Lindy joined Arin's side in studying the hole where the keyblade once was. He was right, it was as if someone summoned it. Could this be a survivor of the war that devastated this world? Or could the keyblade that once rested there passed itself to a new owner?
"Maybe whoever has the keyblade now could have something to do with this?" Lindy suggested. This was rather strange to Lindy. It wasn't any keyblader Lindy had met, since the ones she did meet once were long gone. No, perhaps the removal of the keyblade triggered the event of Arin's appearance. Lindy began to think on this, then suddenly lunged her keyblade a foot from the empty slot.
"Is there anything down in the slot do you suppose?" Asked Lindy.

Arin shrugged at Lindy's question, not quite sure of it himself "I always believed the keyblades only had one true owner, and lost their power when the owner died…It's been over two or more decades since the great war for Kingdom Hearts, I doubt anyone's survived from that." Arin flinched when Lindy suddenly lunged her keyblade at the slot, patting his chest to calm himself down, and register her words "At least warn a guy before swinging that thing around…"
"Something in the hole? It's possible…Let me check." Arin pulled out the small rod from before, but did something new this time. Rather than just channel light energy into it and make it glow, he summoned forth an actual sword blade from thin air, shining brighter than the handle alone did earlier. Arin slid the blade into the empty slot, letting the blade illuminate the slot for any clues that might explain the keyblade's disappearance.
But not only was there no useful clues aside from some rock dust, the sword's light shone all the way down to the bottom of the hole, where the blade reached the end of the stone floor's penetration, there wasn't even any hidden pocket of air or burrowed terrain beneath the slot to suggest anything burrowed beneath it to try and take the blade. Arin recalled his sword blade and looked up at Lindy "…Nothing…Just the hole and some rubble inside, no doubt from when the blade was stabbed into the stone. What were you hoping to find when I was checking?"

"Sorry, habit." Said Lindy. She watched as Arin checked and there was nothing.
"I don't know, it's just always good to check for clues in places not often checked. Sometimes when something's missing, there's usually a trace of some sort." Said Lindy. She gripped her keyblade and dismissed it, seeing no need of it. Could there be anything else that could help Arin figure out what had happened? Perhaps she was missing it. Lindy straightened up and began to pace, pondering.

As Lindy was making a second pass during her pacing, Arin suddenly leaned forward, clutching his chest with one hand while keeping himself propped up with one arm. A faint dark aura surrounded Arin for the briefest moment, before it gave the faint illusion of being pulled toward a specific point in the room before fading away. Arin's sword was completely devoid of any light, and his blade was actually forced to vanish by this strange occurrence "…Wh…What?" Arin was completely puzzled, this had never happened before, so why is it happening now? And why was it that he felt a strange presence nearby In the far back of the grotto, where it was the darkest, a lone silhouette loomed nearby, studying the pair with his faint, glowing yellow eyes. What was most perplexing, was that from a distance, in the very little light that revealed his presence, he looked almost identical to Arin, but the left half of his body was easier to see, thanks to the white fabric. The color palette of his suit was vertically split, mirrored by black trim on the white half and vice versa. This strange design almost gave the illusion of only half a person standing where he was. "You look worse for wear, is my presence really that overwhelming for you, Arin?" The voice spoke with little emotion, as if he was hollow. What was eerie about the voice was its similarity to Arin's. In fact, minus the robotic tone, this newcomer sounded just like him. Arin looked back and watched as the silhouette raised his left hand, and a large keyblade formed in a black and gold specked mist. "How pathetic…Maybe you should be put out of your misery...like the useless, time-misplaced mutt that you are…" Arin stared in shock as the keyblade that formed was the exact same blade that was stabbed into the ground during his last visit. Forcing himself to his feet and pocketing his light sword handle, he summoned his own blade to his right hand. Still clutching his chest from the pain of the stranger's presence, he wasn't quite able to speak yet *That's the same blade that gave me my own…But why does this man have it…and why does he look so much like me?*

Lindy felt something strange and paused from the pacing. She looked at Arin and immediately knelt by his side. Something felt wrong, and the wrong feeling was something Lindy was all to familiar with, though this time she was sure it was a different threat.
"Arin, are you alright?" Lindy asked quietly, concerned for him. It was a silly question, but one of those things everyone asks. At the sound of a voice Lindy immediately stood up straight, the right hand lightly touching Arin's shoulder and the left had automatically reached for the blade sheathed on her back. The strange looked very peculiar, and Lindy had seen more than enough peculiar. It was slightly creepier that the other shared a similar voice to Arin's. When the other summoned a keyblade of his own, Lindy left go of the sheathed blade and summoned her own keyblade.
"I wouldn't try that if I were you." Lindy spoke, keeping her eyes fixed on the stranger. She noticed a similarity between the Arin and the strangers blades, both black and gold. Lindy felt the adrenaline beginning to start at the sign of a potential fight. Personally she'd prefer to make a run for it since Arin was having difficulty with just being in the strangers presence. But she stayed where she was, glaring at the stranger.

The side of the stranger's mouth twitched in aggravation when Lindy got between him and his target, aiming the tip at Lindy. The blade stuck out a good three or more feet from the hilt, the dual chains dangling at the base of the hilt "My business isn't with you, woman…I only want the whelp on his knees behind you…But if you insist on interfering, I won't have any qualms about killing you too…"
Arin struggled to his feet, summoning his keyblade with a fair deal more effort than he was used to, was this clone of him impeding his use of the blade? "…Just…Who are you? And why do you look like me?" The doppelgänger lowered his blade slightly, surprised that Arin was able to get to his feet despite his dark presence weighing on him "Have you forgotten the last time you've been to this cave? A Neoshadow and Samurai appeared at the stranger's side, a bit of muscle to keep Lindy from making any sudden moves while he spoke, lifting the keyblade to show all of the blade's glory to Arin and Lindy
"You were defenseless against a hoard of Heartless, and you tried to pull this blade out to defend yourself with. But when you did, you found yourself on an isolated mosaic column, where you fought and overpowered a manifestation of your very shadow…After that subconscious event, you gained much more than you expected from grasping that hilt." Arin reached into his left pocket, pulling his dark sword handle out and looking at it for a while before looking back up at the stranger "…You're a manifestation of my darkness?"
The stranger smirked smugly "Hardly…but I don't need to explain what I am to you. You'll just have to figure that out for yourself." The stranger reached up and lifted the blindfold over his eyes, his pale yellow irises glowing in the darkness, increasing his ominous presence, the markings of a recusant's sigil was embroidered on one of his eyelids, which he showed easily in the darkness with his other glowing eye "But I'll give you a hint…"
Swiping his hand from one side to the other, Arin's name was projected in front of the stranger. Swiping his hand back, he flipped the word around, reversing the letters and projecting the same recusant's sigil next to the A in Arin's name. From Arin and Lindy's point of view, the entire word was flipped, the R and N facing the opposite direction horizontally, but still readable to provide a name "…Nirax?"
"It's only fair you know the name of the being who killed you…" Nirax reared his arm back, keyblade poised to strike. The Samurai also prepared to strike, and the Neoshadow sank into the ground, blending in with the shadows in the cave "I'm only going to warn you one last time woman…Leave now, or stay, and forfeit your life…"

At the strangers response, Lindy slightly curled her lip as if to growl. It wouldn't be the first time someone would try to kill her, so facing death wasn't as terrifying as it would've been years ago. She kept her position and removed her hand from Arin's shoulder as he stood, remaining silent. When the two other beings of darkness appeared, Lindy's right arm extended horizontally, as if to shield Arin. Lindy thought it strange that she was standing in defense of someone she had just met. The war zone had overcome that barrier. Trust the person until you can't was the mindset now. As far as Lindy knew, there could be more heartless and nobodies around. For now there was just the one heartless and nobody, possibly more empowered by the fact the stranger had supposedly summoned them.
The stranger told Arin of the moment of gaining the blade. Now Lindy understood. That black and gold keyblade was noticeable to Arin because it was the one who had given him the ability to use the keyblade. And from the description of the experience, it would be hard for anyone to forget. Though it still didn't make sense as to why Arin was so affected by the stranger. As the stranger showed his eyes to Arin, Lindy took in a sharp breath. Now the stranger bothered her. With the revealing of the name of the stranger, Nirax, Lindy got the idea that the fight was about to start. As Nirax and the nobody prepared to strike and the heartless slipped into shadow, she was given one more chance to leave, but there was no way she could do that. Despite the awful memories of the war beginning to return to her thoughts, Lindy was not going to abandon Arin.
"Then life is forfeit." Said Lindy. She prepared herself for a strike, not allowing herself to be distracted by Nirax's pawns and leave Arin unprotected; not that he couldn't protect himself, but she hadn't seen how Arin fights before, and with Arin's difficulty in being in the same room as Nirax, Lindy wasn't going to take a gamble on someone's life.
"I should warn you, you're dealing with a war vet. Losing isn't an option for me."

"I'll take that into consideration…" Nirax aimed his arm at Lindy, and the Samurai slowly advanced, blades at the ready and prepared to strike. But this was a mild ruse. While the Samurai advanced in the distracted Samurai, and casually advancing Nirax, the Neoshadow had made a wide circle, aiming for what appeared to be for the entrance, before circling around to get behind the two key bearers "This must be quite traumatizing for you, Arin…Fighting a mirror image of yourself, and the creatures that you once had been…" While emotionless, Nirax was still being just as taunting as an overconfident amateur. But his taunts weren't without some results, they were definitely getting through to Arin.
Arin was wide eyed now, frozen with shock as he started to recollect the dark memories of his past. The swarms of those dark creatures, a pair of giant red eyes from the Shadow Hunter Heartless that had defeated him in his darkness consumed world. Then blurry memories of wandering around before blacking out and waking up in the keyblade graveyard. Arin clenched his fists, his keyblade shaking from the strong hold he was putting on the weapon "…Shut up…"
Nirax, amused that he was breaking Arin's concentration, and holding Lindy's focus on himself and the Samurai, continued to advance "Not willing to think of such a possibility, Arin? Why do you think I can summon both a Neoshadow and a Samurai?" Arin didn't respond, too stunned to answer, which continued to amuse Nirax "...I can summon them because you once yielded your heart to the darkness, and these monstrosities came to be because you weren't strong enough to protect your home world..." Arin gritted his teeth, opening his eyes and aiming his keyblade at Nirax, and launching a mass of black flames at the doppelgänger, which was easily deflected by his dark barrier "I must have struck a nerve there…Good…Use that rage, give in to the dark emotions in your heart…Then, when you perish in the very darkness that you fought so hard to escape from…I will have one less keyblade to be concerned with…"
The Neoshadow popped up beside Arin, between himself and Lindy, and started to twirl in midair. Sensing an attack, Arin reached out and pushed Lindy out of the way "Look out!" But this put him right in the center of the Neoshadow's range of attack, and he was hit not just by the claws, but the afterimage strike that followed not too far behind the claws "AGH!" This knocked Arin back several feet, keeping himself on his feet by using his keyblade to keep himself upright.
Seeing his chance, Nirax jumped right out of a casual walk to sprint for Arin's vulnerable position, large keyblade dragging behind him as he aimed to carve Arin in two with one strike "…You are mine, Arin…"

Lindy tensed for an attack and expected the Samurai nobody to attack first. Her adrenaline was starting to rise further from both enemies advancing. She hadn’t forgotten the neoshadow, but she suspected looking away for even a second at the obvious threat was a bad idea, but neither was leaving the hidden threat untracked. Lindy flinched internally when Arin fired the black flames at Nirax, though Nirax had deflected the attack. Lindy heard a brief rush of air.
“Look out!”
Lindy barely had time to react before Arin pushed her out of the way of the attack, exposing himself to the neoshadows’ attack.
“Arin!” Lindy shouted. She leaped to her feet and rushed to intercept Nirax. Lindy recognized to possibility of getting injured in this particular fight and she determined she was willing to take that risk. Instead of standing in front of Arin, Lindy slammed herself into Nirax. She then quickly dashed to Arin’s side and held her keyblade in a defensive position and concentrated on summoning a mirror maze. If all else failed, Lindy would have to make combat much for difficult for those in the cave. (Next post summons maze unless concentration is broken)

Nirax's keyblade clashed with Lindy's blade, just as the Samurai was circling around to attack Arin while his guard was down, both blades at the ready "…I warned you about interfering, woman…Time for you to die..." His body began to emanate heat waves, and the air around Nirax grew hotter by the second. Before Lindy could realize it and break away, her shirt was grabbed by Nirax. "...Burn in hell..."
Arin saw the heat waves coming from Nirax, and knew what was possibly going to happen next. Ignoring the Samurai, Arin rushed to Lindy's side, smacking Nirax's hand free from her shirt and charging up his light barrier, it's golden sheen a polar opposite of the shining black panels of Nirax's barrier as the dark being exploded outward in flames. Arin's barrier began to crack, and he spun around and covered Lindy up as much as he could from the remaining flames that came bursting through Arin's shattered barrier.
The pain from the fire forced Arin to one knee, panting hard as he tried to maintain his composure "...I refuse...to let...anyone...die for...my...mistakes..."

The clashing of blades disrupted her concentration and she was using both hands to keep the block. Nirax gave Lindy a warning. The air began to heat up, and Lindy wasn't sure if it was the adrenaline or if it was actually happening. She was grabbed by the shirt and she understood Nirax's burn in hell was almost literal. Suddenly Nirax's hand was smack away and Arin shielded Lindy from the flames. When the barrier cracked Arin used his own body to shield Lindy. After the attack, Lindy had some burns on her left hand and was still on fire. Arin was also still receiving burn damage. Lindy tried patting down the flames on her hand, and it was still hurting. She'd have to get that treated. Lindy dismissed her keyblade and frantically tried to put out some of the flames on Arin.
"You're not dying either." Lindy muttered. She was trying not to think of what happened in the past, but the memories kept coming to her. Ted. The pain on her burning hand was more than enough to make it worse. The memory was too much. Lindy reached for the blade she never used with the right hand and swung at Nirax. It wasn't a wild swing, but more of a precise one. If connected, Nirax would have a fresh cut on his face.
"You're really pissing me off, you know that? And that is a place you wish you weren't." Lindy spoke before taking on the attack with the sword. There was no way Nirax would get away with this. Lindy hardly knew Arin, but she wasn't going to let him suffer. In one of the slashes at Nirax, she backed up right after with a punch toward Nirax's face.

Nirax spun his head to avoid getting hit anywhere too severe, managing to get a slash on his cheek going up from his right eye, where the X was branded on his face. When Lindy went on the offensive, Nirax was back-stepping and parrying Lindy's strikes with her blades. He didn't, however, see the hook that was aimed at his face. Nirax's head turned to the side when that punch collided, but he looked at Lindy, seemingly unphased by the impact.
"You only have yourself to blame for your rage, woman...And I've grown tired of your petty squabbles and constant interference..." His body started to grow darker, the floor around his feet pulsing with darkness that engulfed his entire body, the pulses pushing Lindy away and back beside the weakened Arin.
When the darkness subsided, Nirax has taken a bit of a style change. His clothes were all black now, save for the golden trim that replaced the white and black trim from before. Nirax's eyes were glowing even brighter yellow now, and his pupils were gone, His eyes a solid yellow like those of a Heartless. Fusing his keyblade halves at the handle, he made what looked like a double sided weapon.
"Fall to darkness, both of you." Niras hurled the kayblade at Arin and Lindy, the blade spinning like a giant buzz saw and surrounded by thick wisps of dark aura. Arin brought up his keyblade to deflect, but his strength was waning from the hits he's taken so far, and the keyblade wavered in his hand. His lack of strength was equally apparent by the amount of strain shown in his face and the clenching of his teeth as he braced himself for the worst.

Lindy was pushed back by the pulses and she watched as Nirax had changed.
"Ugh I didn't really want to use this!" Lindy grumbled. She stood in the way to deflect the blade with her sword and summoned her keyblade into her left hand. The pain was subsiding but it still hurt. Lindy stabbed her keyblade into the ground.
"Arin, take my arm." Said Lindy.
Gravity Suspension in Effect: 5 posts remaining
Lindy managed to strike the blade away, but not without the tip giving Lindy a fresh cut on the left side of her face, just barely missing her eye. The cut stung, but the bother would be worth it. If Arin hadn't taken Lindy's arm by now, Lindy locked her sword in her sheath and took him by the arm as anything and everything in the room would begin to rise above the floor. She smirked at Nirax briefly. As far as Lindy knew, she was the only one who was used to situations with a lack of gravity. Most of them had been self inflicted. Lindy would have to be careful now. If she managed to get herself and Arin out of the cave, that would leave sufficient time to find a safe place to hide. Or leave without Nriax following close behind.

Nirax split his keyblade in two and hurled one half toward the ground, stabbing it into the stone floor below. As he hung up in the air, tethered by the aura linking him to his keyblade, Arin let out a sigh of relief, staggering out of the cave as quickly as he could "We can't fight this guy if he can outnumber us...We need to gain some distance."
Watchign Arin staggering his way out of the cave, Nirax swung the free half of the keyblade and sent an arc of dark energy hurtling toward Arin.
"I won't let you escape that easily, Arin. You will die by my hand."
