It’s huge!! Law stood behind the wheel of his small yet swift and trusted airship, his blue eyes wide and his mouth agape as SanFransokyo came into view. Look at the size of those buildings! Having just arrived on this world, the pirate flew above the Golden Gate Bridge, drinking in the horizon that displayed a vastly different city than anything he had ever seen. Not only were the buildings he saw tall and wide, countless seemed to be made from glass or windows—reflecting the beautiful ocean and mountains in the distance that surrounded it. Peppering the sky were not only clouds but small hovering mechanisms (using his small retractable telescope, the pirate exclaimed at how they looked like sharks) and blimps as well as snaking roads that wound around the buildings and down towards the ground.
Below him was not only the sea, but the bridge, harboring its own flood of traffic as cars, trucks, bikes and scooters all honked and snaked at a slow pace. It created an orchestra that was unfamiliar yet somewhat pleasing to him. ”This is crazy…” Running a hand through his blonde hair in disbelief, the pirate grinned to reveal a gold tooth as his eyes brimmed with mischief and glee. ”There’s so many people!” Forget robberies or treasure hunting! Pick-pockets alone could live comfortably in a place like this! ”Ha ha ha! I've found a paradise!” He wouldn’t have to do any real work for a while, considering the weight he carried out of Port Royal. But I can always have fun~ It was like a schoolboy looking at a brand new playground.
Flying The Harpy above the towering spines of the red bridge below, Law’s excitement propelled him forward as his eyes rested on a large archway gate between two buildings, adorned with red lanterns before a gigantic statue of a cat holding a sign. WOOP-WOOP! Red and blue lights flashed, distinct despite the bright sun above as a crackling voice boomed over an intercom. ”Unidentified flying vehicle—land now and proceed—“ Though multiple voices in different languages spoke, Law recognized one of them, his head jolting to his control-panel. He had been so distracted by the view of the city he hadn’t even noticed the warning of his radar. How the hell had he not heard those noisy propellors, though? ”The hell? Cops?” What, could they read his mind? Guess his intention? He hadn't even DONE anything yet! He had them back on his home world—but literally had run into nothing of the sort since—well, other than the army at Port Royal—but did that count?
”Whadd’ya want?” Having reached for his own intercom device, Law gripped a small hand-held mic device that snaked on a coiled cord back to his control panel. His voice projected back to the two helicopters now hovering at his sides. Though he didn’t stop the airship, Law lowered its speed to a slow crawl as the unknown enforcers spoke. ”Unidentified flying vehicle—this is your last warning. Land so we can view your papers and—“ Law sighed with frustration as he scratched the back of his head. Man—they never just let you explain anything, huh? Always their way or the highway. He was already getting pissed off. Whoever these people were, they rubbed him the wrong way.
”Well, I was gonna take a leisurely tour…” With a devious grin, the pirate gripped the wheel tight with one hand while the other went for his control panel, littered with switches and buttons from countless upgrades. ”…but I suppose this’ll be more fun.” He’d have to be careful—this city had countless tall and squeezed together obstacles. VVVVVVRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOSH! Within the flip of a switch, the small yet customized Gummi-Engines on The Harpy burst with energy, lancing the small airship between the two helicopters within the blink of an eye. The wind pressure alone caused the flying tops to spin and nearly lose control for a moment. WOOP-WOOP! Sirens roared as the helicopters regained themselves, chasing after the flying ship that had already made its way over the welcoming ‘gates’ of the city.
”Ha ha! Idiots!” A ship suitable for Gummi-Space would always be able to outrace normal ships. Below him were the streets of SanFransokyo, his small airship casting a shadow over the city wherever it flew, causing countless pedestrians and others to crane their necks up and begin shouting in exclamation at the site. Already in the heart of the city, the path where Law was heading, large monitors for the pubic would display news, a woman in a helicopter reporting live. ”—chasing the unknown craft down 7th—“ Another monitor would display an ‘emergency announcement’ cutting through the channel: ”Arrived unexpectedly above the Golden Gate Bridge only ten minutes ago—seemingly out of nowhere!” Already certain roads in the city would begin to be blocked, police on foot clearing the way for police cars and others to get through to follow the ships path.
It seemed that within moments of arriving, somehow without really doing anything, Law had stirred up chaos.

Nox lay on the roof of one of the skyscrapers, listening to her new Walkman-styled portable player. She grabbed it because it had all the modern music amenities and a retro look, and it matched her outfit. She usually came to this spot to listen to the rhythm of the city and watch the planes and ships go by. It was a nice distraction from what she had to do. The stress of having to rebuild her home was immense, but finding people to agree to live there was also a challenge. It was nice to get away from it all, even if only for a little bit. Besides, it's gonna be easier to rebuild with more people. I can only do so much.
Deciding to take a break from the rebuilding, Nox opted to go world-hopping in the hopes of finding potential wielders. SanFransokyo was her first stop, and by far her favorite. Everything is so advanced and unlike what she was used to. It took a few days for her to get used to everything, but not that she's been here a month or so, going back and forth between here and home, she managed to make some friends and snag some cash doing odd jobs for people. It gave her the freedom to look for potential wielders while being able to get around and survive easily.
Her free time was interrupted by a loud WOOSH followed by the putter and sirens of police helicopters. What is it this time? Pinching the bridge of her nose Nox got up, brushed off her denim jacket and fixed her shoulder-length blonde hair before looking over the edge of the building to see the helicopters chasing a very odd-looking airship. I should check it out. That's definitely not normal. Hopping from the rooftop to one lower, the woman did her best to catch up to the vehicles while being careful to not fall off one of the buildings. Looking down, she noticed a crowd of people starting to form, all wanting to see what was going on. I need to see what's going on before it gets worse.

Weaving The Harpy above the busy streets of SanFransokyo, Law really was having a great time. Laughing as he steered his airship away from the police vehicles, the pirate couldn’t help but feel that moments like these were why he continued to travel other worlds. It’s always so entertaining! Truthfully, he had grown slightly more reckless ever since becoming ‘cursed’. Whether or not it really was a ‘curse’ or a ‘blessing’ really depended on his mood that day. ”Well—if I can’t drink anymore, I guess it was only a matter of time before I found a new hobby.” With a childlike grin on his face, the pirate glanced over his shoulder at the multiple flying crafts coming his way.
Below there had been a ground unit chasing after him on the road, but the pirate had been able to fly over countless highways and one-ways in order to throw them off his tail. Bing! Beep! An alert on his control module caused the pirate to glance at his radar, his eyes widening in surprise as he saw new dots beginning to appear. Is it the Heartless?! Whipping his head around to look across the sky, Law’s mouth dropped in astonishment as three jet-black planes rocketed through the gaps between the buildings, their wake alone causing the trees far below to rustle and bend in protest.
”What’re those?!” Craning his wheel in the opposite direction, Law aimed The Harpy upwards, though higher up were countless blimps with floating advertisements and the odd ‘shark’ like fans that hovered in place. Why’s there so much trash in the sky?! A sudden crackle came from below as the pirate saw the jet planes narrowing in. ”Unidentified Flying Vehicle—pull over and step off of the ship with your hands up.” Law scoffed at the thought. Like I can’t outrun those! Reaching for a switch that would propel his airship to speeds that allowed inter-world travel, Law’s master plan crumbled the instant his eyes rose back to the arc he had been rising in.
”OH F—“ CRASH! His airship rocked and roared in protest as it scraped against a blimp with a large electronic billboard, which had hovered into his direction as he was distracted by the planes. SKKKKKKKKSH! The screen crumbled apart as the blimp tore and the mechanical ad was splintered by the speeding ship’s bow. Jolted off of his feet by the collision, Law tired in vain to reach for the wheel that begun to spin out of control, the engines on the airship still fully functioning. Within the blink of an eye, The Harpy was spinning wildly in the air, tangling itself up in the now popped and deflated empty blimp. Law was tossed back and forth, having to grab onto the deck's side-railings multiple times to avoid being bucked off. ”Gotcha!” Having barely managed to grab the wheel, Law pulled with all his might as he leveled the airship back out.
”Unidentified flying vehicle—you are surrounded. Land your craft and come out with your hands up, or prepare to be boarded.” The crackling radio voice was directly above him?! Looking up, Law’s face fell to a scowl as he saw the three planes surrounding him. Above and below were the two helicopters, having covered the distance within the short time it took him to correct the disaster. ”Tch—aw c’mon.” Maybe this place wasn’t a paradise. Already one of the plane’s were at a stand-still, a rope-ladder lowering as a single man in a flight uniform and helmet began to descend towards his ship. ”Oi! Don’t think you can just board my ship, asshole!”
Law reached for the holstered weapon at his hip, an indignant look in his blazing blue eyes.

Nox watched as what seemed like the entire force went after the strange ship. Even the swat unit was out now. This is ridiculous! The cops tended to be a bit rougher the higher the perceived threat and if the black choppers were any indication, they saw this as a big threat.
Hopping from roof to roof, she managed to hitch a ride on one of the passing helicopters just as the strange ship started to fly upwards. Following its path, Nox noticed a blimp on a crash course with the ship. "Oh no." A pit formed in the woman's stomach as the inevitable happened. Nox watched in horror as the ship tore through the blimp and started to spiral out of control. It was followed by a wave of relief when the ship evened itself out. "Oh thank God." She wanted to give the captain a piece of her mind and would rather they be alive when they did.
Reaching said ship, she saw that one of the black chopper cops was already on board and talking to a blond guy, roughly her age, dressed like a pirate. "HEY CUZ!" Nox shouted at the top of her lungs, being sure to get both people's attention. Swinging from the helicopter she was riding to the ladder that led to the boat, and making her way to the ship's deck. "You were supposed to call me when you got into town!" She hugged the six fit man and whispered in his ear. "Play along and follow my lead. This is bad enough as it is." The woman then let go and turned to the cop with her famous crooked smile.
"I'm sorry about him, he's not from around here. What was originally the problem?" The cop took a moment to compose himself after seeing what Nox just did. "Well, your, uh, cousin here ran from the police after being asked to show this ship's identification. It's not like anything around, its only procedure." Nox nodded along to what the cop was saying before chiming in. "And while evading you all, he crashed into this ad blimp, right?" The cop nodded and Nox glared at the man standing next to her from the side of her eye.
"Well, I'm sure we can smooth things over without anything too harsh happening." She smiled at the cop who looked at her in minor disbelief. "He evaded police and destroyed property. Something has to happen!" Nox nodded in agreement. "Oh, it will. But I doubt my cousin here needs to go to jail." She paused for a moment. "Or should I tell your lieutenant that you won't work with their kid's favorite sitter?" It was a long shot, and a major bluff on her part, but it would pay off if it worked out. Thankfully it did. "Alright, alright, fine. Your cousin here gets off with a warning and a fine for the destruction of property."
Nox silently nodded and smiled while the cop got on the ladder he came off of and was carried away. She then turned to the pirate dressed man with a glare that could pierce stone. "Who are you, and more importantly, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!? This could've been SO MUCH worse! You're lucky you didn't do any major damage! Even luckier that people don't ride these!" She grabbed the blimp for emphasis before dropping it with a sigh. Pinching the beige of her nose she looked back at the man. "Let's just, set this down somewhere and find some food before we talk. I missed lunch because of all this. You hungry?"

”HEY CUZ!” A sudden shout caused Law’s hand to pause, hovering over his holstered weapon as he turned to look for the source. Out of nowhere a blonde woman he had never seen before was running up on his ship before hugging him. His face was one of confusion and irritation. ”Play along and follow my lead.” Suddenly she was talking to the intruder on Law’s behalf—though the pirate couldn’t hear what she was saying. He just stood with a dumb-struck face as he blinked. Who the hell is she? Whoever she was, it seemed she was connected somehow, seeing as the helmeted officer didn’t remove the pistol holstered on his hip.
”Alright, alright, fine. Your cousin here gets off with a warning and a fine for the destruction of property.” Thrusted a slip of paper, the helmeted man was gruff with Law and seemed hardly pleased at the lack of penalty. ”Pfft…lapdog.” Mumbling under his breath as the man was climbing back up the rope ladder, signaling to the other vehicles in the sky as he returned to his craft. ”Who are you, and more importantly, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!” The woman was a whirlwind, her eyes stone as she began to thrash the deflated blimp that still snaked over the side of The Harpy’s deck rails. Within moments, the blonde seemed to deflate as well with a heavy sigh. ”You hungry?” The pirate had hardly gotten a word in yet, but this woman had already gone off on a whole storm and returned the tides to calm in seconds.
”Yeesh—you’re nothin’ but energy, huh?” Walking over to the side of the deck, the pirate lifted up a heavy steel-toed boot to kick the remaining trash off of his ship. The Harpy swayed in the air slightly as the destroyed blimp was sent back down to the pavement below. ”Don’t get the wrong idea—you didn’t save me. You saved them.” Sitting on the maroon wood railing, Law scowled a bit before eyeing the woman with a calculated gaze. ”What’s the deal? You a local or somethin’?” It seemed he was ignoring all of her questions, a mischievous look in his icy blue eyes. ”Do me a favor then, yeah? Where’s the nearest casino?” For a moment, the pirate’s face scrunched up as he looked away, gazing around the towering buildings around them.
”Wait—d’you call ‘em 'casino’s' here?”

Nox stared at the man as he blatantly ignored her questions. With a deep breath, the woman decided that if she wanted answers she would have to give a few. "Nope, furthest thing from. I'm just not the biggest fan of fights breaking out, especially for something as stupid as an off-worlder wreaking havoc." She stretched and joined the pirate looking man on the wooden railing. "I've only been here about a month, so I couldn't tell you about any casinos." She thought for a moment. "But I heard there's underground robot fights if you know where to look. I hear people bet on them all the time."
She looked around the ship, taking in every detail she could before asking the obvious. "So, you're an actual pirate then?" From the ship to the way the man dressed, it seemed to make sense. She then glared at the man, her hazel eyes boring into him. "Were you being chased because you got caught trying to steal something?" She hoped that wasn't the case. In all honesty, chasing after his ship and riding under a helicopter was extremely fun. Not to mention lying to the cops? She started to understand why most of her friends used to do reckless things.
The thought of her friends left her a bit sad. Nox did her best not to show it. That reminds me, I wonder how he's doing. Last I saw him, he stopped to get some cash and a change of clothes. She shook her head and focused on the situation at hand. "Anyway, if you're looking for a score or something the robots are your best bet. Not that I'm saying you should rob anyone."

Law rolled his eyes a bit at Nox’s jibe, looking over the edge of the ship at the city below with disinterest as she joined him on the railing. ”I heard there’s underground robot fights if you know where to look.” That piqued his interest once more, causing the man to grin as his eyes lit up. ”So, you’re an actual pirate then?” The question caused him to bark out a laugh. ”Were you being chased because you got caught trying to steal something?” An indignant look came across the pirate’s face as he narrowed his eyes. ”Tch—those clowns just started off with demands. Trust me, if I robbed 'em—they'd never see it comin'.” Crossing his arms a bit, Law sighed and shook his head.
Whatever. He didn’t come here for a heist. Truthfully the chest of Aztec gold hidden within his captain’s quarters would sustain him for a good chunk of his immortal lifetime. ”What I’m lookin’ for is a good time~” Pushing off of the railing, the pirate rested his hands on his hips before giving Nox a grin that flashed his golden tooth. Pointing at the woman, Law gave a hearty laugh. ”I think you’re right—those robot battles sound freakin’ awesome!” With that, Law turned and began to rush back up the stairs that led to the pilot’s wheel. For a moment the man paused, jolting upright before turning to Nox with a look. ”You said you knew where they were—right?” As he turned to make his way back up the stairs, the man halted a second time before turning back to the blonde.
”Oh yeah—the name’s Law. You're—?”

"Nox. And I never said I know where these fights are, they tend to hop around. Illegality and all that. I do know where the usual spots are." She thought for a moment. "I do know who knows when and where the matches are." Her hand went to her empty stomach. On the plus side, the person worked at a noodle shop. "You get info, I get food. Win-win."
Now that that was established, it was probably a good idea to get to know Law a bit better. "So, Law, I know you're not from around here. Where'd you come from?" A pirate was definitely out of the ordinary for anywhere she's been. It'd be nice to learn about where someone like him could come from. She was used to dealing with people who had a habit of doing stupid things for fun. They made her days interesting and extremely eventful. "Any adventures worth sharing?"

Hearing that Nox knew of someone who could tell them of where the robot fights were occurring, the pirate was revved up. With a wide grin, Law shot the woman a ‘thumbs up’ before rushing up to the steering wheel of the idle airship. Thankfully it seemed there wasn’t really ‘air traffic’ on this world, so their suspension above a busy intersection had gone undisturbed (granted, all of the citizens below had been standing around gaping or taking photos with their phones for a good minute now). ”Sounds good—where’s this friend of yours?” He was ready to get moving—robot fights sounded exciting! ”So, Law, […] where did you come from?” The question made the man shrug out of habit, scratching at the back of his head.
”Some nameless world not worth mentionin'—don’t even know if it’s still around.” His face seemed disinterested, though his heart ached at the memory of his own defeat. ”Any adventures worth sharing?” Cracking his neck and stretching his arm a bit, Law sighed as he leaned against the wheel. It seemed this ‘Nox’ was the curious type. Whatta pain… Well, he couldn’t refuse the help of a guide in a sprawling city like this. ”Yeah, I’ll tell ya on the way.” Flipping a switch on the control module stationed next to the wheel, Law grinned at Nox as the engines on the ship began to turn on, surprisingly silent for an aircraft. ”Hang on'ta somethin'.”
With that, the ship was suddenly lurched forward at a surprising speed, arcing to go upwards past the tall skyscrapers that blocked their sky. With its small size, The Harpy was above the tall buildings, overlooking SanFransokyo within moments. Leveling the ship out with a smooth transition, Law circled around, lowering them a bit to have a good view of the tiny streets below. ”I’ve been to a few worlds now; there’s one place I really like—place is never night or day.” Even now Law could remember the golden sky that spilled soft light over a small and sleepy town. It lurked with its own shadows, but Law had reveled on a world where the moon would never rise.
”You said you aren’t from here either? Where’d you come from?” The pirate eyed Nox as he steered the airship, waiting for directions before making any direct progress. He had a knack for deflection.

”Some nameless world not worth mentionin'—don’t even know if it’s still around.” The statement struck at her heart. The woman looked down and made circles on the railing with her finger. "Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it." Her soft-spoken nature was starting to resurface now that her adrenaline had subsided. Not having a world to go back to was one thing, but not even knowing if it was still around? The thought made her shudder.
”Hang on'ta somethin'.” Nox barely had time to grab on to the rail as the ship lurched up towards the sky. After leveling out, the blonde hopped off the rail and moved to the wheel to join law. She listened with interest as he described a world in constant twilight. It was nice to have a place you felt you could always comeback to. ”You said you aren’t from here either? Where’d you come from?” The question made Nox jump almost a foot in the air. She wasn't expecting the question. It's only fair, I asked him first after all.
The woman leaned on the rail, careful not to hit the panel full of buttons and switches, and was silent for a few moments before speaking. "I'm from....how do I put this? She tapped her chin for a minute. "My world was a wonderful place, full of light and joy. Met some of the best people there. Heck, my best friend is from there." She smiled at the memories she made before she and Yuto were ripped from their home. The smile faded to a semi-absent stare to the midday sky. "But, that's all gone now. I don't know if it'll ever be the same again."
Pushing herself off the rail, Nox turned to scan the horizon. "Anyway, enough of that. You're gonna wanna head north, north-west, to that building with the large antenna." She pointed to the building she was talking about, a large red antenna stood with multiple dishes on it, making it fairly hard to miss. "From there it's a quick walk to the place." Not wanting to get thrown from her spot, Nox gripped the rail as tight as she could waiting for the ship to move.

”My world was a wonderful place[…] but that’s all gone now.” It seemed the two had more in common than the pirate had initially thought. The two were just strays—survivors of destroyed worlds with no real home to return to. Hearing Nox give the directions to where her informed friend was, Law swiftly navigated The Harpy above the tall buildings, heading directly for the antenna-clad building. With the powered up Gummi engines attached to the airship, the two arrived in short time, faster than any ground vehicle would have taken them by far.
”Eh, it should be fine up here.” With a shrug, the pirate flicked a few switches on the control module before pressing a bright green button. Not like there was much air traffic on this world to begin with. While the engines settled down, allowing the floating ship to ‘park’ idly, Law peered over the edge of the stern. The bright red antenna building was directly below them now, only a couple dozen feet. ”Alright, let’s go!” Grabbing onto Nox’s arm, Law pulled the woman over to the edge of the ship with him with a wide grin. ”Hang on!” Without another warning the pirate stepped up onto the railing, pulling the woman with him with all his might as he leapt. Within the blink of an eye, the two were in the air, quickly falling. ”Aero—“ Holding out his free hand that wasn’t gripping Nox, Law aimed at the parking lot far below them, right beside the large building.
”—ra!” A powerful gust of wind erupted in a swirling upward gust as the two neared the ground. Cushioning them, the two would bounce as though on a trampoline before settling on the billowing wind like a chair. ”Ha ha! That’s always fun!” His hair wild and wind-swept, Law leapt from the swirling magical air that suspended them, landing on the pavement with a thud. HONK! HONK! HONK! Car alarms had been set off in the parking lot, having been hit by the gust of wind though unharmed. Passerbys that had been walking had suddenly began shouting and stopping as the two had been falling, staring agape at the display before them. Glancing around them, Law tilted his head, resting a hand on his hip before turning to Nox.
”What—is there no magic on this world, or something?”

She didn't have time to protest before Law took her by the arm and went over the ship's rail. Screaming on the way down, the woman didn't notice as the pirate used Aerora to break their fall until she bounced mid-air and landed next to the man. "I'm starting to think you and my friend would get along. You're both equally crazy."
”What—is there no magic on this world, or something?” Nox fixed her hair and brushed some loose gravel from her jacket.Nope. World's completely science-based." She shrugged. It was kind of cool to see how people lived without things like magic. "C'mon, it's not much farther." Leading the man for a couple of minutes, the two came to a small noodle shop in between two towering buildings. She always found the location to be comical when looking at the size difference.
Leading Law inside, Nox motioned him to wait by the door while she went to the counter. "Hey Sara, the usual. To go please." Behind the counter was a black woman, roughly their age, with frizzy hair pulled into a tight bun. "No problem! Anything else I can do for you today?" Sara's gaze drifted to the Man by the door. "Hm? Oh, yeah. Is Ringleader here today? The guy by the door is looking to get involved." Sara sighed as she gave Nox her food and took the cash. "Usual spot. Good luck, you'll need it."
Nox nodded her head for Law to follow her. Heading to the back of the shop, Nox stopped just before the wall. "Wha'd'ya want kid? I told ya, if you don't wanna join or bet then I don't have time for you." The blatantly female voice came fro, an Asian woman sporting a pink tank top and purple shorts, a very traditional Asian hairstyle, and an eyepatch over her left eye. "This time's different, miss. I have someone who's looking for a bit of fun and is interested in your operation." Nox motioned Law to join her. "Miss, this is Law. Law, meet the bot fight ringleader."
The pink-clad woman looked up in surprise. "And to think, not two weeks ago you were trying to convince me to close up shop. What a world we live in. Both of you, join me. Please." The statement was more of an order than a suggestion. Once both of them were seated, Ringleader would look at Law with intrigue. "Tell me: what, exactly is it you want to do?"

Giving a light-hearted wave with a mischievous grin on his face at the staggered passerby’s, Law followed Nox to the Noodle Shop. Entering the building dwarfed by the towers surrounding it, the pirate leaned against the wall with his arms crossed by the entrance as Nox spoke to the woman behind the counter. Glancing around at the shop and the few occupants, the pirate was vaguely reminded of home. Best shove those thoughts off… It didn’t do him any good to dwell on the past. ‘What’s done is done’, as the saying went. Having gotten the information they needed, Nox led Law to the back of the shop.
Heh—just like the old days. He’d done many a shady deal in the back of small restaurants or cafes. Sometime’s the classics just worked. ”Wha’d’ya want, kid?” It was hard for Law not to burst out laughing at Nox’s treatment. He’d had the same reaction to her when they first met. Upon introduction the pirate gave a slight nod and lifted a hand in blasé greeting. ”Both of you, join me.” Beckoned to sit, the pirate was still eyeing various parts of the back shop. He was always intrigued by what people ‘left around’. Taking a seat, the pirate crossed a leg, leaning back comfortably with a light grin on his face.
”Tell me: what exactly is it you want to do?” The question threw him off. Weren’t they here to get a location? ”Well—I’m tryin’ to see some robot fights.” There was a glint in his eye at the prospect. ”Sounds like y'all do bets. I'm always feelin' lucky.”

Law's answer brought a smirk to the Ringleader's face. A hotshot, huh? It's always nice to see." She wrote down the address for the event on a napkin. "But, don't be surprised if not everything goes your way." Ringleader slid the napkin to Nox, who had just finished her meal. "Oh and Nox, if you need a more stable cash flow, my offer is still open." Nox rolled her eyes and gave an exasperated sigh. "Yeah, fine. Give me a way to keep an eye on everything anyway. What time?" Ringleader thought for a moment. "8 tonight sound fair?" With a nod from Nox, the Asian woman rose from the table and left the shop.
"Well, we have some time to kill until the show starts." She got up and gestured for Law to follow. "C'mon, we have some shopping to do. If I'm gonna DJ for this place, I wanna know what I'm using."
The rest of the day was spent getting various DJ supplies. A turntable, records, a computer (which may or may not have been stolen), everything Nox thought she would need. After what felt like an eternity of walking to the address, the two were able to set everything down and Nox got herself set up. "Alright Law, from what I've seen, a couple of people seem like they're itching for a reason to throw a punch. Just try not to piss people off, ok?" With that, she left Law to his own devices. Arriving before the event started had its perks. For Nox, it was being able to make sure all her equipment was working and her playlist was in order.
About an hour passed before the building was filled with people. It was enough to be crowded but maneuverable. Nox looked over to the Ringleader, and with a nod, the event was off to a start. Nox lowered the music just enough for her voice to be heard. "Lllllladies and gentlemen! You know why you're here! You wanna see some bot crush the oil out of each other, right!" The crowd erupted in cheers. "Well alright then! For the first match, we have Caestus versus 417-F4! Er, sorry, Alt-F4. My bad. Anyway, tonight's tournament rules and all bets for each round WILL be accepted as long as they're made before the match you're betting on." The blonde gestured to the board towards the back of the room. "Remember to check the board if you're not sure who to bet on. Also, don't be discouraged if the bot you bet on lost, we are planning on a loser's bracket for any bots that are still in functioning condition.
Nox tossed the announcement paper she was given while setting up. "Now that all that's out of the way, LETS GEEET ON WITH THE MATCH!" The woman raised the music back to its previous level as Caestus, a small catlike robot, and 417-F4, which was a behemoth of a machine, entered the ring.

Smirking as the woman with bright hair delivered her final warnings, Law rose from his chair, stretching a bit as Nox took the business offer. ”Well, we have some time to kill until the show starts. C’mon, we have some shopping to do.” Law raised a brow as Nox led him out of the joint, guiding him through the bustling streets of SanFran. Though the pirate had been less than enthusiastic about the idea of shopping, Law found himself enjoying lifting items from shops with Nox and learning about this world’s musical instruments. Having stowed The Harpy in a safe ‘parking space’ (thankfully, Nox’s connections in the city made it easier for the pirate to avoid any hassle), the two walked to the shady venue—a walk that made Law grateful for the ‘curse’, keeping him from feeling the toll on his body.
”Alright Law, from what I’ve seen, a couple of people seem like they’re itching for a reason to throw a punch.” As the pirate calmly scanned the area with his gaze, a wicked grin had formed, revealing the golden tooth. ”Just try not to piss people off, ok?” Rolling his eyes a bit and waving the woman off as she left to prepare herself, the pirate walked off on his own, exploring the currently vacant venue. Inside was a large ring, similar to those he’d seen boxers use, but lower to the ground. Oh—sweet! He didn’t think they’d meant legit big robots! With building excitement, Law wandered the venue, killing time until the show would start.
Heh—time to get these pockets goin’. Standing before the board, Law had placed his bet while Nox made her announcement. He’d briefly glanced over the information earlier, while aimlessly killing time, but truthfully it didn’t matter much. Law planned on cheating, after all. Sizing up the two robot’s, the match was obvious which bot would make him the most money. Everyone’ll think the giant one’ll smash that small cat to pieces. Call it experience, intuition or whatever, but Law knew that most always underestimated the little ones. Thinking back to some of his old 'temp crew', Law had made the same mistake himself, once. Heh—but they proved me wrong, didn’t they? Betting on Caestus, Law stood mid-range from the ring, lost in the crowd. Nox had warned him not to be flashy, and luckily their shoplifting earlier and provided the perfect warmup for the pirate's already skilled slight of hand.
”Aero—“ Cutting the incantation short, Law muttered the spell under his breath, tempering his magic power to create a weaker and subtler version of his Aerora spell—providing the cat-like robot with an invisible to the eye wind barrier, surrounding it to hopefully protect it from the brunt of the massive robots damage, as well as a sudden burst of speed at the very beginning of the fight. Grinning as he crossed his arms, keeping his blue eyes on the machines, Law hoped his tactic would go unnoticed by the spectators outside of the ring. Moreso that it would aid the Caestus bot to victory.
He’d help more if the fight went south, though.

Nox watched the ring, hoping things wouldn't get too out of hand. Part of her hoped that it would end in a draw, but she couldn't help but worry for Caestus' well being. She liked small animals and things that resemble them. Thankfully, the size difference was enough to make thew fight even.
As ALT-F4 tried to swipe and smash Caestus, the cat managed to hop around and climb on top of the robotic behemoth. It seemed whoever programmed the cat knew what they were doing. Caestus was extremely light on its feet, partially thanks to Laws Aero keeping it from being hit directly.
The real crowd shocker, however, was when Caestus' tail shifted into a circular saw. With multiple swipes, the cat-bot had taken off one of the other robot's arms. There was a moment of silence before the crowd erupted in cheers. The fight was almost completely one-sided since the start, but now Caestus had gone on the offense and not a minute too soon. Nox could only hope that Caestus would finish the fight quickly.

Law watched with a wide grin as the Caestus whirled across the battlefield, aided by his spell. Upon the robot’s tail transforming into spinning saw blades, the entire crowd was in uproar and cheering—others howling and ushering heavy ‘boos’. With a victorious smirk, the pirate eyed the crowd, figuring that the battle was in the bag. The large venue that housed the ring was dark, multiple colors splattered among the room by moving LED lights accompanying Nox’s melodies over the soundboard. Heh—she set everythin’ up perfectly~ Weaving his way through the crowd, Law decided to get to work doing what he did even better than cheating.
While countless locals were intensely focusing on the match, Law worked on picking the pockets of stupefied observers. Having done such activities since a young age, it was more of a game than a livelihood for the pirate. Like I'd bet without insurance! All in all, he was in good spirits. Larceny and cheating games were always a good way to kill the time—nothing was ever boring, at least.
After working the crowd for the remainder of the fight, Law would push his way closer to the ring (so long as he wasn’t caught, of course) once it seemed that the victor had been decided.

Nox was too enamored with the fight to keep much of an eye on Law, as Caestus made short work of Alt-F4. The behemoth tried its best to defend itself against the feline's tail-saw, to no avail. After a few flicks of the saw, the massive machine was little more than scrap. After a beat, there was a mix of cheers and groans while money was exchanged and added to the champion pot.
The blonde turned the music down just enough for heard to be heard. "Alright folks, as you can see, Caestus won this round." She looked over to the pile that was once Alt-F4. "And I don't think his opponent will be able to be in the losers bracket, so apologies to anyone to bet on him."
She raised the volume back to its previous level as the ring was cleared off and prepared for the next fight.

Cheering and pumping a fist in the air, one of the victors in the room. There were many groans and looks of dismay—it seemed he had been right, many had bet on the larger and tougher looking robot. ”Alright folks, as you can see, Caestus won this round.” Nox’s voice echoed throughout the dark building, affirming Law’s victory. Heh—and it proved to be a good distraction. He had been able to lift some good Munny off of the less observant viewers.
Many had come with full pockets, intent on betting. As Nox turned the music back up, Law made his way back to the betting board, curious about the next match. Don’t wanna get on a hot streak too quick, though… He was hardly a novice to such things. With the crowd and the dim lights, it was nothing short of an amusement park for the pirate. Now if only I could enjoy a drink... Grumbling at the thought, a sour taste filled his mouth, dampening his mood a bit. There were moments his 'curse' was truly just that: a curse. Pretty good perks, though. Shaking the thought off, Law decided to focus on the board in front of him, his blue eyes scanning the page eagerly for information on the next round.
It was time for him to get his head back in the game.

Nox made sure to keep an eye on Law when the match was done, not knowing that he already lifted money from people. When He got to the matchboard, he would seed that the next big fight that was being bet on was between the bots Megaton and Nano. She shrugged it off, though she was sure he was up to no good. she wanted to scold him, but she had her gig to worry about and if he didn't get caught she didn't really care. It was one less thing to worry about.
It took a little while, but once the ring was clear and the competitors were ready Nox turned down the music. "Alriiight! You folks ready for the second match of the night?" Her question was met with a cacophony of cheers from the crowd. "Now that's what I like to hear!" She gestured to the ring "The fighters of this match are probably the most opposite you could get! One is a swarm, the other can shake the very air around it. GIVE IT UP FOR MEGATON AND NANOOOOOO!" Despite her reservations, the announcer gig was proving to be tons of fun. The roar of the crowd helped her forget her mission, at least for a little bit.
Nano, like Nox described, was a form made completely of smaller robots woven together so tightly that they looked almost solid. Megaton, on the other hand, was a small rc like car with a large speaker strapped to it. Both looked fairly unassuming, the match could definitely go to either.
