Tori struggled for air as she landed back on the ground, her stamina getting drained after her dash against the 2nd Malboro.
"Only one left" she reassured, gasping a bit, "You're doing good on your own, though, wolf-boy" she teased.
She turned around, and flinched. The last Malboro had slowly crept behind them, and readied its Bad Breath. Tori tried to pull back, but it was a bit too late. The Malboro used its breath, and Tori was caught in it. She managed to get out after forcing herself to roll back, but she quickly felt sick after the stinking, foul breath. She groaned, and aimed at the Malboro to unlesh a Ruinga spell on it, to at least get some distance from it.
"Dammit..." she said, trying to avoid throwing up, "I got careless..." --- After using its Bad Breath, the Malboro went in for an attack on Tori, but was drawn back by the light explosions by a bit, and was unable to attack. The spell, however, didn't weaken it as much, since Tori wasn't exactly on optimal conditions to control her magic.

A few yards away a Corridor of Darkness opened, only it was a few feet above the ground and tilted oddly, as the occupants found out the hard way by tumbling through. As they stood and dusted themselves off Lucia turned to her sister with a sigh. "Sis, next time let one of us make the Corridor. I know it's impressive you can do it at all, but you still suck at it." As the two began to argue Jason looked around, quickly noting the unfamiliar landscape as well as the nearby fight. "Hey, we've got problems! This isn't home, and there's Malboros over there fighting someone!" The other two spun on a dime, all three of them summoning their armor as they ran over to the pair.
Lucia glanced around at the auras she saw, showing that one seemed to be holding his own, but the other seemed to have taken a hit of Bad Breath. Jen, help her out!" She continued past the others, summoning the Requiem's Resolve before bringing it crashing to the ground with a cry of "Crystal Genesis!" The ground rumbled for a few seconds before a wave of diamond hard spikes shot out toward the beast, hopefully impaling it or at least putting some distance between them.
Jennifer channeled Fire into her left hand and Light into her right before clapping the two together to create a pure white flame. Light Mage: Holy Firaga!" Three ten inch wide fireballs shot out, one targeting each of the Malboros with the final one headed toward the girl, where it would get rid of any ailments the Bad Breath had afflicted.
Finally Jason channeled his Darkness to create a Doppelganger clone of himself. The two dashed forward in perfect sync wrapping more Darkness around their Nightblades before slashing out with Dusk Slicers, sending two sickles flying at each of the Malboros before coming to a stop next to the others, the original giving the girl a grin. "Don't worry, we're here to help."

Tori groaned, and stood up as a strange fireball dissapear near her. The sickness soon seemed to go away, and, grabbing firmly onto her blade, she sighed.
"Hey, wolf-boy!" she yelled at Conrí, "When you're fighting in pairs, you're supposed to look after your partners, as well!"
She then looked at a boy, grinning at her, and she smirked back. She then looked back at the 4 Malboros, defeated and laying on the ground. She noticed something growing on one of them, and, with the help of her blade, pulled it out: a Malboro Flower. She tossed it at Conrí, with a teasing smile.
"That sells for a lot of gil. You oughtta make sure you don't get scammed, though" Tori said, "If it's lower to 5 thousand gil, get away from them."
Tori looked at the recently arrived trio, still smirking a bit. She had to recognize their strength, something she'd been looking for every moment of her life.
"You guys didn't plan on coming here, did you?" she asked, and sighed, "In any case, thanks for the helping hand. I'm Tori" she introduced herself, "Glad to make your acquaintance."

The wolf-boy watched the second Malboro fall and breathed a sigh of relief when Tori said there was only one more. However, he sensed danger from behind, and as the third creature readied its breath, Conrí instinctively moved out of its way. He cursed a bit when he noticed that Tori had been caught in the foul breath.
Conrí had readied two Panaceas, but someone coming out of a portal and obliterating the Malboros distracted him. He cleared his throat, and said he was sorry to Tori. "I'm glad you're feeling better, though, I should have been faster." He shifted his gaze to the newcomers, who claimed they were here to help. The would be wolf king sighed and dismissed his form and allowed Fenrir to return to his realm. Tori wasn't seeming to go on the defense, so, he'd at least try not to.
"I guess we'll sort out the marks later? That portal was kind of like the one that brought me here in my dreams, Tori. Also, I don't mind if you call me wolf boy, but, the less these people know about me, perhaps the better. So, in front of them, could you please call me by my name?" He whispered to her as he took the strange looking flower and took note of her words regarding the price.
The would be wolf-king looked at the trio and decided to follow Tori's lead. "Conrí Niall," he said with a short bow. "Thanks for the assistance." Though we were handling it...
Just be grateful that they helped.
Yeah, I know. Just...how did they get here?

Tori chuckled, and grabbed Conrí by his ear.
"Well, what's done it's gone" she replied, "That's what Neku says usually. So I guess I'll let this one slide, since it's not exactly your fault. Though I am doing to do this!" she pulled a bit more of his ear, "Also, why so scared of them?" she asked.
She let go after a while, and looked at the trio. Her attitude was a bit sassy, and firm, seeing that those weren't original from the world.
"So? Wanna answer why you're here?" she asked them, "This place is quite unique. So I guess it's better if you start saying each and every word. I won't take 'No' for an answer, mind you" Tori threatened with a smirk, "So... Hand over the info, and this'll go smoothly like butter."

Lucia smiled and dismissed her keyblade and armor before she introduced them, gesturing to each in turn as she went. She chose to ignore the threat, confident in her and her companion's skills. "Nice to meet both of you. I'm Lucia, this is my sister Jennifer and our best friend Jason. We're a mercenary and Heartless extermination group that operates out of Radiant Garden called the Twilight Brigade. We got lost on the way home thanks to someone," she gave Jennifer a level look while she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, "insisting on making the portal home even though she can't actually manipulate Darkness at all."
Jason's Doppelganger and armor melted back into the Darkness as the fight ended, quickly adopting a more casual stance with a chuckle. "It's never dull around you two. At least we're on dry land this time!"
Jennifer blushed with embarrassment as her own armor vanished, revealing a light green shirt that by all reasoning should have shown up under her breastplate. Hoping to move on without more teasing she attempted to change the subject. "Anyhow, where are we? I don't recognize this world."

Tori listened to every word they said, and, as Jen asked about their world, she smiled.
"This is Sakura Island, the world where I live" she replied, "So, you came here by your own means. Does that mean you can leave by your own means, as well, or not? Because there are a few rules that will apply on y'all as soon as you step on town. Period."
Deep down, something bugged her about them. Manipulating darkness... Sounded intriguing, that was for sure. But something else, something Tori wasn't able to describe as rational or logical. It looked more like an instinct.
"So... You manipulate darkness, and yet you fight Heartless?" she asked, uneasy, "How does that work?"

Conrí resisted the urge to yip as Tori tugged on his ear. He instead chuckled slightly. "I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again. As for why I'm uneasy, that portal thing is what the people who invaded my world used," he kept his voice to a whisper. He sighed when the three made their weapons and armor vanish.
The wolf boy nodded when they introduced themselves. "Well met, indeed." So, if you don't know how to manipulate the darkness, then, the portal goes awry, but, that doesn't explain how one would have made me actually come here from a dream. He thought about asking one of the three if they had ever experienced something similar, but, Tori asked a question that also popped into his mind. Yes, after all, if they manipulate darkness, and, as we established, darkness is taking out worlds like mine and threatening this island, then, does that make them good or bad? Conrí looked at Tori for a moment, but didn't say what was on his mind.
Perhaps they are neither good or evil. Perhaps they are somewhere in between.
Kind of like Tori? Except, Tori doesn't use darkness, and, she's kind beneath the tough exterior.
I suppose you could make that comparison. More importantly, did you see that Lucia appeared to be using a blade similar to the one you tried to use here and back at our world?
Conrí bit his lip. So, in other words, try to make friends with her, at least, and see if they could help me home?
That is a line of logic that makes the most sense, don't you think?
But, I have a duty here. The Marks, Fenrir. I don't think training is something that can be rushed. Besides, I also need to prove myself to Tori.
Why must you make things difficult?
Please, let me hear them out. He cleared his throat, and said, crossing his arms over his chest, "Yes, how does that work? It seems counter intuitive."

Lucia opened her mouth to give her usual explanation, only to freeze when Jason placed his hand on her shoulder before taking the front. His usually cocky expression was more serious right now and his crimson eyes smoldered as he spoke. "So because the Heartless are evil, so is Darkness? Tell me, if a house burns down is all fire evil? If a tsunami destroys a city, should the entire ocean be shunned? Darkness is an Element, devoid of intent of it's own, and can be used for good or evil depending on the user."
Lucia sighed as he finished, adding her own explanation in the pause. "People on our original world are born with a single Element they can control, and that includes Darkness, like Jason, or Light, like Jennifer. That world fell to the Heartless nearly nine years ago now, and we've been fighting them ever since. It helps that I have a keyblade." She summoned her keyblade of crystal glass again to show them.

Tori nodded, and let it slide. Seeing that the boy was driven to the deffensive, Tori assumed that he was rather defendant of his element, that being Darkness.
"I never said that" she replied, shaking her head, "Sure, I might've assumed prematurely. But I never said that you were working with Heartless to begin with, crimson eyes" she smirked, teasing, "So chill for a second, and actually give a proper explanation next time."
She then sighed, and nudged for Conrí to follow her back, thinking that the trio wouldn't follow. But, just in case, she advised them to follow.
"Regardless if you can travel on your own or not, it's best if you come with us back to town. Or anywhere safe" she stated, "Killing Marks on your own can prove difficult, especially here. There's a Mark 6 running about, so you don't want to get caught with it."

People seem to get defensive around Tori. I wonder why that is. Conrí found himself studying Jason somewhat harshly. Not too harshly, though, because the other person's response came out as though he had read the wolf boy's mind. "Interesting," the would be king remarked when Lucia began to explain that everyone from their origin world could control an Element. "Then, if it's not too rude for me to ask, what element do you control, Lucia?" Why would they let the light wielder try to use a dark portal? The wolf boy smiled and scratched his head.
Because humans are idiots.
Fenrir. That's certainly your opinion, but, maybe there was a deeper reason to it than that.
Fenrir snuffed lightly.
Conrí noticed Tori nudge him, so he nodded and followed without saying anything. After Tori spoke and they'd moved slightly away from the newcomers, he whispered to Tori, "So, do we call it two or one, since they interfered? I'm trying my best to keep track. Those were a Mark 4, right?" He asked because he wanted a way to try gauging his power as he trained from here on out. Lucia had a Keyblade. Should I ask her about it? Do I bother you to the point that you want me to leave with them, if they can leave on their own? I don't want to turn my back on my duty here, though. Conrí tried forming the words with his mouth, but, his tongue got twisted, and his stomach tied in knots when he fought against the unwillingness to speak.

Jennifer smacked Jason lightly on the back of his head before speaking up herself. "Sorry about him, he's been through some rough times and gets defensive about this kind of stuff." Lucia grinned at the pair reassuringly before answering Conri's question. "Even among my people I'm a special case, called a Duality. I control both Light and Darkness, and combine them with my own power to create Twilight." She created a small orb of each element in her free hand, then combined them into one that matched her hair and eyes before reabsorbing it and dismissing her blade once more.
It wasn't that simple of course, but they didn't need to know her life story, or the trials and trauma she had gone through.
The trio followed their new companions, listening to their conversation with mild interest. Jason quickly came out of his mood as they walked, though he couldn't help but interject about the Marks. "Sorry, didn't know you needed to kill them alone. If that was a Mark 4 though, I doubt we'd have trouble with a Mark 6." Lucia and Jennifer grinned at his boast, though they did agree with him. "Just curious, what would a god capable of destroying an entire world be on that system?"

Seeing that the trio began to follow them intrigued Tori, and amused her even more as they asked about the Mark Ranking System. Seeing Jason and Lucia ask about it amused her even more, since that mean a potential show of knowledge.
"Well, you see..." she turned to Jason as she kept on walking, "Ranks go in a scale from 1 to 7. The higher the number is, the more complex it is to defeat a Mark. However..." she winked, "They don't go on number of strength, but in how much potential danger they can cause. Malboros are marked at Rank 4 because, if someone is surprised by them, they can inflict illnesses and things that are only treated with Panaceas or high-level white magic. A Rank 6, however... Can partially destroy the town we live in, if left rampant too long. If I remember correctly, they WERE going to announce a Raid for that mark..." Tori wondered aloud, and then turned to Lucia's question, "Are you worried some kind of demon or omnipotent being will come about?" she teased, "In any case, a threat like that would definitely be a Rank 7. Those are honestly really rare nowadays, but they come by from time to time. I'd have to ask some notes back home to tell you how often they come up."
As she explained, she saw the town, and immediately pulled her hood up before entering. She then looked at Conrí, who seemed uneasy about the Mark kill.
"You technically took out 2; the ones I distracted" she told him, "You still have that Malboro Flower? If you do, I think the petitioner is a Salve-Maker. You can make good money aside from the bounty. Let's go meet her." "Hey, there you are!" a voice called.
Tori looked forward. A boy with brown hair and a dark jacket ran towards them, and stopped his race as he found himself close. He looked at Tori, and then at the group behind her, with a frown.
"Two questions" he said, "Where were you, and who are they?" "If you don't rush things, we can get things sorted out, Neku" Tori replied, chuckling.

Conrí nodded as Lucia spoke. "A Duality, interesting." He smiled slightly. The wolf boy was no longer quite as suspicious of the newcomers, and wanted to learn more about them. Depending on what the Counsil told them, he might have time to learn from everyone here. The thought of training with all kinds of people gave him hope, but, he still really wanted to keep getting to know Tori better.
The would be wolf king tried not to smile too much when Tori told him that he had, in fact with her help, taken out two of the Marks. "Okay, great. Forty eight more to go. Thank you for helping me out. I had fun." Conrí resisted the urge to shout, "I will be in that raid!" when Tori had mentioned it. He wanted to see what the others would say first, and, upon hearing what would classify as a Rank 7, he deemed this a wise decision.
"Salve-Master. Okay. That sounds like a good plan." He was curious about the art, as something about the words "Salve-Master" reminded him of his home world.
A boy, apparently named Neku, rushed up to meet Tori. Conrí bit his lip and refused to give Neku information regarding the first question, because, something about how Tori responded made him think that Neku was the overly protective type. The would be wolf king wondered if he had any room to talk in that regard. "My name is Conrí Niall. I am an acquaintance of Tori's," the wolf boy said with a bow. The line seemed true and safe enough, but, Conrí wondered if he would regret speaking or not.

Jennifer stifled a giggle with her hand when Tori explained the Mark system, while Jason put his two cents in with a chuckle of his own. "Severe damage to a town is a 6 huh? Well we'll make sure not to go crazy while we're here then." Lucia looked over her shoulder at him just a little annoyed. "Jason, just because that's where we'd rank in the system does not mean you can be rude about it."
As the group entered the town Lucia noted Tori pulling her hood up, but for what reason she didn't know. The girl's aura had an odd look to it, but for that matter so did Conri's, so perhaps it was something about this world. That theory grew even more confusing as what appeared to be a normal boy ran up to the group before addressing their guide, apparently named Neku.
Lucia put a gloved hand on her chest just below her necklace as she introduced herself again. "We're a group of mercenaries and monster exterminators called the Twilight Brigade. I'm Lucia, pleased to meat you." Jennifer gave a small wave and a smile with hers. "Jennifer, Lucia's sister." Finally Jason gave a casual looking salute during his. "Yo, names Jason."

Tori glanced back at the group, Conrí included, and smiled.
"Well, that made things quick" she chuckled. "Cool. Name's Neku" the boy said, with a smirk, "So, Mercenaries? You oughtta take a look at the rules Mercenaries have here. Just so that you don't get in trouble" he pointed out to the Twilight Brigade, and then looked back at Tori, "You already told them, right?" "I was about to. Conrí and I had to claim a bounty, first. Remember those Malboros?" "Oh, so you're the one who took it? Damn... I wanted it." "Why? You wanted to go solo?" Tori laughed, "Even I wouldn't have done that..."
Neku took a better look at the Mercenaries, since he himself was learning to become one, too. He managed to overhear a comment towards the boy names Jason, and took considerate caution when approaching him with words.
"Ya wanna be in the Headhunters' radar? Trust me, you wanna avoid that" he said at him, "It's pretty hard for you to get away from them. The moment you mess up, you're dead" Neku gestured a move with his thumb across hhis neck, and added a snapping sound. "...I was going to bring them to the Counsil after we claimed the rewards, anyway" Tori replied, "So it wouldn't have been that much of a problem. But... Yeah. You're best behaving if you don't wanna end up in a Headhunter's view. I know that too well to lie about it." "Like you can lie to begin with..." Neku muttered, amused. "I heard that!"

Conrí nodded at Tori's smile and laughed a little when Neku seemed to be so easily placated with everyone's answer. He looked a little upset that Tori and Conrí had taken the bounty, but the boy ignored him, quickly studied the Twilight Brigade again, and immediately began rambling off about rules and mercenaries.
It's kind of charming, really. How passionate Neku is. The wolf boy found himself getting lost in moments of his childhood, wondering if he had ever been as passionate as this boy was about anything. Conrí cleared his throat and shook his head, only just hearing Neku's comment about Tori's inability to lie and her snappy comeback. He coughed slightly, trying to hide his grin.
"Today was really fun, thank you. What are we doing after the bounty, Tori?" He wondered when he would get the chance to try calling that strange blade to him again, but, the wolf boy decided that it was for the best to not push his luck. He knew how quickly Tori's fiery passion could turn against him.

The trio looked shared a look as Neku gave his warning before laughing together. "Don't worry, we don't want any trouble. We just have a bad habit of breaking things trying to save people from monsters and Heartless." Jennifer had the grace to look a little embarrassed as she reassured them, seeing as she was responsible for a decent amount of that damage.
Lucia's smile slid just a little as memories of piles of paperwork and bills came back to her. To this day she hated the sight of paperwork, and was very glad she usually operated off-world now, to keep that from happening again. "Anyhow, there are rules for mercenaries? We weren't planning on staying very long. Actually, we came here by accident. If it weren't for minding Tori and Conri fighting those Malboros we would have left already."
Jason remained completely unconcerned with the concept of being hunted, it being the norm for most of his life. "Well, while we're here we can see if anyone wants these Nightblades or your Wings of Light, Jennifer. Or are you still going pretend that's your only weapon?" Jennifer stuck her tongue out at him before glancing down an the unassuming silver bracelets on her wrists.

Both Neku and Tori tilted their heads at the trio, not understanding much of their reasoning. However, there were no benefits for stopping someone who could move from world to world on their own. If they wanted to leave, then there was nothing stopping them. Conrí was a different case, however, and Tori had to at least explain that.
"If you wanna leave, fine by us" Tori said, "You guys said you came here by your own means, meaning that you can travel around easily. There's nothing stopping you from doing so. But it'd be safer if you at least keep your guard up. Just in case." "So, Conrí, right?" Neku looked at him, "You'll stay here a while, right? Have you thought on any class you wanna join? I can help ya out if ya need."

Conrí tsked his tongue lightly against the roof of his mouth when he heard Lucia mention leaving.I'm sure Tori won't like that too much. To be honest, he didn't entirely understand what Jason was talking about either, but, he noticed how Jennifer looked at her bracelets. "I believe, much like we're going to exchange our bounty, they are looking to exchange their own things."
He turned to Tori just in time to see the fire burning in her eyes. Yep...Here it comes. The wolf boy cringed slightly when Tori snapped at them. It took most of his self-control to keep a straight face.
The would be wolf king exhaled in relief when Neku addressed him. He nodded. "I'm hoping to stay for a while, until I figure out how to get to my own world, if it's still there." He got another weird flash of the place he was before he came here. In the flash, he was kneeling in front of Tori, but, why would he be doing that? Conrí shook his head slightly and sighed. "To be honest, Neku, I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up." He said this with a wide grin and chuckled.
"Shall we go, then, Tori, Neku, the three of you, if you're coming along to the town, then?" Conrí looked at Tori and suddenly felt light-headed. "Tori," his voice dropped to a whisper, "would you be willing to train with me tomorrow morning? I want to see if I've improved at all."
