Jason was more grateful than ever before when Conrí accepted his hug, savoring the warmth of the closeness between them. As he held his love he thought about his mother for the first time in years, wondering if she'd be proud of him. He had a feeling she would, especially now.
The wolf-king's words soothed the small sting remembering had brought, even as his emerald eyes drew him in with a mysterious power he didn't want to comprehend. His words were soft enough to float on the steam, barely able to travel past the two as they held each other. "I love you too, lilulf mín. More than words could say." His heart beat with the truth of his words, as if trying to convince Conrí on it's own, but Jason didn't care. All that mattered right then was in his arms.

As Jason held him close, Conrí waited for his Love's response, but he could feel the the man's heartbeat steady and true. When Jason finally responded, his heart seemed to beat more sure of itself. The sensation of the words mixing with the feeling of being this close to the person he cared about most made the wolf boy's head spin and feel fuzzy all at once.
The would be king's lips rubbed lightly against Jason's. Conrí felt like he was melting with the heat and steam. He thought for a moment, and decided to cup Jason's chin with his hand and kiss the man softly. The wolf boy's arm tightened around Jason. Part of Conrí wanted to pick up where they left off, but, he ended the kiss and went back to admiring his Love's eyes.
"Chuisle mo chroí, I don't think I am scared of sleeping next to you anymore. Being like this feels like a dream. So, I guess that means that my dreams will be sweet tonight." Conrí smiled widely. He regretfully broke eye contact with his love to look at where the mead was kept. "Should I go get some celebratory mead for having an amazing boyfriend?" The last word just kind of tumbled out of his mouth, and seemed to dance on the air. A slight blush came to the would be king's cheeks.

Jason lost himself in the kiss, barely noticing the passing of time until it was ended. His eyes had shut at some point, a fact he was only aware of when he opened them again as they parted. Words still failed him as he gazed into the wolf-king's eyes, but he heard Conrí's loud and clear.
A moment passed before he finally found his voice, looking over at the hidden fridge with his love. "That sounds perfect, so long as there are still any left after the sisters. They ended up in the ship by the way, so it'll just be us in this half of the house, my cute boyfriend." He blushed a bit even as he tried to tease Conrí, realizing that they actually were boyfriends.

The stillness in the room, save for the sound of the water occasionally moving, both relaxed Conrí and also made him lose track of time in the moment. He also closed his eyes when he noticed Jason close his. Suddenly, the feeling of his lips against Jason's felt more intense, somehow. When he backed away, he realised they were both kind of speechless.
When the wolf boy's love finally spoke, Conrí's heart felt like it leapt into his throat. He nodded, staying silent for a while longer, but, he moved to the fridge to have a look at what was there. He was glad his back was turned to Jason, because, his cheeks darkened considerably as the term was returned to him. He tried to breathe, but, a small squeak came out of his throat instead. "I...guess I should have asked, a stór." The would be king turned to face Jason, "Are ye okay with that?" Asking after the fact seemed weird, but, he pushed the thought away and grabbed a couple of bottles from the fridge.
Conrí returned to his love, and scratched at his right cheek with his forefinger, "You think I'm cute?" He chuckled a little, and then handed Jason a bottle. "This half of the house all to ourselves, huh? How soundly to the sisters sleep?" He meant this as a tease, but it made him blush, even though he winked and stuck out his tongue.

Jason's thoughts raced to rival Jen's as Conrí asked him if he was okay with the term. Somehow he still found a response, though his words began a bit rushed before returning to normal. "Of course! You're actually the second boyfriend I've ever had, and the first was twelve years ago." Had it really been that long? He supposed it had, and it felt two lifetimes ago anyhow.
His blush only grew when his love made him aware of the term he had used, but he made no effort to deny it. Instead, he focused on the next words, the tease a familiar comfort in an unfamiliar situation. "Oh, so you're curious about how much noise we can make then?" The blush was still there, but a sly grin now joined it. "Not only do they sleep like the dead, but the ship and it's hanger are both soundproofed, so we could do a-ny-thing we want~" He knew it was a tease, but he just couldn't help but call his bluff.

Conrí blushed when Jason said he was fine with the term, and then admitted he had had a boyfriend some time ago. The wolf boy nodded slowly. "You're my first anyone." The statement came out quieter than he wished, and, for some reason, he felt some level of discomfort in admitting that, but, the feeling quickly vanished, because the wolf boy knew that Jason might tease him a bit, but, wouldn't likely mind it.
The would be king chuckled a bit and opened his bottle of mead, noticing Jason's blush when it clicked that he had called Conrí cute. He stepped a little closer to the crimson eyed one and whispered in his ear. "When you look like this, you're cute, too, chuisle." Conrí kissed Jason's jaw as he backed away, winking playfully.
He raised the bottle to his lips to take a drink, and knew he was instead frozen with widened eyes when Jason explained that the sisters wouldn't be made aware of shenanigans. He quickly fired back, "Níl, a stór, I wanted to see how much noise I could get you to make." Conrí struggled to keep from laughing outright, though, the laughter shone in his eyes, if Jason was keen enough to see it.
When the wolf boy heard the rest of Jason's comeback, he nearly dropped his mead in the bath and found himself frozen in the rigid stance that the druids taught him. Part of him heard the druid master reprimanding them for their actions, which shocked him a bit. "Anything, huh?" Conrí smirked, "Okay, is there anything fun we could do, like, video games?" At this, he stuck out his tongue and chuckled slightly. "This bath is too good to leave just yet, though."

Jason's blush deepened almost to match his eyes at Conrí's casual comeback, only his momentum allowing him to finish his words before his racing thoughts ground to a halt. Only one remained after, that being a simple "please" that later made him very glad Jen's telepathy link had long since dissolved.
His love being flustered by his last words was only a slight victory, but it did give him enough time to recover and react to what must have been payback for during the movie. All he could do was laugh and drink some of his mead, very sure to do it in that order, before responding. "Being clever, I see. Most of the games are in the living room, but with the soundproofing it won't matter. I bet you haven't played all that many though. Don't worry, I'll let you use my controller if you ask." Another wink, and the game was afoot once more.

Conrí almost chortled when he noticed Jason's blush, and that snapped him out of his stance. His eyes went from mirthful to glinting in an instant. He also noted that Jason was careful to laugh and then drink his mead. The wolf boy tilted his head to the right for a second before straightening himself again.
He nearly clicked his tongue, but instead took a decent gulp of his own mead. The would be king circled around his love slowly, before draping his arm over the man's shoulders. He took one last swig of his mead, before he whispered, "It doesn't matter how many I've played, chuisle, and, the living room sounds like fun, but... this tutorial has been interesting."
He slid his arm off of Jason while he moved so that he was facing Jason. He pressed his forehead against Jason's and stared at him for a moment, "It's been an interesting tutorial because, I have a pretty good idea of what buttons I need to push, and, besides, something tells me that it wouldn't be that hard to take control of your controller." He returned Jason's wink with one of his own, "Because, maybe, just maybe, I had every intention of taking the controller before you had a chance to notice what was going on."
Conrí cleared his throat and backed away from Jason a bit, needing some time to still his quickened heart. He casually drank his mead as though he hadn't stirred up his own thoughts about where he wanted this scenario to go. He shook his head slightly. "A stór, sorry if I took that too far. Ye gave me a challenge. I want to win this one," he said with a laugh.

As Conrí began circling him Jason thought he knew what a deer felt as it was stalked by a wolf. A fitting analogy, but one of little comfort as the wolf-king began whispering to him. Had he really been seen through that easily? The situation had brought up feelings even he didn't know he had, creating an exciting confusion akin to a first ride on a roller coaster; you don't know what's going to happen, but you're pretty sure you'll like it.
Then came the killing blow, accompanied by a wink and a grin, and suddenly Jason was glad that Conrí had backed up right after. He attempted to hide his blush -and other things- within the steam of the bath as he sat in the water as quickly as he dared, but the damage had been done. Even Conrí's apology took a moment to register through the dazed expression on Jason's face, seconds passing before he could reply. "You took the challenge and won, love-all. I have nothing else, unless you want me. At this point, I wouldn't even mind." He only realized his own words afterwards, but his blush couldn't get any redder as it was.

Conrí winced a little as Jason sat down in the bath. He was certain he'd made his target, and also pretty sure he'd taken things a bit too far for a simple game of wits. The wolf boy finished his mead, and felt like it went to his head a bit.
When his love admitted defeat, Conrí smiled a bit, though he wasn't quite so sure what to do now. The would be king chuckled a bit as he realised Jason was still nearly matching his eyes. "A stór," he said finally, cautiously walking towards Jason a bit, "I know before ye said that ye didn't want to be afraid. I don't think we're afraid anymore."
The wolf boy sighed, "But, I also want us to at least have somewhat clear heads. I know I talked a big game, but, well, you're my first boyfriend. You're my first everything in that regard, and, I don't want you to feel like I betrayed your expectations."
He sat next to Jason. "That said, if we decide rationally after this that we enjoy each other's company in that way, then, in truth I don't think I'd mind it either." Conrí gave space and silence for Jason to decide for himself. The wolf boy really didn't want to rush things.

Jason glanced at his mead bottle, somehow empty at this point, then back at Conrí as he sat next to him. His first thought was to toss the bottle across the room and just for it, but the fact that that was his first thought revealed to him just how much the mead had affected him. Apparently the stress of the day, the heat of the bath, and the strength of the drink had made him much less sober than he had thought.
His blush faded slowly as he chuckled at himself, slowly placing the bottle at the edge of the bath before turning back to his love. "You're absolutely right, lilulf mín. My head is about as clear as a pile of dirt right now, and about as clean too. But," he touched Conrí's cheek tenderly, "you're also wrong. There's no way you'd betray my expectations, because you happy is all they are. And for that reason I'm happy to wait as long as you want." He leaned in and gave the wolf-king a kiss as tender as his touch had been, ending after a few seconds before whispering to him. "Thank you for being so wonderful."

Conrí exhaled slowly, wondering if he had done the right thing. Slowing things down was harder than he thought, and, this was only their first date, technically. He watched Jason closely. If his love somehow just "charged" at him, as his look was starting to suggest, the wolf boy knew that he probably couldn't stop himself from reciprocating the passion. The would be king soon felt like apologising for having such thoughts, but, the fact that they would be in the same bed regardless also made things more tempting.
Conrí almost flinched when Jason finally spoke. His admission of the state of his own mind made the wolf boy relax a bit, somehow. Despite it's gentleness, Jason's soft caress to the would be king's cheek made him shudder. Conrí supposed his head was clearing when he heard Jason say that he was willing to wait until whenever his lilluf min wanted, because he opened his mouth to fire off a quip, only to be done in by Jason kissing him just as softly as he'd touching his cheek, which elicited a soft, muffled moan from Conrí, who fought to not pull him back into another kiss, just as stunned that someone would think he was wonderful.
The wolf boy's eyes moved back and forth quickly but stayed focused on his love's crimson eyes. "In Tir Tairngire, it is customary to be...uh..." Conrí felt a different kind of blush come over him, "wed before..." He barely whispered out that part, something else finally clicking into place for him. The would be king grabbed Jason's hand very carefully, biting his lip. "I know it's much too early to speak of such things, and, I fully understand if you can't think like that, or, if such a practice is uncommon or undesirable to you." The wolf boy knew he was blushing furiously again.
Conrí's free hand scratched the back of his head nervously. "I'm not suggesting that I want to wait that long," Or that I can wait until that time as things progress....Fen'd have me head on a plate right about now. "but I do think I found a goal that exceeds that month idea, and, I know for a fact that if this is our first date, our trajectory of taking it slow is going to be rife with times like this." Conrí gently pulled Jason into a hug. "I guess seeing you almost die really, really scared me, chuisle," he whispered, his heart pounding. He'd never been so scared of silence before in his life.

Listening to his love's words helped Jason collect himself a bit more, just enough to not giggle like a schoolboy at the mention of marriage or the verbal backtracking he attempted after. He was tempted to interrupt and remind the wolf-king about how both of his best friends were married, but chose to see just how deep a hole he would dig first.
He was glad he did when Conrí mentioned at the very end his near death, completely changing the mood of what Jason was going to say. Rather than a cheeky comment or a teasing reminder he gave him a gentle hug, speaking softly from his shoulder. "I'm so sorry you saw that. I wasn't even thinking about what it would do to you to see me like that."
He pulled away slightly, just enough to place his hands on Conrí's shoulders and look him in the eye before continuing. "Please believe that I never would have done that if I didn't have a way to save myself. Using our Aspects heals any wound a Celderatian has, no matter how deadly. So long as I have that, I basically have an extra life. And even if I lack that, both Jen and Lucia could have sensed my heart and saved me with healing magic. I'd never gamble with something that isn't mine, and my heart already belongs to you."

Conrí started to shake before Jason hugged him. He could see the light of mischief in his love's eyes, and wondered what kind of wit awaited him now. He closed his eyes, only to hear Jason's apology, which made him tear up. "Nîl, a stór," he said, taking a breath and shaking his head. "I don't blame ye. It was the best course of action at the time. The hardest thing was following your instructions and not moving."
The rest of the crimson eyed one's words relaxed and reassured the wolf boy. The very last line caused a fool grin to appear on the would be king's face. He laughed a little. Conrí placed his hand on Jason's chest and then put Jason's hand on his. "And you are the pulse of my heart, my love." He leaned in and kissed Jason gently. When he backed away a bit, he remembered can the light of mischief that had been there in those crimson eyes before the conversation turned serious. The wolf boy decided to give Jason an opening.
With a sly smirk and a wink, he asked, "Since ye designated me as the cute one, does that mean I should start looking for the dress or wait for you to pop the question?" Conrí stuck out his tongue and barely held back the laugh from his voice. He had to wonder how his love would react. The would be king did hope that his dig didn't push too far.

A grin appeared as Conrí decided to give Jason an opening for some reason, thought the mention of marriage yet again did bring a touch of a blush back to his cheeks. Still, it was a chance to return to the game they both so loved, and he jumped at it. "You'd look much better in a decent tux. I knew there was a reason I ended up with both bouquets at the double wedding."
His laugh proved the tease -though he actually had caught one of them- before he tapped Conrí on the nose and spoke in a more sultry tone. "As for popping the question, let's see how the next few weeks go first. There's going to be a lot of changes for all of us during that time."

As Conrí heard Jason's comment about a decent tux, his brain instantly instead wandered off to the ceremonial kilt he had, somewhere, anyway. The realisation that he was actually picturing himself and Jason at a ceremony was making him feel light-headed and blush.
Still, by now, the wolf boy knew that this was part of the game, and Jason would likely always try to throw him off as the first move. As well as it worked, the move was also easily exploitable. Conrí very purposefully scanned Jason's physique, a small smirk touching his lips. "Funny, because ye look pretty nice right now, and, who said anything about it being a civilised ceremony?" The would be king stuck out his tongue.
When he heard that Jason caught both bouquets, he chuckled, "Man, I bet they were aiming for you, huh?" He winked.
When Jason booped his nose, the wolf boy instinctively jumped back and covered it with his hands, much like a dog would have. "What's happening in a few weeks?" Conrí desperately praying the answer wouldn't include fighting. "Don't tell me ye're going to make me forge a ring out of a scary volcano or something."

Jason's blush was only slightly affected by Conrí's compliment and suggestion, thanks to the culture he was raised in. He had actually been to a few ceremonies where the old "skyclad" tradition was still the norm during his time in the military. They hadn't been very civilized either.
He made a mental note not to mess with the wolf-king's nose after seeing his reaction, though he had an absurd idea to try rubbing his ears as well, before deciding to save that idea for another time and place. His love's question made him laugh for a moment as he caught the reference. "Don't worry, it's nothing like that."
As he continued he grew serious again, his tone somber yet gentle. "For you the next few weeks will involve starting training and getting to know us better. Though," even serious he gave him a wink and a quick smile, "you know me pretty well already. For us though, there's a lot to get used to that has to do with what we'll tell you tomorrow."

Conrí smiled a bit at Jason's blush, and then realised that the slightly distant look on his face probably meant that Jason was remembering something. The wolf boy thought about pouncing on this unintentional opening, but, decided against it.
The would be king also noticed that the bath water felt cool, despite the steam, and made a note to get out of the water. He thought he saw a scheming glint in his love's crimson eyes, and guessed that it might have something to do with how he reacted to getting poked on the nose. Thank Lugus I don't have a tail on my body, unless I'm in a form.
Conrí looked down a bit, reminded that he still didn't have all the information, and that his main objective was to train under Lucia, but, getting swept off his feet had just kind of happened. He logically knew that sleep should happen soon, but, suddenly, he wasn't tired--he was nervous, wondering what would happen if he didn't make it through the next few weeks. Not saying anything, due to retreating into himself, which, still felt empty without Fenrir around, he looked at Jason and got out of the bath.
Meticulously, Conrí dried himself and wrapped the towel around him. He hated hitting a wall like this. Without much thought as to how Jason was going to react to it, he summoned Lugus and studied the blade, wondering if he was worthy of it, or if he would fail this one, too.
Sighing heavily, he dismissed the blade and looked back at his love. In those crimson eyes, Conrí's fears vanished. "Maybe I'm looking forward to getting to know you better tonight," he said with a wink that was supposed to be playful, but may have come off as suggestive. Apparently, being nervous made the wolf boy become forward. I'm likely to be up all night either holding him, knowing him, or training on my own at this rate, anyway, so, let's see what move he makes. Nervousness also made the would be king reckless, he discovered.

Even distracted by his own thoughts Jason could tell that Conrí was suddenly more distant once he mentioned the training. Worried, he quickly followed him out of the bath before drying himself off quickly, imitating Conrí with the towel wrap. Just as he was about to speak the wolf-king summoned his keyblade, only to stare at it and sigh before it vanished once more.
Jason was glad his presence seemed to comfort him a little at least. Though he was still concerned he resolved to let Lucia handle those particular doubts as he let out a great yawn and grinned again. "That sounds enticing, but I think I'd prefer to get some sleep tonight. Come on, let's get out of here at least." He waved his hand to follow before slipping out the door and into his room.
Stifling another yawn he walked over to the bed and plopped down, the enchanted towel around his waist keeping any water from leaking into the comforter as he glanced back at the door. "You want something to wear, or do you prefer to sleep in the buff?"

Conrí suspected that he had worried Jason, because there was something of a tense silence in the air. Once the wolf boy dismissed Lugus, he heard Jason yawn, and make his choice of sleep. Conrí chuckled slightly, hoping that his love didn't pick up on the slightly darker tone of it. I guess knowing him is off the table for tonight. Probably for the best, anyway. Guess that leaves holding him or training on my own.
Even as the wolf boy thought this, he knew that holding Jason close and trying to rest was the wiser choice, but, training had always brought him a level of comfort and time to clear his mind. When Jason waved, he followed, stopping outside the door to pick up Claiomh Solais. His thumb instinctively touched the hilt as though he was going to unsheath the blade, and then he remembered his vision from earlier that day, and a chill went down his spine.
Conrí blushed a bit when he saw Jason just sprawled out on the bed in the towel. He yawned again, making the would be king feel tired, at least, a little bit. When asked if he slept with clothes on, Conrí looked at Jason's dresser, and made a quick quip, "The last time I slept unclothed, I was surrounded by druid masters and fellow trainees in the cold of winter. They did this to test our resolve. Those who made it through that were gifted with an unadorned cloak." Speaking of his druid cloak made Conrí want to wear it.
Suddenly, he felt Fen's presence for a second, and the cloak seemed to drop out of the sky. The wolf boy smiled a little, though most of him still felt detatched. He wrapped the garment around him and then dropped his towel. The would be king placed himself next to Jason's feet and sighed again.
He pointed at the different colored cords woven into his cloak. "This one marks me as skilled in sensing spirits and able to enter their realm." He moved to the next cord. "This marks me as one of the top fighters in the trainings." The next one. "This shows my affinity for magic." Finally, his hand went to a cord that was silver and half inlaid with gold. "This one is unfinished. It marks me as the one who pulled the sword from the stone. I was supposed to take my place on the throne, because Claiomh Solais chose me, but..."
Conrí forced himself to look at Jason as he said the next line, "I chose to sleep naked in the cold and earn the other cords before they could hand me the otherwise ceremonial display. Only the ancient kings did such a thing, according to Fenrir, and, my father wasn't pleased."
The would be king looked away from Jason and back at the sword in its sheath. He swallowed, and drew the blade, hoping that it wouldn't be too tarnished like he'd seen in his vision. To his dismay, thin lines of darkness had indeed appeared on the blade, and Conrí hung his head, even though he felt the will to transform coming from the blade. "When you told me to let Tori hit you, I saw, but closed my eyes. Otherwise, I would have disobeyed you. When I did that, this blade was sticking out of a platform on my heart with darkness flowing into and away from it. Before I could reach out to it, you came for me."
Conrí barely noticed he'd put the sword down and curled up at his love's feet. "That blade wants to change. I fear giving into that darkness may be the key." A stór," the wolf boy said seriously, "When that happens, be you angel or that hell beast, ye may have to face me like that, because I will lose control." The would be king hated that all of this was spilling out now, given the weight of earlier. "I can learn to reduce it's rage, and kind of command it, but, not that first time."
Conrí forced himself to stay where he was, instead of wander off to the sim room.
