Bishop was tired, the heartless had been ruthless, constantly attacking him during his visit to this world. It also seemed this world was quite empty of life, besides the massive amount of heartless that lay in wait for the unprepared. He walked slowly, as the wait of the book on his back seemed to be getting, worse as the extended combat was keeping him from resting. He had spent months on the front lines of some of the most brutal battles, but even then he had extended rests.
As night fell something was illuminated in the night, it was a castle, and a large one at that. He made his way there slowly, careful to not bring attention to himself. That plan was dashed quite quickly, as he heard the rustling in his surroundings. As they poured from the shadows, he ran towards the massive place. He made it up the stairs, but felt the heartless hot on his heels, and that's what made him antsy. As he reached the door, he spun around as a tidal wave of creatures smashed into him, breaking the door open.
With one swipe of his keyblade he sent many into oblivion, but more still poured from the now open door. He threw several names at the on coming creatures, catching enough to force them out. He slammed the door in the face of this evil. And slumped against it, drained. This door would not hold for long, and he couldn't exactly sleep now, in fact he never slept, although he wanted to desperately, but the voices of the dead screamed for blood. They always did, but it was not his job right now to please the dead, it was to live.
"Is anyone alive, and well." he yelled to the open space above him.

Earlier in that day, Megumi had found herself in the quiet little town outside of the so-called 'Beast's Castle.' The keyword here was definitely 'quiet'; there were practically no people around in the town.
Borin', Megumi quickly surmised, folding her arms and giving a sigh. Her eyes turned from the curiously empty town, the sun hanging low in the sky and preparing to set, to the large structure far off; a massive castle, by the looks of it.
Megumi's eyes lit up, and a smile crossed her face. Much less borin', by the looks of it! she thought cheerfully, before beginning to make her way up to the castle... unaware of the surfacing of black creatures from the shadows.
It hadn't taken her long to get to the building from where she was; she was surprised to find no security when she went through the gate into the courtyard, and even more surprised to find that the front door gave way with a simple push. She expected there to actually be people in this castle but apparently it was as dead as the rest of the town.
Man, what is this? The town where fun comes to die or somethin'? Megumi wondered as she climbed the staircase on the left, beginning to wander across the balcony. There was a hall to the left, a hall to the right, and a massive door she was sure she could hear some rustling behind... She was about to go through the door, excited at the prospect of something actually being there for the first time in this town, when there were sudden bangs and crashes from the direction of the front door.
Megumi frowned and went over to the balcony's ledge, looking over to the door where she saw - shock horror! - a person slumped against it, looking tired out. "Is anyone alive, and well," the guy called out.
"Alive and more well than you seem to be, anyway," Megumi called from the balcony, frown deepening at the guy's sudden showing up. "Are you alright? You look like you've just come from a war," she commented.
Outside the door, several more crashes and bangs came as whatever was outside it kept trying its hardest to get in. "The heck's goin' on out there, man?" Megumi asked from where she was... almost sure she could see shadows moving in the foyer below, but putting it down to 'just her imagination.'

He looked up at the voice, and saw a woman, not a girl, but a woman. He blinked a few times dazed beyond belief. He took in what little she said and processed it at half speed. He looked down again seeing the shadows inside his haven moving. The massive keyblade appeared in his hand, he used it like a walking stick pushing himself up with it. The thing looked bigger and much heavier then him, but he wielded it like a toothpick.
"Uh swarms of things that want both us dead, heartless to be more specific. And looks like we have some unwelcome visitors here as well." he said pointing to the shadows as more seemed to appear. They pounced and many instantly met their fate in a large sweep of the massive weapon, it sent many flying smashing into the walls. The ones that made it through the opening strike, clung on to his back.
He ripped one off smashing it into the ground hard enough to crack it. The second was stabbed by the sharp points of his gauntlet. The others hung on as more came at him. He slashed the air, and a dark inky substance flew at them cleaving them in half. Finally he managed to pull off the last few from the giant book smashing them into the ground. He steadied himself with his weapon fatigue taking hold properly now.
"If you don't mind I wouldn't someone to...." He was cut off as he fell to the floor, drained from almost 24 hours of solid battle.

Megumi leaned against the balcony's railing and watched the guy as he talked, taking in the strange design of the armour he wore. She briefly wondered if he was some kind of soldier, before her train of thought was ended as the shadows she thought she saw moving showed that they were definitely not just in her imagination. Out of nowhere, a massive weapon just... appeared, right there in the guy's hands, and he helped himself up with it. Now that, I've gotta ask about.
"Uh swarms of things that want both us dead, heartless to be more specific. And looks like we have some unwelcome visitors here as well," the possibly-soldier replied to her question, pointing at the shadowy creatures. Megumi watched as he fought the things, confusion having definitely set in by now. I don't know about him, but what the heck do they want me dead for? I don't even know what a 'heartless' is, she thought with folded arms as the fella used some - quite honestly strange - techniques she'd never seen before to beat the last of the creatures, even using a massive book to beat on them.
"Definitely seems like a soldier," Megumi surmised to herself after the battle was won. She began walking to the stairs and down them, deciding to go down and talk to the man, to find out what the heck was going on here and who he was.
She had just gotten down the stairs when he spoke again, looking pretty worn out. "If you don't mind I wouldn't someone to...."
Whatever he was about to say didn't get said, though; one moment the fella was up, the next he was on the floor. "H-Hey, dude!" Megumi cried in alarm, automatically going over to where the young man had landed and kneeling beside him. "Dude," she repeated, tapping his face firmly with her palm a couple of times in an attempt to get him up.
From behind the large door, a loud growling roar suddenly came, and Megumi closed her eyes and grimaced a bit. "Great; a downed fella in amidst a load of monsters. Just great," she sighed, looking around for a moment. At least for now, there didn't seem to be any more monsters in the foyer...
"Right. Upsy-daisy," Megumi said as she picked the fella - well, the boy, as it looked; he seemed to look a fair bit younger than herself - up, before taking him over to one of the doors on the far side which lay just slightly ajar. Nudging the door open with her foot, she saw a small room with a fireplace, ornately decorated much like the rest of this place and blissfully free of monsters, so she decided to put the boy in here while he recovered. Carefully, she closed the door and propped him up near it... or, well, as carefully as she could; there was a reason her nickname was 'Meaty-Hands Megumi' in school. She wasn't very good at doing things 'carefully' or 'gingerly.'
With the soldier boy propped up, the door to the tiny little room safely shut and the room (which Megumi had only just now realized was very dark) good and quiet, the woman just looked at the boy and tried to think of a plan of action, hoping he wouldn't be out of it for too long a time. All things considered, he was her only source of information about these creepy buggers that seemingly wanted them dead, and if she had to escape, it'd be pretty awkward to fight and carry him with her.

Bishop had nightmares in the brief time he was, knocked out. Billions of dead souls screamed at him, and grabbed at him, and as they pulled him under he woke up. He looked around a bit and settled on the woman in front of him. She was odd, wearing what seemed to be armour on one arm and casual clothing, not exactly something to walk into a fight. He put a hand it his eyes, the sleep deprived, bloodshot eyes moved slowly around the room, it was safe for now at least. The boy looked strange, ink blots in his hair, gaunt face, and an unsmiling demeanour deterred many people, but not this woman.
He sat up a bit better, positioning himself more comfortably. He looked himself over, a few scratches and bruises but nothing too serious, or fatal. As checked the book on his back, and his gauntlet he focused on the person in front of him more closely.
" my name is Bishop Preastes, i am looking forward to knowing you." He said softly putting his hand out.

In the time the boy was asleep, Megumi took the opportunity to look him over a little more closely. He couldn't exactly get freaked out by her staring if he wasn't awake to see it, right? Her eyes wandered over the strange armour he wore, the massive book he carried and the unusual discolouration in his hair. A strange-looking fellow indeed... but Megumi liked strange, so she wasn't going to complain. She was pretty strange herself when it came down to it.
At the sound of movement, Megumi stood up a little straighter in preparation, but she relaxed upon seeing it was just the boy waking up. Oh, good, he's not dead. That's definitely a start, she thought, before the boy spoke to her.
"my name is Bishop Preastes, i am looking forward to knowing you."
Bishop Preastes, eh? Definitely a different-sounding name, but that was to be expected from someone who wasn't from her world. "Megumi Nakamura," she introduced herself, walking over and shaking the boy's hand with a firm grip. "Likewise, of course," she added with a bit of a smile intended to be friendly, referring to his last statement.
"Sorry if it seems sudden an' all, but I've got a couple... well, probably more than a couple, questions for you. I better just check somethin' real quick, though. 'Scuse me," Megumi said as she shifted past Bishop, opening the door just enough to stick her head out and make sure the coast was clear. Satisfied that it was - apart from the strange rustling coming from the room upstairs, but nothing seemed to be coming of that for the moment - she came back in and closed the door behind her.
"Righty, Bishop, question time," Megumi began, moving to sit on the floor opposite the boy. "First things first; why do you look so beat up, what is a 'heartless,' and why are they tryin' to do us in?" She had more than that to ask, but she didn't exactly want to go in all guns blazing and overwhelm the kid with questions. All things considered, he'd only just recovered from passing out.

He gave a small smile taking in her name, and then the questions she asked. He payed close attention to her very simple, but difficult to answer questions. They were questions he didn't really have an answer to, but he had to think of something. He stood up and began pacing slowly to get his blood pumping and his body back into fighting shape, in case the monsters broke that door down.
" The first one is easy. I was followed for almost 24 hours fighting non stop to get here. Second question is uh difficult" he said softly scratching his chin. " heartless are creatures who do not have a heart, they constantly search for one though, which is why they chase after us, but more importantly me since i wield a weapon called a keyblade." He spoke slowly as if thinking of the answer while talking, his words were chosen carefully and precisely.
he looked at the girl once more and blushed slightly, she really was beautiful, but he felt that he was a bit too ugly to catch her attention, he chuckled to himself. Many thought he looked like a nightmare incarnates just from the aura alone, which he found incredibly amusing.

Megumi watched the boy - Bishop, rather - pace back and forth with interest, folding her arms across her chest and listening to the answers he gave.
"You were fighting for twenty-four hours straight?" she asked after he finished his explanations, blinking her eyes, surprised. If he'd been fighting for all that time and only just now succumbed to fatigue, then he really must have been some kind of soldier... Megumi admired strength like that. It was the want for that kind of strength that made her what she was today. "That's amazin', I gotta say," she nodded.
Her mind went to what he'd said after that, though; about the heartless (who apparently didn't have hearts, however that worked out) and chased after people who had them, and went after Bishop in particular because he had a 'Keyblade.' "The weapon you were attackin' 'em with earlier, right?" Megumi asked, thoughts going back to the huge weapon - bigger than the boy himself if her mind wasn't exaggerating, actually - he was wielding earlier. "What makes 'em come after you and your 'keyblade' in particular? 'Scuse the questions and all, man, but I've never heard of this stuff before."
Megumi couldn't help but think how strange all this was, looking off to the wall for a second; stumbling into this world just for a visit, then finding this strange kid and learning all these weird things...
Out of the corner of her eye, she looked back to Bishop after hearing what sounded like a quiet laugh coming from his direction. From what she could see, he was... a little bit red in the face, actually. A smile crept across Megumi's face; she had to admit, the kid was pretty cute like that, all hardened soldier-looking but still blushing away. "Hey, you alright?" she asked somewhat playfully, still smiling a bit. Yeah, definitely kinda cute to look at, she decided, chuckling a bit.

"Uh well I don't really know to be honest why they chase keybladers so much, it's not like this was given to me with a manual or anything just appeared really." He said shrugging some of the red in his face dissipating.
He was relieved that the moment of embarrassment had passed, and tried to compose himself some more. He didn't know what they should do, since there were probably hundreds of those creatures, and perhaps some that were incredibly powerful. Luckily they didn't seem to be showing up, but he knew they would eventually, and frankly he did not want to be in an enclosed space when they did. It was a siege now, and he hated the siege, it reminded him too much of why he was here to begin with.
His train of thought was broken by the girls more playful second question. He was a bit taken off guard since the tone and the way she said it was different, it wasn't really a question, more like an advance. He didn't know if he liked it, but tried to take it in stride.
" Yeah I'm fine now, just a bit tired and quite peckish." he said honestly. He could hear his stomach crying out for food, but he had survived on less and for longer, so he wasn't too bothered. Probably why he had such a gaunt figure, he thought with a bit of amusement. If he did eat more he would bulk up, but food was burned off quickly with his day job, and food never tasted good to him, it always tasted flavorless and dead.
He stopped pacing and looked at the window as the sun set, he could see a young pale, and what he would describe disfigured young boy. He sighed as he put a hand on his stomach and on his back, lifting the large book off of him and placing it gently on to the floor. He opened it up and checked to see if he had missed anything, but found everything as it should be.

"Mm, I'm kinda tired myself, actually," Megumi replied to the boy's last comment, stretching out her arms upwards and rolling her shoulders a bit to get some of the tension out of them. The past... however long it had been - everything had kind of went by in a blur - had been pretty hectic and full of way more information than she'd bargained for.
Leaning against the wall, the woman watched the sunset from where she stood. In all honesty, she was part watching the sun go down and part watching Bishop. She couldn't exactly help it, though; considering the only men she'd really been around for extended periods of time prior to coming here were geeky scientists whose massive-rimmed glasses obscured whatever attractiveness they may or may not have had, an interesting looking cutie with a story to tell who could handle a fight was more than a welcome sight to her.
As Bishop put the massive book he carried on the ground and seemed to start reading it, Megumi pushed off the wall and slowly walked over. As she did, she caught a look at her reflection in the window; all veins and black eyes, no whites or pupils on show. She looked like a bug on steroids with a huge rack... After snickering a bit at her own thought, she brought herself back to reality with a subtle tap on her own forehead. "Hey, Bishop," she began conversationally, "I've been meanin' to ask you... What is that huge book you've got on you, anyway? I'm gonna guess it's no regular book, considerin' the size of it," she said, looking down at the book, not quite able to make out what was written inside it.

He closed the book carefully, and as the cover closed the voices in his head muffled a bit. He sighed rubbing his face, even though he had been brought up to do this, it never got easier. The book of Martyrs was his greatest gift and curse, which he always found funnily ironic. The book was ancient magic, and was venerated by him like it was a deity, in reality it kind of made him a deity. The book is what gave him strength, although the spirits inside were the fuel for this machine. As the girl asked about the book he hesitated, and wondered if he should tell her. He decided it wouldn't do any harm and stood up he looked into her eyes and smiled a little.
" This book is The book of Martyrs." He said simply. " My family was part of an order called the Keepers, and as Keepers we protected this book. The reason we did is because, it has the names of everyone who has died, while you may not be able to see the names they are there. This does not trap their soul, but it does give me an indication of who or what killed them. See over here notice how the letters flicker this person was killed in an inferno. It grants me enormous strength, but it does not let me sleep, and I am the last of my order. If I die the book goes with me." He said solemnly.
Now more then ever the young boy seemed to age 30 years. The bags under his blood shot eyes, the way he slouched when he walked without the burden. All of it had taken its toll, and no matter how many years he would have trained it would've ended the same way. Walking the path where the damned speak to you was hard on him, and very few understood it, or could even be around him, since the aura around him was of death and anger.
"It is a burden." he said softly. "especially being alone." He said under his breath as leaned against the wall watching the sun set, not wanting it become night.

Megumi just listened intently as Bishop explained his strange book; the 'Book of Martyrs,' apparently. She looked at the strange lettering, thinking about all those guys and girls who'd lost their lives. It was kind of sad, but it couldn't be helped in the end. Everybody died at some point... No matter how hard they try to be strong and avoid that stuff, she thought somewhat bitterly, her eyes flickering to the window and again catching sight of her reflection.
"It is a burden," Bishop's voice brought her attention back to reality, and she turned her head over her shoulder to face him. The poor kid had a lot on his shoulders, especially for his age... All alone, the last of his order and not even allowed to sleep at the end of the day. "especially being alone."
Megumi turned fully to face Bishop after hearing that. It had been said quietly, so she had the feeling she hadn't been meant to hear it... but she did, and now she wasn't entirely sure what to say.
"If it's any kinda consolation," the woman began, her voice a little quieter and less boisterous than usual, "I get what you mean, about being alone at least." Watching the sun set outside, the sky fading from brilliant orange to a steady darkness, she folded her arms and leaned her back against the wall also. "Where I come from, I made a decision that seemed like a great idea at the time that... really wasn't. It got me pretty much thrown off my own planet by wimps who were scared of what I could do; or, well, that's how it seems, at least. I don't totally remember the details." Realizing she was going on, Megumi turned her eyes from the now dark sky, staring instead at the ceiling and giving a sigh. "Bottom line is, now I'm trapped off of my own homeworld. So I kind of know what it is to be alone too, if that matters any."
Megumi closed her eyes, signalling she was done if the kid had actually cared enough to listen. She didn't often talk about herself or what had happened, so it was kind of nice to get that stuff off her chest... and with any luck, it might've made Bishop feel somewhat better about his situation, or something like that. Truth be known, she wasn't entirely sure what she'd hoped to do.
"Seems like night's fallen," she eventually said after a period of being very quiet, opening her eyes and staring ahead. "Wonder if we're gonna be stuck in this lil' room all night," she chuckled a bit.

Bishop listened carefully to the girls story, and in many ways it was similar to his, both were isolated and both carried powers that they'd rather not have. It did make him happy knowing someone who kind of knew what he was going through. The thought also distressed him as no one should have to bear this. He rubbed his face again, as night fell, he felt vulnerable. He had never liked the dark as the spirits always seemed to scream louder as night fell, also during the massacre in his home, during the nights all he could hear was the creatures trying to break through the massive doors that kept them out.
"Finally nice to know someone who understands being alone." he said smiling.
All these thoughts made his skin crawl and decided to focus on something else. Well more like someone else, Megumi was pretty, he was rarely in such close quarters to women and found he described them like a 5 year old. He blushed a bit more about how naive he was or sheltered would be a better word. She like many girls made him blush, and the fact she was different made him more intrigued about her, interested even.
"Well there could be worse people then you to be trapped with." He said blushing. He sat down slowly a little ways away, scared of touching her by accident or offending her. He couldn't believe he had said that and blushed a bit more, pulling he knees to his chest and taking the large gauntlet off. It made a dull clank as it was set gently on the floor, ink stopped leaking from it.

Hearing Bishop's comment, Megumi looked to him and returned the smile, glad that her story had actually made him feel better. She wasn't fond of whining about her situation - in fact, that was the first time she'd ever actually told anyone about it - so she at least took solace in the fact it wasn't in vain.
There wasn't much to say, so she just looked back to the window for a moment... though the reflection she saw - hers and Bishop's, at the right angle - made the woman frown a bit. Bishop was staring at her, or so it looked. A smile crept across Megumi's face; she didn't mind being stared at at the best of times, but it was especially nice coming from someone she was actually finding herself fond of. I guess somethin' good's come of this day, after all, monsters aside, she thought, before turning as Bishop began to talk.
"Well there could be worse people then you to be trapped with."
Honestly, it was all Megumi had not to either laugh a bit or actually say 'aww' aloud; instead, she just settled for chuckling quietly to herself. He's actually gone bright red again, she thought, almost feeling sorry for the guy. Either she was just really his 'type,' or he wasn't much used to women, she reckoned...
"I could say the same to you, my man," Megumi said with a smile, moving over to sit opposite Bishop. "I can honestly say, if I'm ever gonna be trapped in a castle haunted by monsters who are out to kill me again, I can only hope it's with someone as interesting as yourself," she nodded her head in his direction. And as adorable, too, but I'm not exactly gonna say that out loud; he'd probably faint, she thought with a chuckle to herself.
Giving a bit of a yawn, Megumi looked at the window again. "Wonder what time it is," she mused, stretching some of the tension out of her back as she did. Since it was beginning to look as if they really would be stuck in that little room all night, she looked back to Bishop. "Hey, it's just occurred to me... I never did ask where you came from," she said. "Are you from the town out there, or... some other place?" She was careful not to say 'some other world;' she was aware that some others didn't know about other worlds, and she was given to understand that people who knew about other worlds weren't meant to go babbling about it to people who didn't.

Bishop looked a bit nervous as Megumi scooted closer to him. It wasn't that he didn't like it, he just didn't know what to do. I mean what to do in this situation? He stayed where he was making extra effort to not touch her by accident or in an indecent way or anything, even though his eyes did wonder to those places occasionally. He was curious more then anything looking at her with a mixture of fascination and embarrassment.
As night fell he got a bit more nervous, he didn't like the night, in fact he was scared of it. He would never admit it to anyone, but his body gave him away as the moon rose and everything grew dark, he felt his whole body tense a bit more and he just felt vulnerable. He was supposed to be the man who carried the book into battle with no fear or hate only to end it, but he was no man, he felt like a child. He was wiser then his years, but he was still only 18 and really never had any other experience with people besides a few isolated instances.
His eyes drooped a bit as he warded off sleep desperately trying to keep himself awake. Unknowingly he leaned a bit to the side touching her shoulder a bit, too exhausted to notice, he kept his blood shot eyes from closing, fearful of the dreams and the darkness. His bloodshot eyes groggily stared at the door, waiting for battle. In this state his head slipped into her rack, he didn't notice at first but his head shot up and his cheeks turned a fire red as he apologized rapidly and in slight gibberish, blushing hard enough to keep him awake.

Megumi had to do her utmost to not chuckle at poor, poor Bishop; she was reckoning by now that he really wasn't used to being around women. Smiling a bit, she turned her head away and yawned, tiredness having crept up on her with the arrival of the night. She hadn't even noticed it until now... dammit, sleeping on the floor in this cramped room was going to be a pain. Then again, considering the fact there'd been creatures out to kill her and her present company earlier, she supposed there were worse things that could be happening right now.
The woman leaned further against the wall, her eyes falling shut on their own as she thought. It was strange that on her first visit to a new world, she would meet someone so... different to what she was used to. Was it fate? Megumi wondered to herself, her breathing slowing slightly as she steadily fell asleep. Gosh, do I even believe in fate? For goodness sakes, woman, get a hold of yourself; he's just some kid you'll probably never meet again and-- wait a damn second.
Megumi's train of thought was suddenly halted by a strange phenomenon; one she never could have imagined nor predicted up until now.
Somehow, something was against her rack. She didn't know what, but there was a distinct pressure that wasn't there until now... The woman cracked open an eye to get a look at whatever it was that had found its way onto her chest.
As it goes, it was more a case of whoever. By the looks of it, Bishop had fallen asleep and his head had fallen... well, in an awkward place, to say the least.
Megumi's cheeks reddened, and unlike most women, she didn't scream or thrash. No, she actually started laughing as she stared down at the boy, thinking how this bizarre situation had just multiplied by about a billion.
Sure enough, Bishop was awake again quickly; and sure enough, when he noticed where his head was, the head was up and he was scarlet and apologising like nothing would stop him.
Again, Megumi laughed, covering her eyes with her left hand and placing the other on Bishop's shoulder good-naturedly. "Oh, son," she said as she caught her breath after the laughing-fest, "you don't have ta be so sorry. It was obvious you didn't mean it, so it's cool. And besides..." The woman's eyes took a slightly devilish look as she dropped her chin a bit and said, "I wasn't exactly thrashin' to get you off me, aren't we both at fault?" she asked with another chuckle and a wink. That was said in an attempt to make the boy feel somewhat better about what had happened; that and, well, she really hadn't been thrashing to get him off her. It'd been a while since she'd found someone so interesting and cute, never mind been in such an 'interesting' position with them.

He barely heard her laugh or that she didn't mind, too busy speaking too fast to hear apologies. He had never been even near that area before, and even though he was naive knew he wasn't supposed to touch there unless something he didn't understand happened. He felt so embarrassed and a little ashamed of his actions. He hated the fact he was so difficult to be around and had had few friends to tell him what's right and wrong. This he felt was wrong. He hoped he had guessed right, but the woman didn't seem upset, far from it the more he thought about it.
" I'm really sorry about that, i was tired and i know i'm not supposed to touch there and and and...." He managed to speak this one line with enough cherency to be understood, but lost his train of thought as his eyes drifted to hers then down at where he was once and then back up. In his eyes was a child, someone who barely understood what had happened and was a tiny but scared.
He leaned against the wall away from her putting his face into his hands so he would stop staring and being something he would catqgorize as disrespectful. He wanted respect from friends and he was determined to show his friend respect as well, by not staring. The task was one of the hardest to say the least.

Megumi's amusement gave way to a slight concern; Bishop seemed to be taking it... really, really hard that he'd accidentally done what he'd done. He looked like a frightened kid, or a puppy, or something like that. She felt pretty sorry for him, in all honesty.
"It's like I said, man, you don't have to be so sorry," she said, watching him distance himself from her again and... gosh, his hands were over his face. He wasn't crying, surely? She hoped not...
Raising a hand, the woman was about to go over and talk to Bishop, but she quickly thought better of it; she decided to just give him a bit of space instead. He needed to calm down and relax a bit; she was a woman, not an ogre...
"Honestly, about what happened; you didn't mean it, so I'm not upset or anythin'," Megumi told him, shifting a bit to lean somewhat more comfortably against the wall. "You can relax, okay? I'm not gonna eat you... and just so you know, just 'cause I'm a girl doesn't mean you have to act different. Just, Iunno, act like I'm a guy or somethin'," she shrugged, feeling like that was a good point to make if he really wasn't used to women (which he really didn't look to be.)
Settling against the wall, Megumi closed her eyes and decided to try and catch some sleep, which would hopefully give Bishop time to recover from the, uh, rack incident. "I'm gonna try and sleep for a bit, but if you wanna talk or anythin' like that, just gimme a shove an' I'll wake up, okay?" she said, folding her hands over her stomach and thinking nice thoughts. (Which may or may not have had to do with someone's head in her chest.)

" Sorry I didn't mean to make you sad, I just don't want to stare." He said softly. He didn't take his face out of his hands for a good 30 minutes, calming himself down. When he finally opened his eyes he looked around making sure nothing had popped out while he was calming down. To his relief nothing had and the scratching and noises had died down a bit. He sighed with relief liking the silence, since he really didn't get a lot of it. He still felt bad about the incident, but felt felt a bit better knowing she wasn't mad at him.
"If you don't mind can i sleep near you?" He asked carefully. He really didn't want to be alone. Even though he was a warrior of such high caliber, even he needed at least a bit of good sleep, especially since tomorrow was looking like a massive battle in front of the castle. He actually hadn't considered if his friend could fight herself, let alone as well as he could. He chided himself for being so cocky, while he was a formidable fighter he wasn't the best and was not unbeatable, in fact he had his own close shaves, mainly due to lack of rest.
"Uh can you cook too?" He asked a little louder,"I'm really hungry, and i never really got the hang of it." he said sheepishly. He had always wanted to cook, but found it very difficult for some reason or another, namely how he was always a bit too tense. He smiled a bit at how he once tried cooking meat, but kept flinching at the sizzling and spitting. He really did need some rest from his duties, but as a keeper there was none. There wouldn't be one until he was 6 feet under the ground.
"I'm so tired." he mumbled.

Megumi had drifted off into a vague kind of sleep; the kind that was half-conscious and half-not, full of thoughts about the damn kid who she couldn't get herself to stop thinking about.
At the sound of said kid's voice, though, she woke up fully and sat up a bit, bringing a hand up to rub the sleep out of an eye; she wasn't entirely sure what he'd said, since it was asked quietly and with a lot of trepidation (as seemed to be the norm with Bishop, to be fair) but it sounded like a question about sleeping near her.
The woman gave a little smile, moving the hand to rub the other eye. "Sleep as near to me as ya want, I'm not gonna bite you for it," she jested, leaning her head back against the wall and looking up at the window, wondering how long - if at all - she'd been sleeping for. It didn't seem to have gotten any darker or lighter out... the moon hung brilliantly in the sky, practically staring down at her from its position and bathing the room in its lovely glow. Good thing too, since it looked to be the only source of light in the room.
Bishop then posed her another question; one that made her eyes widen a bit and bad, bad memories slip back into her mind. He'd asked if she could cook... Now, on her homeworld, Megumi's cooking was famous. Unfortunately, it was famously bad; she could practically burn water and make cake taste like chicken, she was that bad a cook. Last time she tried to make herself some toast, the toaster practically punched her in the face for bothering it so.
She looked back to Bishop and wondered what to say. She wanted to say 'no;' her brain said 'no,' but in the interest of keeping the boy somewhat happy (even if it would just be until they came to crossing that bridge,) before she knew it, her mouth had opened and she'd said "Yeah, I can cook a bit! No problems there, man..."
For heaven's sakes Megumi look what you've just done. Turning away and cringing ever-so-slightly, the woman had to resist the urge to pinch the bridge of her nose at her own stupid mouth. Usually, she would have just been upfront and said 'sorry, dude, but when I cook, the meat comes back to life just to run away from me,' but something about this one made her mouth run some kinda crap that was only gonna explode in her face later...
"I'm so tired."
Megumi's eyes went back to Bishop as he spoke, and she gave a tired kind of smile. "Come on, then," she said, moving over to him and taking a hold of his wrist, trying to pull him over closer to her as per his request to sleep next to her; she had a feeling he still wouldn't have been comfortable with doing so on his own, even with her permission. "Let's try and get whatever the hell sleep we can get in this box of a room, huh?" she chuckled a bit, lying back down and motioning for Bishop to lie next to her.
