Jason walked out of the Corridor into the living room of their former home, now used as a base of operations and occasional getaway. Ever since Lucia and Jen got together with Seamus and Riley he'd felt like the odd man out, literally in this case, and had been spending more time here alone. Out of habit he glanced around the room at the two plush recliners and large couch situated in front of a large television, but nobody else was there.
Letting out a sigh he dropped into one of the chairs to the side of the Corridor, trying to come up with something to say to the one who had him confused. He was certain he had been following him when he opened the Corridor, and had purposefully left it open to see if he'd continue even here. Jason's feelings had been a mess the past few minutes, especially when it came to Conrí. He had always been one to feel quick attraction to people, but this felt different. He didn't know how it was, or if it was good or bad.
Once Conrí finally came through he shut the portal with a snap, staring at him for a moment before speaking. "I figured you'd follow me. Welcome to my house." His tone was bright and cocky, almost the same as usual, but his expression betrayed his unease and nervousness. "I figured this way we could talk without the shipping sisters getting in the way. I love them, but they've been trying to set me up with damn near everyone since I became the fifth wheel. Can I get you anything first?"

When Jason suddenly left Mei's house, mentioning that he was going on a walk, Conrí caught something in his eyes that indicated the wolf boy should follow him. So, that's what Conrí did. The would be king stayed a bit behind Jason, but clearly in view. The sounds of the neighborhood filled the silence. He was fretting that he'd caused a scene, and, now, he was worried about leaving Lucia, but, he knew they could handle themselves. The wolf boy's heart raced illogically, even though he was barely walking at a pace that could be considered fast. Whenever Conrí watched Jason walking, his hear rate increased, which caused him to slow his pace, and stare at the sidewalk. "What's going on with me?" He was half tempted to summon Lugus, but, he knew it wasn't that anymore.
The wolf boy became so inward gazing, trying to figure himself out that he nearly just blindly passed the Corridor. Then, he stopped and stared into the dark portal. "Jason didn't say to follow him in...what if he wants to be left alone?" He and Fen argued back and forth for a while, with Fen winning out, urging his companion to go before the portal closed. Sighing again, Conrí timidly stepped into the portal.
"Please excuse my intrusion." His voice barely raised above a whisper, and, if Jason heard him, he ignored it and welcomed the would be king into his home. Conrí looked around, then spotted the chairs, but stayed standing. He noticed the cockiness in Jason's voice sounded off from normal. The wolf boy's mouth was suddenly dry, so, he cleared his throat and nodded slowly.
Admittedly, it felt like he was swimming under murky water. "Um..." Conrí fiddled with his thumbs, "If it's not much trouble, may I have some tea and water?" He had to force himself not to mumble his question. He also had to stop himself from bowing. Conrí didn't want to make assumptions, so, he remained standing, but felt very much like he was about to fall through the floor.
"Uh..." He started to ask, but then shook his head, deciding he would just follow Jason out to the kitchen instead of sitting down.

Walking through the hallways of the base brought Jason some comfort, allowing him to drop the act and be himself for once. "Sorry about the mood shift. I tend to act pretty different when I'm in an unfamiliar place, thanks to my past." By the time they had gotten to the kitchen, with it's marbled white counters and light blue cabinets, he had finally realized that Conrí was feeling just as nervous as he was. "Please, try to relax. I'm just as confused and nervous as you are, just better at hiding it."
He chuckled as he pulled out an electric kettle and got some water boiling, before grabbing some teabags and a pair of mugs. "Usually I'd be drinking a beer or some mead, but I'd like to have my head clear right now." Once the water boiled he poured it into the mugs, bringing them over to the oak table near the entrance before sitting down. "So, about what happened back there..."
He paused for a moment, suddenly unsure of himself, before pinching the bridge of his nose with an annoyed sigh. "Oh jeez, I'm not going to beat around the bush like an idiot. I kind of enjoyed that, but if it was a mistake then just let me know and we'll act like it never happened." He was blushing more noticeably this time, something that just didn't happen to him. He felt like one of those girls in an anime trying to confess without actually saying it.

One foot in front of the other. Walk. It's easy. Conrí mostly kept his eyes down, finally coming to the conclusion that he liked whatever happened back there at Mei's. He still didn't quite understand why his heart hammered away in his chest. The wolf boy merely nodded when Jason apologised about the mood shift. "Aye...no worries." When Jason told him to relax, it was like the tension just faded away, and Conrí heard himself exhale.
The wolf boy mimicked Jason's chuckle, which helped him relax a little more, though some tension came over him when wanting a clear head was mentioned. At the suggestion of mead, the would be king's mouth started to water slightly. He walked a bit more lightly back to the entrance, but, he still refused to sit down until Jason asked or outright told him to. At least, that was his intention, and then Jason mentioned what had been going on at Mei's.
This caused Conrí to swoon unexpectedly, and, he put his hand to his head. His heart pounded in his ears, waiting for Jason to continue, still quite unsure of what was going on with him. The wolf boy sank down into the chair behind him when the next words came. Conrí was glad that he hadn't tried to sip at his tea. Instantly, he felt severely warm, and had a guess from the way Jason was blushing that he was an extreme shade of red himself. The wolf boy shifted in his chair and clasped his hands together, forcing himself to breathe and focus.
"I..." Realising he sat down, the would be king stood abruptly. "I..." Take a step damn it. His gaze wandered from the carpet back to Jason's face, though he had some trouble staying focused on the male's eyes. Finally, he nodded and exhaled slowly. "...Liked that too." He scratched the back of his head and fought down a fool grin. "Uh...so, now what?" That seemed to be one of the thousand questions flooding his brain at the moment.

Jason let out a breath he hadn't even realized he was holding when Conrí said that he felt the same. A small smile grew as he leaned back and sipped at his own tea to think for a moment. What did they do now? He knew what Lucia or Jen would be doing, but he wasn't them. And Conrí wasn't some stranger picked up at a bar or club either, scratching an itch before parting ways forever.
He continued musing for nearly a minute before speaking, starting out slow before returning to usual. "Well, to be honest that depends a lot on what you want to do." He chuckled as he continued, placing his mug back on the table. "I guess we're past the point of needing to ask each other if we're into guys, at least. Unlike Lucia and Jen, I tend to prefer to let a relationship grow for a bit longer than a few days before becoming physical, and certainly longer than a month before settling down. Though, to be fair they needed to have the weddings before they couldn't fit in the dresses anymore too."
He shook his head in mild amusement before resuming once more. "What I'm trying to say is that I prefer to take things slow, at least at first. I have some... trust issues sometimes, thanks to my past, so it's usually either that or a one night stand. And I can honestly say I don't want things to go that route here."

Conrí finally eased himself into the chair behind him in a proper manner when Jason exhaled, and he picked up his mug and gulped down his slightly too hot tea. The nerves finally started to settle, but the wolf boy was starting to feel the weight og the silence a little. He also contemplated what to say, but, then Jason spoke, so Conrí listened, chuckling slightly when the need to ask if they were into guys was mentioned. He nodded to show that he was listening as Jason told him what he was used to in terms of a relationship.
"Wait--" he said, when he heard the wedding dress comment. "You know they're pregnant, too?" At the abruptness of his question, the would be king blushed slightly. "Er, uh..." He wasn't all that comfortable with divulging how he knew that, but finally sighed and decided he needed to be vulnerable, too. "I'm part wolf. I smelled that scent once when my mum was..." The memory of his mum expecting made Conrí tear up slightly, and then the memory faded away. "In any case, I'm okay with slow. Especially since..." his gaze dropped to the floor, and he felt uncomfortable again, but not as badly as before, "well, let's just go with you were kind of my wake up call to certain...feelings." He placed his hands on his cheeks, slightly embarrassed at just how not composed he was with any of this.
Conrí lowered his hands and smiled once Jason said that he'd rather not just love and leave. Still, though, having such a direct conversation about things, while refreshing, was also difficult. "Also," Conrí half-groaned and half-whimpered, hoping Jason wasn't about to ridicule him, given what he'd just admitted, "I may have trained with druids, but, I'm not experienced in any sense of the word when it comes to--eh--intimate things." The would be king went back to desperately wanting to hide his face. The thought he had buzzing in his head had to do with the faster learners within the training. They always bragged about such things.
"I just wanted to be honest with you, so, please, be gentle, and, I'll do my best to learn with you." Conrí said this last part, thinking about what Jason had said about his trust issues. "And, I'm not expecting you to open up about your past, not until you're ready. And, it's okay if you never do." The wolf boy licked his lips, noticing just how chapped they had become. "Oh, right, if I mention someone called Fen or Fenrir, he's just my wolf spirit companion, so, please don't fret about it. I've been connected with him ever since I was a wee pup." For the first time, Conrí heard his accent and started blushing. "I can call him out, if you want to say hi. He...he's kinda prickly and doesn't think too much of humans, though, he'd never rightly say that to you. Just me."
The would be king also groaned with another thought. "Uhh...what do we do about Jen, because she definitely noticed back there. And, I know that giggle. It's the same as the girleens would use when they were about to tease ya and tell on ye to your mam and da."

Jason let Conrí speak him mind, occasionally taking a sip of his tea and nodding when appropriate. He found himself enjoying his accent when it finally came out, oddly enough, but the weight he placed on words, even the choice of words itself spoke of an intelligent, thoughtful person. He was a little more bashful than Jason had thought, but that was explained by his first admission.
When Conrí finished Jason had just emptied him mug, setting it down on the table one last time before speaking himself, with that same small smile on his face. "Don't worry about Jen. If I tell her this is off limits she'll pout for a while, but won't push it. I'm surprised you knew about them being pregnant though! I was there to congratulate both of them the morning after it happened actually, though none of us really knew then. Since their only about a month along they'll be fine with whatever that world can throw at them, especially since Jen should be serious enough to switch to her proper armor now." He supposed he should use his as well, once they returned.
"As for experience with both feelings and... other things, I'm just as new to the first one as you are, and the second won't happen until we're both ready. Most of my experience is with women anyhow, so there really isn't as much of a gap as you'd think." The admission made his blush a little worse, but he was mature enough to talk about such things when needed. At least, that's what he was trying to tell himself. Inside he was just as nervous as Conrí.
"And I assume you're talking about the wolf you had with you yesterday. If so, then there's no need for an introduction. As for my trust issues..." He trailed off for a moment before taking a deep breath and pushing through his fear, hoping that he wasn't about to ruin everything. "I have trouble letting people get close to me, because I spent two years as an assassin before Celderat fell to the Heartless. And," he shut his eyes, terrified to see what his next words might change Conrí's gaze to, "after I was used as a scapegoat I tried to use those Heartless to get my revenge. I accidentally lead them straight to the heart of our world." Afraid as he was, he forced himself to open his eyes finally and look at Conrí.

Because Jason listened to him until he fell silent, Conrí naturally returned the action. He nodded along as Jason spoke. The wolf boy sighed in relief when the subject of Lucia and Jen came up, and smiled a little. "That's good." When Jason answered his question about what they should do about Jen, Conrí chuckled a little.
As soon as the subject turned to experience and other things, the would be king felt a heat in his cheeks and suspected that his face mirrored Jason's. His body eased unexpectedly, and he found himself smiling a little. Clearly, he was relieved, and therefore just nodded when Jason asked about Fen. "Well, that's his 'cute' form, but, yeah, that's Fen."
However, when Jason started to actually open up to him, Conrí simply leaned forward and put his hand on his chin. He wanted Jason to know that he was listening intently. That what he had to say mattered. In some way, Conrí could understand what make Jason feel that way. The wolf boy watched as Jason closed his eyes, and something in him hurt for a moment. You're strong. You're so strong for telling me this. But, Conrí knew that Jason probably couldn't hear his thoughts, so, while Jason's eyes were closed, the would be king moved toward him, knelt down, and hesitantly wrapped his arms around him and held him close enough so that Jason could hear Conrí's heart beating. As Jason stopped talking, Conrí moved back a little so that they could look at each other.
"'You're not a failure.'," the words flowed from his mouth unexpectedly. The wolf boy laughed a bit. "I don't mean to quote your sister. What I mean is..." Now that he was looking at Jason, it was harder to find the words, "Er...I think that...ye are too hard on yourself. And, before ye go stormin' off, I also think you've strength in grand proportions because ye trusted me enough to tell me this, a stór."
A furious blush came over Conrí as soon as he heard the endearment pop out of his mouth. At least it wasn't cuisle or cuisle mo chroí...shite that woulda been worse. "Eh...that's um, a term of endearment for couples," the wolf boy started to explain, "It means something akin to 'dear'. It jus' popped out, I swear. I didn't mean to offend ye or move things too fast." The would be king straightened his kneeling posture, but, didn't stand, and scratched the back of his head with a sheepish grin plastered on his face.

Jason prided himself, even now, on not wearing his emotions on his sleeve. His training had taught him to never show any emotion and while going to that extreme no longer interested him, he preferred to remain a mystery to those he didn't know. But when Conrí wrapped his arms around him at his most vulnerable and scared, it just felt right to let a pair of tears trail down his face.
He still wiped them away once Conrí let go and spoke, but his smile was far more genuine as he found his reply. "I forgave myself four years ago for that, but I'm still afraid of being alone if people knew. I woke up on a world with nothing but Heartless after that, and had to live among them for a year before they taught me how to use Corridors. I've hated being alone ever since." Even now memories of that loneliness haunted him occasionally.
Conrí's embarrassment about using that term quickly spread to Jason as he learned what it meant, but when the wolf-king began to worry, Jason slid out of his chair and embraced him with a chuckle. "I think things are moving just as they should be, dear." He must have become more comfortable with the situation, he decided, for his light teasing to feel so right. Either that, or he really had wanted to call him that.
He decided it was probably both.

Conrí noticed the tears, but didn't say anything. He just listened to Jason finish his story. When Jason got to the part about him feeling alone, a kind of void seemed to surround the wolf boy. It was almost like he couldn't breathe or feel that Jason was close to him. He knew that this was just his empathic nature kicking in, but, it felt terrible. So, the would be king shuddered as he heard Jason say he never wanted to be alone again. Conrí nodded, and thought of something to say that wasn't tacky, but, the words had trouble coming to him, so, he just watched Jason closely for a minute or two.
As he was blushing and grinning and hoping he hadn't made a further right fool of himself, Conrí noticed that Jason was coming closer to him, which made Conrí's entire body feel tingly. He wondered what Jason would do next, and was a little surprised to find himself being embraced. The wolf boy felt his body shudder slightly again, like it had when Jason had touched his shoulder at Mei's. He wondered if Jason noticed, and also wondered why it kept happening. Conrí's arms instinctively wrapped around Jason, and his head instinctively rested on his shoulder. The feeling made him relax almost entirely, but, he started in surprise when Jason called him "dear" in return. He wondered if the blushing was just going to be a permanent feature to his face at this point, but he chuckled and sighed. "If ye're teasing me, boyeen," he whispered into Jason's ear, "I warn ye that ye are entering into a game of wits, and, I'll not be easily beat."
He placed his head back on Jason's shoulder again for a moment when the words clicked. Conrí whispered again, "Good luck getting rid of me," As he said this, a cheeky grin spread across the wolf boy's face, and a hint the light of mischief danced in his eyes.

Jason did in fact notice the shudder, but was too busy enjoying being this close to someone to care. For someone who was afraid of being alone, he kept everyone at arm's length usually. Only a few had ever gotten past that, and never so quickly as now. The feeling was quiet but insistent, like a river flowing to the sea, and about as hard to stop.
He couldn't help but grin at Conrí's challenge though, and it only grew at his last words. "Oh, I think you've met your match in me. Wits are my specialty, and I'm quite proud of them." Now that the tender moment had shifted to something else Jason stood again, helping Conrí up as well before heading over to the refrigerator and pulling out what appeared to be two unlabeled beer bottles, tossing one to Conrí before opening his. "Blackberry mead. Jen and Lucia are pretty good at making it."
After taking a swig of the powerful but smooth drink he grinned again, gesturing around at the building. "Sp, since Lucia hasn't called up back yet we've got some time to kill. Would you like a tour?"

The moment ebbed and flowed, and then was over, though Conrí noticed his challenge had been met with a response. He grinned, and let Jason helped him to his feet. "Grand. Just grand." He watched Jason go to the fridge, and then caught a bottle that was tossed at him. At the mention of blackberry mead, Conrí's eyes started to water a bit. He quickly opened the bottle and took a swig, though, the flavors were a bit dulled due to the amount of saliva that had accumulated in his mouth. The would be king coughed slightly when the burn started to kick in. "Ah, a wee fine liquid." He winked at Jason and smirked. It really does remind me of home. "D'ya know if they'll teach me how to make it? It makes me remember home."
Conrí nodded when Jason suggested going on a tour. "'Spose a bit of a tour wouldn't hurt, and I guess I can settle for the role of follower for now, a stór." This time, not only did Conrí wink, but, he also stuck his tongue out at Jason while he smiled at him. "Oh, this'll be grand craic." Apparently, the alcohol made his accent come out a bit more, and also inhibited his feelings surrounding it.

Jason laughed as Conrí's accent grew stronger. "Alright dear, since we're already on this end I'll show you the garage first. I like that accent, by the way. Don't know why you hide it usually." He walked over to the far end of the kitchen, still holding his bottle, and opened a steel door to reveal a large room with a Gummi Ship in the middle. The ship was a gleaming crimson with purple accents, main body in a narrow cone with swept back wings that curved forward once more before ending in several batteries of cannons each.
"Meet the Alyson, the ship that's saved our asses more times than I can count. Lucia built her during the year before we found each other again, and it's the only reason we lived through finding Celderat again. I'd show you the inside, but for some reason the A.I. doesn't like me anymore."

Conrí took another drink from his bottle, and noticed it was half gone. Shite. Need to take it easy. He did hear Jason's laugh and comment about his accent. "Shite, so, you noticed." The wolf boy sighed, feeling his cheeks flush from the alcohol. He wondered why he hid it. The alcohol must've gone straight to his head, because, without thinking, he just said, "Shame, I suppose. It doesn't exactly sound fitting for a would be king." He shrugged, gazing at all the pictures around of the trio. He noticed Lucia wasn't there, but shook his head slightly. He'd ask later, after the buzzing in his head faded a bit.
When the garage opened, and Conrí saw the ship, he stood still with an open mouth. "Wow." He thought about flying around in the ship, and wondered if he would get to at some point. When he heard Jason tell him that he'd show Conrí the inside, but the A.I. didn't like him anymore, without missing a beat, said, "Maybe ye should try to stop being naughty in the ship and stop pushing her buttons the wrong way." He chuckled and winked. The game, after all was afoot.

Jason laughed again, glad to have someone around that actually enjoyed wits instead of just teasing and pranks. "Hey, it's not my fault that Lucia's kid reprogrammed it to only listen to the two of them. It's pity though, seeing as I'm the best of the three of us at using a joystick." His grin turned cheeky as he finished his innuendo.
Only then did he notice Conrí looking around at the old pictures hanging on the walls, memories of times that weren't better, but at least remembered fondly. "These were some of the only things we recovered from Lucia's old computer on our return to Celderat. Most of them are from before she could even use Twilight! Oh, and we're not related, by the way. Those two are, but I'm a childhood friend of theirs." He doubted that Conrí could recognize Lucia in the pictures, but he might just be able to piece it together with the hints he just got.
If he wasn't too confused about the earlier statement about her kid, at least. That one even hurt his mind, if he stopped to think about it too long.

Conrí nodded, a bit perplexed when Jason mentioned Lucia's unborn child programming the AI. He scratched his head for a second, feeling the buzz in his head starting to clear. He carefully took a sip of his mead, and started choking on it once the innuendo fully clicked in his head, and the wolf boy knew he had to think of some kind of comeback quickly, or this round would indeed go to Jason. "Aye, aye, but, ye've not seen how good I can be in a sword fight," he licked his lips, wondering if he wanted to push it further, and then tactfully added, "Most end in submission." The would be king swirled the mead around in its bottle, wondering if he took things too far, and sipped at the drink again, to hopefully hide his blush.
Conrí nodded a bit and looked at the pictures a bit closer. Oh. He thought, but didn't let it bother him too much. "She's okay with these being up?" I'm not sure I would be. The wolf boy shrugged.
"Where to next?" Conrí touched his head, which hurt a bit from trying to comprehend the kid thing again, but, he decided it was best to just move on from that topic. He chuckled a bit, and then thought with horror, once he realised which rooms were usually in houses and what they had just been bantering about, Lugus, I may have taken the wit thing too far...if he makes that comeback, how do I counter?

A single eyebrow rose as Jason's grin grew into a smirk at Conrí's comeback. It was impressive, to be sure, but the impact was somewhat ruined by the conversation they had just finished. "A sword fight is nice, but I prefer to spice things up a little. That's why I use rope as well when I fight." Technically true -though it occurred to him that Conrí hadn't seen Dusk Shroud yet- yet full of implications.
Once the wolf-king made the connection between the pictures and Lucia Jason nodded and began to head back to the kitchen again, talking as he went. "For some reason she isn't affected by pictures from before her eyes changed. None of us are sure why. As for what's next," he dropped his now empty bottle on the table as he passed, ""we've got the smithy, sim room, and the bedrooms left. Any preference, my Lord?" He just couldn't resist teasing him even now.

Conrí quickly finished his drink, partially out of nerves, and partially because when he saw the eyebrow raise with Jason's smirk, he knew whatever was about to come out of his mouth had to be good, and would also stump him. The buzz made him swoon a little, but also lowered his inhibitions enough so that when Jason brought up ropes, he didn't outright remain silent out of shock. Using the liquid courage to his advantage, and, picking up on how Jason's wit game worked, the wolf boy said simply, "Ropes are nice n'all if ye're into restraining, sure, but, if ye bind me hands, I'd have ta resort to me fists." Conrí wasn't so sure how he managed to pull that off so smoothly, even with the mead in his system.
Conrí followed Jason's example and placed his empty bottle on the table next to his. As Jason listed off the room options, Conrí was keenly aware that he ended with the bedrooms, which was clearly a tease, especially because Jason followed it up with "my lord", which made the wolf boy pause for a second. "As for the rooms, whichever ye prefer," he said with a wink and a chuckle, "But, in all seriousness, I know you said it as a joke, however, I amn't your lord."

Normally Jason was not one to use combat skills to flirt, but Conrí's surprising comeback left him with no choice if he wanted to continue the game. "That would work well, but sometimes," he utilized Doppelganger to create an identical clone, "one just isn't enough." Both the original and the clone laughed as the clone opened the door before vanishing again, proving it had been corporeal.
He calmed down a touch as he realized Conrí din't like his most recent tease, pausing near where the Corridor had been and facing him. "Right, sorry about that. I didn't know it was a sore topic." He still wanted a counter to Conrí's other language though, so he quickly reviewed what he remembered of Celderat's ancient languages. It wasn't much, but it might be enough to work. "Well then, let's go see Lucia's smithy next, lilulf" The combination loosely meant "little wolf," at least as far as old surnames went, and was close enough to modern language to probably guess it's meaning.
Satisfied, he continued through the back of the living room into a clearly modern smithy, complete with several gas forges, a large coal forge o one wall, power hammers and mills, grinding belts... If it could be used to work metal, it was there. "This is where all the armor you've seen us wear was made. Jen and I have newer armor forged on New Yuio, but even then Lucia did it. She's quite skilled, especially now that she's learned Earth magic."

Conrí waited in anticipation for the next comeback. As the silence stretched on, he wondered if he had won this round, and ended up groaning when Jason pulled a fast one on him and there was suddenly a clone next to him. The wolf boy gaped for one quick moment before a sly smirk spread slowly across his face. The light of mischief raged in his eyes. Please, let this actually work, especially since this game keeps twisting in such a fun way. He bowed, "Well, if that's how the game is played," the would be king laughed a little, assuming his wolf form, "I can be a beast if that's what you like." The wit, dirtier though it was coming to his mind, was coming out of his mouth easier as time went on. He reverted to normal. A wide grin was on his face.
When Jason paused and apologised, Conrí shook his head a little. "It's okay. I just haven't forgiven myself yet, but, I will get there." He chuckled when he heard a different language come out of Jason's mouth. It sounded a lot like lil and wolf combined. "I don't mind if you call me that, a stór."
Conrí wandered through the living room and marveled at his Master's forge. "This is so...so charming. Do you think she would make me armor?" The question came out of curiosity, but, the wolf boy quickly lowered his head. "I suppose I shouldn't ask Lucia for things until I've proven I have some skill." He looked at Jason and nodded. "Shall we continue on?"
