”Back already? I thought you’d stay there a little longer…” Kujo rolled his eyes a bit, leaning against the Training Room doorway with his arms crossed. Immediately asking about Alice, the Miqo’te was fast to investigate, causing Kujo to grimace as he glared at the wall in front of him. ”What, exactly, happened for her to sleep so pleasantly?” Something about her tone immediately caused him to be wary—though the usual teasing wasn’t unusual. ”How chivalrous of you, by the by,” Her last comment finally caused the man to glare at her over his shoulder with a scowl. ”Shut up. It wasn’t like I was going to go into her room.”
Sighing in resigned agitation, the mans head lowered as he finally pushed himself off of the doorway and back into the Lounge where M’Lyn had gone. ”You’re on the next watch.” Having resumed his usual demeanor, it seemed M’Lyn wouldn’t see the side of him he’d shown Alice—at least, for now. As Jack came into the Lounge, Kujo raised an eyebrow for a moment, watching him carefully. Seems like he’s recovered enough. Immediately investigating his slumbering sister, Jack gave little visible signs that he had gone through any mental or psychological ordeal lately. It was an impressive feat, for one his age.
”Mornin’ sis.” Watching the two siblings back-and-forth, Kujo remained silent as he and the Miqo’te remained the third party observers across the room. Vrrrt! Vrrrrt! The call coming in on all of their comms caught everyone off-guard, Kujo having nearly forgotten about the small device around his ear. He’d grown so used to it, it was easy to forget it was there. Jack’s face showed his unease as he made his way to the Bridge, followed by Alice, M’Lyn and finally Kujo. Tch—figures. He hadn’t even had time to ask Elena about her ‘partner’, or get into the details of what they had recently uncovered. How many missions are there, anyway? How did they always manage to pop up at inconvenient times?
”What is it?” As they all arrived in the Bridge, Jack began communications with Elena. ”How long would it take for you to come back to Milennia?” Kujo blinked for a moment at the name—as it rang a bell but not immediately. That’s right… That was Jack and Alice’s home world, wasn’t it? Elena had mentioned it by name back when they’d discussed the siblings past briefly… ”We need manpower.” It seemed that whatever was happening in that world, it was serious. Elena seemed grave and concerned, though truthfully Kujo felt little panic or alert. If it was manpower she needed, she’d reached out to the right team. Damned pests again… Though he was unsure if it would be the Heartless or not, Kujo grimaced at the thought.
No matter how many of the dark creatures they fought, they always seemed to pop up somewhere, after a time. ”She needs us to go back…that’s not good…” M’Lyn’s mumble caused Kujo to raise an eyebrow, his hands in his pockets as he leaned against a wall in the Bridge. As Jack and Alice began to set course for the ship, Kujo couldn’t help but wonder about the other threats they’d come across, besides the Heartless. If they actually showed their face… A dark grin emerged faintly among the man’s face, as he brooded. If the cloaked figure, of whom the identity remained unknown to all but Jack, indeed had returned, Kujo would be able to settle their score.
Unless it was another projection, of course. Can’t I catch a break?
