Echoes of a calm sea crashed against a golden sand, alongside the breeze tasting of salt. On the large island’s center stood a looming forest, with tall trees and tropical flora. Faintly, but surely, some chirps and growls were heard from the native fauna, warning one to not step too far into the forestry maze.
By the north was a humble town —the only one in the entire island. It was a large one, given its singularity, and the only safe place in the entire island, far enough from the threats of the fauna which allowed it to thrive and survive. At the most northern end, stood a looming mountain, its very peaks covered in snow despite the island’s tropical location.
The rest of the island was sand and sea at the edges, the forest being the only thing connecting it all.
Tori looked around, trying to ascertain where they were. Knowing the world like the palm of her hand, she knew the ins and outs and, as such, could tell just by a glance where to move next. One false step, and they could encounter a nasty surprise. Unwilling to put up through it without the right information, she decided to head to the town.
“Let’s get moving” she rushed, heading north from where they were, “We’ll want to go to the town, first and foremost. From there, we can see what we can do.”
She’d already caught up on where they were —the Western Shore. And empty beach had welcomed them, followed by growls and noises of monsters on the wait for prey. Just by hearing them alone, she couldn’t tell what monsters awaited, nor did she want to blind check.
That was practically asking for a death sentence. Some monsters weren’t ones to take easily.
They weren’t too far from the city, however, already visible from a distance. Tori could see the Training Grounds, as well as the Academy, not too far from where she was standing. From there, it would be an easy way to town. Faintly, she could also make the sounds of the town —or rather, she imagined them as she walked towards it. People’s chatter, the noises of Chocobos in their stables, and a variety of other urban noises —noises she somehow missed more than she’d imagined.
It was good to be home, if only for a bit.
She recalled a few things as she brought back the noises from her memories —the world’s rules. If they wanted to keep a low profile, some things were a must to do. Snapping her fingers in order to assure herself of that, Tori nodded.
“Our first stop’s gonna be the Smith’s shop” she informed, “You’ll need a weapon if we’ll be staying here for a while. Being honest, I also wanna check and see what else I can do for my own weapon. And it wouldn’t hurt to visit Verun for a bit” she finished with a chuckle.
“So, let’s get to it!”
Closing the distance to the Training Grounds and the Academy, one could see the town at its full glory. The roads were made of stone, polished and tidy, while the buildings were mostly made of wood, some having concrete walls and others stone walls. People were going back and forth, carrying all kinds of things —from bags, to boxes, sacks and carts. A lively town, where people were doing their best to make ends meets. Tori pulled over her hood, just in case —a habit of hers, not really liking much attention towards her. A renowned name, it was best to remain low. From there, the Smith’s shop was a straight way forward, the path she took leading downtown.

The breeze that greeted him was welcoming—the crunching sand beneath his sneakers reassuring. Henoke hadn’t been to a real island in what felt like forever. With a carefree grin on his face, the teen with orange hair was eager to drink in the sights—listening to the distant growls and chirps of unseen beasts in the thick forestry. Seeing the bustling town in the near distance only brought more excitement into his already fiery heart. ”Let’s get moving.” Tori knew this world well, allowing Henoke to gawk and stare as they walked rather than pay attention to direction. ”What is this place?” Gazing up at the monstrous mountain at the northern point of the island, the teen was surprised to see snow. With the comfortably warm climate of the island, he hadn’t expected to see anything like that.
Finding some new energy in his steps, Henoke oozed eagerness and excitement to explore a new area. How long had it been since he had gotten to explore somewhere of his own volition, rather than the Keyblade’s? ”Our first stop’s gonna be the Smith’s shop.” Blinking for a moment in confusion, he raised an eyebrow at her. ”You’ll need a weapon if we’ll be staying here for a while.” Tilting his head a bit, a faint pout had formed on his face. ”Weapon? But I got the Keyblade…” After relying on it for so long—it felt weird imagining using anything else. ”Let’s get to it!” Rushing ahead, Tori was quick to make it into the town, stone roads sprawling beneath their feet as the noises of people, clanging of metal and clacking of talons could be heard as though a sudden crescendo.
As Tori pulled up her hood, Henoke eyed the girl with a devious suspicion as he caught up to her and matched her pace. ”Heh—I didn’t peg you for the shy type, Tori.” Resting his hands behind his head as they walked, he felt in good spirits as he drank in the sights of the town. It almost reminded him of his home world, though he had only ever really gotten to see it when it was barren, filled with nothing but ghosts. This was much better. ”Tch—this crowd's somethin' else…” Realizing he hadn’t been somewhere with so many people in ages, Henoke found himself glaring at those who got too close and scowling at any who bumped into him as he followed Tori to the Smith's Shop. Though he enjoyed the energy from the town, personal space was something he’d always prioritized.

Tori laughed softly, hearing Henoke’s comment about him already having a Keyblade. However, already being in the town’s heart —downtown—, mentioning it would be a hassle. Instead, she looked around, trying to orient herself while she brought back the chat between them.
“Force of habit, really. The hood, I mean” she mentioned, as she looked around amongst the crowd, “I’m… Sorta well-known ‘round here, and honestly, I don’t like much unwanted attention. Helps me keep a low profile, y’know?” she finished cheekily.
Tori followed her route, nudging Henoke to follow. As she did so, the street opened up into a circular plaza, with a fountain right at the middle. By their right, they could see a Moogle with a cap and a somewhat long dress attenting the stables, a few Chocobos kweh-ing to the passerby crowd. Chuckling at the sight, Tori looked their way before turning to the left, in between many shops and doors, with people entering and leaving. One was a tavern, with people eating lunch to a peaceful afternoon, the occasional clank of wooden cups being heard alongside cheers. The other were mostly shops, displaying their merchandise through crystal stands. It was one of them that Tori entered.
The bell rang sweetly as she opened the door. Inside, an orderly display of weapons —from swords, to poles, to bows and arrows— and armor —including shields, both small and large— welcomed them, as well as a voice from the far end’s counter.
“’Ey, what can I do for ya?” the voice greeted cheerfully before noticing who had entered, “Well, if it ain’t Tori! What brings you here?” “Nice to see you too, Verun” Tori greeted back with a smile, pulling her hood down. “Heh —still with the hood habit, I see” Verun teased back. He perked up when he saw Henoke, “A new face, eh? Nice to meet’cha —I’m Verun. Just your friendly neighborhood smith, at your service.” “He’s Henoke” Tori introduced him, “We’re here to get him a weapon.”
Before anyone could ask, Tori looked at Henoke (assuming he’d followed) to answer his inquiry about him needing a weapon. Given the world’s rules —or rather, traditions—, it was clear that he’d have no idea on why he’d need a different weapon other than his Keyblade.
“Ok, so… Not a lot of people like the mention of the Keyblade, less seeing one” she explained, in a somewhat soft voice, even though no one other than Verun was there, “As such, if you end up using it while we hunt, while there’s other people near that don’t like seeing one… We might get in serious trouble. So, it’s best if we avoid it, for the time being. Hence, why you’ll need a different weapon to make up for not using your Keyblade.”

”I’m…sorta well-known ‘round here.” The comment only brought another devious glint into the teens eyes as he smirked at Tori. ”Didn’t know I was with a celebrity~” Chuckling a bit as he teased her, Henoke paused at the sight of the Chocobos, having never seen such large birds before. ”Woooooah!” He was immediately gripped with the urge to ride one. Before he could make a move for it, Tori had already began to duck into one of the many shops, forcing Henoke to follow unless he wanted to be lost. Ding! The bell that rang as they opened the door caught him off-guard, making Henoke realize he hadn’t been to a normal shop in…well, a really long time. ”Well, if it ain’t Tori! What brings you here?” It seemed that Tori wasn’t lying when she said she was well-known, as the shopkeep immediately recognized her despite the hood.
”He’s Henoke.” Waving a hand nonchalantly, the teen nodded as he met Verun. ”Ok, so…not a lot of people like the mention of the Keyblade, much less seeing one.” Tori’s explanation caught him off-guard. Henoke had never heard of people being weird about Keyblades other than the more villainous types. ”Hence, why you’ll need to find a different weapon to make up for not using your Keyblade.” He grimaced a bit, though nodded in agreement nonetheless. Henoke wasn’t fond of the idea of not using his tried and true weapon that felt like a part of him—but he also had a duty as a traverser of worlds to respect and maintain the order. ”Tch—whatta pain…” Sighing a bit in defeat as he crossed his arms, Henoke glanced around the shop, trying to see anything that might catch his eye. If he had to use a different weapon, he’d make sure it was one that got him hyped.
”Oh, cool!” Rushing over towards one of many displays showcased in the shop, Henoke’s eyes had widened with stars as his gaze fell upon the gigantic war-axe that rested on the wall. ”Check this out!” The weapon was ridiculously large, even for his height and build, easily twice if not three times the size. The axe-head alone was about as big as his torso, the entire weapon looking like it would weight an obscene amount. ”I want this one!” Still sparkles in his eyes, Henoke reached out, trying to grab at the large weapon as though a kid in a candy store.

Yuto sat on the beach, taking in the sights. He had never been on an island before and he wasn't about to waste this chance to enjoy himself. After all the excitement he had been through, it was nice to be able to sit and take a breath. 'This is nice. I wish I could do it more often.'
He laid on his back and stared into the sky, reminiscing about his adventures. 'It sure has been a weird and wild ride so far.' The man started mindlessly drawing in the sand next to him as he enjoyed the atmosphere.

Tori glanced over at Henoke, as he immediately went for the biggest weapon he could find. She sighed with disappointment, while Verun also looked uneasy. He quickly stood up as he saw Henoke trying to pick the damn thing by himself, pushing him back softly with a really worried look.
“Hey, now, if you want to check somethin’, lemme know” he said, hasty, “You need to be careful with weapons like these. Otherwise, ya might end up breaking a few while picking your fancy.” “Can you even carry that thing around?” Tori asked Henoke, amused, while crossing her arms. “Let ‘im try, I say” Verun said with a hearty laugh, “There’s Hunters that request these kinds of weapons, y’know?” “But they’re older than Henoke, aren’t they?” “True —this ain’t your size” he winked at Henoke, “This kinda weapon is for a grown adult. I ain’t sayin’ ya can’t hold a war-axe, though. But lemme help’cha a bit, a’ight? I’m a master of the craft!”
Tori rolled her eyes, chuckling amusedly, while Verun grabbed a somewhat smaller war-axe, more suited for Henoke’s height, and handed it over to him. Aside the height and possible weight difference, the war-axe was identical to the last one. It was significantly heavy, but a weight Henoke was most definitely used to.
The weapon itself was easily Henoke’s height, if not a bit larger, but the weight was properly distributed. Verun looked at how it looked by a first glance, thinking inside his head about whether it’d be a good match or not.
“How does it feel? Try holdin’ it like so” he said, as he held both of his arms forward, like he was grabbing a stick in front of him, “Is it too heavy? Too light? Or maybe the material ain’t your pick?” “What is it made of, exactly?” Tori asked, looking at the war-axe. “The blade’s made of Black Iron” Verun explained, “So, as you can tell, the edges are real sharp. War-axes are slow, but they’re meant to pack a punch —so the weight’s distributed in order to put as much strength as one needs to land a definitive blow.”
“Of course… If it’s not your cup of tea… I can make you a custom weapon” Verun suggested with a confident smirk, “It’ll cost ya a pretty penny, though.”
Finishing a few errands, Neku folded his hands behind his head. He looked at the sky, noticing how he hadn’t taken a break yet, and he was also rather hungry. Still, he was tasked with picking up one final cargo before getting paid and time for a break.
As he made his way around the outskirts of the town, closer towards the shoreline, he noticed someone there. The face and attire were unknown to him, making Neku question whether he was native or not. Chancing it, he approached.
“Yo!” he called, as he walked calmly towards them, his hands still behind his head, “You new ‘round here? It ain’t good to stand there, not unless ya wanna get attacked” he added coy, a smirk drawn on his lips.

”Hey, now, if you want to check somethin’, lemme know.” Verun’s sudden haste and worry caused Henoke to grin sheepishly as he scratched at the back of his head. He wasn’t used to shopping. ”Can you even carry that thing around?” Tori’s question brought a pridefully indignant look to the tall teens face, who crossed his arms and turned his nose up a bit. ”O’course! I’m hella strong!” Hearing Verun agree that the weapon wasn’t his size, Henoke sighed a bit with a frown, seeing he was losing this battle. ”But lemme help’cha a bit, a’ight? I’m a master of the craft!” His crestfallen expression was soon swapped for one of devious delight as the smith handed over a similar axe. ”How does it feel?” Gripping the weapon in both hands, Henoke grinned down at the gleaming axe, enjoying the menacing look it gave off as well as appreciating the large blade.
”The blade’s made of Black Iron.” Henoke had never heard of such a material, but the axe felt good in his hand. ”Of course…if it’s not your cup of tea…” Hearing how Verun could make custom weapons caused the teen’s eyes two widen and sparkle once more. Oh man, I could have a huge sword! Or maybe a scythe?! Argh, what’s cooler?! Hearing that they would cost a lot, the teen paused, grimacing a bit. He had forgotten that when shopping, one needed Munny. ”Er…” Resting the axe in his hand on his shoulder as he used a free hand to rummage around his jacket and pockets, Henoke’s grimace turned into a pale panic as he realized he didn’t have a Munny pouch. When he was ‘created’, the Organization must not have felt the need to recreate that…
”Uh…” Sweating a bit, the teen attempted to have an air of nonchalantness as he took a longing glance at the axe in his hands. ”Y’know…I just remembered…I like dealin’ with stuff with my fists instead o’ weapons…” The lame excuse was an obvious lie, as Henoke sighed and hung his head a bit, offering the axe back to Verun while avoiding his and Tori’s eyes from shame as his face turned a bit red.

“Yo! You new ‘round here?" Yuto sat up and looked to the source of the voice to find a fairly tall teen. "It ain’t good to stand there, not unless ya wanna get attacked.” The man laughed as he stood and brushed some sand off himself. "Noted." He walked over to the teen. "Yeah, I'm not from around here. How'd ya guess?"
He looked the man up and down, taking note of the sword at his hip. "You're not kidding about being attacked, are ya?" The man sighed in annoyed acceptance. 'Just when I thought I could relax stress free.' Yuto looked at the teen with a semi-forced smile.
"Sorry, I'm being rude. Name's Yuto. Yuto Karasu." He extended his hand warmly.

”Y’know…I just remembered…I like dealin’ with stuff with my fists instead o’ weapons…”
Tori blinked, same as Verun, in complete shock. After a moment of silence, Tori tried muffling a laugh, but couldn’t, instead laughing a bit without control. If money was the issue, he could’ve said so sooner. Being honest to herself, she had forgotten to tell Henoke that the cost was going to the Guild, rather than to his own pocket.
But with all that she had to focus on, Tori had no time to tell him.
“Eh~, and you looked so eager ‘bout it” Verun smiled with unease, before cheering up a bit, “Tell ya what, then —if you run me a li’l errand, I’ll lower the price for the custom, and make it a priority. In other words, make it cheaper and getting it done in a few days, compared to a week or so.” “Well, ain’t this surprising…” Tori smirked, “You and your deals again…” “Imma guess that you won’t be able to go fetch for materials to make it, so I can’t lower it much” Verun sighed, “But I’m willing ta lend you guys a hand. And besides” he looked at Henoke, “How can I leave you weaponless, when you were so eager to wieldin’ the damn thing? I bet the axe’s just as sad as you.”
Tori laughed a bit more, amused by Verun’s jokes. As for the young smith himself, he waited for Henoke’s answer. It was his weapon, after all —whatever happened next was up to him.
“I’ll make it worth the trouble, I promise” Verun said with confidence, “That is, if you want the custom. If ya want the axe o’er here, then… I’ll lower the price, still. Your call, buddy!” “Sorry I forgot to tell you, Henoke” Tori apologized, “The cost’s going to the Guild’s bill —not to your pocket. You will work your way to paying it back, though, but you’ll like the way how you’ll do it —I’m sure.”
Neku snickered as the man walked towards him, asking if he was joking about being attacked. Just like many others, the man in front of him didn’t believe at first listen, but Neku couldn’t blame him. How many other worlds had native monsters in them?
“I ain’t jokin’” Neku said with a smirk, “Some nasty monsters like to crawl and attack unaware people… But you’re somewhat close to town, so it’s more unlikely.”
He glanced over at the extended hand, a bit take aback, but he quickly grabbed it with his cocky attitude back. Shaking it once, Neku grabbed onto the strap keeping his sword firmly behind his back, as he introduced himself.
“Name’s Kirigaya Neku” he said, “Just Neku’s fine, though.”
“Lemme show you ‘round” he said, turning towards the town and nudging for him to follow, “You’ll need a place to stay, right? That, and maybe a few other explanations. But first, though… Do you know how to fight? And do you have a weapon?”
He wanted to make sure the man now following had means to defend himself. If the case came to it, he’d have to help him get a weapon to do so, and show him the ropes.
Not that he would be against it, however, as Neku himself could use the opportunity to grab a few Marks and bounties.

”Tell ya what, then—if you run me a lil’ errand, I’ll lower the price for the custom, and make it a priority.” Henoke looked up at the smith’s words, a hopeful and eager look taking over his face again. ”Woah, really!” Nodding as Verun explained the vague terms of the deal, the teen seemed confident and eager to start. ”Sorry I forgot to tell you, Henoke.” Hearing Tori’s explanation, the teen furrowed his brow a bit with faint scowl—wishing she had mentioned it earlier before he had exposed the fact of how broke he was. ”Well, at least you said somethin' now…” Scratching at the back of his head again, Henoke rolled his eyes a bit before smirking at Tori. ”Alright…so I’ll be workin’ it off either way…” Glancing back at Verun, the teen gave him a nod before grinning confidently. ”I’ll do yer job! If I’m workin’ anyway, might as well get the price down.”
Holding up a hand, the teen had a devious look in his face. ”But I want somethin’ epic…like a buster sword, or somethin’ big!” Pointing at the original axe that had caught his eye, Henoke’s grin spread from cheek to cheek. ”I don’t care if it’s an axe or sword or whatever…just somethin’ epic that can crush a bunch'a monsters at once!” It seemed he was already looking forward to his own fantasy—easily getting revved up after hearing he could work off the expenses. ”So, what do I gotta do?!” Taking a step towards Verun, the teen’s excitement was palpable as he awaited directions surprisingly eagerly. It seemed he was fine with listening to others orders so long as he got cool stuff out of it.

Yuto nodded at the teen's questions. "Not on me, but I'll go grab them real quick." With that, the man opened a dark corridor and reemerged with his metal bat and Replikeyblade strapped to his hip and back respectively. "I've been in a few scraps, but this is a new place so learning couldn't hurt." New world, new rules and Yuto didn't want to be in a place and not know how to survive there.
He gestured for Neku to lead. "So, what can you tell me about this place? You seem like you know your way around." It was nice to have a seemingly friendly face in an unknown world. He would follow the teen where he led and listen to anything he had to say.

Verun nodded in agreement, an eager smile on his end as well, as Henoke accepted the terms. Tori also listened closely as the smith began to tell the little errand he wanted to run them through.
“Alright, then” Verun began, “I got a cargo confirmed not long ago, but I can’t go pick it up, since I need to keep the shop open. If you can bring it here, I’d appreciate it. It’s simple enough —just two boxes with materials and ores” he looked at Tori as he continued, “You know where to pick it up, right?” “Yeah —by the Council, right?” “Atta girl” Verun’s comment caused Tori to click her tongue, “Bring it back through the back door once you grab it. If it’s you, then they’ll let ya through. Just tell ‘em Henoke’s with ya, and it’ll be easy.”
Tori nodded, turning towards the door and hinting at Henoke to follow. Just as before, outside was bustling with activity. It hadn’t been long, as it was still early in the afternoon. People were also going back and forth, running errands, helping others or claiming bounties. Pulling her hood back on, Tori guided Henoke to where the cargo Verun had requested was waiting.
Besides a large, somewhat regal-looking building, Tori stopped, seeing the many boxes and sacks piling up. A few people were moving them around or taking them, with a man supervising everyone and everything. He perked up as he saw Tori and Henoke walking his way, stopping them before reaching the crates.
“Who’re you, and what’re you lookin’ for?” he asked, calm yet firm. “I’m here to pick up a delivery for Verun. He asked us to do it” Tori explained, “I’m a member of the Hunter’s Gang, and he’s here to lend a hand” she finished, looking at Henoke. “You’re their Recruiter?” “Ah… You know that much?” Tori asked back with unease, but then chuckled, “Yeah —that’s me.” “…” the man turned towards the crates and sacks, “The two open crates’re the ones you’ll be taking.” “Roger. Thanks.”
Tori headed there, towards the only open crates there were, with shining ores and materials topping over the boxes. Making sure it was the right now, Tori grabbed one of them.
“Sheesh, it’s heavy…” she said with an amused unease.
Neku flinched a bit as Yuto opened a Corridor, and in mere seconds returning with a metal bat and… A Keyblade? He lowered his arms with a scrutinous look —uneasy, really. It was reassuring to know he had some experience, sure, but some things couldn’t be helped.
“Is that a real one?” Neku asked, pointing at the Replikeyblade, “You might wanna avoid usin’ it, anyways. Not a lot of people are fond of that weapon —be it fake or not. If someone catches ya, it'll mean serious trouble.”
“In any case… I’m from these parts” Neku continued, “So I know plenty of things. Such as where’s safe and where it isn’t. But I know that ain’t what you wanna hear” he smirked, “You’re curious about the monsters that live ‘ere, aren’t’cha?”

Nodding as he listened to Verun’s instructions, Henoke was visibly excited. ”Piece o’ cake! Leave it to us, Verun!” Grinning as he thumped his chest with a fist, he followed Tori out of the shop, apparently over his initial weirdness of using a weapon that wasn’t the Keyblade. He had forgotten how cool some could be! Following Tori through the lively crowded streets, Henoke found himself constantly looking around, finding it hard to focus on much of anything with all of the newness around him. The building Tori led him too was grandiose, reminding the teen mildly of some of the lavish castles he had been to during his travels. Wonder if this place’s got royalty, too? He thought of Princess Marie, being really the only regal figure he had ever met. ”Who’re you, and what’re you lookin’ for?” The man’s voice brought Henoke back on track, shaking off his thoughts and distractions.
”I’m here to pick up a delivery for Verun.” As Tori gestured towards Henoke with a vague introduction, the teen gave a slight nod and small wave. Following Tori to the crates they’d be carrying, the teen found himself mesmerized by the items inside. So this is how he makes it…? He hadn’t ever seen anyone make a weapon before. Though, with his jumbled memories, that wasn’t really too surprising. Lifting one of the two crates, the teen didn’t seem to struggle at all—having always been physically strong and athletic. Though he was merely a Replica, it seemed the Organization had done well enough to carry over his natural strengths as well as the Keyblade’s. ”Sheesh, it’s heavy…” Laughing a bit at Tori’s unease, Henoke smirked a bit as he raised a brow at her. ”Complainin’ right away, huh?” Obviously joking with her, the teen gestured to the top of his own crate.
”Here, pile it up. I doubt any of the stuff’ll break.” They were gathering stuff for his weapon, after all, so he felt it was only fair that he carried everything. Tori was already nice enough to be his guide throughout this new world, so it was truthfully the least he could do. Not that he’d ever be so honest with the sentiment, of course, masking it under a playful tease and cocky attitude.

Yuto looked at the weapon held to his back via magnet magic. "Nah, I wasn't lucky enough to be able to have a real one." The man tilted his head at Neku's comment about people not liking Keyblades. "No biggie." He shrugged, and in a single motion both opened another corridor and threw the Replikeyblade through it.
"I'm more used to my bat anyhow." He rested a hand on the but of said bat as he finished his statement.
“You’re curious about the monsters that live ‘ere, aren’t’cha?” Yuto failed to contain an impish grin. Neku nailed it on the head. "Perceptive one, yeah?" It would be a great help to know what they ran the risk of fighting and how to best face them.
"Before we get to into the fun stuff, there is one question I'm hoping you can answer." The man looked over to where the corridor used to be. "Why are people so testy about keyblades? Where I'm from they were everywhere. Actually it was rare to not have one."

Heaving the open box with the many ores and materials inside, Tori made her way back a bit more slowly than the way there. Henoke’s tease made her laugh, but she was quick to shake her head. What was an errand, if it didn't help one be more diligent?
“I’m okay —I can use the work, really” she replied, glancing towards him, “Since I’ll be lending you a hand until your weapon’s finished. Gotta show you around, remember? And I’m not the type to stand by, when I could lend others a hand, so this is fine!”
“Come on, let’s take these back to Verun.”
Tori led the way back, although it was quicker given the fact that she didn’t need to show Henoke where to go, having already been there. People made their way easier by moving aside and letting them past, even those running. It went to show that, even if in a rush, people knew how not to cause trouble.
“You might do well to remember this” Tori pointed out, “If you see someone carrying stuff, be sure to leave them space to pass you. That’ll avoid messes.”
Making their way back to the smith, she stopped a bit, having heard someone call her name…
Unable to contain his laughter, Neku grinned as he looked at Yuto. Somewhat thankful that he didn’t put much issue regarding the Keyblade issue, it was relieving to know that he was used to the bat in any case. His later comment about him being perceptive also caused him to snicker, already much into the conversation.
He was starting to enjoy the dynamic already.
"Before we get to into the fun stuff, there is one question I'm hoping you can answer." Neku perked up, the hands folded behind his head lowering as he listened attentive. He hummed a bit after he finished, trying to see if he could even answer the question. “Well… I know it’s mostly the elders that look down on it…” Neku replied as he frowned, “I’m not too sure why… Something about a war and stuff, but that’s the way they raise us. Sorry I can’t be any more specific…”
They were already within the town’s streets, some people looking at them with curiosity, while others didn’t mind. Yuto could appreciate others moving back and forth, carrying things or simply talking with someone else —much like him and Neku. No one really approached them, even if Yuto wasn’t known in town.
They were already used to a stranger’s presence, already aware of the worlds outside their own.
Neku looked around with a nonchalant air, smiling as he enjoyed the walk. He perked up after seeing something —or, rather, someone—, lowering his hands down and running towards them, hoping Yuto wouldn’t lose him amongst the crowd.
“Hey, Tori!” he shouted.
Tori smiled as Neku approached her, turning towards him to greet him. Neku snickered a bit, noticing the box she was carrying, and began his teasing.
“Running errands now?” he asked. “More like helping someone running them” Tori replied back. “Huh?” Neku perked up, only to notice Henoke afterwards, “Huh… Another new face, eh?” “…What do you mean by ‘another’?” Tori asked back with unease. “Well, it’s cause I also found someone” Neku turned towards Yuto, who had hopefully followed, before turning back towards Henoke, “Nice ta meet’cha. I’m Neku” he turned towards Yuto as he introduced Tori, “This girl here’s Tori. She’s a friend o’ mine, and a much better guide.” “Oh, no you don’t” Tori smirked with annoyance, “I’m doing work right now, so you guide him along.” “Fine, fine…” Neku finished with a chuckle.

”I’m okay—I can use the work, really.” Nodding as Tori shouldered her own weight, the teen grinned as they made their way through the bustling crowds. Hearing Tori’s comment about moving for people carrying stuff, Henoke made a mental note, not being used to being in such a busy place. It was good to know the smaller things. ”Hey, Tori!” Just as they neared Verun’s shop, both Tori and Henoke heard her name shouted out throughout the crowd. ”Heh, that hood really does nothin’, huh?” Remembering what she had said about wanting to keep a low profile, he couldn’t help but have a devious smirk on his face. ”Running errands now?” Turning to see a boy of similar height and build to himself, carrying a great sword, Henoke shouted out in surprise as a wide grin came over his face as he saw the familiar face accompanying Neku.
”Woah, Yuto!?” Laughing as he set down his crate, Henoke rushed over to his friend who he hadn’t seen in a while. ”What’re you doin’ here!?” As Neku made his introductions, Henoke nodded, trying not to be too distracted by having run into someone he knew for once. ”Hey, I’m Henoke.” Smirking a bit as Neku failed to try to pass on guide duty to Tori, the teen turned back to Yuto with an excited look as he rested his hands behind his head. ”What’re you guys up to?” Figuring that Verun would need some time after they handed over the materials anyway, Henoke was excited at the idea of being able to have everyone hang out—he hadn’t been able to just chill with a group of friends in forever. ”I’m about to finish up this job—we should all do somethin’!” Looking between the others, the teen’s grin only widened.
”How ‘bout it?”

Something about a war and stuff... Sorry I can’t be any more specific…” Yuto waved off the apology. Neku had been more than helpful with his explanation. "S'cool, really." It was more info than he had before. Granted, news of a war had thrown him off a bit.
Now wasn't the time to dwell on that though, the two had entered the town, and Yuto wasn't about to miss the sights that it had to offer. Thankfully, the town seemed to already be used to strangers and wanderers.
”Hey, Tori!” Before the man could ask who Neku was talking too, the teen had run off into the crowd. Yuto couldn't help but smile at the teen's energy as he followed after, making sure not to bump into anyone as he did so. He arrived just as Neku introduced him to Tori. "Hi, nice to meet you. I'm-- Before he could finish, a familiar voice rang out. ”Woah, Yuto!?” He looked over to see Henoke. ”What’re you guys up to?”
"Well, if it ain't the mad man himself." Yuto laughed as his friend approached. "I could ask you the same." Last time the two met, there was a lot of fighting. ”What’re you guys up to? I’m about to finish up this job—we should all do somethin’!" Henoke's energy never let up, even for a second. Yuto couldn't help but laugh. "Definitely. The only question is what?" He looked between Tori and Neku. since they were natives, they would know best what to do for fun.

Tori rolled her eyes at the comment about her hood. It wasn’t that she needed to stay low, but she’d rather do so. Still, she wasn’t mad at it, finding it instead amusing to hear it.
”Woah, Yuto!?” Henoke’s surprised yet pleased comment threw both Neku and Tori in for a loop. Apparently the two knew each other, which left introductions somewhat unnecessary. Simply laughing along, the two simply watched.
“Well, ain’t that nice” Neku said, folding his hands behind his head, “That’ll save some trouble, don’t it?” “Small world, huh…?” Tori followed up with an uneasy smile. “…Oi, ain’t that heavy?” Neku asked while looking at the crate. “It’s fine —I gotta work one way or another, don’t I?” “Fair ‘nuff…”
The pair listened at Yuto and Henoke’s small conversation, following along their words while the two asked each other what they were doing in such a unique world. The idea of “hanging out”, as Henoke put it, was appealing, although not at the moment.
At the very least, for Tori. Neku, on the other hand, was more than up to it, shown by his smirk and nonchalant expression.
“I’m up to showin’ you two ‘round” he said, “Might be a bad guide when it comes to places, but I know where to chill.” “Don’t you have stuff to do?” Tori reminded him, catching him off-guard, “You too, Henoke —we still need to bring this up to Verun. The crates aren’t going to move by themselves!” “Ah, shoot!” Neku flinched, “I totally forgot!” “You were running an errand for Ashe, weren’t you?” “Don’t remind me!” Neku replied, flustered, “I need to get it done ASAP. I haven’t even eaten yet!” “Go along, then.” “Argh… Sorry, Yuto” Neku apologized to him, a clear unease in his face, “But I really gotta finish an errand from before. You don’t mind goin’ with Tori, do ya?” “Hey! Who said you can just dump people with me?!” “Please —I’ll make it up, I promise!” “Haa… Get going, then.”
Neku thanked her before rushing away, while Tori was left behind with a disappointed sigh. Heaving the crate up in order to hold it better, Tori kept going her way, showing to Yuto that it was fine for him to follow.
"In any case, we can’t really relax just yet” Tori mentioned, “You guys don’t know where you’ll be staying the night, right? …I can show you a place after we finish this little job. Come on —let’s go.”
With that, she headed towards Verun’s shop, the same pace as before. Back at the fountain, she didn’t go directly through the main door, instead taking a little detour by the smaller streets in between the shops. They were somewhat dark and unwelcoming, but in the end, they were the back ends of the many shops in downtown. Tori pushed at a door faintly, it opening a bit after. And who else was waiting behind it other than Verun.
“Hey, you brought ‘em!” he cheered, “Alright, it’s a deal —the custom’s a priority!” “And cheaper” Tori reminded, leaving the box aside. “…Hm?” Verun perked up as he looked at the materials, "Another new face? …You won’t be askin’ for 2 this time, will ya?” “Nope —he’s just tagging along for the time being.”

”Well, if it ain’t the mad man himself.” Yuto’s greeting only broadened Henoke’s grin. ”I’m up to showin’ you two ‘round.” His rejoicing was cut short as Tori quickly reminded the group about reality. ”Don’t you have stuff to do? You too, Henoke—“ Staggering a bit at the reminder, Henoke turned as he scratched at his cheek, looking away with a sheepish grin. ”Heh—guess you’ve gotta point…” Hearing that Neku had a job of his own, apparently running really late, the teen was thankful he wasn’t the only one distracted by the good mood. Noting how Yuto was going to be joining them caused the teen to grin at his friend as he bumped fists. ”In any case, we can’t really relax just yet. You guys don’t know where you’ll be staying the night, right?” Henoke blinked in confusion, shrugging a little bit as he shook his head.
He normally just slept wherever. That kinda stuff always managed to just work itself out kind of. ”I can show you a place after we finish this little job. Come on—let’s go.” Grinning at Yuto before grabbing his own crate again, Henoke followed Tori with a carefree smile and sarcastic remark. ”Aye aye, cap’n.” Snickering a bit as he hoisted the items, Henoke would follow Tori with Yuto back to Verun’s shop. Taking the back streets brought a sense of nostalgia to him, thinking of his own home world. ”Hey, you brought ‘em!” Verun’s jovial greeting as they entered through the back made Henoke chuckle, sighing a bit with a humored expression. Did he think we were gonna run off? Setting the crate down, he rested his hands behind his head as he grinned at Verun, excited for his new weapon. ”Just make sure it’s big as hell and awesome!” The glint in his eyes seemed somewhat childish as an impish grin split across his face.
Blinking in surprise, the teen realized he had never really asked Tori why he had needed a weapon while he was here to begin with. She had explained why others were wary of the Keyblade, but he had been so distracted he hadn’t asked about anything else. ”So, Tori…” He wasn’t the most tactful, but was at least aware enough to lower his voice, waiting until Verun was out of earshot. ”This place got Heartless’r somethin’?” Tilting his head a bit, he raised an eyebrow at her. ”Why’d we need weapons, again?” He had heard some noises reminding him of animals during their short walk to the town, but the area itself seemed peaceful enough. Was there a layer to it that he wasn't seeing?

Yuto waved Neku's apology off with a smile. "No worries man, really. Just make sure you grab some food, yeah?" He turned to Tori, retuning Henoke's fist bump. "Guess you're stuck with me for now."
He followed the two through town, tilting his head at Tori's question. "I was gonna try to find a nice alleyway or something. Maybe the nearby beach?" The man shrugged. He was so used to sleeping in odd places by now that he could pass out anywhere.
He followed the two down a few backstreets, towards the back entrance of a shop. He let the two enter before he did, since they were carrying the crates. Looking around the shop Yuto saw a myriad of weapons, from axes to swords and everything between. 'Explains why Neku asked if I had one.'
"Another new face? …You won’t be askin’ for 2 this time, will ya?” The voice of the shopkeep caused Yuto to turn. “Nope —he’s just tagging along for the time being.” The man placed a hand on the but of his bat. "Nice place ya got here though, people are definitely safe with these." He wandered over to where Henoke and Tori were standing just in time to hear Henokes hushed question. "Hey, sorry for barging in but, from what Neku told me this place is crawling with monsters." Yuto whispered, not wanting to break whatever silence was being maintained.
