Glancing at Kujo with a bit of annoyance, Jack listened quietly. And so did the other two- as Kujo began to start his explanation about what Jack seemingly "didn't know about", everyone else remained silent.
Until he mentioned a "clicking" sound. Jack immediately perked up, with a fiery gaze in his eyes. He wasn't just certain of it, he knew what he'd heard. Just like Kujo, Jack remembered hearing a click of sorts. With the strange sword that came alongside the events after defeating the Demon Tower, the fact that his sister didn't pick up any Heartless ever since then made things even more confusing.
Taking a deep breath, Jack sulked into the couch, arms crossed and eyes closed. A moment of silence followed after Kujo finished with his question, but Jack seemingly ignored it for a while, as he tried to make a line of the events that happened that day in his head, to clear some of his own doubts.
"He's not wrong..." he thought to himself, "After that Heartless was defeated, there was somethin' else... Right! Something pulled my hand wielding that blade to move upwards... Then there was that clicking! And then... Yeah... That voice I kept hearing..."
Nodding with reassurance, Jack opened his eyes, looking at no one in particularly -shifting from Kujo, to M'Lyn and then to Alice. While he had explained some things before, recently after the events that happened, there were other details left out.
"I know what happened" Jack retorted, "It's just I never got the chance to say it. Remember? Alice cut me off, 'cause she was worried." "That's not an excuse for keeping shut, though!" Alice replied quickly, flustered. "I ain't usin' it as an excuse, sis. But we were focused on so many things at the same time, it just slipped." "Then? What do you have to say?" M'Lyn asked. "Well... I remember what Kujo's talkin' about. I guess the coms shut down temporarilly, since they're so sensible 'n' all... So" Jack looked at the ceiling by a glance, "Right before the click... There was this small light thingy that showed up, remember? Looked kinda like a keyhole of sorts, right? My arm was suddenly pulled upwards, like this" as he spoke, Jack summoned the blade again, and rose his arm until it was perpendicular to his chest, straight pointing forward, "And then light shot from the end of it. Right? Soon after, this thing and that keyhole-looking-thingy just... Poofed."
Waving his hands in an explosive motion, Jack slumped yet again to the couch, without anything else to say. Not that he could've, since that was all he could really explain. Everything else was just... Mostly up to anyone's imagination. Alice in particular was wondering about it, about that "keyhole" her brother just mentioned. She tried searching for it in their databanks, but nothing came up.
Although one thing was for certain: whatever Jack did threw the Heartless out for good. At the very least, they didn't seem to be as proactive as before. If that was the case, then maybe some were still roaming around, but nothing Kujo or anyone else with a weapon couldn't handle.
"Hmm... Maybe we should share some intel about the Heartless with---" "Don't" Jack replied coldly. "Huh?" "Besides Kujo, we trust no one else. Who's to say what they'd do with the info? They might end up dragging them back, right?" "But what if they show up again?" M'Lyn asked, stern, "You're awfully confident all of the sudden." "Call it a gut kick of sorts, but I'm sure the Heartless are a goner. At least, they ain't gonna be as proactive as before. That means some may be still around, but definitely small fry. Anyone can take 'em out, no sweat."
The two girls crossed a look between each other, before looking back at Jack. As for him, his face didn't show any signs of malice behind them -an honest face with a serious topic. If Jack was so certain about that detail in particular with what seemed to be evidence in his favor...
Why doubt?

”I know what happened” It was an answer Kujo had least expected. Raising an eyebrow at the tech savvy guy, he listened silently to Jack’s explanation. Keyhole? At the mention of such a thing, Kujo only looked off in the distance—had there been such a thing? If there had been, he hadn’t caught it, even with his Akogare. Everything had just been blinding. But what does that Keyhole mean? Kujo was a good judge of character—he didn’t peg Jack as the lying mischievous type. Something about that weapon… It wasn’t normal, that was for certain. As Jack summoned it to conduct his demonstration, Kujo’s emerald gaze remained steady on the odd sword.
Something about the sword made it so I couldn’t see. It was the only option Kujo could come up with. Why else would such a powerful aura disrupt communications and blind others? It was clearly a function only the wielder was meant to see. While Alice and Jack began to shoot their back and forth, Kujo remained leaning against the back of the couch with his arms crossed, deep in concentration. Mentioning how the Heartless were most likely either gone or heavily reduced due to the odd-weapon’s abilities, Kujo finally turned to look down at Jack on the couch. ”Just because the Heartless are gone doesn’t mean our investigation is over.”
It was clear that Jack had no idea how that ‘Keyblade’ of his worked—or what exactly caused the odd event to occur. Shoving a hand into his pocket and pointing at Jack with another, Kujo’s usual stoic and stoney look continued to mask him. ”This could just be them biding their time, for all we know. We still don’t understand anything about that weapon.” Now it was to the Keyblade Jack held in his hands that Kujo pointed, his emerald eyes pinned to the oddity. ”If we’re doing anything, we should figure out what it was that triggered whatever happened that night—and what it did.” It wasn’t an easy task.
As far as Kujo was aware, they had expended all of their resources and knowledge finding out what little they could about this mysterious ‘Keyblade’. Surely there were others that knew about such a thing? It can’t be the only one of its kind… It was just a hunch, but one he was willing to follow through on. Glancing over to Alice and M’Lyn, Kujo raised a brow as both hands rested in his pockets, ready for action at a moments notice. ”Isn’t there anything like this on another world?” It wasn’t just a fantastic idea for him to entertain—it was a certain fact. After all he had been through and seen, there was no denying it. Other worlds existed—bringing all their problems and solutions along with them.
”If we can’t get any info on Jack’s weird weapon or what it does the usual way—“ A look of fiery determination suddenly appeared in his eyes, perhaps even causing one to remember the fierce gaze of Kokoroki Tanaka. ”—why don't we look for others who've seen the same thing?”

”Just because the Heartless are gone doesn’t mean our investigation is over.”
Kujo's comment, followed by his explanation, didn't sit quite well with Jack. The other two, Alice in particular, didn't know exactly what to say, as it seemed like things were slowly escalating.
”—why don't we look for others who've seen the same thing?” "Easier said than done" Jack said, standing up and crossing his arms, "Can't say for certain how long it'll take, and time's not something the Brigade can afford to spend. Besides... Our goal wasn't the Heartless, remember? Only reason we stood here was because of you, and the help you gave us before, when we first met. After that, it was just us giving your reward back, by lending you a hand. But after the Heartless were gone... Well, we cleared the deal." "That's a cold way to put it, though..." Alice sighed, but then looked at Kujo, "But Jack's right. We don't move on our own -we're told where to go. We're a sub-unit, remember? Not an independant unit."
Glaring at Kujo, Jack stood his ground. Having his sister's backup, and M'Lyn just watching at this point due to her lack of knowledge regarding the Brigade's work policies, it was 2 against 1. Firm and straight, Jack didn't move from his spot, almost imitating Kujo's stoic glance. One could tell just how serious he was.
"Say we do find somewhere that has the answers..." Jack said, clossing his eyes and nodding, "Even if that's the case, you're not coming with us. Like it or not, this world is the only place you can stay at. We can't take anyone with us outside their worlds of origin. World Order, remember?" "Basically..." Alice said, calmly, "We're not allowed to recruit anyone on our own. We'd have to ask Elena or Jake for it. M'Lyn's with us because she joined us while she was in our world. And the only reason for it was in order to return to her own world." "Once we know for certain which world she belongs to..." Jack looked at M'Lyn, who looked calmly and unflinching at the discussion, "The contract ends. She goes her way, and we go ours."
Finishing his line, Jack took a deep breath. He knew what Kujo wanted, but it wasn't going to be easy.
If he wanted to join, no matter how strong he was or how capable he could be, Kujo would have to settle a few things beforehand. Mostly with the higher ups coordinating the group's movements throughout the worlds outside -Elena.

Tch—he’s more difficult than usual. Kujo listened to Jack, looking at him from over his shoulder as his face soured with his explanation. Sure, the deal they had struck was done—but how could he not want to know more? ”But Jack’s right. We don’t move on our own—we’re told where to go. We’re a sub-unit, remember?” Alice’s sudden clarity caused the irritation that was beginning to raise in Kujo to vanish. With an exasperated sigh, he finally pushed off from the couch and turned to look at Jack, who had also stood. That’s why he’s being so stubborn.
How could he have not realized? Of course Jack couldn’t just run off to find out more about the odd weapon he now possessed—he was essentially under contract himself. If he left, would it make him a criminal? That’s typically how most military units worked, right? It was indeed a cruel and harsh reality. ”Like it or not, this world is the only place you can stay at. We can’t take anyone with us outside their worlds of origin. World Order, remember?” Jack’s sudden parroting of rules was beginning to exhaust him. Once again, Alice chimed in with news that relieved him. So it’s not impossible… Still determined, Kujo listened silently to Jack’s closing statements before taking a moment to digest it all.
Lifting a hand to his chin in thought, he mulled over his options. There were too many loose ends, his worlds safety wasn’t guaranteed—but whatever military unit Jack seemed to report to didn’t seem to prioritize the Heartless threat. ”Don’t get me wrong, Jack—I respect the fact that you’ve gotta follow rules and work within certain bounds…” Resting his hands in his pockets, Kujo wondered about what the ‘higher-ups’ were like. ”But we’re way past ‘World Order’ security, here.” There was a slight smirk on his face—a teasing glint in his eye.
”If memory serves—we already broke that rule.” Holding up a hand with a raised finger, Kujo’s face returned to its usual composure. ”I know it’s not a decision any of us get to make, that’s for this ‘Elena’ and ‘Jake’ to decide…but I’m not ready to let things end yet.” Shoving his hand back into his pocket, Kujo looked down at the floor. ”I’m not going to find out anything on this world—about my own powers or yours.” Looking between Alice, Jack and M’Lyn, Kujo's face was fixed in determination. Being serious about his goals, Kujo was willing to play along with a few rules in order to secure his own worlds safety.
”Well—give me a shot, then. Let me meet with the ‘higher-ups’.” He was sure it wouldn’t be easy—but at least Jack would know he was serious. ”Unless this is just your way of sayin’ you don’t wanna work with me.” At the last sentence, Kujo grinned a bit as he crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at Jack in mild humor.

"Tch..."
Jack clicked his tongue ever so silently, but not in a mocking matter whatsoever. Kujo was just as adamant as he was, albeit with a different goal in mind. Without looking at him, Jack drew a faint smirk, a bit amused at his words at the end.
"If I didn't want to work with you, I would've just told you to leave, dumbass" Jack sighed, "'Sides, the 'World Order' is more than just keeping the world's nature a secret, y'know? But... I bet you'll just figure it out yourself." "You going somewhere?" Alice asked calmly. Yeah... I just need a damn break, for once." "I'll also take my leave for the time being" M'Lyn followed calmly, "Being honest, I don't think my precense is needed here any longer. And all things considered... I do want to call it a day for now."
Both Jack and M'Lyn left Kujo and Alice back at the lounge, each going their separate ways. Alice, sighing yet again but with a bit of humor behind it, stood up, and looked at Kujo. Since he wanted to talk with their "higher-ups", she would just need to set up a couple things.
"Well, then..." she began, grabbing her little screen in her hands, "If you wanna talk with Elena... Then we better get started, right? The quicker, the better -for all of us. So.." with a bit of hesitation, she handed over the screen, but with a glare in her eyes, "You won't toss it, right?"
Behind those eyes lied a rather bitter memory -one that definitely was still vivid inside Alice's mind. Maybe the grudge had gone a bit too far, however...
Regardless of Kujo's answer (even though Alice trusted him enough), the sound reminiscing of a call-in began to play in the earpieces Kujo and Alice had. After a couple seconds, the call had been picked up.
"...Alice? What is it?" "Hey, Elena!" Alice said cheerfully. "Hmm? And who's he?"
A grown woman with semi-long blue hair and eyes had appeared on the screen, looking directly at Kujo. Having heard Alice waving at her cheerfully, one could only assume her identity -Elena.
"He's someone who's been working with us, but... He wants to join. So..." "...Ah. I see. Well then... Mind leaving the two of us for a few seconds?" "Eeeh~...?" "Don't worry! I won't do anything any of you would find rude. Promise." "Okay..."
After Alice left, closing the door behind her, Elena took a deep breath, her expression quickly changing to a serious one, looking straight at Kujo.
"So then... Why exactly do you want to join?" she asked, seriously, "...And what exactly are your motives? Depending on what you answer... I might decide whether or not you'll go with them or not."

Kujo couldn’t help but grin as Jack seemed to cave, leaving the room shortly followed by M’Lyn. ”Well then…” Alice stood, having been the only remaining party member. ”If you wanna talk with Elena…then we better get started, right?” Kujo’s face didn’t betray the slight astonishment he felt. He had known Alice was a bit of a serious girl at times, but to think she’d really get down to business so fast was chilling. ”You won’t toss it, right?” The look in her eyes caused Kujo to immediately avert his gaze as he nodded, giving a soft tch with his teeth. An image of his mother, Kokoroki, flashed into his mind. Damned woman…
Ring! Ring! The sudden chirping in his ear caused him to straighten, his eyebrows raising slightly. The earpiece was still something he was getting used to. ”…Alice? What is it?” Elena was quick to respond to the call—soon appearing on the screen of the device Alice had handed to Kujo moments before. Blinking in mild surprise, Kujo nodded and stared back at the blue-haired woman on the screen as Alice set up a mild introduction before exiting the room. ”I’m Kujo Tanaka—nice to meet you.” It had been years since he had done anything like an interview. ”So then…why exactly do you want to join?” It seemed this Elena woman was quick to get to the point. He appreciated and respected that.
Waiting until she finished her questions and explanations, Kujo had a look of determination on his face as he spoke while looking at the woman on the display. ”Why I want to join—“ For a moment, he closed his eyes and took a breath. There’re a few reasons… He’d be upfront with her—that was the kind of guy he wanted to show her he was. Opening his eyes, the man had a new glinting fire brimming within his emerald gaze. ”—to make sure my world stays safe. There’s a lot of inner workings amongst the worlds I don’t understand. There’s no way for me to protect my own if I’m ignorant about what exists out there. I need to learn more, see more, and do more.” His face was as stoic as ever as he spoke, though his tone betrayed his passion.
”There’s also somethin’ about the team you’ve got here, Elena…” For a moment, his eyes flashed to the exit that all three had left through. ”They’re good people with a lotta potential—I kinda wanna help 'em out longer.”

Elena nodded calmly at his first reasoning. It wasn't unusual, after all -someone wanting to learn about things that happened outside their own bubble was just as common there as anywhere. His second reasoning, however, sounded a bit...
Vague. Elena couldn't tell whether he was saying it earnestly, or out of some ill motive.
"Care to explain that last bit?" she asked, coldly, "While I do see that you're upfront about your resons for joining, there's something bothering me here..."
"What exactly is it that makes you want to stay with Jack, M'Lyn and Alice?" Elena glared faintly, "If it was only to learn about the things happening outside your world, then I guess I could let it slide. You don't seem like the type to use information for ill will. However... I can't say the same when it comes to people. At least, that's the sort of personality I get from your previous response."
"I'll say it straight. If you have an interest on the team because of however they work or whatever they chase after, then I'll consider it. But if you intent to do anything to them, be it betrayal or setting them up... I'll inform you that I won't let that happen, regardless of where I currently am. I won't take anyone who may put them, or anyone else, in danger. You hear? I won't fall for that trick a second time -that is a promise I made to myself."
Elena's glare and icy tone only helped to deepen her resolve to protect the group from whatever she was talking about. While she did acknowledge Kujo as upfront with his reasons and will to learn things in order to protect his own world, she still wasn't sure whether she could entrust the team to him.
Maybe it was like a motherly-type of protection, but Elena's expression didn't show any signs of wanting to lose them. She was determined to keep them safe at all cost. Just as with the many other units at her command.
"...So then. Care to answer?"

Kujo felt a weight off his shoulders as he watched Elena nod along as he spoke. It seemed that his reasons were being deemed ‘acceptable’—”Care to explain that last bit?” There was a sudden ice in the woman’s voice, coming over the small earpiece as Kujo watched her eyes narrow and glare from the screen. T-the hell? Why was he getting the image of his mother in his head right now? They have the same glare… Yikes. ”I’ll say it straight. If you have an interest in the team because of however they work or whatever they chase after, then I’ll consider it.” Wasn’t that what he had just said? Did that make him in the clear?
”But if you intend to do anything to them, be it betrayal or setting them up…” Kujo’s face for once showed genuine surprised as he blinked down at the small screen in his hands. What?! Was that what her glare had been?! Damn—didn’t think I came off like that… It was disheartening, sure, but it wouldn’t damper his fiery determination. ”…So then. Care to answer?” Elena was staring at him expectantly over the display, calmly waiting for an answer while coiling and preparing to strike. Definitely like her… The similarities were beginning to give him chills.
Would it be like working for his mom? Grimacing slightly, Kujo stared lively with the woman over the phone. ”I think you’ve misunderstood something.” Sighing a bit, Kujo sat on the couch that was near him, holding the display up so Elena could still see him. ”I trust those guys to watch my back—and I watch theirs in return.” He sat up straight on the couch, a look of dignity coming across him as he solidified his determination. ”I don’t know how I come off to you…but I don’t take things like promises lightly. Silent or spoken.”
With that, he leaned back in the couch, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. At least now, even if he was denied, he had been honest and open. Hopefully, that would be enough.

"If that's the case, then..."
Elena went silent after making her assumptions, nodding her head every now and then. Thanks to her insistance, she got the aclaration she needed to hear -Kujo trusted them. He trusted them enough to say that he'd cover them back. Now that wasn't something she would see often.
Trust was a fragile and rare thing in her eyes.
"Sorry if it sounded as if I didn't trust you, but you can probably guess why" she smirked faintly, shaking her head, "It's just that you wouldn't be the first one trying to fill the ranks for some ulterior motive. Hopefully you understand."
"Well then, I suppose I should fill you up on the basics" Elena's seemingly sudden change in expression could remind anyone of a particular someone, but it seemed like it had a reason unlike the previous one, "Oh, by the by... Sorry if I startled you. I guess I've gotten used to being two-faced when it comes to this kind of interview... I'm not like this most of the time, though. Just a heads up."
After a faint chuckle, Elena seemed to type for a while before looking back at Kujo. With things now settled, it was about time to give him a proper introduction.
"So... A few rules to get you started... I take it Alice or Jack gave you a com prior to all this?" she asked, not really waiting for a reply, "I'll go over the more basic of rules, since you applying and Jack allowing you to call me means that most of them are cleared, so..." she cleared her throat before continuing, "First and foremost: your main goal while you work with us is to gather intel. Whatever sort you think may help. Jack can fill you up there, since the term is rather vague... Second: you're not allowed to ask for civilians for help free of charge. That is to say... People can as you for help, no strings attached, but not the same for you -it's mainly just to avoid issues later... Sorta. The whole explanation is kinda long."
"Next up... There's only 2 sittuations that can force you out of the Brigade. Either a betrayal act, or sabotaging/breaking the com you're given on purpose. This is mainly to avoid snitches. Not only that, but cutting communications on purpose would straight up just leave you stranded wherever you are, so it's really not in your favor. Only exception to this last bit is Code White. While I trust that either Jack or Alice will explain it later, I'll give you the summary: you issue your Nav to cut communications with your com, in specific cases such as possible enemy hijack or if the mission requires complete stealth. Whatever happens after you issue this code is your responsability, so it's quite rare to use it."
"And... That should do it" Elena nodded, "You can just let them know that I let you go with them. I'll simply cut the transmition. Although... I'd appreciate it if you gave the others their next assignment, which just so happens to be your first one..."
"I'll be giving Alice the coords soon enough, but... You'll be going to another world where you might find some useful intel. Not only that, but... I believe you guys could lend a helping hand on the sittuation there."
"That's all. Welcome to the group! Hopefully you don't regret your decision so early."

As Elena went through her explanation of doubting him, Kujo found himself nodding along with a certain respect. Why not be suspicious of a stranger trying to get involved? He’d act the same way. She’s good. Her sudden changes in expression didn’t phase him much—as Kujo had grown up accustomed to such things. Relief and a surge of energy from admission to join washed over him, though his face remained as stoic and blank as ever. He too was accustomed to a certain ‘face’. At the mention of their assignment, Kujo straightened a bit, attentive as Elena explained.
”You’ll be going to another world where you might find some useful intel.” The mention of this really hit home to Kujo that he was a working member now. Other worlds… What would it be like? ”I believe you guys could lend a helping hand to the situation there. That’s all. Welcome to the group! Hopefully you don’t regret your decision so early.” With that, the device went black—Elena fading as quick as she came. Another storm. A faint grin came upon his lips, mostly due to his thinking back of his mother. Pulling out the cellphone in his pocket, Kujo stood silently and typed a quick text message to her. At least she’ll be safe here—for now. He’d have to check on his world every now and then.
The Heartless— If they remained gone, everything was fine. If they returned somehow, though… Shaking the thought off, Kujo began to ponder if Alice had any kind of devices that could monitor SanFransokyo during their absence for any rise of enemies. Guess I gotta give ‘em our mission, too. Shoving his phone back into his pocket, Kujo exited the lounge area with Alice’s device in hand (he was sure to be careful with it, after last time), looking for his new teammates.

The three were waiting for Kujo at the bridge, Alice fixated onto the screen in front of her. Hearing steps, all three turned to see Kujo, waiting for an answer.
Not that they needed, since his posture alone was somewhat relaxed. Jack scoffed with a smirk, looking away.
"So, she let ya in, eh?" he asked, not waiting for a reply, "She's like that, alright..." "Honestly, did you expect any less?" M'Lyn asked with exasperation. "..." Jack sat down in his chair, glancing at Kujo, "Anything else she said? I dunno what exactly you two talked about, but took your sweet time, alright... Wonder why...?" he added with a tease. "Like that would ever happen, you weirdo!" Alice shouted as she rolled her eyes. She then looked at Kujo, after finishing her typing on the keyboard, "...You didn't break it, did you?" she asked with the same tone as before.
Demanding her device back, Alice held her hand forward, palm looking upwards, and glaring. Jack couldn't help but chuckle a bit, as Kujo (hopefully) handed over the device back.
After a while, Alice turned back to the screen, alerted by something. She quickly shifted her gaze onto it, typing away calmly.
"Hmm... Coordenates..." she mumbled. "So?" Jack asked, amused, as he looked at Kujo while he rested his head on one of his hands, smirking, "Anything she said that is worth sharing? Or maybe some doubts you have. Until Alice sees where these coords go to, then I bet we have some time to chat."

Walking into the bridge, Kujo grinned at Jack’s greeting, seeing all three waiting. It seemed they were all too familiar with Elena’s ways, predicting the outcome before even giving him the chance to share. Typical. It was a trait he enjoyed—they were all sharp and good at observation. Listening silently as Jack and Alice quipped, Kujo walked over to where the three were, handing Alice her device upon request (it was perfectly in tact). Her gaze only made him feel slightly resentful towards his mother.
Luckily the glare was brief, as something on the screen altered Alice’s attention. That was fast. The coordinates for their mission had already seemed to arrive. Prompted by Jack, Kujo kept his hands in his pockets as his usual stoic demeanor returned. ”Honestly, there isn’t much to go on…” The instructions had been vague and brief—not a great combo for a thorough explanation. Removing his hands from his pockets and crossing his arms, Kujo relayed the message.
”We’re to go to whatever world those directions lead us to—apparently there’s some ‘intel’ there that Elena thinks’ll be useful. She also thinks we can help with the ‘situation’ going on there…” Sighing a bit, Kujo leaned against the nearest wall, shaking his head. ”But there was no info about what the world is, what it’s like, or the situation going on there—but I’m guessing that last bit is the Heartless.” He had already surmised as much. If they had infiltrated his world, why not others? Jack and the others had previously explained how rampant they were among other places.
Looking between the three, Kujo realized they were basically walking in blind. ”She doesn’t make it easy for us—huh?” There was a faint smirk on his face, as the gripe wasn’t really wholehearted, but more in good humor.
”Looks like we’re diving in head first.”

Jack closed his eyes, humming along Kujo's explanation. It was somewhat shocking to see how easy he'd taken it all, but, then again, maybe it was with his nature. Sure enough, Elena hadn't said much aside the basics, but the crew was already used to it. Elena's often vagueness regarding missions was a troupe all three of them were used to.
"Certainly not" Jack shook his head with a shrug, "Then again, we ain't the only ones -guess she left it to luck." "Hmm... Quite faraway..." Alice hummed, but then suddenly clasped her hands, "Right! I almost forgot! While you were talking with Elena..." she turned towards Kujo with a coy smile, "Since you'll be coming with us... I made a little tweak to the communications between the Almira and the coms... It's kinda hard to explain but basically... We can communicate with this world wherever we are. Helps to keep an eye when it comes to the Heartless, too. It'll be on constant upgrade, though, so I can't guarantee it'll work perfectly..."
A faint humming began to echo throughout the ship, as the Almira began to take off. It wasn't leaving just yet, as Alice was busy locating where exactly Elena wanted to send them. M'Lyn and Jack, in the meantime, looked at the exchange with neutrality, albeit for a moment. M'Lyn took her seat, while Jack looked at Kujo without anything to show or hide.
"Forgot to mention one thing, I bet -Elena, I mean" Jack said, "If we need to go back there, AKA out world... Hope you're ready for gun shows. That, or infiltration, 'cause that's mostly what we do there." "Why would we return, exactly?" M'Lyn asked, while Alice glanced over to them. "It won't last forever. Well... that and the Codes, but..." Jack sighed, "Geh, we can clear it on the way there."
"So? When're we takin' off, sis?" "Once I set it all and I get a hit."

By the reactions around him, or rather lack thereof, Kujo surmised that the others were used to Elena’s ‘missions’. Can you even call them that, when you don’t tell the people doing them anything? Alice’s sudden reveal of the communication device immediately made the man smile faintly, despite himself. Sliding his hands into his pockets and lowering his head a bit, Kujo mustered his typical face before sighing in relief. ”Thanks, Alice…” How was she always one step ahead? When it came to reading people—this girl was a cut above the rest.
”Forgot to mention one thing…” The echoing humming that rumbled the ship, preparing takeoff, didn’t mask Jacks voice too much. Hearing about their own home world, Kujo found himself slightly curious despite his efforts. Why is their world in such disarray? It was a question he wasn’t comfortable enough asking yet. Truthfully he didn’t want to sweat small details, either—those types of things just made one lose focus of the bigger picture. That was his attitude, anyway.
Finding a seat himself, Kujo kept his hands in his pockets while leaning back in his chair, crossing his legs and getting comfortable. Gazing up at the ceiling, Kujo found himself lost in the thought: What’s the next world gonna be like? Turning his eyes to the comrades around him, the man found himself fired up, ready to take on the challenges ahead. A ‘situation’, huh…? Would they be fighting more Heartless? Only time would tell. Whatever. He was ready for anything. It was a newer feeling, but he didn’t feel the need to look over his shoulder anymore.
He trusted the people at his back.

"Welp... If there's nothing left pending, then..."
Alice chuckled, turning faintly towards the rest with a smile. Jack, still resting his head in one hand, smirked back, and M'Lyn nodded.
All three were ready. Since Kujo was also getting comfortable, and didn't seem troubled whatsoever, the time seemed right.
"Alright, then. Let's get goin' already!" Jack said, still smirking.
Alice nodded eager, as the humming of the ship grew a bit louder. The Almira took off immediately, leaving San Fransokyo behind in what seemed to be a few seconds. Or maybe Alice had already started the engine prior? Anyway, the world the group had met seemed like a faraway destination at that point. Jack chuckled, glancing over at a comfortable Kujo.
"Well, time to get to work, right?" he asked, not expecting an answer, "From here onwards... It's us against the world. ...Heh. Hopefully we can get along while this last. I'm looking forward to it!"
Jack grinned, following M'Lyn and Alice's soft laughter. At the very least, the trip promised to be a pleasant one.
