David could tell that Kairi was confused by his story, but he was just as puzzled. He was grateful for her sentiments though. "Thanks. Truth be told, I don't have too many fond memories of my time there, but I wish that everyone else had made it out as well." Suddenly he noticed Kairi looking over the edge and laughing. He got there quickly enough to see the Heartless getting up, but that was not what his chuckles were for. "Rule number one of adventuring: never tempt fate. Those four are weak, but I seriously doubt they're alone. The only Heartless intelligent enough to create an ambush are the more powerful ones too. He couldn't even sense those four Heartless next to Kairi's Light, and that made him very nervous inside.

She rolled her eyes. "I never knew adventuring had rules." She said before calmly starting to walk down towards the middle of the district. "Well.. There's only one way we'll find out." She said with a smile, preparing to show off. She made her keyblade appear and immediately after it did she flung it straight at the heartless, it easily took out all the weaker ones in its path, but the large body turned just in time for her weapon to harmlessly bounce off it's stomach. She saw it ricochet off of a wall and land on the other side of the field. She blinked and quickly held her hand out, summoning it back to her hand quickly, she turned to David and waved. "I meant to do that!" She said, the heartless now knowing where she was, but she did not care. She knew this kind were only trouble when they were mad, plus it was not like it was big enough to run over and get her.

David rolled his eyes at Kairi's unconcerned actions, though the motion was hidden as he summoned his armor again. Still, the best way to stop a trap was to knowingly spring it, so he jumped over the low wall into the plaza and joined her. The Large Body didn't seem to be unusually hostile, though it was moving toward them slowly. "These guys can charge from a surprising distance sometimes." Sure enough, the Heartless started glowing slightly before careening toward them.
David just tapped the ground with the tip of Shattered Sunset and calmly spoke two words. "Crystal Genesis" The ground rumbled for a second before the crystal spikes erupted from the point of contact, rushing straight for the Large Body. The Heartless bounced off of them a few feet away, but the spikes continued appearing until the line was ten feet long. The result was that the Large Body was skewered by crystal as it fell back from its original impact. "They can be annoying when they start charging, but it's also their biggest weakness, since they can't turn well."

She blinked when he did that move and her jaw almost dropped, she wondered why he used such a powerful attack on a weak heartless though. "Hehe, think you can teach me that?" She said walking right into the middle of the area with him and looking around. "Well, that seems like all of them.." She said, sighing because Sora still was not around to pick her up, she took offence to this, thinking he thought that she needed a long time to deal with heartless here. "Well, maybe if you were alone.." She heard which made Kairi hmph. She made her keyblade disappear and put her hands behind her head, looking around still for any heartless.

David shook his head briefly as he turned back to Kairi, once again shouldering his keyblade. ”Sorry, but that skill is linked to the Shattered Sunset. Most of my skills come from the abilities I was born with, and can’t be taught either.” He surveyed the area looking for any more threats, and then dismissed his armor and keyblade when he found nothing. ”The only thing I could teach you is how to access the power of your heart, but you already can thanks to your keyblade.” In trith, he might have been able to teach her about auras and reiki, but her own magic was more effective at healing and it had taken him three months to see auras.

"Oh." She said, understanding. "Hm.." She said looking around some more and walking out into the middle of the district before smiling. "Looks like we got them all, that's all I was sent to do today." She said walking towards the door for the first district. "Want to talk while I wait for my ship?" She asked the guy who beat most of the heartless, now knowing she would remember him, maybe if they ever had to do another battle with keyblade users against darkness, she was starting to notice that more were popping up since she got hers.

David adopted a more casual pose, his hands in the pockets of his jacket as he nodded and followed Kairi. "Sure, that sounds good. I'm a little surprised nothing else showed up though. Most of the time there are several waves here in the Third District." He fell silent for a moment as he considered the possible reasons. "Maybe those Assault Riders and Invisibles were the rest of what's normally here."

She shrugged. "Not sure. Maybe they were all going towards the second district to attack the town." She giggled. "We're heroes." She said walking into the first district, sitting on a bench and stretching. She heard a giggle. "What's so funny?" She asked her nobody. "Imagining you in a cape." They both chuckled a little, another odd moment for anyone who could not read her mind.

David chuckled alongside Kairi as the joined her on the bench, though he made sure to leave a little space between them. "Heroes huh? Well I'm a Hero, but you..." His chuckles grew into a full bodied laugh before quieting a moment later. "Sorry Kairi, but I think you're still at the Junior Hero level. Don't worry too much though. It takes something incredible to jump that gap." He was being vague on purpose, but if she asked, then he'd tell his tale.
