Abraxas chuckled through his nose and when his noodles arrived, he took a gulp of broth while he listened to Xero. "I don't believe anyone or anything who is bold enough to proclaim themselves as a God." he replied finally and that was all she wrote on the matter. He fell silent on the topic as he ate. As a creature of Hell, he was well versed in views of higher powers. He used to foolishly believe in one such as the lord of Hell. Posh. The lord of Hell was a demon himself who climbed through the rankings, over bodies of the fallen and bodies of the rivals, in order to sit at the top of the pile, fighting off anyone who seeked to claim the title for themselves. That was how Abraxas viewed higher powers of the world of the living too. Every so often, there was a minute arc of electricity off of his skin, bouncing only an inch or two before disappearing back into his skin.

Xero chuckled himself, seemingly out of his thoughtful state. "Well, I won't try too hard to convince you. That part of my life is over and done with, at a fairly high price." He laughed a bit under his breath. "Amen." There was a large bit of irony in his tone. And with that, his talkative state was gone, as he tucked into the rest of the noodles with gusto. For the remainder of the meal, unless Abraxas were to ask him something, he wasn't likely to contribute any more to the conversation.

Their meal was quiet between the two of them, the conversation of Gods likely uncomfortable and odd between a demon and someone who used to be a vessel for the doings of such higher beings. "You are new to your wings." Abraxas commented as he drank down his broth. He had been wondering about that for a while. He himself would be new to his wings if he had decided to keep them out, but that would also mean being in his genuine form, which attracted attention by itself. Next to noone had silvery scales with black markings, animalistic legs, and a bulbed tail that made chairs an awkward conversation.

Xero had been drinking his broth himself, setting down the bowl with both hands before responding. "Indeed." His tone was... odd. Hesitant? Proud? Regretful? There were many complexities in it that even someone who had known him for a long time would have had trouble unraveling. "The price of my freedom required... service of another kind. To the legacy of my father's blood. The wings are but a small... though incredible..." A small smile spread across his face, and his tone grew wistful with traces of happiness. "...part of that heritage. The only visible part. Well..." And he gestured to his appearance wryly. "The only visible part that is new, anyway. The skin and claws have always marked me."

Listening to his tone, he felt increasingly curious. "And the part that isn't visible? You feel the elements?" he inquired and he finished his broth with a few gulps. His electricity stayed close to his skin but as Abraxas put his bowl down, he reached down from the counter and touched something metal, which allowed him to further spread out his senses to try to figure out the cause of his arcing. It also made the metal object have a charge, therefore was the reason why Abraxas made sure it was an object that wouldn't get touched much.

Xero chuckled. "Well, I won't deny that the elements are particularly eager to help me... but it's both more simple and more complex than that. You could say it's more like I belong everywhere I go..." It was a rather cryptic way of phrasing things, and Xero laughed. "Sorry. Old habits die hard. To put it more bluntly, I am connected to the worlds I visit. The worlds lend me strength, and in return, I channel their power to try and protect them. It's actually not as profound as my father's connection; he can't leave our world, and his life and the world's are intertwined. As it sickens, so does he, and vice-versa."

He chuckled. "Then I suppose my presence as an elemental 'superpower' would, perhaps, cause some disruption. Too much electricity in a stable environment can cause problems." He noted with a smile. Perhaps it was that. Waving a hand for their server to come, he paid the server and moved to stand, removing the electricity from the metal object he had been touching and he smiled to Xero. "About done?"

Xero finished off his broth and tea fairly quickly, standing up. He nodded to Abraxas. "It has been a long time since someone showed me such courtesy. Sometimes in my travels as a warrior, I can forget that manners are something people have. As such..." Xero stepped away and then bowed. It was a large, sweeping bow, and the fluid movements showed that despite his words, Xero had at one point been trained extensively in some form of etiquette. "Thank you for the meal."

Sorry for the long wait, work was eating me alive)
Abraxas smiled slowly. "Your company is adequate enough thanks, Xero. It has been a nice change of pace for my usual taste for solitude." he replied, calm and content and lazy. Then his electricity spiked again, the spark leaping off of Abraxas' skin before floating back. More electricity. Frowning, he spread out his senses. "Are the clouds still celebrating my brief visit among them?" he asked Xero. Something was different. Stronger.

Xero paused, looking up at the sky. His sense of the world's concern hadn't changed, but... it wasn't that he felt the clouds doing anything like that. Without speaking, he spread his wings, and flew upwards, stopping about twenty feet in the air and hovering there, wings flapping rhythmically. First he scanned the skies... then he scanned the ground. He didn't necessarily SEE anything out of the ordinary right away... but there was definitely something going on. With Abraxas's concern... well, he'd see.

Looking up at the sky with suspicious eyes, he wondered if it was the clouds, or if it was something else. He hadn't felt anything from the sky children, their little laps of electricity was a delicate give and take that made them want to storm and his storage become full. Opening his mouth some, he let a spark tickle over his tongue before he closed his trap and the arc of electricity over his skin sparked again. This time he had a better pinpoint. "Xero." he called, turning in the direction he had felt it.

((I have to ask, do you have a plan or are you trying to have me make something happen? :V))
Xero turned in midair with a graceful flip of his wings, turning to look in the direction that Abraxas had pointed out. He still couldn't see anything necessarily out of the ordinary, but at this point there had to be something going on. The unusual response of Abraxas's electricity, the strange feeling he was getting from the world... something was going on here, and he wasn't going to just wait to be caught completely by surprise.
Instead, he held out his hands, and a thin stream of water appeared between them, coalescing into a glaive made of a strange, silvery-blue metal that almost seemed to ripple in the sunlight.

Plan.)
Electricity crackled over his skin and he started running towards the pinpoint. He jerked his head, once to one side, the second to the other, and his skin started to shift, molting silvery as he raced. Abraxas quickly shucked off his jacket, bare skin bleeding to colors as fine as the bellies of fish, black streaking across it too. His genuine form reached out, anatomy changing so his legs were true, his tail extending and the bulb fallowing behind him, crackling lightly with energy.
His strides, already long, extended, and as he built up speed, he jumped, high enough to land on top of a building a good few yards away and he started leaping from building to building with all the skill and talent of a kangaroo. He could feel where it was focusing, outside of the town.

Xero spun his glaive in his hands, feeling its weight like it was a part of his body. With a rush of wind he took off, wings propelling him forward as he followed Abraxas. He held his glaive in front of him, as if trying to pierce whatever creatures he found the instant he saw them. For a brief second, the terrifying aspects of his appearance reasserted itself; he looked like those ancient depictions of bat-winged demons flying with polearms to terrorize innocents. But in truth, as both he and some of those in this village knew, he was a guardian. A protector.
And whatever was wrong, he would put right.

Each leap seemed to carry the demon farther and farther, hopping from one roof to another in ease. Hand extended, he summoned his own weapon, a halberd with a large gleaming black blade. From the blade itself ebbed off subtle otherworldly energies, but much more did it seem to course with Abraxas's own energy. If Xero was like a demon of hell's army, flying to terrorize the innocents, Abraxas was a wingless foot soldier. For the moment.
"This way!" he directed, leaping off of the last roof and into the forest, his silver and black skin directing the way as he disappeared among the bamboo and pines.

Prythian angled his wings and dove, flying directly towards the path that Abraxas now tread. As he reached it, he tucked in his wings and rolled, landing on his feet and continuing his run immediately, wings now mantled. While he wasn't as fast on the ground as he was on the ground, he knew better than to try and land directly in the forest if he could help it. The trees and their branches could form a barrier that would tear the membranes of his wings to shreds.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply DX Life sucks )
Abraxas moved quickly, running rather than hopping before he had to suddenly jump back to avoid being struck by the disturber of his energy. It wasn't something he had ever seen before, a creature unlike hell or earthly he had viewed. It was a heartless that was almost snakelike and huge, coiled up and waiting to attack, clicking it's claw like weapons at Abraxas and the approaching Xero.

Xero didn't halt, but he did slow down. His thoughts immediately went to analyzing the creature that now loomed before them. Serpentine... likely to be difficult to severely damage. Those claws will almost certainly hurt. Have to aim for the head for any success, but that's likely to be the most dangerous part. He came to a single conclusion immediately. Attack from a distance. Unfortunately, he could not afford to use flame in this forest, so that took away part of his options.
Instead, he went for ice. Given that Abraxas was between him and the creature... "Abraxas! Duck!" His harsh voice had gone from its normal cold or kind tones to being filled with authority and command. After all... he had once been the servant of the Gods of Balance. During that time, he'd grown accustomed to commanding, particularly in battle.
Above him, as he held forth his glaive, a whirling rush of wind coalesced into a round shield, the front of it the exact same cloudy sky that was above them. He rammed one end of the glaive underneath it, twirling it about like spinning a disk. And then, as swiftly as he had started, he flung it outwards with the glaive, sending the shield spinning edge-first towards the creature. As it flew, he called on the powers of ice.
Long thin ice grew from the blade of his polearm, extending its reach by a full three feet with a wickedly sharp blade of ice. At the same time, from the edges of the shield extended more blades of ice, turning it from a plain shield into nothing more than an eight-to-nine-foot buzzsaw.

Although Abraxas usually only heeded authority from demons older than he was, when he heard the order, he dropped down onto one knee before the beast, summoning energy from himself and channeling it through his muscles and into the point of his halberd which began to crackle with energy. With enough energy for a concentrated charge, he thrust out the tip of the halberd to release the energy as soon as the buzzsaw of ice whistled over his head with a cold bitter energy that even made a demon like him tremble in malicious pleasure.
The creature released a powerful, ear splitting scream as the chakram of ice bit into it, slicing through its thick armor and biting into its flesh before the concentrated electrical charge afterwards took full advantage of the wound and all the molecules of the body. It could barely make anything more than a startled scream when Abraxas electrocuted it, leaving it stunned but not dead.
"Finish it!" Abraxas told Xero.

Xero closed his eyes and concentrated for a moment, summoning his power. I need your aid! Send me your power, world! All of the tireless strength of the oceans... the eternal energy of the rivers! His eyes opened up as a humanoid figure, made of earth and ice, appeared behind him as he held together his hands. A small core of water appeared between it, then rushed outwards as a twisting, torrential stream of water. "Drown!" The giant stream of water rushed forwards, picking up branches off the trees as it shot for the monster.
This was the most powerful water/ice attack Xero knew. It would pick up and carry anything it touched with them, simultaneously covering them in water and slamming them against solid objects. And on top of all that... it was highly homing, turning on a dime to target them.
And the best part was, with summoning the spirit of the world behind him, all water or ice based attacks would freeze the skin of those they touched, slowing them down. This creature was doomed, in his eyes.
