Conrí grinned as Tori and Neku started going back and forth. He thought it was cute that Tori didn't know how to react to Jen and Jason's kindness. The wolf boy walked to Tori and Neku with a strange light in his eyes. Yep, she's cute when she's flustered. He leaned to whisper in Tori's ear, since he was sure she wouldn't want to cause too much more of a scene.
The would be king heard her question as to why the two would be not asking her for something in return. "Sometimes, this is how people--friends--show their appreciation, and, sometimes, it's also how friends apologise when they have upset someone. Friends don't need to be repaid. We just do things because we like being around, because of the light your heart brings." Conrí nodded and stepped away from the girl.
"Though, this prompts an apology from me. I seem to have misjudged you three. Sorry about that." The wolf boy bowed slightly to the three. Once he righted his stature, Conrí thought he smelled food nearby. "Anyway, Neku, should we get going to lunch before Jen passes out or something?" He asked this with a cheeky smirk and a wink to the boy.

Jennifer giggled softly at Tori's expression as Jason and Lucia both grinned. "We're friends with a king; money isn't a problem. We only wanted to sell them so that someone could use them later. All we've ever wanted is to help people." Jason chimed in then, his grin growing as he did. "Besides, as nice as these weapons are we've both got better ones now. I've got some bad memories of mine anyhow, so make some better ones with whatever you do with them."
Lucia just smiled at the two before lightly touching both the Wings of Light and the Nightblades with her fingers. "You're sure you two?" Both of them nodded without hesitation. "All right then. Stonega." As she channeled the power of Earth magic the weapons smoothly shifted around as if the metal had liquefied while cool. A moment later one perfect ingot of Light-infused Mythril and two smaller ingots of Sky Iron were all that remained of the weapons.
Satisfied, Lucia turned just in time to catch Conri's words and bow, which she dismissed with a light wave of her hand. "Don't worry about it. I really should be introducing us as adventurers instead of mercenaries anyhow. Gives a better impression of what we actually do."

Tori let out an uneasy sigh, but raised her head back confidently. Neku knew without second thoughts that Tori had given up to the others' persistance, and chuckled softly.
"If you'll just insist I keep them even if I say 'no', then... Okay, I'll take 'em. But... I won't be using them for myself" she added, looking at Neku. "Then what?" Neku asked back, and then seemed to notice, "Oh, I get it. You'll take 'em in the Guild's stead. Well ain't that nice of you!"
Tori smiled with confidence, and grabbed the ingots from the counter. She then looked at the trio, and thanked them, as Neku began mentioning a few opportunities where the minerals could be used.
"Now that I recall about it... Luneth said he wanted new daggers, right? Sky iron is definitely gonna help him" he remembed. "Yeah, because his old daggers became too rusty" Tori chuckled. "Then there's one use, although the others could just come in and grab it first. So..." Neku walked towards Tori, and pointed at the mythril, ""I'll be taking that mythril, thank you very much. I have something in mind that just so happens to need it." "Hmm? Like what? Wait, no, lemme guess..." Tori drew a playful smile, "You'll make something for Mei, right? It's written all over your face." "Y-You don't know that..." Neku looked away, blushing. "It's called 'revenge'? And it's served cold, for your information." "Haa... You win..."
As they laughed back, someone walked in the store, startling the weaponsmith first, and then the two friends. A tall man, with a permanent, stern look. Tori flinched, and pulled her hood a pit in uneasy, while Neku simply kept looking at the person with clear hatred. The man left a gun in the counter, after making his way in between the group, and told the weaponsmith what he wanted.
"I want it fixed. The usual checkup" the man said. "U-Understood..." the weaponsmith replied, taking the gun with him inside.
After leaving his weapon, the man looked at Tori and Neku, who were clearly attentive to his actions. Raising an eyebrow, he walked towards them, with a serious expression.
"I know you" he said, pointing at Neku, "You're that Mercenary Trainee in the Hunter's Gang, right? What are you doing here?" "Nothing you need to know. Why bother, anyway?" Neku said, bitter, "It's not like I have anything of value to you, anyway." "...And you" the man looked at Tori, "Do I know you from somewhere? You seem familiar..." he spoke with some disgust and hatred in his voice. "Who knows? Maybe you're just mistaking me for someone else" Tori said, "There's a lot of look-a-likes here, aren't there?" "...Take off your hood, then." "You know the rules, don't you? I have the right to hide my identity from people such as you. And I think you wouldn't want another loss on your record, now, would you? After all, the only way to determine my identity is for you to defeat me, right?" "...Hmph. Maybe not today, but certainly soon."
The man left with nothing else to say, and left Tori with a bittersweet taste in her mouth. Neku simply spat at his direction, thing the man didn't notice, and wouldn't have cared for in any case.

Conrí's ears twitched. He sensed strength and danger rolled into one at the edge of the smithy's building, but, before it entered, he busied himself by pretending to look into weapons. "Are you quite sure my blade is worthless, sir?" He asked the smithy while winking.
When Neku blushed, the wolf boy chuckled a little, but, he saw the man entering the shop. The would be king immediately noticed how Tori withdrew slightly. Conrí's body tensed when the man addressed one of Tir Tairngire's own like that, and his jaw tightened into a firm line. He nearly spun around to face the pompous entrant, but, he stopped himself, only because Fenrir was arguing with him as a distraction. Once the man left, Conrí marched up to the smithy's counter. "How dare he..." The rest of his words were lost in a low growl. The wolf boy looked at the man's weapons. "Smithy, your future king has a favor to ask, before you wipe those down."
The smithy nodded, with an amused light in his eye, and turned his back. This gave Conrí the time he needed to take in the stranger's musky and overly confident stench that mixed with the smokey scent of gunpowder. The would be king's nose wrinkled, and he almost gagged, but, the path leading out of the smithy's appeared.
Satisfied, the wolf boy tapped the counter and returned to the group. "Tori, you don't have to stay in this part of the city if you don't want. We can go back to where we were this morning, if you want," he said this, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I have his scent, so, I can track him down, too, provided he stays on this world, if that's what you want. Either way, you're not facing this alone." His hand slipped away from Tori's shoulder, and the wolf boy turned to face her, his gaze completely serious, and his face set like stone. "Besides, a lowlife idiot like that should really learn to take caution to whom he speaks to like that, because, now, he has the wrath of a king to fear." Conrí muttered with a snarl. "He's not going to treat my loyal subject over there like that again!"
He found himself outstretching his hand, as though he was going to try summoning the elusive Keyblade again, but, instead, his hand started glowing with an orb of light inside it. Conrí let his rage fill his mind, and the light seemed to grow in intensity. "By the will of Lugus, I, born of the Royal Family of--" The smithy coughed, and Fenrir audibly growled in his ear, which stopped him from releasing the orb into a beam, which surely would have caused more of a scene than he already had. Conrí allowed his anger to dissipate through he body, releasing the magic power slowly as he did so, so that the light shrank, flickered, and then vanished in a small flash. "Apologies. I just can't stand people like him."
How did that spell manifest itself like that, Fen?
You've been unconsciously focusing on this "Keyblade" for quite some time, so, it makes sense that the energy wants to release itself somehow. I simply do not consider it wise to try destroying the shop of a subject or risking people's lives with uncontrolled rage. Especially not for newborn pups like that one.
Conrí chuckled a little. "Newborn pup, good one, Fen," he whispered.

Just as it seemed that everyone was finally getting along a little better someone else entered the shop, forcing Jennifer and Lucia to back away as he walked through the group. Jennifer came very close to protesting, only choosing not to when he walked out as quickly as he came in. Not before confronting Tori however, an act that made Lucia narrow her eyes as anger began to surface within her. She quickly memorized his aura so she could see him even in a crowd, not trusting him at all.
Both Jason and Lucia overheard Conri speaking with the smith and Tori, raising quite a few questions. Even more were raised by his next act, but Jennifer could no longer contain herself by then. "I have no idea what's going on, but we'll help out too! I hate jerks like that!" In her excited state she mentally connected to her Dawn Celica, the silver bracelets quickly expanding into full gauntlets with what appeared to be shotgun barrels on each end.
Jason nodded in agreement as he rummaged around in his pocket. "I couldn't agree more, Jen. People like him are the reason I used to have a job." Finally grabbing something, he pulled out his Dusk Shroud, sheath and all, from that same pocket somehow before attaching it to his back with a little Gravity magic.
Meanwhile Lucia was staring at Conri, seeing him in a new light after that little outburst. That gesture, while it didn't end as she was used to, had been instantly recognizable. She glanced over at Tori, choosing to address that first. "I've memorized his aura through my Auric Sight as well, so even if he goes off world he wouldn't get away for long. Consider our support a given as well." Her violet eyes shifted back to Conri as she caught another flicker in his aura. "Looks like we've met another king with a keyblade, and this one with a mental companion. Am I right, Conri?"

Tori sighed, and, after Conrí let go of her, she took a few steps forward, tucking her hands inside her pockets. She'd left the Sky Iron ingots behind, yet didn't seem to mind for a few seconds. The sudden encounter had left a bitter taste on her, one that, although constant, was still frightening.
"You guys don't have to do anything in regards to him" she said, monotone, "...He's my business, and mine alone. So, please, just stay out of the way."
Neku looked at Tori, with a hint of concern, after the others spoke their minds out, and showed their support towards her. Sighing, he followed Tori, and then nudged the rest to do the same. As he walked forward, he grabbed the ingots left behind, making sure that they wouldn't fall on his way.
"...We agreed on something, didn't we?" Tori said, stopping and glancing at the group, "We'd go eat after we finished everything... Right?" "Yeah..." Neku was caught off-guard by her sudden comment, "What of it?" "...Any idea where to go?" "Uhh... No, not really... Haven't thought about it too much..." "What about you guys?" Tori asked the rest, "Any ideas on where we can go next?"

Conrí just nodded when Tori told them not to get in the way. I don't like it, but, I understand. Neku's sigh seemed to lend sound to the wolf boy's thoughts. He turned to face Lucia. Without thinking, he tucked his hand that had nearly fired off a spell behind his back. Like a kid trying to hide from their guardian, he hung his head. "I'm neither king nor Keyblade wielder. He looked from the smithy to Lucia and bit his lip. "I failed Tir Tairngire when it and its people needed me most." His body shook, but, for once, not from fear of being unable to decide in time. "A man in a cloak came into the sacred chambers and threatened my life. Instead of acting as a king would, I lowered my weapon. Darkness came and swallowed up everything. Right as I was falling into the darkness, a small light appeared, and, after that, I don't remember what happened. I just woke up in a world where it's always twilight."
This time, Conrí's gaze shifted to Tori, who had started to leave the smithy before turning his attention back to Lucia. "And then, I met her. It felt like I knew her from somewhere, but, that turned out not to be true, I guess. Then, I woke up here. And caused her some trouble because of a Keyblade, so, I am no wielder." He saw Neku motion to them to follow Tori. The wolf boy nodded and began to follow Tori. "Fenrir, you might as well come out, most of them know, anyway. Just, don't be in battle mode."
A large wolf appeared next to the would be king. "This is Fen. He's a spirit." At this, Conrí smiled. "And my first friend. So, I guess you figured me out, Lucia, which is more than I can say for myself."
Keyblade... The wolf boy groaned a little. Not...yet. He heard Tori remember that they were going to head out for lunch, and stopped beside her. "Well, I'm new here, but, I'm craving some cottage pie." He thought of a way to explain what the dish was, then remembered something about Tori that the trio didn't know. He whispered in her ear, "It's like this," and then focused on a fond memory of when he'd eaten it before and sent it to her. "But, really, I'd be happy with anything, as long as it meant spending more time with my friends." He grinned, and felt a bit of warmth come to his cheeks.

Jennifer deactivated her gauntlets as she followed Tori and Neko out first, while Jason hung back near the door to listen to Conri till the end. Both had heard everything up to his world falling, and all three thought of their own world. Lucia's voice was soft as she responded. "Your world fell recently then. My condolences, but take heart; it may yet return. Ours did after it fell nine years ago, though I wish it hadn't. I know your pain twice over, Conri, and you are not a failure." Her smile was sad as she followed him out the door.
As they followed the others, all three were caught up in memories of Celderat, each with their own memories of the first fall and a shared memory of the return they regretted more than anything else. They had moved on, no longer blaming themselves, but time had not soothed the pain yet. It might never, not completely.

Tori groaned, shaking her head. She stopped for a moment, and placed her hand on her forehead. Neku noticed that, and rushed to her side, but Tori stopped him with her free hand.
"I'm okay, just... Too many thoughts right now..." "H-Huh...? What do you mean?" Neku asked, confused, "Sometimes, you say the weirdest things ever, y'know that?"
Tori simply puffed her cheeks at him, which make Neku back down a bit, with some uneasy. Tori's head was immediately focused on the others' memories: a "cottage pie" that Conrí remembered and had enjoyed eating, and the trio's home world, which was lost to the darkness. Everything, like a crashing wave against the sea, after a moment of weakness.
"Urgh... You guys... Can't you... stop for a second? I'm really not feeling it..." she begged, uneasy. "Stop what? Seriously, we're doing nothing at the moment!" Neku replied, "Seriously, what's with you all of the sudden?"

Conrí smiled at Lucia. The reassurance of her words made his body tingle. "Thanks, Lucia, Jason, Jen. None of you are failures, either. I can tell from just how much you're putting into everything you do." He then heard Neku shouting in frustration and alarm, and noticed Tori holding her head.
She was asking them to stop shortly after he'd finished thinking about the cottage pie, and then it clicked. The wolf boy took in a breath and quickly pushed his thoughts back away from Tori and even Fenrir. He looked at Lucia, and pushed his aura out to her. Don't remember right now. It can hurt Tori. Tell Jen and Jason. Conrí backed away from Tori a little bit.
"Sorry about all that. I didn't think you would get caught up in it all at once," he said, ignoring Neku's puzzled look. It wasn't his place to say. The would be king just hoped that he had not made Tori too upset. "Is there anywhere you would like to eat?" He asked the question to everyone, but kept his eyes on Tori.

Conri's method of communicating via aura was odd, Lucia decided as he once again conveyed something to her, but surprisingly effective. A moment later she processed what felt like worry about Tori and... a lack of memories? She was confused at first, but something clicked when Tori herself mentioned too many thoughts. Needing to act quickly, she barked an order to Jason and her sister. "Flame and Void!"
The tone of her voice made the response instinctive, with both of them joining her in visualizing a flame that fed on thoughts, until all that was left was each of their minds within empty voids. There was clearly no threat nearby, so both looked at her for answers once the exercise was done. She kept her voice low and quiet, pitching it to only carry to the other Celderatians. "She's either a very strong empath or a mind-reader without full control. Guard your thoughts around her, for her sake." Raising her voice back to normal, she spoke to Conri. "None of us have a preference."

Tori shook her head, a bit dazed. It didn't matter if they stopped remembering by the time she asked: the damage had already been done. Once Tori saw another memory, it would be forever printed in her mind. Although unconscious, she knew about that much.
"Haa..." she sighed, trying to let go, and stand back up straight, "I'm... Geesh, what the hell...?" "What?" Neku asked, confused, "What the hell what? Can't I get some answers here?" "...Never mind. I'm fine, so you don't need to worry..." Tori said after a while, shaking her head.
Both of them turned at Conrí as he asked for ideas on where to go eat, and Neku suddenly snapped his fingers, startling Tori for a second.
"Now that I remember, there IS a place that opened recently" he said, "Mei said she'd like to try it out. So why don't we see if it's good or not, to invite her another time?" "You're always thinking about her, aren't you?" Tori teased, unamused. "Hey! It's an opportunity to try something new, y'know!"

Conrí stared at Tori as she straightened and sighed. Whatever Lucia did seemed to maybe help, or, at least not make things any worse. He nodded when Lucia mentioned that they had no preference of where to eat. The wolf boy raised his hand to extend it to Tori, but realised and instead scratched the back of his head with a sheepish grin on his face. "Sorry, Tori." He lowered his hand back to his side and nodded to Neku. "Sorry to worry you, too, but, I think it's all okay now."
Neku snapped his fingers and mentioned a new restaurant that just opened, and once again mentioned Mei. This led to Tori teasing him a bit, which made Conrí chuckle, especially when Neku responded. "You have a point, and, as long as we keep quiet, Mei won't even need know you went without her." The words just kind of slipped out, and the would be king caught himself. "Er, you know, in case that might offend her..." He felt a bit of a blush coming to his cheeks, and turned away from them for a second.
"Anyway, lead on!" He said, turning back once the heat had faded from his face. Fenrir yawned and whined slightly, but Conrí swore that he saw the wolf roll its eyes. I'm glad I met you all. What I was scared of the most was being alone in my failure, but, that's starting to change. He looked at everyone and nodded as Fenrir snorted, and, again, the wolf boy thought he could see his friend smirking.
Tell them that.
It's too cheesy, besides, I think they know.

The trio continued to follow Tori and Neku through town as things seemed to settle down again. Jennifer perked up at the mention of this "Mei" and caught up with Neku himself before leaning toward him with her hands clasped behind her in a teasing manner. "Oh? Sounds like someone has a crush~" She giggled brightly before bouncing away to rejoin Jason and Lucia.
Lucia grinned and chuckled at the scene, while Jason just shook his head in amusement before commenting. "Alright then, sounds like a plan! Let's get going then." Lucia eyed him from the side as they walked. "What, now you're hungry too?"
"What can I say, I've been spoiled by the cooking at Riley's place."
"That's fair. He is a king after all."

Neku blushed even more as Jen teased him, and, groaning, he snapped in embarrassement, much for Tori's amusement.
"Hey, come back here!" he shouted, "You're not getting away with that, y'hear?!" "Geesh... Sometimes, I have to wonder who's the worst between the two..." Tori sighed, chuckling.
With the apology from everyone, followed by Neku's embarrassement and reaction, Tori had managed to calm down. While she still had the meeting vivid in her mind, she felt safe knowing that she would be around people who'd step up for her in case things got dangerous, but the idea of solving the problem on her own was still there. She would let the others protect her, but not finish her own problems.
"Hey, Neku" she called him, trying to focus him on something else, and smiled, "Don't you have somewhere to take us to?" "After I'm done with her..." he groaned back, red as a tomato, while pointing at Lucia, "Or when she apologizes."

As Neku ran off because of Jen's teasing, Conrí sighed. His own stomach started to growl, and he heard Jason mention his own hunger. He looked at Fenrir for a second and shrugged, before turning his attention back to Tori. The wolf boy smirked then laughed and shook his head. "I think he's too preoccupied. Do you know where the place is, Tori?" The would be king looked at her profile and smiled. "Also, would you like to train with me tomorrow? Or hunt more Marks?"
He wondered if his words would reach her or not. A part of him felt dark and cold. She really doesn't see me at all, does she? Conrí seemed to be surrounded by darkness. The closer...you get...Keyblade. The would be king grit his teeth and focused solely on Tori, and his friends, and lunch. "Lunch first, please," he said, and the darkness disappeared.

Jennifer kept Lucia between Neku and her, running circles as she stuck her tongue out at the teen. "Get away with what? All I said was the truth~" This continued for a few moments as Lucia tried to apologize for her. "Sorry, she does this with everyone. Let me take care of it." Jason, knowing what was coming, just smiled even more. "Ah the patented 'Leave us alone' trick. I love this."
With a seemingly practiced sigh and a pinch of the bridge of her nose Lucia stopped and pointed at her sister, channeling a tiny amount of Water magic to the tip of her finger. The effect was remarkably similar to a squirt gun, spraying her a few times as she suddenly stopped and tried to block the water with a hand. "Bad Jennifer. No teasing our hosts." The blonde haired woman pouted in a very childish fashion at this. "Aw, not even a little bit?"
"Nope. Now apologize to him so we can get something to eat finally."
"Alright..."
Turning back to Neku, Jennifer rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "Sorry, I won't tease you anymore." Almost in the same instant she quick talking her grin returned as she ran ahead a few steps before turning to face the group again. "Alright, let's go eat!"

Neku glared at Jen even after her apology, seeing that it wasn't as honest as it was supposed to be. Tori tried to hide a laugh away, so that he wouldn't get any angrier, but it wouldn't have mattered. Still red, Neku rushed towards Jen, and grabbed her by the collar of her shirt.
"You asked for it!" he shouted, "After we eat, it's you and me in the Training Grounds!" "No need to be THAT bitter, y'know... You were the one who stood out..." Tori reminded him, smiling uneasily. "You stay out of it, Tori!" "Role-reversal now?" she sighed back, "Can we go already? If you can at least tell me where it is, I'll lead 'em there." "...Right beside the Chocobo farms. It's right in front of the tabern, so you really can't miss it." "The Sandsea, right? Okay, then" Tori looked at the rest, "Let's get going!"
She began to guide them to the place Neku was talking about, in front of a tabern named the Sandsea. Anyone was able to see the tabern filled up, with various characters from different races and classes. The tabern was in a large plaza, where the smell of Chocobo filled the entire place. A Bulletin Board was in the center of the plaza, on the way to the newly open spot. Among the many Mark bulletins, there were a few with the picture of people, with the message "Wanted" written in big letters, clearly visible. One of them had the picture of who seemed to be Tori, but since it was taken from the back, it wasn't exactly clear of who it was. Tori didn't notice that bulleting, seeing that it was covered by manu others. And, as Neku walked by following the group, he also didn't see it. Both of them skipped it completely due to the fact that there were many other bulletins over it, covering it and making it hard to see at first glance.

Conrí sighed. Once again, he was being ignored by Tori. It felt like he was casting a long shadow, but, if he stopped to think about it, he couldn't blame Tori for ignoring him. Just in this outing, she had a lot going on. So, he would try to be patient. Though, when Neku challenged Jen to a match in the Training Grounds, his ears perked up, and he, like Tori, tried not to laugh--a feat that was harder when Lucia was spraying Jen with a makeshift magic water gun.
The island boy calmed down a little, at least enough to allow Tori to lead them to the restaurant. The wolf boy found himself wondering what a Chocobo was, but, he was soon to find out. As they neared the farms, Conrí stared in awe at the giant yellow birds, even though they skittered away from him when he tried to get near, and squawked loudly when Fenrir approached him. The birds kicked up a lot of dust and dead grass. "Fen, I guess you should maybe go back to the spirit realm now," he knelt down and scratched behind the wolf's ear, and then the companion was gone.
The wolf boy stood up and looked to the tavern, before noticing a bulletin board covered with various ads, mostly Marks and other things. Since nothing stuck out to him, he shrugged and decided to look at ads tomorrow. Conrí stepped into the restaurant and was greeted by a nice waiter.
"Alone?"
"No, actually, there's six of us."
The waiter nodded and led him back to a table near a window that overlooked the Chocobo farm. "Here you are. I'll be back with waters and menus."
Conrí bowed slightly and chose a seat where he could easily watch the people and the Chocobos from time to time.

Jennifer's apology had actually been sincere, but he would have had no way of knowing that given her tendency to bounce back from things quickly. Grabbing her collar and threatening her with battle allowed her training to kick in though, which quickly changed her mood as she gave Neku her most savage smirk. "Oh, are you challenging me to a duel? We'll see what you've got after lunch then." Once he let her go she straightened her shirt again before following Tori. Lucia and Jason trailed behind after giving each other a knowing look.
"10000 gil on Jen."
"You know I'm not going to take that bet Jason. Unless you find someone to bet on Neku it's not happening."
"Eh, I tried. She'll hold back, right?"
"I hope so, for his sake."
Amidst the familiar smell of Chocobo they finally arrived at the tavern, which looked surprisingly similar to the ones on the Garden and Traverse Town. Purely out of habit Jason scanned the board, glancing at each image and key words quickly enough to be a glance from someone without his training. A wanted poster that looked very similar to Tori made him pause for a moment, but a moment later he decided to just keep an eye on her and remain silent. After all, he reasoned as the group finally sat on the opposite side of the table from Conri, it might not even be her. Somehow he doubted it was a coincidence though.
