Lucia put her hands up defensively at Tori's words. "I'm sorry if we offended you. It's good to know that we can leave whenever, but Jason's right. We have yet to find anyone willing to buy our spare weapons, so we might as well try here." The truth of the matter was that both Tori and Conri's auras were odd, almost inhuman, and she wanted to find out why. She couldn't just come out and say that though.
Jason nodded in agreement as he put his hands into his pockets casually before Jennifer's stomach growled comically, causing her to blush spectacularly. "Sorry, I haven't eaten much today." The other two chuckled as the trio continued to follow.

Tori eased herself as she heard Lucia talk, and chuckled.
"If that's what you want, say it sooner" she replied, smirking uneasily, "Since we were going Downtown, you can have Neku here help you out on who's a good buyer. Right?" Tori asked, looking at the Mercenary Trainée. "Huh?! Since when am I your errand boy?!" Neku asked back, shocked, "There's a reason why I asked Conrí the question I did, right?! He's staying here long enough, so he's best off getting lessons as quickly as possible!"
The two stopped arguing the moment they heard Jen talk, expressing her hunger, and crossed a look of unease between them. Sighing, they noticed that there wasn't a point in doing anything but help them out, if only to get the hang of things. Once they left, maybe they would continue their constant arguing.
"Being a Mercenary, shouldn't you have at least a snack or two with you? Running out of energy can be deadly for a Mercenary, after all" Neku said, smirking, and then let loose, "Downtown has a bunch of stuff, including restaurants and the like. You might wanna take a view around once you've sold your weapons to anyone."

Conrí snickered as Tori and Neku argued. Something about it amused him. When they both stopped because Jennifer's stomach growled, he cleared his throat. "Neku, how about this, I will talk to you tomorrow about the classes, okay? I might have a better idea after seeing Downtown and meeting the Salve-Master." The wolf-boy looked at Tori with a half-apologetic smile.
Hey, Fenrir, do you remember if I have any food on me? I wouldn't suppose so, since I just woke up here from that other place.
Ugh...you're really not bright, are you?
Huh?
Tori. What do you think she makes of these three? In fact, she just tried to have Neku lead them all away from you.
I suppose you have a point, but, we have to go see the Salve-Master anyway.
Right, and did you hear her answer your question?
Well, no, but, then again, we don't even know if she heard my question.
Now you're thinking.
Conrí patted down his pockets, but couldn't find anything that seemed like food and shrugged.

Jennifer pouted at both her friends' laughter and Neku's comments. "I do, but they don't taste very good. I prefer to eat proper food instead." Jason nodded in agreement again, though his eyes had narrowed slightly at the vagueness of their words. Each of the three had energy bars specially made for them, enough for a one day supply if no other food was available, but they were very bland and dry.
Lucia focused more on her Auric Sight as Tori and Neku argued, noting the unease. She also noted what she recognized as a separate being active within Conri's, similar to how Kairi and Namine had been during their meeting years ago. "Are we interrupting something? Every time we mention staying longer you get more unsure of us, almost as if there's something you don't want us to know about. If you don't want us here, please tell us." She kept her expression neutral as she spoke, hoping to appear as nonthreatening as possible.

Tori noticed Lucia's question, and frowned, pulling her hood a bit lower.
"Is that to me or to Conrí?" she asked, and sighed, "In any case... We've been losing some time. I guess there's no other option but to go together, since we're close to Mel's place." "She's the one who requested the Mark?" Neku asked, looking shocked, "Huh... Never thought about it..."
The pair led the rest towards a stand, where a single girl was trying to sell potions and the like. She had green hair, and brown eyes, and wore a simple, orange robe. As soon as she saw Tori and Neku, she smiled, standing up. Tori waved back at her, and Neku simply smirked as Mel waved at them with enthusiasm.
"Hey there!" Mel greeted, "What can I do for you today?" "Not much, really. I came here to inform about this" Tori replied, showing her the bulletin with the Malboros on it, "They've been taken care of. The kid over there has proof, if you don't believe us." "No, I trust you. After all, you're part of the Hunter's Gang!" Mel said eager, "So, those Malboros are gone?" "Yep. It should be safe to roam around the Western Shore if you're gonna be looking for herbs and the like. Actually... There's something I need to ask ya..." "Go on! What is it?" "What and learn, Conrí" Neku nudged him with his elbow, "If you'll go solo someday, you oughtta know how to deal with people. And go hand over the Malboro Flower. Mel can buy it for a good price." "One of the Malboros has a flower with it. How much would you buy it for?" Tori asked Mel, unaware of the others' conversation. "A Malboro Flower, huh? The minimun is 5,000 gil, but... They're quite rare lately. I'd buy it for 6,000 gil, or maybe more, if you need it." "Sounds fair. Why the price raise, though?" "Well, because they're used to make Elixirs, duh! At least, they're part of it. If not, then they make pretty strong Panaceas and Serums."

Conrí studied Lucia carefully. He was impressed that she had studied them so covertly, and picked up on Tori's unease. And, you three have a strange smell, but I don't ask impolite questions. He sniffed unconsciously. "Whether it was to me or you, Tori, I think time is the only thing that will tell their stories." He shot Tori a serious look, and his body tensed again, but he released the tension with a breath, because they were all soon greeted by Mel.
I'm not a kid... Conrí sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Neku bumped him with his elbow, advising him to pay attention to this transaction. "Got it. Come see Mel to look at my wares or proof of a kill, he whispered to the boy. You're a spit fire of your own, like Tori, aren't you, but different, huh?
Conrí heard Tori say the words Malboro Flower and presented it from his pocket for Mel to see. They haggled over the price a little, and then Mel mentioned the flower's use in medicine, and the wolf boy felt a comfortable sense of familiarity with the topic. The druids on his home world made sure that he dabbled in medicine making, just in case he got injured in battle. "What else is used to make medicine in this world?" The question just kind of popped out, and he looked from Tori to Mel and chuckled slightly.
He turned to Neku and the trio and looked apologetic. "If this becomes a big discussion, maybe it would be best for you to show them where to go? Sorry. This is going to help me decide what I want to do, probably." His voice dropped to a whisper again, "It's kind of like training, in a way."

Lucia noticed that neither of them answered her question, which only made her worry more. There were some worlds with similar levels of mistrust that she had visited in the past, but this was beginning to feel even more like they were hiding something. She caught her companions' gazes, suggesting with a look that they play along for now. Jason nodded slowly, though his casual stance now had an air of waiting to it. They could afford to be caught off guard once, thanks to their Aspects, but it wasn't advisable.
Jennifer, being herself, tried to diffuse the situation by talking to Neku, who seemed the least hesitant of the three. "So, since they're gonna be a while could you recommend a place to sell two S-Class weapons? The sooner we get that done the sooner we can eat!"

Tori left Mel and Conrí to then turn back at Lucia, pulling her hood even further. She kept feeling targetted, but not by the trio or Conrí. Ever since she entered the town, she felt a murderous aura targetting her. And she knew who it was, yet, to make sure the others didn't worry, kept a calm facade.
"You asked if you guys were bothering here, right?" she asked Lucia, "Well, you're not. It's not uncommon to see foreingers here, after all. If you want to, you can go along or stick with us. Whichever it is, I'm used to it. So stop doubting us for a sec and actually try to pay attention to what you should really be working on, missy" she smirkd, teasing, as she hit Lucia's nose softly.
Mel and Neku looked at Conrí as he asked about medicine, and Mel's eyes glowed brightly with enthusiasm. Neku, on the other hand, sighed in dissapointed, seeing that there was something about Salve-Makers that intrigued Conrí, and that probably meant he wanted to be one.
"So you're interested in medicine, too?!" Mel asked, "I can show you everything you gotta know! Guaranteed! I can even teach you about salve-making!" "You know that screws you up if you wanna take more Marks, right, Conrí?" Neku asked him, "Salve-Makers can't use many weapons, nor can they use most potions in battle, especially against other Guilds. Sure, you can still Hunt, but it becomes a hell of a problem." "Yeah... Making potions and hunnting at the same time is difficult..." Mel agreed, "If you need to take Marks, maybe look for another type of class?"

Conrí shuddered at the smell coming from Tori. Fear? But, not from them, so, then... He turned his attention back to Mel, who seemed very excited to hear of his interest in medicine. At the same time that she made her exclamation, Neku seemed disheartened. The wolf boy cleared his throat slightly. "Well, I'm not sure if I'd be a salve-maker. I just...used to make some salves when I was at my home world."
Hearing Neku's explanation with even Mel advising against his becoming a salve-maker made Conrí think about what he was good at. He also remembered that he would have to hunt another forty eight Marks before he could leave. The would be king stopped himself from laughing. It's funny, Fen. When I woke up here, I really felt I was home. Like I asked for in that dream back in the town.
Fenrir didn't respond, which struck Conrí as odd, but, he knew there were times that the wolf had gone silent before. "Anyway, Neku," the wolf boy leaned close to him and whispered in his ear, hoping Tori wouldn't catch him, "Is there anyone Tori might be afraid of? She keeps tugging her hood and almost looking over her shoulder." He righted himself quickly. "Mel, even though I'm not becoming a salve-maker, I'd still be interested in learning what you can teach me sometime. I'll be staying for a while, I think."
The wolf boy once again addressed Neku, "Before you show them around, since Jennifer seems eager to explore, I'll give you something to think about. I can dual wield, prefer swords, and am somewhat adept at learning mystic arts--what you would call magic. So, when you're done showing them around, maybe you'll have a list of classes that might suit me?" Conrí walked closer to Tori. "Hey, do you think we should buy a few Potions or something?" He desperately wanted to calm her down, but also didn't want to intrude, either.

Lucia finally relaxed as Tori lightly chided her, seeing no lie in her aura at all. The tap on her nose even got her to giggle lightly. "Sorry about that, ever since I found a world where everyone went berserk after dark I've been a little paranoid whenever I go somewhere new." Something was still bothering Tori, but now that she knew it wasn't them she could keep an eye out.
Jason's casualness returned to being genuine once he saw Lucia relax, an easy grin on his face as he watched the others interacting. "Yeah, wasn't that place called Hindersnap? Weird place, what with the "killing everything including each other, only to reset at dawn" mess. I wonder if they're still doing that?"
Jennifer shuddered at that particular memory. "I don't know and don't care. I'd rather face the Titans again than have to go back there."
"What, just cause you were in the bath at the time? I know that didn't bother you."
"Np, because I had to shoot the innkeeper in the head before he killed me!"
Lucia just shook her head as the other two argued and turned back to Tori. "Anyhow, we'd be grateful if you let us stick with you for now. I have a feeling you know your way around here pretty well."

Neku grabbed Conrí by the arm, making sure that he didn't bother Tori for the time being. He had sensed the same thing Tori had, and, in order to avoid her going berserk, he made sure Conrí wouldn't say a thing.
"Keep quiet, and everything'll go smoothly" he advised, "Whatever you want to ask Tori about this, better forget it. She'll be made a mess if you even try to mention it. Trust me on that one. She'll calm down once we're out of town or in a safer place, such as a crowded area. For now, keep your trap shut. Got it?"
Tori looked surprised as the trio mentioned a world they were at, and grew somewhat uneasy. She shuddered at the mere thought, not to mention images that suddenly flooded her mind.
"Urgh... That's disturbing..." she muttered, "...But I honestly doubt that there's any way for that to stop. They're doing that even now..."
As she spoke, her eyes changed to a vivid purple tone, unlike the deep-sea blue that it was before. It was odd, yet Neku was aware of that already. Letting go of Conrí, Neku placed his hand on Tori's shoulder, snapping her out of thought, and smirked.
"We're done here, so why not head to a weaponsmith to help these guys next?" he suggested, "After that, we can all go eat in a nice, crowded place. Sounds nice to me, alright. You've got the funds to invite all of us, right, Tori?" he asked, chuckling. "Ah..." Tori looked back, her eyes changing back, and then grew a bit bitter, "Hey! Who said I was inviting?!"

Conrí simply nodded when Neku grabbed him and warned him to keep his mouth shut about whatever it was that bothered Tori. He looked over his shoulder a few times. Something felt off to him, which most others would call his wild instincts just not liking tight places or crowds, but, he got chills. It definitely wasn't the trio, like Tori said, and, in fact, Conrí was starting to like the idea of them being around. Mercenaries have questionable morals, sure, but, they might be willing to help us if things go...not as well as expected. The wolf boy purposely didn't attract Fenrir's attention, because he didn't want Tori to see the new memory he was making.
As Lucia, Jen, and Jason talked about their time in a truly horrific sounding world, Conrí saw Tori's eyes go purple again. He turned to ask Neku about it, but, the boy had already noticed and had walked over to the girl and seemingly started to calm her down. Does it happen when she's scared? This is the third time I've--wait...that's right! That time where she...I wonder if the Keyblade makes her like that, then. The would be wolf king also took the opportunity to use Tori being dazed to contact Fen. Fen, you feel it too, right? Whatever is making Tori scared.
Took you long enough.
Yeah, yeah, anyway, listen, if you sense it come near us, let me know right away. I'll protect her.
So valiant of you.
It's my duty, too.
Self-imposed.
That doesn't matter. Right now, I need to come up with a plan, because Tori's likely too stubborn to accept help. As Conrí thought this, he looked at Lucia. He wanted to get her attention without alerting Tori. Looking at Lucia felt strange to him, almost like she was seeing through him, but, the would be king steadied his mind. The druids had told him of people with Sight, though, he himself didn't possess it, despite his ability to see and talk to Fenrir and other spirits. The wolf boy steadied his breathing and closed his eyes for a second. He allowed his sense of place to slip into a quasi-trance. He had no idea if this was how any of it worked, but, he let two words fill his being, which he imagined as an energy he was pushing toward only Lucia. Protect Tori.
Conrí opened his eyes and chuckled with the rest of them. "Tori, I actually should have something to take care of my own costs, like last time...that is if munny can change into gil." He never took the munny from Twilight Town out of his pocket.

When Tori's eyes flashed purple Lucia was shocked, though years of training left only two blinks as her reaction. So far as she knew only people from her homeworld of Celderat had their eyes change, and only once they were able to use Aspect at that. Before she could even think to ask Neku had already stopped whatever was happening, dispelling that theory.
Thoroughly confused, Lucia nearly missed yet another oddity, this time in the form of Conri's aura reaching out to her somehow. That was completely new to her, having only met a handful of people that could even see auras like she could. It brushed against hers gently, the brief contact allowing both to get a better sense of the other's mindset, and left a feeling of protection toward their mutual host. Lucia met Conri's eyes with her own as she attempted to imitate what he had just done, willing her acceptance and determination to reach him.
Jason and Jennifer finally stopped arguing once Neku mentioned a weaponsmith and the possibility of food, Jennifer being much more interesting in the latter. "Hey, no arguing now! How about this? We'll pay for everyone. This isn't the first world we've been to that uses gil, and the Garden doesn't have an exchange." Jason just shook his head in amusement. "Anything to get food sooner, eh Jen?"

"Isn't that a bit odd, though? You're the outsiders, after all" Neku chuckled, "But if that's the way you'll act, there's nothing I can do to stop you, now, is there?" "I'm fine as long as it doesn't take out my own funds..." Tori groaned, "I still gotta pay rent, and I even owe some of my scholarship money. Not only that, I was planning to get a few upgrades for my sword..." "Oh, so the Nameless is finally gonna get a name?" Neku asked, grinning while looking at the sword in Tori's hilt. "Shut up, you..."
Tori pushed Neku aside, tossing him to the ground, but Neku simply laughed, excusing himself for the tease going overboard. Tori simply smirked back, which make Neku shudder as he stood up, but it was not out of fear. After all, that kind of attitude was usual for Tori. Hinting at the rest to follow him, Neku guided them around until arriving downtown, where things were the most crowded. As they headed to the weaponsmith in the bazaar, Neku glanced over at the Bulletin Board, and so did Tori. Both of them noticed a bulletin which they were very familiar with, and Neku quickly grabbed it before anyone else could see it. He immediately made a ball with it, and tossed it in a trash can nearby, before continuing his merry way.
"That was unnecessary..." Tori adviced, puffing her cheeks. "The less people that see it, the better" the boy replied back, coldly.

Conrí noticed Lucia staring at him, and felt a strange energy surrounding him. He smiled and nodded. He decided to try pushing his thoughts or energy back to her. No sight. Only sense. Druid training.
Tori began listing off her expenses, and the wolf boy felt on edge, but didn't say anything. When Neku went down, the would be king realised Tori even had limits with close friends. Conrí just chuckled nervously as they wandered toward downtown. True to his word, Neku kept them in packed places, and, the boy's theory about Tori calming down proved correct. The would be king noticed also observed Neku toss something from the bulletin board into a trash can, and heard Tori tell him that his action had been unnecessary, but Conrí kept his eyes on the crowds.
Once he heard the roaring fires of the weaponsmith, the wolf boy went from feeling drained to feeling energised. At least, this was related to sparring and training. Wonder if I could just break away and train for a bit, but, I really don't want to be rude.
Patience never was your thing, huh?
Not really, Fen. But, lately, something has been building in me. Like, this urge to figure out where I fit. Being a king is just part of the story.
Hahahaha...being a king? Aren't you forgetting something important? Like, finding the way back home?
No, but, ever since I met Tori, I realised. I can be a part of something more.
Just don't go forgetting your duty, pup.
Conrí growled slightly. He hated it when Fenrir called him a pup.

As Conri's aura touched hers yet again Lucia got what she thought was a meaning of no sight but still sensing, as confusing as that seemed. Shrugging, she continued to follow the group into Downtown, her Auric Sight quickly becoming overwhelmed by the crowds.
Everything else faded away once they made it to the weaponsmith and she saw the familiar tools and equipment being used. "Now this feels like home. It's been too long since I've forged anything." She was so engrossed in analyzing the layout and quality of the smithy that she completely missed Neku's act, though Jason and Jennifer saw it. They chose to say nothing about it however, instead moving to either side of Lucia, Jennifer elbowing her lightly in the ribs. "Hey, why don't you let us take care of this. Don't you need to tell your boyfriend where we are anyhow?"
Lucia's eyes widened in a panic as she rushed away from the counter, already grabbing the communicator from her pocket. Within seconds she was talking with someone through it, laughing occasionally at an unheard joke.
Now free of the passionate blacksmith of the group, Jason lightly tapped on the counter to get the attention of whoever was inside. "Pardon us, we're looking to sell some weapons." Each of them placed their old weapons on the counter, Jennifer's enchanted Mythril bow contrasting with the deep black Sky Iron of Jason's Nightblades.

Tori took a glance at the weapons in shock, and demanded to have a better look. Neku stood on the sidelines, yet he managed to overlook at the weapons the group's old weaponry, and let out a whistle of praise.
"Lookin' good there..." he said. "Where the hell did you guys find this?!" Tori asked, shocked, "A mythril bow and black sky iron daggers... Those are rare, alright..." "Thinking on something, Tori?" Neku asked, teasing. "Actually, yeah. I was thinking on using Gemsteel for my blade, but... Mythril is stronger and more flexible, right?" "Supposedly... You're thinking on buying the bow and reusing the mythril? That'd be a waste..." "Still... Looks so solid, I just don't think regular mythril will work for what I need." "You just want heavy weaponry, admit it. You hate light weapons." "Can you just keep quiet for a second and actually let me think here?"
Neku shrugged, giving up. Tori, on the other hand, kept looking at the bow, and, after a second of hesitation, grabbed it, and, positioning herself right, pulled the string back towards her. After a while, she let go an imaginary arrow, to just leave it back in the counter.
"As much as I like bows and the like for ranged combat, I still think magic is better..." she determined, and looked at Jen, "I dunno where you got that, but selling it? Are you serious? That thing is pretty strong."
One of the weaponsmiths was there, looking at the group and the weapons left at the corner. With a critical eye, he looked at the trio, and, after a thorough look, took a glance at the weapons, dictating their price.
"I'll buy the bow for 65 thousand gil" he said, "And the nightblades? 50 each, so 100 thousand gil. Anything else?"

Conrí noticed Lucia gushing over the forge, but then Jen interrupted her glee, and she dashed off to talk into some kind of device. Jason seemed relieved, and quickly got the smithy's attention. Tori talked with Neku about crafting her sword from Mythril, something the wolf boy had never heard of. He also kept his guard up slightly, though, it was hard to do in a place that felt like home.
The would be king's gaze shifted around the shop, taking in all the weapons, but nothing really caught his eye. He had Claiomh Solais with him, and wasn't about to give up a family heirloom for some gil. It was the only thing left to mark him as the king, which, he might need to do if someone else had tried to take the throne--if his world was still there. Conrí touched the hilt of his sword affectionately.
Unfortunately for him, the smithy took notice, and, right after he'd listed his prices to Jason and Jen, he beckoned the wolf boy up to the counter.
Conrí sighed and half snarled at the man. "It's not for sale, sir."
"I already knew that, but, I was hoping to have a look at it."
The would be king shot a glare at the wall and unbuckled Claiomh Solais from his waist. "Don't try anything funny."
"You've my word, sire."
Conrí stared at the smithy and barely held his composure. "I'm sorry if I came off as pompous." The line usually worked on people, but the smithy didn't seem annoyed--he just merely winked and went about studying the blade.
The smithy let out a heavy sigh. "Not what I thought it was." Conrí noted a strange light in the man's eyes as he delicately handed the sheathed blade back to the wolf boy. "It's worthless." In a lower voice he said, "I hope my king will find his way home."
Another wink, and the conversation was over. Fen...do you think this means they didn't die because of me?
There is always hope.
Conrí's hand touched his forehead. Keyblade... The town seemed to tilt and shift, and the wolf boy felt like he was being pulled down through the ground and into sleep. No, not yet. I'm sorry. I hear the call, but, I can't answer it yet. He cleared his throat and looked at Tori. He bit his lip. I need to make sure she makes it back safe first.

As the weaponsmith named his prices Jennifer didn't even hesitate. "Sorry, but I won't be selling the bow after all." She lifted it off of the counter one final time before turning to present it to Tori. "I'd rather it be used by someone I know, to be honest. Do what you want with the metal, it was enchanted by the Gods of Olympus to gather Light for use of the wielder."
Jason looked over in surprise before grasping the situation and sighing as he too picked up his old weapons. "Ah what the hell, it's not like we really need the money anyhow." He held out the twin wrist blades to Tori as well. "They weren't blessed by the Gods or anything but they work pretty well as conduits for magic, and I can guarantee the metal will be comparable with the Mythril. Consider it an apology for earlier."
By then Lucia had finally finished her conversation, rejoining the group just after Conri's sword was handed back to him. She knew instantly what her companions were doing, having had several conversations about the weapons in the past. "I can shape those into ingots using magic if you like, but I don't think they're going to take no for an answer here." Her tone clearly showed how amused she was, knowing full well that the weapons would likely be left of Tori's doorstep when they left if she tried to refuse. Jason and her sister were both as stubborn as she in some things.

Tori looked at Jen and Jason in shock, with no words to be said whatsoever. She was caught off-guard by their decision, and, after seeing that they were basically giving it for free, she collapsed mentally.
"I... Uhh... Umm..." she began to fidget around, uneasy. "Well, aren't you guys nice?" Neku said, looking amused, "You're so nice, Tori has nothing to say for once! That's pretty rare." "Oh, shut up already!" Tori turned back at Neku, red and bitter. "Yep. You're flustered, alright... If you won't take 'em, I will. I sure as hell can use those weapons." "I haven't refused their offer, though! So that'd be stealing! And you're no Thief!" "Well, I can call Vaan and ask him to come here to take 'em. That's fair, right?" "No, it's not!"
Tori stopped once, trying to avoid the others from seeing her that flustered, but, since Neku had pointed it out, it was inevitable. After a while, Tori took a deep breath, and looked at Jen and Jason, with a neutral expression.
"You'll give them to me, with nothing back? How come?" she asked, calmly, "You guys were looking to sell those. So why are you backing off?"
