucker)
He hadn't expected Xero to notice the occasional sparks but he smiled lazily. "I can't tell. I usually don't arc unless electricity near by or a majority charge that is the opposite of my majority charge. A negative in my current case." he admitted. From here, he was able to force complete control over his electricity. Perhaps it was because he had gone through the clouds and collected trace amounts of electricity through both, as well as charging the clouds with his presence which was causing him to arc? Perhaps his cup was overflowing a bit. after a bit, their noodles and tea was presented to them and Abraxas smiled lazily to their server.

Xero shuffled briefly, attempting to get in a more comfortable position. It was not the action of a man who had dealt with having wings his entire life, but rather someone who had only recently obtained them. Shrugging his wings in that peculiar motion once more, he began to eat his noodles. This, at least, he seemed to be extremely adept at; it was obvious he had eaten with chopsticks before. He paused to sip at his tea, and his eyebrows shot up briefly as a smile crossed his face. He inclined his head to his server in a gesture of appreciation.
"I must admit, I'm unfamiliar with those of your... kind, for once. Usually I know most types of people in this particular cluster of worlds." Xero said. His tone turned questioning. "I am curious; what do you think of... gods?" The sentence seemed extremely loaded for a plain question, and almost unrelated to his opening.

Sitting quite comfortably, his legs stretched beneath him. Abraxas gave off an air of just being simply relaxed and lazy. Nothing seemed particularly quick about him, not even his manner of speech. Abraxas had an amount of noodles in his mouth when Xero spoke his inquiry.
"Gods..." he repeated slowly before he slurped down the noodle loudly. He was silent for a time, in thought as he ate. Then he gave a bark of laughter. "Gods don't exist. Creatures of immense powers, yes, high up the food chain to consume even those a single rank below them. But Gods do not exist. There is nothing and no one that cannot be killed. So called 'Gods' just fancy themselves to be immortal because no one has defeated them yet." He crooned over his bowl before he picked it up to drink down the broth before he went back to eating the noodles. His statement was bold and uncaring. Some might think that a god might strike him with lightning for it, but it wasn't like that would do any damage.

Xero merely raised an eyebrow. "Correct and incorrect, but more correct than most." He noted in a calm tone. "There are those to whom the word god is entirely applicable... but existing isn't necessarily a term that can be applied to them. They aren't beings like you and I would understand, you see. They're more like..." He held his cup to his lips, sipping as he considered a way to phrase things. "...representations for things that can't be killed."
He carefully ate some more of his noodles before continuing. "They're like a small fraction of a primordial force, gods. And while they can incarnate on levels more like you and I, even that's only a small fraction of that small fraction." Xero wasn't sure why he was explaining this. Maybe it was the way the demon had laughed at gods. Xero... Xero just hated them, now, after his experiences. Or... maybe not. Maybe he just couldn't tell how he felt through all of the bitter regrets.

Abraxas finished his bowl of noodles, gulping down the broth before he drank his tea, debating over another bowl of noodles. "I don't think those are gods then. Gods are a form of status in power. What you speak of, representatives for things that can't be killed, are just that. Spirits who represent." he reasoned calmly and he settled on ordering another bowl of noodles. "I, as a demon, am considered a spirit on most accounts. Being an electrical demon means to some people that I am a spirit of electricity, while in underdeveloped locations, exposing my power would make me, in their minds, a self-proclaimed 'storm god'." he said with a laugh. "It is the people who know better that humor me the most and treat me with the same honesty that they treat their own kind."

Xero gave a small chuckle. "If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, why not call it a duck?" He asked, in a rare moment of good humor. "To me, the sentient aspects of the primordial forces seem to meet all the requirements of 'god' for them to be called such, particularly when they claim the title themselves. Besides..." He quirked up an eyebrow, hand curling up in a wry gesture. "When you're literally bound to serving them, the last thing you think about is questioning whether or not they deserve the title of god when they claim it. Believe me, I would know."
His face turned pensive as he sipped at his tea once more. "I questioned a lot of things about the parts of the eight forces of balance that commanded me, but the title of god was not one of them. That said, even the most foolish person wouldn't want to get wrapped up in that bunch. That's the real key." He stared at Abraxas with a very intense look in his eyes. "Generally, if you meet something that actually qualifies as a god? You not only won't question it, if you have any sense you'll run. They don't really seem to understand what beings like us need in any real sense. Something to do with the fact that they can only give us an infinitesimal piece of their attention at one time."
