The echoes of waves against the sand resonated throughout the air, surrounding an island isolated in the middle of an endless sea. It was a peaceful ambiance, truly, yet the way it looked didn't exactly resemble said peace.
The trees and plants all looked decayed, brown and without any hints of life. The sand, instead of a usual golden yellow, was almost completely grey akin gravel, and the sea was a grey-ish, unwelcoming tone of blue instead of what seemed to be a vivid turquoise. The air felt stale and dry, unlike what one would expect from a tropical environment, humid and warm, even enjoyable for some. If one were to look around, they'd see misty wisps floating about without a care in the world, following the stale breeze as they floated by. Their spectral appearance wasn't a welcoming one, however, nor did it seem as if they would react to anyone aside themselves.
All in all, the place looked dead and empty. One could even say it was a shell of a once marvelous world, now forgotten.
Tori looked around, worried. It wasn’t her first time there, but the place always was uncomfortable for her. She couldn’t come up with a reason as for why she was there again. However, despite the uncomfortable feeling the place gave her, some of it echoed with familiarity. Having been there already a few times, the feeling of knowing the place better than what she currently did kept growing ever stronger, to the point it became annoying. Tori groaned, shaking her head.
“But why am I here again…?” she thought with a bitter glare.
One more time, she looked around, while recalling what Adrien had said before he took his leave. “If you think you’re safe just because you dealt with me, think again”. Tori had been more than aware of just how many enemies she had to deal with, so the threat itself wasn’t worrying.
What worried her was what exactly they’d use to get her.
Suddenly, she flinched. Turning around with a shaken expression, Tori suddenly noticed a problem
She’d forgotten that she wasn’t alone.

Henoke squinted as the light from his Power of Waking faded—wondering where the Keyblade sent him this time. The sounds of waves lapping against a shore immediately began to ring through his ears. A beach?! His gold eyes finally opened fully, brimming with hope that was quickly killed as he took in the bizarre scenery around them. What the hell? The amount of oddities at first glance were surmounting—ranging from the very color of the sea itself to the odd misty wisps flying through the air. Should've known better than to expect something normal... Thinking back to the world he had just come from, though, nothing seemed weirder than talking dishes and furnitures running amuck in a palace. Resting his hands behind his head, the spiky-haired teen sighed as he glanced over his shoulder, looking towards Tori. He wasn't used to having company during his trips to other worlds.
”Well—I told ya it was gonna be random.” The other Keyblade Wielder had decided to travel with him after they had restored the Beast’s Castle to its natural order (with some help, of course)—though the unseen enemy that had stirred up all the trouble still bothered him. Belle, that tip was useless. How the hell was he gonna find anyone with a vague description like “dressed in all black”? At least we lost that green pain in the ass... Shaking the thought off, Henoke decided to figure out what the deal with this world was—since the Keyblade decided he needed to come here. A slight scowl rested on the teen’s face as he began to walk across the grey sand, the faint crunching beneath his soles echoing in the silence. Should just toss the damned thing… He vowed silently once more that he would master his power soon, to not be at the mercy of the Keyblade.
That was when Henoke noticed Tori, who was somewhat spaced-out looking as her eyes feasted on the sight of the bizarre beach. Raising an eyebrow and cocking his head a bit, Henoke rested a hand on his hip. ”Oi, Tori? C’mon—what’re you spacin’ out for?”

Tori quickly turned her head away, frowning. Her expression, a bitter one, was a clear indicator, really -she wasn't pleased being there. And with Henoke there as well, it wouldn't take long before they got in trouble. Sighing, she took a quick decision, heading towards a random direction, nudging Henoke to follow.
"We need to leave" she said, not looking back, "As soon as possible. Otherwise, we'll be in trouble. If you get tainted, then..."
She shook her head, trying to ignore the thought altogether. Explaining it would be just a waste of time, one Tori couldn't really afford. Glaring back at Henoke, her gaze one full of determination, she proceeded onwards.
"Come on -let's get moving. If not, trouble won't take long to find you. And, quite honestly, I'd rather avoid it as much as possible, especially here. This isn't a suitable place to fight."
Tori walked along the shoreline, just barely away from the reach of the sea. The sight was quite honestly depressing. Still, why was it so familiar? Why did it feel as if that place wasn't what it used to be? Having been there already once before, the feeling just kept settling inside her heart, unaware of everything else.
Unaware of the world's history.
"For starters, how did we even get here?" she thought exasperated, "We traveled with Henoke's Power of Waking... We shouldn't have ended here, in the Realm Between! But... If not, why...?" she glanced barely towards him, "Maybe... It's because of him that we came here... His memory's not what it should be... Or rather, he's not the person who he used to be... Maybe that's why?"

”We need to leave” Tori’s tone took Henoke by surprise—she sounded serious. ”As soon as possible. Otherwise, we’ll bet in trouble.” She was already walking in a different direction, leaving Henoke standing on the beach confused for a moment before he furrowed his brow and walked after her, his hands still behind his head as he leaned back to look at the odd sky. She’s been here before? Tori seemed urgent as she pressed him forward once more, something that was already irritating the boy a bit. ”This isn’t a suitable place to fight.” What did that mean? Raising an eyebrow, Henoke turned his head, looking around as he walked behind Tori.
”Tch—I can fight anywhere, anytime!” There was a defiant look on his face as he shoved his hands into his jacket pockets. ”What your deal? What’s up with this world? Have you been here before?” Never one for patience, Henoke was quick to ask all of his questions at once as the two walked along the shoreline. It's definitely depressing… It wasn’t a beach he’d choose to go to, that’s for sure. Eyeing the grey/blue water, which looked more dirty than anything, Henoke stepped closer towards the sea-line.
Even if it looked weird, a beach was a beach right? Squatting down on his haunches, Henoke tilted his head a bit as he watched the waves roll back and forth—reaching a hand out as he splashed into it, feeling the cold and brisk salt water wash over his skin. It caused his hand to shiver as he pulled it out, shaking it dry with a scowl. Ew—that's way too cold!

Tori didn't really stop walking, even if Henoke took his time noticing her intentions. She glanced over towards him, noticing his defiant expression, which only caused her to frown in worry. Did he not understand the urgency of it all?
”What your deal? What’s up with this world? Have you been here before?” Henoke's questions not only brought Tori to a stop, but they were followed by an anoyed groan from her part. Truly, his attitude could definitely use some tact, but it didn't look like he'd get any just like that. Placing a hand on her hips while the other pinched the bridge of her nose, Tori turned towards him with a bitter expression.
"There's a reason why I'm telling you to hurry, right? Of course I've been here before!" she shouted, "If you think you can just fight whatever memories gather here, without a care in the world, then go on! Do it!"
She flinched, quickly turning back. Her tongue slipped up again... The hand in her nose now lowered itself to her mouth, covering it as she looked away with a mix of concern and annoyance.
"Dammit, I slipped..."
Shaking her head once more, Tori headed back to her path, her gaze focused on the shoreline.
"We gotta find the way out before it's too late. If we stall for too long, they'll find you. And I honestly don't want to deal with either an Anomaly or a tainted Henoke..." she groaned.

”Of course I’ve been here before!” Tori’s shouting caused a disdained scowl to form on the teen’s face as Henoke stood up from crouching next to the water. ”If you think you can just fight whatever memories gather here, without a care in the world, then go on!” Crossing his arms, Henoke’s brow furrowed, his head tilting a bit. ”Fight…memories?” What did that even mean? Tori wasn’t making any sense to the vibrant haired youth, who definitely thought he could fight anything, even ‘memories’. ”We gotta find the way out before it’s too late. If we stall for too long, they’ll find you.”
Tori’s groan only confused him more. ”Wait—you just wanna leave?!” He genuinely hadn’t expected that. As Tori began resuming her walk across the shoreline, Henoke ran after her, adamant and heated as always. ”But, we haven’t done anything!” The Keyblade brought him to worlds for a reason—whether he liked it or not. Despite his flaws, Henoke was a heart that the Keyblade called out to for a reason. He wasn't the type of guy who could just leave a troubled world to its own devices if he was already there. ”I can’t just leave! I don’t know why, but if the Keyblade dumped us here it must want us to do something!” His face was contorted into one of frustration and annoyance. He felt seriously underestimated here.

"God, can't you understand!?"
Tori turned back, her face full of anger. Her eyes turned purple, enraged at Henoke's apparent lack of comprehension. Even if he wasn't aware of what happened in that world, he could at least listen to someone's reasons.
"There's nothing for us to do here!" Tori scowled, "I have no idea why the Keyblade led us here, but it's definitely not because this world's troubled! Heck..." Tori turned back a bit with an angry smile, "I'm even surprised it could even lead us here, inside the Realm Between. But the longer we stay here, the more likely it'll be for you to be tainted by the memories gathered here. And I'll be damned if I have to deal with that!"
Tori glared back, her anger laid bare. If Henoke couldn't understand that simple detail, then she'd just drag him around. So what if he appeared older than her? It wouldn't be the first time she'd have to force herself in order to overpower someone stronger and more capable. Her life in Sakura Island taught her how to be strong and independant, free from someone else's chains.
"If you want to continue this dumb discussion, I won't stop you. I, for once, want to live, and to do that, we need to leave this place as soon as we can. If you'd rather dissapear altogether, whenever a memory starts to taint you, then good luck finding someone capable of returning you back!"

Henoke’s anger was mostly overtaken with confusion. The Realm Between? It sounded familiar, but no immediate idea came to mind. He recalled a hazy memory—one of his Chirithy when he had first gotten the Keyblade. Hm… What was it, again? He was never the best student. ”If you’d rather disappear altogether, whenever a memory starts to taint you, then good luck finding someone capable of returning you back!” Tori seemed more than over the conversation, to which Henoke only huffed at, crossing his arms. With a sigh, the teen glanced around again, doubtful.
Tch—if it’s not in trouble, why send us here? He was understanding the Keyblade less and less these days. Sigh…I miss Chirithy. His old 'watchful eye' had been really clued-in as to why the Keyblade did stuff. He didn’t really understand anything Tori was talking about, other than the fact there was a specific way out of this world. Seeing how angry she was, Henoke shoved his hands into his jacket pockets, turning his head with a mutter. ”Why’d you come along if you were just gonna bail on the first place we went?” Wasn’t there a risk of dying on every world they went to? Heartless weren’t a joke—but they fought those all the time, right?
”Whatever.” Throwing his hands back behind his head with a carefree look, Henoke decided it wouldn’t matter what he said to Tori—she seemed hell-bent on leaving. Beginning to walk in the direction she had been heading in at first, Henoke glanced at her over his shoulder with curious eyes. ”So—what’re these ‘memories’ you keep talkin’ about?” Whatever they were—they were apparently strong enough to make Tori afraid to be here. Heh—that alone makes me wanna fight ‘em! He couldn’t help but form a broad grin of confidence as he had the thought. "Have you fought 'em before?"
He’d go along with her—for now. Henoke wasn’t new to this—he was sure they’d run into something on their way to the exit. Feeling a new excitement at facing a potentially strong opponent, the fiery youth decided to ponder why the Keyblade sent them here later.
He was never good at thinking of this kind of stuff, anyway.

Tori sighed, seeing that, at the very least, he was willing to follow. Such a troublesome person would've had it harder if she wasn't worried for them. Truthfully, they would've ended at the opposite end of her sword. It was only because Henoke intrigued her that she didn't engage him in a fight.
"Had I known this was going to be our next destination, I wouldn't have teamed up with you..." she frowned, although not visibly to him.
The walk through the shoreline would prove peaceful, although the wisps would gather around them far more often, particularly around Henoke. Tori frowned at the sight, only wondering just how long would it take for any of them to try and get inside Henoke's heart.
The thought scared her, really.
”So—what’re these ‘memories’ you keep talkin’ about?” Henoke's question seemed rather repetitive, although his following question did amuse Tori, if only a bit.
"They're what you can probably imagine them to be -people's memories" she replied, a bit more calmly, "They lack a physical form, so fighting them fit and proper isn't exactly possible... I meant it more like a mental battle. That is, only if they link themselves to you. So far, though..." she looked up at a few wisps floating by, "Even though they're gathering around us, they haven't noticed you yet. Which is a good thing, really. I'd hate it if they took notice as soon as we arrived..."
Tori then took a deep breath, a bit more calm. Her eyes back to their usual color, she glanced around in search for the way out. Even though the world itself was isolated in the Realm Between -the Realm of Twilight-, it still had a way out for those who weren't meant to be there.
She was looking for the Rift. Even if that world didn't need one, Tori was certain a Rift would open for them to cross through and leave to the worlds in the Realm of Light. It was their only option in a world like that.

”They lack a physical form, so fighting them fit and proper isn’t exactly possible…” At Tori’s explanation, Henoke’s confident and broad smile faltered, an upset frown forming on his face. Mental battle? So they were literally just memories? What was so scary about that? Henoke’s golden eyes followed Tori’s, eyeing the wisps that continued to float around them in the air. ”Even though they’re gathering around us, they haven’t noticed you yet.” Raising an eyebrow, Henoke tilted his head at one of the misty wisps. So—these are memories? Weird. Apparently, as long as they didn’t get ‘linked’ to them, they were fine. Easy enough, right?
With Tori more calmed down, Henoke glanced around the shoreline. It stretched for what looked like miles, with countless of those wispy ‘memories’ floating about. Are we even going the right way? He really was out of his element, though he knew that the moment there weren’t any Heartless to fight. ”Hm…so we’re stuck until we find the exit…and we gotta avoid these ‘memories’.” Tori hadn’t specifically said it, but he assumed they couldn’t simply use their Keyblades to leave this place, otherwise they would have suggested that by now.
Shrugging a bit, the teen decided to pass the time by slating his curiosity. ”You said you’ve been here before—what happened?” He couldn’t help but ask—since Tori had been so serious and seemingly worried since their arrival. He didn’t bother asking her how she had gotten here or why, assuming it was most likely the case they were in right now.

"Good luck trying to avoid them..." Tori shook her head slightly after listening to Henoke's comment, "Even if you do, they don't care. Some, in particular..."
A faint breeze passed by, the wisps following along without a care in the world. Tori couldn't help but watch them as they floated by in the air, a face of concern in her face.
Why did all of it feel so... nostalgic? She sighed once more, looking away, knowing that it wouldn't help her at all to focus on those thoughts. Hearing Henoke's question, Tori glanced back to look at him. It was a mix between shock and unease, but one Tori couldn't help but smirk upon.
"You seriously have 0 tact..." she mentioned, to then look forward, "Well... The times I've been here haven't been much, honestly. I've been here twice so far, if memory serves" Tori recalled, nodding faintly, "Both times, I was alone, so I didn't have to worry about others becoming tainted... This time, it's different, since you're here" she glanced back towards him once more, "Right now, they haven't noticed us, but I can never be too sure. If a specific memory tries to link itself to you, then we'll be in trouble. You, particularly."
Tori stopped a bit, debating about something inside her head. She hadn't lied, but she was omitting something regardless. Still, it wouldn't help at all if she just told him.
It was best to leave it the way it was.

”You seriously have 0 tact…” Tori’s initial comment only brought a grin to the teen’s face. Henoke prided himself on being upfront and honest with what was on his mind—though it did get him into trouble more often times than not. Listening to Tori’s explanation, Henoke nodded along and brought a hand to his chin in thought. She had mentioned something about being ‘tainted’ earlier, though now he knew it was caused the memories. Me, particularly? Was it because he hadn’t been here before, whereas she had? Furrowing his brow, Henoke shook his head—not prone to thinking too long about complicated things.
”Alright, so where’s this exit supposed to be?” He hadn’t seen anything other than the grey sand and sea this whole time—were there other places on the world they hadn’t seen? It seemed to stretch on forever. ”How do we find it?” There were no real notable landmarks, at least that he could see. If there was an exit, wouldn’t they see it somewhere? His eyes stayed lingering on the floating wisps—the ‘memories’. Though they didn’t seem to be harmful, just floating along with the breeze. A lot of his earlier enthusiasm at the idea of a fight had died down.
A ‘mental battle’ didn’t sound very fun at all.

Tori glanced over towards him as he asked where the "exit" was. Truthfully, she didn't have much of an idea. The place on its own was isolated, letting almost everything in, but selecting what went out. Knowing that, she frowned with worry.
Would they even be let out if they found the Rift? She shook her head, choosing to not think over posibilities, instead thinking for certainties. She looked towards Henoke, taking a deep breath before explaining.
"This place is somewhat peculiar whenever something -or someone- wants to leave" she explained, "It's an isolated world -disconnected from both the Realms of Light and Darkness. As such, it can be somewhat... Selective" she looked away before continuing, "What I'm looking for is a Rift. However... Because this is the place where Rifts on the worlds outside are linked to, finding one here might prove tricky. And while I can make one we can use, it's not anywhere we can make them. We need to be out of their watch" she nudged over towards the wisps, "No matter what, we can't let these wisps follow us when we find or make a Rift. Otherwise, they'll spread outside the Shore and cause trouble, tainting others without those victims knowing."
Tori crossed her arms, troubled. Surely, it was going to prove difficult, but some things were just needed to be made. Trusting on Henoke's own fiery will, she didn't have much trouble knowing he'd follow along now.
What did bother her was what he planned to do in order to help. Looked at the wisps around them once more, her face turned towards one of concern.
"...You wouldn't know it, but... These memories are from those who've already passed..." she began, "Most of them are aware of it, and have come to accept it, waiting for time to take them away. Others -like the ones you see right now- aren't exactly fond of the idea of remaining here while they're forgotten... Some are simply unwilling to let go, while others... Have darker motives in mind..." she turned towards him once more, "Hence, the reason why we need to be careful. Especially considering your current state."

As Tori explained how the world seemed to act differently once people wanted to leave, Henoke began to understand why the girl was stressed. ”What I’m looking for is a Rift.” The word jogged a vague memory—something his Master had mentioned of there being ‘natural’ Rifts and ‘created’ Rifts—but essentially they were just different ways worlds could ‘open up'. ”While I can make one we can use, it’s not anywhere we can make them. We need to be out of their watch.” Henoke’s eyes went back to the ‘memories’, drifting along the wind.
The idea of them being unleashed to other worlds was one even Henoke understood the risks in. Hm…but where can we hide? As he had noticed before, the shoreline didn’t seem to have much in terms of coverage or ‘hiding spots’. ”You wouldn’t know it, but…these memories are from those who’ve already passed.” Hearing Tori explain who the ‘memories’ belonged to made the teen eye the wisps in a new light. Woah…like, ghosts? Hearing that they had their own wills or intentions was slightly unsettling, though Henoke was hopeful that more were complacent than anything. Small pieces of thoughts left behind by those who’ve died—it was definitely a depressing concept. No wonder the place looks so bleak.
”Hence, the reason we need to be careful. Especially considering your current state.” Her last comment confused him, causing his brow to furrow and his head to tilt once more. ”My…current state?” Was she talking about him not being able to control his Power of Waking? No, what would that have to do with any of this? ”Oh—you mean ‘cause my memories been weird lately?” Would they try 'linking' to him, because of his gaps? Ever since awaking in that bizarre castle, Henoke’s memory had been less than reliable. For instance, he remembered his Master and Chirithy, but couldn’t recall the details of the world he was trained on for those years other than vague ideas. Everything before his training was foggy. He was missing a huge gap.
”Wait—“ The two had never shared anything so personal before. Henoke’s eyes immediately grew narrowed and suspicious. ”How’d you know about that?” An odd chill went down the teen’s spine. ”I’ve never told you about it…”

Tori sighed, looking away with an awkward smile. Of course he'd pick up on that. Avoiding eye contact with Henoke, she began to think on how to explain things, given the fact that she hadn't explained it to him before.
It was always a scary thing to do, though, as she knew just how afraid people could be of her actual ability.
"Well... That's not exactly what I was refferring to, but... You're not wrong when assuming that'd be another reason for this to be troublesome..." she admitted, still avoiding him. After a moment of silence, she sighed, troubled, "I'm... Well..." Tori fidgeted, frowning with unease.
"Just do it already! Haven't you done it once before?!" Tori looked down, still trying to get her words out of her chest. It was always like that -she'd mention something she couldn't know about unless they'd tell her (which was never), and then they'd get suspicious. She couldn't help but hate that of her.
Her ability to see people's memories and, therefore, their hearts.
"..." Tori dropped her arms to her sides, somewhat defeated, "I can see people's memories. Why, I have no idea, but it's just how it is... Whether I want to or not, I end up seeing people's memories. When I don't do it on my own, they're just glimpses -fragments or images. Whenever I do want to see them... They're like a movie of sorts -the images go past at a normal rhythm, and I somewhat choose which parts I want to see..." she glanced over at Henoke, with a conflicted expression, "I didn't mean to pry... But the small glimpses I saw from you were... Broken... They're not complete, right?"
"I do know the reasons why, though..." she thought, "But I won't tell you unless you really want to know..."

The way Tori was acting made Henoke less suspicious and more genuinely confused. He had never seen her this clammed up before. ”Whether I want to or not, I end up seeing people’s memories.” The sudden confession caught Henoke by surprise—he definitely hadn’t expected anything like that. A power to see people’s memories… That was something completely unheard of to the teen. ”I didn’t mean to pry…but the small glimpses I saw from you were…broken” Henoke’s own face fell into a somber expression as he glanced down at the grey sand. She was right, his memories were broken—it was just something the teen continued to push off during his travels, hoping it would just sort of come back to him at some point.
Crossing his arms a bit, he sighed, closing his eyes as the somber expression faded into a calm one. ”Hm…I can’t be mad if it’s something you can’t control.” Seeming somewhat sheepish, Henoke scratched at the back of his head while mumbling: ”Tch—you shoulda warned me ‘bout that, though…” What’s done was done—thankfully, no real harm came from Tori knowing his memory was broken up. Henoke himself found it frustrating, having something personal out on display for someone else with no choice, but he also understood not being able to control your own powers. Look at how they ended up here, after all.
”Well, you’re right—my memories are broken.” Resting his hands on his hips, Henoke seemed to have returned to his usual self. ”I think it’s ‘cause of that castle I woke up in…” He didn’t bother explaining—if Tori had seen certain memories, chances are she’d glimpsed that one. It was the most fresh and formative in his mind since awakening. ”Anyway, I’ll take the ghosts more seriously, so don’t worry.” With a carefree grin, Henoke rested his hands behind his head, glancing around the shoreline before raising a brow at Tori.
”So—how do we lose ‘em?” She had said they needed to be out of the ‘memories’ view to create a Rift, in order to avoid them escaping with the two. But that hadn’t changed the fact Henoke saw almost no cover or areas to hide nearby. Does she have an idea? He had some…but frankly, he wasn’t sure if they’d even work, considering these ‘ghosts’ weren’t ‘physical’.

"Castle Oblivion..." Tori mumbled while looking down, almost unconsciously.
She knew of the place Henoke talked about -seeing it through his own eyes only helped ascertain it. She frowned at the sight, but looking away, she hoped Henoke wouldn't notice.
Already, she could start making a few ideas in her head as for why Henoke had woken up there.
"..." Tori turned towards the direction she was headed, hoping Henoke would look the same way, "There's a spot not too far ahead, where they don't gather as much. We can try there" she explained.
She began to walk, her eyes looking down at the grey sand she stepped upon, thinking about what she wanted to do. There were a lot of things she'd been omitting to Henoke, mostly because she didn't want to create trouble for either of them.
It wasn't just other people's memories he had to care about.
"Say... Do you want to remember?" she asked, turning faintly towards him, "You might be able to recover what you've lost here... If it's you, then surely you'll grasp something others can't. But... If that's the case, then we'd have to pospone our leave for just a little bit... If you don't want to, then... We just rush it to the exit."

”There’s a spot not too far ahead, where they don’t gather as much.” Looking in the direction Tori was speaking of, Henoke nodded, a light-hearted grin on his face. Heh—easy! Beginning to follow Tori, the teen noticed that she seemed troubled by something. ”Say…do you want to remember?” The question made Henoke stop in his steps. ”You might be able to recover what you’ve lost here…if it’s you, then surely you’ll grasp something others can’t.” Crossing his arms and tilting his head, Henoke furrowed his brow. Truthfully, he was a little confused—but interested. ”If that’s the case, then we’d have to postpone our leave for just a little bit…”
So there was a catch. If he wanted to take a chance at recovering some of his memories, he’d have to stay here longer, risking the ‘ghosts’ being able to ‘link’ with him or whatever. ”But wait,” There was something confusing him still. ”How can I recover my memories here?” Gesturing towards the countless wisps breezing through the air, the teen tilted his head. ”Aren’t these all ghosts? Memories of dead people? How’re they gonna help me find my memories?” He didn’t know anyone that was dead. Wait… He couldn’t remember anything about where he came from—only training with his Master. He knew his Master wasn’t his parent though…so where did he come from? Was it even the same world as the one he had trained on? If not, what had happened to his home? His family? Do I know someone that died? Having hardly dealt with the gravity of these missing memories, Henoke realized for the first time how little he knew about himself.
It was an odd feeling—one that made a growing sense of detachment form.

Tori listened attentive as Henoke voiced out his doubts. Slowly turning her expression into a concerned one, Tori avoided looking at him for a while, debating whether or not she should give him a chance to reconsider. Her fists tightened as she tried to cope with his questions, knowing the answers for them all too well.
Truthfully, she was worried about what would happen if she told him.
"...Henoke" she called out, finally looking at him face-to-face, "Think this carefully" Tori's eyes suddenly shifted in color, as she began to accept what she wanted to do -help him remember, "Do you really want to remember? Do you think... You're able to withstand any truth, no matter how painful it may be?" her tone broke a bit, showing her worry, "If you believe yourself strong enough to embrace any truth regarding yourself... Then I'll tell you. If not..." Tori glanced away, "It might be best for you to remain as is -ignorat of the memories you're unable to recall."
"The reason your memories are broken and torn... I know it all too well" she admitted, still not looking at him, "However... If you're unable to accept whatever comes to your heart... Then it'd be best if you lived the way you are, regardless of that inconsistency with your memories. I won't say anything to you or anyone, if you think you can't handle a truth that may end up being painful for you -I promise you that much."

”Henoke…” Tori’s sudden seriousness caught the teen off-guard. ”Do you really want to remember?” Tori’s questions caused him to place a hand to his chin in thought, brewing over the question of ‘pain’ and ‘strength’ seriously. Sure enough, his earlier thought had already made him realize a certain gravity that had escaped him all this time. She’s right…who knows what I could find out. There was a genuine nervousness in Henoke’s heart, something unfamiliar to the rather confident teen full of bravado. ”The reason your memories are broken and torn…I know it all too well” At this, Henoke shouted out in surprise, taking a step forward towards Tori.
”What?!” How did she know?! Had she been do the castle herself?! ”If you’re unable to accept whatever comes to your heart…then it’d be best if you live the way you are” There was something larger than the nervousness inside of him, though—an emptiness formed from the gaps he couldn’t recall, something he desperately wanted filled. I’ll remember more of them, too. Other faces besides his Master and Chirithy, blurred out in his vague memories—there were others he knew he was forgetting, and that thought alone gave him the courage he needed. He refused to be someone who willingly forgot about their friends.
”I can’t just let myself stay like this.” Shaking his head a bit, Henoke looked down at the grey sand they stood on, finding a calmness from listening to the waves lapsing against it. Not if I’m going to find them. Unable to recall even the name of the world he and his Master trained on, Henoke had been aiding worlds at random while searching for the two. Ever since awakening, he hadn't seen either of them. He was sure that regaining some of his memories would help him with his Power of waking, too. Fixing a determined look on his face as his golden eyes were alight with a new fire, Henoke grinned at Tori and stuck out a fist, nodding confidently.
”I can handle it!” Resting his hands on his hips, he gave the girl a serious face. ”So—how’re these ghosts gonna help me with my memories?”
