'Oh, that was almost disappointingly easy!'
In a large, open area of the Grid, Dark Sirene stood with her guitar in her hand, looking down at the floor where four programs were kneeling, as if they were the servants and she was their monarch. Dark Sirene, the only one in red in amongst all the blue-circuited programs, had a smirk on her face as she slowly walked back and forth in front of them, noting how they didn't even dare to raise their heads unless she told them to. 'I guess my enticement song must've worked on them particularly strongly. Heh, the poor dopey things!'
Three of the programs were male, and currently suffering from a heavy dose of infatuation, while one was female and seemed star-struck rather than romantically interested, as if Dark Sirene were a celebrity and she was her biggest fan. All of them were on their knees on the Grid's floor, staring down until told otherwise.
'That's enough,' Sirene's regular personality tried to reason with her darker self. 'You've already made them think they love you; this fight's over, they won't bother us anymore! Let's just move on, okay...?'
Dark Sirene rolled her red eyes, smirking still. 'But if we 'move on,' they won't have their cherished queen anymore!' she protested, feigning a care for the four programs. 'That would be just too cruel. Better to stay here and watch their pathetic little selves a little longer! Maybe I could get them to come with me, make sure nobody else gets in my way--'
'No, just stop it,' Sirene protested back; unlike her dark self, she actually did care about other people, and she thought the fact that the programs were afflicted with such emotion against their will was horrifying. 'You don't even have a reason for doing this! Just leave them to get better! We have a search to go on, after all...'
'Oh, right. That.' Having remembered what she was actually here for, Dark Sirene pulled herself from her fun and turned to her 'servants.' "Well, it's been fun, but here's where I leave you," she said easily, turning and waving a hand over her shoulder.
The programs each stood up. "B-But, my lady!" one of the males argued. "What will we do without you?!"
"I had so many questions to ask you!" the female shouted.
"I wanted to be with you forever!" another male called.
Dark Sirene almost burst out laughing. "If you don't want to feel this pain again, don't be so quick to get up in unknown programs' faces. Let your heartache - not that you even have hearts, you pathetic things, you - be your punishment for picking fights with me!" she ended her sentence in a singsong tone, before walking off, leaving four distraught programs. It momentarily upset her that the effect would wear off at some point and they wouldn't be distraught forever, but what could you do?
'Right, then...' the program's face went serious, and she began to look around from side to side. 'Onto my actual business here. Time to get searching...'

There was a program in an area nearby who had not installed any combat programs in himself. Watching the scene via binoculars, Shrike winced. Sirene was a powerful program, especially with her darker side. It would be a difficult assignment bringing her down. Yet he would have to do it. Now seemed to be the best time to do so. But he had no actual abilities. Still he supposed hand to hand combat would have to do against her anyway. With that in mind he approached the program known as Sirene while she was looking for him.
"You know, it's impolite to sing and run from your audience."
Currently Shrike was in his neutral form unlike Sirene, and was in a more compassionate mood. Yet he had decided that a more direct way was needed to deal with her. For she was someone who would be a threat to his life and liberty. Thus he had of course to deal with the threat as soon as he possibly could. This brought him to his current situation, standing in a combat stance in front of her and blocking her path.
"Plus, I believe it's time I took you down."

"You know, it's impolite to sing and run from your audience."
"Eh?" Dark Sirene had been looking around so much that she didn't see anyone come up in front of her. Quickly turning her eyes front, she stopped her walking and found her eyes widening in pleasant surprise at the sight; it was the very program she'd been searching for. Something about him seemed off, though; he looked different when she'd encountered him, and he seemed... more malicious then. But there was no mistaking it, he was the same guy. 'Alright!' the program's face broke out into a dark grin. 'I had a lot I wanted to say to you, mister.'
In their mind, Sirene's regular personality attempted to take over with a force that Dark Sirene wasn't used to; their eyes and clothing momentarily flashed blue, before settling back to their red colour. 'Let me out!' Sirene cried out. 'Let me out so I can talk to that monster! Let me out so I can stop him!!'
Dark Sirene placed a hand to her forehead, slightly shaken after almost being forced into dormancy, before she regained her usual cocky demeanour. 'Now, now, you're being rude. I'll go first; after all, you're not the only one with stuff to say.'
"Plus, I believe it's time I took you down."
Dark Sirene frowned a bit, looking back to Shrike. He was in a combat stance, and he was talking about 'taking her down'... The dark side only really wanted to find him to say 'thank you' for giving her existence; it was the other one's desire to see him defeated or, as she put it, 'brought to justice.' But what was his reason for wanting to 'take her down'? She didn't understand it.
"Well, well, we must be feeling rude today," Dark Sirene said teasingly. "I spend all this time looking for you and you want to fight me." Putting Flying Victory in her right hand, the program leaned forward slightly, red eyes staring at Shrike as she frowned a bit. "What's your problem, anyway?"
'Was changing my personality and ruining my life not enough for you?' Sirene mumbled in their mind, though she knew Shrike couldn't hear her. 'Please, be careful. We don't know what he's capable of, so be on your guard... I might hate you, but I hate him even more, so I don't want to see him beat you!'
Dark Sirene blinked, before she chuckled a bit. 'That's the first nice thing you've ever said to me! Oh, how sweet, we're finally getting along,' she cooed sarcastically. 'Don't worry, though; no-one's gonna beat me. There isn't any getting rid of me. Come on, you ought to know that!' she added cruelly, before returning her attention to Shrike.

When Dark Sirene looked at him there were two distinct personalities in his head. And both of them were in about the most heated disagreement that could possibly exist. The neutral one wanted to fight Sirene. "Let me pummel her." The darker side of Shrike, the default wanted to hear her out, and so struggled against the neutral side who was in charge. Finally after about 2 minutes of a struggle, the dark side of Shrike took control in a rather forceful manner. Finally he said. "Sorry about that. I like you have multiple personality disorder, and my neutral side hates my creation, you Dark Sirene. It's a problem that I deal with on a regular basis, and have been trying to learn to live with. In addition to that, neither he nor myself could agree on any attack routines to add to ourselves yet. So if we fight... it will have to be later."

Dark Sirene watched with interest, as Shrike began to struggle in a way that looked relatively familiar to her by now. 'It's like he's fighting with himself the way I do! How interesting.'
'But why in the world would he have to struggle?' Sirene questioned in their mind, honestly curious (and going out of her way not to remind her other self that he was fighting like 'they' did, not just like 'she' did.)
As it goes, they didn't have to wait long for an answer. There was an appearance change, and suddenly Shrike looked a lot more like Sirene and her other self remembered him.
'Please, let me out,' the real Sirene tried again, sounding darker than she usually did; of all the people she'd ever met, Shrike was the only one who she really, truly hated. 'He's the only one I can't forgive... I need to stop him before he ruins any other programs like he ruined me.'
Dark Sirene folded her arms and rolled her eyes. 'Improved, Siri. He improved you. Get your words right, sweetie.'
The program was so busy talking to herself that she almost didn't catch what Shrike said; she tuned back in around about the time that he mentioned 'his neutral side' hating his creation, his creation obviously being Dark Sirene herself. When Shrike finished talking, Dark Sirene tilted her head a bit and frowned; she didn't know that he had the same problem she did, and she really didn't expect him to have no 'attack routines.' "So what you're saying is... that you're basically powerless at the moment," Dark Sirene summarized, not sounding cruel, more as if she were just stating a fact. "Heh heh. I'll admit, I've wanted to meet you in person for quite a long time now. Of all the scenarios that went through my head, you being totally powerless wasn't one of 'em."
She was about to say something else, but she felt a strange kind of upset coming from her other self. Sighing a bit, Dark Sirene held up a finger. "'Scuse me a moment. I'm not done with you yet, but... well, I've got to talk to 'the other one.' You know how it is," she shrugged a bit, before speaking to her original self in their mind. 'Oh, what is it?! First you were feeling all angry and 'let's-go-get-him,' now you're moping around? Seriously, you need to get a hold of yourself.'
For a moment, Sirene didn't say anything back, before she finally sighed. 'If he's totally powerless at the moment, I couldn't fight him...' she said sadly. 'I know what he did to me was terrible, and I don't want him doing it to anybody else, but I couldn't fight a defenceless opponent.'
Dark Sirene sighed exasperatedly out loud, placing a hand to her forehead and shaking her head. 'You're so weak. If you want something dead, you should just kill it, regardless of if it's 'defenceless' or not.'
'Well, I can't kill defenceless people the way you can!' Sirene replied, sounding for all the world like she'd be crying if she had control of the body. 'But he's evil, and I hate him... I don't know what to do.'
'Well, whatever. You worry about that for a while; I've got a conversation to hold. Bye.'
The program returned her attention to Shrike, smiling a bit. "Sorry about that. The other self just needed a little comforting... so I did what any evil half would do and made her feel worse," she chuckled nastily. "But anyway, that aside. Believe it or not... I'm not actually interested in fighting you." To prove her point, she held up Flying Victory in her right hand and made it disappear. Looking at Shrike, she took a few steps forward. "As a matter of fact, my intent toward you is entirely different to my soft little other self. She wants to kill you - or hurt you, or imprison you... I don't know, I don't really listen to her when she talks - but I, seeing things differently, don't want that." A smile slipped across her face. "I'd rather say 'thank you.' You know, for giving me life and allowing me to make sad little Sirene's little life a whole lot more interesting," she chuckled again.
'You do not make my life more interesting; you make it a misery,' Sirene piped up quietly in their mind.
'Whatever, Siri; at least I can actually get what I want, and not chicken out before I can take it...'
Sirene's voice tapered out into a defeated whimper, and Dark Sirene smirked triumphantly. She returned her attention to Shrike and said, "That's pretty much all I got to say... though I ought to tell you. My other half hates you, everything ya stand for, and probably the ground you walk on; very uncharacteristic of her, so you must've ticked her off a fair bit," she mentioned conversationally, almost as if she were talking to a friend. "I don't have a problem with you - like I said, I'm grateful! - but at some point, you might have to deal with her. You know, whenever she makes up her mind about what she actually wants to do about you," she added. She wanted to ask about how he got his split personality, but she didn't exactly feel it was the right time to ask a question like that.

"Wow, your other side must really have temper issues. You know it's unhealthy for her to hold such grudges, over a long period of time. Due to that, you should probably enroll in some anger management classes." Shrike was not saying this out of malice, but out of concern for Dark Sirene. For he didn't want her burdened with a volatile time bomb. Pausing for a moment Shrike considered his present options. Due to not possessing any "Attack Routines" or special abilities, he couldn't do what the regular side of Sirene wanted and engage her in combat. For that reason he'd have to hold back from fighting her presently. Adding some decent attack routines was going to be difficult when neither personality could agree.
"Do you have any suggestions for abilities to program into myself?"
