[OOC: This is sort of connected to a plot I wanna do, but it's just the very start of it, so don't worry; I'm not suddenly gonna spring any weird plot things on anybody who joins! If anyone wants to get involved, please just jump right on in; and if anyone wants to know a bit more about the plot at any time, just lemme know~]
In the gentle, peaceful town of Hollow Bastion, a young woman of twenty was sitting on the ground and reading quietly to herself. Nestled comfortably beside one of the stalls in the marketplace - not realizing in the slightest that she was looking slightly bizarre, or that people would occasionally steal a confused or worried glance at her - Xamakan just continued on reading her book, sitting cross-legged on the stone ground and looking completely enraptured by whatever it was.
To be honest, Xamakan didn't care much for books that weren't fiction; she thought they were 'too boring' and 'too confusing.' (Though to be fair, Xamakan was known for being confused by her own reflection on at least one occasion, so that wasn't saying much.) But earlier this morning, she'd taken a desire to learn a little more about the world she lived in, and the other worlds out there, and so she'd taken herself to find some books and bribed herself into reading them with the promise of pizza afterward.
However, as she sat with her face firmly in her book, eyes wide with excitement and mouth hanging slightly open, all thoughts of pizza were gone from the Nobody's mind. The book was a recounting of various things from various worlds, as written by a witch who had once lived in Hollow Bastion. Xamakan had no idea that the real world could be so interesting! Seemingly there were worlds out there with caves shaped like lions' heads, worlds out there with heart-shaped moons made of hearts; fancy swords shaped like keys - something a little like the girl she'd met in Twilight Town's, actually! - and shiny, pretty things that were seemingly very powerful things... The girl's head was practically spinning, but she liked it.
Xamakan licked her thumb and flipped the page, having just finished the old witch's retelling of her visit to an ancient, shadowy planet, and read on. Dreamily, the Nobody sighed in her mind. I am totally gonna see all this someday! An' then I'll write a book about it an' another girl'll read it, an' then she'll see stuff an' write a book about that, an' then another girl'll read that, an'...
And so went the girl's thought process, as she read on further to a passage about the very world she was on now.
