Ryo looked on with confidence starting to swell within her. Sure, the attacks had minimal success but there was a strong sense of hope that they could become strong. After David suggested a diagonal strike,Ryo gave a nod and prepared herself for her next attack. But as she was getting ready it was obvious she was nervous. "Um, just so you know this last one was never one I was good at. So be on your toes."
She took in a deep breath and placed held onto her sword with both hands this time. As the electricity began to build her lavender hair began to stand on end from the static. Golden sparks surged around the wing-shaped blade as she lowered it at her side and behind her. "Thunder!" She yelled with an upward sweep of the sword. She did a diagonal strike as instructed, but as the lightning flew from the sword it wasn't well controlled.it spasmed and jumped around like a whiney string caught in a violent wind. But even with it's sporadic movements it still made its way to David.

David watched with a small measure of apprehension as Ryo charged up the Thunder spell. He never had been able to find very many counters for electricity, and only had one thing he could block with. He jumped backwards in an odd twisting motion that kept his keyblade in contact with the ground and pointed diagnolly away from Ryo while he called out his own skill. "Crystal Genesis!"
The ground rumbled for a moment, then waist high spikes of diamond hard crystal erupted in a line from the tip of his keyblade and ending ten feet away, just slightly passing Ryo to the right. David ducked under the crystal wall just before the Thunder hit, making very sure not to touch anything but the ground. The spell hit the spikes and was channeled into the ground harmlessly, thanks to the conductive nature of crystals. He stood again, his grin replaced by a look of respect at Ryo's new powers. "Congratulations Ryo. It's rather difficult to make me use this skill as a wall like that."

Ryo watched on nervously as the spell neared. Although she had the utmost confidence in David from what she had witnessed from him thus far, she was still fearful of anything bad happening to him. When he called the spiked wall of crystals she was distracted by the beauty of their emergence from the ground and the way the Thunder spell's sparks reflected off of them. But when the wall came up so close to her she jumped back out of instinct and fell back from being caught off guard.
She looked on as the wall absorbed the spell and needed to remind herself not to touch the crystal as the gorgeous dancing of light was shown one last time. Once everything was safe she stupor up and brushed off her pants, all the while grinning from David's compliment. "Heh, guess I'm still the natural I was when I was a kid," she said in such an obviously smug tone. But she caught herself afterwards and blushed feintly while letting out a small chuckle. "Sorry, sometimes I let things get to my head."

David chuckled softly alongside Ryo, then spoke up again. "It's fine to boast. Just keep in mind," he wrapped himself in the purple aura of his Twilight Augmentation, "there will always be someone better than you." He vaulted off of the crystals ten feet into the air, his keyblade shining brightly as his Lightblade ability was triggered, then threw the blade about ten feet to Ryo's left. The keyblade stood upright in the ground until David called out after landing on the roof. "Light Nova!"
The glow from within the crystal blade grew brighter and brighter, until each colored shard seemed surrounded by Light. Then it grew brighter still, and the keyblade cracked and shattered. An explosion of Light five feet across lit the cave, then the crystal shards vanished. David grinned in satisfaction as he jumped back down next to Ryo, hands empty. "That's a new skill I've been working on. The Shattered Sunset literally explodes from the amount of energy I put in. It works with Darkness too, and I doubt anyone else can do it. Any other keyblade would be destroyed for good if they tried."

Ryo looked on in wonderment as David engulfed himself in his aura. When his keyblade began to glow she studied it carefully, but when it exploded she held her arm and sword in front of her. As if sensing the potential danger, the axe-shaped shield flew on its own to block Ryo from any possible shrattnel. When all was said and done, Ryo looked up at David, looking as though she were to say something, but was suddenly distracted by seeing the shield strapped to her left arm. "Wow, well first off: what you just did was awesome. But what happens to your keyblade? Aren't you worried it'll get destroyed for good? And second: I'm both intrigued and kinda creeper out now," she said while slowly turning her arm over to study the heavy shield. "It's never done that before."

David glanced at Ryo's shield oddly when it suddenly flew out to protect her. He couldn't see anything out of the ordinary though, so he decided to answer her questions instead. "The Shattered Sunset ends up as a pile of crystal shards after the Nova is used, but my keyblade is rather unique." He summoned the blade, currently fragmented and, oddly enough, all purple.
"Back before I got my keyblade I used an amethyst blade, but about a year ago it shattered just after I made it to the ruins of my home. I tried to reforge the sword using Twilight, but something else happened instead." He held his hands out and the crystals started to glow faintly while rising into a sword like shape. "My keyblade is formed from the fragments of that amethyst blade, and as long as I'm its wielder," with a flash, the Shattered Sunset was whole in his hand again, with all the colors intact, "it can never be destroyed."

Ryo took a few steps closer to get a better look at the fragmented weapon. After watching it repair itself back to its original form she let out a low whistle. "Whoa, now that's a weapon you can bet your life on. Heh, I can only imagine the look on your opponent's face when you use that attack," she said with a grin. But soon her grin slowly fell as she looked about the cavern. "Soooo... what are we to do now? I mean, I guess the better question is what are you going to do now? I'm sure there are a lot of things you have to take care of now, like your sister and friend."

David nodded as his grin grew a little, then dismissed his keyblade. "Yeah, I haven't met anyone yet that has heard of a wielder creating their own keyblade, or one that can recreate it whenever they need to." His grin slipped as Ryo mentioned Jennifer and Jason and he remembered what he had originally planned to do. "They can take care of themselves, but I'm a little worried about what they could get up to without me. Jennifer loves to pull pranks, and it wouldn't surprise me if Jason decided to help if he was bored enough."
He paused for a moment, apparently thinking about something, then looked back at Ryo. "You can get just about anywhere from this world, provided you can find someone to take you there. Olympus Colosseum is a good place to train, they've got lots of tournaments there. If you go, tell Phil that you know the Angelic Archer Ziya, and he should let you in. That's my sister, and I'll tell her about you when I get back." His grin returned as he glanced up at the ceiling. "Who knows, maybe your friend is there."

Ryo started to perk up when David mentioned the Olympus Coliseum. She had longed for a proper place to train and meet other competitors to befriend and train with. For once she would be going to a new world of her own choosing and she would finally have some feeling of control over this whole mess. Plus the possibility of finding her only friend was more than enough to make up her mind.
She gave a nod of her head as she glanced around, taking a moment to think about her next move. "Well, I guess I just need to find someone willing to take me. The coliseum sounds like a good place to start and I'll be sure to mention Angelic Archer Ziya to this Phil fellow. And David...thank you. You've done more for me in last 12 hours than anyone has done since I lost my parents. I owe you a great deal for all your help and kindness."

David nodded once more, sympathy showing on his face. "I lost my parents too, so I can understand. I can do one more thing for you though." He concentrated for a moment on forming a mental image of the plaza in front of the coliseum proper, then threw his arm to the side. A swirling Corridor of Darkness appeared there, right against the wall of the old house. "This will lead straight to Olympus Coliseum. I've set it to disappear once you make it through, but there are quite a few travelers there at any one time."
He focused again, this time on his base on Radiant Garden, and another Corridor appeared at the edge of the island. He stepped toward it, then looked back over his shoulder at Ryo. "Right, almost forgot." He dug out a small phone and tossed it to her. "That's a nifty invention I came up with. It can contact any other like it no matter where they are, and they can find each other too. Call if you need help." With that, he walked through his own Corridor, which vanished a few seconds later.

Ryo's eyes widened at the sight of the corridor opening to her next destination. Before she knew what to say, David tossed her the phone and she caught it in both hands. As he explained what it did she looked it over carefully before looking back up to him. "I sure will, David. Thank you again."
She was thankful he had left just after that too. Ryo never liked crying in front of others and she felt the tears welling up in her eyes. As she wiped them away with the back of her forearm, she took a deep breath and strode through the corridor of darkness. It was a feeling all too familiar. This was what it had been like when she lost her two worlds. But this time she wasn't afraid of what waited for her on the other side.
