The stars shone bright above Traverse Town's First District that day; same as they did every day, never seeming to give way to the sun or the bright skies of daytime. Standing near the large door leading into the town, Sirene's blue eyes gazed at the perpetual night sky, twinkling with interest. 'A world without any sunlight... That's so unusual. I wonder if the people are different 'cause of it,' she thought with a smile, her head in a excited whirl trying to figure it all out. She hadn't set out from her homeworld that long ago, so the new sights and things of all the new worlds just made her heart soar. (Or it would have, if she actually had one.)
A dry 'tut' sounded in the program's mind, and she closed her eyes and cringed. She didn't want any input from her other side at the moment... 'It's not that damn special, you know. Different worlds, different laws; it's that easy. They'll probably just look like any other average joe back home.' The voice in her head - her other personality, not-so-affectionately dubbed 'Dark Sirene' by Sirene herself - wasn't as high-pitched or innocent as her own; rather, it was more mature-sounding and most times in a mocking singsong.
Sirene opened her eyes, focused them solely on the sky, and clasped her hands behind her. 'It's still special to me,' she thought back, allowing her smile to return. Her other side seemed docile at the moment, so she let herself relax a bit. 'Don't you think it's really interesting, how these worlds are all so different?'
'Heh heh. You give me half a day with 'em, I'll show ya 'interesting,'' Dark Sirene snickered, imagining herself laying waste to this pretty little town and making the people scream, running around in fear only to fall by her poisoned darts. They'd think that they'd be safe, but then the lovely song would come to lull them to sleep, and then the sharp end of a Flying V through their chest--
Sirene shook her head rapidly to clear the images, hands moving to clasp at her headphone-covered ears despite how futile the move was. She was glad that she was fairly far away from the people in the plaza; she didn't imagine that she would be a normal sight to anyone right now. 'Stop it! Enough! I don't want to think about that,' she shouted in her head. Unlike her other personality - which wouldn't even be there if it wasn't for that one malicious program she'd met at home - she valued life and wanted to protect it. She had been created to heal things and make them feel better, so her other side's fondness for destruction never failed to frighten her.
Thankfully, for once, Dark Sirene actually seemed to listen when she was told to stop. She gave another cruel, mocking laugh, then sighed happily and changed the subject. 'Right then. You ready to get on the move, sweetheart?'
With the images of fire and death gone from her mind, the blue-eyed program gave a sigh of relief and returned her thoughts to where they were actually meant to be: on looking for that program who'd changed her; the one called 'Shrike.' She slowly unclasped her head, letting her arms fall back to her sides as her eyes scanned the area; there were quite a few people around, men, women and children alike, but nothing that looked like a program... From what she could see, the only thing around that didn't look to be 'normal' was, well, herself. That was alright, though; she could just ask around, see if anyone knew anything about Shrike. And failing that, there was still a town to explore!
'Yes, let's go. We'll explore the town and talk to some locals... Please remember that's only explore and talk, by the way,' Sirene warned her other side as she began to walk further into the plaza. (Unfortunately, given that her voice generally couldn't raise past 'gentle and polite' - even in her mind - under normal circumstances, the 'warning' didn't come off very threatening in anyone's book.)
'Ooh, I'm so scaaaared; I'd never go against you after thaaaat,' Dark Sirene drawled sarcastically, chuckling even though she was being ignored. She had her own ideas for this little place... but for now, she'd just keep quiet and let the goodie-two-shoes have her adventure.

Kairi was in Traverse Town because.. Well, it was the only place without really strong heartless. She still liked to relax here and then, get away from training in Master Yen Sid's tower, and despite what Donald was saying, no, the universe did not depend on one day. She was currently relaxing on a bench in the first district with a drink in her hand. She thought it could be hot chocolate. She could not understand the duck triplets while they sold it to her. She smiled, glad to have a day off, everyone else seemed to be happy as well, except one girl was staring at everyone for a few seconds. "That's... Strange..." She said raising a brow, hoping she did not mean trouble, or was not looking for someone on this world that meant trouble.

Sirene had walked around the town's first district and gathered a few pieces of interesting information along the way; seemingly this world was called Traverse Town, it was home to people who had lost their worlds... and there was a shop ran by three friendly ducks.
Now, the program was walking around with three bags full of potions and ethers; she didn't need them, but apparently there had been some kind of communication error with the three ducks and, well, somehow the phrase "have any of you seen a program in red around here?" had managed to cost her 2,000 munny. 'Oh well, at least I helped out some little ducks...' she thought with a smile.
'You also lost every penny we had and got swindled by three animals,' Dark Sirene deadpanned in their mind, unimpressed by her good side's soft, doormat-like nature.
Sirene paid no mind to her, as she began to look around again. 'Well, I guess it's back to the search!' Immediately in front of her was someone she knew she hadn't asked yet; a fairly young-looking girl with red hair, sitting on a bench. The thought crossed her mind that the girl looked slightly different to some of the other people in town; then again, everyone looked different to each other around here. Given that this place was a refuge for people who'd lost their worlds, she supposed that made sense.
The program went across to where the girl sat - not too fast, in the interest of not looking any creepier than she had to - and stopped a few feet away from her. "Excuse me?" Sirene began, clasping her hands in front of her. "I'm really sorry to disturb you, miss, but I was hoping to ask you a question. You... wouldn't happen to have seen a person in black and red anywhere around here? He answers to the name 'Shrike,'" she explained gently, though her blue eyes narrowed just a little bit at the name.

She saw the girl walk up to her and was already almost finished with her drink when she did and thought for a few seconds. "No, can't say I did. Is he a friend of yours?" She asked, sensing some tension as she said his name, already anticipating the answer. She also noticed the amount of items she was carrying and made a quick guess that this guy was her worst enemy and she was preparing for the horrible final battle between good and evil (let's face it, black and red never said 'good guy' that often anyways). "Wow, already figuring all that out. Vexen would be proud." "Vexen? Wasn't he from Organization XII?" She internally asked her nobody after she spoke, she got a mental image of Namine nodding. "Yes, he was scientist, when I was in Castle Oblivion I heard him go on and on about reconnaissance and the important things to look for and ugggh..." Kairi got a mental image of her shaking her head. "I'm so happy I never have to hear that ever again.." And this made the red haired girl get a little smile, which may be off to the other girl who most likely had never experienced internal dialogue.

Sirene ever-so-slightly slumped a little when the red-headed girl mentioned that she hadn't seen Shrike. 'Oh well, it was worth asking anyway. Never know when a lead might come up,' she mentally said to herself, trying to look on the bright side. When she thought about the girl's question, though, a slight shudder ran through her. "Definitely not a friend, no," she shook her head a bit. "He's, uh... someone I want to bring to justice," she eventually said after a bit of thought, figuring that was the best way to put it without coming off too strange.
'Oh yeah,' Dark Sirene's sarcastically cheerful, amused voice came, prompting a slight scowl to form on the program's face. ''I want to bring the guy to justice!' That's a perfectly normal, regular thing to say, hun.'
'Well, I couldn't think of any better way to phrase it,' Sirene mentally responded, all the while trying to form a decent follow-up sentence to the red-headed girl. Finally, she reckoned she had a decent one, and she opened her mouth with a smile to say it--
--only to be interrupted by her other self talking in their mind again. 'You didn't have to 'phrase' anything, silly,' she said in a condescending tone. 'The simplest course of action, m'dear, would have been an 'oh right, well in that case I'll just be going then, have a nice life or whatever.' No need to get into pointless conversation with the random chick when you're on a mission.'
Sirene closed her eyes and drew a deep breath to calm herself; she didn't like to admit it - particularly since she didn't want to give Dark Sirene the satisfaction - but her other self really could get on her nerves sometimes, even just by talking. 'Okay, thank you for the lesson. Now, if you'll kindly just quieten yourself for a minute and let me speak to the young lady--'
'Ugh. Remind me again why you have to speak to the 'young lady'? As far as I'm concerned, if we're not gonna fight her, she's useless to us.'
"Can you just be quiet," the blue-eyed program accidentally hissed out loud, her patience with the voice inside her head officially completely and utterly at an end. As soon as she'd said it, though, her eyes widened in realization and she clapped a hand over her mouth. "U-uh, I didn't mean that to you, miss!" she quickly said to the red-haired girl, before smiling bashfully and running her hand through her hair. "I'm very sorry..."
In her head, Dark Sirene chuckled lightly. 'Works every time...' she murmured, thinking fondly of every other time she'd managed to bait her dopey other self into shouting at an invisible person and looking, no doubt, like a crazy person. It was a pastime she found immensely fun.
Sirene closed her eyes and grimaced a bit, once again returning to ignoring Dark Sirene's never-ending voice as she smiled at the redhead again. "I'm really sorry to have bothered you. I'll let you get back to what you were doing now," she said, giving a respectful bow and turning to leave, before suddenly something came to her head. "Oh, wait!" She turned back around to the girl and held up one of the bags she held. "I... couldn't happen to interest you in some potions and hi-ethers, could I? I spoke to some ducks and somehow managed to come away with a whole lot of them," she trailed off, sadly lamenting her lost 2,000 munny. She didn't really have much need for the stuff, but she knew it was a good thing to have around; and to have lost so much of it without entirely knowing how was rather disheartening.

Kairi was starting to KNOW something was off with his girl, were it seemed rather normal she needed to "bring him to justice" though, Kairi can respect some people were evil and she probably had a good reason, unless she was evil. Kairi was trying her hardest to not feel compelled to do anything since this was her day off. But when the other girl seemed to be filling every second she was not talking to Kairi with either heavy thought, internal dialogue, or conversation with someone using her mind. During one of the most recent times this seemed to be happening she let out a bitter comment about being quiet, Kairi had not talked yet so she sensed something was up. "It's alright.." She said nicely, silently trying to piece together this puzzle, then she noticed the girl motioning towards her bags of items and nodded when she heard her speak, giving a friendly smile.. No matter how wierd the evidence looked, Kairi just did not FEEL like this girl was bad or anything, heck, from just talking to her she wanted to be her friend. "I can buy a few ethers off of you, let me see how much I have.." She said unzipping one of her pockets and taking out a small bag she used to hold her munny.
